gonna start with bloodborne w this because I LOVE THE BLOODBORNE OST WITH ALL OF MY HEART oooooowee

so the OPENING VISUAL/TRAILER OH MY GOD. the vocals just bring me to such emotion and just really dives you into the land of yharnam so well and the variations between the tracks bloodborne/the night unfurls/omen ughhhh AND I KNOW. they may SOUND the same but they all have their own unique vibe in my opinion. the night unfurls is very very vocal and sort of melancholic, bloodborne is orchestral and aggressive and gives that rush of continuously dying to a boss and then finally winning and getting that 'prey slaughtered' pop up AND OMEN. OH MY GOD I LOOOOVE OMEN, it's the one in the trailer and LAWWDDD what a thing to hear when getting introduced to a game

a maybe lesser enjoyed theme i really like is lullaby for mergo, which is such a lore steeped song for a boss fight because it's referring to queen yharnams child, the one from oedon (assumedly) i just enjoy it's little music box feel and sound

next is moon presence.. do i even need to say anything? THE FEELING FROM THIS SONG. THE IDEA OF BRUSHING WITH THE "DIVINE" the frantic sound of it, in a way attempting to describe what the moon presence is. an indescribable eldritch thing being put into song. it's sort of anxiety inducing in its scratchiness and thundering tones. and nearing the end it gets softer and there's a slight twinkling and then the final crescendo as the hunter begins his ascendance to becoming the next great one. LORDDD

i'm gonna talk about old hunters songs now because how could i not??? — AND HOW COULD I NOT START WITH LUDWIG??? the transitional sounds from accursed/holy blade .. accursed representing his foulness, his fall from grace and becoming the thing he swore to hunt and destroy. the darker tones and vocals. the foulness of being a beast in his appearance. the switching from accursed to holy blade slightly sounding like a hymn or a prayer in correspondence to his appearance slightly changing. there's now a clarity and gallantry to the music, as if ludwig has regained some of himself even though he's still foul and accursed as ever

lady maria — to me, this song really gives you that peek into maria and her story. the class and elegance of the first half, the maintaining of her composure in her defense of the tower, the area and the secrets beyond. around the 1:18/20 mark there's a descent and an added aggression. i saw this really interesting take on marias theme as like ph1; lady maria of the astral tower ph2; lady maria of cainhurst ph3; lady maria the vileblood. and the song visualizing her and her background and using everything in her ability to stop the hunter from discovering kos etc because she failed previously and to most, pretty much cascaded the entirety of the games events

yo, sorry if this is a weird question and its totally ok if you don't feel like explaining stuff to a stranger; but uh. i've only ever played bloodborne before out of the soulsborne titles, and i admit i'm not very good at them in general, but i got pretty far in bb (beat micolash, and ludwig in the dlc); so i was wondering if you know if there's an equipment/stat/build or whatever that kinda 'feels' like the energy and vibe that bloodborne has? i wanna get into elden ring but it does feel different to me and its making me struggle getting used to it... so maybe s/t that feels like it would be good to 'transition' to it? thank u and keep being excellent 👍

There is no weapon in Elden Ring that feels like swinging a weapon from Bloodborne. But! There is an ash of war you can put on most weapons that allows you to have a dodge similar to Bloodborne, it's Quickstep. You can't spam it but it gives you a pretty good dodge.

But really, you shouldn't play Elden Ring like Bloodborne, you will have to get used to Elden Ring. And you will, eventually! I believe in you!

omg omg where do I even start. (no, really, where do I even start. the answer would be very different depending on whether you've played the game or no (I shall assume you have not??). also I will only talk about Bloodborne because there are too many DS games lol and Bloodborne's lore is way more interesting.)

ok ok so Bloodborne follows the player's character, The Hunter, who has been transported to and trapped in Yharnam, a city succumbing to the Beastly Scourge - a blood-borne illness that is turning its residents into strange and horrifying beasts. We, The Hunter, hunt them as we attempt to find and understand the source of this illness and put a stop the scourge.

The events of the game seemingly take place over the course of a single night, and the game has distinct stages depending on the stage of the moon. These moon stages affect the world, so no areas are exactly the same if you traverse them again as the night has progressed. For example, some enemies fall asleep, and some NPCs change as they succumb to the illness (or simply madness) as the night advances (such as everyone's favorite NPC, window guy Gilbert)

Bloodborne has a stat called Insight - it measures The Hunter's knowledge of the true world around them, above what mere humans can usually see and understand. The more crazy shit you stumble upon and the more important enemies you defeat, the more your insight grows. The game world that the PC perceives changes depending on how much insight they have - the more insight into the world and its true workings, the more the player can see. For example, previously invisible things become visible, enemies change or appear where they previously would not, things animate and come to life, etc.

The game has 3 possible endings (each with dramatically different implications for The Hunter). Which one the player will get will depend on how they interact with certain items in the game and on the player's own choices. One ending gives one extra super cool boss fight, and one gives 2 extra super cool boss fights hihi

There is a lot of like. cosmic level fuckery going on in Bloodborne. Nothing is as it seems and you should always doubt whether the places you encounter are the real world or no.

Random tidbit but I really love this: one of the objectively coolest and scariest monsters in the game is the Amygdala, named (and modelled) after the amygdala part of the brain which is responsible for processing fear (The Amygdala has a very important role in the lore, which makes all of this brain shit even cooler)

cleric beast: A STELLAR START!! sets the stage for the game!! yharnam's poster child!!! a beautiful baby beastie!!! challenging in all ng cycles while avoiding becoming a grueling nuisance, like woah!!! 10/10, iconic, beautiful, fluffy, screeeeeeee

gascoigne: fave song in the soundtrack, so handsome, heartbreaking story, handsome, phase 3 can be beaten by. walking. which is, eh. but!! handsome, and has a nice voice, and,, handsome,,,,,, 9/10 cus fuck those tombstones

ludwig is the artorias of bloodborne there i said it and i mean it as a compliment except i guess ludwig is stronger willed guess

???? D U D E???Artorias was at the end of his hope when we met him, he had a broken arm, for all he knew his puppy was dead, he failed his job, and he couldn’t resist the abyss anymore. Not only that, he gave his covenant to Sif so they could survive even after he went away, and even while corrupted by the Abyss he killed an enemy (sure it was for a cool entrance but ya don’t see the large arm bois fighting large arm bois so there’s still SOME artorias there, and honestly I think the only reason he attacks us is because we’re human... we have the abyss inside us at all times) and he retained his moves. I can only cry thinking about a bossfight with Artorias and his shield. The horror...Ludwig, I have to admit was pretty strong, but without the Sword he would have remained a beast. I don’t know if Artorias would remain abyss corrupted even if he had seen Sif again? So I guess I can’t really prove anything with this. But still, I feel like Ludwig and Artorias were falls from graces, but where one was at the end of the rope when we met him... well, only blood-crazed hunters end up in the dream. Ludwig fell from his high horse way, waaaay before we met him. And for such a transformation? He must have been pumpin’ enough Blood to keep Yharnam well supplied for years :V (At least that’s why I assume church ppl turn into “the most hideous beasts”, because of how much blood they have to take because of rituals etc etc”) and still the only thing that could save him from bloodlust was Miyazaki’s fetish for that green swordbut anyway ludwig and artorias are badasses anyway and I love them
