PABU'S FESTIVAL OF LOVE 2025

Info, Rules, and F.A.Q.

Tomorrow, I'll send the first batch (no pun intended) of prompts to those signed up (join here!). This is how I picked them.

In one word: randomly. I made several lists (with over 70 prompts in total), divided by types and ratings, and put them in a picker wheels. I left everything to chance. Specific lists aren't that long (about 6 prompts each).

It means that two (or more) people could get one repeated prompt. But like most of you selected a unique combination of prompt types, nobody got both prompts the same. And it wouldn't matter if you did; y'know, the "Two Cakes!" scenario.

Once received, you have a month to work on the prompt(s), and will be due on February 14th, 2025.

When uploading your content to your Tumblr blog, be sure to mention this blog and add the event hashtags: #pabu's festival of love 2025 and/or #PFoL 2025.

Any relationship is acceptable (platonic or romantic) among the Bad Batch, as well as other clones. Of course, original characters and readers are acceptable.

PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING (both by mentioning the blog and putting on the necessary tags, especially concerning NSFW). That'll ensure that your post will be reblogged on this blog.

I'll do my best to reblogged everyone's posts, but if I miss yours, please let me know. Just give me a few hours before you panic 😆

If you want, you can also add your work to the Ao3 Collection (closed at the moment, but I'll open it in due time). Use the same event Tumblr tags when posting to the archive. When adding the tags, it might appear tbb-appreciation-week's Pabu's Festival of Love 2025 (Star Wars) on the dropdown. That's the canonical tag for the event. You can click on it, but it's way too long and complicated for anyone to remember, so don't worry about it. By me, being connected to high places, I'll make sure that however you tag it as, it'll be attached to the right place.

If you are currently working on this fic/art with Valentine's Day in mind, the answer is yes. In the case of using a work retroactively (meaning: already published and complete), then please, don’t.

Where can I post my work?

Post where and however you want. You don’t have to cross-post it to Tumblr. Just keep in mind, if it’s not on Tumblr, I won't be able to add it to the blog archive. You can post a just link to anywhere else you've posted if you don't want to put the entire work in your blog.

Do I have to finish a fic I started? Can I post a work in progress?

Yes, you can post WIPs. And you’re not obligated to finish it. It'd make me happy that this event prompt you to create something longer. Let's appreciate the Bad Batch all year around!

Is co-creating allowed?

Yes, absolutely! Encouraged, even. Not just the usual writer-artist or co-writing collaborations, also any kind of medium combos: fic-podfic, fic-playlist, art-art, etc.

Is there a min/max limit on word count?

None. If you want to write a 100-word drabble or a 50k fic or anything in between, it's all up to you. You're the only one who knows how much time you can dedicate to it and how high/low your level of inspiration/energy is. You can even write a snippet for a fic you'll write later when you have the time/energy. Remember that this is lay-back-type of an event. Do as little or much as you want/can.

How do I tag triggers?

Just tag the word/phrase, e.g., blood; main character death. (DO NOT add "tw" either at the beginning or at the end. That makes it harder for readers to block the right tags). Here it's the list of the most common warning tags you should use when appropriate.

Also, it would be prudent to add warnings in the post's body, giving the readers another layer of protection before they do the actual reading.

Can we @ you?

Yes, please DO! It's the safest way for me not to miss your posts. I'll also be following the #pabu's festival of love 2025 and #PFoL 2025 tags, just for good measure.

What are the forbidden topics for our writing?

I plan to do a more complete list once I get time but this will be pinned until I get a more thorough list up. Please bear with me as this account is still under renovation. About Mun: I am 30+ years old. I've been roleplaying for about 15+ years, Vincent being my first and longest ongoing muse. People call me Phantom, Phantomyre, or Vinny (close friends). Yes, I've played all of Rebirth and am eagerly awaiting part 3. I am a Tumblr RPer from the early 2000s, took about a 10 year hiatus, and now I'm trying to feel my way around again. RULES Please understand this is a multipurpose blog. Not just a roleplay blog. I will post art (mostly my own unless stated otherwise), FF7 discussions and lore/theories, FF7 news and updates (anything Vincent Valentine related), and of course roleplay. I'm currently creating a tagging system so if you can choose what you do or don't want to see.

Mun is not the muse. I think we should all understand this. Vincent can be an asshole, cold, and distant, but that doesn't mean that I am. I can be blunt, but I mean well and am quite friendly/open to everyone. I value communication very much, so I highly encourage it.

I am open to OCs and any fandom outside of Final Fantasy 7. Please have an 'About' page if you have an OC.

Do not reblog any of my RP blogs if you are not the one the roleplay is for. This is between me and my RP partner only.

I am here for roleplay, presenting lore bits and discussions for FF7, and posting art. I'm a very private person and will avoid engaging in anything outside of what I just indicated above.

No god-modding or powerplay. Every character has a flaw or weakness. If you have a muse that is ultra powerful, be mindful to allow my character to react or have an option for escape. No one likes to be god-modded so let's keep it fun for both of us.

I'm perfectly fine with reminders, within reason. For Asks, if I do not reply within 7 days, feel free to ping me. For extensive roleplays, I do try to reply within 1-2 weeks timeframe. But if you don't see a reply within that time frame, please feel free to send me a reminder. This might change depending on my work-life balance as I have a very fluctuating lifestyle. Some days I will dedicate to art or work even though I'm online, so just bear that in mind.

I will wait up to 1 month for a roleplay reply. If I do not hear back from you within that time period, and I do not see any update that you'll be out for a duration of time, I will very likely drop the RP and soft-block as this tells me you are not interested to interact, and I do not want to be a number on your follower count. All I ask is that you communicate with me. I am more than happy to accommodate as I know we all have lives outside of RP. This is just what helps me stay organized so I can channel my energy and time appropriately while I'm here.

If we are mutuals, I expect us to roleplay together. If I follow you first, I will message you first. I expect the same from you if you follow me first. If I send you asks, try to interact with you, and you never reply to them, I will very likely soft-block and move on.

Please keep me out of targeted drama. I have had to call out art-theft from time to time, but it is not something I enjoy or want to do. I am an artist, and I will look out for my fellow ff7 artists. However, I will not participate in any sort of drama, call-outs, etc outside of what I mentioned. I'd rather keep this blog informative, fun, and entertaining (in a good way).

Do not interact with me if you are younger than 20. Please have your age in your bio. Not only do I have NSFW content, but I am also over 30 years of age. I prefer to interact with someone in the same wave-length as me. Nothing against those younger than 20, but I find that I cannot vibe with someone many years younger than me when it comes to the type of Roleplay that I do and what I'm looking for in a RP partner.

Please do not dismember, disembowel, or decapitate Vincent just because he's immortal. Yes, I've had this happen one too many times during my RP career. This is a form of god-modding and will not be tolerated which may result in a block.

All muse interactions are kept exclusive to their own verse. I will not crossover roleplays. What happens with one muse does not affect another.

SHIPPING + NSFW and DARK CONTENT I will not ship Vincent with minors or animals. I will interact with muses who are minors, but I will NOT ship with them, smut with them, nor will I tolerate anything that promotes pedophilia.

I am open to ship with pretty much any muse, fandom, OC, etc. HOWEVER-- understand that chemistry has to be established first. I will also do toxic ships. Unless your muse is Lucrecia, please do not assume or force a ship. The one main party FF7 character I refuse to ship with is Yuffie. I don't care if she's in the DoC timeline. I just don't enjoy that pairing. I'll happily RP with Yuffie as a muse, but do not expect any romance. In my eyes and in Vincent's eyes, she's a child. That being said, I am SHIP AND SMUT TRASH.

I will multiship, and I don't mind shipping with multiples of the same character as they are all unique. However, the one character that I will exclusively single-ship with is Cloud. I have a close friend who plays Cloud and his Cloud is the only Cloud my Vincent will ship with. I apologize to anyone playing Cloud and wanting to ship with Vincent. I'm just not comfortable doing so and I'm happy with the current Cloud I have. That doesn't mean I won't roleplay with other Clouds, however. I'm more than happy to RP with other Cloud muses, so long as it's not with the intent to ship.

This blog will contain explicit NSFW content. I'm not shy with my writing. I can and will be very detailed. If this bothers you but you still want to smut, please communicate with me or have it written in your rules page. I also don't mind doing fade to black if that's your preference.

Dark themes will abound. Vincent is a very dark character with a disturbing past. Things that you can expect would be topics that include (either explicit or implicit) violence, blood, gore, death, human experimentation, genocide, rape/sexual assault, body/medical horror, suicide, emotional manipulation, trauma, torture, etc. I will do my best to add trigger tags but I am human and will sometimes forget. However, I will always list NSFW as a tag and will put my reply under 'read more' as I understand not everyone is okay seeing that sort of thing.

I'm open to a wide range of kinks. If you really have a thirst for a particular kind of kink and would like to roleplay it, feel free to ask me and communicate what you would like or want to avoid. I want to make sure both parties are having fun and are comfortable with what's being written.

Kinks that I will NOT do include bestiality, pedophilia, wound-fucking, extreme torture (Medieval torture machines for example), gore, vore, vomit, toilet-play, incest. Will likely add to this. If I mentioned a new fetish you never heard of, I'm deeply sorry you had to read that.

He fell in love with Lucrecia Crescent, a scientist working on the project, but their relationship was complicated by her ties to Professor Hojo, whom she eventually married. Vincent's father had been killed in a scientific experiment lab where an accident broke out, lead by Lucrecia. Feeling that Vincent would never forgive her for killing his father, she denied Vincent's affections and chose Hojo instead. Nevertheless, Vincent never blamed her.

Hojo and Lucrecia ended up having a son named Sephiroth. This child was created for the sole purpose of scientific research, to which Vincent protested against. When Vincent objected to the unethical experiments, Hojo shot him and used his body for experimentation. Vincent was infused with four monsters including Chaos, a powerful entity connected to the Planet, and given immortality through the Protomateria. After awakening and discovering what had happened, he retreated to a coffin in the Shinra Mansion basement, overwhelmed with guilt over failing to protect Lucrecia and stop Hojo’s work. His body had stopped aging, and not being able to die, Vincent decided to entomb himself for the next 20+ years. When Vincent is discovered many years later by a group of people trying to save the planet, Vincent's demeanor had changed from that of a caring tender-hearted young man to one of callousness, darkness, and self-abasement. He joins the party for the sole purpose of meeting his arc nemesis, Hojo, to exact revenge. He also seeks to put an end to Sephiroth's existence who has been terrorizing the planet, feeling responsible for Sephiroth's cruelty. His ultimate goal is to find redemption for his past sins.

HOW I PORTRAY VINCENT VALENTINE I will default to Rebirth Vincent. However, I will also roleplay OG, AC, BC, and DoC's versions of Vincent upon request. I will also roleplay Turk Vincent or Chaos with Vincent personification.

I like to portray Vincent with as much canonicity as possible, this includes his personality, backstory, etc. In places where there are gaps, I will interject my own interpretations accordingly. These will be in the form of headcanons which I will provide later on. Vincent does not have any children. He is not Sephiroth's father. If you have an OC who is portrayed as Vincent's child, or you play Sephiroth, please do not assume that my Vincent will adopt or treat your muse as their offspring. The way I play Vincent is that he has never had sex with Lucrecia. I am open to playing with the idea of Vincent having kids of his own, but that must first be developed through roleplay. As for Sephiroth, again, I do not subscribe to the Vincent-dad fan-theory. However, if you play Sephiroth as a child, I'm open to the idea of Vincent adopting Sephiroth in an AU scenerio. But in no-wise will Vincent see Sephiroth as his biological son. Vincent has the Protomateria in his chest, and he is not conscious of Chaos' true power (yet). This will be my default version of Vincent, unless our RP causes him to become aware of Chaos and transforms, or if we are roleplaying in the DoC verse. Do not assume that he knows he has Chaos yet. He is aware of his three other beasts-- Galian, Hellmasker, and Death Gigas.

The only character Vincent will have an automatic romantic connection with is Lucrecia. Please do not assume he will have any romantic feelings for your muse until chemistry is created FIRST. If your muse is flirty, do not expect Vincent to flirt back. He is disconnected with his emotions. The most you'll get the first few rounds is either a cold shoulder or he'll have signs that he's shy or nervous. He's a very hard shell to crack if you want him to connect with your muse naturally and in a romantic way. It's not impossible, but expect to put in some effort. I'm more for the slow-burns, anyways. Whatever you do, please don't jump his bone and expect him to be immediately horny. I play Vincent as bisexual-demisexual. If he doesn't trust your muse, he will not have any desire to pursue your muse emotionally. I may like our muses together and want them to ship, but the chemistry must first develop. Vincent is a switch/seke. Depending on your muse and Vincent's level of sexual attraction towards your muse, he will either become more dominant or more submissive. Underneath all his garb, Vincent has a monster arm under his gauntlet, a very faint scar under his Chaos-eye, and an equally faint scar on his sternum. He may have the face and body of a handsome young man, but Vincent has a warped image of himself and therefore will be dismissive if someone says he's attractive. He has a number tattooed on his forehead, given by Hojo, which he has attempted to burn and tear off with no success. Thus he keeps his headband on as much as possible. Vincent is capable of warping into his cloak in order to escape an attack, but can only do so in short distances and in short spurts.

During certain fights and situations, Vincent may use a scythe.

Vincent is naturally good with children and enjoys both cats and dogs. Cats and children in particular are naturally drawn to him. His only fear is harming the ones he cares about. By way of connection, he is therefore also afraid of losing control over his demons. If Vincent loses his Protomateria, he will have little to no control over his demons (Chaos in particular). If Chaos takes control over him, Vincent will likely have no recollection of what happened. Since Vincent is immortal, Vincent does not have a need for sustenance. His body is constantly regenerating itself, and therefore cannot get sick, degrade, hunger, thirst, etc. He can fatigue, and will experience extreme exhaustion whenever he uses Chaos, often leading him to faint or become debilitatingly weak.

Vincent has a high tolerance for chemicals, pain, drugs, alcohol, etc. However, they can all still affect him. The only thing he is immune to is anything created by tainted Lifestream aka Nero's abyss, and he is also immune to Geostigma. (More to come later)

This is a tf2 rp blog, and I intend to stay in character as often as possible! If I need to talk out of turn, such as questions being directed at me, I will always use purple text in italics with an additional sign off of "~mod"

This blog is 18+ While I dont plan to post explicit NSFW, I myself am an adult who prefers to be in adult spaces. I wont comb through everyone who may follow or interact with me, but I might block minors if I am uncomfortable! Furthermore, suggestive asks and interactions are fine, but I do intend to stray away from pure NSFW/sexual themes!

Anyone can ask/interact! While BLU Sniper is more likely to be warmer to those of his own team, hes not one to completely shut down other teams or affiliations! He can be cooperative in roleplay and is open to anyone of any affiliation, anons and all!

Shipping & Art I dont mind shipping one bit, in artwork or roleplay!! Its possible for an official ship to develop for Sniper in the future, but it would likely happen over a long set of rp, and of course would be discussed between mods via DMs! No NSFW, but go wild with any fanart; shipping, interaction, or otherwise! (Any of Snipers's family members are OFF LIMITS for shipping, for obvious reasons!)

Lore exists, and drama is fun My Sniper has a laundry list of issues and situations he has lived with, as well as lore that has developed over many years! A lot of this lore is dark and/or dramatic, and can be dark at times. Not to say he is all dark and no day, he does have a fair share of goof!

I reserve certain rights, as I am a person No one is entitled to my or Sniper's replies, and thus some may be ignored. Its not out of malice, but rather simple choice or even accident! who knows, maybe i'm a glutton for lengthy written pieces of fiction but i can't imagine anything better than reading a thought-out, detailed and intriguing story.

20k-30k wc usually takes me around 2 hours to read (when i am not annotating on the side or running laps in my room to calm down from a scene) and even though i do love me some drabbles, imagines or scenarios - sometimes they're so great but oh so short that i end up feeling hungry for more lol.

idk. maybe there is some over-consumption or fast-media issue that's infiltrated even the fanfic community and readers feel less overwhelmed reading fics under 10k? apprehension giving bad/wrong feedback? author burn-out? somebody go ahead and open the field for research already.

there is an overwhelming amount of short fics daily on my dash and not so often bigger oneshots or even series but i've always assumed it's because they take so much more time and effort into creating - which then motivates me more to leave nice feedback when you authors work so hard on them :) vice versa it's a nice feeling when authors take time to acknowledge feedback

lucky for you, i'm physically incapable of writing short fics and loren is an actual witness. whenever i start a fic and go 'yo this actually be short like under 20k) it usually ends up being 26k+ 🤡 and tbh for me personally nothing can top a well-planned detailed fic no matter the length of it!

you're right! there's only so much you can do in a short scenario/imagine/drabble they're like fun little treats, kind of like appetisers/snacks as opposed to lengthy oneshots which i feel like are a full multiple-course meal (and then we have series which are like a whole buffet banquet feast you name it)

yeah there are a lot of factors. even as a writer i know that i prefer reading sth short when i don't have much time to spare but want a little break. reading lengthier works require a lot of time (like you said, about 2 hrs) and you gotta be in the mood all cosy and relaxed to fully enjoy them!

there's def so many shorter works being produced in huge quantities and consumed very rapidly too. writing them takes less time, you don't gotta work out so many details and lose your mind in the process (from my experience writing the few hcs and drabbles i have) and it's... fun? gets a greater audience, more notes? definitely. there are literally so many factors as to why people prefer writing/reading scenarios/drabbles over the lengthier works and i could honestly list them all but i feel like not everyone wants to hear that 💀

personally, i've been pretty consistent with writing the lengthier works, inspired by ppl here who've written so much such excellent monster works AHAHA and since the lengthier fics culture is pretty much dying (let's face it on tumblr it is dying slowly but steadily) i'm devoted to continue contributing to that specific part of the atinyfic community. i could always cook up some short scenarios (i plan to when it's time to retire but i still have ideas that i wanted to write) but for now, we write and write. we write endlessly without a care for the word count :')

there's honestly nothing wrong with wanting to read or write shorter works. i just wish the people who work so hard to create such beautiful and lengthy masterpieces got the attention they deserve. and i wish they do not compare their works to drabbles/scenarios (which you might have observed get a lot of notes in a very short amount of time) and continue writing for themselves and for the readers who appreciate them :')) we're always so incredibly grateful for the feedback we get bc we get some great quality feedback which is our pride :D

miss yumi has always been a clown who goes back on her words esp when it's about taking a break (i actually will be taking a two week break soon like actual break bc i'll be travelling so i'll be back mid aug) but miss yumi also loves writing bc it's the only interesting thing going on in her life and she would love to write for you too (proposal accepted let's pick dresses now :D)

as for the new series... 👀 the current word count is about 70k and i'm not even halfway- this might be the most intricate worldbuilding i've ever done like with the characters and how they're connected to each other (on par with take me home series, might even surpass) and it's... mafia! but the different kind, uniquely yumi LOL and the pairing hmm will remain a secret (take your guess come on)

i look forward to posting it so much it's become my comfort fic. i'll try to start posting it before 2024 but no promises yet bc i wanna finish writing it (or at least nearly finish) before i post the masterlist or teasers.

Since I blocked ask messages... So here is a full version…mostly.

I SKIPPED some questions on which I have no opinion (or Yet)… So might have a blank lil' bit. And yes, THIS IS just headcanons and short sloppy answers :)

1. Who is the better cook? Scott. he only can't see the color. Not the saying Warren is a bad cook. He can make simple foods like stews.

2. Who gets up to cook at 2am? Also Scott. I think he only eats cup noodles or something.

3. Are they into PDA? Who initiates most? They barely initiate affection in public. But they could have some hug.

4. Their favorite show to watch together? Is the news included as a show? If not, there aren't any.

5. Who is the cheesier one of the two? They both have the same possibilities.

6. Who is always, always running late? Mostly Warren. Although he has wings. But sadly, Scott lates when it's important.

7. Who's clumsier? If talking about hygiene, Scott gets way more clumsier especially when he broke.

8. Who is a morning person? Who is a night owl? Scott wakes early and sleeps late at night. And Warren strangely loves flying in the middle of the night… So he's a night owl.

9. Who travels lighter? Warren. he doesn't pack. Just buy it whenever he needs it.

10. Who is always reminding the other not to forget important documents/general things before leaving out the door? Scott. He's got the checklist. His and Warren's.

11. Who leaves notes in the other one's lunch? (Bonus: what do they say?) Warren leaves a message to Scott saying: <3 And the lunch's a blt sandwich.

12. Who prefers calling to texting (& vice versa)? Bonus: Who is so bad at texting it made the other think they weren't interested when they first started hanging out? [This could be hypothetical as much as real]. They both prefer calling. (not answering the bonus question. they probably text as well.)

14. Who falls asleep during a movie? Warren.

15. Who's the first to cry during movies that don't seem sad? WARREN

16. Who hogs the covers? Scott. Warren sleeps in the corner.

17. Who is more competitive? Warren. (we all know)

18. What are they like when they're drunk? How do they act together? & when 1 is drunk, while the other one's sober?

They suddenly laugh and talk about how they love each other like competing about who fell in love earlier.

When Warren is sober: He sits up Scott on the bench and waits until he gets sober. He blocks the wind with his wings and covers him that only he can see.

When Scott is sober: Warren generally gets close too much almost like kissing, he tries to not kiss back even if he is so attractive but still drunk, Scott leans Waren to the couch and gives him a sleep.

19. What do they fight about most often? (Alternative: what was their biggest fight?)

We can get this at Cannon. Not headcannon.

20. Who randomly brings home a stray puppy/kitten to adopt? Both. And they certainly make believable excuses. They look after a few days and bring it to the care center.

21. Any routines one has that the other had to get used to (ex. morning, nighttime, sleeping habits)? Warren takes a long shower in the morning.

23. Who initiates cuddling more? Warren. No doubt.

26. Who is prone to road rage? Warren usually gets angry and Scott stops.

27. Craziest place they had sex? …School for gifted? (failed joke)

28. Who always steals the other's food? How does their partner react to it? Not the always, but Warren. but in a cute way. (idk he's charming as hell. he will be forgiven.)

30. Pet names? Yes or no? I don't prefer, but the comic book says it YES. Scott to Warren: Angel Warren to Scott: Sunshine

32. Who's so affectionate they can't stop touching the other? It actually Scott. Warren thinks he's cute when he gets touched, but Scott has more fun touching a partner, even though he doesn't give too much touch because he's concerned about hurting him.

36. Who is more protective? Warren Worthington, not you again.

37. Who wanted to see Oppenheimer; who Barbie? Did they switch opinions after? Oppenheimer. Warren. definatetly. If have to choose only one movie. He would like both in each way. Scott thinks both are interesting too, but usually takes a side of Warren.

I do some formatting and usually add icons to my replies. But if you don’t do that, it’s fine, I don’t really care about that and I will still write with you so no worries!

I write some characters from video games here and I know some people prefer to use rl faceclaims for those while others just use screencaps from the games to make icons. I'm okay with either, really and will adapt to my rp partner's choice regarding that when we're writing together.

My Resident Evil muses are heavily affiliated with my friend's ( cautionsissued ), since we've done lots of plotting together for them. So her muses Chris, Claire, Carlos, Mia, Rose and Sherry are my mains. But if you write one of those characters too, don't worry, I still will rp with you, it just won't be set in my main/default verse but in a different one. I'm always open to plotting and starting new au's as stated above, that being said-- never let me having a main for a certain character discourage you from writing with me!

I tend to get a little carried away while writing replies sometimes, but never feel like you have to match the length of said replies! Quality over quantity always. :’)

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

For the past week, I’ve hosted quite a few polls to estimate which are currently tumblr’s most popular Digimon Adventure ships! Thank you all for participating!

This main post will analyze the general vibe of the polls, discuss limitations and biases - because every single character will get their own analysis post in the upcoming days. Thus, this main post will continuously be updated under the cut, so if you’re interested, feel free to check in every once in a while!

Discaimer: Please take into account that these results are no definitive display of the Digimon shipping landscape out there! This is just a little experiment I felt like diving into a little more for fun!

Discussion & Links to Analysis

The vote was open from February 6th to February 13th. All the 12 main Chosen Children known from Digimon Adventure 01 and 02 received a main and a secondary poll. (Meiko Mochizuki got an additional poll.) While the main poll listed the other characters from their respective groups (either 01 or 02), the secondary poll listed each complementary group, plus a few potentially notable side characters that might be seen as viable choices in fandom.

Limitations & Biases

Before I go into presenting the most notable results, I NEED to address a few things worth taking into account.

Limited reach/exposure bias: Since there were two polls for every character (and the secondary polls got posted with a bit of a delay), the first poll usually got way more exposure than the second one. Thus, the secondary polls rarely (or only temporarily) made an impact. A few of the polls were reblogged by various blogs and thus gained more attention in general.

Low sample size: Since the polls have not been shared as often, the numbers we’re talking about are not very reliable - in some cases, one singular vote was capable of changing the entire poll, whereas in other cases, singular votes didn’t matter in the slightest, especially when it came to ships that are considered to be “rare pairs”. Thus, those didn’t have a lot of time to shine overall. Additionally, the Digimon Adventure fandom overall is a lot more quiet these days (due to lack of new content), so the polls themselves were not thriving very well.

Follower bias: Since I was the one who posted the polls, my follower circle may have had a significant impact on who was picked for which poll. Naturally, people who follow me, who like the characters/ships I like, are more likely to vote for those certain ships. For example: Koushiro and Taichi may have gotten more votes (and for each other in particular), as their polls have also been reblogged several times, whereas others didn’t get reblogged at all. I can only assume that the results for several characters might have looked a lot differently in other spheres of tumblr - or the internet in general.

Choice bias: The additional characters in the secondary polls were based on my personal guesses, so I may or may not have forgotten other fanon ship choices, which I apologize for!

Redundant voting: It cannot be guaranteed that people haven’t voted for several options in the first and second poll, instead of picking the "someone from the other poll" or "others" choice. Or: If they picked "someone from the other poll", they might not even have voted there at all, we cannot tell. Thus, there might be contradicting votes, which is why I excluded the "someone from the other poll" option in poll 1+2 as well as the "others" choice from the first poll, since they might actually have picked someone mentioned in the second poll. There will be some honorable mentions of course, but it is very difficult to categorize these, so it's a learning for the next poll!

Notable results: Winners (overall)!

Disclaimer: As the “Someone from 01/02″ and “Others” options from poll 1 and the “Someone from 01/02″ option from poll 2 have been excluded from the final analysis and all results were culminated in another “final count”, the results will not be 1:1 to what the polls look like. See Taichi’s spreadsheet for transparency (all other sheets will be included in the respective analysis posts):

Now, let’s dive into the more interesting bits, shall we!

Most votes overall: Taichi (164), Ken (148), Takeru (135)

Least votes overall: Iori (93), Sora (107), Jou (109) + Meiko (54, as she had only one poll)

Most polls won*: Taichi (Yamato, Sora, Koushiro), Mimi (Jyou, Meiko), Takeru (Hikari, Iori), Hikari (Takeru, Miyako)

Clear victories (+50%): Ken (Daisuke, 61%), Koushiro (Taichi, 55%), Takeru (Hikari, 53%), Daisuke (Ken, 52%)

*interestingly enough, this somewhat corresponds with the poll asking for who are the most popular Chosen Children from Adventure as well.

Notable results: Clutch races

Taichi: Yamato vs Koushiro vs Sora; although Sora was almost always third place and usually only tied with Koushiro for short periods; Yamato was in the lead for the majority of the time, but was overtaken by Koushiro in the end.

Sora: Taichi vs Yamato; Yamato led first, was then overtaken by Taichi, then briefly surpassed by Yamato again. Taichi won with the tiniest of advantages in the end, hence the poll displays both of them as winners - ironically enough, as the question of “Taiora or Sorato/Taiorato triangle?” is probably one of the most debated ship discussions of all time.

Mimi: Jou vs Koushiro; Koushiro was in the lead for the majority of the time, Jou tied on a daily basis and took over in the end. This is similar to the Taiorato race, as the “Koumi vs Jyoumi” triangle is similarly debated, albeit not as heated.

Daisuke: Even though Ken was basically unbeatable from the start, Daisuke actually has most votes tied for third place (as you will see in his individual analysis).

Miyako: Hikari vs Ken; was very close from the beginning, but Hikari led the entire time.

Iori: Miyako vs Takeru; Miyako led first, was then overtaken by Takeru. Iori’s analysis overall, however, might turn out to be the most interesting in the end, as the segment below will explain further...

Notable results: Where the 2nd poll mattered

Jou: One of the reasons why the secondary polls were created in the first place was the number of people who voted for “Others” on Jou’s poll. And thus, it is absolutely no surprise that “Bike Girl” (literally the girl he took the bike from in “Diablomon Strikes Back”) came in third overall in the end, being very closely followed by his mystery “girlfriend” in Tri (which may or may not be also Bike Girl, but this was never confirmed or denied, so we’ll never know).

Iori: The “Others” option in his first poll even surpassed Jou’s by a long shot, which will be very interesting to look at in his individual analysis. To keep it shortly for now, this and the comments made in the tags may indicate that people either had a hard time shipping him at all/seeing him as asexual, shipping him with OCs - or, as we will see, with someone from the second poll, Noriko Kawada for example.

Hikari: Daisuke and Koushiro basically had a race for third place for the majority of the run-time, which was won by Koushiro in the end only slightly.

Takeru: Similarly to what happened to Hikari; Meiko came in third at first, but was overtaken by Taichi later on.

Miyako: Mimi and Daisuke had a race for third place for a good chunk of the run-time, which was very closely won by Mimi in the end.

Personal thoughts/observations on my behalf

I actually love how two of the most influental/popular triangles in the OG Digimon Adventure verse (Taiorato + Jyoumishiro) have been racing each other until the very end - while Takari for example was comfortably in the lead the entire time. Shoutout to kbondoxxxxav who has JUST today published this beautiful artwork depicting these exact triangles/ships. It has to be noted though that both triangle races have been incredibly close and could have turned out the other way in favour of Sorato and Koumi instead of Taiora and Jyoumi at any given time. (The same can also be said about Taiyama instead of Taishiro in Taichi’s poll. Personally though, I am very happy to see that the people who voted agree with my personal opinion that Koushirou, Yamato and Sora are the most shippable choices for Taichi.)

At first, the results were a lot more variable - so the graphic I made above could have included a looooot more ships (such as Koumi or Miyori). In the end, it got very even, with one side of the ship usually winning the other side as well (like Taishiro, Jyoumi, Takari and Daiken). Interestingly enough, the Jogress partnerships have been very popular in general as well (such as Taiyama, Daiken, Miyakari and Takori).

For characters like Iori, the votes have been very torn for the majority of the time - while Takeru and Miyako were still the more prominent choices in canon, it was very easy to see how much people were struggling to make a choice here. Same with Daisuke, who, as mentioned above, had three ships competing for third place!

I really hope I will be able to repeat the votings in the future with more participation, just to see how things may have turned out if more choices could get more time to shine!

Final verdict: It was a lot of fun to observe the polls for the past week, to see how certain results would change, with even a few surprises in between!

In reference to my own Headcanons :

I dont push my hcs onto anyone, especially not with things like dynamics, sexualities, gender, etc. I'm the one who steals headcanons and projects onto my favs, and honestly a lot of people are super creative with their own headcanons.

Also I'm very fluid with my headcanons so I can't really state them? I do have genders and sexualities for some characters settled.

In reference to being Mutuals/Friends :

I literally classify anyone as a friend until proven otherwise*, If I am actually all friendly and comfy with you you are friend status. Which is everyone. Their mini-specifics in that but those aren't important everyone is a friend or higher if I interact/interacted with you

Hello followers, I am going on a mission and I need assistance. My mission is to collect the strangest and most unusual fanfictions featuring Arcade Gannon that I can find. Purely for my own entertainment. A personal collection for fun, in the way that one collects uranium glass. (Strange and unusual is meant endearingly here, for the record!)

- NO criticism of the authors and/or their work PLEASE, even if you really hate a certain fic, this is just something I'm doing for fun and I have *no* desire to tear anyone else down.

- Arcade does not need to be the main character, just has a prominent role or has something notable happen with him when he does show up

ABOUT

Sonic is always seen as an adventurer, and he still is! Just a bit older now, but still energetic as ever! And by old, I mean 2000 years old. You might be wondering, HOW is Sonic even this old? Well, the amount of times he has used the chaos Emeralds in his life plays a big part for this! As the chaos energy infused in him, it gave him an enhanced body, along with a longer lifespan, and greater strength!

Speaking of strength, you might be wondering how strong Sonic actually is in the au! Well, to make it simple, he's as strong as he was in his super form when he was a teen, perhaps even stronger! He has great durability, and most likely able to one punch a motherfucker into space. He is able to kill a god without going super. Because of his out of control power, he is required to wear inhibitor rings around his arms.

Speaking of his power, Sonic is capable of killing a villain! And..has done it before. (Eggman). He has learned that just speaking to a villain and giving them a few encouraging words won't ever actually make them change if they're bad enough. So, he decided to just get rid of them! He's the definition of "Fuck around and find out". Don't be scared, as long as you aren't an irredeemable villain, you'll be unharmed.

As Sonic outlived all of his own friends, he has a LOT of more responsibilities, one of these being the new guardian of the Master Emerald, having a small cottage built on Angel Island to live in. He still adventures all the time, he just thinks of protecting the emerald as a small job for himself.

The only ones to keep Sonic company are Shadow, and redeemed villains, like Fleetway, Metal and Scourge.

Sonic is the one to make dad jokes a lot, and he is a great father figure to a lot of people. In fact, he adopted Silver in the future! How? Well, very simple. He found Silver in a cardboard box when he was a kid, said "hell no", picked Silver up, and the rest is history. Sonic is also a very wise person, having huge amounts of information crammed into his head! I mean, he was around for 2000 years. So, it makes sense.

He also carries Miles' Electric around with him at all times, somehow not damaging it.

Not much is known about Fleetway. All is said is that he managed to get himself redeemed a couple decades ago, starting a new life for himself.

He has his own separate body from Sonic now. Again, not much is actually known on how this happened, but all that can be said is that one time when Sonic was attempted to have his immense chaos powers ripped away from him, Fleetway managed to save Sonic from getting his powers removed, at the cost of almost losing his own life.

Without a proper host to contain himself in, Fleetway is more weak than he normally was, seen to be using a cane most of the time to help himself walk. Though, this doesn't mean he can't kill someone.

He's still a sassy bastard, just leaning more on the calm side. He also owns a coffee shop just to keep himself occupied, and let me say, this guy makes a mean coffee.

Shadow is..more or less the same. Moody, closed off, the usual. Really all that's changed is his appearance. And the extent of his powers.

After an unknown fight from a long while back, Shadow lost sight in his right eye, a large scar across his eye. He wears a visor to help his sight. It isn't perfect, but it gets the job done.

Shadow's powers have exceeded over the years, no surprise there. He knows how to control it easily, so nobody has gotten seriously hurt from his powers. Yet.

He also has quite the variety of weapons by his side. He carries a belt around his waist, that are able to hold about 4 guns at once. He also has very long gloves, which lets him hide blades under his gloves, just for any extra weapons.

How do you like, gain momentum and a following in a fandom? I've been a part of a fandom for a while now, and it seems like everyone around me is just somehow better at this whole thing - interactions, engagement, following - than I am. And I'm trying to have fun and do it for myself but it's hard if no one ever engages with your stuff :(

i'm sorry, anon, there's nothing more frustrating than feeling like you're shouting into the void in fandom :(

i'm gonna preface my response by saying i've had this blog since 2010 and, as such, some of my advice might be a little outdated because the vast majority of my following was built up between 2014 and 2017. likewise, i have found in general it's been easier for me to transition from fandom to fandom because i already had mutuals/followers that were interested in the new thing i got invested in and so tended to follow along with me???

like say if i was starting from scratch right now in the 911 fandom there is no way i'd even come close to the same amount of engagement/followers etc if it wasn't for my past fandom experiences, y'know?

having said that, i will say the thing that's always drawn the most engagement for me has been my fics. it's how i gained my first follower surge, it's why i first started to receive asks, and it's generally the thing that gets people talking to me whenever i join a new fandom. now i don't think anyone should have to commodify their place in fandom just to get people to engage with them but i do think contributing in some way lends itself to engagement. whether that be writing fics, making gifsets or fanart, or even something as simple as funny textposts or fic rec lists, or character playlists or rewatch commentary

(like i've had some shitposts reach over a thousand notes in comparison to my fics that would average out between 100 and 300 lol)

beyond that i've found it does tend to be pure fluke what posts gain traction (eg. if a quote-unquote Big blog happens to stumble across your post and reblogs it and it subsequently gets shared around) which is frustrating sometimes but also can lead to you finding your own little circle of friends/mutuals to discuss stuff with.

also i don't think there's anything wrong with private messaging someone if you see them discussing a particular scene/episode/ship/headcanon whatever and wanting to continue a discussion based off their post. i've done it plenty of times! sometimes we might only exchange 2-3 messages other times that person has become a beloved mutual. if you're going to click, you'll click.

overall i would say make your own stuff (again, be it fics, gifsets, fanart, text posts, meta, fic recs, whatever - they all have merit and they all matter in fandom), tag said stuff, engage with other people's content (leave comments in the tags!!!), and message people if you feel comfortable doing so

it's not necessarily foolproof and this website is definitely unpredictable but truly, if you can find 3-4 people you get along with that you can discuss all things fandom with then that's honestly 90% of what makes fandom enjoyable ❤️

o3. 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒. my turns usually get really long: i tend to write multi-para and novella, and often don’t use any icon and minimal formatting. DON’T WORRY ABOUT MATCHING MY LENGTH OR STYLE. write as much as you like, being it more or less than me, and use any graphic you wish, i have no problems at all! i only ask you to write at least enough for me to work with on my next turn, so a couple of lines at least, and to keep the formatting readable. IF I NEED TO MODIFY ANYTHING, LET ME KNOW! i have no problems in modifying or straight up rewriting a turn. i’m open to roleplay pretty much anything, from the light and fun ideas to extremely delicate and dark topics, but i’m not interested in smut, as it makes me extremely uncomfortable.

𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆. i don’t require it for us to roleplay, but I ADORE IT! from pre-established relationships to entire plots to develop and roleplay together, if you have an idea, throw it at me! i’m open to have multiple plots with each character, and even with the same person: if there is something i love roleplaying for, is to see how differently things can evolve based on circumstances! basically, i just enjoy putting together ideas and writing, haha. so never fear of throwing ideas at me, i have never enough of them!

o5. 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄. while it is not a main focus for me, i easily get invested in ships and enjoy writing them! I GLADLY EXPLORE ALMOST ANY KIND OF SHIPS, unrequited and one night stands included. for toxic relationships i INSIST we plot it beforehand, and set our boundaries before writing absolutely anything about it. i ship characters that have some alchemy and am a big fan of slow-burns, unfortunately for me, so those are the ones that i’ll prefer. I’M NOT INTERESTED IN THE CHEATER TROPE, SO ANY NEW SHIP WILL BE IN ITS OWN TIMELINE. i do roleplay some suggestive but am highly selective with who i write it with. SMUT MAKES ME EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE, so i avoid it entirely.
