i'm playing a new BG3 file and every time there's an oblique reference to cambions or a particular cambion i'm like the 'awooga awooga' sound byte.

also low-key hilarious because DA4 comes out soon and um, well, i'm a bit scared of how much i'm going to want to write fanfiction for that and i'm staring at my brain like 'oi. OI.' but w/e i wrote stuck on the puzzle super 'late' in that fandom i can be late to veilguard-dreadwolf (dreadwolf was a better name fight me).

time to do some cross-stitch!

ok someone please correct me if i'm wrong but am i weird for thinking those 'audiobooks don't count as reading' posts are ableist as fuck????

#ramble #my first thought was like: how is this even a debate what about blind people. not every book comes in braille but MOST have an audiobook #or dyslexic people #you still enjoyed the book!! you still absorbed it!!! you got EXACTLY the same thing as people who read the words!!!#how does it not count????#i guess you miss out on the 'learning new vocab' you get through seeing the words but also #i don't really do audiobooks but i do a lot of podcasts esp fiction podcasts #and i have ABSOLUTELY picked up new stuff from there that helps with my writing #someone please explain how this is even an argument of COURSE it counts????#idk in my opinion finishing a book means 'i put the words in my brain and i thought about them and i enjoyed a story'#not 'i held a stack of paper in my hands for a bit'#i'm v lucky that i do have time to sit and read. and whenever i commute anywhere it's public transport so i CAN bring a book with me #but if i didn't have the free time or had to drive for hours everywhere i would be STOKED to still get to enjoy books #it's been REALLY bothering me lmao idk why i feel so strongly #for some reason it's giving the same energy as like. being told you can't take a comic or manga from the library bc it's not a 'real' book #of course it's a real book it's a story somebody wrote down #i can see this spiralling into 'if you have a kindle you aren't reading'. you have to sniff the paper. feel the papercuts

Hi it's just to let you know that the official romanization of Revaan's name is Raverne ! Also they have romanized Baul's name to Baur !

Twst coming back at us again with the least expected romanization! thank you everybody (oh god my inbox) (no it's great, I literally asked for this and the reactions have been INCREDIBLE, thank you all!)

I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!

someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)

#ask #non mdzs #My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. listen listen ok i love age gap stuff as much as the next fujo but in zhongven's case the WAY funnier and more accurate dynamic is college prof. zhongli and the guy everyone thinks is his undergrad (at worst) or TA (at best) but who is actually a 36 year old fellow teacher from another university. every time venti visits zhongli on campus for a quickie to bring him lunch, zhongli has to put up with a swirl of rumors about his scandalous relationship with a babyfaced newly-18 year old. students keep showing up after class thinking they can flirt their way out of his notoriously difficult 10 page final exam. his reputation with most of his fellow teachers is so strained and awkward.

2003 Donnie steals tech regularly off of Bishop

2012 Donnie has openly said he steals from military garbage dumps and will snatch any kraang tech he can get his hands on.

Rise Donnie stole the turtle tank and probably numerous other electronics just because he wanted too.

And sure, we haven't seen much with MM! Donnie yet. But he's already helped steal a car, I'm sure he's fine with a bit of thievery himself

I've seen way to many people think that stealing is limited to only certain Donatellos. Nope. All of them have sticky fingers. Stealing tech is not immoral to any Donnie. If they find something and they want it then it's finders keepers for them.
