when you know, you know.
when they realise just how much they love you ft: nikolai, bram, poe part 1 here content/warnings: mentions of murder (poe's ability), shortttt, i tried to keep it as a gn reader but i might have slipped up at points. i wrote bram without the sword and in current day bcs i was struggling dudesss i think this is my first time trying to write for bram and poe so please take these with a pinch of salt but the lovely person who requested it was so polite i couldn't pass it up <3

nikolai was.. lively to say the least. i mean, just having a partner would be (in his eyes) something tying him down. but, for you? being with you would comply with him wanting to be free. you granted him freedom from all of the negative thoughts that could plague him.
walking down the high-street with you, hand in hand as he pondered all of these ideas. the both of you were strolling towards a cafe that kolya had begged to go to for its "famous pirozhki".
he was not in his usual attire today, wearing a simple blue turtleneck sweater and jeans that fit him loosely. you had to admit, he looked close to incredible when you contrasted it to his usual wear. even though his outfit was different, his personality did not falter in the slightest.
swinging your arms forwards and backwards quickly as you walked, he giggled at whatever joke he was thinking of. turning towards him, you smiled. "kolya?" you poked his upper arm for his attention. "what type of bird is that?" you asked, glancing at a small bird hopping through tree branches. as he looked over, it flew away.
his braid fell over his shoulder, laying softly as he considered making a witty joke. the truth of what he was thinking was of how much he adored you, how you pointed out birdies, watched comedy shows with him, tried your best to cook his favourite meals, put up with him using his ability to scare you..
he thought back to earlier, you had brushed his hair into the usual neat braid as he spoke about what tricks he was going to pull on sigma and fyodor too. he laughed as you frowned, claiming "leave sigma alone, he has a casino to take care of, babysitting you is my job."

bram was, aside from being a vampire and that, perfect. his personality was complex, but you often joked that it wittled down to him just wanting to sleep.
today, you were both sat on the sofa as he spoke about aya. you were brushing through his hair. "she was telling me about some artists, i think she meant composers." he explained, going on about music as you giggled. his hair was showing some curls towards the ends that you were entertaining yourself with.
he was kneeling in front of you so that you could face his back and toy with his hair.
"what is amusing?" he asked politely, refraining from turning around incase he messed up the braid you insisted so stubbornly on putting in his hair. you pulled the long braid onto his shoulder and he saw how you had refined the hair past the bobble into a sweet curl.
he smiled softly as you spoke, "what genre do you want to listen to? does aya have any recommendations?" you teased and he let out a soft chuckle. cherishing these sweeter, saccharine moments were as good at keeping him alive as his ability was.
he put up with the garlic jokes, playing dumb vampire films on tv (he really does love hotel transylvania!), the teasing.. all because he loves you !!

poe was like a breath of fresh air to be around. there was never a need to be loud or extroverted with him. and those were just bonuses on top of getting to hang out with a raccoon all of the time. you were currently in another room trying to trim karl's nails.
key word: trying
ed was in the study, writing another novel. whether it's for ranpo or not? who knows. karl wasn't putting up a fight but more so.. wriggling around. any sane person would have given up by now but with the amount of time this raccoon spends around your shoulders? zero chance.
once you finally finished, you swooped karl into your arms and carried him back to edgar. "ed? have you eaten or drank water recently?" you asked, setting down karl and walking over to him as he closed the book before him. he nodded as he looked up to you from his armchair.
"yes, and i have finished it!" he exclaimed, you furrowed your brows in confusion. "finished what, love?" he presented you the book proudly. "it's just like the film we watched a few weeks ago. you said you wanted to live in that manor house, no?" and that's when it clicked for you.
he carried on, "when you want to go, all the characters will be there! i had to add in another to die but other than that? it's the same!" he excitedly explained. tracing over the clothbound cover with your name on the front, he added one more thing. "oh! and to figure it out in one of the office desk drawers it will let you know what happened."
you smiled at that, he didn't want you to struggle. unfortunately, his ability was only murder mystery related so he couldn't write a book about a sunshine land where nothing went wrong. yet he tried his best, for you!

By the time I drive into Birmingham it’s nightfall. It’s no secret that there are Peaky Blinders following me because they’re as discrete as peacocks. I park the car and walk up the path to Ada’s house, spotting Karl in the window waiting for me. The door opens and Ada welcomes me with open arms.
“It’s so good to see you! You definitely need a break from all that testosterone.”
I let out a cross between a laugh and a groan. “Now I understand what you Shelby women go through when men get injured in battle. Every time I checked on Thomas I feared the worst.”
She pulls me into the warm house and leads me to the parlor. “Enough talk of that. Tonight is about us girls, eh? Oh, and Karl too, of course. I sent him to play upstairs.”
“Where’s Polly?”
Ada smirks and lounges on the couch. “Out to see her new portrait. I practically had to kick her out to go have a date for once.”
It’s good to hear she’s finally having a life outside of work! But if I know Polly her son isn’t far away. She clings to him like a mother bear.
“Michael?”
Ada jerks her head. “Asleep across the hall. I think. So...” Her face changes to one itching to talk gossip. “What are my brothers up to now?”
I sigh deeply and sink into my own seat, my head leaning back to stare at the ceiling. “Lord if I know. Might all be off fucking somewhere.” My voice shifts to a quieter tone. “Do you- Do you miss that, Ada?”
The question surprises her. “Sex?”
I swallow my nerves. “Yes.”
She thinks for a minute. “Actually… no. Karl is all I need. I’m a mother, and now an official employee of Shelby Company Limited.” She pauses to look at me. “You’re still a virgin, eh?”
I scrunch my eyes together bashfully. “Yes. And sometimes I feel completely out of place here. I am no holy woman but sometimes I feel as if I’m a nun compared to those brutes. Oh, here.” Before my nerves can wipe my mind clean I hold up the basket I’m holding. “I didn’t know if you’d eaten yet so I brought food.”
Ada claps in delight and jumps up to grab some plates. “Would you like a drink? Wine, rum?”
A drink right now sounds heavenly. “I’m beginning to test wine. Do you have any whiskey?”
Ada rolls her eyes and points across the room. “In the cupboard. God, between you and Michael it’s like Tommy’s trying to get you both hooked on it.”
Eureka! A fresh bottle. I pour a small glass and take a sampling sip. A twitch of homesickness tugs at my heart. Still not as good as vader’s whiskey. It’s been so long since I last saw the streets of Brooklyn. I swear if I stay longer moeder’s going to sail straight over and reprimand me herself.
“Since Tommy’s better now, are you going back to the office?” Ada asks.
I huff a sarcastic laugh. “If I do, Esme's hormones will kill me. Were you like that when you were pregnant?”
The Shelby sister chuckles. “You saw me. I’d eat complete garbage and then throw it up. But I never felt trapped like Esme does.” She takes a sip of wine. “Do you plan on traveling, then? After all, if you're going to work with foreign relations then you need to be elsewhere besides Arrow House.”
“That is true.”
“Now back to sex,” Ada states bluntly and looks right at me. “Do you want it?”
My throat tightens and I almost forget how to breathe. Never in a million years would this be a normal topic to discuss at home. Being a girl with five brothers in a religious household, not mentioning sex is like an unspoken rule. We just don’t. But being placed in an environment where mentioning sex is like talking about the weather has certainly changed my perspective on things. Not mindless lustful thoughts, no. But more curiosity.
“I- I… It’s complicated. The idea of sex seems scandalous if one is not married. You of all people know how hard things are if you have a child out of wedlock.” Ada nods and expects me to continue. “I’ll go on a date first, Ada.”
She smiles and shakes her head. “So proper. Why don’t you try for Tommy again? I’ve never seen him keep a girl around this long and not fuck her. He must have some feelings for you.”
Deep down I know she’s right. I’ve been dancing around the chance to ask Thomas if he cares for me and I should not any longer, especially after the last attempt on his life.
“I could try… But when would be the best time? He’s too busy with whatever plan he’s got.”
Ada snaps her fingers. “In two days we’re doing a publicity event at the Grace Shelby Institute for Orphaned Children. After that his schedule shouldn’t be busy. You can ask him then.”
Possibly. But I still have doubts. This event is taking place at an institute named after Thomas’ late wife. How can that not stir up recent sorrows? It will be foolish to ask such a thing in that environment. 
“Something will fall into place,” I answer gently. “The right time will come.”
Ada gives a deep sigh. “You’ve always backed off about your love for Tommy, Verena. My question is, after all he’s done, how can you still harbor feelings for him?”
My gaze catches onto a bird in flight outside the window. In the glimpse of a few seconds I ponder her question and deduct a response to soothe both our minds.
“Because people never see Thomas as I do. They only see the Birmingham devil who won’t hesitate to kill. I see a tortured soul who’s persevered through war, loss, and hardship. Even when he may do the most stubborn, arrogant thing he does it all for the ones he loves. That, Ada, is what I love most about Thomas Shelby.”
Although I can’t have him or force him to feel the same, his mark on my heart will never fade. As hard as I try to see past it and stretch my romance to someone new the thought does not take hold. When I picture the future all I want to see is being in a life with Thomas, whether it be as an employee or a good friend. A new realization dawns and I understand my given sentence. I have been cursed to love Thomas Shelby.
All night I drift in and out of visions. Through quick glances I am scolded by my family, cheered on by Ada, and taunted by seeing Thomas’ lips mere inches from mine. Each time I wake up gasping for breath and reaching for nothing in the inky darkness. Lord, what can change so that I don’t feel so confused?
Eventually morning does come and I slowly trudge down the stairs. In the dining room I see Ada and Karl eating oatmeal. One skinny man sits a few seats over reading the paper. Must be the writer. Another face I recognize is Finn, who’s scarfing down his own oatmeal.
“Good morning,” I greet quietly and take a seat next to him. “Did Ada spill that I was here?”
“Actually he just popped in,” Ada says. “When I mentioned you were upstairs Finn was ecstatic. Hence why he’s waiting for you and devouring half of our breakfast.”
Finn swallows and looks down with a sheepish frown. “I can’t help it! No one made breakfast this morning. Polly’s still gone and the others haven’t come back from the whore house yet.”
I nearly choke on the juice I’m drinking. “Whore house? Finn, what are you talking about?”
“Last night,” he says as if I should already know. “The Russian house they went to is supposed to have all sorts of whores.”
My jaw drops. Two of the three of those men are married, and the other is grieving his wife! 
“What the fuck is going through their heads?” I blurt.
Now Finn’s jaw drops and Ada rushes to cover Karl’s ears. The writer looks at me as if I just barked like a dog.
“Whoa. You swore.”
I offer Ada a look of apology and regain my composure. “I have full confidence in my character compared to some. One swear is not going to cast out my soul.”
“If you're upset at that then you really won’t like it when you hear about the robbery Tommy has planned,” Finn says in a low voice.
Robbery? So that’s what Thomas has been hiding.
“When are they supposed to be back?” I ask evenly with spite hidden underneath, staring straight ahead.
“I donno. Sometime this afternoon?”
“Good. We can kill some time until then. Today’s lesson is poetry.”
I stiffly get up and march to Ada’s library, fetching a familiar book I saw last night. When I return to the dining room Ada’s taken Karl off to play and the writer’s set down his newspaper to take part in our lesson. Finn, however, doesn’t look as intrigued. I set the book down in front of him and he frowns as soon as he looks at the first page.
“Um, no offense, but that’s boring stuff only writers study. Like Shakespeare and stuff.”
I put my hands on my hips. “Says the man who used to hate reading. I’m not teaching anything of the heartfelt romantic sort.” I’m way too stressed about that already. “Today’s lesson has to do with Edgar Allan Poe.”
“An American?”
“Correct. Quite an odd one, at that. Some say he was mad.” I point to the back cover. “This is his picture.”
Finn nods slowly. “He does look bonkers.”
“A hundred years ago it was considered a sign of insanity if you smiled in a photograph.” I point a finger at him. “Remember, no one can define normal. A hundred years from now we might have completely different standards. Hell, it might be normal for women to wear trousers. So don’t judge Poe so harshly.”
I turn to the page describing Poe’s history and I can tell Finn’s already forgetting his thoughts against this lesson. The writer, on the other hand, doesn’t seem interested and walks off towards the parlor.
“He was born in Boston, the same place Thomas is expanding to, and raised in Virginia. That’s in the South,” I explain. “By the time he was thirteen, Poe loved writing poetry but his foster father didn’t approve. After returning from being in debt to college and gambling, Poe found out that his fiancée was engaged to someone else.”
Finn looks up at me and we’re each thinking the same thing. Much like me, Poe’s story does not have a happy ending.
“Heartbroken, Poe moved back to Boston. He published his first book and joined the U.S. army around 1827. By the time he returned to Virginia, his foster mother had died of tuberculosis. Poe temporarily made peace with his foster father while he attended West Point but fought with him again after hearing that his foster father had remarried.”
Finn huffs. “Sounds like when we’d argue with our dad. This Poe bloke didn’t have the best dad either.”
I nod and continue. “Poe began writing full time and traveled around America’s East Coast looking for inspiration. He struggled through poverty until his writing became more popular and he began a job as a critic in the Southern Literary Messengers. His new aggressive style and issues with drinking conflicted with his job. He drifted through different publication positions but it was The Raven poem that made Poe's writing so popular.” I flip the page to one with an illustration of a black raven. “It's one one of the most famous poems in American literature.”
Finn nods. “All this fuss over a creepy bird?”
A smile deviously. “Just wait and we’ll read it. Anyways. In 1836, Poe married his cousin Virginia at age 27- I know. Gross, right? Eleven years later she too passed away from tuberculosis. Poe was overcome by grief and suffered from poor health until his death in 1849. His final words were: ‘Lord, help my poor soul.’”
Finn’s eyes widen and I lean in to whisper for dramatic effect.
“It’s said that Poe died of congestion of the brain, but the actual cause of his death remains a mystery. Although he never gained financial success, Poe became one of America’s most enduring writers. His work explored death and loss, and what we call reality. Some quotes you might hear are ‘All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream’ and ‘I have no faith in human perfectibility.’”
The young Shelby drops his gaze to the poem and immediately starts skimming the words. It takes a bit longer to understand the language but I’m impressed at how quickly he picks up. Mouthing the words under his breath, Finn takes almost twenty minutes to read the whole poem. When he gets to the last sentence Finn’s squirming body stills and he looks up.
“Tommy might want to read this. It’s-”
“I don’t think Thomas would like it,” I cut him off. Oh no, Finn. Thomas does not need to read depressing poems from a heartbroken writer.
“Why not?”
I bite my lip. “You read it. It’s about a man reminiscing about his dead lover. It wouldn’t be wise to expose Thomas to a poem with a plot that reflects his own.”
So goes another reminder of why I can’t yet fully open my thoughts to him.

Washington, DC. Three cities in as many days, but even with morning sickness doing its best to keep Casey down, nothing could contain her joy. She was simply glowing on Tobias’s arm as they walked down the street to Vivian's townhome. An impromptu visit to share some wonderful news. But she couldn't understand why Tobias was suddenly so quiet.
"Why are you nervous?" she asked. "Your Mom's been waiting for this news forever. There's nothing to worry about."
"I'm not nervous!" He insisted, but the way his hand kept tightening around hers said otherwise.
"Yes, you are. But I think it's cute. This engagement and pregnancy have brought out a side of you I never expected to see, and it's endearing."
"Well, don't worry, hon," he smirked as he rang the bell. "I'm still the same sarcastic asshole you fell in love with deep down inside."
"Thank God for that!" Casey laughed. "But you never answered. Why are you so nervous? Having second thoughts?"
He shot his bride-to-be a wicked look as they heard Vivian approaching. "Seriously? I just never arranged to have a crash cart present," he winked. “This may be where we lose my Mom.”
"Tobias, this better be good!" Vivian admonished as she opened the door. "The last time you needed to see me out of the…." she stopped cold, looking at her son, then Casey, and back again. “Casey!” She exclaimed, pulling the younger woman into a hug. “I didn’t realize you were coming too."
"Because you'd ask too many questions if you know," her son simpered. "Do I get a hug too?"  
"Sure," Vivian smiled, leading them inside. "I was worried you were coming to tell me you had done something stupid, and she left you."
"Oh, no," Casey insisted. "Nothing like that. I mean, he does stupid things…."
"On the daily…." Vivian agreed.
"… but I'm not going anywhere," Casey grinned.
"Good to know. Now, can I get you two something to drink? You've had a long trip. I'd call for Karl, but he has the morning off, so I can…."
"No, no need for that right now, Ma. Just sit down."
"Hmm, I don't like the sound of that. What are you about to tell me that I need to be sitting for?"
"Ma," Tobias laughed, "Please?"
Vivian glanced over at Casey, and when she saw her smiling pleasantly, she took her seat.
"Go on…"
Tobias slid closer to his fiancée on the expensive antique sofa, smiling softly as he remembered the first time he brought Casey there. She was terrified to touch anything. “Everything cost more than I’ll make in a lifetime!” she fretted. But now she looked so relaxed and at home. He took her hand as his chest filled with warmth. They may have come from different worlds, but they were creating their own together, and everything fit into place.
"Well, Ma," he sighed, "Casey and I have been together a while now, and I think you know how much she means to me. I’m crazy about this woman."
Vivian sat up taller, her eyes flickering to Casey's hand, but when she saw nothing there, she looked at her son again.
"Continue…"
"Mom, I asked Casey to be my wife…" he beamed as his mother let out an audible gasp.
"…and I said, yes!" Casey excitedly jumped in.
"So, you're going to get yourself a daughter-in-law!" he gushed.
The happy couple turned to Vivian, eagerly anticipating her reaction, but she sat silent, her right hand placed across her chest.
"Mom? Did you hear us? We're getting married? You know, what you've been nagging me to do since the day you met her.”
"I thought she’s been nagging you since you were in college?" Casey asked. 
"It’s intensified since I met you.”
"Oh, I see," Casey smiled. "So, Vivian? You're giving me a complex… do you approve?"
Vivian shook her head and willed herself back to reality. 
"I’m sorry,” a dazed Vivian responded. “Did you say you’re engaged?”
“We sure did!” Tobias chirped. “As in, we’re getting hitched.”
“Oh, my!” Vivian exalted, fanning herself feverishly with her hand. “Oh, my! This is really happening?” She looked at Casey, as if she couldn’t trust her son with a reply. “He’s not joking, dear. This isn’t one of his foolish pranks now, is it?”
“Of course not!” Casey assured. “We wouldn’t joke about this. Looks like I’m going to be a Carrick.”
Vivian visibly quivered as she began to gasp. “Oh, my! Oh, my!”
“Ma, you gonna be OK?”
“Oh my, I… I can’t believe this!” Vivian squealed as delight finally started to overtake her shock. Jumping to her feet, she pulled the couple into the tightest of hugs. “I can’t believe this!” she yelled, as tears began to fall. “I’ve waited so long. I had all but given up on this man!”
“Well, it took someone special to get me here,” Tobias stated.
“And special she is!” Vivian gushed. “You, my dear, were certainly worth the wait!”
“Oh, Vivian!” Casey smiled as the two women embraced.  
“Now! Where is the ring?”
Tobias chuckled as he took the ring from his pocket and returned it to its rightful place on Casey’s finger.
“It’s right here. No way I could have let her walk in with this on her hand. You would have sniffed it out in a second.”
“A half-second,” Vivian scolded as she examined the glistening gem.
“Well, this is beautiful! Tiffany’s?”
“Of course,” Tobias nodded. “You raised me right.”
“I did. Wonderful job, son, but why didn’t you contact me? You could have selected one of the heirloom rings.”
“I didn’t want an heirloom. I wanted us to start a tradition of my own.”
“And I think that’s lovely!” Vivian approved. “But don’t worry, Casey! Now that you’re going to be family, we’ll visit the vault, and you can select other family jewels of your own. You’re certainly entitled.”
Casey’s eyes opened wide. “Family jewels?”
“Yes, baby,” Tobias reassured, “jewelry, not the family jewels you normally play with.”
“TOBIAS!” The two women yelled in unison as he fell into a fit of laughter. 
Vivian playfully smacked her son, then led Casey back to the sofa. 
“Now, darling,” she spoke sweetly. “I need to ask. Are you sure about this?”
“MA!” Tobias demanded. “Are you being serious here?”
“Shhh!” Vivian scolded. “Son, this conversation is between Casey and me. If your input is needed, we will consult with you. But I think we’ll do just fine without it.”
“You’ve been waiting on this forever, and now… you’re….”
“… ensuring this beautiful young woman knows what she’s getting herself into.”
“Do you mean the whole Carrick family legacy,” Casey stuttered, “Because I think I’ll be able to….”
“No, no, dear! I have no doubt you will do our family proud. But I know my son, and he’s wonderful, but he’s a lot. Are you sure you’re ready?”
“I know exactly what I’m getting myself into,” Casey laughed as Tobias cursed under his breath. “I adore your son and will do everything I can to make him happy. Vivian, this is just as much a dream come true for me… as I hope it is for you.”
With that, the waterworks began to flow, and Tobias dutifully handed his mother a tissue. 
“The two of you have made me so happy,” she cried. “So, so happy.”
After a brief period of gushing and hugs, Vivian returned to business mode so fast it could have delivered whiplash. “Now, we have work to do! Have you selected a date yet? I’ve had a guest list made up. Are you considering DC for the wedding? Of course, Boston or Philly would be delightful, too. Typically I would say at least a year, but nine months is sufficient with my connections. I don’t want to put it off too long lest Casey comes to her senses….”
“Oh, I’m not coming to my senses,” Casey sputtered, laughing as Tobias glared in her direction. “I mean, I’m not changing my mind.”
“Good!” Vivian delighted. “So, when?”
“Well…” Casey sighed, “you mentioned nine months….”
Vivian grabbed her phone from her side table. “That would put us in June! PERFECT! We could…”
“No, Ma. June won’t work for us.”
“And why is that? Because that horrible woman you were seeing was named June, we can get past that.”
“No!” Casey laughed, “It has nothing to do with that.”
“We want to do it quicker,” Tobias informed. “And smaller.”
“Smaller?” Vivian grumbled. “How small are we talking?”
“Just the people closest to us,” Tobias replied.
“Bold of you to assume I would say yes to something like that, son!”
“Well, it’s not exactly going to be your choice,” Tobias scolded. “We want it small, and we want it very soon because,” He smiled at Casey, who nodded. “Casey’s pregnant, and we want to be married as soon as possible.”
Vivian’s eyes fluttered as she fell back in her chair, a shuddering breath escaping her.
“Did you say….”
Tobias wrapped one arm tightly around Casey, placing his other hand gently upon her stomach. “She’s pregnant, Ma. We’re going to have a baby.”
“A bay. A baby… You better not be joking.”
“I may be an idiot, but I know better than to joke with you about that!”
“Oh, my God. Oh, my God!” Vivian gushed, attempting to stand up but sitting immediately back down. “I’m sorry, I’m feeling a little faint. Are you sure?”
“Yes!” Tobias and Casey insisted.
“Oh my, God… I need you to come over and hug me because I cannot stand up right now.”
Tobias rushed to hug her, but she stopped him short.
“I’ll hug you in just a second, but I need to hug Casey first!”
Vivian looked Casey in the eyes as she walked over, lovingly touching her belly. 
“You know, my son’s not wrong. Only someone extraordinary – or an act of God – would make him want to settle down. Though I tortured him for years, I never believed this day would come until I met you. You’re the real deal, Casey MacTavish. I knew from the start that you were the only one. You’re the only one who could share the kind of love his father and I had. That’s all I ever wanted for him. I am sure glad you are the one!”
“She sure is,” Tobias beamed.
“Son, I’m overjoyed.”
“But not as much as we are,” Casey smiled.
“Good,” Vivian choked up. “That’s exactly how it should be!”
Vivian spent the rest of the day doing everything possible to pamper her daughter-in-law-to-be, regaling her son about how happy he made her, and insisting that she could put a dream wedding together in their two-month timeframe. “Even if I have to hurt someone to make it happen.”
“You know,” she took Tobias’s hand as they walked to the door. “Your father would be so proud!”
“I know,” he smiled wistfully. “I told him, and… I could feel, Ma, I really could.”
Vivian lifted her hand to her son’s face, brushing his cheek with her thumb. “I’m sure you did.”
Casey buckled herself into her seatbelt as Tobias entered the driver’s side door. 
“I can’t believe it,” she smiled. “We’re engaged!”
“And you’re having my baby,” he added.
“I know! And this isn’t breaking news for us, but something about telling your mother just makes it feel very official. Is that weird?”
“Not weird at all, my love. First, I know neither of us wants to back out, but she’d hunt us down and kill us if we did. Well, me. She’d kill me. You she’d hold captive until the baby was born, then she’d take you out.”
Casey shook her head and grimaced with a laugh.
“This conversation turned awfully macabre.”
“Well, spooky season is almost upon us.”
“Come here,” she said, pulling him into a tight embrace. 
“Are you happy?” she whispered.
“I’ve never been happier in my life,” he breathed. “And you?”
“Oh, Tobias, I’m over the moon, giddy, school-girl-in-love kind of happy!”
“Good,” he pulled away and cupped her face in his hands. “You and me… about to be married with a baby on the way. How did we end up here?”
“Well, it was a winding road, but we’re finally home.”

Summary: A couple of nights out, that the local adults certainly aren't supposed to know about. But definitely does. And the things that happen at those parties. College AU SBI!reader.

You are casually chatting along with Karl, and a very drunk Quackity. The music is loud in the house. You don’t remember whose parents own the house, it's more likely it's an involuntary frat house. But it sure isn’t a place you are used to coming to. You can spot Sapnap as he makes his way over to the three of you, and before you know it.
Sapnap pulls you along onto the dance floor, barely giving you time to put your drink down. You are already a good few drinks down and can’t help but feel like floating as he drags you along. A giggle passes your lips as you make your way into the dancefloor.
The music is loud, and while you have never heard this song before, you feel like you know the lyrics to it.
Sapnap places his hands on your hips as the two of you dance.
It’s nice, it’s fun.
It’s not what you are supposed to be doing.
Because as far as your family is aware, you are sleeping nice and soundly at home, and not out drinking and partying.
Well, most of your family, you could have sworn you saw your brother, Wilbur, in the crowd earlier. But what he doesn’t know. Won’t hurt him.
“Having fun tonight?” Sapnap’s voice breaks you away from your though. His face is suddenly a lot closer than before. His warm breath hitting your ear as he whispered. A grin works its way onto your own face.
“With you? Of course.”
It’s loud. It’s warm. It’s crowded.
Yet there is nowhere else you would want to be for the night.
Sapnap pulls away from your ear again, mouthing along to the song that’s playing. And the two of you dance, losing yourself to the crowd. Losing yourself to the music. Losing yourself to each other.
None of you have count on the number of songs that pass by. Each one seemingly bleeding into the next, and your energy never-ending. Your dancing ever the fun.
You can feel his hands as they glided over your body, seemingly exploring all of it. And you enjoy it, egging him on as you dance. You dance only for him. Matching your hips to the rhythm. Your eyes locked on his. His hands locked on you.
A cheeky wink from you timed to the music, is all Sapnap needs for him to pull you close against him once again. His lips ghost over your ear.
“You look great in blue.”
His touch goes from warm to hot, seemingly setting you ablaze. His lips trailing over your neck. Down to your shoulder. From your shoulder back to your neck. His teeth grazing over your neck lightly before he continues back up to your ear.
You can feel him whisper something to you, but you have lost most senses. Only able to focus on his touch. As his fingers grip you tighter.
He pulls his face back, and you lock eyes with him. A smirk is eminent on his face.
It’s clear to him, it’s clear to anyone taking a glance at you. He is driving you wild.
His left-hand leaves your side to cup your face. He pulls you in slowly, and you more than willingly follow along. His lips ghosting over yours once more. For a second, it’s just the two of you. Just for a second. But only for a second. Then the spell breaks.
“Fuck.” Sapnap mutters and pulls away. His hands letting go of you completely, and suddenly you are forced to stand on your own. You feel a bit disorientated at the sudden pull back to reality.
Sapnaps eyes are locked on something a bit behind you, a string of curse words seemingly leaving his mouth. You’re unsure if he’s muttering or talking. The music overpowering them either way.
You turn around to find what has brought him to pull away.
And there in the outskirt of the dancefloor stands a tall pink-haired guy, holding a brunette slumped against the pink guy. Or as you formerly know them, your older brothers Techno and Wilbur. They seem to be looking for someone, as Techno seems to be looking through the crowd that has assembled on the makeshift dancefloor.
Sapnap leans over to your ear once again.
“Does your dad know that you are out?” This time he’s yelling, no longer intimate or secretive whispers.
“No!” You yell back to him.
“Do you think they’re looking for you?”
Techno catches your eyes and raises a hand. Answering Sapnaps question for you.
You manoeuvred your way through the dancing crowd, leaving Sapnap alone. Approaching your brothers. You cast a glance back to where you stood, Sapnap already gone in the crowd. You try not to look disappointed, as you look back at your brother, but one raised eyebrow from Techno is enough to tell you, you failed to do so.
“Drunk?”
“Drunk.”
You sigh, as you guide Wilburs arm over your shoulder, and the three of you head into the night and down the street. A couple of minutes passes, and Wilbur starts to mumble about his big plans for the future.
You and Techno share a laugh at your brother's expense in the night. The inevitable scolding from Phil far away in the future.
It takes you exactly three weeks before you have done enough chores to get ungrounded. Although all three of you had snuck out in the middle of the night. You and Techno had been responsible enough to bring Wilbur home without trying to drive, and you had even woken Phil up yourself when you got home. Although you were pretty sure he had heard you from the moment you had stepped through the door. And Wilbur had decided that the hallway would be a perfectly good place to take a nap.
But that was three weeks ago, and now is now.
You have the clothes you want to wear in your backpack, along with your laptop and a physics book to make it believable.
While you don’t pride yourself on being a party animal, it doesn’t hurt to participate when invited. And especially not when Sapnap himself invites you.
“Bye Dad!” You yell out as you pass the kitchen. Phil sitting on his laptop, with Tommy beside him looking close to crying in frustration over homework, and Wilbur seemingly trying to cook something up. Keyword trying.
“Wait up!” Phil yells out, making you stop in your track. “Come in here.” You slowly backtrack your steps, making you stand in the doorway of the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” He squints his eyes at you, before looking you up and down. Tommy mouths ‘someone is in trouble’ to you. And you resist against, in all better judgement, to hit him.
Instead, you lift your backpack, “Study session at Karls, remember? I’m staying over for the night.”
Wilbur decides now is the perfect time to join the conversation, a playful look on his face. He knows exactly what’s going to be happening at Karls place tonight. Despite still being grounded, you know you will see him there later tonight.
“Study session huh? I thought you had study group on Wednesdays?” Wilbur brings a hand up to mimic a thinking position.
Fuck.
“I do!” Was that too quick? You look back at Phil, “I do.” You repeat yourself, “It’s just for my physics lecture, got a test on Monday.” Phil seems to not completely buy it. “Besides Dad, I am ungrounded after all, you said so yourself yesterday.”
Phil hums. “I did say that…” He looks you over once more. “Alright. At least let Techno or Wil drive you.”
That decision is easy enough for you.
“TECHNO! DAD SAYS YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ME!” You yell into the house. You swear you can hear your brother grumble about having to drive you from upstairs. But you elect to ignore it.
You look back over at Wilbur who is now discarding his apron in favour of getting out of the house. He knows if he can play his cards right, he can make Techno stop at the music store. And he might just be able to catch his totally secret girlfriend Sally for a couple of minutes. Not like he won’t be seeing her tonight.
You listen as Techno walks down the stairs. Now audibly complaining about being the only responsible driver in the house.
You would drive yourself, but having one car for four people to share isn’t exactly great. You tried having a driving plan once that you could put yourself on when you needed to borrow the car. It ended up with a month of Wilbur hogging the car. So now instead, you all just always drive each other around like soccer moms.
Techno looks annoyed at you as he passes the kitchen. But you know if he was truly annoyed he just wouldn’t have come down at all.
You turn to follow Techno into the hallway but are still able to overhear Phil questioning Wilbur on where he is going.
“To drive with them of course.”
“You’re still grounded.”
“C’mon Dad, Phil, Philza, it’s just a drive, it’s not like I would be seeing anyone.”
“Fine.” Despite not being able to see Phil, you know your dad is trying his best not to smile at Wilbur’s antics. “Just a drive. You probably need to get out of the house anyway.”
And that’s enough for him to end in the backseat of the car. Tagging along.
You automatically go for the AUX, as the designated DJ in the front seat. You barely get to press play, before Wilbur has started a conversation. A conversation that is closer to an interrogation.
“So Karl’s place to study, huh? Nothing to do with what’s going to happen tonight at all?”
“Oh please.” You turn your head to look back at Wilbur. “As if you won’t be there too.”
“Techno is gonna be there too!” Wilbur whines, as if it would make the situation any better.
“Wait, really?” You look over at Techno, turning forward in your seat once more.
“Yeah, Dream won at practice the other day.”
“How?” “You lost?” You and Wilbur speak at the same time.
“The guy put oil on my sword, so I dropped it.”
You snort, and Wilbur laughs. “So much for Techno Blade never loses.”
“Oh, shut up the two of you. At least I’m not grounded.”
“Hey!” Wilbur shouts.
The car ride passes with sibling banter, and a couple more jabs at each other before you are pulling up to Karls house. You quickly get out and yell a quick “See you later!” before heading over to the front door. You smile to yourself as you overhear Wilbur asking if they can stop by the music store as he changes from the back seat to the front seat.
You listen as the car pulls away, and you get to ring the doorbell.
A flustered Karl throws open the door. Loudly greeting you, before pulling you into a hug.
“You made it! I didn’t think you would, but then again Sapnap did invite you. But you did say no the other couple of times and-”
“I get it Karl, but I’m here now.” You smile at him, letting him breathe. He giggles. “Can I come in?”
“Oh yes! Of course! Of course! Come in.” Karl guides you into the living room, closing the door after you. You stand awkwardly in the doorway until Karl grabs your wrist and leads you over to the sofa telling you to sit down.
You kinda expected more people to be here. But instead, you are met with the familiar faces of Karl and yours friend group. Not to mention a couple of Wilburs friends. Not that the small town is big enough for everyone close in age to not already know each other. The community college isn't exactly helping either.
You can already feel tonight will have a different feeling than last time. Way more down to earth, and way more chill.
Quackity falls into the seat beside you and offers you a drink, which you happily take. “It’s nice to see you not all dressed up you know.” He tells you. Suddenly you’re happy you didn’t change at home, not that you had much of a choice.
“Yeah, it’s nice not to be all dressed up.” You say, taking a sip, as you eye your backpack that was placed against the wall in the living room.
“I hear both your brothers are gonna be here later. I can’t believe Phil just lets you guys go out. My mom thinks we are studying for English class.” Quackity complains. "I hate still living at home."
“Oh no, you have it all wrong, Phil doesn’t.” You laugh, a bit dry, but it is what it is. “He thinks I’m here for a study session for my physics lecture, Wilbur is still grounded for the last time the three of us was out, and Techno is only coming because he apparently lost to Dream at fencing practice.”
Quackity snorts, “Techno lost to Dream?”
“I know! That was my reaction too.” The two of you share a laugh.
“I can’t believe the Minecraft household is filled with degenerates.” He feigns a disappointed tone.
“You aren’t that much better.” Sapnap buts into your conversation. You hadn’t noticed him walking in. Quackity lifts his hands in defeat and gets up from the couch. Only for Sapnap to quickly takes his place.
“I’m guessing by that your dad doesn’t know about tonight either.” He teases you, and you look away for a moment, your purple drink suddenly very interesting.
“He does, sorta, not. He thinks we are here to study.” You give Sapnap a weak smile, and he chuckles at your antics.
You barely miss him muttering, “Cute.” Underneath his breath.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
And then silence falls upon the two of you. You want to keep him talking, of course, you do. How could you not want to? It’s Sapnap.
Every time he speaks, you want to cling to each word and hold it dearly. Instead, you flash him a smile, and he smiles back. Before looking away, and you can’t help but feel a bit defeated at that.
However, you are saved by Karl hooking up his phone to a speaker and way too loud music blasts into the living room.
It takes a good half-minute before the volume is lowered enough for it to be background music, and it takes even longer for anyone to agree on what playlist to be put on.
The afternoon bleeds into the late afternoon, and more people have decided to join. You now share the three-person couch with two more people, leading to you being pressed up again Sapnap. Not that you are complaining.
Wilbur and Sally have arrived too, already sitting on the floor together. Already - as your youngest brother Tommy would say - already sucking each other’s faces dry.
Techno seems to be the last person to join the gathering, bringing beer too. Of course, you can’t help but think. Of all the people he’s the only one of the three of you, that could ever make Phil buy any of you beer.
"Techno is the most responsible of you four."
"C'mon on dad! This isn't fair!"
"Exactly! I understand her, but daaaad we're both 20 why do you want to help him but not me?"
"Shut up Wilbur."
You are in a heated conversation with Karl about the right way to read document history. When you notice a touch on your left side. You stop midsentence, Karl doesn’t notice and keep arguing his side. But Sapnap does.
You can feel a pair of eyes on you, as you look down to see his hand around your waist. Neither of you have talked to each other since the quick conversation. Then Dream and George had each pulled up a chair nearby the couch and the three of them had talked since then.
Suddenly you get hit with the thought, that maybe, despite all better judgement, just maybe. What happened a couple of weeks ago wasn’t just because you were the nearest person. Just maybe it was because Sapnap actually looked your way.
You don’t let the thought get to your head too much, because the second you look at him. He’s back in his conversation with Dream and George about something you don’t really care about from the sounds of it. You shake your head; you must have been imagining stuff. He didn’t look at you.
You get two more drinks in you, as the evening passes on, and Sapnaps hand seems to find its way onto your thigh. You have no intention of getting drunk, but the feeling of Sapnaps hand on you seems near addicting.
It’s nearing midnight when a less than sober Dream suggests a game of Truth or Dare.
Techno complains against it as the only one, stating “We aren’t middle schoolers.”
So you play truth or dare.
The first couple of rounds starts innocently enough, the mood is good. Everyone is having fun. You are enjoying yourself, listening to embarrassing stories, to creating new ones alongside your friends. Finding yourself curling into Sapnaps side just a bit more.
He doesn’t protest or say anything against it, so you take it as a win, and keep leaning against him.
Then a drunk Quackity gets his turn and asks George for his worst hook-up. And the energy in the room changes. From then on the innocent truths and even more naïve dares are out the window. For stories about peoples experiences, and dares that seemingly gets riskier and riskier.
You manage to dodge most questions, keeping to the truth after that point on. Until you are unable to.
“Don’t be boring! Choose dare!” George eggs you on, and you give in. Anyone would give in, you swear the guy has pretty privilege. Most of the living room cheers.
“I have a good dare.” Dream says.
“Too bad it’s not your turn to ask then.” You stick your tongue out at him and turn your attention back to George. When you see the guy motioning for Dream to whisper his dare. “Betrayal George, I will never forgive you.”
“Too bad for you then.” His smile widening the longer Dream keeps whispering. Your worry starts to grow, you are already regretting deeply for giving in to the peer pressure.
Dream retreats and looks satisfied with his idea. George takes a moment to think it over, but it’s clear that he has already made up his mind.
“I dare you…” He clicks his tongue. “I dare you to give Sapnap a lap dance!”
“What?”
“You heard me!” George looks proud of himself, or his idea, or Dreams idea. You don’t know. Your stomach is seemingly doing backflips at the idea, while your head is spinning for the exact opposite reason.
“Chicken?” You try, you don’t notice the desperate look Sapnap is giving George.
“Nope,” George pops his ‘p’, “you’ve been boring all evening with only choosing truth. Besides we're all adults here, c'mon it could be a lot worse.”
You look over at Wilbur, who is more than occupied with Sally. Then over at Karl, who has a teasing grin on his lips, as if he knew this would happen. Then to Quackity, who looks like someone who definitely knew this would happen. Then to Techno, who looks like he could murder Dream. And knowing him, there is a 50/50 chance he’s still mad over losing or that it’s about the idea Dream just proposed.
“He didn’t say it had to be here,” Sapnap says to help you out. “We can just leave.” Your head pecks up at that. He’s right. George didn’t specify where. A smile forms on your face, a smile based on relief.
Dream starts to protest, but you have already grabbed Sapnaps wrist and started dragging him into Karls room.
You miss Techno slapping Dream over the head.
You make Sapnap sit on Karls bed, as you make sure the door is locked. You would rather die than anyone walk in on you. You look around for a speaker, and you barely get your phone out of your back pocket before Sapnap has put his hand on your wrist now.
“Hey, you don’t have to do it.”
You look at him, panic still evident in your eyes.
“What?”
“I said you don’t have to do it.”
“What?”
He smiles at you and tugs you over to sit beside him on the bed.
“For the third time, you don’t have to do it.”
His left-hand cups your head, his right hand has moved from your wrist and into your hand.
“It’s just a stupid game of truth or dare anyway. Techno is right, we aren’t middle schoolers. Fuck, we aren't even high schoolers.”
You smile at him, before letting out a quiet chuckle.
“Yeah, you’re right. I thought you would want that, though.”
Sapnap leans his head to the side. Asking you to continue.
“I mean, you’re Sapnap. Oh, c’mon on don’t make me say it.”
“Say what?” he grins at you now. The air suddenly becoming light around you.
“Please, don’t act like you don’t know. Everyone knows.” You look away for a moment, his hand lightly turns your head back to look at him, and you let him. Although the look you are met with is one of confusion and not the cockiness you were expecting.
You sigh once.
Then twice.
Then once more.
You were really about to do this, in the bedroom of your childhood friend. Jesus.
“Sapnap, seriously. This isn’t funny.”
“What? I feel like I lost the thread somewhere here.” His hand falls from your face, and you can’t help but want to chase it.
“I like you, everyone knows that. This isn’t funny. Seriously. Everyone knows I’m absolutely hopeless for thinking you would even look in my direction.”
You fall onto Karls bed, letting yourself sink into the purple bedsheets.
“Well, I can tell you two things.”
Sapnap falls onto the bed beside you. The two of you now staring into the wooden ceiling that’s decorated with glow in the dark stars.
“And what are those two things?”
“You see, one nobody thinks you are hopeless.” He chuckles a bit at that. “If anything, I’m the hopeless one here.”
You turn your head to look at him, and he does the same to you, giving you a kind smile.
“And now why would you be that?”
“Because two, not everyone knows that you like me, I didn’t.” You return his smile, although you feel a need to look away at the words, you keep eye contact with him.
“Well, now you know, making me right.” You tease or try to. You can feel the air has gone from light, to very heavy suddenly. Barely breathable. And you can feel your breath hitch in your throat, you know what words you hope he speaks next. But yet, you can’t stop expecting to get laughed at and rejected right here.
“I guess, but you see, I would say I’m the hopeless one here. Because I’ve been trying to tell you that I like you for months now.” He covers his face with a hand. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, I sound like a cliché.”
You let out a small laugh, “Yeah, you do a bit. But…”
“But…?” he asks, his hand still over his face, but you can see him peaking through his fingers.
“But I don’t mind it, I think it’s cute.” And now it’s his time to laugh.
Then slowly a silence falls over the two of you. Unlike the one from earlier, this one is saying more than a thousand words, while saying absolutely nothing at all. It’s just two people who like each other enjoying a moment.
“We should probably get back to the others again.” Sapnap breaks the silence, and you take a deep breath at the sudden disturbance.
“Oh yeah, the others.”
“The longer we stay here, the more they are going to wonder what we are doing.” You can’t help but laugh at that.
“You are sadly right Sapnap. You are unfortunately right.”
You groan as you sit back up, offering him a hand that he gladly takes, but instead of you helping to pull him up from the bed.
He pulls you down into his lap once more.
"However..." He starts, "They can wonder all they want."
You can feel his hands on your hips now. As he leans in to start trailing kisses over your neck once more.
Your breath hitches.
His teeth grace your shoulder before you can feel him sucking.
His hands exploring you as you lean into the pleasure.
You start squirming in his lap, and he stops.
"No."
You pause, as his hands quickly leave you.
"No?"
"I am not having my first time with you, with your brothers down the hallway, and my best friends absolutely listening in," Sapnap admits to you.
The statement makes your face heat up, and you try to hide away in his neck. He chuckles at the cute gesture.
"We should get going..." He trails off but makes no moves to actually get up. Just basking in the heat you apply to him.
You sigh, as you get off him, his hand now holding yours.
"Sadly you're right."
He gets off the bed and stands beside you.
However, when you prepare to let go, he keeps your hands entangled, and if you’re honest, you don’t mind all that much.
You unlock the door and head back into the living room. All conversation going stale the second the two of you stand in the doorway.
Dream ever the curious, is the one to break the ice. “Sooo…”
Sapnap lifts your entangled hands, and the room breaks into cheers. And you swore you heard a couple of people mutter finally. You hide your head in your hand, trying to hide your embarrassment alongside it.
Leading you to miss Karl throwing Quackity some money, and George doing the same to Dream.
You lift your head from your hand as you hear Wilbur speak.
“Good luck explaining that one to Dad.” Wilbur laughs, but a smile clear on his lips.
"What?" You say, as you can feel Wilburs eyes burning onto your throat. Your hand quickly coming up to try and cover the clearly evident mark.
A glance at Techno tells you that he too is happy for you, but even more clearly he is on the brink of smugness. Knowing you're going to get in trouble tomorrow.
He has been the one on the end of most of your seemingly endless rants about the moment that happened weeks ago at that party. The one that your brothers ruined, so it felt self-explanatory for them to be on the end of your whining.
Sapnap guides you, as the two of you return to your seats on the couch and the night continues.
Nothing has truly changed, yet it feels like everything has changed.
And somewhere along the night, things did change.

You rolled your shoulders, twisting your back to alleviate some of the stress in your back as your mind raced at the possible outcomes of spending the weekend at Karl’s parent’s place. He seemed to deal with the situation in his own way, a cigarette lazily hanging from his lips as he scrubbed the nail polish from his fingers. You wondered if his parents were sticklers for order, then again, knowing Karl, there was no way they weren’t crazy strict. You thought about your own family and what would happen if Karl were to meet your mother.
Karl seemed almost absent-mindedly going through the motions of visiting them like you had nothing to worry about. There were occasions when he even made it clear that you had your life more intact than he did, so it was doubtful they would hate you.
You peered over at him, taking your eyes off the road momentarily as he paused to blow smoke out of his window. “Why do you have to take it off?” You asked, gesturing to his hands.
He scoffed slightly, sitting up and throwing the dirty cotton ball into the small bag beside him. “My mom hates the dark colors,” he murmured, flicking his cigarette bud outside. He moved a hand to settle over your thigh, wrapping his fingers around the flesh. “Don’t worry, I’ll paint them again when we get back,” he chided. “I know it’s the only reason you keep me around.”
You snorted at this, shaking your head at his joke.
The two of you came to a small stop-over town, swapping seats after filling up the tank at the local gas station. Through the crack in the passenger window, you could hear the cashier greeting Karl as if they were old friends, smacking him on the back and walking him out the door with a smile. As Karl sank into the driver’s seat you furrowed your brows. He looked at you with a shrug. “We vacation around here sometimes,” he brushed off, making your mouth twist in disbelief. He was downplaying the extent of his family’s hold over the town.
As the two of you drove through the main street of the town, your eyes snapped to the various stores with his last name plastered on the signs. You nearly asked him about it, instead opting out as you figured he would give you a half-assed answer and only give you part of the story.
His house had its own street, a long winding road that ended in a looped driveway the size of a suburban cold-de-sac. You willed yourself not to let your mouth gape at the sheer size of the mansion as it stared back at you, blocking the moonlight as Karl opened the passenger door for you to climb out. “Stop treating me like the fucking Queen of England,” you murmured, elbowing him as he pulled on his hoodie, shaking out his hair slightly.
He laughed at you, popping a piece of gum in his mouth, and pressing his lips to yours in a nearly heated kiss as if to give you a taste of what he had in store of you. As he broke the embrace, his nose brushed against yours. “I can treat you worse if you want, pet?” He offered, causing you to shove him away from you.
“We are literally in your parents’ driveway. Chill out,” you urged, making him chuckle as he laced his fingers with yours, pulling you towards the front door. Your heart hammered in your ears as he pushed open the door. You tugged on his arm. “Shouldn’t we knock first?” You whispered, making him pop his gum and shrug.
As if telling you not to worry, he pulled you the rest of the way in the house, only to be greeted with an old man barely reaching over your height. “Karl! My god, you nearly scared the living daylights outta me!” He hooted, as Karl wrapped his arm around the old man, the two chattering away like the best of friends.
You smiled at the warmth between the two, watching Karl blossom. He moved to stand by you, wrapping his arm around your waist and gesturing to the man. “This is my nanny, Leslie. He wouldn’t leave so I think he just dusts the books in one of the libraries,” Karl joked, making the man swat the air in front of Karl.
You raised your eyebrows. “One of the libraries?” You repeated quietly as if to make sure you heard him correctly.
He smirked at you, disregarding your surprise. “This is my girlfriend,” he introduced, rather proudly as Leslie’s face lit up. He grabbed your hands and rambled on about how he had never thought Karl would introduce a girlfriend to the family.
“I thought I heard Karl’s voice. Did he make it?” A feminine tone rang out into the foyer, capturing Karl’s attention a beat before she had started talking as if he had sensed her. You wanted to smirk at the vision, knowing he did the same when he heard you.
A woman came around the corner of one of the walls, her hair and makeup applied to a professional standard and her clothes were cleanly pressed. She looked as if she had just gotten home from an office job with a corner office. Her intimidating aura vanished along with his as soon as she saw him, scooping him up in her arms as he chuckled slightly. She held him out an arm’s length away, pinching his sides and calling him a beanstalk. Another man a few years older than Leslie entered the room, draped in a flowery apron. He embraced Karl as well, the couple fawning over him like they hadn’t seen him in years.
Karl gestured for you to come closer as he showed you off to the pair, introducing them as his parents. Karl’s mom immediately embraced you, murmuring about how Karl hadn’t brought a girl home in ages let alone a girlfriend and you were quickly being to notice a theme amongst the group.
The house was massive, which you had quickly noticed was even bigger than it looked outside, as Karl’s mother looped her arm around yours, giving you the tour and explaining the extensive history of the Jacobs family and their impact on the house. Leslie and she served as some of the most entertaining tour guides you’d ever experienced as they giggling and joked. Karl walked quietly behind the group of you, hands in his pockets as he looked up at the ceilings and pictures as if he hadn’t seen them a thousand times growing up.
You peered over your shoulder, making sure he was still with the rest of you. He set you a wink, lips curling at the sight of you getting along with his family members.
After you were finally beginning to lose track of time Karl broke into the charade, and after vaguely mentioning he was tired, his mother when into a mock cuddling mode, cooing to him sarcastically, yet letting the two of you slink away for the night with the promise of finishing the tour before Karl’s brother showed up in the morning.
Soon it was just you and Karl again, him leading you up a flight of stairs. The hallways were lit with small lanterns that at one time had probably fostered candles but were now replaced with electric ones. You weren’t sure where to look as the walls were crammed with painting and photographs. Half of you wanted to admire the architecture while the rest of you was attempting to identify who the artist was that had done most of the artwork.
Karl sighed tiredly, popping open a door and switching on the lights. You bit back a smile at the view of his room in its pristine condition. The various shades of blues and greys accenting the features of his bed and various pieces of furniture. As you looked around, he threw his wallet and keys onto the dresser beside his bed, shutting the door to drown out the faint music coming from the kitchen. You sat in one of the massive chairs beside the fireplace, your mind running blank with disbelief. A fire was already burning in anticipation of his return.
You ran your finger along the seam in the leather. “When you said your family had money… I didn’t picture all,” you paused gesturing around you, “… this…”
He shrugged with a small smile on his face. “Do you wanna know a little piece of Karl lore?” He asked, smugly.
You perked your eyebrows at his words. “You know I do.”
He gestured with his fingers for you to come towards him as he walked closer to one of the massive windows. He settled his hand in the crook of your neck, turning you to look across the pond at a few of the other massive properties. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder before pointing at one directly in front of you. “I lost my virginity in that one,” he stated, making you chuckle.
He wrapped his arms around your waist. “And to whom?” You queried, as his teeth nipped at your ear.
You could practically hear him smirk. “Her name was Ms. Scarlet back then, but I think she’s been married again,” he answered, making you freeze in his hold. “I think she was between husband two and three.”
“Wait, what?” You turned around to face him.
He brushed his lips against yours. “You jealous?”
You furrowed your brows at him, pulling out of his touch. “Were you of age?” You questioned, voice coming out in almost a winded laugh.
He shrugged, plopping down on the bed behind him, leaning his weight back on his hands. “Not the first time.” He smiled up at you. “She’s a friend of mine’s mom. I cut her grass that summer.”
You rubbed your eyes. “Jesus Christ,” you murmured. “Did you hook up again after that?” It was like he had opened Pandora’s box, a mass of questions echoing like bees within your mind.
He looked at the ceiling. “We stopped before my sophomore year of college, I think.” He furrowed his brows in thought. “Yeah, so almost five years.” Your mouth gapped slightly. “But only when I came back for breaks.”
“You were seventeen?” You stressed. “And when you came back from where?” You sat beside him, attempting to decide if you should be worried or not. Obviously, it wasn’t a fact you could change, but the fact that a woman had him at so young-
He hummed slightly. “Boarding school,” he mumbled, trying not to seem smug. He wrapped his arm around your waist. “I know it sounds bad now, but she wasn’t taking advantage of me or anything,” he assured. “I think you’d like her, honestly.”
“You think I’d like a woman that preys on little boys?” He snorted at your comment and you smacked his chest, making him laugh louder.
He dug his face into your neck. “Age of consent is lower here,” he continued to assure. “Baby, I’m okay.” His teeth nipped at your skin. “Plus, I don’t think I’d know how to make you feel so good without her.” That made you green around the gills. You attempted to put the thought of Karl and an older woman out of your mind. “How did you lose yours?”
You swallowed your questions, deciding to save them for another day. “In a treehouse before I left for college. With my roommate’s twin brother,” you murmured.
He chuckled. “Oh, shit. We’re both bad friends, aren’t we?” He jested.
You shook your head, chewing the inside of your cheek. “I was dating him, actually. It was really brief.”
“The sex or the relationship?” He asked, making two gesture two fingers into the air. He pulled away from you, sending you a small smile. “And what’s his name? I need to know who you’re comparing me to.”
You scoffed. “Clay,” you answered, the image of the boy flashing into your mind for an instant.
Karl’s demeanor changed. “Clay?” He repeated, sounding like you earlier as you wrapped your brain around the extent of the Jacobs fortune. “What does that seem so familiar…” he trailed off in thought. You perked your eyebrow at him, knowing full-well the two could have unintentionally crossed paths on campus.
The next morning, you could have sworn you were on the set of a period piece if it weren’t for Karl’s father’s golfing attire and his mother’s tight black dress as they welcomed various family members into the house. You had finally met Karl’s older brother, an accomplished man with a good job and an even more impressive education, yet each time he attempted to boast about his earnings or the progress he was bringing to the family business, he was swatted off only for his parents to gloat about Karl’s fraternity connections and grades.
You peered over Karl’s shoulder as he showed you Todd’s Instagram post, the two of you scoffing before you liked his picture from your account, making Karl roll his eyes as you snickered.
“… And that being said, renting cars is no longer a strenuous task,” Karl’s brother finished.
Mrs. Jacobs nodded her head slightly. Karl had mentioned the family joke of disregarding what his brother said, even if it was impressive or you were interested. It had been a running gag since Karl was in high school and they weren’t planning on letting up anytime soon. “Yeah, that’s neat. Did you hear Karl learned how to do his own laundry?” His mom boasted with a small chirp to her voice as if Karl were the best thing on the planet.
You bit back a laugh as his brother grumbled to himself, his wife patting his arm reassuringly. “He was also one of the most expensive at KA. Very impressive son!” His dad added, sending him a thumbs up.
You stood with Karl in the living room; his arm draped around the top of a bookshelf you were leaning against as you both listened to one of his cousins talk about a new boat they had just paid off.
Your heels felt tight on your feet as you switched the weight from one ankle to the other, leaning closer to Karl. He moved so his lips were near your ear. “Don’t let him fool you. It’s a hollowed-out log with a rudder,” he chided, making the corner of your mouth twist up.
“It’s not much, but it’s honest,” you mockingly defended. “You’re jealous, aren’t you?”
“Inexplicably,” he murmured back, making you laugh quietly. He let a beat of silence pass between the two of you before wetting his lips. “Say the word and we’ll find a random room and I’ll ruin your makeup,” he whispered.
You scoffed, inching closer to him while your eyes remained on the center of the room where everyone was talking. “How can you be horny around your family?”
You could feel his warm breath against your neck. “Because I’m more focused on you in that tight little dress than Kevin’s boat.”
You took a sip from your cup. “Dirty boy,” you joshed quietly.
Karl smirked at you before his eyes drifted to the front door, a new flow of people filing into the house. You noticed him grow quiet, following his gaze to a woman and a boy around your age. They greeted Karl’s parents happily before integrating into the living room with the rest of you. You could tell by the way his face twisted smugly that the woman was Ms. Scarlet. You drew in a breath as she neared the two of you.
Karl stood up a bit straighter and you bit back a laugh, making a mental note on having to tease him about his MILF. The woman smiled brightly at Karl, pinching his cheek. You attempted to piece together who the boy was and if Karl had mentioned him before.
Karl cleared his throat after they shared their pleasantries. “Uh, this is Nick, but everyone calls him Sapnap, and this is his mom… Ms. Scarlet?” He questioned the last part as she charmingly laughed.
“Oh, no darling. I’m Mrs. Donahue now.” Sapnap rolled his eyes slightly at her words, taking a sip of his drink as she winked at him.
Karl smirked. “Right, congratulations. Anyway, they’ve been our neighbors for years-”
She cut him off, squeezing his arm. “Oh, come on! We were trying to marry Karl off to one of Nick’s cousins and finally join the families, but it’s just funny how things work out,” she stated. You wracked your brain, attempting to figure out if it was a dig at you or Karl. The two of them went off on a tangent about the array of Sapnap’s cousins that Karl had had to take on dates and whatnot.
“So, you’re dating Karl then?” Sapnap asked you, more of an aside as they had seemed to forget about you.
You nodded; the fact still rather foreign to you when given the chance to think about it. “Yeah, I’ll claim him,” you joked. “Did you guys go to the same high school?” You asked, attempting conversation.
He looked at you tiredly. “Yeah, yeah. We’ve been classmates since we were little.” You hummed in interest. “I mean, since he fucked my mom we haven’t been hanging out or anything,” he added as if you had been itching to ask.
You had been.
You snorted at his words as he smiled slightly. “Sorry, that’s not funny,” you apologized, covering your mouth.
He shook his head, laughing softly. “No, it definitely is, don’t worry.”
“How did, uh… that affect you guys?” You asked, biting back your humorous response.
He seemed to relax from his stiffened introduction a few minutes prior. He wet his lips. “Honestly, there’s no going back from that, you know?”
You giggled. “No, I don’t.”
He laughed at your answer, covering it with a cough as Karl seemed to remember you were standing beside him. Sapnap’s mom suddenly spotted an old friend of hers, the two parting from your life almost as quickly as they had entered. You leaned against Karl’s arm.
“I like Sapnap,” you hummed, watching the two leave. “He seems quiet.” Karl shrugged beside you. Your mind wandered to whether Sapnap knew Todd. Part of you wished you had asked him, but you were struggling to remember Todd’s real name anyway. “Did you have fun with your lady friend?” You mocked, looking up at him.
He shook his head, biting back a smirk. “You’re my lady friend.”
You chuckled. “Oh? I thought you’d forgotten.”
Before you knew it, you were pressed against Karl in a coat closet in a remote part of the house, unable to make it to his room before his hands were up your skirt and his lips were attacking your skin. He pinned you against the door as if he were worried you would slip out of his grasp as he ground his hips against yours. His teeth grazed against your neck in a mess of hands and hair.
You pushed him further into the closet before he plopped down in a chair towards the back. The both of you shared a look of confusion as to why it was there yet shrugged and went back to carding your fingers through his hair and tugging at his lips with your own. He moaned into your mouth as you climbed into his lap, his hands gripping the flesh of your thighs before snaking up to slip into the top of your dress and take your breast into one of his large hands.

So there’s this bakery downtown that sells the best coffee outside of the Starbucks that Karl practically lives inside of down the street. And it’s weird, right? Because it’s a bakery, and because the bakery’s food, frankly, sucks, but somehow the coffee they sell every morning is the best in the business. 
“The secret ingredient?” Sapnap asks, playful innocence lacing his voice. His eyes dart around the otherwise-empty shop, lips teasing at a smile. “Why, Mister Jacobs, why would I tell you that?”
Karl giggles and forces himself to not, like, lunge across the counter and kiss his boyfriend silly. Bad has this stupid rule of “no canoodling at work” despite hanging off of every word that Skeppy says when Skeppy bothers showing up to support his shitty annoying family. Sapnap may not care about the rules, ever the bad boy, but he also doesn’t want his dad to fire him again. 
So Karl instead settles for a flirtatious smirk and a lean against the counter, hand extended just a bit so that Sapnap could possibly hold it, he could possibly do that, yes. And hold it Sapnap does, his hand warm and gentle as it softly adjusts Karl’s hand so that their fingers are properly laced together. Oh, what a romantic. It’s enough to make Karl’s hearts skip a beat, such as it were.
“Why, Mister Halo, I’m just doing my job,” Karl simpers. “Every good reporter can find a mystery they need to solve.”
“And today’s mystery just so happens to be my dad’s secret ingredient?” Sapnap asks. 
“If you say it’s love, I’m going to break up with you.”
Sapnap pouts and looks away. “Fuck, how’d you guess?”
Karl laughs, and Sapnap laughs, and Karl loves him so much that the ring box sitting in his coat pocket feels just that much lighter. 
It’s eight p.m., just after closing, and Karl is here, as he always is when he isn’t out working, to walk his boyfriend back to their shared apartment across town. It’s a bit of a walk, but they like the time they get to spend with each other. Karl loves him. Karl is going to marry him. Karl just needs to finish working up the nerve to do so. 
It’s quiet except for the dull roar of the city outside and the soft dulcet tones of the Taylor Swift album Sapnap has connected to the bakery’s bluetooth. Karl looks Sapnap in the eyes and thinks, yes, it might just be time. 
His hand starts to slip towards his pocket. He can feel his cells vibrating in anticipation. Finally, just finally- 
ROLLING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND-
Karl jumps and swears, letting go of Sapnap’s hand and backing away from the counter as he rushes outside to answer his phone. He can hear Sapnap protest behind him, but duty calls. 
Duty calls quite literally, actually, because it’s Connor, and he doesn’t sound happy. 
“What do you mean, Billiam is back?” Karl exclaims. 
He doesn’t bother keeping his voice down. Nobody on this side of S City would know the name Billiam if it bit them in the ass. Everybody that has had the pleasure of knowing him is either dead or in prison Karl, one of the three. 
Connor’s voice is calm as ever as he responds, “You heard me. One of the twins says he saw him over by the mansion. Crazy, right?”
“Which twin?” Karl asks. 
“Uh, dunno. The bitchy one.”
They’re both “the bitchy one”, but, frankly, Karl doesn’t like dealing with either twin. They’re annoying, even if they are his bosses. Sort of. 
He sighs and leans against the brick exterior of the bakery, arm crossed across his chest. The box in his pocket suddenly feels that much heavier. 
“Let me guess, I gotta go check it out,” Karl morosely says. “Y’know, I had plans for tonight.”
“Yeah, sorry, it’s just that-”
Karl nods and hangs his head. “Right, the boss.”
Connor hums, displeased with being interrupted. “The boss.”
Oh, the boss, the mysterious rich bastard making Karl run around the city throwing himself into danger just for a good story. Karl wouldn’t even mind the danger if there wasn’t such a distinct chance of getting himself caught in the process; he loves stories, he loves watching them unfold, and he loves telling them. But the government is a bitch, and there’s no way that Karl can get away from them twice. 
So he sighs again and nods again even though he knows that Connor can’t see him doing so. He imagines that Sapnap, inside, can see him and is upset. Karl is upset for him if he isn’t. Sigh. 
“He wants it up by midnight,” Connor says. 
Double sigh. 
“Fine, fine,” Karl throws his head back, hair falling in his eyes. “Tell him I’m on my way.”
He hangs up after that, fully intent on leaving Connor hanging. He knows that Connor would do the same to him, and that he has in the past. 
Karl stands there for a minute still as a statue before pushing himself off the wall and pocketing his phone in the pocket not holding the ring. Triple sigh. 
He pokes his head into the bakery, door jingling above him, and looks at Sapnap as apologetically as he can. Sapnap, to his credit, already looks resigned, mopping the floors with a tired expression. 
“Sorry,” Karl says. “It’s just…”
Sapnap offers a weak, yet comforting, smile. “Work.”
Karl smiles back, just as weak. “Work. I’ll bring you back something special, promise.”
“Just bring yourself back,” Sapnap replies, and, God, Karl loves him. “Love you.”
“Love you more.” 
Karl blows him a kiss and blushes lightly as Sapnap exaggeratedly catches it and holds it to his chest. 
God. Damnit.

Fuck work, literally. 
Literally. 
Karl dangles off of the balcony with his teeth grit in determination. Five floors above the ground and with a deranged, mind controlling multimillionaire zombie just a few short feet away inside of the hotel, this is one of the less appealing circumstances that Karl has found himself in from over the past couple of weeks. But the life of a journalist is a dangerous one, especially if you’re working for The Tales. If you aren’t in mortal peril at least once a day, what’s the point? 
(At least the medical insurance is out of this world.)
Karl can hear Billiam puttering about in the building grunting like the pig he is. He doesn’t seem aware of his surroundings, at least, so Karl has that going for him. Billiam is slow, too. He wasn’t a big exercise guy in life, and, in death, he’s just as slow as the average horror show freak. 
The problem lies in the other person inside, the guy that brought Billiam back to life using some kind of freaky magic power bullshit that Karl really doesn’t like the smell of. Literally. It smells strongly of cotton candy, and of rotten eggs. 
“Uh, sir, please put that down. You can’t eat that,” the man nervously says, voice hoarse and croaking from disuse. 
This would be Billiam’s butler, name and records wiped from the city’s databanks as of three years ago when Karl first exposed his and Billiam’s murder cult to the world in what was labeled the biggest news story of the decade at the time. Karl can’t remember the guy’s name for the life of him; Billiam always just called him “Butler”, and his name was redacted in the article because he was a minor at the time. So. “Butler” it is. 
Butler groans and rushes across the room to take something away from a petulant-sounding Billiam. Karl can just barely see their shoes- Butler’s ratty blue Converse, and Billiam’s shiny dress shoes. He may be dead, but Billiam is still fancy as hell. Leave it to the rich to make a corpse look utterly fabulous. 
Karl bites back a frightened yelp as his grip on the railing loosens. He’s holding on for dear life. Oh, Sapnap will be pissed if Karl dies at a fucking Quality Inn. 
It was going just fine for a bit. He had followed the twins’ directions to a Quality Inn over by the football stadium. Getting into the room was easy. Karl remembers what Billiam looked like quite well- tall, stocky, strong frame, a comfortable fit even if his clothes were a bit out of place and visibly a little too tight on him. It was easy enough to go up to the desk and request a room key because, oh, don’t you see, he had forgotten his on his yacht. And then from there it was smooth sailing. 
And then he heard a key in the lock. 
So here he is, dangling like a brightly-colored keychain off of a flimsy Quality Inn balcony listening to two cultists pretend to be what they were once before. 
“I can eat whatever I want,” Billiam grunts. His words are slurred, probably because he’s still suffering from an acute case of Being A Literal Corpse Disease. “Go stand in the corner, Butler, I do not wish to see your face any more.”
Butler doesn’t budge. “Ah, no- not yet, sir. I’m still finishing, uh. Finishing up your face.”
Karl doesn’t know what they’re doing inside, but he sincerely hopes that the camera he planted in the complimentary tissue box is doing its job. Yeah, there will be a bit of tissue in frame, but it’s loads better than the camera footage for the treasure hunt had been. At least the recording device is sure to work. He hid it perfectly. 
“I say, Butler, whatever is that blinking red light above the minifridge?” Billiam asks. 
Shit. 
“Wait, what?” Butler asks. 
He turns around, and Karl says, fuck it, grab and go. He’s got enough for a short article. 
Karl pulls himself up with some great amount of difficulty, heaving himself over the balcony and tripping over the railing in the process. He lands on his face with an Oof!, which draws both cultists’ attention. 
“Not you again!” Billiam exclaims. 
Karl looks up and gives him an unimpressed look. He looks… like shit, actually. Like, well, a zombie. He’s even still covered in dirt despite supposedly rising from the grave two days ago by the twin’s information. 
“I could say the same for you,” Karl drawls. He pushes himself to his feet and brushes the dirt off of his khakis, trying to look casual despite feeling like he’s about to, like, fucking die. “So, if it’s all the same, I’m going to be going, now.”
“Uh,” Butler awkwardly says. “No. Sir, if you could kindly kill him?”
Karl blinks at that. He then blinks harder and much more frightendly as Billiam’s eyes flash a horribly-familiar crimson and as he charges at Karl with the ferocity of a Spanish bull. 
Karl screams just a little and just barely manages to lunge out of the way, diving under Billiam’s extended arm and landing on the hotel room’s carpet floor in a heap of limbs. He rolls a bit, stopping as he runs into Butler’s legs. 
He looks up at Butler, who looks down at him stonily. He’s really matured over the past couple of years, hasn’t he? Prison’ll do that to you. 
“Sir!” Butler calls. 
Karl’s eyes widen and he scrambles to his feet, pushing past Butler to grab the audio recorder off of the top of the fridge. A heavy pair of hands clasps around his neck and pulls, tugging him away from the fridge. Karl wheezes and claws at Billiam’s hands with his one free hand. Panicked, he sharpens his nails and draws blood. Billiam roars inhumanly and lets go. Karl falls to the ground and coughs. 
Tissue box. Right. Go. 
Karl hops to his feet and runs, narrowly avoiding getting choked again. God, when did Billiam get fast? He’s supposed to be a zombie! 
It’s a small room, so Karl gets to the tissue box easily enough. He turns around, box in hand, triumphant, only to see Butler pointing a gun right at his chest. 
“Oh, shit,” Karl succinctly says. 
And then the gun fires.

Karl slips into bed, careful not to wake Sapnap, who snuffles in his sleep like a dog and turns towards the sudden new body. Karl smiles softly and pulls Sapnap to his front, burying his face in his boyfriend’s soft hair. 
He yawns and closes his eyes. He can feel his stitches pull as he twists himself into a more comfortable position, but they shouldn’t burst. He did a good job on them, he thinks. He’ll have Ponk look at them in the morning before he heads into the office. 
Karl closes his eyes. At least the boss liked the article, even if it was a few minutes late. 
The ring box is back in his sock drawer. Maybe tomorrow.

Summary: A once-in-a-lifetime trip turned dark. You're quickly exposed to the sinister and mysterious world of a cursed village under the control of dark leaders. How long will you last and will you ever return home in one piece?

Backpacking through Eastern Europe was not a top priority on your “to do” list. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Being one to preplan everything, you were completely caught off guard when your roommate sprung the idea of the trip out of the blue. You roommate, Jezebel Haine, was your first and only roommate from college onward. All legs, she was one of the stars of the track team but was most certainly not one of the brightest shining ones. She was considerably dim-witted, fanatical, and had a booming over-the-top personality that scared every potential boyfriend who had the disservice of meeting her. There were times, though, that she was rather endearing. Her childlike sense of self and emotional drivers consistently put her at a crossroads between what everyone else was doing and what she should be doing; she was, and always will be, a follower.
After four years of becoming “the bestest of friends,” you had a hard time imagining such a hard shift either into another roommate or living alone. Plus, her parents funded most everything she did and, in turn, funded the apartment the two of you shared.
“It’s an amazing opportunity!” She insisted, waving her hands in a simple manner as she rose from the condensed cushion of the leather-clad couch. “Think about it.” Gathering your hands in hers like a 20’s actress who had just met the man of her dreams, she pulled the bundle to her chest. “We frolic through the European countryside, it’s golden hour. My skin looks absolutely gorgeous… yours too, of course. The sun is just about to set, but alas!” She let out a dramatic gasp, removing one of her hands to cover her mouth. “It’s growing dark out!”
“That’s what happens when the sun sets.” You noted, causing her to drop the act for a moment only to immediately go back into character.
“We hear the crunching of leaves and twigs all around us as if something…” she drew close and lowered her voice to a whisper, “sinister is coming. Out of no where we’re ambushed! By what, I’m not sure. Then,” her eyes became glassy as she lay a delicate hand to her forehead, “two absolute studs… and I’m talking big bulging muscles, gorgeous trendy hair, captivating eyes… really everything a simple girl could ask for… seemingly drop from the sky! We’re saved!” She throws your hands into the air as if they’d fall like confetti. Drawing both her arms in, she sways back and forth in a waltz of one. “We’d be married by the next day! Hell, maybe we’d even end up as princesses.”
Oh, how utterly wrong she was.

“I told you this was a stupid idea.” You groaned, haughtily holding your chin up while feeling your spirits low. A few miles back, on an asphalt road that quickly turned to dirt, sat the dingy red rental truck with a blown out engine and a deflating tire. With no cell service and the last town being over 100 miles back, your only choice was to walk.
“Don’t blame me!” Jezebel stopped walking, feet falling flat to the ground as she stomped her foot in a childish manner. “I,” her lip quivered as all the anger held in her body dissipated, “I just wanted to have a fun time with you.” Big tears flowed from her eyes quickly after finishing her proclamation, leaving smearing black lines down her face from the eyeliner she insisted was necessary in the Romanian countryside. God, if her parents weren’t funding this trip, you’d throw a fit for your money back.
“Jess, just,” reaching backward, you fished a rag from your backpack, “don’t cry. That’s not going to make this better.” Sniffling, she accepted the rag and wiped her eyes, further smearing black all over her face. You couldn’t help but feel a shred of sympathy for her. “Let’s just keep going. No use in wasting daylight. I really don’t want to get caught out here in the dark.”
“Where are we supposed to go, then?”
“I’m sure the next town will have some sort of inn or hotel. At the very least, they’ll have directions to the nearest city.”
After another five miles of walking, the sun was beginning to set and no gorgeous studs were waiting to save you. The blazing yellow ball inched slowly beyond the horizon. Its warming rays that had kept the snow from freezing the two of you in the day crept down below the snow peaked mountains that were nestled in the distance. Shadows began dancing between the trees, sending the forest into a theater of silent performers. The dirt road that was once large enough for two cars was now only a walking path so slim that Jezebel had to follow on your heels. Every now and again you were reeled back by the piece of rope that she had attached to your backpack that was firmly gripped in her hand. She claimed it made her feel safer.
“You think those two hunks are going to come save us now?” You joked, attempting to make light of this dark situation.
“I wish.” She huffed, frustration evading her voice as exhaustion took center stage.
Flickering light caught your eye. Hues of yellow and red mingled together in the distance, the outlines of rooftops and smoke-filled chimneys littered the ground below. “I think that’s a village.”
Another mile of downhill travel was all it took to reach the place where the once distant flickering of torches and lanterns grew into the quiet streets of a cluttered settlement. There was no clear indication of movement once you stepped foot in the village; the only evidence of any life came in the form of fresh boot prints, livestock, and the ever-blazing lanterns. Jezebel was all to happy to release your makeshift leash from her fingers, trotting mindlessly by to examine the street corners and homes. Your eyes continued wandering up the rooftops, finally landing upon the eerie looming castle situated on the mountainside above.
From around the bend, you heard Jezebel screech.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” You threw caution to the wind, quickly rounding the corner to scold her like a parent would to a misbehaving child. “You don’t know if these people are violent or not. We can’t just go parading ourselves into the town center.”
“I think they’re violent.” She mustered the shaky words. Her hands covered her eyes and the majority of her face as she backed away from whatever had caused her distress.
“What?” The unpleasant squelch of snow beneath your feet caused your attention to draw downward. Dark snow surrounded your boot, an unnatural red hue stained the pure white. Gaze moving upward, your chest restricted feeling as if it had crushed inward on itself. The putrid smell finally fell upon your nostrils as you backed away from the scene. Severed animal heads hung lazily above you, their tongues flopping from their opened mouths.
“I want to go home.” Jezebel sobbed, rasping her cries into her cupped hand. Shaking her head as if to knock this moment from her brain, her short-lived façade of curiosity gave way to her immediate feeling of impending dread.
“That’s what I’m trying to do right now, Jess. Just, calm down.”
A low grumble had you standing further on edge, if that was possible at this point. The sound was clear as day and was anything but human. You weren’t even sure a human could get to an octave so low without the help of technology. Eyes darting upward once more, a chill ran from your shoulders to your toes.
Hauntingly yellowed eyes lingered upon the two of you. The beast-like figure was silhouetted by the moonlight, outlined like a ghost. It looked to be a man, but also anything but a man in the same sense. Its mouth was parted, baring old rotted teeth that looked to have dried blood caked between its gums. Its hands were bloodied as well, small cuts were painted across its forearms only hidden by the rags that clung to its chest.
Before you could process the situation, Jezebel let out another yelp. In an instant, the beast lunged down from its perch, landing with a ground shaking thud nearly five feet before you. “No!” Jezebel’s open palm collided with the space between your shoulder blades as she pushed you toward the monster. The last thing you saw was her backpack falling to the ground as she began running toward one of the homes. You landed face-first in the snow, groaning as all the air in your lungs were forced out. The beast snarled, once again showing its teeth as it hunched down to your level. This was, most certainly, not the way you envisioned dying. Things like this weren’t supposed to exist; this is myth, this isn’t real. It all felt like bad dream gone worse that you couldn’t wake from.
“Pesky creatures, aren’t they?” A new voice called out as the horrendous sound of metal crushing bone and muscle slithered through your ears. The disgusting feeling of gore instantly trickled down your hands. “Please,” the voice continued, “feel free to thank me anytime.”
A moment later, the stranger let out a scoff with the squishy suction of whatever he had used to quiet the monster. The tap of a boot on your elbow finally prompted you to uncover your eyes. “Or don’t.”
“I,” you started, opening and closing your mouth multiple times unable to find the right words, “thank you.”
“Oh.” He tiled the stiff rim of his frayed hat back, exposing a pair of circular sunglasses perched upon his nose. “Foreigners, eh?”
“Yeah, um.” You gathered yourself, finally pushing up to stand on your feet. “We got lost.”
“And ended up here, no doubt.” A stifled chuckle left his lips as he tilted his hat back in place and swung whatever he used to kill the beast over his shoulder. “If I were you, I’d get the hell out of here.”
Without another word, the stranger sauntered off with a backward wave of his hand. “Oh, and have someone clean this mess up.”
“Y/n!” Jezebel’s shrill voice called as she returned with a rather confused villager. He held a shotgun with both of his hands, Jezebel shone a flashlight in your eyes.
“Are you okay?” The villager moved forward with extreme caution after peering around you dumbfoundedly seeing the crumpled body.
“I’m fine, no thanks to her.” You spat, anger swelling in your throat causing a particular acidity to your words.
“All of you! Inside this instant.” A matronly holler came from behind Jezebel and the villager. “You know Miranda’s protection only runs so far as we grow closer to this time.”
Who is Miranda and, more importantly, who was the man who saved you?
The home you were ushered into was on the outskirts of town. It was one of the larger estates given the fact that some people seemed to live in one-room shacks. Upon entering, you were greeted with the warm glow of yellow light trickling in from what looked to be a formal living room. The sweet aromas of honeyed tea wafted through the air, drawing further in as the woman led the three of you deeper into the home. What was worse? You pondered. Being killed by that beast or potentially being murdered by the inhabitants of this home? You couldn’t decide. Thus far, the two gave no indication of malice.
“Please, sit.” The woman pulled out two of the chairs at her table, the wood scratching against the floor. “I’ll fetch the tea.”
Jezebel was so brainless. She smiled at you as if she hadn’t just offered you up as a midnight snack. Surely there was no hamster running on that squeaky track that powered her.
“What was that thing?” You turned to the man who was now seated to your right. “The monster.”
The man ignored your question, instead grabbing a piece of rounded bread from the plate at the center of table. Slathering butter on it, he looked to you. “How’d you kill it?”
“I didn’t.” You frowned, recalling the mysterious man who saved your life without even dropping his name. The villager raised his brows and kicked his foot up on the table. He was waiting for more information. “Some man came out of nowhere. He had some hammer-like weapon.”
As soon as he processed the words, his foot fell from the table and he leaned forward, uncomfortably close. You could smell the distinguishable bite of alcohol percolate from his lips. “Did he wear glasses? A hat?”
“He did.” The words slowly drifted from your mouth. “Hair to about here.” You motioned to the halfway point of your neck.
“Adelina,” the man called, presumably to the woman who guided you inside. He got up quickly, rushing to the other room leaving you and Jezebel alone.
“What the hell is going on here?” You whispered in a harsh tone, leaning forward to get closer to her. “Is this not weird at all to you?”
“I think they’re nice people.” Jezebel responded at full volume without a second of thought.
“That’s coming from someone who tried to feed their supposed best friend to a monster.”
“I was buying us time to get help.”
“Help? I almost died!”
“But you didn’t.”
“When we get back to the U.S. I never want to speak to you again.” You seethed. How could she be this bad? You knew there were a few… a considerable amount of screws missing from Jezebel, but how in God’s green earth does she justify her actions at this point? The thought of it accompanied by her dazed and empty stare only fueled the fire of anger more.
“Dear,” the woman, who you now knew was Adelina, reentered the room accompanied by the man with a tray of cups and a kettle in her hands. She set a delicate china glass in front of you, softly filling it with a reddish colored liquid that she assured you was Celestial Seasonings, a tea imported from Africa. “I hear that you’ve met Lord Heisenberg.” Placing a hand over her heart, she gave a warm smile that only sent another wave of dread through your body. There was something so alluring about this woman, yet so sinister.
“Lord, who?”
Adelina stiffened, craning her neck to the side as she plastered a forced smile upon her lips once more. You had upset her, that much was obvious. “One of the four Lords that rule here alongside our dear Mother Miranda.” She explained, pushing the cup of tea closer to your body. Jezebel had already finished her first glass. Warily, you lifted the cup in your hand and allowed the warm water to heat your frozen body. An elongated finger pointed to the framed painting that hung to the wall. “Mother Miranda protects us here.”
Mother Miranda. You could only focus on the image of the woman silhouetted by six black wings and a halo outlining her head. Her eyes were indistinguishable behind the raven-like mask that clung to her face. Adorned in a black garb, she looked to be a holy figure in this town. But like Adelina, something just wasn’t right with Miranda.

The unsettling reverb of crickets and cicadas chirping grew louder and louder with each passing hour. You counted the seconds between waves of mass chorus; so far, it was roughly thirty seconds between each bleating scream of their nightly tune. You couldn’t sleep. Despite the somewhat comforting, but entirely unsettling welcome given by Adelina and Marion, you couldn’t help but feel like a caged animal in the tiny cupboard room they had given you. A curious thought tickled the back of your mind, willing you to remain as alert as possible after an exhausting day of hiking; where had they put Jezebel? Not that you particularly cared at this point. After the attack she had done a 180, dropping all suspicion of malice in this village. She simply flushed the pictures of hanging heads and wild beasts from her memory. You sometimes envied her lackadaisical memory accompanied by a fanatical view of the world. Living blissfully ignorant, especially in a situation like this, seemed to serve her best.
After a small dinner of fish that smelled of ammonia, of which you politely picked at, Adelina insisted the two of you stay the night. “The beasts will return!” She exclaimed, holding a firm hand over the intricately carved wood of the doorframe. “Early tomorrow we can arrange for a car to pick you up from the next town over.” Hushed murmurs climbing up from the cracked floors pulled you from your thought. The voices spoke in an incomprehensible argument.
“I’d quite like to keep...” the words faded in and out.
“No, no, no. Don’t be ridiculous...”
“What if....”
The floor spoke a soft squeak from beneath your feet as you shifted to get closer to the voices. Their conversation stopped, and you waited with bated breath for it to continue.
“We have to offer someone up tomorrow.” It was Adelina.
“I know, I know.” Marion sounded frustrated. “But you know Mother Miranda prefers only the purest. How are we supposed to know if either of them are-”?
The words faded once more as the two moved from room to room. Walking on the sides of your feet, you followed. Peeking around the corner, your eyes landed on Adelina and Marion illuminated by a flickering fire. They stood close to one another, keeping their tones low.
“Clearly, we offer the frumpy one. Take a look at her. There’s no doubt in my mind that she’s unexperienced.” Adelina snickered, taking a seat on the worn couch with her back to you. “She wouldn’t fit in here anyway.”
“The dumb one would get along nicely with our son.”
“I agree.”
A knock at the front door sent a shiver of adrenaline down your spine. Quickly scrambling to hide, you took in a deep breath as Marion passed by with his shotgun in hand. From the parted door, you could see the sun barely peeking over the horizon. Had it really been that long already?
“Are you sure she’s pure?” The new man stood in the doorway rushed past Marion, looking in the direction of the room they had put you in.
“I suppose we could check.” Adelina called, rising to join the others. “The both of them had that tea. They shouldn’t wake until the ceremony later today.”
“Is she in there?”
“Yes, the other one is upstairs.”
“Let’s check this one first.”
With heavy footsteps falling upon the rotting floorboards of the somewhat dilapidated home, you slunk further into the shadows of the room behind you. The glint of something metal caught your attention; a small handgun sat perfectly on a dresser as if set there intentionally for you to find. Holding your breath, you crept forward to it. You’d never shot a gun in your life, but you knew the basics... both hands, check for ammo, rack the slide, pull the trigger. At least, that’s what the movies told you.
“Out of bed so soon, are we?” The soft voice turned malevolent as Adelina appeared in the doorway of the room. “I wouldn’t use that if I were you.” She motioned to the gun that was aimed rather unskillfully for her chest.
“What the fuck is going on in this village?” You spoke with purpose now, tone wavering slightly as Marion stepped behind his wife.
“You don’t understand things around here, girl.” Adelina spat, moving aside as Marion began charging into the room. The loud blast of the gun echoed from the walls of the home followed by a harsh curse and the sound of a body crumpling to the floor. You had shot Marion in the leg; he’d live.
“No,” you started, re-racking the slide as Adelina’s other friend approached wielding a similar gun to your own. Adrenaline washed over your nervous system, your hands shook violently, but you attempted to remain composed. “You’re the one who doesn’t understand. This isn’t normal! Tell me what’s going on now or,” your eyes trailed down to Marion who was attempting to control the flow of blood from his wound.
“You wouldn’t.” She laughed bitterly.
“Like hell, I wouldn’t.” You exclaimed, training the gun onto her. “Now tell me, what’s happening here.”
“You’ll understand soon enough.” Adelina’s friend’s words were the last thing you heard before your ears rang and the sting of a bullet burnt white hot in your shoulder. You weren’t sure if your gun ever went off again.

Despite being tied, bathed, dressed, and currently sitting on a freezing alter-of-sorts, you still hadn’t the slightest clue as to what was going on. A crowd of villagers surrounded from the south, all carrying on with a rumble of conversation. Adelina shot daggers at you, Marion as well, from a small, inclined hill at the edge of the crowd. The clothes you wore were your own, she had fished through your backpack claiming that it was of no use to waste a nice dress on “someone like her.” Jezebel was likely still fast asleep at their house.
A woman with the likeness of the framed photo you had seen appeared out of nowhere. So, this was the famous Mother Miranda that everyone regarded so deeply. She stood before you as the crowd’s voices hushed and their eyes became hazed with looks of admiration and devoted appreciation. Surely, she was a human, deities and gods didn’t exist in a physical form, you assured yourself.
Without a word, Miranda moved gracefully as if flowing across the ground to stand before Adelina. Taking her face between her hands, she whispered what you assumed to be praise as Adelina’s lips moved rapidly thanking Miranda. She then moved to Marion and grazed her hand against the wound on his thigh, speaking of how his steadfast devotion would quickly heal any injuries of cruelty spread by evil. When her attention finally fell back to you, she frowned. Stalking around you in circles, Miranda’s imposing figure made you want to shrivel to nothingness.
“Thank you.” She turned to the villagers as if to dismiss them. “When the time comes, I will return for another.”
The black wings you had seen in the photo sprouted from her back, shielding your sight of the villagers as they retreated to their homes. Hopeful cries and shouted blessings to Miranda echoed from the crowd as the village gate slammed. The only evidence of them once populating this empty square were flowers and offerings of fruit and grain left for the supposed goddess.
The world swiftly darkened once more.

And he puts a hand over his ear and looks at you and opens his mouth.
"Can you hear me?" You had the same expression he had but you nodded and then everything seemed to be clear and the both of you can hear sound now.
The two of you just talk to each other about anything you guys come up with relishing the sound of each others voice whilst carrying your groceries.

Okay, so for Karl's Soulmate thing I picked where your hair would be the same as your soulmates if they dye it and vice versa to your soulmate.
So basically you've had this love for gaming and you practically have been entertaining the idea of streaming, you loved people who play games whilst they streamed, talking to the people in chat and just making people's days.
And you happen to want to do the same, so basically you wanted to be exclusive with your appearance so you usually just turned your face cam off, but when you did people would gush about how nice your hair looked because of the colors you pick out.
Your streaming career had really gone well and you were quiet well known and was doing really well, the people loved you! (excluding the people who bash on you).
You've met really wonderful friends and they're just the nicest and most wonderful people!
And you have this friend named Karl he was really the best, you met him through Quackity and the two of you just really hit it off from the on.
Basically, you and Karl would be streaming later but there was a problem it was when you were with other people or felt the mood you'd turn on your camera but your soulmate decided to dye their hair and now you had the same exact color (awww and you were really growing into the old color too.)
So basically, when you got ready you joined the call with Karl(But you had your camera off) and the two of you were just playing and then you started ranting how your hair changed because your soulmate dyed their hair, Karl just comforted you and then when you were going to look at chat people wanted to see your hair so you went to open your face cam showing your hair, ruffling it a bit.
Unbeknownst to you, Karl happened to have opened your stream on his monitor, You went to talk again with Karl but he was silent for a while, then he smiled and went to talk about how he dyed his hair and he wanted to show the stream, you told him it was nice and was just oblivious to Karl's doing.
People kept on spamming your chat to check Karl's stream and so you did, you pulled up his stream and there he was, with his hair the same color as yours.
You started screaming and just yelled in disbelief letting out little chuckles, you went to cover your face with your hands and chat was ballistic (Both yours and his chat) .
Quackity.
Okay, so for Quackity I chose the one where you write on your skin it would also appear on your soulmate's (and vice versa).
So for this you use this as a form of communication since you don't know each other, it doesn't get personal but just little details about each other.
I have a feeling Quackity would draw penises as a form of prank and you'd have wash it off quickly because you know, it's embarassing but alas, you can't erase it.
It only happens to disappear after time or when your soulmate erases it.
So basically as payback to the little penises he draws you draw these shapes on your face, there are hearts, stars, and little doodles along with the words Kiss me!
It was all fun and games between you guys, and you wanted to share your little 'prank' on instagram, taking a picture of your self smiling and along with a caption saying how you pranked your soulmate.
After you had posted that you just decided to scroll through instagram smiling, but then your smiled had dropped and you saw someone posting a picture, their face having the same markings as you had drawn but you just didn't do anything and liked his picture.
But for a while it had been eating at you so you went to go and message him about being soulmates.
So you just resulted to doing it the old fashioned way and grabbing your marker and contemplating what to write, you decided to write your username and just left it at that hoping he'd check it out.
It was about a few minutes before your phone vibrated, opening you saw someone had DMed you, going on to instagram it was him!
You went to check out the message it said:

So the two of you are counting down by midnight in video chat talking and waiting for the clock to strike 12, you had been so excited, you've waited for 21 years for this moment to arrive, when the clock had striked 12 you quickly checked out what the mark was.
It was a white music note, it was cute and it was placed on your wrist, you smiled and look at Wilbur, raising you arm up to angle it so that the camera could see it and show Wilbur what the mark looked like, "Check out my soulmate mark." you found Wilbur silent but then he started giggling, "What's so funny?" You asked him frowning as you looked down to your wrist.
"I guess I finally found you, and you were just right under my nose." Wilbur giggled again.
You held a dumbfounded expression before looking down at your mark and back up again before shaking head, "I guess you found me." You said smiling.

Summary: Thomas Shelby has been expanding his business for years, making deals with other gangs all the time. But the Vipers, they were a different story. They’re crazy and dangerous, and they are not willing to share their land, so Tommy sets up a meeting with their leader. It was not who he expected.
a/n: Dudley is a city in England kind of close to Birmingham, just so y’all know.

Polly was minding her business, walking around the shop straightening up here and there. It was just her and Esme at the moment, the betting shop had not yet opened. There was supposed to be a family meeting in about ten minutes, but by the looks of it Tommy was going to be late as perusal.
Ada had just walked in, shortly followed by John and Arthur. Finn stayed with Isaiah, Tommy had told him not to come because it was an “adult” meeting. They all sat around, conversing and just having small talk and after twenty minutes of waiting for Tommy, Polly was fed up.
“Where the bloody hell is that brother of yours?”
John and Arthur looked at eachother wearily, should they tell her?
Their looks didn’t go unnoticed by any of the women. Ada was getting frustrated too, Tommy called the damn meeting so where the hell was he?
“C’mon boys, Polly and I want to know.”
Arthur sighed, rubbing a hand down his face and itching his mustache, “so you see ladies, he-”
Arthur was interrupted by the door to the shop slamming open and banging against the wall, Tommy coming in with literal blood on his hands.
“What the fuck Thomas? Where in the bloody hell have you been? An- and is that blood?! Christ Tommy!” Polly was so confused, her nephew came into his own meeting late, with blood on his hands?
Tommy ignored his aunts questions and walked around the table, lit a cigarette and poured himself a glass of whiskey, Irish of course. He grabbed a cloth and began to wipe the blood off of his hands, all while being silent. Everyone else had grown quiet too, waiting for Tommy to speak, or at least acknowledge them.
He drank his whiskey in one gulp and poured another. He then finally looked up at his family, now clean from the blood on his hands. Well, at least the blood that you could see.
“I’ve been trying to make new...acquaintances you could say,” he took a long drag of his cig, “and people were not happy about it.”
The three women looked at Tommy, waiting for him to explain more. John and Arthur already knew everything, they were just sitting there, waiting for their aunt's reaction to what Tommys was about to say. He quickly drank his second glass. Polly copied his actions, bringing her drink to her lips as well.
“As you all know, our business is expanding everyday. We’ve already reached London, and now, now I’m trying to get to Dudley.”
Ada's eyes widened and Esme immediately got up to leave. Polly began to ferociously cough on her drink, not expecting to hear such news. Arthur leaned over in his seat and aggressively started to smack his aunt’s back, trying to help ease her drink down. Tommy sat there just watching everything with a stoic face.
Polly began to swat at Arthurs hands, and he pulled them back raised in the air defensively, not wanting to get hit by his aunt.
She rose from her seat, a look of disbelief on her face and pointed her manicured finger in Tommy's face, “Are you MAD Thomas?! You have no business being on their land! Now you've done dragged us all into this! Thomas, what in the blo-”
“Hear me out Pol, I’ve al-” Polly cut him off like he did her, she was furious. He was going to get them all killed!
“No Thomas, you listen to me. You go on their land and expect to make a peace treaty with them? They’re so good at what they do no one’s ever seen their faces Tom! Just you wait, this is all going to come back and bite you in your ass!” Polly stormed out of the shop and into their house, slamming the doors behind her.
They all sat in silence for a few seconds before John decided to break it, “well, that went better than I thought it would.” Arthur snorted at that, raising his drink to cover the sound.
“Whose blood was on your hands, Tommy?” For the first time the whole meeting, Ada had finally spoken.
“Some man came up to me and told me to leave, saying they didn’t want the devil to walk among their streets. He pulled a knife on me, so I shot him. Simple as that.”
“Simple as that? Simple as that Tommy? You’ve shot one of her men! This is war now Tommy.”
Arthur looked up from his drink and made eye contact with Ada, “Her? Who in the bloody hell said anything about it being a woman, Ada? You really think the leader of The Vipers is a woman?”
“Haven’t you lot heard? There's been rumors for months about the WHOLE gang being run by women.”
John and Arthur both barked out laughter, women? Why would women be running a gang, let alone one as dangerous as The Vipers.
Ada’s face turned red, cursing her sexest brothers. Stupid men and their cocks.
Tommy sat there reclined in his seat, lost in his own thought. It couldn’t be women, could it?
His sister stood up from her seat, yelling at her brothers before leaving the room in the same fashion Polly had, even slamming the door a little harder.
Arthur smacked his hand against the table, breaking Tommy out of his trance. Him and John were still laughing their asses off.
“Women? Can you bloody believe that Tom? A bloody woman!” John doubled back over in laughter again at Arthurs words. Tommy still just sat there, watching his brothers laugh. He got up to leave the shop, heading to London to see a certain Solomons.

“Tommy, what can I do for you mate?” Alfie was loud, as usual.
Tommy sat in front of Alfie, preparing himself for the conversation ahead of him. “There’s word going around, Alfie, that you are the only ally of The Vipers, is that true?”
Alfie stared blankly ahead of himself before letting out a loud boisterous laugh that had Ollie wincing in the corner. He looked at Tommy and immediately stopped when he saw Tommy was serious.
“Oh, oh you’re serious?” What business could you possibly want with The Vipers Tommy?”
“Is that a yes or no, Alfie? Are you allies with them?”
Alfie eyeballed Tommy before sighing and nodding his head. Tommy smirked at his small victory. “I’m wanting to do business with him, Alfie. I want to expand and put some of my men in Dudley. But, I need help. I’ve heard they’re unpredictable, especially their leader. Would you care to tell me his name, Alf?”
Again, Alfie laughed. He stood up with the help of his cane and leaned on his large desk closer to Tommy, “right, there's two things you need to know Tom. First of all, they are unpredictable and they wouldn’t hesitate to bite your head off if you backstabbed them, yeah.” He paused for a second, debating if he should tell Tommy the second part.
Tommy nodded, waiting for Alfie to continue, but he didn’t.
“What’s the second thing?”
Alfie just smirked down at the brummie, “That's for me to know and for you to find out.”

Three days later it was Friday evening and Tommy had invited everyone for a family dinner, it was all Polly’s idea. They were all gathered around the unnecessary large dining table at Arrow house. Charlie sat next to Tommy, Esme and John were next to each other, their hundreds of kids all at home with a sitter, along with Karl. Polly and Ada were sat side by side and Arthur was in the corner of the room pouring himself a drink. It was getting late, everyone had already ate their dinner and dessert.
“Mary, could you take Charlie up to bed? It’s getting late.”
She quickly walked around the table nodding her head, “Yes, Mr.Shelby.”
Everyone had migrated to the living room now, for once not talking about business. Their laughing was interrupted when there was a knock on the door, they all stood up.
“Who could that possibly be this late at night?” The loud knock had put all of them on edge.
The men all drew their guns, walking to the door, telling the woman to stay put. Naturally none of them listened and they all followed behind the boys.
Tommy swung the door open with his gun pointed out, ready to shoot whoever was there. They were all confused when they didn’t see anybody, but they were even more confused when they looked down to see a box with Tommy’s name on it.
Polly smacked Tommy on the back of his head, “Don't just stand there you idiot, bring the box in!” She reached down and grabbed the box, bringing it in and sitting it on the living room table.
John was a little hesitant, why was there a box? Who had dropped it off?
Tommy inspected the box, it didn’t seem harmful, but that didn’t stop his nerves. He wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but he was a little freaked out at the package too. He slowly reached for the box and ever so slowly opened it.
“BLOODY HELL!”
“WHAT THE FUCK?!”
“TOMMY I-”
“WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?!”
Everyone was screaming and panicking, Tommy had jumped back and almost tripped over his feet, the women had all run to the next room and the men had drawn their guns once again.
Lunging out of the box was a bright green fluorescent Viper, hungry for blood. It striked again, almost catching Esme by the arm as she ran by it. It slithered out the box, its fangs out waiting to catch someone. Arthur began shooting at the floor, steadily putting holes in it. Tommy had finally stood back up, and John reached for Esme to check her for injuries. Arthur kept shooting, still putting bullet holes in Tommy's wooden floors.
A loud bang echoed through the house, and it wasn’t Arthur because he had run out of ammo. There stood Ada with a small revolver in her had, and a bullet lodged in the snakes head. Everyone stopped to stare at her, eyes wide in shock.
“Guess chasing rats finally paid off, huh?”
Polly had walked back in the room and bent down to inspect the green snake before standing up to look Tommy in the eyes.
John hugged Esme to his chest and turned towards his brother, “What in the bloody hell is this Tom?”
Tommy looked at John blankly, he himself didn’t even know. He went to make something up but Pol had beaten him to it.
“This, John,” she reached down and picked up the dead but still squirming snake, “is what you call a Viper.” And with that she flung the snake at Tommy who jumped back in disgust.
Adas head perked up at that, “A viper? But how, they're not native.”
Everyone thought about it a moment, before they put the pieces together. Polly began to laugh maniacally and everyone averted their gaze to her, had she gone mad?
“I told you Thomas! I told you this was going to come back and bite you in your ass!”
Tommy sighed and ran a hand down his sweating face before peering in the box again. Inside was a note and he reached in to grab it and he read it aloud, “Stay off our land Shelby.”
Everyone began to fret again. They were running around like a chicken that got its head cut off, screaming about how Tommy never should have stepped foot in Dudley.
Tommy sat down on his couch, thinking about what to do. What if Charlie had been downstairs? The snake surely would have gotten to him, after all he is just a child. He needed a smoke and a drink as soon as possible, he stood up and marched up to his office to make a phone call, completely ignoring his family's calls of his name

Two weeks after the snake incident, Tommy had managed to get a meeting with you, thanks to the one and only Alfie Solomons. When Tommy had told him what had happened that night he shook his head and chucked, telling Tommy you had done the same thing to him all those years ago. But Tommy still didn’t know who you were.
The three eldest Shelby’s stepped out of Tommy's car and landed on the Dudely turf, they all felt a little uneasy about the situation. They began to follow the directions Alfie had given them, the area getting more and more sketchier as they went.
Dudley was very dull, the sky was always grey and the streets were always muddy. The air was foggy like Birmingham, maybe even worse. They were getting looks everywhere they turned, none of them being used to it considering their name.
A loud clang of metal caught their attention and they all turned to look. All three of them pulled their guns when they saw a scruffy man charging them with a knife. Right when Arthur was about to pull the trigger, they all four stopped when someone yell.
Another man came running towards them, screaming at the man that was attacking them.
“Stop Marc! They’re here because Yilan has agreed to meet with them!”
The man stopped what he was doing immediately, turning as pale as a ghost and dropped his weapon to the ground. He turned back around to the Shleby’s and apologized profusely before running off.
The three brothers looked at each other in confusion.
“What the fuck was that about? Who the hell is Yilan?” John was asking too many questions and Tommy didn’t have the answers to them.
“I don’t fucking know John, now shut the hell up!”
(a/n: Yilan means snake in Turkish [which is my family’s native language])
The man who had stopped the other walked up to the brothers.
“I am sorry, sirs. Yilan is what we call the leader of the Vipers.”
Tommy nodded a thanks to the man, asking him if he could take them to their headquarters. The man reluctantly agreed, not wanting to get on anyones bad side.
After around twenty more minutes of walking they stopped in front of a worn down brick building. It had vines growing up the whole thing and two very, very large men were guarding the door. Their escort had scurried off as soon as they got there, Tommy not even being able to thank the man.
The brothers began to walk towards the door and Arthur leaned down to whisper, “Ha, and Ada said they were run by women!”
John chuckled, he couldn’t wait to tell Ada she was wrong. Tommy hushed the two before speaking to the men guarding the door.
They both stared at the brothers, almost as if they were staring into their souls. They didn’t speak, waiting for one of the others to.
Tommy cleared his throat, “We’re here to see your boss. We have a meeting, Thomas Shelby.”
The larger out of the two opened the door, “Third floor straight down the hallway.” Tommy nodded his head before heading in, the two brothers following his lead.
The inside of the building was loud with music and the walls were all painted bright green. Tommy guessed for a viper. They all walked in a little further and stopped in their tracks, shock registering through their veins.
There was not one man inside. The room was full of women from every race you could imagine. Some had a tattoo here and there, some were covered in them. There was women with red curly hair, others with black straight. Any type of woman you could imagine, from short to tall and thin to curvy, was there. And they were all staring at them.
Arthur gulped and John smirked but then quickly frowned when he realised that his sister was right, this whole gang was women. He did have to admit though, it was a little sexy, even though he knew half of them could probably kick his ass.
Tommy cleared his throat before walking ahead, not making eye contact with any of the women. He walked towards the stairs and climbed them until he got to the third floor and walked straight down the hallway. When they reached the door Tommy hesitated for a moment before knocking. A faint “come in” was heard, and they all walked in.
Sitting behind a large oak desk was you, relaxing in your chair with a wicked smile on your face. You were so ready to finally meet the man who wanted your land.
Not making any effort to sit up in a more presentable position, you gestured to the three chairs in front of you, telling them to take a seat.
Tommy and John did but Arthur was still hesitant. What had they walked into?
“No offense ma’am, I think I would rather stand,” he was fidgeting the whole time and you could smell his nervousness. Tommy looked up and glared at his older brother.
You leaned forward in your chair and rested your arms on your desk and sat your chin on your hands. “Please, Arthur, take a seat before I shoot both your knee caps and make you sit.” You pulled a gun and sat it on your desk, smiling up at Arthur.
John was a nervous wreck and Arthur visibly gulped and sat down with shaky legs. Tommy kept staring at you though, he thought you were beautiful, but psycho. You intrigued him.
You leaned back in your chair again, leaving the gun on the desk. “Mr.Shelby, I do really hope you enjoyed my gift the other day. Alfie told me it brought… excitement to your family.”
God you were definitely psycho.
Tommy cleared his throat, “Ms.Yilan I-”
You sat back up again, “No no no, Mr.Shelby, that is not my name. Please, call me y/n.”
For a brief moment there, you almost seemed normal. It scared the brothers how easily your emotions changed.
“Right, okay. Let's not even talk about that, okay? Let's just get straight to business. And please, call me Tommy”
“I like the way you think, Tommy.”
And boy did you like the way he looked too.
“First of all Tommy, I do NOT like you coming on to MY land and shooting MY people.” You were getting angry, your eyes were ablaze and your jaw was clenched.
“That man you shot, Tommy, had a family. He had a wife and two daughters, and now I have to spend MY money on them because YOU shot their caretaker. I could be doing so much more with that money.”
Tommy was taken aback with your forwardness, those were not the words he was expecting to hear.
“He charged me with a knife, it was self de-”
“Nonsense Tommy! You could have simply knocked him out, anything but shoot him! He was an innocent man Thomas!”
Tommy sighed, he knew there was no winning this. “You’re right, and I apologize for my mistake.”
John and Arthur looked at each other with wide eyes, Tommy apologized?
“Thank you, but your apology is not accepted, but I do believe we're even.”
Tommy’s brows furrowed, even? How were you even?
This caught Johns interest too, “Even? How do you mean?”
You smirked at all of them and they became concerned, what had you done?
“On your way here, hope you all had a nice trip by the way, I sent two of my women to your town. I told them to do exactly as you did, but add some Viper charm to it. They took my beloved snake Ebony with them, and they allowed her to pick an innocent man, like you had.”
Tommy was definitely confused now, where was this going?
“She did amazing, really. She struck an innocent man in the streets. And I would say that right about now,” you checked your watch, “her venom is kicking in, and he is dying a slow and painful death.” You looked up at the three, flashing them an innocent smile.
“You fucking crazy bitch! What the bloody hell is wrong with you?!” Arthur lunged for you across your desk, Tommy and John trying to stop him.
He grabbed your gun that you left on the table and pointed it straight to your face. All you did was smirk at him.
Tommy pleadingly begged Arthur to put the gun down, but you held up your hand to stop him. He looked at you like you were crazy. Which to be fair, you were.
“Go on Arthur,” you pressed your head closer to the barrel, “I know you want to. Why don’t you pull it, huh? Do the world a favor and get rid of a crazy bitch like me.”
Arthur stared in your eyes, looking for any sign of fear. He found none. He thought about it for a moment, should he do it? After all, the world would be a better place.
He smiled, and pulled the trigger.
But nothing happened, his smile fell when he heard you laughing. He opened the barrel to the gun and found that there were no bullets, you had played him. He backed away and fell back in his chair when you got up. You pulled a gun from the waistband of your trousers and pointed it towards him, shooting a shot that whizzed by his head so he knew this one was full. John flinched, and Tommy reached for his own gun.
You pointed your gun at John and then back at Arthur, “You two, get out. I want to speak to Thomas. Alone.”
They both got up and scurried out the door like a dog with its tail tucked between its legs. You put your gun away which was a sign for Tommy too as well, and you both sat down.
“Now Thomas, lets talk about business, yeah?”

Almost an hour later you and Tommy had finally come to terms and made a small business deal. It wasn’t anything big, but it was a start. Tommy still sat in front of you, drinking his whiskey that you had poured him. Oddly enough he had grown to like you.
Strangely, so had you.
Tommy put out his cigarette and pointed his drink in your direction, “What’re you doing this Friday y/n?”
You pretended to check your agenda, and smiled at Tommy. “Well, hopefully I’ll being going on a date with a very handsome man.”
He smiled up at you “He must be quite handsome for you to agree.”
“That he is Tommy. How about you?”
He smirked at you through the rim of his drink, “Oh you know, I’m going on a date with one crazy bitch.”

Hello! Can we get a little something for the hermit canyon AU? I was thinking something Karl centered, maybe they accidentally find his library or otherwise find out about his "travels". They're probably invisible for the whole thing, but do they do anything afterwards? Do they leave little notes and reminders? Would they try to help at all? Or would they push it to the back of their minds and try to forget about it?
Unlike most discoveries made by Hermits, Joe does not find a secret location on a normal surface run. When Etho found the Pogtopia ravine, it was a mystery to him, unsettling and vivid. When Grian found Technoblade's snowy cabin, it was on complete accident, just because Grian needed to explore, to get out of the canyon for a few hours.
When Joe exits the canyon, as he rarely does, he makes a beeline for Karl's library. Time is... not something Joe concerns himself with, but he prefers to constrict himself to the linear travel of the fourth dimension nowadays-- if such a thing as "nowadays" can be said to exist when tangling with time.
Where was he? Ah, yes. He moves quickly, because he dislikes spending more time away from Xisuma's side than absolutely necessary, even if the admin has been having a run of good health days and there are twenty-two other Hermits to attend to the admin in an emergency. He doesn't bother with invisibility, or walking, or other mundane things. Joe simply hovers in the air, flying toward his destination and perhaps fiddling with the tick speed just a little, just enough to get him there faster.
There's a residual feeling of familiarity, like a relationship with an ex-girlfriend which has long since turned sour, near the canyon. There's a whisper there of magic, of gleaming white spires, but all Joe can see is red.
"It's a shame, what they did to this library," Joe mutters with a tsk. Posters of hazy LSD-esque drawings of various time periods and locations line the walls, molding away as red vines climb on them, devour them.
He shrugs. Might as well move on; nothing of value remains here.
To the south is a place Etho has visited only briefly and in passing: Kinoko Kingdom. It's a hotspot of activity at times, and a ghost town at others. Etho didn't even know the name of the place until Puffy reported it. Joe doesn't care. For all that Etho likes to present himself as a cryptid, scaring poor innocent wood-dwelling folk who are just looking for a big fuzzy triclopean spouse, Joe is the one with experience as a cryptid. Let them see him. What are they going to say, "I saw Herobrine"?
He touches down, finally, in front of another library made from mushrooms and wood. Allowing his eyes to flash white for a moment so that he can ferret out the building's secret room, he is both disappointed and unsurprised to see it empty of life. Karl Jacobs, resident time traveller, is not there.
Joe closes his eyes. He doesn't want to have to do this. For decades, there was a place he called home, a place he built from the ground up. It was a place in between life and death, and so he called it the Inbetween.
He opens his eyes, and he is there. It's like walking down a street you've been down a hundred thousand times before; even with your eyes closed, you know where you're going. There are no longer dozens of imperfect copies of himself running around, brainless and waiting to be culled like lambs to the slaughter in order to fuel an affront against nature. Now, there are many iterations of Karl, all wandering aimlessly... save one.
The only version of Karl wearing color stands in an open-air corridor near the courtyard. Even from a distance, Joe can see his chest rise and fall far too rapidly for him to actually be getting any air. (Joe sees everything here, where his eyes are white and cannot be anything but white.)
"Why am I here?" Karl babbles to himself. "I haven't time-travelled-- or did I already forget?"
"You didn't forget," Joe reassures him. It does not have the intended effect.
Karl screams, turning around so quickly that he falls on his ass. He scoots away like a crab missing a leg, scrambling for some distance. "Your eyes--!"
"Come closer," Joe says. "I won't hurt you."
"You're Herobrine!"
Joe exhales slowly. "I was Herobrine. What I am is the only person who can help you."
Karl warily clambers to his feet. None of the other Karls dressed in white pay the two men any mind. "What do you mean?"
"You've got yourself stuck in a dimensional loop of Homestuck proportions, Karl," Joe says. "So did I, when I built this place. It took me decades to figure out how to get out of it, and I knew what I was doing. You don't have that."
"Am I stuck here forever, then?" Karl says mournfully. He waves a hand at the carefree automatons wearing his face. "Will I become one of them?"
Joe takes a few slow steps closer, keeping his hands where the stressed-out time traveller can see them. "I'll take care of things on this end. You won't ever have to come back here again."
Karl sags in relief like a marionette with its strings cut.
"Does the name Eret mean anything to you?" Joe asks. It's a name he's heard from Puffy's lips once or twice, and if her information holds true, things could get much easier.
Karl blinks. "Uh... Yeah? What about them?"
Joe continues. "Dark hair, tall, white eyes like mine?"
"I've never seen Eret without their sunglasses, but I guess, yeah," Karl replies. Of all the things he would have expected Herobrine to ask about, Eret isn't one of them.
"Imagine what Eret looks like," Joe suggests. "Think real hard about them. Imagine them here, in the Inbetween, right in front of us."
Karl has no idea why Herobrine wants him to daydream about Eret (even if their voice is very nice), but if the man is pulling his leg, well-- it's fucking Herobrine, he can do what he wants.
Speaking of that nice voice, Karl hears the voice in question scream out of nowhere. Karl flinches away from the sudden loud noise, before his eyes catch up to his brain and he realizes that he just magicked Eret into existence in the Inbetween.
"What the fuck," Eret says. "H-Herobrine, uh, long time no s-see..?"
"Sorry about that time I kinda tortured you," Herobrine says brightly. "I'm nicer now."
"I doubt--" Eret begins caustically, then remembers exactly who they're talking to and shuts their mouth. "...Why is everything so dark?"
"Take off your sunglasses," Herobrine suggests.
Eret grimaces, but obeys. This place is practically humming with magic, so they just know they're going to get blinded by it the moment they remove their glasses, but they remember what happened last time they pissed Herobrine off.
Wincing, they remove the sunglasses, expecting pain and receiving... nothing. The glint of light on quartz is a bit uncomfortable, but that's a normal human uncomfortable that Eret hasn't experienced since they were a teenager.
Herobrine smacks them on the forehead with his palm. "I take back what I said about 'living with this power for the rest of your life', and all that," he says. "You can turn 'em off now. I'd recommend not turning those eyes back on, though-- at least, not here. It's a little bright, magic-wise."
Eret gapes. All these years, they feared the day they'd meet this powerful man again, imagined what they'd say as they cursed his name or begged his forgiveness... and here he is, giving them exactly what they desperately hoped for but knew they'd never receive simply because he's 'nicer now'.
"Herobrine," Eret says, "why have you done this?"
"Call me Joe," Herobrine says.
Karl interjects, "Joe mama," under his breath. It is with the utmost shock on Eret's behalf that Karl does not in fact get immediately smited into oblivion, merely smacked on the forehead.
"Now you won't forget," Herobrine-- Joe says. "Anyway, I have shenanigans to be up to back in the canyon, so I'll send y'all back now. Those red vines are bad news, and so is their egg, so y'all better take care of that, please. It's really messing your server up."
Karl blanches. "The canyon?"
"Oh, look at the time. Have fun, be safe, bye," Joe says with affected mild disinterest.
Both Karl and Eret have so much to say, so many questions to ask, but they fade away before they get the chance.

The sun has been long gone, setting over the tall buildings. People were bustling in and out of the doors, the slow moving atmosphere quickly gathering more people for party nights. The low yellow light illuminated the inside of building, the strong scent of coffee and sound of the coffee grinder filling the air. 
Unfortunately for you, you had a lot of work to do in only a little bit of time, meaning filling your body with caffeinated liquids and numerous hours in the café. Clicking away on your keyboard, you took a sip of what seemed to be your millionth drink. 
From behind the counter, a fluffy brunette haired barista watched you with curious eyes. To say he wasn’t worried would be a lie, he had seen you sit there for hours on end, sometimes put your head in your hands, serving you multiple drinks, wondering if you would ever take a break. Karl also was curious from the moment you had stepped in the door, you had him entranced. 
Taking another glance at your figure, Quackity rolled his eyes at Karl.
“Karl- you keep staring at them, take a picture” “Quackity! I wasn’t doing anything.” “Uh huh sure- why don’t you bring them a baked good or sandwich, god knows how long they’ve been there working.” “Really?” “I’ll cover for you”
Picking one of the sandwiches, hopefully one that you would like, he put it in the toaster and pulled out a plate. Once the small ding could be heard, he put it on the plate and nervously headed you way.
Eyes focused on your screen, you had not even noticed the sandwiched handed barista.
“Um- sorry this is for you, I just kinda noticed you’ve been here for a while and hadn’t eaten.” “Oh- thank you, uhm did you want a seat?” You gestured to the empty seat in front of you. 
The least you could do was offer the barista, who embarrassingly had seen you struggle and work endlessly, a seat from his work. You were a bit more embarrassed than you normally would have once you saw how cute he was. 
“Oh- I get off in 20 minutes, I can join you then?” “Yea of course! Let me quickly finish this up so we can chat.”   
Excited, karl quickly went back behind the counter, counting down the minutes till his shift ended. Quackity just laughed at his friend’s antics, trying to clam him down from his nerves. 
Soon enough, you hear the scarping of the chair in front of you as Karl takes a seat, apron gone.
“Hi, sorry it took a bit, I’m Karl by the way.” You noticed Karl’s cheeks were a bit flushed, ears turned slightly red.  “Y/n, nice to meet you” “Do you mind if I ask you what you’ve been working on? You’ve been doing it for quite a while”  “Oh- just some work I’ve put off and it’s due soon”
After lots of small talk, you quickly warmed up to one another, the two of you had just clicked so well. 
“No way- five packs of gum??” “They were all spearmint! Just different brands!”
The time talking to Karl had felt so short, but in reality it had hit 12 am, signaling the close to the cafe and for you to go home.
“Well thanks so much for that much needed break from my work and for the sandwich again.” “No problem- uhm can I walk you home? It’s kind of late out and I don’t want anything to happen to you.” “I’d love that”
Thankful you were able to continue the conversation, you lead the way down the street to your place.
“How’s working at the cafe?” “It’s really fun I enjoy it, one of my best friends work with me, Quackity, the one with all the gum in his car” “That must be fun”
You tried to walk slower, not wanting the conversation to end. Upon reaching the door the two of you stood awkwardly, Karl pulled his sleeves down a bit past his hands, you fidgeting slightly.
“So- I really enjoyed talking to you y/n, hey next week we have this new drink at the cafe-” “Are you asking me to come back and see you?” You felt yourself smile, glad that the cute barista wants to even see you again. Karl flushed a bright red, you had seen right through him. “I mean if you want-” “Gladly, here’s my number, I’ll let you know when I’m free. See you next week!” 
As the door closed behind you, Karl started getting giddy, exhaling all the stress out of his body. He was so excited to see you, glad he could even talk to you. He couldn’t wait, pumping his fist into the air as he exited towards his own home.

Idiots - Part 1
Karl Jacobs x gn!reader
tldr: They’ve both got a crush. Sucks, since they’re the only ones oblivious to it. (Slow Burn!)
CW: some swearing(not at each other), fluffy as a teddy bear.
a/n: I got a random influx of followers ;-; Tysm for enjoying my works and sharing them. I haven’t written in 6 years, in case it wasn’t obvious lmao, so even one is super meaningful to me :) this ended up being way longer than I intended it to be so I’m splitting it into 2 parts.

Part 1 - Part 2
Y/n and Karl met when Karl was still going to college in New York before dropping things to move to North Carolina. They met the fall of their sophomore year at the campus café when Karl was trying to shoot a piece of paper into a trash can. The problem was he couldn’t aim and it landed right in y/n’s mug of coffee, quickly dissolving into a paper coffee soup. For anyone else it would’ve been okay but being that coffee was y/n’s life line, especially during finals, it most definitely was not.
“You’re buying me another, right?” they asked, “I would highly recommend it or you might see a side of me you don’t want to see.”
Being the good guy he was, and the slight fear of their bad side, he did with no questions.
“So, since there’s a side of you I don’t want to see, and I bought you a new coffee, do I get to see the side of you that I do want to see?”
“Find me next semester and you might.”
And he did.

“Karl, if you don’t give me that sword, I’m going to hurt you!” Y/n screamed as they lunged toward him. It was y/n, Karl, and Chris hanging out at Karl’s place until it was time to leave for a Mr. Beast project. They sat in his living room, Karl with a foam sword that y/n was desperate to take from him.
“That’s the problem! If I give it to you, you will hurt me with it!” He yelled back, jumping out of their reach.
“Okay children, why don’t I just take the sword so we can end all of this?” Chris intervened in an attempt to stop the ruckus.
Both of them paused, looking at him in disbelief. They shook their head and in unison scoffed, “No!”
The two continued their play fighting, one holding on to the sword for a short period of time before the other pulled it from their grasp. This went on until it was time to leave the house.
While this was all going down, Chris watched Karl’s behavior. He noticed how he let y/n hold on to the sword a little longer, even when he could’ve easily reached out to grab it from their hands. He noticed how he was much more careful with his movements, almost scared to be too rough with them.
With anyone else, Chris knew Karl’s pride would have taken over in this situation. He thought back to any other time he had any of his SMP friends over. With Nick or Alex, he would have hogged the sword and brutally whacked either of them with it as much as he could. He would happily tacked them and pinned them to the ground. With y/n though... there was a gentleness with them, and Chris did not fail on picking that up.
“Okay lame-os, let’s get on over to the warehouse. Y/n, you coming?” Chris asked.
Y/n shook their head, “Nah. I’m gonna unpack my stuff and relax from the flight. Plus, word on the street says that tomorrow is when the cool stuff is happening so I’ll come then.” they replied.
“Well the street is right, but they’re still a dummy,” Chris looked at Karl for reference.
“Hey...” Karl faked a sad look before staring at y/n for defense.
Y/n giggle and just shrugged, waving goodbye to the both of them, “If you don’t bring me back Burger King fries, don’t bother coming back at all!”

Chris and Karl sat in the car, Chris driving and Karl in the passenger seat. With some music on in the background, the two were discussing the plan of action for what was going to be filmed for the day.
“Do you know how long it’s going to take?” Karl asked, “I feel bad leaving y/n by themselves so I want to try to get out as early as humanly possible.”
“I’m not really sure. I’m sure Jimmy wouldn’t mind you scootin’ out a little early,” Chris replied. He took the opportunity and leaned over to his friend, “Speakin’ of y/n, anything going on there? Y’know, anything special?”
“Uhh- whaddya mean special?” Karl haphazardly, “We’re best friends. I think that’s pretty special.”
“No, idiot. I mean is there anything there besides just being best friends,” Chris paused for a second, “I dunno. I just noticed you’re different with them, man. You know you would never treat Nick or Alex the way you treated them.”
Karl paused, trying to think of a response but failing. He sighed, “Yeah, there’s definitely something there on my end. I mean, I’ve been attracted to them since we first met. I just don’t think they reciprocate it.”
“You never know if you don’t try. What’s the worst that can happen?”
“I’d rather not think about it,” Karl sunk into his seat, thinking of all the bad endings that could happen if he told y/n his feelings.

Meanwhile this was happening, y/n was making themselves comfortable in Karl’s guest room. They planned on staying for a week and a half which meant packing a month’s worth of clothes. Before starting to unpack their things into the dresser, they FaceTimed their other best friend that was back in New York to keep them company.
“You’re calling me now? Your flight landed 4 hours ago! I was sure you crashed in the middle of the ocean - gone like that Malaysia flight,” y/bff answered.
“Hi to you too,” y/n responded as they started to place their clothes in the closet, “ You are so dramatic. My flight didn’t even go over the ocean. And don’t act like you weren’t tracking my flight. You knew damn well I was fine.”
“All this worrying and caring, and this is how I’m being treated?” Y/bff shook their head as the wiped their fake tears away “The disrespect.”
“Pft, the only disrespect I’m seeing here is the lack of questions about my day,” y/n said, “I had a great flight. I got those yummy blue chips and had a nice drive from the airport in a Tesla.”
Y/bff gasped, “What kind of Uber driver is driving around a Tesla? We need more of those people up here.”
“Dude, it was Karl,” y/n replied, “I was shocked. Last time I saw this kid he was driving a hunk of junk. One year down here and he’s driving around like he’s Elon Musk.”
“Well, I’ll tell you this now. If you don’t cuff him, I will!” Their laugh echoed through the phone
Y/n rolled their eyes, “Oh please, if he doesn’t like me like that then you’re in no good luck.”
“So you told him then?”
“No, not yet,” y/n paused, “I dunno. We’ve been friends for 3, almost 4, years now. If he liked me, he would’ve said something by now. Plus we live so far away from each other now. I just don’t wanna ruin a good thing, y’know?”
“Well, I still say do it. You can tell him and spend your life in peace knowing his answer, or keep it to you yourself and spend the rest of your life wondering ‘what if?’ And I’ll tell you now, the latter always ends with regret. With the first answer, you’ll at least have a chance of a happy ending.”
Y/n shrugged, putting away the last piece of clothing from their luggage, “I know, I know. I’ll think about it. Thanks for the chat, but I’m gonna go relax now before he gets back. I love and miss you already.”
They exchanged their goodbyes and hung up. Y/n flattened their luggage and slid it under the bed. Moving back to the dresser, they found some comfortable clothes to change into after a shower.
Y/n knew y/bff was right. They just couldn’t bring themselves to share their feelings. What if Karl didn’t feel the same way? Would it ruin their friendship? Would this be the last time they ever saw each other? No, y/n knew it wouldn’t end their friendship, but it would make it awkward for a little while. They moved to the bathroom. Maybe a shower would help them compose their thoughts.

“I’m back!” Karl shouted as he kicked the door shut behind him. The project took a few hours so the sun had set and nighttime was settling itself in North Carolina. There was no response. Karl continued, “And I have Burger King fries!”
“You should’ve started out with that! Coming!” Y/n yelled from down the hall. Karl rolled his eyes and walked over to the living room table. He started making room for the food when he heard fast footsteps coming toward him.
“Incoming!” Y/n yelled, tackling him to the floor with a hug. They were giggling as if they just pulled the best prank in the world.
“Hi to you too,” he groaned from his body hitting the floor. Y/n continued to chuckle as they got up, grabbing Karl’s hand to help him up too. They sat on the couch, looking at the food in front of them.
“A whole whopper meal? What did I do to get the honors, Mr. Jacobs?” Y/n remarked in a posh accent, popping a fry into their mouth.
“You existed,” Karl giggled out. Y/n smiled, but the butterflies in their stomach couldn’t feign their excitement. It was small shit like that that made y/n fall for Karl. He continued, “Plus I didn’t know if you ate or not so I thought better safer than sorry.”
“Aw, you’re the sweetest,” they gave him a tight hug before returning to the spot they were in on the couch, “So, what’s the plan, Stan?”
“I’m kind of tired from filming, I hope you don’t mind-”
“Actually, I completely mind” y/n replied sarcastically. Karl shook his head at them.
“So, I was thinking we could just watch a movie or watch a show,”
“Ah yes, head empty activities. I’m down. Can we watch a movie though? Not in the mood for a show right now,” y/n replied.
“Sure let’s scroll through and find something,” Karl switched on the TV and the two munched on their food while they decided what they were going to watch. After 20 minutes of scrolling, which really was 20 minutes of fighting over who had better taste in movies, they finally agreed on Wall-E.
Before the movie started, y/n looked over to Karl. Their hands were in the shape of finger guns, pointed to each other and the tips of their index fingers touching. They had a pout on their face when they asked, “Can we cuddle while we watch?”
“No,” Karl shook his head quickly, keeping a stoic, straight face. Y/n’s pout got bigger. He continued, “I absolutely hate physical touch.”
They both immediately broke out into giggles, y/n grabbing the nearest pillow and smacking him with it, “You are so lame.”
Karl continued with his fit of giggle, “The day I say that and mean it is the day hell freezes over.”
As the intro to the movie played, the two came closer, y/n’s legs tangling up with Karl’s. When they finished up their food, they moved closer with Karl’s arm around y/n’s shoulders and their head laying on his chest.
Y/n gave a playful scoff, reminiscing on their past memories together, “This reminds me of the time we had a Disney movie marathon before spring break.”
Karl laughed, “Yeah, and you made my old roommate cry beforehand because he wasn’t doing his dishes all semester.”
“In my defense, I gave him warnings. He didn’t wanna listen and there’s no way I was letting you live in a house with a sink full of fruit flies.”
“I’m not sure if you did that for me or because you practically lived with us.”
“Don’t get it mixed up, pretty boy. That was for you.” Karl smiled at those words, looking down at the person laying on their chest. He wanted to believe there was more than friendship behind those words. The warm feeling he would always get with them filled his chest as he turned his focus back to the movie.
“I really missed you.” He whispered.
“I really missed you too.”

Alex folded his arms, “What about them? You fucking lying to them too?” 
You ran a hand through your hair, “I’m not lying about anything!” 
“YOU JUST SAID YOU WERE FALLING OUT OF LOVE!” you jumped, surprised at his yelling, “So if that’s true why’d you fucking tell us you loved us last night?” 
“I don’t know if I am Alex! I need time to figure this out!” 
“So it’s just me then. You just want to leave me!” 
“I might be falling out of love with all of you!” You shakily admitted, desperately searching your boyfriends eyes, “And I’m terrified! I don’t want to fall out of love! I don’t want to leave any of you! I just need time to figure this out.” 
Alex sat in silence, refusing to look at you. 
Shakily you grabbed the bag you’d been packing when he found you, just a few of the outfits you kept at that apartment, along with your music stuff, “I’m going back to California, just for a month or so.” 
“I thought you sold the apartment.” He sounded to blunt, to broken. 
“I pulled out of the deal, and my stuff hadn’t been shipped yet. I- I don’t want to leave Alex,” You slipped your bag over your shoulder, “I- didn’t want it to be like this.” 
“So you were going to leave when they were out.” He spat. 
You froze in grabbing your guitar, “I was going to try and make this hurt less. If me leaving to find out if I should stay or not is what it takes, then why make it hurt more?” 
“What am I suppose to tell them?” Alex asked desperately. 
“The truth. I’ll be back when I figure this out.” 
“And if it isn’t what I want it to be?” 
You took a deep breath, “I think you’ll know.”
You walked out the door, trying to ignore the way small sobs filled the apartment as you left, tears working there way into your own eyes.

California, though isolating you enough to sort out your feelings, was far too numbing to provide Alex the technical closer he thought was coming. 
Karl had been heartbroken when he found out you left, and the few months that you’d been gone had only helped to break him more, especially as the only news they got about you came from the updates on your upcoming album. 
Nick had been equally heartbroken,  though somewhat mad, he’d learned to live with it, instead focusing his angry energy into keeping his boyfriends together and functional.

You sighed, sitting up as your apartment door closed. 
You knew it was wrong, deep down, these one night stands, and evenings lost in a haze of alcohol, deep down, you missed them, and none of this was making the feelings you’d tried to press back down after the first experimental hook up. 
Rubbing at your eyes you quietly began to get dressed, ideas running through your mind. 
Pulling up twitter you found yourself scrolling through Alex’s twitter, he seemed to be doing okay, Nick was, well he hadn’t been active on twitter before, but Karl’s twitter remained silent. 
That was what got you worried. 
Karl was never not active on twitter, but even his second account had remained quiet since you left. 
Grabbing a bottle of water you sat down, thankful for your moment of clarity as you picked up your guitar, ready to get to work. 
“I only feel the ground under my feet...”
This was going to be a huge gamble.

���Guys!” Karl called softly from his place on the couch. 
“Yeah baby?” Alex yawned. 
“(y/n) just posted a new single on youtube.” 
“So?” Nick asked, bitterly, “Why should we care?” 
“Oh, I- I was just wondering, if we could watch it. We- we don’t have to.” Karl said softly. 
Nick softened upon hearing his voice, “Alright, lets see it.” 
They cuddled together next to Karl as he pulled up the video, the description reading, ‘come back home, less of an apology, more of a plea’.
The video opened on a dark room, partially lit by a lamp in the corner, only about half of your face was visible, as well as the guitar in your hands. 
You took a deep breath a sighed, before beginning to play. 
The screen split to show the recordings of you playing the other parts, both in similar dark rooms. 
“I had to leave, to see, how good I had it, I had it, I had to go, to know how good I had it. Would you have me if I came back home?” 
They watched as the scene shifted, you as you walked through a park in LA, “My mama said when I was six years old,  I would always sit up by the window, I would always say this city way too cold. Wish there was another place I could go She would ask where and I would say,” 
There was an arieal of the same park, “Where, anywhere, tell me where 'cause I'm scared, If I'm here then I'll never see paradise, I just wanna see paradise.”  As you repeated the chorus, back in your room, and then moved on to singing about them, “Yeah I’d been dating Nick for three years, we’d made a promise, cause we were just kids in college, thinkin’ bout our tomorrows, 
“then we met Karl, course we had to keep ‘im, he made the grass even greener, cause theoretically he made us even more complete, 
“but then along came Alex, and we pulled him in, but he looked me in the eyes when I said ‘my heart isn’t in it’ , he challenged that thought, asked me ‘So where is it?’
Alex clamped a hand over his mouth, burying his head in Karl’s shoulder. 
“I said, where, anywhere, tell me where ‘cause I’m scared, if I’m here then I’ll never see paradise, I just wanna see paradise.” 
The scene changed from the park back to your room, “So I had to leave to see, How good I had it, I had it, I had to go to know, How good I had it, Would you have me if I come back home?”
The room remained dark, though your voice became a bit more upbeat as you sang, “Nothing better than my mama rice and beans, All the sound, the people yellin' on the street, The lights when I land at JFK,The cold wind when it hits me in my face,
“I only feel the ground under my feet when my boys are standin' right there next to me and Those the things that make me feel at home And that's the only paradise I know, so..” 
The room began to brighten, just a bit, as the extra voice overs were added.  “I had to leave to see, How good I have it, I have it, I had to go to know, How good I have it (How good I have it) I have it (So I'm comin' home)”
Pictures began to flash on the screen, pictures of you all together, during streams, while you were working on music, a video of you and Karl, trapped by an Alex sleeping across your laps while Nick laughed.
The beach day you’d had last year, Karl and Alex decorating your recoding spot with fairy lights, Nick with you up on his back, you and Alex singing, behind the scenes of one of Karls mr. beast videos, midnight moments, and small moments, all flooding the screen. 
“Nothing better than my mama's rice and beans (Ooh, ooh, I'm comin' home) All the sound, the people yellin' on the street, The lights when I land at JFK, (Oh, I'm comin' home), The cold wind when it hits me in my face I only feel the ground under my feet when my boys are standin' right there next to me and (Yeah, I'm gon' come back home) Those the things that make me feel at home, And that's the only paradise I know.” 
The pictures faded, and you smiled softly at the camera, “Would you have me if I came back home?” 
The video faded away, and the boys were knocked out of there trance by a knock at the door. 
Shakily Alex stood up, blinking away tears as he moved to answer it.
“(y/n).”
You smiled, “You saw the video yeah?” 
He practically burst into tears, “Yeah.” 
“So? Will you have me since I came back home?” You sang softly. 
Alex surged forward, throwing his arms around you, tears falling from both sets of eyes as he pulled you inside.
In the living room Nick was holding a still crying from the video Karl,  glaring up at you, “You had to make him cry one more time?” 
Karl sniffled, “These are good tears.” 
You smiled, setting your bag down before maneuvering to sit down with Alex still wrapped around you. 
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have left for that wrong. I do love you all.” 
“We love you too.”

You never remembered much of your childhood. Everything was kinda foggy and Chris always told you not to push yourself. Only one detail stood out from the rest. The strange man with a hat. It was the only thing you remembered clearly. He gave you toys and would sometimes play with you. Although one day he stopped showing up. You remember being sad and crying, but very vaguely.
Part of you wanted to believe that the man was a made up thing. That the little toy you had from him was never from him to begin with. Maybe you just had an imaginary friend. Even so, it all felt way too real. You knew, deep down, that the man with the hat was real and you wanted to see him again. But so much time has passed. Would he even be alive anymore? All you wanted to know was why he stopped showing up. “Maybe he died in the time he didn’t come anymore” you thought to yourself. This idea made your skin crawl. No, he had to be alive.
You never thought you’d meet him again. Especially since, you couldn’t even remember where you grew up. All you knew is that is was a village. Your past was like a broken puzzle. Your memory of it was so bad in fact, you questioned it’s accuracy and existence at times. But when you went to visit Ethan and Mia in their new house you got a strange feeling in your stomach. Something was telling you your roots belong there. A weird sensation saying you’re close to home.
You were not there for work, so when things went down and Chris shot Mia, you were as shocked as Ethan and demanded an explanation. But just like Ethan, you were not told anything. Everything happened so fast, you had no idea where to start. Chris not telling you anything, the accident, the strange woman you saw picking Rose up before passing out and waking up being almost frozen. You barely managed to drag yourself to Ethan who still seemed to be unconscious. You were just glad he was alive at least so you did what you could to wake him up.
When you and Ethan reached the village, your eyes widened. You remembered everything. This was home. You didn’t even think before your mouth opened by itself.
“Ethan I have to find someone, will you be fine without me?” you asked.
“What? Who? Do you know this place?”
“It appears I do. I have to go Ethan. I have to find him” you said as you were already going further away.
Everything was so clear now. This was the missing piece. You easily recognized the streets and houses and moved around them as if you never left.
Something wasn’t right tho. The streets were very quiet and the houses looked abandoned. As if the people just ran away. You walked in a few of them and you could see the food on the counter. There was also no sign of anyone. Not even a bird in the sky. So the broken branches made you jump up and turning around you saw something hideous. It resembled a human in a way, but you knew it wasn’t. Your heart was racing as you had no weapon on you. But to your surprise, the creature didn’t approach further, it just stared at you. After what seemed like forever, it left. It took you a while to compose yourself, bur once you did, you hurried your steps to the factory. Your legs seemed to move by themselves, faster and faster through the snow.
“My my, I didn’t expect anyone else to be left” you heard a voice say behind you. A voice you recognized in an instant. It was him. You turned around, eyes wide full of curiosity and you saw him, the strange man with the hat.
“I-I..”
“Did the cat eat your tongue?” he smirked while approaching you.
“D-do you remember me?” you finally managed to ask.
He raised an eyebrow “I can’t remember everyone in this village, nor I care to”
“You stopped showing up!” you said.
And then it hit him and he was taken aback. Karl knew exactly who you were. But how was that possible? And you were all grown up now.
“You’re all grown up! Oh my, look at you” he smiled at you.
“I still have this” you pulled out a little toy from your pocket “you made it for me”
“Yes yes, I remember” he was looking at you in awe.
“So why? What happened? Why did you stopped showing up? Why couldn’t I remember anything about this place? I have so many question” you were speaking very fast.
“Woah woah, easy Y/N. One question at a time. Come on now, it’s not safe to talk out here” he said and started walking in the factory’s direction and so you followed.
Once you reached the destination, Heisenberg stopped and you bumped into his back.
“Let me ask you something Y/N. Why are you here?” he turned around to face you.
“There was an accident, and a woman who kidnapped Rose...Rose is Ethan’s daughter, the guy I came here with...I don’t remember much..we just followed the trail of blood and ended up here” you explained “and once I stepped foot here, I started to remember”.
Karl knew exactly what you were talking about. He knew about Ethan and Rose, but he didn’t think you’d be there too.
He took in a deep breath “so buttercup, what questions do you have for me?”
“What happened? My past is the most confusing part about me”
Karl questioned whether he should tell you the truth or just invent something plausible. You were very dear to him and not a day passed without him thinking of you. He always wondered how your life was and where you were. He decided you deserved to know.
“Well Y/N, it’s a long story” he started as he went to get a chair “so you should sit”.
You sat down and looked at him, your head tilting to one side, signaling for him to continue.
“I suppose you remember how we met. You were very young and the first kid to not cry and scream at the sight of me. You were curious so I allowed you to stay around. But being so close with you was dangerous. If that bitch Miranda were to find out, I was worried she might hurt you. So I stopped showing up and paid the duke to get you out of the village. You were supposed to forget everything about this place once you were out”.
“But I didn’t forget about you” you said.
“Yes, which is why I’m so confused. You weren’t supposed to remember me”
You and Karl talked for hours about yours and his life, you laughed and recalled all the times you played together. All the toys he made for you. For the first time in forever, Karl forgot about the world. It’s been so long since he last saw you, almost 30 years. But no amount of time passed changed just how much he cared about you. He told you about Miranda and his plans and you were very excited to help him in any way you could.
Karl was happy to have you back. He almost forgot how fun you were to be around, even with how annoying you were as a kid. Although much older now, you didn’t change much. You were still very excited about every little thing in his factory. You truly made the place more lively.
For the sake of old times, Karl made you a little something. It was a beautiful flower built from tiny metal pieces. The smile on your face make him go red. He forgot you’re not a little kid anymore. Unlike him, you were aging. He couldn’t even remember his own age anymore, he stopped counting after 40 something. Unlike you, he didn’t change at all. You were a fully grown adult now, yet he was just like you remembered him.
Part of him was feeling guilty. Last time he saw you, you were just a kid and now, you’re making him blush, your smile making his heart race. It was weird for him to see you in any other way but the brat following him around. Yet here he was, looking at you almost 3 decades later. You were not that brat anymore.
He kept you safe in the factory. No lycan dared attack you, on the contrary, they’d protect you. The glances you’d steal of Karl gave you butterflies. “Was he always this pretty when working?” that thought made you blush and you quickly turned your gaze away. But not for long, for you could not stop looking at him. You felt so silly about this crush you developed for him.
You really couldn’t tell if he was feeling the same. Why would he? He didn’t even recognize you at first. But when you mentioned wanting to see the stars one night, the eagerness with which he took you on the roof made you question your doubts.
“I forgot how beautiful the stars are when they’re not blinded by the city lights” you said watching the sky.
“Yeah...the stars” he said looking at you.
No matter how much he tried, he couldn’t stop looking at you. When did you become so beautiful and funny and smart? He was glancing at you so much he ended up chocking on the cigarette smoke.
“Are you alright?” your eyes widened as you turned to him.
“Yeah yeah, don’t worry” he replied while hitting his chest, coughing some more.
You looked at him slightly worried, but ended up chuckling and smiling at him. He thought he was about to swallow his entire cigar when he noticed the look in your eyes. Why on earth was he feeling like this? You were just another person. Yeah yeah, the only person that was actually excited about his existence, but still. You were just a kid back then, kids are excited about anything. Back then your excitement didn’t mean anything. You were a kid, he allowed you to follow him around and made toys for you sometimes. That was all. He didn’t think much of it back then. He even found you extremely annoying at times. But now, you’re a fully capable adult. Why are you still excited about him? He didn’t want to put you through any sort of pain and this village had nothing to offer but that.
He knew it was best for you to leave, but he wanted you to stay. He was lost in his thoughts at this point, the one thing that brought him back was feeling you shiver.
“Are you cold?” he asked.
“A little, don’t worry about it”
When you looked at him, he was taking of his coat and handing it to you.
“Here, don’t freeze to death”
“But what about you?”
That made him go red. You really cared about him?
“J-just shut up and take it” he stuttered.
His jacket was smelling like oil and cologne, but it was very cozy and warm.
At this point you were just looking at each other. The moon was glowing and softly illuminating your face.
“Buttercup...I..I mean to ask you something” he said kinda shyly.
“What is it?” you replied.
“Look buttercup, I..I like you, why not? Um..could I..” he stopped and looked down, took a deep breath and looked back up at you “can I kiss you?”.
You thought he was never gonna ask. But now that he did, you felt your heart racing. So you just cupped his cheeks and kissed him. Very slowly at first, testing the waters. But as he held you by the back of your neck, the kiss deepened and you found yourselves pulling each other in as close as possible.
You had no idea what was gonna happen once Ethan reached the factory, but as you finally pulled away from the kiss and pressed your forehead against his, nothing really mattered anymore.

It was a damned day you have prepared yourself so much and in the end this asshole, this jackass has dumped you at this forsaken village. You hated him with your all heart as same as loving him the first time he said that he loved you, you were walking around the streets still shaken from this assholes' words holding your jacked tighter around you, you needed to get the hell out of this village. As you walked closer to the outskirts of the town you saw a rather huge and dark factory that was still working 'Why there's a damn huge factory in this small village, well whatever I need help!' you thought to yourself as you decided to walk in and have your head somewhere else but not with this idiot maybe the owner of this factory will be kind enough to help...big mistake-huge. You walked into it and looked around as you were greeted by the smell of oil, metal scraps, and something metallic a rather huge robot-like was stumbling around as if being broken, you stood like deer in headlights 'What the Hell was that thing?". "I need to get to the door as fast as possible!" you rushed to the factory door as carefully as possible not to make noise avoiding the metal scaps as you closing on the door a rather loud roar made you blood run cold "What the actual FUCK" you screeched adrenaline pumping in your blood as you ran even faster hearing the running behind you "I wanna kill this asshole for putting me through this bloody hell!" you reached the door running through it as you were panting and slammed it shut. You decided to walk inside fastening the locks as the banging at it was loud so were the growls. Walking inside as you decided to stay in one place was a rather dumb idea the factory inside was so huge and monstrous the roar of the machinery, the smell everything was so big that you gawked for a moment but shaking yourself from the trance-like state you cautiously walked from your standing place. The radio static was replaced with a rather deep and gruff voice as if the person was a smoker but it was a rather attractive voice you might say, 'Maybe it's the owner of the factory, how interesting' as you watched the machines turn their gears sweating oil and grease, you somehow were entertained you enjoyed everything connected with the machinery gasping and awing with each new thing you saw in your rather calm walk through the factory as the voice you heard before barking commands now sounded seductive and dangerous aimed at you "Well, well, well what do we have here, what a precious little thing has entered my factory to pay me a visit?!" upon dimming the lights, you gasped looking around frantically as you heard a deep laugh coming from the com you looked up at the siren and licked your lips not aware that there are cameras around the factory as Lord Heisenberg was enjoying your childish awe at this creations. "Who are you Sir?" you asked as sweet as possible, well because you were trespassing and you better be on the good side of this man there was a silent moment before the speaker came to life "Awww but where are my manners. Name's Heisenberg, Lord Heisenberg sweet cheeks!" You smiled and bowed you head, you didn't know he was a Lord "You have an amazing factory Lord Heisenberg it's truly unique!" you chirped out as he laughed through the com entertained by your naivety as you tilted your head the com came to life once more "You know sweet cheeks why not introducing myself in person that would be better I think!" you heard a click and the radio was silent. You stood in one place not moving looking around you as you heard walking on the metal platforms. As you stood he walked on the platform hammer in hand and you felt the buzz, the electricity turning around to face a platform you saw this man his dark glasses, hat, huge hammer and boy he was a sight to behold a true description of Owner of this factory you stared at him gawking making his smile widen in one moment you caught his eyes they were so green like a green emerald and just in one moment there was a flicker of gold you gasped as he smiled and winked at you making you blush and avert your gaze as he walked down ever so slowly. 'Oh boy he's so damn hot, damn look at him he's like damn craft god and his body, Woah Y/N hold the reins you still need help and cover from this thing outside!' you thought as you saw him getting closer leaving the hammer on the ground and tipping his hat towards you "What a nice sight to have beyond all this meat and scarps, so we finally meet!" he smirked, damn you were swooning over him already, like a dog in heat "But!" he paused looking at you up and down "You pumpkin haven't told me your name?" he winked as you blushed like a schoolgirl "My name is  Y/N!" he licked his lips "Such a beautiful name suiting a beautiful creature like you!". "Tell me little pumpkin what let you roll into my big scary factory at nighttime?" you sighed and decided to tell him everything about your ex, about the creatures and the robot that looked like a human, he listened closely considering his plan as he was a man, after all, that Bitch called his "sister" was taking all the maidens into her castle, he needed some fun and you just dropped in time but it was about to change. "Damn poor little one, as I can tell you everything about this village but I believe you'll be scared of me then, you'll judge me as many others did!" you looked at him sadly you didn't want to judge fast enough as you took a step closer to him "Please Lord Heisenberg tell me about it I promise I won't judge you! " he smiled as he was standing facing the wall, he would tell her everything even if after she ran away he wouldn't judge her as he began telling everything about being kidnapped, being tormented, being used as a toy by the Bitch Miranda, you listened every world never interrupting. When he was done he was ready to turn around and see you gone or run away screaming instead, you were sad as you took a step closer to him and said "I'm so sorry for what had happened to you Lord Heisenberg this is so unfair and heartless towards you, no one in the worlds deserves such faith as yours. I am truly sorry you never deserved to through this by yourself! " she smiled as Heisenberg was out of any comeback or anything to say. He exhaled the breath he didn't think he held in and on strange unknown emotion he stepped closer and swept you into his strong hands, you yelped quietly and hugged him back feeling his huge form caging you in the so needed hug after all these years of torment he felt a soul that cared for him! You were enjoying this hug so much his strong body and the heat it was radiating made you feel sleepy and dizzy, he smelled of tobacco,pleasant perfume and a bit of whiskey as you saw with a corner of your eye flying metal parts around you you gasped making him break the hug a bit concerned "Have I pressed you hard pumpkin?" he was panicking not to hurt you as gawked in awe at the flying metal parts earning a loud chuckle from him as he extended his arm his hammer snapped from the wall into it "That's not the only thing I could control!" he winked! He took you to hand as you told him about your love for machinery and building stuff, he has fallen for you that was it he wouldn't let that Bitch Miranda and anyone else lay a finger on you he walked to his room as you were like a little child enjoying everything you say he wanted to admit something he had in his heart for you...
