a things i really like from cdream's tory it's how one of the messages it send it's that, not matter how Bad a person might be they would never deserve abuse. Like cdream is a Bad person yeah but the abuse he suffered wasn't okay and he shouldn't have gone throught that. That his ending is seeing him a person it's really good bc the mentality of "Bad people are monsters who aren't human" it's dangerous and i like how the dsmp touched this topic, idk if it was the intention from the beggining but the fact this ended up being one of the themes it's so good
I mean I think it goes far further than that. I see it more so as highlighting that we are all just people. People who live in our one little world without thinking about what it’s like to be another person. That we all have our pov but that doesn’t make it the only pov or the “good” or “right” pov by default. That people are complicated and even the sociopaths, narcissists and sadists of the story are complex. They are still people, who have reasons and can be hurt and feel pain. The story isn’t about abuse, despite a lot of people taking that as a major thing, and it isn’t about deserve. I think it goes much deeper than that and is instead about highlighting that other people experience the same pain as you. That other people have thoughts, and opinions and motivations and reasons for why they do things and just because we don’t understand it, just because we can’t see it, just because we can’t see in their head, doesn’t mean it’s not there or that their intentions are always malicious. That just because other people hurt us doesn’t mean they were out to get us. That at the end of the day, we as individuals are not the center of the universe. That there are other people around us, who are just as human. And if we could just realize that and make efforts to understand them, hear them, see them then we could overcome so much conflict and suffering.
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” - Atticus Finch from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird
That is more so the message for the story, where we attend their streams as if viewing from within their body, within their head. Because this story is about showing us that we all are right from our point of views, but we should strive to take the time to consider what it’s like in someone else’s shoes. To see people as people, humans as fellow vulnerable, broken, and imperfect humans. It’s not about “Good people” and “Bad people,” it’s about highlighting that we are all just people, who deserve the same basic rights and respect. And that goes beyond the fact that no one deserves the abuse and cruelty they experienced, because it’s far more complex than just good and bad. It’s not just about Dream not deserving prison, it’s about realizing that Dream was multi dimensional this whole time.
[clip] Tommy: “That’s why you’re doing this, isn’t it?… You just want it to be simple.” *huffs* “Dream, I thought you were complicated. I thought—god I thought you were the villain, Dream. […] I thought, this whole time, you—you were the villain…”
It’s about realizing that Dream wasn’t the “villain,” “a monster,” “a Bad person,” like Tommy thought. No, he was just a deeply flawed person like the rest. A person with the same basic, simple human desires that everyone else has.
[clip] Tommy: “You just want it to be simple. You just want to be back with your friends. And that makes sense.”
He just didn’t want to be alone - he just wanted to be loved, just like Tommy did, just like we all do.
[clip] Tommy: “You just want friends. Well me too, man. I get that. I get that.”

Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster update tomorrow :)
In the mean time enjoy a little appetizer ;)
In all honesty, Technoblade didn’t remember the trip from the dirty back alley to the room where they found Dream. It was all just a blur of red and … voices, so many voices. They were screaming at him, demanding blood and brutality like kids asking for candies on Halloween night.
BLOOD
BLOOD
BLOOD
It was nothing new for his chat to get violent, the call for blood was like their second nature, but it was rare to hear them this outraged. The things they wanted to do to Quackity … It made putting a pickaxe through his teeth sound like a kids’ game.
DO LING CHI ON HIM WOOOOOOOO
BLOOD
MAKE HIM EAT GLASS AND SWALLOW IT
^
^
L
He winced at the shouts, the volume was high enough to make him unable to hear his own thoughts and it was bound to get worse the moment they actually spotted the target of their rage. When that happens, Techno isn’t even sure if he could control himself. He hoped so. He didn’t want to give in and lose control. He didn’t want his rival to see him like that, like a wild beast thirsty for blood. That's not something a traumatized guy needs to see at the moment, even Techno could tell that much. Chat, however, didn’t care.

Au where c!bbh is a god (saintsofgames) and dreamxd confronts him about falling in love with a mortal. Bad points out XD’s hypocrisy bc he visits a certain mortal’s dreams often. XD is offended and curses Bad to share hearts with Skeppy, removing his godhood
This, but also Sapnap is born from the sheer energy of a mortal and immortal being tethered together.
Thanks for the epic prompt this was sooooo fun to write!

No. 8: “I’ve got soul, but I’m not a soldier.”
Overcrowded ER | Outnumbered | “It’s all for nothing."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dream ran through his inventory in his head. Netherite armor – a spare set of Punz’s, one they’d gifted to him for Christmas after he got out –, axe sword bow shield, a couple healing potions, and there. Four ender pearls. If he was going to get out of here, his back literally up against the wall – or, more accurately, a sharp grass cliff in the middle of a forest –, that was how. But before he could even consider that, he had to make some breathing space, and the one way he’d do that was to start talking.
“Oh, what? You didn’t feel comfortable going after me yourself so you had to round up all your friends – and the people who aren’t your friends, too, I see you Ponk and Sam – for a big giant confrontation?” Dream taunted. He’d spotted the disquiet, the guilt, quickly flash across Sam’s face and Ponk’s little grimace, which meant he was doing something right. It wasn’t as if he wasn’t also surprised to find the two of them together here, given what Punz had told him. But, hey, things changed, and the more friction between the members of this little hunting party, the better.
Everyone else made sense, mostly. Sam and Quackity were to be expected, just the way Tommy and Sapnap were. It was never in question; they were the ones who wanted him dead or locked away the most. Dream had come to terms with that fact long ago. (He had had to; shock or denial or appeal to the good old times, to the childhood they shared, wouldn’t save his life, unlike getting over it and accepting it was this new truth, the new situation)
Dream was a little surprised that Bad and Ant weren’t here too, but maybe they were having another Egg relapse. He wouldn’t be surprised if they were. (He still found himself looking instinctively for his absent guards, the only ones who wouldn’t hurt him or at least wouldn’t try to. That’s why they were almost never there, after all. Maybe that was why they weren’t here this time; not because they were busy but because Sam or Quackity thought they had too weak a stomach or too soft a heart)
Puffy wasn’t a surprise either, even if it was a little disappointing. He’d thought she’d cared for way too long, and now he owed Punz so much money. He’d made that bet years ago, Prime damn it! (She’d left him years ago, too. She’d left him and never looked back and when he tried to confront her about it, when he tried to ask her what he’d done wrong, was answered with hatred and disgust. He knew now she didn’t want to see him, except if he was bleeding out)
Speaking of Punz, he already knew they wouldn’t be here. Last he heard from them (which was not very long ago), they’d been far far away, and he wanted it that way. He didn’t want them to get hurt or be in danger alongside him. He never had. (Selfishly, he wished that they were here, just so he had someone on his side here, someone he could rely on, even though he knew it was a horrible, horrible thing to wish for)
Niki and some of the new people (look, they were new and most of them joined when he was out of commission, how was he supposed to memorize their names?) were also there, but they were sticking to the back and Dream couldn’t get quite a good look at them. From what he could see, Niki was also half-turned away and typing on her communicator, so it didn’t look like she was really that interested in the confrontation going on and therefore not much of a threat.
Quackity shrugged. “Some people just like to be prepared, Dream. What’s the harm in that?”
“The harm comes when you can’t do anything without the help of your fucking lackeys,” Dream told him. “Like, what happened the last time you tried doing something yourself? Nothing, ‘cause you never did that.”
“Shut up, Dream,” Sapnap hissed, a furrow between his brows and murder reflected in his amber eyes.
“Or what? You’re kill me? I mean, you already made that pretty clear, like, a year ago, Sapnap,” Dream responded. “And I think the rest of your pals here,” he gestured at everyone around him, “already think that’s the game plan, Sap.”  Dream shifted slightly, affecting an expression of pure boredom, careful slipping one hand behind his back and into his hotbar. He just needed one minute of keeping his *cough* companions busy and not getting killed to get the hell out of here.
Just one moment and then–
For some reason, everyone started screaming, and no one was looking at Dream anymore, because it was pretty easy to make out the fucking giant floating withers in the sky descending upon them.
Well, fuck, Dream thought, and he split. He wasn’t sticking around for this shit, not with his life on the line.
***
“You just carry around wither skulls at all times?” Punz asked, looking over the forest with sharp eyes.
“Duh. I mean, it came in useful this time, it comes in useful a lot,” Technoblade responded. He leaned forward, watching everyone scatter. “How’d you even figure out where it was all going down?” he asked, eyes still glued to the scene in front of him.
“I was talking to Dream beforehand. He told me where he was,” they responded, lying just the littlest bit. Technoblade didn’t need to know about all the details. They’d likely already told him too much. “You?”
“Niki texted me. Good thing we were both in the area, right?” Techno joked. “We wouldn’t want our favorite war criminal to end up dead, would we?” Punz huffed a laugh. “Of course. That’d be horrible.” It truly would be, and their job was to make sure that’d never happen.

It's been a jarring restless year for Sapnap leaving him to fall into a pool of despair. He had so many questions as to why things went wrong and yet none of them had a definite answer until the innaviable hit, Dream escaped the Pandora vault; Sapnap would be lying if he said he didn’t feel fear settled deep within his gut. He spends every waking moment writing out a plan on how he was going to start his journey on finding Dream. Roaming multiple areas of the SMP land, dirt and sweat clinging onto his skin. His enchantment armor felt heavy on his body with each passing step. He knew his health, his mind and body were slowly deteriorating but he couldn't slow down. He has a kingdom to protect. He has people he wants to keep safe and most importantly, he made an oath. An oath he swore that if Dream ever escaped the prison, he would kill him and that's exactly what he was going to do.
Sapnap fulfills his oath, going on a journey to find the answers to why everything happened that unfaithful day and gets more than he bargains for.
(This fic would be slow updated but I wanted to post like a intro to a c!sapnap fic I'm working on😊)

Memories of Moments Once Shared
A series of cdnf kisses through Sapnap's eyes.
Slight spoilers for the s1 finale
The first time Sapnap sees Dream and George kiss he thinks he might've dreamed it. They'd all watched the sunset from a hill in a new world. He and Dream had been taking turns trying to explain to George what red and orange feel like, which had quickly turned into a contest to make George laugh the loudest. They'd gotten into a slight disagreement about who won which had led to a wrestling match-which Sapnap won for sure. By the time the sun slipped behind the horizon, Sapnap was dozing off and on.
He swears at one point he awoke just in time to see George kiss Dream under the moonlight. His eyes had closed again, and when the sun woke him in the morning he had mostly forgotten it had happened. Dream and George acted normal, well normal for them at least. The only clue Sapnap had was the blush across Dream's face throughout the day. Dream chalked it up to the heat of the sun, but George's subtle smirk said otherwise.
-
The second time Sapnap saw them kiss, George was soaking wet. They'd spent the day fishing in the pond, throwing back whatever they didn't want. George had stumbled into him as he was removing an enchanted book, the first one he'd pulled, off the end of his rod. The line had snapped causing the hook and the book to go sinking to the bottom of the lake. And George, the utter asshole, had the audacity to laugh about it.
The first shove had been genuine. Anger and frustration had bubbled over, and his hands had pushed against George's shoulder. But it just caused George to laugh more, taking an overdramamtic step backwards. He had called out to Dream like a damsel in distress and stuck his tongue out at Sapnap. Dream had thrown his hands up in surrender and George, within a split second, was tackling Sapnap to the ground. As the fight went on, it had gotten more dramatic. Until George took a stumbling step backwards, pretending he had been stabbed, and fell into the pond before Dream or Sapnap could catch him.
Dream had scooped him up almost immediately, had practically launched himself over the side of the fishing dock. George came up coughing and sputtering, gasping for air. He had draped himself across Dream's chest demanding mouth-to-mouth. And Dream had shut him up with a kiss.
After the moment had passed, George enacted revenge, sending Sapnap straight into the pond. Needless to say, Sapnap did not get the same mouth-to-mouth treatment.
-
The next few times Sapnap had seen them kiss, it was casual. Little kisses here and there. Checks, noses, foreheads, one tender moment when Dream scraped his knee. They were cute and sweet. Until the day Sapnap will remember infamously for the rest of his life.
He had been sent out to find a couple more sheep for their sheep farm to replenish a few that had an unfortunate run-in with a wolf pack. He had expected not to be back until dinner, so he had told Dream and George he'd be out all day. But by midday, he had a small herd following him to a more secure sheep farm.
He, without a care in the world, made his way back to the community house, hoping to find Dream and George in the middle of making lunch. What he had gotten made him completely forget about his lunch and, instead, go back to the sheep farm in the hopes of clearing the scene of them in a very intimate position from his brain. He very politely ignored the suspicious bruises and bluntly reminded them that the each had their own rooms with locks, just in case they had forgotten.
-
The next few months had been filled with bliss, with a few occasional hiccups of course. Sapnap had witness many of Dream and George's arguments before, and this one hadn't been much different. Dream and George would be angry with each other, both would yell and only tell the other half of what was wrong, they'd talk in circles, Sapnap would offer help, they'd both snap at him, they'd storm off, and then by morning all would be good again.
Except this time had been their first argument after the whole "we kiss each other now" announcement. And instead of both of them storming out, it had just been Dream who left. Dream had left before, whether it was arguments or embarrassment or if he just needed to clear his head, Dream would leave, but he'd always come back. Sapnap knew that, George knew that. But this was a first, and George was standing staring at the door with his hands pulled close to his chest.
It couldn't have been more than a few moments later that Dream had barreled back in, grabbed George by the shoulders, kissed him, then spun around on his heels and went right back out the door. George had stood still for a second longer, before huffing a small laugh and plopping himself down on the couch. By morning, Sapnap could hear two sets of giggles behind George's locked door.
-
The last time Sapnap sees Dream and George kiss its after George is crowned king. Dream had lowered the crown on George's head, and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before stepping back. And Sapnap had realized how long it's been since they've kissed. Or at least, since they've kissed in front of people.
Later he sees them, in a small corner room in the castle. George has Dream's face cradles in his hands, Dream's mask lays face down on the floor. George pulls Dream into a kiss, much like the first one Sapnap saw them share. Except this time Dream pulls away with a frown and small shake of his head, before leaning down and securing his mask back over his face. Sapnap felt something in the world shift, and then it all goes to shit.
-
It's been over a year since Sapnap has seen Dream and George in the same room, longer since he's seen them kiss.
He has a dream.
He's holding Quackity in his arms, they're happy. But Quackity turns cold, pulling away from him. Quackity walks a few steps away, but turns around and runs at him. When he crashes into Sapnap, he shifts. Instead of a smiling Quackity, a terrified Karl trembles in his arms. Sapnap trys to calm him down, but his hands go right through him. Karl's eyes glance around frantically, like he can't see Sapnap at all, before he disappears completely.
Sapnap spins around and finds himself in the community house, the way it was in the beginning, Dream and George come tumbling down the stairs hand in hand. They run out the door and Sapnap takes a step to follow them. They're all at the hill and it's nighttime again. Sapnap looks over his shoulder, Dream and George are kissing, and he smiles. He looks down and his hands are bloody, his sword through Dream's back. George's eyes are closed, Sapnap's sword pierced through Dream's stomach and into George's. Sapnap jerks back.
-
Sapnap wakes with a gasp. Sirens blare around him, and he rushes outside. There's a flash, then ringing, then nothing.

The second work in the Quixotic Quartet
Excerpt: He drags himself to a kingdom he has since been deemed unwelcome in. But he’s never been one to adhere to the wishes of others. Gone is the young man, so eager to please and to do right. Dream/George || Dream & George || Post-Dethronement, Angst & Fluff, Fix-It of Sorts, Protective George, Soft Dream & George, DNF Being DNF (Derogatory) & DNF Being DNF (Complimentary), Gentle Bullying, George’s Love Is Stored In His Desire To Crush Dream’s Enemies, Sapnap Is Here (In Spirit), Oops! I Panacea’d :(
8k || 1/2 || pt. III of unlucky ones || it’s so easy from above...
Summary: George has managed to achieve the impossible: with a king’s conviction and a tender heart, he brought Dream home and then, the morning after, convinced Dream to stay.
Even while he greedily hoards Dream’s love, he cannot forget that there is a world outside, too. One which would try to take Dream from him again. And it will come calling sooner than he wants.
But George does not need a crown or a throne to be a king. In pursuit of keeping Dream at his side, he is willing to do whatever he must and remind the server that he is the true threat.
Dream has always, since that very first moment, looked at him as if no one else in all the realms existed. As if George was indeed everything that should be worshiped: the sun, the moon, the stars, the world, an embodiment of the universe itself made of flesh and blood and yet divine.
As if George is Dream’s heart given life in a separate body only so that he might better hold it in two devout, careful hands.

Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster - new chapter coming soon :)
What is it that I see? Dream in distress? Impossible!
Everything after that was a bit of a blur. All he could focus on was Patches and his own ragged breathing. Karl had left him, and Sapnap was gone too. He was all alone again. Left with Puffy, who’d likely kill him if he looked at Tommy the wrong way, and Tommy, who probably wanted nothing more than to kill him or put him back in prison. But even they were trying to leave. Puffy was trying to drag Tommy out of the room while the teen was frozen in place … soon he’d be alone with Quackity. Again. The realization filled him with an unbearable dread and he felt himself slip all over again. He didn’t hold it against his friends, or he tried not to. He really did! He couldn’t expect them to just drop everything for him. They had their own feelings and problems and this had to be so hard for them and he should be a better friend and not feel like this but- but why did they leave him here with him!? They promised! They promised that’d never happen again …

Her Ghost
Role-swapped Fem C!DNF: a continuation of this AU / a brief look into the effect George's betrayal has on Dream.
(Written for day two of Dreblr Spooky Week, based on the prompt "Echoes.")
She always comes in the night.
Something about the dark makes it easier for shapes to form in Dream’s eyes, for the real to swirl into the unreal. Her mind is untethered in the day, sunlight burning a headache into her temples, Sapnap’s worry fluttering over her like the tickle of wings against the snow when a hawk snatches up a rabbit. But at night—those long, sleepless nights—her exhaustion cements into insanity and the specters take shape.
She knows they are not real. She knows she is not real. Merely a hallucination. And yet, her heart aches for the figure to take on shape, take on weight and warmth, become something solid Dream can touch.
Become someone real Dream can love.
Tonight is no different. The sheets are too warm, tossed about Dream in her restlessness, tied in knots at the foot of the bed. A thin nightgown sticks to her sweating skin, lace curls around her thighs. Her hair, matted in the back, an orange cloud of yarn pressed into the pillow.
And the tapestry stares at her. Sapnap wants her to throw it away, says it’s not good for her, to sleep with her image at the end of her bed. But it is all Dream has left of the castle, of the days she wore the crown.
It is all the queen has left of her knight—save, of course, for the specters.
The embroidered knight blinks at her. The silver of her armor, shining threads pulled into tight angles, hands resting on a blue-tinged sword. Her helmet, resting on a stone in the foreground. A field of sunflowers behind her.
That was George’s idea. Subtle symbolism. Now, the yellow heads swirl, bobbing like froth on the waves. The white pattern of clouds in the sky above them, thick strands of wool woven into the cyan thread, snakes back and forth, hypnotizing. And the knight tilts her head, brown hair kissing her sharp chin.
“I’ve missed you, Dream,” she says.
“No. You’re not real.” Dream hides her face, draws her legs up, covering her stomach.
“I am real,” the knight says. She steps out of the tapestry, onto the wooden floor of Dream’s new bedroom. The curtains billow in a breeze that shouldn’t be there. It’s too cold in Kinoko Kingdom to sleep with the window open this time of year.
Dream parts her hands, sees the specter push the fabric aside, the curtains painting her body in new clothes. Armor is exchanged for a short, thin dress, the sweet, small curves of her swaying as he walks towards the bed, her body sensual, smooth, like the bulb of a tulip bud before it opens.
“I’m here, Dream. I’m always here. In you.” George reaches out and touches her. It’s a phantom feeling, a cold on her skin, pushing her legs away from her stomach, unraveling her.
“You’re not,” Dream tells her. The cold hand is on her cheek, touch ghostly. “You’re far away. You’re gone. You left me.”
“How could I leave, when I’m always a part of you?” George leans down to kiss her. Dream shudders, breathing the specter in. Her lungs burn from the cold, her lips ache for warmth. George folds into her, becomes one with her, melts the chill into her bones.
Dream shivers and cries out. There are tears on her cheeks and ice in her core. Her heart feels weak, like a thin tent blowing in the wind, stakes about to fail, fabric about to billow away and leave its inhabitants exposed to the blistering cold.
Her head is pounding. She cannot remember how many days, how many weeks, how many months it has been since George betrayed her. All she knows is she cannot sleep with her gone.
Nights are not for sleeping anymore. They are for ghosts. For echoes. For yearning, unyielded.
Sapnap stops George in the hall with a tight hand on her wrist. George whirls around, her hair freshly cut, the edge sharp where it flares around her cheekbones.
“Why do you come?” Sapnap asks. “You’re torturing her.”
“It’s none of your business.” George wrenches her hand free.
“Yes it fucking is,” Sapnap growls. “You left her in my care. Kicking you the fuck out is taking care of her.”
“Oh, she doesn’t seem very well taken care of—”
A crack reverberates through the hall. George’s cheek burns and so does Sapnap’s palm, but neither moves to acknowledge it. George didn’t even turn her head.
“She’s still having visions. She can’t tell the difference between them and you,” Sapnap says. “And she can’t sleep. She never fucking sleeps.”
George is silent. If she regrets what she’s done, the state she’s put Dream in, she never says, but Sapnap knows. She knows her friend is too stubborn to admit the mistake she’s made. And worse, she knows Dream is too helplessly in love to ever blame her.
“I have to go,” George says. “We’re getting somewhere, with the egg. I think we have a way to kill it.”
Sapnap nods. It’s good news. This torture will only go on so much longer.
“This will be my last visit, until it’s over, I think.” George puts her hand on Sapnap’s shoulder, and her fingers are cold as ice. “Keep her safe, until I return.”
“I will,” Sapnap agrees through gritted teeth. “I promised.”

No. 9: “Learning everything ain’t what it seems, that’s the thing about these days.”
Polaroid | Mistaken Identity | “You’re a liar.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What are you doing here?” Sapnap hissed, pointing his sword at Dream. He was tired and stressed and he wasn’t even sure how Dream got in here and really did not want to have to deal with him right now. He didn’t want to deal with Dream’s mind games or threats. (He didn’t want to have to try to kill him, didn’t want to have to fulfill his promise)
“What, I’m not allowed to visit an old friend anymore?” Dream asked, pouting a little. Sapnap ignored the little shock of surprise at seeing him without his mask on. He didn’t understand why the villain wouldn’t be wearing it now.
(Sapnap had almost forgotten what Dream’s face looked like, pale and freckled and scarred – Sapnap didn’t think he always had so many scars, but he wasn’t going to question it right now. He had almost forgotten how large Dream’s eyes were, wide and childish and mischievous. He had almost forgotten how vibrant they were, bright bright, radioactive, unnatural green)
“No, you’re not! We’re not even friends anymore,” Sapnap protested. (Sapnap wasn’t sure if they were ever friends, because was Dream always like this? Had he just been lying the whole time? Was any of it real? And worse…what if Dream never changed, and they were all wrong?) “Not after you, like, tried to kill everyone–”
“Oh, when did I do that? Sure, my memory’s a biiiiit faulty, but I think I would remember something like that.” Dream grinned, batting his eyelashes, leaning languidly against the wall. “Well? Care to remind me?”
“You started like five wars, dude!” Sapnap ran a hand through his hair. “And you blew L’Manburg three times, and you tried to steal everyone’s stuff to control them–”
“But when did I try to kill everyone? Like, sure, I did that stuff, but half the server did too, and, hell, Technoblade blew up L’Manburg too! I was mostly just helping there, and I don’t see you going after him, do I?” Dream urged playfully.
“People did go after Technoblade, Dream,” Sapnap argued. “They tried to kill him.”
“Blah blah butcher army, blah blah Technoblade’s execution, yeah, I know.” Dream rolled his eyes. “But that was it. No one went after him after that, even though he went off and destroyed more stuff after that. Well, excluding the little part where he got locked in Pandora with me.”
What? Sapnap didn’t think he ever was told about that part. He hadn’t been keeping up a lot with the rest of the server, especially not when it concerned the Blade.
Then again, Dream could just be lying to try to mess with him.
Dream took one look at his face and laughed. “Wait, you didn’t know about that? I thought everyone did!” He chuckled. “I’d imagine that Quackity would go bragging to you about it,” he commented slyly, one finger raised to frame his face.
“What does Quackity have to do with this?” Sapnap asked. He didn’t want to talk about Quackity right now. He didn’t ever want to talk about Quackity with Dream. His ex-lover was too much of a sore spot for him.
“We were talking about Technoblade? And people going after him? Did you expect me to not bring up Quackity? I mean, that’s like, fucking impossible,” Dream remarked, one eyebrow raised. “And like, more specifically, Quackity’s the one to come up with the plan to lock Techno up, so then we gotta talk about him.”
“Whatever,” Sapnap muttered, rubbing his face. He certainly hadn’t missed this. “Let’s just stop talking about Quackity." He really didn't want to deal with this right now. "Why the hell are you here? How did you even find this place?”
“Just wanted to swing by, y’know, check how you’re doing?” Dream pushed himself up off the wall. “And it’s not hard to find. Doesn’t even make it on the top five of secret places on this server. Too many builds,” he sniffed.
“I don’t know if you know this, but people need places to live, Dream,” Sapnap snarled.
Dream sighed dramatically. “I swear, if that’s another homeless joke–”
“You think we’re joking here?!” Sapnap exclaimed. “You’re just lucky that I haven’t stabbed you yet, Dream, and I really should of. This isn’t a game!” Sapnap shut his mouth, vibrating with rage, and suddenly realized that his hair was on fire again. Fuck. He needed to calm down.
“Well, that’s great,” Dream commented, completely unbothered, casual as all hell. “Just wonderful, really. Did you know your fiance was torturing me?”
“What?” Sapnap hissed. He needed a minute, even though Dream would absolutely not give him one. He couldn’t deal with this right now, when he could feel the fire building up inside his chest and tried to push it down. He’d already burst into flame once during this conversation, and he didn’t want to repeat that.
“Yep!” Dream responded brightly, but Sapnap could see something cold and calculating deep within his eyes. “Quackity’s a real piece of work, isn’t he?”
“Quackity wouldn’t do that,” Sapnap stated. He wouldn’t. Sure, Quackity had some flaws, and they weren’t…together anymore, or even talking at all, really, but Sapnap was sure he wouldn’t do that.
“He did! He did, Sap!” Dream insisted. Sapnap tried to ignore how his entire demeanor changed, how frantic (desperate) he seemed. It was just an act, just another way to try to deceive him and get him on his side. Sapnap wasn’t going to fall for it.“You’re lying,” Sapnap told him. Dream had to be lying. Quackity wouldn’t do that. He knew that Dream was lying. Dream always lied. That was what he did. “You’re a liar, Dream. He would never do that.”

A Ticklish Promise (Part 1)
This is part 1 of a 2-part fic! This part does not contain tickling (there’s a little but mostly exposition) The second part will be all tickling (I will link it here when I post it)
Warnings: angst, some dialogue like “do it kill him”, mentions of prison Dream, swearing
Enjoy!
~~~~~
Sapnap stared daggers at the bound sleeping form in front of him. How did this even happen? Am I fucking dreaming? He thought to himself as his thoughts barreled through his brain faster than he could comprehend.
It was supposed to be a normal day. He would go to prime path to visit a few people, get some building materials and ingredients for dinner, then head back to Kinoko Kingdom to work on some houses and cook for him and Karl and George (if the Brit even decided to wake up for food.) Yet here Sapnap was, in the middle of a forest with a sleeping Dream tied up at his feet.
He was confused, concerned, sad and angry. Why was he here? Why wasn’t he resting hidden in a cave or high up in the branches of the dark oak tree he’d found him slumped over against the trunk of? He looked so malnourished and frail, nothing like the man he once thought would be his friend forever.
Dream had escaped prison nearly a week ago and most of the server was still feverishly searching for him. The one day Sapnap took for himself to work on his kingdom, the one day he wasn’t meant to be looking for the dirty blonde man, he falls directly in his lap.
Sapnap’s own words from months ago replayed in his head, louder than the others that screamed and filled his mind with cacophony: “I'll kill you Dream. If you break out of prison, Tommy won't be the one to take your last life. I will. Remember that.”
The blaze hybrid summoned the enchanted axe— the axe that once belonged to a friend, that snuffed out countless lives, that Sapnap kept with him to prevent Dream from obtaining it— and raised it above his head.
Just one swing and it’ll all be over. All the pain and suffering he caused will never happen again. You can save everyone, the ravenhead repeated. He had to do it. He promised Tommy he’d protect him. Do it now, kill him!
Weakly Sapnap dropped the axe to the ground and collapsed on his knees, his shoulders shaking in quiet sobs he heaved into his hands. He couldn’t do it, he just couldn’t. Dream was his brother, his best friend since day one— no matter how monstrous his actions he couldn’t bear to kill him.
After a few minutes of crying his breathing slowed into the occasional hiccup and he wiped his tears. Even if Sapnap couldn’t kill Dream, he couldn’t leave his actions unpunished. With his thoughts now more cohesive, he began to form an idea. A childish yet equally devious idea.
~~~
Dream woke with a shout from a firm prod to his chest, eyes wide and panicky yet unfocused from his sudden return to consciousness.
“Woah there, easy Dream,” a familiar voice hushed.
The ex-prisoner blinked rapidly to regain coherency, his wild green eyes finally focusing on the black haired blaze hybrid who knelt over him concerned.
“N-no, no—!” Dream exclaimed, bucking like an angry horse as he slowly came to the realization he was bound by his ankles and wrists by what felt like strong rope.
“Dream calm down, you’ll hurt yourself,” Sapnap said with an edge of worry to his words. “Relax, I’m not here to hurt you.”
“Let me go! Let me go!! I'm not going back!” The blonde continued to panic more and more. “Don’t hurt me!”
“Dream! Listen!” The ravenette raised his voice the smallest bit, scaring the bucking man into silence. He shivered in fear, looking like a wounded animal.
“There you go. Sorry I had to raise my voice. I'm not gonna hurt you Dream, but you’ll hurt yourself if you keep thrashing like that,” Sapnap spoke calmly.
“Y-you—“ Dream swallowed hard “You’re not?”
“No, no I'm not Dream. I'm just trying to check if you have any injuries on you. Your hands looked pretty cut up, I already cleaned and bandaged them while you were sleeping.”
“How l-long have I been out? And why am I tied—“the ex-prisoner trailed off, utterly shocked at how gentle Sapnap was being with him.
“You’re tied up cuz I knew you’d panic when you woke up and tried to run away,” Sapnap explained softly. “I don’t know how long you were asleep for, I found you under a dark oak tree over an hour ago.”
Dream mentally scolded himself for allowing himself to fall asleep while he rested out in the open. Before he could ask any other questions Sapnap spoke again “Do you have any other wounds anywhere I can treat for you?”
“M-my ankle hurts,” Dream said hesitantly. “I tripped on a rock or a branch a few days ago and it still hurts pretty bad.”
The blaze hybrid nodded and moved to Dream’s bound ankles. “I’m gonna untie your legs. Please don’t kick me or anything.” He said before fiddling with the knot. The thought had crossed the mask-wearing man’s mind, but he decided against it when he was called out.
“Left or right?”
“L-Left.”
Warm calloused hands examined Dream’s injured foot, he winced when they pressed into certain spots and he muffled a whimper when Sapnap experimentally tried to flex it.
“Looks sprained. I’m gonna wrap it so you can’t hurt it more.” Sapnap stated before reaching for a roll of gauze and wrapping Dream’s ankle carefully. “How’s that feel? Not too tight?”
Dream shook his head. “It’s good. Thank you,” he muttered.
“Anything else?”
“No, that’s the worst of it. Thank you.”
With a hum Sapnap scooted back up to be closer to Dream’s head, burnt orange eyes staring into green silently.
“Why are you doing this?” Dream asked.
“Doing what?”
“Helping me. I thought you said you’d kill me if I escaped the vault.”
Sapnap sighed and leaned back on his hands. “I couldn’t do it. No matter how sick and twisted your actions were, I couldn’t kill someone I trusted like a brother for so long.”
Dream didn’t answer for a moment, the words processing in his brain. “You’re not gonna let me go,” he stated.
“No, I can’t do that.”
“I don’t want to go back there Sapnap,” Dream rambled, his eyes flashing with growing anxiety again. “Sam and Quackity tortured me. I can’t go back, I can’t.”
“Relax, I’m not taking you back,” Sapnap hummed. “I’ll probably bring you back to Kinoko with me until I figure out what to do with you.”
“You’re… taking me to Kinoko? But I—“
“I know what you said. I’m still not sure if it’s the best option, but I don’t have much of a choice,” Sapnap interrupted, his jaw clenching slightly. “However, I’m not dumb enough to let you just waltz in there and do whatever you want.”
Dream stared silently into Sapnap’s fiery eyes, waiting for the hybrid to continue. “You’re gonna be kept in a cell. It’s not nearly as secure as pandora’s vault, so I know it wouldn’t be hard for you to escape if you tried. Which is why I have to give you….. incentive, to stay put.”
“Incentive…?” Dream repeated skeptically.
Sapnap smirked devilishly and placed a hand on Dream’s stomach. He grabbed the hem of his ratty hoodie and dragged it teasingly until it lay bunched against his sternum. “You remember back in the early days when it was just you, me and George wasting away our afternoons in the sun?”
Dream nodded, nervous at his new vulnerability. The air felt cool on his bare skin and his tummy quivered at the unfamiliar change.
“And you remember how George and I would tackle you to the ground and hold you down while we tickled you silly?” Sapnap was grinning now, lazily dragging his fingers over the blonde’s exposed belly. Just this simple action sent sparks of tickly electricity through Dream, his freckles cheeks flushing a warm pink and the corners of his mouth quirking up in a shaky smile.
Dream knew he was sensitive but he hadn’t felt a touch this soft in a long time. It seemed prison had made him more sensitive and probably touch starved. He resisted the giggles bubbling up his throat already.
“You loved it when we did that…. You loved it when we tickled you to tears….” Sapnap reminisced, fluttering his fingers a little as he continued. “I even remember your worst spot I think…”
Dream shook his head a little as his smile widened enough to show his teeth. “N-no, Sahapnap— y-you can’t—“
“If I recall, it was right here~” Sapnap’s devious fingers focused on Dream’s belly button, tracing circles around it teasingly. The blonde man giggled out loud at this, scrunching his face and wiggling his torso a little.
“Nohoho, yohohou cahahan’t behe s-seheherious Sahahapnap—“ Dream snickered and squirmed. “D-Dohohon’t t-t—“
“Naww~ still can’t say the word baby~?” Sapnap cooed, drawing louder giggles from the bound man below him. Dream’s legs started to kick a little so Sapnap tossed a leg over Dream and settled on his upper thighs.
“Nononono Sahahahap gehehehet ohohoff—“ Dream giggled frantically as he became even more immobilized, slowly realizing that the way his arms were bound behind his back left him utterly defenseless as well as arched his sensitive belly toward the tickles.
“I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do,” Sapnap started, drumming his fingers around Dream’s too-ticklish belly button. “I’m going to absolutely torment your little ticklish belly button as a reminder to be a good ticklish boy when I take you to Kinoko. Understand~?”
