ok so i watched 2007 movie for the first time (ive read about it and seen some scenes, but never watched the whole thing) anyways finally got a hold of myself and watched it! Specially bc of 3 reasons

1- i need to cuz to fr wtf

im gonna be honest...... besides rottmnt April..... i dont usually dig her, i always thinks theres some spice laking to her character, (bayverse included, sorry Megan Fox my queen) idk it feels the writers always go for miss perfect with her which doesn't give the character some interesting characteristics besides being "the perfect girl who's also the only one in the group" its lazy writing and it pisses me off. but this April??? i kinda like it! and her 2 LIL BUNS WHILE SHES TRAINING JDNJLA SHES SO CUTE

Thinking out loud here part 2 the comeback - Like the only thing I miss is a more mature mikey I think? Everyone sort of grew up and have more mature lines, and he still on the "Yo dude” teenage phase, like idk if feels they all are in their mid/late 20s and Mikey still a 16 y/o :/ I wish writers would give him more development, or more clever lines? like clever pun lines if he's gonna be the comedy relief. anyways the only show I’ve seen doing more than just "dumb funny guy"for mikey is rottmnt

watching jjk I liked megumi but not obsessed or anything. its def his hair and build lmao but his father being a hot, badass, asshole kinda makes me like megumi a bit more u know? I only wish megumi was more crazy and had a more manipulative side, which I guess he can and does have the potential to snap like that chimera shadow garden scene when he was all bloody and stuff. idk I still stan daddy sukuna

I don't know how I didn't mention the Old Guard comics tbcfh, especially since I think I only watched the movie because of you. I completely understand not liking the art style (I didn't either) but they are honestly really good- (personally, I didn't like the movie at first (I hate movies in general and I think that's why) but then I read the comics and I was like "this is great actually this is perfect." And now I like the movie).

Image also did The Walking Dead Comics, I haven't read them and I don't watch the show but just generally that's a big name for them.

The Paper Girls comics are also very good, the show doesn't really follow them? Which isn't surprising but don't be surprised. (like the scene with Mac and her brother in the car from the show? I would die for that scene, but it doesn't exist in any way shape or form in the comics)

And Saga is definitely a different Genre, It's one of the most popular like ever (to the point my shitty bookstore sells the individual issues when they come out, which it never does, and even the workers were like "we sell these?") But that's more of a general "this is a good comic" rec then a "I think you specifically would enjoy this" rec so I understand.

And I also completely understand falling out of love with comics a little. Hopefully these help. I also constantly am like "maybe I don't like comics anymore. Maybe I'm done." And then I go feral for black canary and I'm like "...nevermind."

its not so much "falling out of love" with comics as it is "getting distracted by life/other things" i think i enjoy media like one might enjoy some really cool rocks and make a rock collection, i can sometimes forget some of my cool rocks in my collection when presented with a New Shiny Cool rock (is this a good metaphor? idk)

also omg i was the reason u watched the old guard? im so honored 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 ngl i do wish i could read the comics just for more content & also because they do genuinely seem GOOD i just. cant get past the art for some reason i cannot explain it i just. dont vibe with it. (maybe i could give tales through time a try bc im pretty sure that had a different art style??)

i did not entirely realize there were walking dead comics, but then again i barely got thru like 1 episode of walking dead when i tried, i remember noping out of trying the show after a graphic horse death?? i think? it's definitely not my speed, ngl i think zombie media kinda freaks me out a bit in general, though its more i think bc of my fear of being Chased/Hunted ? who knows lmao maybe its not that deep

also!! during my lunch break today i read the first comic in the new bop run and i am SO intrigued by it. as soon as sin was mentioned i was FULLY invested. i am SO curious why the amazons have her i need to know more! i know some hardcore comic fans can be touchy about bop lineup not including some of the core members but i think its always fun to mix it up a little plus this particular run doesnt seem to be erasing or dismissing dinah & babs' relationship which to me is the main thing (love dinahbabs, platonically & romantically) plus i just starting reading the 2000 batgirl run with cassandra cain so its fun seeing her in it, harley's always a hoot and i love her and dinah's general dynamic throughout comics (was it in the injustice world where that panel comes from of dinah & harley talking about motherhood??) and while im not super familar with big barda and i have never heard of zealot before im excited to learn more about them! also i loved the dinahollie interaction at the beginning <33 (i am a dinah multishipper first and foremost btw) and im fascinated by this particular bit with dinah's list of, badass heroes she knows but ruled out of recruiting for whatever reasons

the first side is Barbara, Vixen, Grace Choi, Huntress, Shiva, Selina, Talia, Cheshire. shiva through cheshire being extra scribbled out is so funny to me. other side is a little harder for me to figure out, theres Onyx(i think, had to google if there was even a dc character named onyx, which turns out there is!), almost positive the next one is Katana, and then possibly Manhunter? (kate spencer), Zatanna (which man. that would of been SO cool. i love zatanna. and black canary & zatanna bloodspell was SO good love their dynamic), the next one i got nothing for, all thats visible is "Black" with the other word hidden by dinah's hand, there are a lot of potentials though it kinda maybe looks like the second word starts with an A so after a brief google search maybe black alice??? is she even in the current dc universe? and then finally there's Fire/Ice, which, love that they are a unit not to be separated! i dont know a Whole lot about that duo but from what i do know i think they should be in lesbians with each other. i cannot wait for the next addition, thank you again for putting me on this run!

i think after i finish the 2000 batgirl run i will give injustice a try, and ive also discovered some other bop runs / one offs that im not entirely sure if i've read before that i may have to try out at some point bc i love women. im also sooo tempted to bring my physical comic collection back from my parents house when i go there this weekend and lowkey tempted to reread bombshells ajdslkjga. theres so many comics i would like to read why must there be adult responsibilities such as work.

Caught up to ep 6 of TLOU

Yeah im surprised to learn tht the shows rating is almost a 10. Because if thats how much ppl like it, then oh man ppl are gonna go loco over the games if they ever got around to them. Because its atleast x20 better.

I'll never know what its like to watch the show knowing nothing about the game because I kept comparing.

Some things that changed:

-Tess in the game is a lot more ballsy n dominant than Joel is. She radiated so much of that strong independent vibe tht u NEVER wouldve guessed what happened to her later. In the show, shes more maternal like n dependent on Joel. Showed as having a weak spot for children.

- Joel is kinda weak in the show. Warmer too. Joel in the game? Hohohosh cengey la for a good 3/4 of the 1st game. But most of all, he was ruthless n very good at his job. Emphasis on being very good at his job.

- Ellie. Like I said, she had that charming feature that would definitely drive both the gays n the straights absolutely loco later. You'd think that she's a really cool kid, anybody would. A badass fo sho. In fact, you'd probably have made that connection that shes related to Joel simply because jyeahh the badassness has to run in the fam. They definitely softened her up la in the show for whatever reason.

-The whole Bill n Frank's substpry was hella long tho idk what for n clearly deviates so much from the game which I guess is meant for the flow of the show.

- The infected. Loved the bits where they show you the cordyceps being inside filled up to the brim when you cut em up. That sht is DISGUSTING! N also the little tiny antenna like bits moving from inside the mouth to spread its colony like oooof that wasnt as graphic in the game. That was good.

Bit of a bummer tho how the movements of the infected didnt really work so well bcause some of them still moved like humans. Whereas in the game, they moved in a completely different way - stripped off of any resemblance of a human. It wasnt as believable la to me. They could do better.

Then theres the big mama part. The big ol infected from the ground with its army? Mmmyeah no. What a letdown.

1st of all, that never even happened. 2nd, they totally missed out on implanting fear in the audience up to tht point. N then the direction of the scene n cameras in that scene was rough. It was everywhere n the fear of the infected didnt exactly land the way it should have. Not even close. In fact, I question that they even happened at all up to that point.

My thoughts on Sonic 2 right after my first viewing (HUGE SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE AND POST CREDITS SCENE)

OK SO RIGHT OFF THE BAT, THE MOVIE BLOWS THE FIRST ONE OUT OF THE WATER. MORE LORE, MORE CHARACTERS, MORE ACTION

WACHOWSKI PARENTS ARE CANON!!! SONIC CALLED TOM “DAD” AND THEY WERW LIKE LETS GO GET OUR KID, I WAS SCREAMING

So Longclaw really did die…. ;-; Longclaw lives truthers are probably crying rn. We’ll never forget you

Fan artist and fanfic writers are gonna have a field day

The only thing I kinda disliked was that the wedding and GUN arrest scene went on too long. I turned to my mom and was like “when are we getting back to sonic” but the human characters are all very enjoyable and Rachel was hilarious and gets her time to shine

Sonic and Tails friendship was so cute! Personally, I felt Tails was a little underutilized in the film, but I loved the bond between him and Sonic, and how Sonic quickly became so protective of him!! Quickly stepping into that big brother role!

Knuckles did not disappoint, and he was so badass while also simultaneously being stupid as fuck, we love you king. Easily one of the best characters, everyone in the theater was dying laughing at him, but it never felt like the filmmakers were belittling him or making a joke of him, most of his humor comes from him not understanding earth culture and being so serious and blunt about everything.

Also side note, I found it weird that he’s literally standing 2 feet behind Robotnik and Stone at one point while Robotnik is causally mentioning within earshot how he’s gonna backstab him later to steal the emerald. And he just…. Doesn’t hear or react at all??? They’re right in front of you dude. I guess he was focused on something else lol.

LITTLE BABY KNUCKLES!!! He was adorable and it looked like he had a nice father. Ken Penders is probably throwing a bitch fit watching that scene and we all know it. Die mad about it 💕 We now know what baby Sonic and baby Knuckles looked like, and it’s a crime we haven’t gotten to see Baby Tails yet. O wait…. Tails still is baby….

So stonebotnik is canon right. Or at least as canon as it can get in order to sneak past the censors lol. Stones got it BAD. The maid outfit made me SCREAM

Living Chaos Emerald theory doesn’t appear to be canon, so Sonics powers are still unexplained. Which is weird since they make such a big deal about them in the novelizations and previous movie. Then again, Knuckles has powers and it’s never really explained, so it’s whatever I guess. Maybe they’ll bring it up in the third movie, since a certain you know who is coming ;)

SO MANY REFERENCES TO THE VIDEO GAMES IN THE FINAL FIGHT OMG

SUPER SONIC AHSHDIEKDIIDJEJEJSJD HE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. i was kinda scared for a moment when they were like “that’s not the sonic u know anymore he is consumed by power” and then he summons a chili dog out of thin air and everyone’s like “o never mind he’s fine”

Idk how Robotnik could survive that fall, but Stone is fine so I guess he’s in hiding somewhere. Maybe in movie 3 he’s partially robotizied? Who knows? They never found him but we all know he’s lurking out there

THE POST CREDITS SCENE….. just…. OOF. People in the theater GASPED out loud when they said “we found a file from 50 years ago,” like we all KNEW in that moment. This movie still had its light hearted fun moments in it, but honestly if they’re gonna be covering a Sonic Adventure 2 adaptation, or the third movie is based loosely on it, then I think the third movie is gonna be a WHOLE lot darker. Cause you can’t have Shadow without Maria, and we all know what happened to her….. if sonic 2 is about found family, sonic 3 will be about ANGST

I just watched the JJK 0 movie and I wanna share my thoughts/experience 😶

(May contain spoilers and manga spoilers so be careful! Also the gif is not mine!)

I was pretty pumped because its been awhile since I went into the cinemas and this is actually my second anime movie that I watched (the first one was Weathering with You and the movie is.... a i g h t)

When we were heading for the tickets, I didnt expect for the mall to have quite a lot of cosplayer from different anime or games!

Cosplayers for Demon Slayer (such as Rengoku Kyojuro).

Cosplayers for Genshin Impact (such as Xiao, Hu Tao, Yae Miko, Sucrose, and Albedo).

And ofc cosplayers for JJK (such as Yuji, NANAMI, GOJO, Yuta, Maki, Megumi, and MY BELOVED SUKUNA 🖤).

We took pictures with dem and I felt so giddy!

For the movie (i wont really describe much wot happened in the movie):

the animations was realllllllyyyyy gooood and seeing how Mappa are one of the animators, such plus!

I was kinda surprised that the movie felt short (even if its 1h 40m +), but its packed with a good story and animations 😤

Its a common rule in the cinemas to be quiet, but i didnt expect for people in the back to fangirl every time jjk hotties would appear in the scene (even if they have short screen time and yis am one of the fangirling people- 😩). It first happened when Gojo appeared, even just him taking off his blindfold and people went "EEEEEEE💦💦💦💦"

And EYOOOOOO a scene with Yuta and Inumaki together. Toge was about to use his curse technique but he "warmed up" his mouth (aka let his tongue out in a way) and dat made me feel things dode- 👀

They have cute scenes where the characs would have a cute expressions on them and it just makes me wanna SQUISH DEM. ofc funny bits here and there!

DODEEEE when the spar scene between Yuta and Maki. Just when Yuta thought he could take advantage of her midair and about to land, MAKI DID A SPLIT AND JUST BEAT YUTA'S ASS EIWJSNWNWNBWBSIWSS (I SWEAR MY PANSEXUAL ASS WAS SLIGHTLY SHOOKETH)

It was advised to me to stop reading the manga at 137 for the movie. I was lowkey expecting for Nanami to show up and OFC HE DID, THE PEOPLE FREAKED OUT IN THIRST💧 though ngl, it kinda made me sad to see Nanami appeared and have his badass scene there cause I had flashbacs of wot happened to him in the manga. (If u kno, u kno 🥲)

Ofc Yuta being such a badass boi 🤧 we're all jealous of Rika, i know it- AAAAAAAAA AND OFC 1ST YEAE TOGE INUMAKI, JUST WANNA CRUSH HIM WITH MY LOVE 😭🖤

the ahs seasons and what i think of them:

murder house - when u think of ahs u think murder house. its a classic. some of the most iconic characters, even now. one of my comfort seasons for sure. as much as i love it, its not my favourite. it as amazing tho

asylum - wHEN I TELL U THIS SEASON IS LIKE A FUCKING DRUG I MEAN IT!! its at the top of my list, best season. again has some super iconic characters. for me, as much as it weirded me out, i kinda liked the alien plot. was it the best choice for a side plot??? probably not but it was kinda fun

coven - this is hands down the most iconic season of ahs. its also up there with murder house for the “when i think of ahs i think of this”. again, iconic characters. it has a good plot, good ships, great characters. its an awesome season and i get why people claim it as they’re favourite. but watching this coming off of asylum was hard. bc asylum was AMAZING and this to me was just great. still love it tho

freak show - im gonna be honest, im still not done. it was alright. i liked it more towards the end (i have less then half an ep left) but it was pretty meh. the pepper ep got me in my feels tho. she was by far the best character that season along with dessie. it was decent, not my favourite

hotel - loved it. binged it in like a day. and i loved it. this is the season with the best soundtrack and setting. the hotel was gorgeous i wanna fuckin live there. the plot threw me off a little here and there but ultimately, great season. loved jpm SO MUCH!! best boi fr. and liz and tristan r one of my all time favourite couples of the whole show. it was really good i enjoyed it a tone

roanoke - imma be honest, it started out slow. but like mid episode 4 i think was when it started to get GOOD!! it was definitely the scariest of all of the seasons. but the cinematography was beautiful and the acting was spot on. it was beautiful and if im being brutally honest, was low key scared of the “murder” thing. like i would go down into my basement and yell “mY NAME STARTS WITH A T MOTHERFUCKERS!” but yeah, amazing season and super underrated

cult - FUCK EVERYTHING I SAID ABT ASYLUM BEING THE BEST! cult had me scared, in my feelings, blown the FUCK away by the acting. like holy shit. it was incredible. there were a couple of “oof i dont like that” parts (mainly with kai) but other than that, it was fucking amazing. i was sad finishing it. it made me like pace around the room, yell my ass off at the tv, and i was like ranting abt to my friends who had no idea what the fuck i was saying. outstanding season. but ill forever be pissed that evan didnt win an emmy for kai

apocolypse - its up there with the most iconic. like micheal langdon as a whole is just iconic. the idea of incorporating all of the seasons in that universe together was really interesting. its a solid season with good plot and i really enjoyed it. but i gotta say, my favourite part is that they made madison less of a bitch. dont really have much to say abt this season other then the fact that its iconic and that the gallangdon fandom is dying and we need more stans

1984 - i actually liked it a lot. was kinda bummed that there was no sarah or evan but now that ive finished it, i dont think they would have fit. i think its kinda underrated. it was funny and sad and honestly kinda wholesome. i am pissed with the brooke and montana queer baiting but im a marvel fan so im hella used to it. brooke thompson is the loml tho she is bestest i love her sm actual badass. also jingles needs a hug. big time. and that scene when bobby finally met his dad and they had a really nice moment (i was in tears) but then MARGRET DECIDED TO REVIVE AND STAB JINGLES IN THE HEAD!!! but it was a great watch!!

-he’s super proud of you so he’ll introduce you as his s/o to everyone he meets,,, and if the person he’s talking to also has an s/o??? good lord katsuki would never shut tf up about how much better and stronger and cooler you two were than the other couple

-is not embarrassed about pda. at all. if everyone already knows you’re together than there’s nothing to hide,, he thinks that since he put in all the work to get you to love him than he should be able to reap the rewards,, anywhere. at anytime.

-that being said, he does find showing affection in front of others to be v v embarassing!!! so to combat that he turns it up to 11 and flirts and flusters you so bad so that all the 1A guys just think he’s super cool and manly with u instead of soft

-that being said, the second you guys are alone it’s like a switch has been flipped and you could fluster him only by batting your eyes just right

-insists you ‘cook’ with him. katsuki doesn’t let you do much but like cut up vegetables or stir, but he likes to listen to you talk while he does everything else

-generally pretty touch starved but only really indulges if you make the first move. like, he won’t ever tell you to come sit with him on the couch, but if you sit down?? then immeadiately he’s pulling you into his side and doesn’t let you up until he’s ready to get up as well

-still pokes and flicks and shoves you. also now feels comfortable enough to prank you. he thinks you’re adorable when you get mad enough to yell at him so prepare to be mad a lot.

-tells you he loves you damn near constantly. he wont say it first tho bc ~tsundere~ but after you admitted it first, he’ll say it. and once you know??? then he’s gonna make sure it’s known,,, blasty baby doesnt do anything half-assed esp not something as important as showing his love

-he likes to pick out your clothes for you bc otherwise you’ll walk about looking too cute and its a problem bc he never figured out how to get his hands to stop crackling

-will call you dumbass, idiot, moron, halfwit, klutz, etc in public but in private it’s usually princess or little brat or very rarely baby

hi! im not really an archivist or the best person to ask for a compilation, but i can talk a little bit about their friendship if you like! calling on my talented and dedicated friend @souryogurt64 to fact check and confirm some of these details, if you have time of course!

pete and joe were the founding members of fall out boy, and they met while petes licence was suspended, while arma was a thing. iirc, pete got stranded at a gas station or convenience store or soemthing like that and was approached by this kid who was kind of a fan and struck up a conversation with him. he found out he had a van (which is very valuable in the hardcore world, free wheels) and that he really knew his shit when it came to guitar. he got a ride back home from joe and i think kinda got him to be his chaffeur for a while before asking him to join arma as a touring guitarist because their actual guitarist couldnt make it* (except for the one show where someone cool was gonna be in the audience, he promptly made time to play and joe was booted to merch). apparently joe was hazed sooo bad, they stole his underwear and he called home crying, but he finished the tour. eventually he and pete decided to start a band together, though they didnt have a name, and they started putting out feelers for other members.

from what i can tell from joe, they took "nazi punks FUCK OFF" extremely seriously, and it definitely makes sense for the two of them, a biracial black dude and a jewish kid in the scene. petes super protective of joe, as hes said time and time again: "joes the spazziest kid i know, but hes like my little brother. i can say whatever i want about him but if you do it, ill punch you in the face". being older, it checks out that hed be super protective (kinda like i am of bipoc baby emos and those of religious minorities now lol). theres no way those two didnt get called slurs regularly. i mean im pretty sure joe mentioned getting called the k slur, pete speaks about feeling extremely out of place whenever he feels like it wont harsh the vibe (which i totally understand) but the two of them have a special bond that only two people who experience xenophobic bigotry in the same space can experience.

theres this one interview, i remember pete and joe were both in suits and joe had a very cute ponytail, srar era im pretty sure, at like some after party where joe starts talking at length about the music and the writing process and the composition and #nerdshit and petes just kinda staring at him, like a mentor proudly watching their student completely surpass them. thats the two of em.

i cant point very conclusively of examples of them defending each other from bigotry but i do know joe specifically is SUPER well read on antiblackness and has internalized the fact that hes still white, to the point where during that podcast ive been mentioning (the badass jews podcast) the host gets a little antiblack, kind of blaming the entire black community for the antisemitism of nick canon and jay z and joe very firmly does not buy into it. plus theres the hanukkiah post i referenced in my post btw (thanks to @ofalltheginjoints for digging this up)

im p sure he also posted about it to his story but i cant remember it. anyway the two of them are the blueprint for jewish and black solidarity, and their friendship is the foundation of fall out boy so basically fall out boy is fundamentally and diametrically opposed to racism and antisemitism at its core.

Could u elaborate about the dsmp story being bad? Not a rabid/brain dead fan, just genuinely curious and I enjoy reading people's rants lolol

oh you dont know the floodgates you just opened

a few things:

1. despite not liking the creators of the dsmp anymore, I don't actually hate most of them. [the ones that are particularly unsavory fall outside of this of course] so all that I'm saying i truly mean in a critical sense towards the story, its also just all purely my opinion as someone who enjoys fictional and fantasy stories and who like criticizing works to see what it does well and what it doesn't do well

2. for clarification I'm going to use the c![name] to indicate when I'm talking about the characters. Don't get me wrong, I think its annoying too but its the only way I'm gonna be able to write this thing without getting something across the wrong way yknow?

3. I stopped watching the streams after November 16th, [save for one Techno one but I closed out after a particularly bad story beat lol] and so all information coming afterward is all second hand from either me seeing people on twt talk abt it or people dming me. All i really know is up to dream's imprisonment and some stuff past that.

4. This is mostly aimed towards the "main" story, so stuff abt the badlands, eggpire, and whatnot are briefly mentioned.

anyways uh, i'll try to be brief but also include enough information to get why i feel the way i do on some stuff across

A. Performances Alright obviously these people are all streamers, so obviously they might not be the best actors, and hell no one is even asking that of them. However, when you're telling a story that's based on the audio with the visuals kinda coming to a second, it's gotta be pretty strong. I will say, some of the best actors in my opinion are Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo. I would include Ranboo but I never watched any of his story bits or story streams so I can't say much. Wilbur and Tommy are excellent in selling their character's emotions and feelings, when I watch the stream I don't feel like I'm watching an rp but an actual thought-out story yknow? And one of my favorite Tubbo examples was in the Hog Hunt video whenever Techno attacked him, he sounded genuinely afraid and I believed everything his character was feeling.

However, unfortunately, not everyone is gonna be that good. And I'm gonna say it; Dream and Techno have to be the worst out of the entire cast. I understand Techno's whole character is this monotoned badass, however, when really emotional moments hit I feel like he never lets that fall, and a lot of intense moments just ring hollow. And I'm sorry but Dream's attempts at being intimidating leave me laughing whenever I watch them. It feels like he watched that one scene from The Marriage with Adam Driver and Scarlett Johannson and said "Oh this is what good acting looks like! Just yelling." His whole "I don't give a FUCK about Spirit!" speech isn't as great as people keep making it out to be. And whenever he tries to act coy when being a villain it feels like a guy reading the script for the first time, a bit like he's trying too hard. I have more problems with his character but his portrayal certainly doesn't help.

Everyone else is fine, and I don't feel strongly either way about a lot of them.

B. The "Lore" Okay first off, I can't be the only one who thinks it's silly that people are calling the dsmp's story "lore" when it's not, it's the fucking story. Lore indicates backstory to either the world or the characters, which a lot of the streams don't really pertain to. This is a really petty section but god it's a weird pet peeve of mine.

Other than the misusage of "lore" vs "story", the actual lore and world-building of the world are so lackluster that new elements can be introduced whenever and it often feels cluttered or not well thought out at all. And here's the thing, I feel like if the writers sat down just for a few minutes to establish world rules and general history, a lot of this could be solved! but so much is made up on the spot that it starts to feel like they're grabbing at straws to keep people invested, trying to reach that next high and intense story beat without actually earning it.

C. The Egg / Eggpire This is a pretty minor note since I was only invested in the Egg storyline for a little bit, but god it's so underused that it's almost embarrassing. Bad has provided this super interesting antagonistic force that's infecting the SMP, can control people, and who one of our main character is immune to, and it's just never used or even talked about again? Now I understand if he wanted to keep it to a side storyline only, however, to introduce this borderline eldritch creature and force within the world and then never have it dealt with is so weird.

D. The Writing Oh boy this is. kinda a big one. Now I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty obvious I have a bias for the Wilbur writing over the current team [that consisting of Dream, Quackity, and Tommy mostly]. I don't this his writing is perfect by any means, the characters constantly bringing up traitors got obnoxious after a while, and writing Hamilton but in Minecraft really isn't the modern Shakespeare or anything. However, I think his exploration of characters and plot progression was a lot more thought out and well planned, like he actually had two brain cells behind the story yknow? The current team I think fails to be as emotional or even impactful, things happened too fast and my god was everything drowned in angst for so long.

Don't get me wrong, you gotta have your characters face hardships to make them reach their goal believable, but some of the shit they put the characters through just felt like too much. From c!Tubbo's constant comparison to c!Schlatt [who btw, fucking ordered his death and kept him from his friends in a nation he felt trapped in] and on a side note, i kinda really fucking dislike the "c!Schlatt dad!!" au's or the au's where c!Tubbo inherits some of Schlatt's features, it would be like c!Tommy getting a c!Dream mask after his exile, it's feels so weird yet people eat that shit up for some reason.

But god, did c!Tommy get the brunt of it all and in retrospect after his final death, it kinda feels really fucking gross. Now obviously, I'm not trusting any of these people to write decent mental health representation, but c!Tommy's PTSD and how it was explored was just degrading. [Specifically the scene in that one Techno stream where he saw the final control room from the first war, and had a flashback / panic attack where he started calling out for c!Dream. I understand this is an actual thing people with PTSD will experience, but it felt so fucking stereotypical it got on my nerves. I actually had to close out of the stream because it made me feel sick, fiction shouldn't leave you feeling that way.] And don't get me started on how they basically reused the formula from the previous arc. [Problem introduced -> Tensions rise as things start to fall apart -> Big confrontation -> Exile -> Return from Exile -> Blowing up L'Manberg, again.]

And speaking of characters-

E. Character Arcs, or the lack of them In my genuine opinion, some of these characters' arcs are so disappointing. Especially c!Tommy's. I'm not one to believe that he was a "selfish" character or anything, however, his goals were simply set on his discs and maybe c!Tubbo, he didn't have much outside that. However, L'Manberg gave him something to care about, he gave up his discs for it and he fought for it tooth and nail, I think it taught him to open up to others and trust more. It was a great character arc for him to have, seeing him still fight even after his first exile alongside c!Wilbur, to return safely to the nation that he and his found family had built.

But then his second exile happened, and I feel like all of that was undone.

c!Tommy's exile genuinely pisses me off for so many reasons. It's not that characters can't have their low points after reaching a major change or feeling like they've "completed" their arcs or anything, but it's more of the fact that it seems like he's never going to heal that feels like a spit in the face, especially to people who might have had setbacks like that before. Progress isn't linear, sometimes things happen and you get knocked back down, it can take a while to get back up, but I don't think c!Tommy's character is ever going to be allowed to get back up. From c!Dream, who pretty much was a constant abuser in his life, killing him then reviving him, and his still fractured relationship with c!Tubbo, which by the way I have a had time believing they would still be friends after all that happened, it feels like he can never get a win and it's generally kinda a shit way to treat your characters who have been abused. Of course, not all abused characters are going to get happy endings, I'm not trying to dictate that they all should, but c!Tommy deserves one and the fact that it's so obscure feels shitty.

Side note: we still don't have a canon reason to give a shit abt the discs. Like I'm sorry but without some sorta connection to the MacGuffin why should we give a shit about him getting them other than "he wants them lol". Like hell, I would even accept the classic "they were the last gifts from his parents" or something, but we still don't have a reason.

c!Tubbo also lacks a fulfilling arc as well, from someone who started out as a yes man, he has progressed a bit into having his own interests first, but besides that sometimes his character makes me so. depressed. He's easily one of the most pushed around and hated characters within the story, all for being a kid who didn't know what to do and he's in the same vein as c!Tommy; these kids can't get a break. Also, his anti-violence beliefs morphing into the "lets kill c!Techno lol!" bit was so out of place and without proper build-up it was like. what. And now he's building nukes?? god c!Tubbo makes me so sad because he's kicked around constantly and never given a chance to grow.

Another small note, I also don't really enjoy c!Techno at all. Besides the previously stated reasons of lack of emotions when they're really needed, I find his character to be weirdly pretentious. He talks as if he's constantly been betrayed and hurt but I personally, don't see it? Like, I think one of the main examples was the Pogtopia vs. Manberg war, yknow he wanted to end the government but they just reinstated it after they won = c!Techno upset. But this doesn't make sense to me because why did he think otherwise? The entire time c!Tommy had talked about taking back their nation and starting again, so the fact that c!Techno suddenly thought there would be a sudden change is, to put it bluntly, kinda fucking stupid. I don't want to say that he "plays the victim" or anything because that feels a bit harsh, but his character feels so far up his own ass that I can't enjoy him.

I have a major grip with c!Dream as well, but that's getting it's own fucking section.

F. L'Manberg This is a quick note before we get into the, forgive me for this, endgame, of this entire rant, since the next two sections are tied together. But god, L'Manberg makes me upset because it feels like they gave up on it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that it is supposed to be c!Wilbur's "unfinished symphony", the thing that destroyed a once charismatic and widely loved man, his attempt at power that utterly ruined him. But the fact that it just got blown up in the end after everything and left to rot felt like such a waste of time. From the first war, to Pogtopia, to even c!Tommy's exile, it all felt fucking worthless in the end, and the story is actively closer to how it was when it started now more than ever. I wished it was actually allowed to exist and continue to be a peaceful place in what is a chaotic world, but no it was just snuffed out because why dedicate to this concept of finding others you can band together with and feel safe. fuck that noise apparently?

G. The Villains Now villain-wise, I'm only talking about c!Dream [during the first war], c!Schlatt, and c!Wilbur. And believe it or not, this is actually mostly positive.

Now I'm not gonna lie, c!Dream as a staring antagonist wasn't bad actually, he posed a genuine and threatening opposition to L'Manberg, even if we didn't know his real intentions or motivations as to why he was against it. He's lucky in this sense because he didn't have to be good, he had to be passable. If anything, he felt more like an anti-hero than a tyrant or traditional villain, and my god do I wish he kept this theme going forward.

Now quick disclaimer, I don't like JSchlatt as much as the next guy, he's an adult man who should know better than to joke about some sensitive topics and act the way that he does. But the one thing I'll ever give him is that damn, was he a good actor for his character.

Now here's the thing, c!Schlatt wasn't particularly deep at all. He had no real motivations behind his exile of c!Wilbur and c!Tommy other than getting competition out of the way, had no reason to act the way that he did and yknow? that's fine. The reason why he worked was from his performance alone, he was actually intimidating. When he came onto the stream and was doing his typical bad guy stuff, it was actually intense to see what he would do. Whenever he would almost catch c!Tommy back in Manberg, whenever he would begin to pressure c!Tubbo, it put you on the edge of your seat and it felt like everything would change at the drop of a pen. He's a villain to be a villain, and this works out because he's just charismatic and well put together enough to make it interesting, even without the backstory or motives.

c!Wilbur however, is much more tragic, and the best villain of the story. He essentially was the "mentor turned evil" trope and it felt terrible watching him descend into madness, unable to trust barely anyone except for c!Techno and c!Tommy. Hell, in the end I think he still cared about them both, despite losing everything. Sure, he blew up L'Manberg, but there was still a smidge of the old c!Wilbur in there made everything he did feel melancholic. His death at the hands of his father after achieving his final wish was chilling, and something I still think about.

Until yknow, Ghostbur came back way too soon to let people feel his loss as a character within that world. And then he got revived, pretty much-undoing everything that moment meant for his character lol.

And then there's the worst one:

H. Dream. I'm going to be completely honest, c!Dream is one of the main reasons why I dislike the current dsmp stuff so much. Outside of his actions as a person, the way Dream decided to write his character as this overpowered madman of the dsmp really just. destroyed any intrigue that he could've had. Perhaps this is from my growing dislike towards him, manifesting into a bias towards his character, but god I cannot fathom why people try to insist he's interesting when he has as much depth as a fucking puddle.

And here's the thing, I'm not even entirely against c!Dream being a villain, hell I think he would've been great as an anti-hero if anything. Make him sympathetic but not through c!George to get your precious "DNF" points or anything, but show him actually caring about the people within the dsmp, including c!Tommy and c!Tubbo. This would make his rival status with them just a bit more complicated, sure they're enemies, however, he doesn't want to hurt or kill them, and there's still a level of friendship there that keeps them bonded when things get super bad. This could've been super interesting to see, the first villain of the story receiving a sorta redemption arc then descending into madness as he started to fixate on being a god. This is all how I feel personally, but god do I feel like it would've been better than his current character, and hell would've worked with how he was during the Pogtopia arc, before the war that is. I'm not trying to tell Dream how to write his own character, but there are so many other ways he could've done the madman seeking to become god rather then. whatever the hell we got.

Because instead, we got this power-mad asshole who does things... because he can? And that's one of my major issues: he tries to surround his character in mystery to make him "intriguing" but it's kinda like c!Techno, it comes off as pretentious. Not only that, but you cannot keep waving around this mystery of a backstory without ever actually revealing it. I know the story isn't over, but c!Dream is effectively at his lowest point, now would be the time to reveal his backstory. But no just keep it in the dark and keep everyone guessing, that's totally fun and not at all tiring and annoying. (sarcasm, if anyone needs it)

And back to his performance, he doesn't sell this aloof, cynical and strategic warrior that has perfected the blade or some shit, he comes off as some angry guy yelling on reddit. which i don't need to tell you, isn't intimidating. It feels like he's trying to have c!Schlatt's intimidation combined with c!Wilbur's depth, but instead he's like a little brother who's trying to hard to mimic his older brother and is kinda embarrassing himself.

but other then that i dont feel too strongly abt the dsmp lol

but seriously, these are the main complaints I have abt the story tbh, I could probably talk about more but I wont because man. this is probably gonna get me in trouble if any of the hyper-dsmp fans actually read it.

Okay so it maybe similar to the film Caroline but just a little bit. Yn being orphan living in some old hotel room while working there since young. As a child she discovered old closet in her room that took her to another world (kind of like Alice in the wonderland) and there she meets bts. Her getting older and living with secret of the other world while suddenly on her… birthday the old friends started to act different not wanting her to go. And then maybe she by accident opens a portal that allows not so human friends to step on earth and taking her whole.
