I have problems incorporating Ellie because the comics/movie timeline does not link up, and I've had a hell of a time fixing the Xmen movie/Logan Timeline (because it has to make sense in my story damn it) I'd have to retcon wade banging Carmelita Camacho when he was broken up with Vanessa, and how do you do that tastefully?
So what is your opinion on how to do this?
Does it work in cannon?
Thoughts in general?
Okay so- Canonly to the movieverse, It's said that Ellie (Eleanor camacho) will not be in this universe, this is probably because Ryan doesn't like the idea of dipping on his daughter seeing in many comic universes, while he does take in Ellie he quickly realizes how crap of a parent he is, always on the run, always in danger, and he dosn't want her in danger (most times) so he leaves her with an adoptive family. He visits often, gives her a phone and tells her to call him any day or night for anything at all and he'll awnser, he plays with her often but has to leave half way through almost every time, her adoptive parents sometimes dislike Wade (for obvious reasons) but they let him come with them trick or treating and to her birthday party.
In the comics Ellie also is a big fan of Spiderman and peter meets Ellie a few times, saying he wasnt aware Wade even had kids, in which he responds that he wasnt either until a couple years ago. This is said as a joke since Ellie is only about 6 when this is said, but its true, Ellie was already born by the time he knew anything about her existence.
He even told her mother that she couldn't possibly be his because she's too beautiful. All in all, you can see him struggling so hard to balance his mental health, his work, his daughter, and just trying to live enough FOR her. She becomes his anchor, but really... really.. struggles to meet the standard of a "good father." To us, we can see how hard he's trying, but Ellie, her father, lies, doesn't come when he says he will, and all an all? Gave her away. It's a gorgeous story, really, depending on which one you read. Older Ellie eventually takes on the legacy of Deadpool in one universe and tells people loud and proud that she's Ellie Wilson and that she IS deadpool (similar to how Laura IS Wolverine).
Alright. Canon done and done.
Now. As the Board of Headcanons thoughts and opinions.
Yes- Ellie would be conceived during the time Vanessa and him are broken up, so somewhere between movie 2 and 3. I *Think* that it's implied that Wade went back to make Vanessa alive again, shooting himself in wolverine orgins, trying to kill baby hitler but failing, etc and then its implied (I think) that Cable goes back home after that seeing as in the 3rd movie the TVA says that he abused his powers with it and Wade mentions that he dosn't have it anymore. That he "smashed it" or something but Wade is a known liar. He probably returned it to Cable (or idk maybe he really did wreck it. Dropped it off the freeway or something- but then they probably could just fix it again idk) so he could go home to his daughter.
Im not entirely sure on the deadpool movieverse timeline, but I wanna say it's a good 6 years in between movies / how long he's been broken up with Vanessa? So yes, they totally could have had Ellie in the plot since Carmelita was a hookup. One that kind of was a bit Eeehhh if you ask me anyway since she only does it because she thinks she's about to die and wants to have sex again before that. He takes off his mask, and she runs off, probably leaving Wade feeling way worse then before hand.
Now I haven't read this specific comic, but she claims that she couldn't find deadpool for the entire pregnancy (accurate) and wanted to give Ellie up for adoption or she wanted child support (?) So Wade took her instead.
You could very easily label her as a sympathy/ rebound hook up from Vanessa but again, movie would be more complicated if he came back to vanessa with a whole kid so thats why they decided to keep her out (and child acting laws/pay probably)
There would infact have to be a whole argument of "Wade where the fuck did you get a kid!?" "Uhhhh shes mine" "no take her back where you found her thats someones daughter you nutcase!" "No no- I mean... shes literally mine.."
Which would do well inna fic where Vanessa and Wade stay broken up, because If my ex boyfriend had a whole kid with someone else I doubt it would be easy to get back together- but if you want it to where Vanessa is still together-ish with Wade then you will have to do something where Vanessa becomes kind of like a step mom.
With how young Ellie is- you could probably write it to where she fully believes V is her mom in the first place. The timeline makes sense that way, I think. You would just have to work out the whole "My boyfriend is having a massive mental identity crisis and is extremely depressed to the point he's neglecting his daughter"
And THAT would be the issue. Does Wade neglect Ellie sometimes? Yes. Is it for her own good? Yes. Would he EVER do anything to personally hurt Ellie? You're out of your god damn mind if you think yes. He does not want to be like his father so he would never hit her. Shout at her? Sure. Regret it? Instantly.
I also can't see Vanessa leaving Wade in such a dark place with Ellie and Al either. She definitely wouldn't leave a child in a home where she wouldn't he cared for- So you would have to have V take Ellie which would lead to Wade being MORE depressed, and maybe thats why he's trying to get his life together so badly? To get his daughter back?
Because normal dads have normal jobs right? Hence the car salesman gig. Maybe hes saving up to move to somewhere so Els and him can have a cleaner, safer, bigger apartment because Obviously sharing a bed with Al makes Vanessa look at him with somewhat suprise and pity. V would want him to get a place where Els can sleep safely and have her own space. Even if its their own apartment and wade gives Els the room and he sleeps on the couch, as long as shes his priority.
V taking Ellie from him would be a major eye opener for him to get his shit together.
(He also would probably call her all the time to talk to ellie and demand that Ellie dosn't meet Vs boyfriends or hook ups because HE'S her dad, not them, he'd kill a bitch if Ellie called them dad)
After the movie, when Logan and Laura are there, Wade can look at her and ask if he can have Ellie back now, and she tells him "Lets start with weekends." Because she can tell just how much he's actually gotten it together but hes not quite ready to have her full time again.
As time goes on with Logan, They would eventually have to move but yes, in about 6 months time he would get Ellie back and have his little family that consistents of a mommy, 2 daddys, a dog, 3 daughters, and a grandma.

my bad if this has been asked before but, who's your favorite DC hero? Or superhero other than spiderman? and for that matter, do you have any investment or knowledge in DC or are you a Marvel-only individual?
I don’t have nearly AS MUCH investment in DC but i do still like it a lot! Picking a favorite from DC is much harder as in the case of Spider-Man he’s not just my favorite Marvel hero but he’s also like…. my favorite fictional character of all time. So it kinda comes standard with that territory LOL.
HOWEVER, I can definitely say that Batman has some extremely compelling stories and though I wouldn’t consider myself a super fan or anything I definitely lovvvveeee some good Batman media. He also arguably has the best superhero rogue’s gallery apart from Spidey, so that helps. I know I meme about The Jokester™️ a lot but he truly is one of the greats and an undeniably striking presence at his best. I also love Green Lantern simply cause I think his power set fucks severely, but I know next to nothing about his actual lore unfortunately.
I would be remiss to not mention as well how much Young Justice has introduced me to some new favorites. Artemis/Tigress, Zatanna, Miss Martian, Blue Beetle, Dick Grayson/Nightwing. All fantastic, and that’s not even all the ones I love haha. It’s good stuff!

What's your opinion on Izuku getting One for All? Like, I understand that part of the fandom doesn't like it, since he's quirkless, but for my point of view, I don't care about that, besides, I think One for All is important for Izuku, since he's the protagonist and I think it would be meaningless if he didn't receive the quirk, of course Izuku should continue to remember his past and such, but I think it's kind of silly for the fandom to criticize this, to be honest there are things that I think the fandom exaggerates in question of criticism. Plus I always imagine Izuku being Superman or SpiderMan.
I can see both sides of the argument.
I absolutely understand why some of the fandom takes issue with him being told, "You can only achieve your dream if you modify your body." It's hard not to label that as ableist. Horikoshi's execution of this certainly doesn't help.
But I think the problem at its root- that people who make this argument don't understand- is that heroism in MHA is a profession. It's easy to point out characters like Batman and Iron-Man because they've worked around not having powers. However, forgoing the fact that both are filthy rich, they aren't limited by regulations and standards (well, sometimes in Iron-Man's case, but Batman is a vigilante who literally works outside the law).
Heroes in MHA are bound by regulations, they adhere to a system. While there might not outright be a law that prohibits quirkless people from being heroes, that system is created to bolster power above all else. They didn't even let quirkless people into UA at all until Izuku was in middle school, not to mention the hero course.
So while I think Izuku could have been a capable hero without a quirk, it's a matter of the system not letting him become one. That's something no one- not All Might and especially not Inko- could have changed. The most Izuku could have become was an illegal vigilante. I feel like not enough people recognize that.
As for One For All, I actually like to compare Izuku to Captain America. The Super Soldier Serum simply enhanced what was already inside him. Good became great. Izuku wasn't just handed OFA, he earned it. So that someone good could become someone great.
The past users also had to choose whether to give him their quirks, which also reinforces that he had to earn their respect. He had to prove he was worthy of their power.
Earning One For All has always been about his heart, not his body

the batboys' favorite male marvel heroes
Our golden boy, Dick, is a massive Spiderman fan. He’s not embarrassed in the least to admit it, and he’s also not worried people will think of him as just liking something popular. He has pretty good reasons to like Peter Parker and he’ll defend it to hell and back. He’s young, fun, and lighthearted. Heroic and smart and handsome and sweet and Dick can go on for hours and hours on that topic. At a young age, he sympathized with Peter for a number of reasons: they were both orphans, taken in by someone after this loss; even after all that pain they still grew up to be happy and joyful people to be around; both are very smart. As he grew into his super hero persona, they started sharing a whole lot more, like their flexible fighting style, the way they both deal with villains. And you’d often tell him they share the same bubbly personality. Also, Bruce used to spoil him rotten with spidey gifts. Comics, action figures, school supplies, spiderman shampoo and conditioner, towels… You name it, Dick has had it at home. Truly a spidey fanboy through and through. He also has a costume at home waiting for the day he can go on patrol wearing it.
Let's be honest here, we all know Jason would live for the anti-hero trope. Growing up, he’d always been drawn to more heroic types of antiheroes, like Wolverine for example, who’s hell bent on fulfilling his duty but does not live by the hero standards as some others do.  But after a certain incident with a crowbar and a clown, he saw refuge in the spirit of vengeance himself, the Ghost Rider. C'mon, a motorcycling maniac, whose body is completely covered in fire and who fights for justice no matter what? *side eyes a certain somebody* there's no way it isn't up to his alley. He’s in the comic store right after patrol, in the early mornings, to buy whatever issue was released next and reads it like it’s a Jane Austen novel. He also buys older issues, and keeps them wrapped and well stored like his precious babies and he ain’t letting anyone touch them. Perhaps with one dear exception, you.  Jay is into the classics though, if he had to pick between one out of all the riders he would have to choose the very first rider, Johnny Blaze. When riding his own bike, he’d pretend to be a rider, spitting lines he remembers from the comics and using them on random robbers he stops on the streets. Don’t talk to him about the movie though, that’s off topic.
Tim Drake is not one to pick “silly” heroes like his older brothers do. Or he at least pretends to do. He’s into the smart supes, with admirable brains and capacities well beyond imaginable. But he’s also a bit of a contrarian, so he won’t go for easy picks like Dick Iron Man. So when he sees a powerful AI turn into a nearly unstoppable android he instantly becomes a fan. Even before living with Bruce and becoming Robin, he would ask his parents to get him the new Avengers issue with Vision in it. However, unlike his brothers he’s very chill about it, he doesn’t feel like he needs to explain why his favorite is the best, or why they're a token of justice or a mad warrior. He knows Vision is good and that no one can fight him about it. He also wishes he could stay awake without the need for rest like he does, but he’d definitely miss the coffee.
Don’t really let anyone know it, but Damian’s favorite hero is his dad. But Batman is a real, flesh and bone man, so it won’t count here. He struggled to have a favorite hero, reading comics is “for children” and he’s too mature for that. He’s an adult. But when he caught a glimpse of Dick sleeping watching the new Moon Knight tv show, this boy got hooked. Not only is he a cool,  merciless fighter, he is also intelligent and has a cultural impact on him like no other. Marc’s internal conflict with all of his personalities feels like a reflection of Damian’s own troubles with his families’ contrasting ideals: is he supposed to be a deadly weapon just like his grandfather would want, much like Jake Lockely, or is he a nicer warrior-esque hero like Marc and his father? Anyway, that cape, Dami loves the hooded cape *see that, bats? much cooler!*

SPIDER-MAN OC‼️‼️ holy fuck the new movie was so good I’m going insane! I craved to make my own Spider-Man oc, it was strictly necessary or else I would have exploded.
I don’t usually post oc stuff on tumblr but fuck you I NEED to share my boy, clown spider deserves to be seen 😤😤
His name is Solomon Barret, he’s an 18 year old art student. They were bitten by a radioactive spider when his art class was having a field trip at an art museum that was close to the science lab that made it. Solomon didn't even notice being bitten since he was hyperfixated on taking notes of an art piece they were observing.
When he woke up the next day, he noticed some strange things in his body but chalked it up to the few hours of sleep he had gotten that night while working on an art project.
He started noticing major differences later on. After discovering his powers, he wasn't inclined to do anything with them. He has never fantasized about being some kind of hero. He decided to use his new powers of being able to stick to walls and surfaces to paint murals onto. He started to paint beautiful murals onto places where no human could get to. He started signing the paintings with 'spider-pierrot' since he loves pierrot clowns and french art and characters.
He designed his costume after a pierrot clown to further his persona as a performance act. He used his powers to be more of a figure who painted beautiful art with powerful messages. He wasn't interested in becoming some kind of vigilante or superhero.
His canon event is that because he didn't use his powers to stop crime, one night as he's working on a painting he sees a someone run past him, the man is shady, but Solomon does nothing and returns back to his painting. He later found out that the shady man was involved in an incident that gets his older brother Esmé killed.
He decided to begin taking his powers more seriously and using them seriously, becoming a vigilante.
He incorporates pantomime into his fighting style and aerial acrobatics, an art form he's very interested in. He uses pantomime as a distraction/diversion tactic, to confuse is enemies. He also will pantomime quips instead of verbally humiliating or joking with them. He has always been selectively mute, and uses sign language to communicate mostly aside from pantomime, but will speak if necessary. He uses his webs in a somewhat puppeteer like way.
He has the standard spiderman powers such as super strength, stick to walls, spider sense, he can naturally create webbing instead of using a device, still deciding on any unique powers he may have, but his fighting style keeps him unique enough for me!
Uhh yeah I like him a lot :>

Human Buddy with Spidey powers spending time with the minibots aka Pipes, Swerve, Rewind, and Tailgate
SFW, platonic, Human reader
MTMTE
Pipes
He is conflicted. He loves how strange and cool Buddy’s powers are. Being stuck on Cybertron and in several space stations, one doesn’t see many exciting things like Buddy.
That being said, he is a bit grossed out by the web fluids. Its nothing personal, he just doesn’t prefer it.
“Hey Buddy, you mind not getting the webbing in my face? I’d rather not touch it when I have to clean it out of my gears.”--Pipes
Has paid Buddy to climb up the walls and scare someone at least once. It only happened once because Buddy got paid to do the same thing to Pipes. It was quite a view seeing Buddy caring an unconscious Pipes to the medbay and having to tell the story.
“You want to explain to me what happened with him? This has nothing to do with the incident with Trailcutter a couple days ago, right?”—Ratchet
“In the hypothetical situation that it was but it was also the way I could buy you the next round of engex at Swerve’s?”—Buddy
“… fine. But no more scaring. The next crewmate could lose their remaining logic circuits left.”—Ratchet
Has tried to arm wrestle Buddy in the past but couldn’t exactly bring himself to go through it. He knows humans aren’t strong, at least by Cybertronian standards, he doesn’t want to accidentally hurt Buddy. Even if they do have extra strength, he isn’t risking that.
Tries to test their Spidey Senses from time to time, trying to catch them off guard. This never works though.
Pipes hiding behind the booth.
Buddy walking by and jumping up to the top of the booth looking at Pipes.
“Nice try Pipes. Maybe someday you’ll get it.”—Buddy
He was in awe the first time Buddy showed him how they use their webs to move from place to place in the ship. He loves it when Buddy does little flips through the air or stunts and actively encourages it.
Buddy on the top of a high shelf
“Do a flip!” --Pipes
“Don’t do a flip! Where in Primus’s name is your self-preservation!?”—Ratchet
“Bold of you to assume I had any to begin with.”--Buddy
Swerve
Is fanboying so hard! He has a real-life superhero living in the same space as he is!
“OH PRIMUS! YOU’RE JUST LIKE SPIDERMAN!!!”--Swerve
Definitely has read every Spiderman comic and seen the latest Spiderman movies to try and understand Buddy more.
Buddy has to hold a mini Q and A with Swerve to go over what they can and cannot do. Swerve does cool it with the questions after a bit, but that doesn’t stop the fan behavior. He considers himself lucky to even have him as a friend.
“So can you climb up walls?”--Swerve
“Yep.”--Buddy
“Can you shoot webs from your arm or is there a machine that does it?”--Swerve
“All organic webbing.”--Buddy
“Can your bite paralyze someone?”--Swerve
“…You know I haven’t tried that one yet. Let’s find out!”--Buddy
He finds the webbing a bit icky at first but gets used to it fast.
“Hey Buddy! Oh, upside down greeting today.”—Swerve
Buddy offers to bring some drinks to patrons in the bar area. Swerve humors them and lets them deliver some of the drinks. But only on the bar area, not in the tables farther from the bar, only to avoid any accidents. Still marveled at Buddy’s strength as they casually bring cups of engex, 5 times their size.
“Buddy Trailcutter wants another round, mind passing it over?”--Swerve
“Do you need to ask? Heads up Trailcutter! The Engex express is fast approaching!”--Buddy
“There’s an engex train?”—Trailcutter
Swerve uses Buddy’s Spidey Sense to his advantage at the bar. Buddy is quick to catch any flying cups and projectiles that come close to patrons heads.
“Heads up Trailcutter!”—Buddy
“Who’s head?”—Trailcutter right before a cup nearly smashes into his face
“You okay there Trailcutter?”—Swerve
“…I think I’m going to my habsuite now…”--Trailcutter
Prides himself in his knowledge of Earth superheroes and knowledge on the Webslinger Warriors. That being said it is not the same as seeing them in action.
Swerve was excited and so anxious when Buddy showed him how they sling from their webs. The fan part of him is telling him to stay put and enjoy the view of Buddy swinging and doing their tricks. The friend part of him wants him to dive to catch Buddy when they leap off from high places and keep them on the ground where it is relatively safe.
“Buddy as much as I love the whole swinging and all—OH PRIMUS WATCH OUT! —okay you’re fine. What was I saying again? Oh yeah, please get down—GENTLEY AND SLOWLY!”
Rewind
He is having a field day. Thanks to hosting many of Swerve’s movie nights, Rewind has a good amount of footage of Earth heroes.
Was surprised to see Buddy in action with their powers. Personally, he thinks that their webbing is fascinating.
“Its so thin, yet you can do so many things with it and it doesn’t break!”—Rewind
Since then, Rewind has made it his personal mission to film every cool moment Buddy has using their powers. Along with some where they’re goofing off with their powers.
Buddy minding their own business deciding to randomly walk on the wall.
Rewind behind them, filming them crawl like a spider.
Rewind likes The Spidey Sense, it’s like an alarm for any kind of danger. Not only that, but it is trustworthy and reliable. He has seen Buddy get out of trouble from Ratchet using it.
“Rewind have you seen Buddy?”—Ratchet
Rewind remembering seeing Buddy escape through the vents a few seconds before Ratchet coming in.
“Nope can’t say that I have.”—Rewind
The first time Rewind was introduced to their super strength wasn’t under the best circumstances. A rather rowdy bar fight had broken out outside of Swerve’s and the crowd was moving harshly. Buddy was perched on Rewind shoulder to avoid getting stepped on, Rewind was doing his best to get them both out of the fray. He was looking around for Chromedome for help when he was suddenly jostled upwards. Buddy had webbed them both away above the fight and now semi dangling from the ceiling. Rewind wouldn’t have mind being up so high if he hadn’t realized that Buddy and their webs were the only thing between them and the ground.
“BY THE ALLSPARK! HOW ARE YOU CARRYING THE BOTH OF US!”----Rewind
“Its called ‘practice’ and ‘please-stop-moving-so much.’”—Buddy
“Sorry…”—Rewind
Has that moment archived and had sent it to Buddy after the fight as a thank you.
Rewind, like Swerve, has mixed feelings about them swinging around so freely. He loves filming their stunts and tricks, but he is also painfully aware that a drop from that height will me terrible consequences.
“Wow! That flip was awesome—MAGNUS! WATCH IT!—okay your safe no—THE DOOR! WATCH THE DOOR ITS OPENING!”—Rewind
Tailgate
Thinks that Buddy is the coolest human he has ever met. Sure, they are the only one they’ve met, but that’s not the point.
Absolutely believes that humans have powers on Earth. Has teamed up with Buddy as the Power Duo.
“Let’s go kick some can!”--Tailgate
“Right behind you Tailgate!”—Buddy
Is a bit icked by the webbing but tries not to say anything about it because he doesn’t want to indirectly offend Buddy.
“Buddy, do you mind keeping the web fluids on me as minimal as possible, please?”—Tailgate
Has been itching to arm wrestle Buddy, but they never complete the game. Mainly on the count that he will start to panic when he sees Buddy struggle. He thinks that he is hurting them and it usually ends up with him panicking a lot and Buddy stopping to console their friend.
“I’M SO SORRY! HOW BAD DID I HURT YOU!? I’M A TERRIBLE FRIEND, DON’T COME NEAR ME I MIGHT HURT YOU EVEN MORE!”—Tailgate
“Tailgate everything is fine! It was an itch! It was an itch!”—Buddy
Likes to play around with them when it comes to their Spidey Sense. Sometimes he tries to hide and surprise them, it becomes a running gag between the two of them.
“Finger in the head- dang it!”—Tailgate
“Nice try Tailgate. Maybe next time.”—Buddy
Tailgate does not like it when Buddy swings around. He doesn’t mind it too much if they are closer to the ground and the hallways aren’t packed. But if anything is different, he is actively trying to persuade them to get down.
“Buddy, Buddy, Buddy can you maybe try swinging a bit lower to the ground? Yeah? That’s good—ALPHA TRIONS BEARD DON’T DROP LIKE THAT! BUDDY STOP, IM SERIOUS, PLEASE!”--Tailgate

FOP: A New wish e31-36
short bought here huh? that's what we get for a finale i guess. it's so weird having a whole season air in LESS THAN 2 YEARS. ahem, sorry about that ^^; lets get this party started (during a tornado watch!)...and finished a day later because i lost power with LITTERALLY 3 min left of the last episode
Episode 31: Hazel Wells and the Multiverse of Jenkins
is the title a reference? i mean aside from multiverse shenanigans, because holy wow multiverse shenanigans??? i am excite! can i get a cameo?? (please note; this is a joke, i don't seriously think i'm cool enough to be on the creative team's radar*)
wait title cardTHAT is Jenkins?? the beanpole kid with the glasses?? i remember him from the zombie episode
haha Dev's causing trouble because he can, i'm betting Jenkins doesn't have a crush on Hazel at all...and maybe Dev told him the inverse so that's why he's gonna be after her
oh Father Time, because a do-over...like Deja-Vu...eh they're keeping consistent within itself, so i can't complain *glares at s9* hehe the clock poof said "wibbly wobbly"
so many time loops. Hazel is such a disaster girl lol. but those who don't eat the cereal, even the mystical, are affected by the loop, very interesting.
we keep mentioning the daylights savings (which is back an hour, so it's fall season??? what time is it????) at the start of each loop, so i'm sure that'll be a big deal
aww sweet in one loop the hijab girl gets a crush on Hazel
her middle name is Antoinette?
heh everything in the hallway was a metaphor for Hazel's problems. but she learns her lesson with minimal magic. and ha i called it, Dev made it up to annoy her.
so...it wasn't really a multiverse thing, more a time loop.
ah, well, still a good cute short story. we need fun light and easy too. good job.
Episode 32: Growing Pains
synopsis sounds like a standard aging up plot. lets do it
hi big brother. and yay Hazel's love of horror movies returns!
hey a canon teen Hazel, that saves me time. but lol "your neck is longer" way to call out the stylization lol
hey is that Dinkleberg as the theater cashier???? also Chinfinity War poster
but teenager shenanigans montage. ok cool. more punk goth girls, this time it's Hazel. huh
pasta puberty? o...kay...it's fairy puberty...o....kay...you guys never put any other godkid who wished up their ages through this
heh pads. this show is great
and her pasta pits are working like octo-legs. why does FOP have so many Spiderman connections/themes/allusions???
dawwww such a sweet comforting, realistic talk with her parent
and a gross button to end on. eh, not so bad.
this was another fun light episode. again, minimal magic to fix it, main character learns a growing up life lesson. good stuff.
Episode 33: Fairy for a Day
synopsis sounds like the episode where Tim wishes to be Cosmo and Wanda's fairy godparent who's title i can't seem to find right now...
old Jorgen design!! and Fairy Con??? but Cosmo Con said it was held every millennium...or was that only because of how long Binky was spinning?
i would want that shirt, not gonna lie
ah she's not being an actual fairy, she's cosplaying to sneak into a con. mkay
wow, we're actually bringing up magical backup...and death memorials...what are you show? (that third one isn't me right O.o no...that doesn't look like how i've ever drawn me, but the 8s....)
Hazel don't you know never to sign contracts with the fae?? now she's a real fairy...with starry glitter hair...huh *makes superverse notes* and kids can't wish to be fairies? uh yeah they have; is that another rule Tim had made?
Anti-Hazel???? cool! why she has a backwards name though, that was unique to Peri and Irep...but i guess since they were the first *new* fairies in a bazillion years, maybe the backwards names is what the newer gen of anti-fairies is doing.
i don't have much commentary on the magic battle to get the paper back, it's pretty ok. and everything is fixed and reset to one by the end. it's a fun magical romp, good one.
Episode 34: Stuck in my Head
synopsis sounds almost like parts of Imaginary Gary???
oh Hazel, it is just a silly internet quiz, don't sweat it ^^;
ok he inner mind is a museum. both works to info dump which is eth goal, but also since she's such a bookworm and organized, it also fits-
SHE WANTS TO CREATE A COMICBOOK SERIES????? and she writes poetry? Hazel, baby girl, i love you sweet child
why was Vizolia (sp?) here?
can't wish away Hazel's mindworm huh? can't remove her negativity huh? despite...having done that before with Tim in Emotion Commotion (not that it ended well sure, but still), or Vicky Looses Her Icky, or even earlier this season with Jasmine's fears in Fearless (though i guess it just manifested the fears she still had them)
but hey, defeating it with the power of positive thinking as taught by her mom, that's a good lesson to teach. good story.
Episode 35: Mind the Gap
oh boy Tooth returns. how's her design going to be wildly different like most of returning characters...
hey follow up on Patty Possum...well sort of, we got distracted lol
oh look, Tooth has no design change. weird since we changed everyone else that's reappeared
talking teeth...ok...who speak in teeth puns
haha the line! "How'd you do X-thing? "Uh...internet?" lol i love it, 10/10 A+
ah i think i see where this is going, Toothica, being an artificial tooth is just totally fake in all her actions/words
that joke wasn't funny...especially with the pause for laughter part...maybe that was the joke?
the logistics on how a tooth sets a mouth up as a rave and invite other teeth is...dumb to unravel. so let's just marvel that the colosseum setup in Fairy World still exists
of course the bad guy outs themself and the day is saved and we reset to one. it was an ok episode.
Episode 36: The Battle of Big Wand
a double (30 min) length episode for a finale huh? and the title does sound fitting for such an event. 1 millionth wish huh/ sounds almost like something muffin worthy....which yeah, why are there so many ways to get a rule free wish when they are so no-no?? (it's almost like fae rules make no sense lol)
heh they're padding her wish count to get her to hit the goal
new math thinking meme screencap please
heh 39-40 times, because it's episode 36
oooo evil-fied Fairy World looks cool
wait, did Dev take everything over OFF SCREEN?? please tell me they'll show us how as the ep progresses via flashback, because that's some really big development to do OFF SCREEN (*grumbles about Marvel*)
ok we are getting a montage explanation...sort of. i feel like Dev taking over ad teaming up with Irep could've been an episode in itself.
Dev misnamed Wanda Pam. funny...and kinda close to Pan, which i named Blonda "Panda" after Cosmo's datebook misnaming Wanda that in Dog's Day Out...hm....
oh he's evil gloating to the world. welp, you just revealed Fairies and magic to the world at large (heh Crocker cameo, also AJ), so if he wasn't in control of the Big Wand i'm sure he'd be loosing Peri and mind wiping right about now. Dev why you slide back so hard into antagonist? you were doing so well! another episode would've helped flesh that slide, just saying
hey Patty and not-Timmy too
heh Dale just praising Dev because he's the new overlord
oh we brought up magical backup because Peri is dying. wow
Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda!
Pet Cemetery joke??? O.o Show! i love you so much
pffft thank you! everyone DID notice the magical stuff and just didn't bother pointing it out. but they did think it was weird.
gotta make some calls for backup at the commercial break huh? you gonna call in the previous wishes? or are we gonna get Timmy...
oh back to the evil lair, guess we'll find out when they attack
see Dev isn't evil and wanted world domination, he just wanted to be noticed and validated, like always. Dale wanting world domination follows
ah yeah she called in all the wishes
Anti-Fairies should love broccoli, why is that a bad thing?
dawww Peri telling Dev he loves him, Dev gives the key. he is really a good kid, just like i've been saying he doesn't know what he wants so he can't be pleased. and Cosmo even said it! dawwww
magical backup was never that fast acting before...is it sped up because the Big Wand is off so there's no syphoning to help mitigate?
so...was restoring Fairy World her rule-free wish? since it was the next wish granted?
dawwww Dev willing to take responsibility and punishment. but he is mind wiped
oh no it wasn't the next wish was auto rule-free, you have to state you're using it. and it's to let her friends remember magic...huh, that could be an interesting dynamic for a s2, the only time we've had others remember magic were when they were antagonists (Remy) or co-protagonist (Chloe). plus, with Dev mind wiped, the chance for that to get undone is also looming. so we got plot threads we can follow up on
and yes Peri, a fart joke...i do hope for a s2 too because this series was actually very fun!
i think towards the start i said this was sort of a do-over for what they tried for Chloe, and to a degree...yeah still is. you can see the shared elements, but by removing Hazel from Timmy, it made it work so much better. as i say, i actually loved Chloe but she was a huge well of missed potential, and Hazel seems to have learned from that and made it work.
i am quite ok with New Wish being the prime timeline continuation, and i hope it continues to thrive...for at least another season (we don't wanna ram it into the ground repeatedly like we did the original series after all)

Hey Ariel!
I was just thinking about the Next Mutation X-Men and their interactions with some of their multiversal variants.
And to start this off, why not start with the leader of the team himself.
NM Cyclops and 616 Cyclops would get along quite well.
The latter of which would really admire him for his heroism, optimism and incredible power.
And just to add to the wholesomeness, 616 Cyclops is also happy to know that this version didn't (and possibly won't) have to get through the same bullshit he's had to go through (especially during his childhood).
Because if there's one thing 616 Cyclops is, it's not envious.
The same also applies to 90s Animated Cyclops as well.
Evolution Cyclops would see NM Cyclops as the coolest dude around due to his powers, his personality and his experience as an X-Men.
These two would have something of an older and younger brother dynamic.
Now for the three, this is where things get a little complicated.
First we have Ultimate Cyclops.
Essentially, I was thinking that there would be two versions of Ultimate Cyclops.
The first being from the OG Ultimate Universe.
Ultimate Cyclops was one of the few members of the X-Men that didn't test my patience.
So I think he and NM Cyclops would get along quite fine.
However, he had his moments of tryhard edginess (which is standard for that universe), which I could see NM Cyclops just rolling his eyes at.
The second is from an alternate version of the Ultimate Universe, that looks almost like the OG, but has some notable differences.
Being that it isn't suffocatingly edgy.
The Cyclops of that universe would be pretty reminiscent of Evolution Cyclops, so the relationship between him and NM Cyclops would be quite similar.
As for his appearance, he would look like this.
Tumblr media
Next we have Fox Cyclops.
Similar to the Ultimate Cyclops, there would be two versions of this guy.
The first being the one from the OG Fox Verse.
Yeah let's be real, there would be nothing positive about this relationship.
NM Cyclops would see this Fox Cyclops as nothing but a joke and a loser.
And just like everyone else, questions why the hell Xavier made him the leader of the X-Men at all.
He would also get onto him for two other things.
Allowing his Wolverine to cuck him.
His leather suit.
The second version would be from an alternate version of the Fox Verse that was actually faithful to the comics.
So there, Cyclops is actually a character and we actually see why he's the leader in the first place.
So he and NM Cyclops would have a similar relationships to the 616 Cyclops and 90s Animated Cyclops.
Finally, we have Wolverine and the X-Men Cyclops.
Now this is really depends on when NM would be taking place in conjunction to WAXTM.
If this took place after the first season, I could see their relationship being quite positive.
Since for the planned season 2, Cyclops was suppose to finally get his act together and would've gone back to being the leader of the X-Men (in addition to now sporting a new outfit in the form of a modernized version of iconic 90s uniform).
Tumblr media
But if this took place during the first season…..
NM Cyclops wouldn't be able to stand him because of his shitty attitude and constant angsting.
And whenever WAXTM tries to step up to him whenever he's called out on his bullshit, NM Cyclops would continually prove to him that he is not the that guy.
I could see three scenes coming of this dynamic.
-One where WAXTM gets thrown through several walls by NM Cyclops, like in The Incredibles.
-One where NM Cyclops uppercuts WAXTM Cyclops, sending him flying high into the sky and falling back to the ground with a loud thud, leading to this glorious line….
Tumblr media
-One that's basically a recreation of this glorious scene…..
Tumblr media
@s10127470
What about Spiderman and His Amazing Friends (1981-83) and the pilot Pryde of the X Men Cyclops (1989)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there's also Earth 41001 Cyclops, who appeared in the minisseries X-Men: The Earth and GeNeXt (an alternate timeline where the characters aged in real time rather than being in a slow timeline), who was married to and had four children with Emma Frost (Alexander, Meggan and twin girls of names unknown).
Tumblr media
And Earth 1191 Cyclops (who also fathered a child with Emma Frost named Ruby)

Since Loki and Spiderman canonically crossed paths with each other in the comics, I would wonder what would happen if either Miles, Gwen, Miguel, or any of the Spiderband would do if they crossed paths with the god of mischief. Miguel certainly wouldn’t like him, that’s for sure.
Oh I'm so sorry @plusultrayokai I completely missed this ask!
Ok so I am unfamiliar with Loki's character outside of the MCU, so I''ll have to answer this based on that knowledge. (Although perhaps that IS what you're looking for, lol) I dont believe that the MCU is connected to the Spider-Verse trilogy in any way, although I do think there are other Marvel characters that do exist in the Spiderverse, they'd just be different iterations from the MCU, but for simplicity's sake we'll just attach MCU's incarnation of Loki to the mix with cheap heavy duty scotch tape (not very sticky, trust me!). Now I'm not suuuper invested in Loki as a character, but I think I remember enough.
I can see Loki's crossing paths with these guys as an anomaly who our guys gotta nab and send back. Knowing our god of mischief, Loki aint havin' that, cuz now he wants to rule whatever dimension he's been yeeted to for the funz! But he'd be a real pain to nab, he can shapeshift, he can...(struggling to remember) mind control right?
*quick Google search*
Ok there's also conjuration, levitating, laser blasts pew pew uhh and teleportation, telekinesis, and... apparently he can control the weather??? no wait, he can make it really cold. brr.
But yeah I dont think I need to state how much Miguel would have ZERO tolerance for this guy. Dealing with Loki would be like, fighting a Mysterio, except without the reality-bending visions that manifest your deepest inner demons and unresolved trauma, so you don't even get the benefit of an intense yet healthy session of character development. Shockin' sucks.
Miles probably is the one giving him a run for his money in combat. He can turn invisible, he has like, electric powers. And one of Miles' strengths as a Spider has been shown to us time and time again to be outsmarting his opponents, so I bet he's gonna find a mind game to play on this out of touch ancient god. Miles thinks the shapeshifting is a cool power though. Transforming at will could make the double-life thing a whole lot easier. Totally Jealous. Honestly, Miles would be asking Loki a lot of questions like how his powers work, any convenient ways they can be used, and like, since he's a Norse god, maybe try asking him some mythology questions for his upcoming exam on Homer's Odyssey.
Gwen's making so many Shakespeare in The Park jokes, making fun of his outfit. These are pretty standard Spider-Man quips, you'll get used to it. Also I think she'd have MANY questions for him about that horse thing. She's begging everyone to be careful not to damage Loki's helmet in the battle because she 100% wants to keep it when they're done. The band manages to defeat him without breaking the helmet thank god, but then Miguel eyerolls at her request and sends Loki back to his dimension without letting her nab it and she is DEVASTATED. But then Miles surprises her the next day with, lo and behold, Loki helmet! (he and Hobie snuck over to Loki's home dimension after he'd been sent back and ripped it right off him ^^)

Some thoughts about Miguel, the comics, and what it could mean for Beyond the Spiderverse
This post has spoilers in it! It also contains mentions of suicide. And it's also VERY long. Consider yourself warned.
Comic vs Movie Comparison
Going to be starting this off with comparing movie Miguel and comic Miguel. And to clarify before we get into it, I don’t think deviation from the comics is a bad thing, and I love both versions. Also worth mentioning that at the time of writing this I've only read the original series from 1992, Dark Genesis, and a couple of the temporal crossover stories (which I'm considering non-canon for the sake of this discussion). I might make another post like this once I've finished all of them.
Starting off with story deviation there's... not a lot for me to really say here, since we don’t know much about movie Miguel’s backstory aside from the part where he accidentally caused a universe to collapse, so there’s not a lot to point out in terms of story deviation yet. However his personality and behavior is a little bit different. He’s more serious in the movie. Now Miguel has always been more serious than most other versions of Spiderman, but in the comics he’s still humorous. His humor just tends to be more sarcastic and cynical (think a bit like Deadpool) rather than the quips and wisecracks you usually get with Spiderman. He’s pessimistic and actually pretty mean, especially when not in his Spiderman alter ego. I'll admit I do miss his sarcasm in retrospect, but at the same time it wouldn't really suit the role the movie has set him up to play. Plus his characterization in the movie is still super good, and I like it a lot.
Miguel in the comics does tend to be a lot less bouncy and acrobatic than most other spidermen, and that definitely shows in the movie too. But the movie did something I personally love, and pushed that aspect further, and made him almost animalistic rather than just a Spiderman that fights a bit more close quarters. He’s intimidating, he’s brutal, every move has weight and power that you can feel through the animation. They kept the inertia of his movements in mind, something they do for all of the characters but is especially noticeable and fun with characters like Miguel who have a lot of force behind their movements (This is also why I love how The Prowler is animated so much). One of my highest praises for these movies is that every character has their own unique style, and Miguel’s fits him very well and stays true to the comics.
And the last point I'm going to talk about before jumping in to speculation is the powers. There's not a lot for me to say here either in regards to comparison, since we've not really gotten a chance to see how movie Miguel's powers work, but I still do want to address it because if it's the same as in the comics, then he's actually pretty unique! Makes sense, considering he didn't get them from the standard radioactive spider-bite (more on that later). I am sorry to say but he is (probably) not a vampire (I say probably because it's entirely possible he is in the movie. But assuming it's the same as the comics, he isn't actually a vampire, just looks like one, since judging by the fact that Blade is... around... vampires are real in his world). Do keep drawing him as a vampire tho its hot.
Anyway. He does have those fangs in the comics! He also has venom! As in the paralytic toxin spiders use to catch prey, not the character. Another thing that sets him apart is that he... doesn't seem to have a spider-sense? At all? He has super enhanced normal senses, but not that sort of extra sense that pretty much every other spiderman seems to have. I don't know if this is true in the movie but it would be sort of neat. He also isn't sticky! Instead he has those talons to hook onto surfaces, those are a part of him, not the suit. Unless they changed it in the movie which is the one and only change i think would be super lame. But since they gave him the fangs I doubt it. There is one noteworthy difference between his powers in the comic and the movie, and it's that in the movie his webs seem to be technology based, maybe some form of energy or hard light technology, while in the comics he has spinnerets in his arms. It could also be a mix of both, or that could just be how his natural webs look. Either way I'm curious why that change was made, even if it was as simple as just to fit the futuristic aesthetic.
Miguel's Backstory
Onto the next section! I'm going to do my best to give a brief recap of Miguel's backstory, for anyone who doesn't know it. For the sake of simplicity I'm going to assume that his backstory in the movie is more or less the same as in the original comics, up to the part where he goes to another universe.
In the year 2099, most major cities are controlled by the interests of oppressive mega-corporations. Nueva York, controlled by Alchemax and their corporate police, is literally divided between the Uptown and the Downtown, the uptown being the shining, sparkling futuristic city where all of the rich and important people live, while the downtown is the crumbling remains of New York that have been built over, where all of those deemed worthless by Alchemax are confined to.
Miguel O'Hara is the head of the genetics project in Alchemax's R&D branch, leading their efforts regarding gene splicing and genetic manipulation. Miguel is a snarky, standoffish man, who’s just generally a jerk to pretty much everyone. He has a soft spot for Dana, his fiance, Lyla, his apartment's AI companion, and Gabriel, his younger brother, and... that's about it. Despite his rather high position in the company, Miguel has a strong distaste for Alchemax and its unethical scientific practices, and is determined to delay human genetics testing until he's sure it's 100% safe. After his reservations are ignored by the higher ups, and hasty human testing leads to the death of a man under Miguel's unwilling hand, he decides to quit working for the company. However, he's a valuable asset. Tyler Stone, the head of Alchemax, laces a drink for Miguel with Rapture, a hallucinogenic drug that alters genetic structure to cause almost guaranteed addiction and withdrawal so severe it can be deadly. Coincidentally, Rapture is only legally produced and distributed by Alchemax.
Rather than let himself be manipulated, Miguel decided to use his own genetic modification equipment to attempt to reverse the alterations made by Rapture. During the procedure, Miguel's supervisor, resentful of Miguel's fast rise through the ranks and his constant disrespect for his superiors, sabotaged the process in an attempt to kill him. Instead he ended up activating the gene splicing program, and spliced Miguel and a spider together. Why was a spider present at all, you may ask? The final result of this genetic manipulation project was super-soldiers, and Miguel had decided to take inspiration from a certain hero back in the Heroic Age. Spider based enhancements seemed to work pretty well back then, why not give it another go?
After emerging from the process very much not dead, but no longer human, Miguel has to navigate new powers, and the new dangers that come with the mantle he's accidentally taken. It's around this point when Miguel starts to have thoughts of taking his own life, and pretty consistently continues to throughout the story.
I'm not giving a full recap, this story is already long and I don't remember specifics for most things. Miguel faces a myriad of villains, future versions of classic spiderman villains and new foes as well. He also takes over Alchemax after usurping Tyler Stone, which I'll touch on again later. But throughout all of it a consistent theme for him is loss. Over the course of the original comics, he loses almost everyone he has any kind of connection with, in one way or another.
He has a falling out with his fiance, Dana, and before he can try to reconnect, she gets caught in the crossfire during a fight with Venom and dies in his arms. He finally starts to repair his broken relationship with his mother, only for her to be shot during a raid on Alchemax after she started working as a secretary. Gabriel eventually becomes so overcome with resentment for Miguel that he takes up the mantle of Green Goblin, and attempts to ruin his life and also kill him. Xina, an old flame he was rekindling his relationship with, left him again without so much as a goodbye. The only one he has left to turn to for any sort of familiarity or comfort is Lyla, and even she tried to kill him once. He cuts himself off from everyone who tries to make a connection with him again, because he's convinced that being close to him leads to people hating him, dying, or both. Assuming Miguel's backstory is the same up to this point, he's already at the lowest he's ever been. And probably stays there until he and Lyla develop the technology to travel between universes. Here's where the speculation kicks in.
Miguel finds another universe like his own. Another universe with another Miguel O'hara, except this one never became Spider-man. And this one never lost all of the same people that the other did. He and Dana got married, they have a daughter. They're happy. Not only does he have proof that it isn't just being close to him that gets people hurt, he has an opportunity. Because this other Miguel is dead, and this other Miguel isn't Spider-man. He could take his place and be free of his own unhappiness, his own burdens, and save the inhabitants of this parallel world the pain of losing him. And for a brief time he's happy, he doesn't have to be Spider-man, he has a family and a life that isn't full of danger and loss. And then he loses it all again, and is left once again with nothing but the feeling that it is his fault.
Further speculation, I think that's probably why he's so caught up with "canon"; it means that the losses he faced were inevitable. It makes him feel just a little bit better, a little less guilty. Yes, he's trying to protect other universes from possibly meeting the same fate as the one he caused to collapse, but he's also trying to make himself feel better in the process, even if he doesn't realize it.
Theories
This bit is going to be mostly unstructured, since I don't have any huge theories, just certain smaller points or plot elements I think are going to happen.
Miguel’s ties to Alchemax are going to come up, and they’re going to be important.
Alchemax is a company that originated in the 2099 comics. There has to be a reason they chose it for the company in Into the Spiderverse, because there’s dozens of other evil companies they could’ve chosen. But they chose Alchemax, the company Miguel has ties to, and then they set him up as an antagonist. It's going to be brought up, and it's going to be important.
Miguel and Miles will relate to each other
I say this because they're both very much outliers. They aren't their world's original Spider-man, they both have different powers and backstories than the other Spider-men. I feel like this is going to be called out, both as a way to call out Miguel's hypocrisy, and as a way for Miles to relate to him and find common ground.
Miguel was injecting himself with a gene stabilizer, or with something Rapture related
I know I'm not the first person to suggest the first part of this point. It makes sense--we know that the mutations from the spider DNA didn't all happen immediately. I also can't imagine that having your genome that dramatically altered is very good for you. I haven't seen anyone suggest the second part, but I think that's probably because it's not seeming very likely at this point. I don't want to rule out the possibility, though.
Peter B is going to be important to resolving the storyline with Miguel/Have a heart to heart with him
During the movie I got the sense that Peter B is trying to befriend Miguel, or at least to get him to open up a bit more. I think this is because he sees himself in Miguel. Yes, they're very different, but they're similar in ways that matter. Peter B looks at Miguel and he sees someone who's given up; on his principles, on his role, on his own life. Peter B has never been openly suicidal like Miguel, but before he met Miles he was still very much in the same spot. He had still given up on his ideals, on being Spider-man, and he made the choice to stay and destroy the collider not for a noble reason, but because he didn't care if he died. I think that Peter has recognized that same mentality in Miguel, and is trying to reach out to pull him back from that edge, like Miles did for him. I think the two of them have a lot of potential for some heartfelt interaction, and I hope I'm picking up on something that's actually there and intentional.
So that's pretty much it! This post is a lot more ramble-y and unstructured than I wanted it to be, but it was really just a way for me to get my thoughts out.

Some bits I wrote about Across The Spider-verse (mostly in response to Schnee's Analysis videos) +some:
i LOVED everything about Hobie Brown. His name, his free-spirited energy. His design, his role in the story Like, no smudge- cuz I know the movie was setting him up to be a love-triangle competitor--, but when Hobie crashed through the field Miles was struggling with, I felt RELIEF. Like. Miles was struggling to breathe, and Hobie just came in with a strong pat on the back and opened a window.
Almost literally.
He smashed open a window for some fresh air.
He could have easily been a joke-book comedic relief char, (but in this movie, everyone is :,D), but his humor is relevant humor, like you pointed out it pokes at what's going on, it's based in things that are relevant. It's funny for reasons that matter instead of just being shock-humor or ironic timing. He's a masssive relief to all the grim seriousness of the the rest of the movie's characters. Even when he's being serious like, I remember he literally just told Gwen or Miles or whoever "Just make your own watch". But he said it so lightly that it was easy to brush off as something with little thought put into it. Being rebellious is so natural to Hobie that self-enabling ideas are just common sense, and I love it.
Especially as someone who constantly struggles with self-limiting habits, I probably love him for the same reason I love Rock Lee from Naruto.

Miguel confused me at first. The fact that he was called a vampire, his brutish fighting style, his demeanor (Like Peter B. points out, he's joyless). His grandios ethos. I was thinking. "What exactly is spider-themed about this character?" I was thinking maybe he isn't a spiderman bc he's actually a werewolf or a vamp or something. But, then I saw the moment you Schnee shared in the comics, where Miguel shows his claws sticking out as a way to PROVE he's spiderman. And that's when I figured that his powers manifested differently than other Spider-men.
He has the body of a spider. Talons, venom, this hulking body and grizzly hair reminded me of a wolf spider or tarantula, he doesn't stick to things but uses claws (most bugs are so light that a little fiction is all they need to climb, unlike spidermen who have a geko-like stickyness to them that let's them MOVE like a spider would if they were as small and light as spiders), he's literally running as fast as a motorcycle (cuz indeed bugs are fast af) most other spidermen have the senses and reflexes of a spider (with some strength and invulnerability but, that's standard superhero stuff) And, really, knowing about the comics really broadens this theme:
Miguel wasn't even bitten by a spider, his story doesn't follow the same as other spider-men, he doesn't have any powers associated with spider-men (as far as I know) and I think that's why, after seeing all the other spider-men, he's so hard on Miles for being an anomaly. Miguel was so much different from the other spider-men and ended up destroying a Universe. And now he's projecting that catastrophic self image onto any spider-man that's different from the status quo. It's an unspoken "you're not so different, you and I" situation except it's purely in Miguel's head, bc Miguel doesn't want to admit that he's inherently different, like Miles, so he hyper-focuses on actions and events- which can be controlled and decided upon.
-
On the Cliffhanger:
I loved how they set up this twist though. The double-spiderman problem is something that the second movie brought up on its own. They created a problem based on lore that the audience wouldn't necessarily understand if they were'nt comic readers, (so it actually took me by surprise the same way it took Miles) and that is that there's a specific spider for each spider-man, who only bites one person, only creating one spider-man bc of webs-of-fate goddess or whoever choosing people to bite. So for Mile's world to have already had a spider-man when Miles was bitten, there was a world where the spider wasn't there to create spider-man.
And the movie not only mentions this world as a part of a dialogue tying into the theme of status quo's and supposed-to-be's (the villain trying to prove why his way is the right way), but takes us TO that very world via mechanics (not chance), and then reveals it to the audience using a visual language taught to the audience (glitching) as opposed to words, that is also its own threat (dying). So, Miles was finally away from the threat of the spider society, only to throw himself at a new threat that isn't even the initial threat but directly tied to the story's themes, and having to confront the reality (not just the theory) of Miguel's words with his new resolution of self-determination. Not ONLY that but I loved Uncle Arron, he was someone who inspired our protagonist and comforted him, but he was also a villain who hurt people for money. So it's a bittersweet entrance, when Arron walks in. We see Miles get to hug him, but at the same time, we know that Arron was dangerous and the movie frames him walking into the house as a dangerous event. There's just so much to this twist to love.
-
On Spot:
I love that they progressively make Spot's body shape more and more iconic with the shoulder tilt and the apple body-type taper. At first, especially bc of his amature, akward demeanor (He moves like he just stepped of a cold shower, c'mon) I was really put off like, not looking forward to seeing akward floor rolling and stumbling between this guy and Miles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He did not look like a threat with those arms dude. And u'know maybe that was on purpose! It does, actually. Miles literally laughs at him, fighting him while texting.
But they really turned it into a look, and I appreciate that. That's good shit dude, like, it really was just how he strut it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm a fan.
Like, he really snatched that spice.
-
Overall though, I loved how this Movie leans into its theme. It demonstrates the conflict, it demonstrates the mindsets, it makes it's problems and complications realities, not just theories or dialogue. The humor is like- I love it so much.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out Schnee's analysis if you haven't already, if you're into that. I know I'd love to write stories like this.

I have so many ideas for my nu spider au (nusau) it's almost hurting me.
Timmy is the friendly neighborhood spiderman, typical high school story like Gwen or Miles. Parents disowned him and he ran away to live with his aunt and uncle Wanda and Cosmo, whom are filthy rich and can buy Timmy anything he wishes for. However he was never given anything as a little kid so he doesn't ask for things, standard neglect, but they do pay his rent and sometimes groceries for him.
Jimmy is doc oct for obvious reasons. But also I think that its fun for the angst to have Timmy and Jimmy be besties/bfs. Plus it was so easy to make the Mary Jane and James connection, I might change his last name tho just to simplify it and make it even more similar.
Danny is Timmy's cousin, he lives very far away. I think it would be interesting to have him visit Timmy for a short while and they both discover that the other has spider powers, but Danny's powers function more like venom than your textbook spider. (Jimmy possibly making the symbiote?)
Bob is the owner of the restaurant under Timmy's apartment. They are good friends and one day he caught Timmy sneaking back into his room while still in costume, since sponge is very nice he's keeping his secret. As well as letting him have things for free for protecting him.
Chester & AJ are essentially like his 'guy(s) in the chair'. AJ's family are friends with Timmy's aunt & uncle because they're rich, and as a result he can use money to cover Timmy's tracks and pay off the police. Chester is the hype man.
Sheen & Carl are Jimmy's school friends, they aren't aware he's doc oct but they know he does have a job being a scientist. Timmy talks to them during class sometimes, they think he's very cool and Timmy thinks they're judging him. (They possibly become villains later bc of doc oct experimenting on them)
These are all ideas tho and I wana hear other ppls ideas

wait what has the reaction to amazing spiderman been? trying to contextualise your post
Okay so for a little context, in 2022 there was a new volume of Amazing Spider-Man primarily written by writer Zeb Wells (Who is really really good by the way, If you want to get into X-Men comics, I highly recommend reading House of X/Powers of X and then just reading all of Hellions, It's really really good. It's all of the good parts of Suicide Squad stuff with none of the bad parts) that is pretty good but in it at the beginning everybody's really really mad at Peter for reasons that haven't been explained and Mary Jane is with another guy, Paul. It gets revealed that one day Peter and Mary Jane basically got sucked into a pretty standard alternate dimension where time moves faster than in the real world. It's also shitty and post-apocalyptic, but in it they meet Paul who's like a normal guy who has been surviving in the alternate dimension for a while for stupid comic book reasons Paul saves Peter from a no-win situation by using the one escape like button or whatever. I don't remember back to the real dimension. Peter was only in the ultimate dimension for like 30 minutes but a week has passed so he realizes what's going on and alienates everybody who cares about him in the mad rush to try to rescue Mary Jane as quick as possible. He makes some dumb moves but I think like it's pretty clearly telegraphed that he's just trying to work as fast as possible and isn't thinking straight but in a couple of days he manages to reverse engineer the button with the help of Norman Osborne who is good now I guess I'm not really up to date on my Spider-Man lore. I mostly just read this because I really really like the writer. And anyways he rescues Paul and Mary Jane and also the kids they adopted. Please don't worry about the kids. I do not want to get into the kids and I quite frankly don't understand the kids. They're not important. But anyways, because of the time dilation Paul and Mary Jane have been surviving in the post-apocalyptic hell dimension for like years and years and Mary Jane eventually like got over. Peter and got with Paul but even though Peter knows that it's been years, he doesn't feel it and there's like an argument and Paul punches Peter and like there's an arc about Peter like learning to get on with Mary Jane, even though she's his ex and he's just sort of growing as a person and getting over the really dark place he was in and all the people he alienated it's good.
The reaction has been most importantly people being really really nasty to the writer and the artist and just horrible generally. Even the people who aren't like forming a hate brigade for the real life person, they've been really nasty about like Paul's "stealing" Peter's girl and being weird and incel-ly about Mary Jane and just not shutting up about Paul being Spider-Man's greatest villain. I'm going to have to snort grass to counteract writing this post. But I do it for you, my beloved audience.

Uncanny X-men #197- To Save Arcade?!?
Again, not doing a full review. Don't want to talk about Piotr and Kitty's relationship again. See my last post.
Tumblr media
Last Issue Recap: The X-men foiled an assassination attempt on Professor X, who is hiding his failing health and powers. A reformed Magneto and Rachel had a heart to heart. Kitty Pryde said the N-word.
What is with this trend of every issue title having a million punctuation marks? This cover is definitely a step up from the last two by sheer virtue of the scene on the cover actually happening in the issue. Honestly it feels very nostalgic, all the X-men are in their old uniforms, Cyclops and Storm are back, and they're fighting Doom again
Tumblr media
Damn if he really goes through pajamas that much he should just grab some extra blankets and sleep in the nude because that has to be more convenient.
By the way, for all y'all who don't know who Arcade is (so, most people), he's an old X-men villain-for-hire whose schtick was like... killer escape rooms. Like he has this absurdly OTT lair called Murderworld and its sort of like Saw except instead of dingy white tiles and rusty spiky shit he's got absurdly realistic robots and holographs other magitek.
Tumblr media
Also he dresses like this.
So, TLDR, Dr Doom put a hit out on Arcade and he's kidnapped recruited Kitty and Colossus to protect him, with the assistance of his giant army of X-men robots.
Tumblr media
Also, it feels like the comic is trying to gaslight me into believing that's Colossus' uniform and always has been but I remember that slutty sideboob too well, you can't fool me.
I love how fucked up Marvel civilians are. When Spiderman accidentally sneezes on someone he's a menace who must be gunned down but when a pink robot who can disguise himself as any human brutally vaporizes two robbers in cold blood he's bigger than hula hoops.
Tumblr media
Goddamnit they pulled the old "Actually a Doombot" retcon on the original Avenger's confrontation with Doom in X-men #145-7, which is just bullshit because I actually liked that story. Also, I refuse to believe it took practically the whole team three issues to defeat a Doombot but the real deal can be taken out by a literal child and the X-men's least impressive punchy guy in one. Ok, headcanon time, Arcade is lying to freak out Piotr and Kitty so they'll take this more seriously.
NGL its kind of rough to repeatedly see the X-men horrifically murdered by Doom, even if their organs are just robot bits.
Tumblr media
You could just kill him. I mean, he's right there. I'm honestly super shocked Arcade followed through and let them go though.
All in all didn't like this issue. All of Piotr and Kitty's interactions make me uncomfy even when they're not still actively flirting (*shudder*). Also, the Murderworld was overall pretty bland by Murderworld standards. The X-men robots and not knowing which Kitty/Colossus was a robot and which was the real deal was an interesting gimmick but the fight only took place in one set piece which fails like a waste of a good Murderworld. On the bright side:
Tumblr media
STORM'S ALIVE! Glad they didn't keep us hanging for too long.
(oh btw also Cyclops is temporarily rejoining the team to help Prof X but the scene of him saying goodbye to Madeline Prior was too wholesome for me to make jokes about so I skipped it).

This is not a shallow post, honest
Reading Thor-era MCU fic of late I noticed that a few writers drew attention to Loki being very covered-up clothingwise, and at first I was like "...is he?" because he's not abnormally covered compared to men you might see in the street, but he is by MCU standards, isn't he? Not that I've bothered to been able to check before writing this post, but I feel on fairly safe ground saying that most of the MCU Leading Men had got their tits out shirtless by about the end of the second Avengers film, or failing that had spent much of their screentime wandering about in unusally tight t-shirts. By contrast Loki doesn't even have naked arms until... whenever. When he got shirtless in the Loki show (thanks for the confusing title there, Marvel, it makes discussions so much easier) it was because a robot...thing?? stripped him, not because he decided to do it himself. And I, of course, have A Theory about this, based on not much more than conjecture. Don't worry, though, I shall include some pics in this 'essay' to keep things lively and entertaining.
Hang on, I need to Google something.
This is taking longer than I expected it to. Please wait.
Okay, fuck it, this'll do. Sorry for not having sufficent sensible images of these characters on my PC.
Tumblr media
Okay, so: an attempt has been made. Not in a meme way, I mean I do think an attempt has been made in these films to make one of these men look smaller than the other even though the difference isn't as vast as fanfic turned it into. You know how in fic Loki's at least a foot shorter than Thor and all skinny and weedy and whatever? I reckon this partly comes from the fact that in terms of plot and character it does kind of make sense that Loki ought to look like he does in fanfiction. He should be weaker-looking, a bit shorter, a bit - dare one say - "drowned rat" next to Thor Whose Power Is He Carries A Big Hammer And We Go On About Him Being A Warrior. We invent a contrast because it feels like there's more of one than there actually is on screen. We all know what the wee shifty one should look like! If he doesn't actually look like that then we'll just say that he does!
And in costuming terms Loki is dressed in black (slimming! slenderising!), with diagonal stripes (narrowing!), a quite strangely-tailored flappy coat (significant in some way! i assume!). His shoulders are less emphasied, the arms that we later learn are fairly muscular are fully covered to hide any obnoxious biceps, and aside from maybe a bit of neck skin showing (whoreish!) we shall see naught of his actual body - he will not be getting his tits out shirtless until such time as he gets his own show and exists not in contrast to Big Beefy Thor but - at last! - as a proper MCU Leading Man. Because as soon as Loki gets kidnapped by the TVA, this happens:
Tumblr media
No wait I didn't mean that one I don't even have that one on my PC why would I have that one of course I don't have it pretend you didn't see that.
I mean this happens:
Tumblr media
Oh no, normie clothes! Normie clothes being a shirt with the traditional 'Marvel Dudes in shirts' fit (ie: a bit too tight) and the sleeves rolled up, and there's a tie (a TIE! how standardly manly!) and I reckon there are two factors at work here, aside from the aforementioned "we no longer need to pretend this man is short and weedy" thing:
Yes, they have made him look "normal." I know it's a common complaint and sometimes a bit... fervently expressed, but I do think it's a valid point. This show has obviously been made for a 'casual viewer' to some extent. They've seen some of the MCU, and they might feel a bit odd about everyone wearing capes all the time. Let's be real here: the Marvel-nerd audience was already going to be watching this show anyway. The people who know how many Spidermans (Spidermen? Spidersmans?) there are, and who can name well over two of the Avengers. Some of the aesthetics have been changed to appeal more to the 'casual' people, I do think that's what's happened here. (But as one of those people who can't tell you the correct plural of "Spiderman" I don't mind it. It worked! Here I am! Annoying everyone with my noobness! Hi!)
...shit what was the second thing again? Dang it, I've forgotten. Sorry about this, give me another moment to get my thoughts back together.
Oh, that was it: this is now the man we want the audience to think is hot. Some of them did before but we didn't necessarily want them to. And yes I agree that is a bit insulting, given that they did not cast an uggo here. Or even someone short and scrawny. On which point...
I don't want to say they should have cast someone who already looked they way they dressed him to look because obviously that all seems to have worked out perfectly fine in the end, but they could have. In some ways it is an odd choice, worthy of being remarked upon in long rambling tumblr posts that didn't have anywhere near as many photos as were promised earlier on. (Sorry about that.) There's a bit of a mismatch going on here between someone my granny might have called "a sneaky wee bastard" and someone she'd describe as "a six-footer." And this is why in a lot of fanfic this has been... shall we say 'corrected' in some way.
(Not-quite-an-aside: in fic that is specifically about the Loki show and not the other bits of the MCU, Loki usually does not shrink in height and width. This, I would argue, is partly because of the different visual reference points (AKA "we've seen his tits him in relatively revealing clothing") and partly because he's being paired off with different characters, and neither of the usual two (Mobius and Sylvie) are being contrasted as physically stronger than him. If anything those fic writers tend to go on about how tall he is. And now I'll stop before I say anything about obvious height-difference kinks and the fact that yes, your readers have noticed.)
In conclusion,
