Im not policing headcanons or anything do whatever the hell you want forever but I will say I don't rlly understand transmasc Michael Afton as a hc and I almost feel it's like..an antithesis to the character . I do not think Michael "I despise myself for looking like a man who has done heinous things" Afton is transmasc. And i think genderless/and or transfem readings of the character just. Fit the themes of Michael more idk

If we're going to be headcanoning anyone as transmasc I think Elizabeth scooping someone's organs out to live gleefully as a man is something very interesting and that's not even touching upon characters like Charlotte who were tomboyish when allowed to grow up and the whole Puppet and Lefty being masc stuff. a few interesting things abt johnny and ralph's dynamic, fr playing life eater for myself:

they listen to what i can only assume are johnny's podcasts together

ralph smokes, but only outside

johnny eats more regularly when he's upstairs, and he seems to wake up more easily as well (eat slowly(x2) vs. eat meal(x3), bleary stare vs. blink awake)

they spend 4/7 of their final days together almost completely by each others' sides, with the only time they're not together being when they're asleep

one of them gets cramps, as you are occasionally given the option to "massage cramp" as an action. you could say that this might be ralph, as it is an older man, but i'd argue that it's probably johnny who gets them, as ralph is more regularly active and johnny was confined for so long before being able to just go around the house as he pleases

there is also a "brush hair" action. i think you can also assume this action is directed towards johnny, as it takes 30 minutes and ralph's hair is pretty short

you can bundle johnny in blankets

ralph has the audacity to hope for something different in the final week. it's also never prayed a day in its life, until the final week that is, as you are given the option of "reluctant prayer" as an action

you sometimes have the option to panic silently for a singular minute and it is a lvl 3 action

dude nightheart and sunbeams entire relationship is so funny. if I felt like digging through other books id make a compilation of these moments. No, Nightheart will not be by Sunbeams side to help her through the invasion of ShadowClan. Nightheart will almost get violently executed in RiverClan, and Sunbeam will only show up after the problem resolved itself (off screen). Sunbeam doesn't even feel like grieving with him around.

this entire arc, every major problem required them to ~sadly~ separate, and then reconvene for some generic niceties after its all over. I really thought, at bare minimum, the reason that kept happening was going to accumulate in them doing SOMETHING major together in the climax of this final book, like, 'something something our relationship can survive all the plot inconveniences that kept us apart bc this event proves why we're stronger as a team blablabla'

but no girl, their asses are NOT stronger together, they are not supporting each other through anything, they are not working together to accomplish a single goal. right to the end, every one of their greatest physical/emotional trials must be done separate

like. like it's incredible. the most go girl give us nothing relationship development of all time. i cant even find it in me to be mad. they are so lame it loops around into comedy. is this a prank why did they write it like this help

can never really stop thinking about the core difference between zoro's sacrifice at thriller bark vs the other major crew sacrifices (robin and sanji) but i can never really articulate it either like. idk. despite all three coming from a place of 'you mean so much to me that im willing to die in exchange for your safety', robin and sanji are both clearly acting under the influence of decades of self-worth issues and being told the world would be better off without them in it, and wanting to be useful in their final act, whereas zoro is...something else entirely.

it's in the way zoro's is an act of defiance right until the end, vs robin and sanji's capitulation. and thats not to say that their sacrifices were lesser or that they just 'gave up' or whatever. robin and sanji were both in awful situations where they were undoubtedly boxed in and had to make snap decisions, but there is something to be said for how they both feel like they have no choice but to shoulder the burden alone and in silence, without giving the crew even a chance to have a say. conversely, zoro makes the offer to kuma when every other avenue has been exhausted and the crew is totally out of commission (though they all made it explicitly clear theyd rather die themselves than hand over luffy).

there's something about luffy (and the crew)'s life being as important to zoro as his ambition, vs luffy (and the crew) being more important than robin/sanji's own lives. as in, the most important thing in zoros life has always been his goal, and he raises the crew to that same level (and luffy even higher) of value, which speaks volumes given his character, as opposed to the others who have never really learnt how to value themselves, thinking of themselves as the outsider that can be easily cast off for the greater good. like...bringing someone up to stand where you are vs pushing someone up above yourself yknow...
