hi i genuinely can Not stop thinking about your time traveler!glinda fic whos also (kinda) the glinda from the "you used to tell me i was brave" work and i just. theres a prompt that ive been thinking abt that universe and how utterly devastating it is for glinda to relive all of that while elphies just. confusingly concerned.

glinda wakes from another nightmare of, well /that/ day and just decides to go out the balcony for some air

elphie gets woken up and realizes that glinda is not at her bed anymore, sees her outside and sides up to her

"galinda? what are you doing out here?" elphaba asks. glinda starts and quickly wipes away tears that elphaba didnt even notice at first and grows even more concerned for the girl.

"just thinking, and i so enjoy air." glinda tries for a smile but it comes out too wobbly to be genuine. she looks back out the sky and after a moment says, "you know, i used to always look at the western sky in my youth. i still do, actually, if i'm being honest." the last few words more of a whisper of a confession to herself.

"why?" elphaba asks, moving to lean against the railing right next to galinda.

"no reason, or that's what i usually tell myself. most nights i just hope to see even just a glimpse of yo--" she stops abruptly, eyes widening briefly before composing herself, "to see the stars, whatever constellation is conjured up then."

and with a more wistful tone, glinda continues, "i used to see.. them, in my life. every day. but now, it feels like i'd have to wish all my days away just to conjure them up."

"and on my particularly more, worse days, i would. wish, that is." glinda fixes her gaze to elphaba, face unreadable, "and i think i did."

elphaba looks back at the blonde, trying to decipher her look, thinking that her words swim far deeper than what she lets on. but tonight she can't, that seems to happen far too frequently nowadays.

galinda upland never fails to endlessly intrigue elphaba thropp.

elphaba clears her throat and looks back at the night sky, "well, you're in luck because i think that you really did." she points at something in the sky, talking about some star name or whatever, but galinda doesn't really care about anything out there in this moment. not when her elphie looks the same as she used to under the glow of the night. still so devastatingly ethereal and galinda could never, again, take her eyes off her.

not when her wish did come true.

"wonderful, isn't it?" the voice of her elphie snaps her back to reality and notices green eyes fixed on her. notices how the stars reflect so clearly and swims deep in those green depths.

"yeah, absolutely and totally wonderful."

galinda's not talking about the stars at all.

this is so sweet and kinda sad but eh that's glinda for ya. time travel fic is so hard sometimes bc no matter how observant i make elphie she's still missing out on so much of what galinda is going thru, but i do love those little moments where the readers can pick up on what elphie isn't seeing

Hey!! I really love the way you depict Eclipse! I'm writing a fic with him and i need him to open up because it's supposed to be shippy. How do you get Eclipse to lower his guard?

INCREDIBLY fun question too omg!! I will say that who you're shipping him with changes things quite a bit, because he's a very particular person like that. You can't entirely make him open up to Sun the same way you'd make him open up to Solar, yk?

However! I think I would go with roughly one of two ways. And also I ended up yapping for 7 paragraphs so this goes under a read more LMAO

The first way is just, the slow burn of patience and understanding. Eclipse is a very slow burn kinda guy because he's very guarded and doesn't want to invest his energy into people who will end up turning on him in some way. If someone has been around him long enough and has shown that they have no double standards, is willing to hear him out, and is at least trying to make a genuine connection, then this can usually lead to vulnerable moments.

Like, Earth and Moonpea are the best examples of this method I think. Earth has shown to give Eclipse the space he needs to exist without scrutiny because she knows everyone else's kneejerk reaction is anger, while Moonpea has shown that he truly genuinely wants to connect with Eclipse because he cares about their friendship. Both of them have gotten vulnerable truths from Eclipse because he felt comfortable letting his guard down around them.

This method can work well on any iteration of Eclipse but is the primary method for any versions before v4 tbh.

The second method is if you don't wanna bother with slow burn, but it is Distinctly a more angsty path to take. That being: the beloved "break his legs with a hammer" method!!!

This basically means: put him in a scenario where he is Already prone to having a mental breakdown and then stick him with whatever character ur shipping him with!! If someone finds him with his gooey insides already starting to leak through his cracked mask, there's not a lot you can do to hide it now, yk?

He'd definitely try to keep hiding it but if someone is willing to either go "hey man. i don't mind the goo, it's alright" or "let's help you clean this up, c'mon" or even just give him the space to recollect himself before asking questions, then I think it can lead to Eclipse caving and letting his guard down around whoever is there.

And then I guess there is also just whatever Ballora did!!! Just sorta, showing up repeatedly and going "hey bestie!!!" I think this is also a more v4 Eclipse centric method because. motions vaguely at v2 Eclipse and Earth. Previous iterations are too defensive NFKDNC but it did Something so, worth mentioning I guess!!

I have been an anastasia hater since the start. So I hope to see stuff from her perspective. What would her reaction be when she realises she duped an innocent and desperate man for her own gain and left him and his friends die Just to get a leg up on her political opponent. She can't use the excuse that anything she did "didn't matter cuz the loop failed therefore I didn't do it" BRO you did THAT. Babygirl u have the biggest information network out of anyone u didn't need to manipulate a desperate man to get what u want.

And how would Julius even react to that? The lady he swore loyalty to doing something scummy like that. To his friend too. And now she wants to butt her nose in another camps business? And tell them to do this and that? Like damn girl

Though…I see your criticism of Anastasia, but I raise you: in that loop, Anastasia was trying to teach Subaru a lesson.

Obviously it wasn’t her ONLY motivation here, but — the lady set up The Most Obvious Trap in the world that anyone with a lick of self-awareness would have been able to see through in like five seconds (fucking hell all of her men were still in uniform and they were sitting in the middle of the room), took her time to play out an actual negotiation as a test, and then when she got what she wanted took the time to spell out exactly what she saw as his greatest flaw and what he had to do in order to improve. Hell — this is directly paralleled in the (LN) final loop, where Julius goes out of his way to give Subaru a clear test the next time they meet in the form of dragging him into an impromptu negotiation table and practically frog-walking him through a shoddier version of what Anastasia had set up in that restaurant (AFTER negotiations had already been settled, as evidenced by Mimi very nearly completely blowing Julius’ cover in her confusion about what he’s doing). Hell, you could even make the argument that it’s implied she tried to teach Subaru a lesson like that on JULIUS’ behalf, considering the extent to which that man goes throughout this arc to try and guide this dumbass to a path of self-improvement.

Doesn’t change the fact that it was HORRIBLY cruel in retrospect. Like, even putting aside the fact that Subaru was crawling to her in desperation after (from his POV) watching all his loved ones die horribly TWICE and also being chained and psychologically tortured in a cave for several hours, thus making it nowhere near the time or place to try and teach him about being more self-aware — the lesson that Anastasia would have been trying to teach him in that loop was THE WRONG LESSON. Self-absorption isn’t the thing that Anastasia would likely see as Subaru’s core flaw within everything that happens in Arcs 1 and 2: she’d actually probably think that he’s WAAAY too selfless, to the point where he’s repeatedly destroying himself for the sake of other people who hardly deserve it and kinda completely ignoring any ideas of proper compensation for his effort. In fact, Anastasia might even look at it like “THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE SHOULD BE LEARNING RIGHT NOW. I’M MAKING IT WORSE.”

(And as for her butting into another Camp’s business — well. I have a scene planned for the next chapter, so I’ll leave it at that for now.)

When his personality is switched he’s like a rabid beast. His lingering humanity is erased in that moment and purely acts on instinct

He always manages to switch back before he’s completely consumed

The only ‘friend’ he lets around him is Jeff because he could care less is Jeff died, he’s a piece of shit after all

Jack definitely still tries to this day to find a way to go back to normal, even if it means he dies trying because he just wants to be free

I would love your thoughts on this,I read the books years ago, but kinda got the gist that Marius and Lestat were besties and kinda similar, like Lestat looked up to Marius a lot, but the show has already painted Marius in not a very flattering light, totally fair, also Jacob wanted to vomit talking about Marius lol, so how do you think the show will portray Lestat/Marius relationship, it could be potentially disastrous ://

Well.....Marius has always been terrible tbh. One of Anne Rice's favorite type of character was some pompous old white man who everyone knew was a pedophile (with a side order of misogyny) but just accepted him anyway and let him in a lot of spaces without question. Bcuz it's always someone who has "knowledge" somehow.

Fans argue constantly about these ppl, especially Marius, bcuz a lot of ppl read these books too young. Obviously ppl can write whatever they want but usually there is a purpose to the writing. Anne Rice put a lot of ideas out there that just kind of....do nothing. There's a lot of abuse in the books that just sits there. She's usually having the victims stifle their reactions to abusers and eventually convincing themselves it's all about love. It's a real pattern of behavior in abuse victims but it does nothing to add anything to the stories bcuz she writes it poorly. It's not like u *have* to criticize abuse in fiction, it can serve a lot of purposes, but hers is just.....there. It's treated as if the correct thing to do is *never* look at it at all, just get along with everyone without question. This is why ppl think the books teach "empathy" but tbh all it shows is that she couldn't write conflict or even navigate real relationships at any adult level.

The ugly truth about a lot of what she wrote is that she idolized rich, white, and abusive European men. Every single one of them is like this, no matter how much anyone wants to tone down Lestat or Marius or whoever. The show could bring attention in a more critical way to a *lot* of things. That would be amazing if they did tbh. Lestat is always seeking a father figure / mentor and Marius and David are the main men he looks to. It starts off fine but then becomes blurred in this sexual haze that isn't rly necessary for anything?? Marius isn't as sexual as David but it's still there a little....and his history with Armand and Lestat's relationship with Armand p much goes unexamined, which is insane. A lot of the reason the fandom is fucked up too is bcuz she kind of made a lot of serious things come across like a fun Daddy Kink. It's....rly weird. It's like she couldn't look a lot head on, she had to start blurring it into "is the character bothered rn or is this a fun, sexy time??" I think she could have benefitted from a lot of therapy or at least a clearer vision of her writing goals before she wrote most of any of this.

Anyway, my main point was that it isn't rly gonna be that shocking if a lot of rich, white men who do shitty things stick together. It depends how honest the show is gonna be. So far they've been a lot more critical of things Anne Rice never looked at, so the potential for a much better story is there. I think the point that a lot of book ppl insist is in the books is a good thing to pull more to the surface than she did. Awful ppl exist every day and how do u draw the line on interacting with them? What happens if other ppl like them and ur alone in it? Especially if it's ppl u trust and respect? What if the person is rly beautiful? Rly talented? What if it's the partner of someone u love who doesn't see abuse happening? What if ur all immortal too, how do u deal with having issues with someone u might have to see forever?

Since we've seen some of Marius through Armand's version already, I expect that they're going to be more up front on things than the books were. I also expect he's going to still be someone that Lestat looks up to in some way. How it works in the long term, idk, but it's one of the main things I'm looking forward to.

How did unu know that that was something he was capable of; and is it only a dreamscape thing because you said that unu could exist in the human plane for a little while before he started ripping it apart, so have there ever been experiences where he had to go full protecc mode? But yeah, noms were introduced to mark as a sort of emergency option. It’s like a speedy version to help heal mark from some injuries. Or at least speed up the process. It’s one of the ways unu can safely infuse his energy into mark via dream. The other way would be through bonding but since they already had that happen they can’t re-bond. 

If mark is injured in the outside world, the injuries pop up in the dream world as well. One time he didn’t listen to unu when he was like “um u prob shouldn’t try to kill that one yet since it’s really strong and stuff. I’ll do it real quick, k?” And then mark got frustrated since he’s basically been coddled for the past months since Roman passed and he still desperately wants revenge. He’s done nothing but train, so surely he must be ready, right? Nope. he almost died when he tried to kill the monster :D. So then unu had to teleport mark out of there real quick, go down to earth himself, and finish it as fast as possible.

Unu had to commence emergency noms to help him out. Best believe that he scolded mark heavily while he was healing. Inside of unu’s belly is pretty soft and squishy. It’s mainly just for healing since he doesn’t really need to eat like a human would. So maximum comfort from a prickly god. Since unu is actively giving his energy (or life force) he gets kinda loopy afterwards and often has to ‘sleep’ it off. He doesn’t actually sleep but he does get lethargic after big healing sessions. So he’ll be a pretty small flame when he accompanies mark around earth. 

Sometimes he noms mark for time out. It’s inevitable that the kid will see him every night when he goes to sleep or when he zones out in the middle of class and unu has picked up a tendency from all of his past avatars to gulp them down when they’re stressed out. When he does this, he’s not really giving them his energy, but taking away theirs.

It’s sorta like the way he feeds. He takes the negative emotion and absorbs it. He doesn’t need it but it does give him a small boost. Or a significant one. It just depends on how stressed the avatar is. Either way, unu is satisfied with a good meal and the comfortable weight of his human nestled away.

it was pretty funny. she made me write basic info n the classic symptoms tickboxes, history, etc. sat down. she was just Looking Respectfully at the beginning and then opening the talk upon completion of the forms with "You're so pretty" with a transfixed smile and gyattdamn, (learned this from my roomie) i appreciate that coming from an older woman.

i mean she's prolly in her 30s or 40s but yes. it doesn't feel gross 🕺 she paused and stared sometimes just to say that again, alongside making comments about my speaking voice n shit. it felt like an aunt i never had or something 😭

or iunno it just felt so freeing because wow, a compliment on my appearance from someone who isn't my gf, without weird/volatile feelings/intentions? whoaaa. perceived (reasonably) or otherwise. ig it just felt safe in that office. i care about this because a lot of my encounters with others is them being impressed by a skill, a talent, or looks, esp looks bc you can just stand there and that's what people see-- and wanting to use that or exploit that or define me by that and put me on a pedestal instead of acknowledging the person it's attached to, yk? i can't explain very well.

doc also went on about how much potential she could see from the first impression n shit. it's like... yk how i hear this a lot from other people but it never feels genuine? and how this is somewhat special because that professional also told me "you're already impressive, and i can see you're doing your best, BUT things are hindering you."

in contrast to others', "you're awesome but you're not trying hard enough."

it didn't feel as shallow as all these positive words from other people. because i somehow want to tell them "i can be better; this is not it" but they won't believe me. just going "you're just being humble; look at ME."

like, stop comparing yourself to me to make me feel better. that's not it. that's not going to make me feel better; i just want you to believe i can be greater without everything that's keeping me tied down.

I feel like they'd end up in a similar situation as they are with nightcord when they're absolutely TERRIFIED of the group figuring out they're trans their secret, but ay they're having fun, there's nothing to worry about, right? right??

Hanasato Minori

guess what! it was actually Minori's idea to start making music! well, kinda. Minori has already given up on trying to be an idol. after so many rejections she just figured it's time to give up...so she did. however, I think at some point the group gets to hear Nene sing for the first time and it sparks something in Minori. Nene's singing oddly reminds her of Haruka, and it inspires her once more, even if just to sing one song. she's still pretty hopeless all things considered, but she's trying!!

Kusanagi Nene

speaking of Nene! she's pretty much become a psuedo shut-in. ever since Rui has been spending more time with Fantasista SQUAD, Nene's had less and less contact with her one and only true friend, and she's almost lost her passion for singing and theater. oh yeah, and her stage fright is up ten-fold. the group went to a kareoke bar at some point and that was the first time she actually sang in front of everyone, but of course after Minori eggs her on and on, she kind crumples back and is hesitant to actually make anything of her singing. of course she eventually gives in gains some confidence in herself, but AUGH

Mochizuki Honami

and finally, the saddest of them all...maybe besides Mizuki but still--

I won't say too much on her as I know barely anything ab her besides she's a pushover and a people pleaser, and maybe even that's not entirely right, so take my words with a grain of salt. make ur own version of this au's Honami if u like!! anyway--

Honami has been distant from her childhood friends for so long, and she's completely unwilling to try and reconnect, as she sees Aoharu/friends doing just fine...but that's okay! cuz she has her own new group of besties!

im so glad u watched 19 bc i truly have soooo many thoughts on like theres so much potential & really good scenes there but so many misses. the tex part is easily the best part of it though i still cant believe it actually happened. i kinda wish sarge's death was off screen like you see them watch him die but give him no final words sort of deal... i feel like it wouldve been a better plot device rather than the longer scene if sarge saying what he's feeling as he dies. sorry i keep thinking about that its my main thing i wouldve changed. well that and putting wash back in prison instead of a mental facility because i think a prison break with untreated mental illness couldve done more than ....... whatever the hell the wash scenes were. restoration is easily the best set up for fanwork ive seen in a while tho NGL the meta tucker concept is soooo fun i wish it got explored more. sorry im rambling in ur askbox now LOL

YESSS sorry for the late response. im glad rvb restoration dropped hwen it did so ic ould watch it irl with my girlfriend but it did happen to be during the most busy month of my year so obviously my blogging has been completely slacking. i really love this final line that apparently sarge was going to say. i think its more sweet and poetic than him spelling out how hes feeling about simmons and grif in particular

no yeah my biggest issue is just like. this felt like a vehicle for like, meta scenes saying goodbye to the reds and the blues, but the actual like "plot" of the season didnt really have any time to develop and had to just be quick weird scenes that were just kind of tonally dissonant and not really polished or treated with the same kind of care and deftness he was able to handle mixing the humor and plot elements of the recollections trilogy. both due to the runtime, him being out of the game for so long, and needing to do a full plot in one season instead of three. it really felt bare bones. which is fine it's just like, obviously you can see that its not the best, and i feel like if it was going to just be a vehicle for sappy goodbye to rvb as a property scenes i wish it had just gone all in and given us more interactions between the different characters. idk. im not really sure how id fix it aside from just having my own completely differnet version of their future in my head but ive already kind of written that post out for my post chorus vision lmao. dumpster baby forever...

META TUCKER IS REALLY FUN AND I COULDNT BE TOO MAD AT IT because it was literally a type of concept that epsilontucker riffed on after the open ended s13 (oh my god rip epsilontucker i think im gonna be sick). but his scenes again felt pretty jarring nad just put in there to keep the season moving and wahh why did they torture him for 10 fucking years ahhh scary AHHH. yeah, now that you said it it really does feel like. the bare bones of an incredible 250k word fanfic written by someone who has a different more serious tone than the original series like, put my guns in the ground style, moreso than an rvb season LMFAO but that's fine if anyones still in the fandom and cares to do that i'd love to see it. idk. im rambling. it was a good fun stream and i liked individual scenes but it was definitely all over the place for me

i had a few other plans for that universe that have kinda been derailed by cc drama or whatever including a sapnap centric fic that i started writing already LOL idk if i'll resurrect this project in some capacity and change things around but here's the first scene of that fic since i like it a lot and george is fun in it

Sapnap is quite literally living the dream. If the 11-year-old version of himself could see him now, just ten years later, his jaw would drop to the floor in amazement. Who would’ve thought that the short nerdy kid who they shoved behind the plate because nobody else wanted to don all the equipment every inning would be here now— the starting catcher for a Major League Baseball team?

He hopes all the kids that used to shit on him when he was younger are eating their words every time they turn on ESPN. Realistically, they’re probably just using the fact that they went to school together as a fun fact during company icebreakers, having forgotten about their years in school together entirely.

It’s been three years since he was crowned Rookie of the Year in a hectic season that changed his fucking life but most of the time, he still feels like he’s on top of the world. Last season was probably his best so far and he feels pretty good about this season, even if it’s nearly June and his batting average is barely breaking .260. He can do better and he’s going to. If he really applies himself, he can still break .300.

And, as much as Dream claims he has the yips, he doesn’t. There’s no reason for him to be having any sort of performance anxiety, not when everything has been going so well. He gets to play with his best friends in the fucking world, including George who is like his baseball soulmate and there are little kids in the audience wearing jerseys with his name on the back that genuinely look up to him as an openly bisexual athlete in the MLB.

He plays for them, really. As much as Sapnap loves the game, he also likes that it gives him a chance to be a role model for kids that might feel alone as he did, especially for the queer kids that need to know they have as much of a place in professional sports as everyone else.

In the years since Sapnap and his friends have been out, plenty of other players across the league as well as in other sports have followed in their footsteps. They’ve made a difference, solely by being themselves. It’s kinda epic, as George might say.

Except, of course, when it isn’t.

They’re playing the Yankees because of course it’s the fucking Yankees, which means that the ballpark is fucking packed. They always pull a bigger crowd when they play New York. Something about big cities being connected or something like that.

Even though the Yankees are damn good this year, they’re up 3-0. It’s not a surprise really. Not when George is on the mound, their top starter by far now that he’s really hit his stride in the league. Even if he’s already pitched four innings, he doesn’t seem all that tired and he’s still throwing strikes, so it seems like he’ll have a few more with him.

It’s one of the Yankees outfielders that says it, some tall guy that hits good enough to validate his fucking ego, and he whispers it under his breath, just loud enough for Sapnap to hear.

“Surprised his hand hasn’t given out yet,” he mutters. “Gotta be tired from stroking Dream’s tiny dick all night.”

For a moment, Sapnap glances back to the umpire, who had surely heard what he said since it’s pretty packed around the plate. The ump looks at him with a frown, as if he’s disrespecting his time with the mere act of glancing back over such fucking brazen unsportsmanlike conduct.

Fuck that. Sapnap motions for a time-out and steps back from behind the plate, running toward the mound.

Dream shoots him a questioning look from third base and he waves him off. He can feel his coach glaring at his back, probably confused as to why he’s calling a time-out while George is still on top of his game.

George furrows his eyebrows when he got there, shoving the ball into his glove. “What’s the issue? I thought I was pitching well. One single this inning isn’t enough to take me off the mound.”

“It’s not that,” he tells him, glancing back at the batter for a moment. The asshole is fucking smirking from his place on the plate. “Fuckface over there said something douchey.”

He snorts and lifts his cap for a moment, running his hand through his short hair, which has gone a little curly with sweat. “You don’t need to tattle on annoying batters to me, Sapnap. What am I meant to do about it? I’ll try my best to strike him out, just as I always do.”

“He said your hand must be tired from stroking Dream’s dick all night.”

George’s jaw tenses and his free hand balls up into a fist. It’s definitely not the first time that he’s heard this sort of thing— not even the first time that it’s happened in a game— but usually, it comes from leering fans rather than players who have reputations at stake. “He said that?”

Sapnap nods. “Yeah. And I believe he called it tiny.”

“Well, he’s simply incorrect about that part. I’d bet $100 that Dream is more gifted than him down there, so to speak,” George says with a cursory glance at the guy, making Sapnap wrinkle his nose. He wants to get George pissed off so he’s more motivated to strike this asshole out, not hear about his other best friend’s dick size.

“Just strike him out for me,” Sapnap says, patting him on the back. “And for Dream.”

“Sure.”

George purses his lips and something unreadable crosses his eyes. Sapnap hopes that he didn’t accidentally make him nervous rather than motivated. Confidence is an essential part of George’s success as a pitcher. He doesn’t choke very often but it’s almost always because he gets stuck in his own head.

Sapnap runs back behind the plate and crouches down into that familiar stance, signaling the next pitch to George. A curveball.

Except, George doesn’t pitch a curveball. With fire in his eyes, he sends the ball hurtling directly toward the batter and, when he tries to jump out of the way and dodge it, it slams straight into his back, making him scream out in pain.

“Oops!” George calls out, loud enough for anyone in the infield to hear. “I suppose my hand just got tired or something.”

A medic and the Yankees coach start running onto the field to check on the batter, but he ignores them, stalking toward the mound instead and drawing his hand back. The batter, in his full muscular 6’2” glory, punches George squarely in the face before he has a chance to duck out of the way. George stumbles back and nearly falls to the ground, barely sticking out a hand to catch himself in time as blood drips from his nose, small droplets of crimson littering the dirt on the mound.

“George!” Dream shouts, running toward him from third base. George jumps back up and punches the other player in the jaw before he can reach him. George is generally a pacifist, despite being a shit-stirrer with his friends,  and it takes a lot to piss him off. The fact he threw that pitch in the first place is shocking. But physically fighting somebody? Sapnap has never seen him like this in their three years of friendship.

The runner on first starts to get into a screaming match with Punz and suddenly, Yankees come piling off the bench with gritted teeth and wild eyes, rearing for a fight.

The guy on deck comes for Sapnap and, even though he has a few inches on him in terms of height, Sapnap is the stockier guy. He throws his helmet on the ground so he can see better and tackles the guy to the ground, throwing a punch at him that barely hits the dirt instead of his face.

The Yankees player uses the momentum from the punch to flip them around so he’s on top of him, straddling his waist in a way he might find erotic if it wasn’t some ugly second baseman that sprays a little spit out of his mouth every time he yells, and he throws a punch of his own, which Sapnap is barely able to block with his arm before thrusting his knee up into his gut. He hopes the plastic from his leg guards make it hurt just a little bit more. Now that he’s been roped into an actual fight, his catcher’s gear feels a little bit like armor.

The player winces and falls backward, allowing Sapnap to stagger to his feet. He looks out to the field for a moment to see if they’re winning this brawl.

It’s a fucking frenzy. Half of the players on both teams are throwing punches at somebody and pretty much everyone else is screaming and swearing. Dream is desperately trying to pull George away from his particularly nasty rumble while another Yankees player tries to pick a fight with him at the same time, only to be absently swatted away. There are definitely no winners here right now: just blood and obscenities being hurled all over the place.

Sapnap turns back toward the guy he was fighting just quick enough to see the first hurtling toward his face. He isn’t able to stop it this time and the hit sends a burst of pain flashing through his face as he falls back onto the ground with a puff of dirt rising up around him.

A sickening smile spread’s across the guy’s face and he’s about to reach down to hit him again when the umpire started wildly blowing his whistle and pulls the guy off by the back of his shirt.

Once the rumble simmers down to a mixture of shame and dirty looks, the umpire points toward George and motions for him to get off of the field even though the batter was the one to throw the first punch. The stadium boos him loudly. It isn’t fair that George is getting booted from the game but the guy who threw the first punch still gets to jog over to first.

George is covered in dirt from head to toe as blood drips from his nose and seeps into his black jersey, invisible save for the few droplets that hit the 17 stitched onto his chest. Even though he should be pissed off, he snatches his hat off the ground with a wild grin. George turns toward where he knows a camera is fixed on him and winks, blowing it a kiss as he struts confidently off the field.

What the fuck? Dream mouths to Sapnap as he marches back to third base.

Sapnap waves him off. George’ll explain it to him as soon as he gets back to the dugout anyway, even if that might be a while, judging by the mediocre pitcher that’s being tasked with relieving him.

Seriously. I hate money. I have enough of it. I'd like more of it to be comfortable, but i'm doing fine. the real thing is I don't want to think about compensation for my art and writing. It makes me feel weird! Print it out and sell it! ONLY THING I ASK: don't let them sell it for more than 5 dollars. It feels weird to me to sell a review of an indie game for more than the cost of the indie game itself! But that's just me.

If you do the B&W version you could get it printed for less than a dollar from a shop, which honestly: you might as well do it yourself at the library for cheaper since I imagine you don't want bulk! I would love nothing more than for you to sell this zine for a dollar. More zines should be a dollar?

What are you getting out of this? Why do this?

Money doesn't make me happy (although it does help prevent calamity from things that *can* make me unhappy), its people reading and seeing my work that makes me happy. About 500 people have read this zine! Thats already so crazy to me! I would love nothing more if people picked this up and got hungry for more games discussion in the zine world. It's shockingly not as full of a niche as i thought it would be! Also. My stuff in stores just like. straight up benefits me! My name is prominently on the front and back of it! The download page for it has a donation option! I'm not starving here. Print that shit out, make yourself some money, and buy a coffee on me. You're not going to become a gazillionaire selling zines. I think. Would be funny if you did tho! What about tabling with this zine?

YES! Nervous about tabling because you don't feel like you have enough? Well print my zine out and now you have stuff that costs u pennies to make your table look fuller! Just lie and say I'm your friend or something! In a way, i suppose i am in ghostly meaning of the word. Only thing i ask is don't try to aggressively trade using my zine because like. Idk! It feels weird. That's just me though. I'm not your dad, a cop, or both.

ANYWAYS. I write this out because i think zine distribution should be that: distribution. Get that shit out and get it cheap! Words for the people! This is my long way of saying get out of your head and have some fun printing and cutting and learning how to do that. I will be making more stuff free to distribute, and and i would love to see other people do that if able!

REVIEW OF THE KILLER is a (mainly spoiler free) zine review featuring commentary, analysis, comics, and various evil activities. It released on my itch.io page and will be free for anyone to download, as well as a convenient reader embedded in the page itself. It is releasing alongside the steam version of Anthology Of The Killer by @myfriendpokey.

It is available to print in both a4 and letterhead format, in color and B&W. All of these will be available in 600 or 300 PPI (as disgustingly high as Itch will allow) as well as regular old, web and storage friendly formats. I recommend vibrant pink and canary paper for greyscale copies. It is free to distribute as you please.

ok so its taken me a little while to listen to all of these lol but first can i just say thank u sm for going to the effort of making this post, its very well organised and sweet of u to do <33

anyways i really really loved sleep token like i genuinely think that their music is what i've been looking for for like the longest time !! so very excited about that. though i definitely will get to listening to all their music at some point, my favs of the ones you said were probably 'jaws' and 'dark signs' (i actually already listened to jaws earlier this week so i was happy u recommended it lol) but literally all the songs were amazing, like the vocals were absolutely heavenly, the instrumentals were amazing and i loved how natural and noticeable the drums were, like it wasnt in any way faded into the background, all the aspects were so sharp and i loved it, im also really big on lyrics and they were Great!! like i really love the themes they touch on and the way they do it. i also did go ahead and listen to the 'hypnosis' drum solo version and i LOVED it, ii is amazingly talented, its insane jdksjsjw (also can i just say i love how they called it 'an offering from ii' like just the whole vibe of sleep token is amazing), anyway i did listen to 'gods' and 'vore' too and though they were a little heavy i did like them and i really really honestly loved vore (and i had to think about the dark byler agenda bcs,,, cmon i HAD to)

'are you really okay?' also caught my eye while i was scrolling through 'take me back to eden' (album) and listening to take me back to eden (song) jdjshxhs and i also really loved it, it was great

hello !! hi !! sorry for taking days to reply, i've just been so excited to answer this that i kept it in my askbox to smile at it a bit longer, and then i kept getting distracted whilst replying x.x

anyway, the short answer is that i recommend their every song, but that's not particularly helpful so i instead made you a little list of songs that really showcase what they are about, roughly going from lightest to heaviest :]

(bonus: "gods" and "vore" are their heaviest songs by a mile, if you're interested in checking that style. they don't go there often though)

in terms of their albums, listening from the oldest to the newest might also be useful in terms of getting used to the heavier sounds they explore. "sundowning", for instance, is incredibly chill and relaxing (bar a couple songs) whereas the latest album, "take me back to eden". has the more nods to metal overall.

last, for some quick lore, the band's concept is that the lead singer once had a dream where he encountered an elder god called Sleep. the band's songs (tokens, as they call them) are thus made in worship to Sleep, and their message is meant to be interpreted however you, the listener, wish. that said, there are recurrent themes of toxic relationships, romantic trauma, unhealthy coping mechanisms and moving on.

as for their identities, the band are all anonymous —to keep the focus on the music as opposed to them— and therefore all wear masks, body paint and robes. for simple identification purposes, they are referred to by roman numerals:

i/vessel — lead singer and main songwriter, as well as pianist during concerts (rituals) and multi-instrumentalist in recordings;

ii — drummer and secondary songwriter;

iii — bassist;

iv — guitarist and sub vocalist (harsh vocals) when live.

they also have a choir of three "vesselettes" (term coined by fans) during each concert, who provide lovely harmonies and sub vocals.
