a couple days ago I watched tlj and it’s like. not as terrible as I’d expected but not great either. its potential was definitely wasted :/
#every character ended up in the same place they were at the end of tfa#finn - I LOVE THIS DUDE but he contributed 0 to the plot :’( and therefore no real character development#rey - three words: WHAT THE FUCK. hating > trusting > hating kylo once again like a murderer murders again?? how shocking#why the hell did u trust him in the first place rey#no character development here - except for her jedi powers. but nothing related to her characterisation#poe - just. ????????????????#it does not match up his character in tfa. he may argue with his higher ups but he would NEVER act against them#i dont think#kylo ren - i think his arc is the most POINTLESS here tbh (even more than finn 👀 i have to admit)#weve seen him being conflicted in tfa when facing han and ultimately he chose the dark side#so why are we seeing him being conflicted again?? unless its all an act to lure in rey (lol) but i doubt it bc snoke saw the conflict within#him. like killing his own dad should be enough to show his resolution to stay in the dark side bUT APPARENTLY NOT#although killing snoke is pretty badass but once again why? who was he? what did he want?#luke - i love him. but he was being an ass in this film - refusing to go to his sister after hearing that her husband was murdered by their#own son. and him debating whether to kill kylo.... a mess. also dude whats up w the tiddy milk scene??#leia - MOST PERFECT. although i gotta confess her force scene is kinda sudden and awkward#no opinion about rose really - shes... shes cute but like finn she contributed nothing.#OVERALL no real character development and it sucks to watch#i dont hate the film but i dont love it. its just... okay. i think its bc of the scenery & props & cinematography.
