The IGN article came out detailing the three choices that you can import and I have an opinion and I’m not trying to fight, this is my opinion and my opinion only and if you want to have a gentle and respectful discussion that’s fine. But if my feelings or tone get policed I’m gonna block you because I’m an adult and I’ll say what I want to say in my blog.

Three choices is a cheap cop out to force the Solevallan narrative and create a narrative around Solas that he’s some sad poor defenseless boy just doing his best.

It is in fact a spit in the face of returning players, especially those of us that have been around since Origins.

But what I am most upset about, besides the sadboi!Solas narrative they’re pushing, is that only these three choices mattering in a game that is as close to a direct sequel as this franchise has had is really shitty writing.

It’s weak narrative structure to think that decisions made in Inquisition have zero world impact just because you’re slightly more north on the continent.

Especially considering the Inquisitor is IN THIS GAME.

The Divine matters, therefore Cassandra, Leliana, and Vivienne’s stories matter

Bull could be dead, which makes if the Inquisition siding with the Qun matter.

Blackwell can be dead and or a Warden, which considering we’re going to Weisshaupt matters.

If the Warden is alive (the person credited with like the single handed ending/prevention of the 5th Blight) matters when we’re going to be interacting with Wardens.

Morrigan having a demon baby matters

Who rules Orlais (considering Brialla can be the true power) matters

If the Inquisition sides with Mages or Templars matters.

The Well of Sorrows matters because someone has the Flemthyal soul/magic

Who you left in the Fade matters (at least to Varric even if not all of Thedas)

But I think, most of all, this soft reboot of the franchise is a very odd and ultimately poor decision considering they’re making it as close to a direct sequel as possible. This is not the game to start over with and considering they’ve already fired a majority of the DA devs and writers, I wouldn’t be surprised if this kills the franchise.

I really hope I’m wrong. I am still going to play but almost all of my excitement is gone, not least of all because the Solavellan fans I’ve interacted with have been NASTY about it. (Not all solas fans but a vast majority that I’ve seen)

i. He really was so very cute. All of Jonathan’s clothes suited him, from the sinful polo breeches to the swirl of a kilt. But there was something so very classic about her husband in a tuxedo. 

When he was all starched and proper all she wanted to do was muss him up. A few undone buttons and a loose bow tie, his hair askew from where she tunneled her fingers through it. 

With care she straightened said tie, setting him to rights. The theater wasn’t the time or place for what she had in mind.

That was for the hotel. 

ii. Jonathan fixated on the feather boa all evening. It caressed his skin when Jennifer wound her arm through his, and tickled his nose when he dropped a kiss to her neck. It was frivolous and silly and he wanted nothing more than to torment her with it.

Later, much later, he would wind it over her breasts and watch them pucker with pleasure. He would tickle over her abdomen and between her thighs until her toes curled and her head thrashed against the pillows. 

The ridiculous thing would be ruined when they were done with it.

A random package is being sent to me from another state, a state I have no connection to, like no friends or family members live there…and after checking my credit card I can confirm I did not make a sleepy late night purchase I forgot about. So, I can only guess what this package is…who it’s from…and that scares me to death. Mentally I can’t take getting back what I know would be in the package from that person…I thought he’d forgotten about sending that stuff back…but if he didn’t, if it’s from him….I legitimately can’t take that happening 😭.
