i wanna be perfectly clear that i felt nothing for the stark trek unification video besides contempt for the CGI and the potato quality of it on my phone, until i realized that lump on the bed was spock.
y’all idk what i was expecting when my friend sent me the link describing it as “destiel confirmed but for spirk” but i was not expecting the sweet bliss of two men irrevocably bound by destiny staring off into the sunset as they go towards death together
that’s when they got me, because spock fucking deserves nice things and to not die alone in a universe far from his own.
not to mention kirk’s own death in canon. i am officially headcannoning that kirk appeared to spock in his final moments via some weird magic with the nexus and then they went together peacefully.
also the fact that this was titled “unification” and not “reunification,” that’s very sweet, very mindful, very demure as they tear out my heart and remind me of the promise of spirk to see each other again across space and time.
but also, not to be ungrateful to the very clear amount of money by the cgi thrown at this. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO GET THIS. and the fact that we’re all going so feral over two men holding hands staring off into the sunset without them ever saying an entire word. this was not in my 2024 bingo card

even though the bad parent captain marvel thing is resolved, i'd still love some more scenarios from the JL's pov of marvel's 'bad' parenting. ONLY if you WANT to do it, if you dont then just ignore this request lol
like him telling freddy or mary to 'fuck off' or swear at them in general and threaten to steal their stuff or blackmail them (like normal siblings do -coming from a middle child with two siblings)
or maybe they hear freddy and mary ranting about marvel and they JL misinterprets their sibling rivalry as abuse
Marvel is a terrible parent. The JL knows it. It just flabbergasts them every time they see or hear about it because Marvel is literally the nicest person ever so why does he hate his kids?
Junior and Mary: *walking down a hallway in the Watchtower while complaining about Marvel*
Mary: “Says you. He was chasing me around with a darn stick trying to beat me yesterday.”
Junior: “You don’t have the right to complain. At least you could run.”
Mary: “I guess but Pedro was carrying you so you could get away too. So I think I have to right to complain.”
Flash: *had the unfortunate displeasure of hearing that*
Now why was a grown man running around after his kids and trying to beat them with a stick? Also what did Cap do to make it so that Junior couldn’t run away?? Flash knew he was magic, so he was hoping he just used some magic to bind his legs or something. Speaking of Junior…
Junior: *annoying Marvel*
Marvel: *looking more increasingly annoyed* “Junior. Please take five steps back from me before I decide to slap the shit out of you.”
Supes: *immediately looks over to them*
Junior: “No you won’t. You’re chicken-”
Marvel: *literally raises his hand to do it*
Supes: *looks extremely concerned*
Junior: *immediately shuts up*
Marvel: “Yeah that’s what I thought.”
Junior: “Bastard.”
Marvel: “You’re a bastard too. Anyways, want lunch?”
Junior: “Yeah, tacos.”
Clark got a little whiplash from the quick change of topic. Though, that entire interaction really does enforce that he does not care for these kids. It’s so unfortunately obvious. Another example of him not caring was when Marvel and the silver one were sent to go examine a cave on a deserted planet.
Marvel and Eugene: *staring at the ominous cave*
Marvel: *walks behind Eugene* “Well… go on.” *pushes him forward to the cave*
Eugene: “What do you mean go on?! I’m not gonna sacrifice myself for you!”
Marvel: “But we’re family.”
Eugene: “So? I’m not fighting a dang Xenomorph if one pops out.”
Marvel: “Don’t worry. We’ll fight it together.” *continued to push him, but is thankfully walking with him*
Batman saw this entire interaction when he was reviewing to body cams he forced the two to wear. Who just pushes their son into danger like that? He needed to have a talk with Marvel about his parenting.
Pedro: “Hey, which of us is your favorite?”
Marvel: *almost immediately* “Mary and Darla.”
Pedro: “Mary and Darla- why them?? Darla was eating crayons just the other day, and Mary is Mary.”
Marvel: “Okay and…? They’re still my favorites?”
GL: “Wait, who’s Darla?”
Marvel: “The purple one.”
At least he likes the purple one, Darla? They haven’t seen a negative interaction between her and Cap yet. Emphasis on yet.

Clark Pines AU random headcanons
-sometimes Stan and Ford pull the "switch clothes and talk differently to see if anyone can tell the difference" trick to mess with the twins, and they fall for it a solid 35% of the time, but Clark never falls for it because he can hear their hearts and Ford's heart is FUCKED UP due to the gazillion volts of electricity he got during weirdmageddon
-Clark almost didn't go to college to stay and work at the Shack and maybe convince his dad to finally let him help with the portal, but Stan recognized Clark was smart af and didn't want Clark to be held back for his sake. And then Stan had twenty crises in a row when it came time for Clark to actually Go To College
-Clark has to wear (reading) glasses but he doesn't like the feel of them so he usually just carries them around and wears them as infrequently as possible. And then his entire secret identity becomes "put on glasses" so he has to wear them all the time and he's REALLY MAD about it
-Clark was originally going to college for some sort of mechanics/engineering degree, but once he left Gravity Falls, he realized just how weird his hometown is. Like, he was theoretically aware, but the guy lived there his whole life. He left a few times to visit the twins and their parents or for miscellaneous other reasons but he never really lived outside of Gravity Falls for any amount of time. So it kinda hits him how different The Real World (for lack of a better term) is, and he decides to switch to communications/journalism major instead. Also, he was not very good at engineering.
-The Mystery Twins are approximately the same age as Robin!Dick so they become pretty good friends over the years. Mabel has a gigantic insane crush on Dick and Dick has a tiny baby crush on Dipper and everybody is oblivious about everything except for Bruce and Clark, who have to silently suffer together about the situation until everyone gets over it.
-Dipper gets really into magic and spells and stuff as he gets older so he becomes Clark's go-to "there's weird shit happening and it's not the genre I usually deal with" person. It isn't his life's work like with Constantine or Zatanna, so he isn't a JLDark member or anything, but he definitely Knows Some Shit.
-I'm cooking something along the lines of "Mabel becomes the youngest congresswoman ever at age 18" simply because I think it would be funny and because nobody ever acknowledges how that one frozen president technically made Mabel a congresswoman in that one episode.
-You know how Jon Kent is named that after Clark's Canon Dad Jonathan Kent? Clark tries to name his kid "Stan" after his dad and uncle and both Stanley and Stanford are like don't you FUCKING dare, we have enough Stans in this family, please give your son a better name dear god
-When the Young Justice team (yj98, NOT yjtv) forms, there's a running bit where they keep fucking running into either Mabel or Dipper on every other mission, except none of them know they're Superman's cousins so they think these two weirdos are trying to do Evil Stuff when in fact they're just living their lives, and these lives happen to be absolutely insane enough to keep crossing over with teenage superhero shenanigans.

Tag game: tag nine people you’d like to know better.
Tagged by: @oneshoulderangel (Thank you for tagging me!)
Last song: At the moment, I have "Losing Your Memory" by Alan Star stuck in my head, which I suppose makes it my current song, not my last song. Hm. I get songs stuck in my head very easily, but the last one I had there for a significant amount of time was a mashup of different language versions of "Les Rois du Monde" for about a week. "Lehetsz Király", the Magyar version, is probably my favorite of them. It's worth a listen.
Currently watching: Normally, the answer would be "random mostly terrible old movies/shows" or "nothing much", but I currently have a hyperfixation on the musical Roméo et Juliette and have been watching it in multiple languages. (Thus, the song).
Three ships: This is hard. Maybe as a result of being on the ace and aro spectrums, I'm more likely to care about which characters are interacting than whether it's romantic or platonic. Here goes:
Kedivere/Bedikay. It can be romantic, platonic, or queerplatonic, but whichever way, I'm here for it. I probably spend too much time thinking about how in Cullwch and Olwen, when Cai gets mad at Arthur and marches out, Bedwyr stays behind, keeps acting like nothing's happened, and isn't the one to avenge Cai's death. The feeling of betrayal on both sides has a lot of unexplored potential. And the version where Bedivere dies and Kay fights to bring his body back safely while mortally wounded himself... And the version where Bedivere survives Camlann and Kay isn't said to fight in it, so they might be left together after their world has fallen apart...
Platonically or queerplatonically, Galahad and the Grail Heroine. I really like the tragic Grail Quest friendships, but I like theirs most, maybe because there's something weird and otherworldly about them both. I like it when characters are strange and endearing and doomed by the narrative.
Ever since reading John Matthews' retelling, which I read before the original, I've had a soft spot for Caradoc and Guinier. The Story of Caradoc is very disturbing, and I have some major qualms with Caradoc over a detail Matthews cut out, but all the same, there's a reason these two have the best track record with magical fidelity tests. Each of them would go to the ends of the earth for the other, and together, they're stronger than any curse.
Favorite Color: Blue, particularly royal blue and some teals.
Currently consuming: Black licorice with chocolate.
First ship: This is a hard one, since through elementary and most of middle school, I tended to go along with whatever I thought the author's intentions were and was more likely to unship something. The first non-endgame ship I got invested in was Sonya/Nikolai in War and Peace. I didn't like Nikolai, but Sonya did, and she was my favorite character, so I wanted her to be happy. The first non-canon couple I thought was meant to be together was also in War and Peace: Marya Bolkonskaya and Julie Karagina. My eighth grade self did not think their letters could be interpreted platonically. I still don't.
Last movie: If the musical doesn't count, the last movie I watched was Quest for Camelot, which was awful. Though not Robot Monster-level bad, Robot Monster has an elegance to its simplicity which Quest for Camelot lacks.
Currently working on: Various fics, most of them Arthuriana or CotRK-related (I am woefully behind on the Badfic Bingo), and (theoretically) an epic-style poem, though I haven't gotten much of it written for quite a while now.
Tagging: @gawrkin, @emperorcandy, @wildbasil, @gorewound, @knightsofsomethingorother, @ladyminaofcamelot, @tasosotaso, @amashelle, @gingersnaptaff (I have no idea who's been tagged so far, apart from the people on @oneshoulderangel's post, so I apologize for any multi-tags)
#tagging game#I might have rushed this but I was worried I was going to spend a long time overthinking it if I didn't#I have one ask for a theme song for Kay from the Spring which I still haven't answered#despite having a whole playlist for him#because I'm not sure any of the songs are good enough and after all this time the stakes seem higher#It was an anon too so the chances are the person will never see it at this point#I'm counting this getting posted as a rare win for non-perfectionism

I had a dog, Athena, who was obsessed with these rubber pigs that make noise se when you squeeze them. She'd carefully carry them around, gently boop them to make the noise, and cuddle with them. Athena has some health issues that meant she often had days where she felt really bad, and she'd always gather up her multiple pigs to cuddle for comfort. She loved those pigs.
When we got another dog, Burt, she diligently taught him to be gentle with the pigs. To not wrestle with them or risk breaking them. They would certainly play with them together, running around playing keep away. But it was always very careful compared to their other toys. Beyond that however, Burt never bothered much with the pigs.
Athena unfortunately passed away rather young, a consequence of her health issues. And after she passed, we got another dog, Briar. Briar never met Athena, never learned anything from her directly. Nevertheless, Briar seems to have taken up Athena's love for those pigs. I'm sure Burt taught her to be gentle with them, that they are special. But Briar also goes to the pigs for comfort. She treats them like babies, the way Athena used to. She carefully arranges them in a nest and snuggles them when she's feeling bad.
And it's just so magical to me. These two dogs who never met, connected through their joint comfort found in these silly little pig toys.
#fire flails through time and space#Me being Emotions randomly#I know there's obvious reasons they both could come to the same conclusion#But it feels meaningful#Athena's death hit the family hard#And it's nice to see things of her carried on

Seven knew Piper was one of the special ones. No matter how many paramours Pierre went through he could tell Piper was different to him, just like he and Zero were different to him. Seven never was about calling anyone the one or putting people in some ranked order. What he knew was what he saw. Piper meant something to Pierre. He and Zero were his best bros for a reason and that was that, just like Brigette had a way of being special to them all too when she was alive. There were just some people that stood out.
Zero was feeling that kind of special right then. When Pierre said he'd be sandwiched soon it was all he could to do hold back from howling as he gave a little yes jump in his stride as they walked. Memories filled his mind of lazy days in bed, the smell of weed in the air mixed with Seven and Pierre's cologne totally spent. The tv would be on and nobody would be paying attention it all hands on him petting him in the afters. The two best friends he ever a guy could ever want. He stood there with a dreamy face for quite a while after that. Those were the days.
Piper laughed out right. "Okay. Yes. I missed the mane." She even reached up to run her hands through both sides. She couldn't quit smiling either.
Clotho, the blonde had a way of being pulled in the most by the beautiful compliment. They were nothing less than the Sanderson Sisters by comparison. There was no black flame candle needed, but they were the sort to do what needed to be done when their age was showing. It was probably noted over the years of knowing Seven that they might look more washed out at times, even grey, and then show up rather revived and youthful again the next time. But it was Clotho who held youth dearest to her heart.
"I'm feeling rather ravishing, thank you. You always were a favorite friend of Seven's to me." Oh yes, she'd return the compliment in the most self-indulgent way. "You were a boy that always noticed, but how could you not?" Oh yeah, she was feeling good tonight. "We'll all be glad to have you back, my boy."
Piper, who did not know the Fate sisters until recently could only marvel at the interaction and think it made sense now why Seven was the way he was surrounded by such personalities. She never once imagined people might look at her and dissect Kuzco and Clopin and think all her mysteries were unlocked.
Everything was explained to Pierre and despite it appearing as if it might have rattled him that Seven was going first, everyone held strong.
This was it.
The moments ticked and the moments tocked after Piper and Seven disappeared into the magic of the string.
Zero continued to shift involuntarily in his nervousness. So, Pierre would keep feeling the change of a full body to the wisp of cold holding onto him. No matter the form Zero didn't let go. Pierre was his grounding stone. It was anxiousness, but it was also excitement. The longer it took the antsier he got and it was harder to hold still. Zero's energy was amped to a wattage he could barely contain making his hips shake. All the things he kept inside that were pent up as he held onto Pierre's side just burst out of his mouth in one big roll like periods were never invented for sentences much less breaths.
"I'm-sorry I never visited you on the other side even though I could I really wanted to sometimes I just couldn't do it again I just couldn't do it not again I've done it before searching and searching for a lost friend and I guess they didn't want to be found because I never found them and I couldn't feel that way again I just couldn't I couldn't feel like I wasn't wanted again I was scared I was just fucking scared not of the other side just of that feeling I feel it so much and I just really want to be sandwiched okay?"
His way of saying he used to feel wanted when Pierre and Seven were alive. Being a loyal as a dog best friend is hard when he's been the dog people left in the woods like they were going for a walk together but ran not realizing he was being ghosted, pun intended.
Then right when he got his final words out and as he was searching Pierre's face for a reaction and finally taking a big breath Seven and Piper reappeared.
Zero's eyes turned first. A smile started to grow. He turned completely tangible.
Seven stood there with that oh so Seven smile.
"Oh that was fun, mates."
He kept moving his hands and his fingers trying to feel the difference than before. Zero ran for him. Everyone was hugging him. His mothers were in the way. It left Zero bouncing on the outside until Seven pulled him.
Piper shook her head at all of it.
"We don't have time for this. Come on Pierre. Your turn. Welcome homes later. We're on a clock." Then she put out her hand.
Seven heard that and went, "Go, go, go!"
Seven's mothers were quick to get on their duty pulling a cut and very dead looking string along with a live string as the crunch for time set in. Piper would grab his hand. The same procedures would run with the twist of the hourglass.
Then the next thing Pierre would know he'd see himself and Piper before them through the view of a cracked door.
In a bath.
Intimate.
Music was coming from another source outside of that room. Violins.
The Piper that was still holding his hand pulled down fast to hide. "Shh." She clued him in quick to be quiet as they stayed hunkered down behind the crack of a closet door. They were in some sort of castle interior. A roaring fire was crackling. She whispered quite soft, "We don't want to be seen." Still, she couldn't help but smile. "Guess we're attracted to one another in every universe."
Turning an hourglass was never an exact science in comparison to a clock. She was close. She'd been here so many times to practice. She knew there was a little time to pass before their big moment. Time to tell Pierre the plan.
"We have to wait for just the right moment. We're going to live body snatch and leave your dead body in this time just seconds before the moment of your death here, so it doesn't disrupt much of the timeline. We steal it while it's still alive. They were about to be dead here anyway. Your job is to possess it when I say. It will leave your tangible earth walking Halloween body here. Then you come home with your own body. For now, we wait."
It was the same instructions she gave to Seven. He'd stolen another body from another timeline and left his tangible Halloween body in its stead. When the night ended there and it decayed faster than normal or disappeared it might seem a mystery to those left behind, but the people themselves were going to be dead anyway. If she pulled a person from their death and switched them out the Fates already knew they were able to step into a new universe and continue to thrive. These were magics that skirted darker ethics Piper had been learning from the Fates in secrecy because secrecy was part of the vow she took to be able to learn them. It was very Geppeto and Willem when it came to respect of their darker arts.
She'd look back at the pair in the water and smirk. Then she'd look at her deceased friend beside her. "Self porn. Who knew you could watch it live?"
“Real sex, real sex, real sex,” Pierre started up a little chant, pumping his hand up in the air like he was some sort of ringmaster in a circus. That’s one of the things that he missed the most, and he wasn’t ashamed to say it.
“Man, I miss that girl,” He said, knowing that he had fucked it up with her forever that day that the Laveaus had stormed upon his house. That’s what it had felt like. An assault. A complete siege, with his mother and sister saying that they were leaving, packing their things, and his father just being an asshole and nodding, letting it happen. Though he did regret how it went down, he didn’t regret being the only one that was fighting for his family to stay together. Big lot of good that did. There was no family anymore.
He’d caught sight of her for a moment at the ball, but hadn’t dared approach, not that he had the time. Piper had been the one to claim all of it, and then gave him strict orders to meet her by the tree, which he was following, though perhaps a little more leisurely than she might have liked.
He moved up behind Zero, and put his hands on his hips, dancing his fingers over the jutting hipbones. He always was a skinny little guy. The picture-perfect definition of a twink. “Of course, pup. You’re going to be sandwiched in no time,” He promised.
He only let go of his boys when Piper took over his attention again. She had a way of doing that, of drawing all eyes to her. Like the rest of the world could be entirely blocked out, he was scoped right in. He wrapped his arms around her, thin waist and all, as she seemed to groom him, making him chuckle. “You missed the mane, didn’t you?” He teased lightly, holding her closer, nuzzling his nose against her cheek and kissing it.
“Wouldn’t miss this for the world,” He said, eagerly, his dark eyes looking into her bright violet. The most beautiful eyes that he had ever seen, he would attest to that. No other ones had ever compared to the shocking color, made all the more bright and beautiful in contrast with her skin tone, and the naturally dark lashes that she had.
He looked over her shoulder at Seven who was getting all of the hugs from his mothers, and he chuckled, pulling back a little from Piper but he kept his arm around her, like he was scared of disappearing again. Which he was. Another year of waiting for this kind of communication, for this kind of chance? It would feel like an eon down there.
“Ahh, you know,” He laughed, keeping it casual with Seven’s moms. “The humidity isn’t great for the hair but I can’t say I ever got bored. Good to see you three ladies, looking as beautiful and youthful as ever.”
The moms huddled and Pierre looked back down towards Piper. “So you really figured out a way to bring us back? You’re … incredible,” He said, breathing heavily. Of course it was Piper. And he was confident enough in himself to believe that he was her first choice to do this with. But it still blew his mind that all of this was happening, and so fast.
He listened to the instructions and he felt a little nervous too that Seven was going to be going first. What if something went wrong? What if they couldn’t do it, and Pierre would have to return to Hell alone because Seven was put into some sort of limbo? He had to breathe again and he nodded towards his friend, his Hell-mate. “You got this, dude. And of course, Piper and Pierre, we can do anything.”
He nodded towards Piper though, understanding. Wait your turn. He wasn’t generally good at that but he could wait in this circumstance. “I’ll be good and patient, don’t worry,” He said, putting on his most charming grin.
He was reluctant to let Piper go too, though it was to help Seven. He’d keep a hand on her, squeezing hers, and then lightly touching her fingertips with his own until she was too far away to do so. Was he braver than before like the women were hinting? In some ways, perhaps. Time would tell. He may still do a Scooby-Doo jump into whoever was closest if there was ever a jumpscare, or seeing one of the fates with their hair in rollers and a green facemask. But he was going through with this, which was much scarier.
“I’ll be here,” He said, again. When Zero came to take Piper’s place, he put his arm around Zero’s shoulders, pulling him in closer. He kept it stiff, for when Zero went into his ghostly form, letting it hang on the air, until he became a little more corporeal again.
Pierre wasn’t changing his mind. No - he was watching intently, with wide eyes, one arm still out and the other going through his hair, like a comforting habit, pushing it up and out of his face.

Fic: Something to Sink Your Teeth Into 25/?
Pairing: Buck/Tommy
Vampire/Witch!AU
Read on AO3 (current chapter)
Read on AO3 (from beginning)
Tommy knew he should be more worried than he was.
He could almost hear Sal screaming at him that he was being an idiot, could picture Lucy’s disappointed face as she asked him what the hell he was thinking.
He’d known Evan was a powerful witch, even taking his banishment into account. That had been obvious from the start. But Evan had admitted that there was more to it than just the fact that he was from an old and powerful coven line. He was quite literally twice as powerful as any of the other witches in his coven—had absorbed his brother’s magic in a ritual that was so forbidden, the few people who knew about it thought it would destroy their entire coven if it got out that Evan’s parents had used it.
Mmhmm, the scary powerful witch whose family obviously knows how to use dark magic, who you just watched thrall three vampires at once, says he cast a spell when he was ten that just happened to link you two together. That doesn’t sound fucking suspicious to you, Tommy boy?!
Even in Tommy’s head, Sal was kind of an asshole.
But he wouldn’t necessarily be wrong in wanting Tommy to be suspicious. It was suspicious. He’d be a fool not to be suspicious…and Tommy had not lived as long as he had by being a fool. And yet…
And yet.
The fear in Evan’s eyes, the horrified regret—Tommy didn’t think Evan could have been faking that. There had been no lie in his heartbeat, only dread and panic.
He stood there, his hand resting on Evan’s chest, right over the thickened, pink skin of a scar that was identical to the one that Tommy had carried on his body since he was human. Evan couldn’t have known that. There was no way Evan could have known that. His witch’s skin was surprisingly smooth and soft, so warm that it made Tommy’s teeth ache anew, even with the power of more of Evan’s blood coursing through him. Evan was staring at him with a beautiful, aching trust in his eyes, a hint of disbelief in them, as though he still couldn’t understand why Tommy wasn’t running away from this. Away from him.
How long had it been since Evan had someone he could trust in his life? How long had it been since anyone had stood by his side the way Tommy so desperately wanted to?
Feeling the gentle rise and fall of his witch’s chest, listening to the conviction in his words when he promised that he belonged to Tommy just as much as Tommy belonged to him, Tommy found he didn’t care if it was a spell that had brought him to this point. The path didn’t matter if the destination was this: this man, looking at him like Tommy was something wonderful, something that he wanted and treasured; this man, giving himself over to Tommy, and taking all that Tommy offered in return. His witch—perfect for him in every way. His beautiful, beautiful witch—who he was perfect for.
His every instinct had been screaming at him to protect this man, stay by this man’s side, and never let anything separate them from the moment he’d laid eyes on him. It was madness. It was stupidity. It was dangerous.
Or perhaps it was just his body and heart recognizing what his mind hadn’t realized at the time.
He splayed his hand more firmly across the scar that bound them, that marked them as belonging to each other, his other hand coming up to cradle his witch’s jaw.
The kiss was sweeter this time, less hungry, less hurried. Evan met him halfway, his lips parting with a sigh as he reached up to sling his arm around Tommy’s neck, pulling them closer. Tommy swore he could feel the connection between them, a tether binding them together, a tie that was always going to bring Evan here, to him.
To where he belonged.
To where they belonged.
He was tempted to just sling his arm around Evan’s waist and hoist him over to the bed…spend the next few hours exploring his witch the way he wanted to, get his hands and tongue and teeth all over every part of Evan until he knew him the way he craved. But no. No. Reluctantly, he pulled back, smiling when Evan chased his lips with an audible whine.
“The hell you stopping for?” Evan panted, his pupils blown wide, his cheeks flushed delightfully pink.
“Cause like hell is the first time I get to do everything I want to you going to be in a cheap motel while people are trying to kill us.”
Evan pouted. Honest-to-God pouted. “I’ve had worse.”
Tommy had to kiss him again, though he kept it short and chaste. “You deserve better.”
The look of surprise that flashed across Evan’s face before it settled into something unbearably soft made Tommy’s heart hurt a little. But then he let his head fall back against the wall behind him with a soft thump. “Well…okay then, guess we better both fucking live through this.”
Evan smirked at him as he slid his hand out from under his witch’s shirt and stepped back, clearly seeing how difficult it was for Tommy to do so. He sobered quickly, though, running a hand through his hair as he walked over to the table and scooped the ledger he’d found in Greenway’s house up. “We should probably see if there’s anything we can use in this,” he said.
Tommy settled on the end of the bed as Evan sat down at the table. “Are you sure you don’t want to lie down for a little while? I can go through that while you sleep.”
Evan shrugged one shoulder. “I don’t actually feel that bad,” he said, a faintly puzzled frown furrowing his brow before it disappeared. “I mean—I’m going to need food soon, but other than that I think I’m good for a while.”
“All right, but let me know,” Tommy conceded. He was still concerned about the amount of magic Evan had been wielding, not to mention the (mild, admittedly) blood loss, but if his witch said he was all right, there was no reason to doubt him.
Evan hummed in acknowledgment, cocking his head to one side as he ran his fingers around the edges of the ledger, murmuring a spell. His fingers glowed with white light and lines of magic suddenly ran across the cover of the book in fractal patterns, like cracking ice.
“What was that?”
“Locking hex,” Evan answered absently. “Pretty good one—but those don’t really hold up well after the witch that set them dies. Covens used to use them to keep other witches from going through our spellbooks…but it would kind of suck if Grandpa dying meant no one could access the family spells and history.”
The ledger fell open in Evan’s hands and he set it out on the table in front of him, tilting it so that Tommy could see better. The first few pages appeared to be some kind of journal dated from several years ago—mostly Greenway detailing his training with his familiar, Victor. Evan’s eyebrow twitched upwards as he skimmed a couple of entries. “Huh. His familiar was old…I didn’t realize.”
“Howie’s never mentioned anything about the other familiars in his coven,” Tommy said. “Is that why Greenway knew how to hide all these things in the between?”
“Probably. Like I said, most witches only learn how to do the basics with it these days, but if your familiar is at least a few hundred years old, you probably know a lot more.”
“How old was your familiar?” he asked curiously. “Grant’s owl was talking like it was ancient.”
Evan did not look up from the ledger, but Tommy saw his shoulders tense. Instantly, he wanted to call the question back. Stupid. Of course that would be a sore spot—the bond between witches and their familiars went deeper than almost anything. Losing his connection to his familiar when he was banished must have been like losing a part of his soul. Even flipped to the next page, running his finger down the center of the page as he skimmed the words for anything useful.
“Sally—uh, Sally’s been part of my family’s coven since about the 1700’s. But she’s older than that. Her original coven was wiped out in the Annihilation.”
Tommy froze at that, his eyes going wide. “I’m sorry, your familiar was around during the Annihilation?”
The Annihilation was a series of coven wars that had erupted all over the world in the early 1600’s, the last conflict of which hadn’t died down until nearly a hundred years later. It had been the most intense period of fighting between vampires and witches for centuries before and in all the centuries since. The Annihilation was the reason vampires as old as Sal and Alonzo were unusual and vampires as old as Tommy and Gerrard were nearly unheard of. Vampires and witches, already declining in numbers due to the rise of human populations, had been in real danger of being wiped out entirely toward the tail end of the conflicts.
Tommy had spent most of the period drifting from coven to coven—helping where he could, but mostly trying to avoid the worst of the fighting. He’d gotten his fill of war in his centuries under the bastard’s thumb…he’d had no desire to embroil himself in more conflict. It had been during his efforts to keep moving and stay out of the hotbeds of conflict that he had first met and formed a friendship with Sal.
Evan nodded slowly, and suddenly a great deal about his magic and the way he used it made a lot more sense to Tommy.
“That’s—wow,” he said. Evan’s lips quirked into a smile that looked a little broken around the edges.
“My parents didn’t want to let me train with a familiar. It happens sometimes, but usually only if the unbonded witch isn’t showing very much potential. I don’t know how they were planning to hide…well…me. But after the, uh, the finding spell—Sally asked to train me. Well. I say asked. More like told my parents that she was taking me as her witch.”
Tommy wasn’t an expert on witch coven politics, but he couldn’t imagine that anyone would have been able to refuse a survivor of the Annihilation without a damn good reason. He wondered what this Sally had thought of what Evan’s parents had done to him and his brother—Evan made it sound like members of their coven had helped them cover it up, but they wouldn’t have been able to hide the amount of Evan was in possession of from his familiar.
He hoped she had been as disgusted as Tommy was.
He hoped his witch had had someone besides his sister solidly in his corner growing up.
“Okay, that’s it for the journal entries…the last one stops right after he joined Grant’s coven? Nothing that’ll help that I saw.” Evan flipped through a few more pages, before pausing and resting his finger in the center of a page that was seemingly blank except for a date an a set of initials at the top. “Hang on.”
“What?” Tommy asked, leaning forward. When he did, the shift in angle let him see a faint shimmer on the page.
“There’s something…” Evan said, narrowing his eyes as he tapped his finger against the page three times and said a spellword. The page shimmered again, the white light of witch magic glowing around the edges.
Hello? Sorry, can you help me? A young woman’s voice suddenly sounded in the room, clear enough that it was like she was speaking right next to Tommy. He startled, looking around wildly, but of course there was no one there. I’m from the temp agency on 12th—I’m supposed to be on housekeeping tonight? They didn’t…wait…wait, stop! Let go—let go!
The woman’s voice rose into a scream of pain and terror, and Tommy leapt to his feet. “What the fuck is that?” he demanded.
Evan looked faintly sick. He flipped to another page and snapped the same spellword, tapping his finger on the page again.
Hey are you Diego? I’m Aaron…yeah, from the temp agency. A male voice this time, one that sounded about Evan’s age. I mean, I’m down for whatever, but Mr. Greenway said it was just clerical w—
This one cut off with a cry of surprise and terrible, wet gurgling sound that Tommy was all too familiar with.
“Oh my God,” Evan whispered. Hesitantly he pointed to the initials in the corner of this page: AF.
He flipped to the next page and they listened to a girl that couldn’t have been older than eighteen or nineteen singing softly to herself before it was cut off with another horrible scream.
A man cried out brokenly for his mother before his voice cut off mid-word.
A woman begged for her life, crying out that she was pregnant, please, her baby…
Evan looked like he was going to be sick at that one, tears rising in his eyes, and Tommy finally reached over and took the book from his hands. Evan didn’t resist.
Tommy counted the pages with the strange shimmer and the initials in the corners. Eight more. Thirteen total witches that had come to Jonah Greenway for help, come to him hoping to find work for whatever reason. Thirteen witches that he’d betrayed, sending them to meet their ends on the fangs of a vampire.
“He was watching them die,” Evan choked out finally. “This spell, it’s like a walkie-talkie. You, you, you cast it on something that someone’s carrying and it records them, sends the sounds back to you. You learn how to do it when you’re a fucking kid. It’s a game. It—it was a fucking game to him.”
“Ortiz has been feeding her people witch blood for months,” Tommy realized. “Damn it. Alonzo and Mehta couldn’t figure out why so many smaller covens were folding in with her so quickly. But if she was promising access to witch blood…”
“And they’d have been motivated to keep it a secret from other vampires that hadn’t joined her,” Evan finished dully. “Meanwhile witches are going missing—but Greenway was specifically working with witches who were trying to leave their covens or their families.”
“So, they probably weren’t telling anyone their plans. Or where they were going to find work. Fuck.” A sudden dread seized Tommy, and he flipped past the last spelled page. He clenched his teeth, and knew his eyes were flaring scarlet. This page looked the same as the others, but there was no shimmer of magic to indicate that Greenway’s fucking souvenir had been recorded yet.
EB
Right there at the top of the page.
A growl ripped out of Tommy’s throat, and Evan turned startled eyes onto him. They skated down to the page he was looking at, and Evan gasped. “He…he knew who I was?!”
A good question, but Tommy couldn’t get past the initials glaring up at him from the page. Greenway had written Evan’s initials in the corner of that page, intending to record his witch’s final moments like a goddamn signature in a yearbook. He’d probably spelled something on the temp agency uniform that Evan had been wearing so he’d be able to hear when the vampires at Gerrard’s part fell on Evan. Something to look back on and enjoy like it was a fond memory. His witch. Fuck.
If Greenway wasn’t dead already, Tommy would have made it a priority to rip his fucking throat out.
“Okay,” Evan said shakily. “Okay, whoa, put the fangs away, there. He’s…he’s dead Tommy. He can’t—he can’t hurt anyone anymore.”
Tommy reached for his witch, closing his hand around Evan’s wrist and tugging him to come sit on the end of the bed beside him. He pressed his fingers against the throb of Evan’s pulse, right above the makeshift bandage where he knew the marks from his bite were. He needed to feel his witch’s heartbeat, needed his witch here and close, filling his senses. Greenway’s plan hadn’t worked. Evan was here. He was here and safe and Tommy was going to make sure he stayed that way.
No matter what.
* * *
Evan thought he might throw up.
His head was spinning, the final words of the other witches that had been working with Greenway—so many witches—echoing in his ears long after the phantom screams of the mimic spell faded. Evan had almost been one of them. If his vampire had not followed him when he tried to convince Max to leave that godforsaken party, if Tommy hadn’t trusted the inexplicable pull of the spell that Evan now knew bound them together…Evan would have died there. He’d known that, of course, but looking at Greenway’s ledger fucking commemorating all the witches he’d helped kill, it all felt so much more sinister. Greenway really had planned his death.
Had planned all those witches’ deaths.
Only his vampire’s sure touch on his arm, Tommy’s fingers curling over his pulsepoint, holding him like he needed proof that Evan was still here, kept him from spiraling out of control. His magic pulsed through him, wild and shifting, searching for an outlet in response to his seesawing emotions. It was harder to clamp down on than it had been in months, surging through him in waves that felt stronger than they had in a long time. He twisted his wrist slightly, shifting Tommy’s hand so he could grasp it in his own.
“Is there anything else that can help Chimney and Grant? Grant will be able to confirm that all the spells cast on the book were Greenway’s…but that doesn’t nail anything to the vampires,” he said, taking a deep, steadying breath.
Tommy, his eyes still sheened faintly red, flicked through the last several pages in the ledger pausing at a page near the end where a series of numbers similar to the spreadsheet they had found on Greenway’s flash drive had been written. At the top of the page was a row of numbers that was too short to be a routing or account number. Beneath it was a series of letters. Tommy narrowed his eyes and hummed thoughtfully.
“That,” he said, indicating the rows, “might be a cypher key. Or a password.”
“Didn’t Chimney say there were still a bunch of encrypted files on the drive?” Evan asked hopefully. Tommy drew his hand up to his mouth to kiss the back of it before letting go to pull his phone out of his pocket.
“Let’s hope so,” he said, opening his camera and snapping a couple pictures. Then he scrolled to his contacts and selected the one marked ‘Howie.’
While the phone rang, Evan leaned tiredly against his vampire, tucking his head against Tommy’s neck. He still didn’t feel as bad as he had expected to after using a control hex, especially letting Tommy drink from him again, too. His magic still hummed steadily through him, though, and while he certainly wouldn’t say no to a nap and something to eat, it wasn’t a pressing need yet. It was confusing him greatly…but he couldn’t afford to look a gift horse in the mouth.
When the crash did come, though, he was probably going to be down for a while. Hopefully he could last until they were in a safer location.
The call connected on the second ring, and Chimney’s voice came over the line. The other witch sounded a little breathless, as though he’d just been running. “Tommy, man, please tell me you have good news,” he said, a little frantically.
“I don’t know if it’s good,” Tommy said, his voice terse, “but we found something at Greenway’s house.”
“Wait, what? Athena and Bobby searched Jonah’s house top to bottom.”
“Evan found something in the between.”
“Wait, he told you about the between?” Chimney sounded shocked, but then he sighed. “Whatever. Never mind. What did you find?”
Tommy shot Evan a loaded look. “A ledger. I’m texting you come pictures right now—I think Greenway might have written his passcode down in it. And it looks like there’s more financials.”
“Oh thank fuck,” Chimney breathed. That’s great!”
“Howie,” Tommy sighed, dropping his head so that it rested on top of Evan’s. “Listen. There were a bunch of spelled pages in the ledger. Evan opened them? I dunno if that’s the right term…”
“There were mimic bursts spelled into the pages,” Evan interrupted. He licked his lips, closing his eyes briefly. “I wasn’t the only witch Greenway turned over to vampires. He’s been doing it for months. He, uh, I’m sorry, he recorded—it’s bad. Really bad,” he finished clumsily.
There was silence on the other end, and then he heard Chimney swear softly. “All right, not dealing with that right now. Fuck. Athena’s meeting her contact on the SoCal high coven tonight. If it’s safe, we’ll set up somewhere to meet and you can bring the ledger to us. Hopefully the pages you texted are useful. Just…I dunno, keep doing what you’re doing. Just stay ahead of things. At least another day.”
Evan wanted to groan out loud at that, but he felt Tommy nod seriously. Then his vampire cleared his throat. “Will do. Stay safe, Howie.”
“You too, man. Uh…both of you.” With that, Chimney disconnected the call.
They sat in silence for a few heartbeats, before Tommy gently disengaged from him and got up. He moved over to the window and carefully edged the blinds aside, nodding to himself when he was met with the dusky purple of twilight. “We should get out of here—I’ll be fine just to get out to the car in this.”
Evan nodded and gathered the ledger back up. As soon as he touched it, though, he felt a tingle over the back of his neck. His magic prickled, swirling through him agitatedly. He frowned, focusing on the feeling, his magic surging through him. The ledger felt…different somehow. He could sense the remains of the locking hex he’d broken, could sense the echoes of the mimic spell. But there was something else—something fainter and more ephemeral.
“Evan?” Tommy asked in concern. Evan narrowed his eyes, staring down at the ledger in his hands and letting his magic wash through him. It almost felt like—
Evan sucked in a breath, his eyes flying to his vampire. He leaped up. “Now,” he barked, rushing forward and grabbing Tommy’s hand. “Now, we have to go. Now!”

AU so we can all be in denial
Futari Wa Pretty Cure AU with doctor4t and Luxintrus as the chosen Pretty Cures
Content SMP still has it's insanity going on but it got hit with the Boring Modern AU-inator
So let's say that Lux & R4t are both engineers or something else showing of their doohickeys at the same even to gain recognition and hopefully a well or better paying job
Lux is following in her dad Arathain's footsteps but she wants to reach for the stars. He either holds a position with the event holders or is checking it out in support of his daughter and also in hopes of making connections with up and coming geniuses
Cue Arathain finding a really good explosive drill automobile by doctor4t himself who he quickly starts networking with, planning contracts with him and— he could get that Netherite he's eyeing
See there's a place in the Nether the government is eyeing for a potential boon in Ancient Debris. Debris Arathain knows is there but it's gonna be time before the government claims or sells the area to the highest bidder
Unfortunately by the time the area is snagged, Arathain will still not have his contracts with R4t finalized
So it's simple, make some calls, steal and reconstruct r4t's design, maybe pin it on someone else to be sure and he's got his debris. He'll share it with the inventor, he's an opportunist, not a bastard
It doesn't work out evident by Doctor4t showing why he isn't to be fucked around with by hiring mercenary Clownpierce to get confessions out of Arathain's co-conspirators and going after the Mason himself
Lux finds out that R4t is after their dad and is like "what the hell are you doing?" And they fight on the way to Arathain and Lux tries to stop the fight and—
Then golden chains nuke Arathain. Not fun
Luxintrus is present and they're like "R4T WHAT THE FUCK!?" and R4T can only defend himself saying he had no clue what was going on
In comes Folly, or a servant of her, saying that they've been chosen to cleanse an evil from this world, that is already taking lives—Charter
Cue the two getting their magical transformation items and learning they can only become the magical warriors destined to save the world when they're together
doctor4t — Cure Rat. The fact that people out of the never never figure out the doctor rat is the cure rat is a comedy never lost on them
Luxintrus — Cure Moth, she even grows actual moth features when transformed. And keeps the less obvious ones as a human. That's a learning curve for her

Alright so. .I will do, eventually my favourite STFH couples (canon or not) but not know. . Today is the turn of the kids or young adults.
This will be a LONG ONE.
Ah, the joys of the Shoot from the Hip children storylines. All of them will fucking BREAK YOUR HEART. Make them fucking happy or have no trauma..
So oddly, looking at the collection of the children that they have done. .
- Tom plays the children/young adults with the most trauma it seems. .and he is soo good at it. Also the one that is most often the young character.
- AJ plays also sad children. . Kinda noticed most of the time, his characters are missing a parent or both of them. . Possibly the only outlier there is Kelsey from My First Bra. .
- Sam = just pure chaos, rare tho. It's not often we see a child played by Sam. I could be wrong, haven't gone through all the patreon's 'live on stage' shows yet.
- Luke = some sad young characters but again mostly rare in the longforms.
So here is the list. .
- Andrew (Luke) [All Eyes on Nigel] my poor boy.. he didn't deserve the crazy shit that happened. My headcannon of the ending is that Andrew did go back with his uncle Sam (played by Sam unsurprisingly), but ended leaving the Manchester Police Force.
- Chip (Sam/AJ) [The Cardboard Stegosaurus] - yep somehow AJ played Chip because Sam would have been pulling double duty for the entirety of the ending of the play. Honestly probably the healthiest child on this list. . But this is a wholesome story from the group, I'm not kidding. They do grief soo well. .
- Alexa (Tom) [Ballet on the Battlefield]. . PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS.
- Hugh (AJ) [Marigolds, Bluebells and Hugh], one of my all time plays by the group. Hugh needs to be protected and I'm glad he can be now. .
- Priscilla (AJ) [Priscilla's Final Petal]. .Priscilla my beloved. Protect the sweet child at all costs. Honestly I can't exactly describe the final moments of the play, apart from pure noisy chaos.
- Peter (Tom) [The Milkman]. Protect this poor boy. At least he knows the truth now, but still protect the boy.
- Benjamin (Sam) [Strange Noises from the Hole in the Wall] ah yes.. the child that started out as Timothy, then got called Timmy and finally Benjamin. But honestly Sam's acting as Benjamin, broke me soo many times, especially the ending moments.
- Jasper aka The Boy Witch (Sam) [Moist & Magical] - Name got canonised in a Patreon live stream. Jasper, my Scottish lad. In all truth, wholesome as fuck play. Badass women, Tom being unhinged and Jasper being the perfect grandson.
- Jimmy (Tom) [Toby's Secret Pocket] PROTECT JIMMY AT ALL COSTS. I don't think I had seen their audience latch onto a character that quickly. Jimmy was perfect in every way.. in all honesty I have no idea how the 4 of them ended up with character development, and a wrapped up ending after being pure carnage for 3/4 of the play... The amount of bullying and throwing each other under the bus. . Forcing Luke and Tom to play two characters in different scenes.
- Kelsey (AJ) [My First Bra] - PATREON ONLY. . Honestly this play is chaotic as fuck. . You wouldn't expect where it goes. . It starts Wholesome then gets weird. .
- Jackie (Tom) [Drama at Till 4) - PATREON ONLY. Honestly a wholesome play, I'm not kidding.
- Timothy (Luke) + Tina (Sam) [Tango at the Rugby Club] - Bill Murray Live Stream play (1st of September).. combining these two child characters together, since these two are very sweet.

Thoughts on Tobias Snape/Eileen Prince and Eileen Prince/Tom Riddle Jr.?
thank you very much for the ask, anon!
i've answered eileen prince/tom riddle here - spoiler alert, i don't hugely back it.
when it comes to eileen prince/tobias snape - which also got its own shoutout from another mystery anon:
now... my view on this is informed by the fact that i simply don't accept the fanon that eileen is from an elite [whether we mean socially or financially elite] pureblood family - she can't be! her marriage to a muggle man is announced in the daily prophet! what purebloods are doing that?
the only person who ever suggests she might be is harry, who does so on the basis of no evidence, in order to force a comparison between snape and voldemort as a way of soothing his furious grief over dumbledore's death.
but one of the central jokes in voldemort's background is that he is - by far - the most aristocratic character in the entire series, in both the magical and muggle worlds, but is denied access to the social cachet this brings in the muggle world because he's raised in an orphanage and never acknowledged by tom riddle sr. and in the wizarding world because he has a muggle name which means he's denied access to the lineage-based hierarchy of wizarding society, even though he's descended from slytherin. it doesn't make narrative sense, then, for snape to be in the same position - the uniqueness of voldemort's parentage is the point.
[and also the point of harry's assessment of snape at the end of half-blood prince is that it's... wrong.]
i personally think of eileen, then, as a half-blood - but a half-blood with a magical father, which gives her the name-based protection we see in canon afforded to half-bloods like harry. i can just about accept her as a pureblood from a minor pureblood family, but only if - regardless of this blood-status - she's from a aspirational-working- or lower-middle-class background, rather than raised in ancestral majesty.
[after all, we have andromeda for that.]
i also like to think of her and tobias as childhood friends, from technically the same class bracket, but from very different sub-brackets within this group - so, tobias from a destitute working-class background which was looked at with disgust by the aspirational-working-classes to which the princes belonged; exactly as is the case with her son and lily.
i like this - the idea that they were once thick as thieves, with magic the only difference between them - because the canonical series does far too little interrogation of the fact that, for all dumbledore and the order's grandstanding over the inherent goodness of the muggle world, all but one of the mixed muggle-magical relationships we see in canon fail*, all muggleborn children extract themselves totally from the world of their birth, and the two worlds are as completely segregated by the good guys as they are by the death eaters.
eileen discovering that magic - which looked so unlikely to cause an issue when she fell in love with toby aged ten - causes the man she adores to despise her and subject her to appalling violence, the son she loves to resent her, and the poverty in which she lives to continue unabated is something i think is really valuable to explore.
plus, the idea that eileen - in her son's eyes - threw away her prestigious magical education to return to a cotton-town slum and marry a poor man provides the perfect explanation for why severus snape makes many of the choices he makes in his life.
[*we hear of four muggle-magical relationships in canon: tom riddle sr. and merope gaunt, tobias and eileen, dean's parents, and seamus' parents. we all know what happened to tom and merope, tobias and eileen are canonically a violent, unhappy marriage, dean's dad leaves his mum when he’s a baby, and seamus' parents may or may not still be together. jkr has added several more in her post-series writing... almost all of which are similarly unhappy.]

A prompt where Tim gets used by the family since early teens, so his baby pussy is not quite as tight, is sloppy and stretched out to the point they can fit their hands in it, and they have fun with it for a while before Bruce decides he wants to tight him up again, and starts using eletric shocks to do so. Of course he could use alien tech but.... Tim has to learn not to be such a slut, doesn't he?
brutim, dicktim, jaytim
bruce missing having to strain to fit into tim, the slow slide and feeling tim clench up all around his cock 😔. having tim when HE was the only one fucking him was so good. but now he's older and all of bruce's children fuck him like the hormone addled kids they are and tim loves it of course. he adores getting attention and having his brother and daddy in his little baby pussy.
but what was once a pink, pudgy little cunt with a delicate little hole is now a stretched out pussy that bruce can easily slide into and start fucking. and its NICE but its not hot. bruce wants the tight vice of a young virgin cunt. its why he'd started fucking tim in the first place because all the women around bruce were all stretched and used up. so tim had been the only natural escalation for bruce to be able to get off. bruce still remembered how tight tim had been the first time, how bruce hadn't been able to get his cock all the way and had been stuck just rutting into this tight baby cunt, rubbing his cock against wet, ridged walls.
at the time bruce hadn't been grateful, he had even cursed how tight tim was and wished he was bigger so he could get all the way in.
how ungrateful bruce had been. so bruce starts looking into making tim tighter. the husband stitch is the first thing that comes up in his search but he throws that out. bruce wants tim's insides tighter, not just a smaller hole that will probably end up tearing anyway.
that's when bruce finds electro muscle stimulation. its meant for people with particular injuries or conditions but bruce sees how a few athletes use it to tone up their muscles. how it can help tone up some weakened muscles.
and given that bruce doesn't get to feel tim go all tight on him anymore it feels like the best solution. with some little electric shocks in the muscles of tim's cunt bruce can make him tight again.
bruce knows there will be some protests, mostly from dick and jason who are to blame for how tim got so big. lord knew the two of them loved oooing over fucking him together in the same hole and that, for fun, dick sometimes just liked putting his hand into tim like he was a little kid watching a magic trick.
jason and dick loved tim sloppy and loose but...god bruce NEEDED tight pussy!
it was the only pussy worth having!!!
so bruce decides to go forward with it.
tim didn't like pain. he didnt even like when bruce would pinch his nipples just to see them blossom red. so he wasn't going to like an electric probe in his cunt.
but hey maybe this would be a learning experience.
maybe tim would learn not to be such a slut and putting anything up his cute flower.

Thou Shalt Not Fall: Recovery
Warriors was safe but far from okay, but Hyrule is determined to do everything he can to help. I am hoping this chapter is actually okay. I think I read it too much so I genuinely can't tell if there are problems or if it's only boring to me because I had to read it so much.
When Hyrule woke up, it was dark out and somebody was shaking him. His hand felt for his sword but then he felt that now familiar magic from the first vampire, so he relaxed a little. Their presence still made him jumpy but he knew it wouldn’t be long before he could put his guard down, at least while he was in this estate. The vampire was holding a lantern so he could see of her face, along with the fact that she had dark hair and rounded ears. It struck him that she looked especially young, probably around Wind’s age or a little younger.
“Elena is ready for you guys downstairs.”
Ah, a downstairs. That made sense now. The vampires didn’t live with the giant windows, they were underground where the sun would never reach them.
He got ready quickly and followed her down. He was the last one of the group so he awkwardly just sat down between Legend and Time, who were sitting at the very edge of the rectangular setup of fancy couches. The vampire who led him down quickly left the room, leaving what he guessed was two other vampires sitting on a couch on the other side of the room from them. One was a tall guy with red hair and rounded ears and the other was a Hylian was long, wavy blonde hair. The man was sitting up straight with a wide eyes while the woman was scanning all of them from her relatively laid back position. In particular, she seemed to be very interested in Wind but Hyrule wasn’t sure if Wind noticed.
“This is all of us... except for Warriors, of course. Er, Link,” Sky added quickly.
“I’m Elena and this is Walter.”
“We’re all Link. Different heroes from different points in history,” Time said. “You all have nicknames based on our titles, so the Link you’re familiar with is called Warriors. We can introduce our nicknames later.”
“I’ll keep calling him Link, if you don’t mind,” she mumbled before she straightened herself. “Link will be fine. We just don’t know how long it will take for him to be fine. We’re going in blind here since no vampire would have survived... what was it you said, Walter? A pool of light magic?”
“It was a spring where a light spirit resides so the spring also has properties of light magic,” Twilight chimed in. “I’ve used water from those springs to heal wounds but it did the opposite to him.”
“That would be a quick death to a regular vampire. There wouldn’t even be a body left to find,” Walter mumbled, shaking his head. “The fact that Link is here and already had a little bit of blood is kind of... miraculous, actually.”
Wind frowned. “Can we visit him?”
Elena nodded. “You can visit anytime you want but I have one rule – none of you are to feed him, even if it’s from a bottle. Please just leave that up to us. We can look into blood letting if any of you are truly interested in providing blood but we will be the ones to make him drink, got it?”
“We won’t feed him,” Time agreed with a nod. He didn’t look happy about it though and quite frankly, none of them did. However, Hyrule was inclined to trust the vampires to take care of Warriors. Warriors’ injuries were the most extreme they’ve ever been since they first got together and the vampires were more familiar with regeneration than any of them were. Hyrule wasn’t even sure if his magic was even doing anything. What else was any of them supposed to do?
Suddenly, she stood up and motioned for them to follow her. “I’ll show you where his room is so you can drop by whenever you want, even if we aren’t around,” she started as she walked to one of the hallways. Everybody hopped to their feet and followed her down a long, dark hallway until she came to a door that had a sign hanging from a nail on it. Hyrule couldn’t read Warriors’ script but he could recognize their shared name in it. He saw Warriors write his name down enough times to know it was their name on that door. It didn’t look like Warriors’ writing though and somebody even drew some stars and hearts around it.
Elena opened the door and walked inside. They followed her, slowly filling up the modest sized room. Warriors was on the bed, completely wrapped up like a gibdo. The only exceptions were his head, where he only had bandages around his eyes, and his feet which only seemed mildly burnt. The parts of his face that Hyrule could see were charred and Hyrule could see his fangs through the holes in his cheeks.
“We had to redo the bandages since they soaked up more water but you guys did a good job helping him out,” Walter said from just outside the door. Twilight and Time turned their heads to look at him, clearly alarmed. “I’m just a little burnt, not nearly as bad as Link! I just need another day, I’m fine.”
Twilight and Time looked at each other and then turned his attention back to Warriors.
Wind’s lip quivered. “He looks really bad.”
“He’s still here though,” Elena said quickly. “Vampires don’t die slowly. It might take a while but he’ll bounce back. At this point, the only way he could die is if he starved to death and with all of us around, that won’t happen. I’m not going to let the only other Hylian vampire die. You have my word that he’ll recover.”
“Okay,” Wind said quiet with a nod. He still looked upset but he also looked very determined at the same time. “If there’s anything we can do to help...”
“We’ll let you know, of course. For now, all of you are extra eyes. If you notice anything weird with him, let anyone here know, vampire or Hylian.”
“Sounds easy enough,” Legend mumbled.
It sounded easy but Hyrule had his doubts.
The next day, Hyrule was feeling pretty good. He had a lot of rest and a lot of food, so he had a lot of energy to dedicate to Warriors. He couldn’t see his magic doing anything when he last tried but he hoped that since his feet weren’t completely wrapped, then he could try healing the minor burns and see if his magic was actually doing anything after all. He knew his magic helped minor burns because he healed Warriors’ sunburns all the time, even if Warriors whined about him ‘wasting his magic’ later.
He didn’t really see the others upstairs where the most of the Hylians stayed but he found some of them downstairs by the fireplace. Wild, Time, and Wind were all engrossed in some sort of conversation with Twilight lounging on one of the couches, his eyelids drooping as he stared at the ceiling. Hyrule gave them a quick wave and moved to Warriors’ room. He was surprisingly alone but maybe that was for the best.
Warriors barely moved since the last time Hyrule saw him but he didn’t expect anything different. He wouldn’t want to move if he was in Warriors’ position.
Hyrule took a deep breath and moved to the end of the bed where he could see his feet, the least burnt part of him. Maybe his boots had something to do with that. Regardless of how his feet managed to be relatively unscathed, Hyrule got to work and focused his magic. In the first positive sign he saw since he woke up that initial night, the red burns began to disappear. His magic was doing something then!
With his feet looking better, Hyrule decided to move to the other side of the bed. Warriors’ face was far too burnt for the life spell to really help and his ears fared no better – he was missing the tips and what was left was mostly red and black. It was a miracle he still had his earrings in and there was enough of his ears left to keep them from falling out.
But it wasn’t the part of his ears that Hyrule could see that he wanted to heal. He wanted to make sure Warriors could hear them, that he had some sort of link to the rest of them. Hyrule focused again, channelling the rest of his magic into his ears.
“What are you doing?”
Hyrule didn’t stop the spell but he did turn around to find one of the vampires watching him. She looked like an older version of the young looking vampire who brought him downstairs, though she seemed much more serious than that other vampire did. In her hand was small vial of blood. It looked to be about third of what Warriors would get if he drank from the one of the bottles Wild gave him. He reminded himself that he had to trust the vampires.
“I’m trying to heal his ears,” he answered. “I have healing magic. It helped with some of his minor burns before so I’m hoping if I can heal his ears enough, he can hear us.”
The woman looked bored when she came in but her expression lightened up when he spoke about magic. She walked inside the room, tilting her head slightly. “You can heal others with magic? I thought magic was more reserved for the royal family in Hylians.”
“People outside of the royal family have the capacity of magic and some of us are pretty good with it! There is just magic that only certain people in the royal family can do,” he answered as he pulled his hands away from Warriors. He would use a little more magic but he wasn’t going to interfere with Warriors getting the other thing he really needed to heal. If it seemed like a small amount, he still needed it.
“Can you go pinch his toes? That’s the best way to wake him up.”
Hyrule simply nodded. Apparently, Warriors didn’t like it when somebody touched his feet because it only took about five seconds of touching for him to start trying to pull his feet away with a rumble from his chest. That was all the woman needed to lift his head slightly and pour the blood into his mouth.
“That’s it, huh?”
“Yup, little vials of blood several times a day since we don’t know what shape his stomach is in. I hate babysitting, especially because he needs a lot of it, but Elena’s attached to him so we’re all pitching in. Except for Marcus, he’s not back yet.”
He could understand the reason why Elena was so cautious about feeding him them now. They must have him one some sort of schedule, drinking little vials of blood until they more comfortable.
“My name is Audrey, by the way. I think you’ve met my little sister too? Her name is Beth. I imagine you’ll be here for a while, otherwise I wouldn’t bother with introductions.”
“My nickname is Hyrule. We’re all Link so...”
“What a strange nickname. It makes no difference for me though. I’ll see you around,” Audrey muttered as she capped the vial again and promptly left the room. Hyrule spared Warriors one more glance as he settled back to sleep and left his room too.
They ate dinner together upstairs and together went downstairs to go visit Warriors again. However, when they got there, Hyrule noticed that there was a vampire he couldn’t recall seeing before. He looked young too, probably around Four’s age but he was definitely taller than him. His hair was light blonde to the point of it being nearly white and it was long enough to just touch his shoulders. His eyes were a light blue that seemed to shift to a light purple depending on the light. Was he the Marcus that Audrey mentioned?
He was talking to Elena and Walter around that fireplace and didn’t seem to care that people could herar them. Audrey and her little sister were nowhere to be seen.
“I also have a hitchhiker,” the small vampire muttered as he opened his jacket to reveal a little blue fairy sitting in one of the inner pockets.
Walter’s eyes went wide. “A fairy! I’ve never seen one in person before! You’re prettier than the books said you would be.”
The fairy flew out of his pocket and immediately flew over to Time to settle on his head. It took a second for Hyrule to recall but it was Proxi, the fairy at the castle that was friends with Warriors. Of course she would come for him if word about his injuries got back to the castle. He wasn’t sure if Warriors could hear yet but he had no doubt that Warriors would appreciate her presence once he became aware of it.
“Well, thank you! You guys are okay but I like my vampire the best,” she chirped happily. “Where is he, anyway?”
“I’ll show you,” Time said as he promptly walked towards Warriors’ room with Proxi still sitting on his head.
“Marcus, has Zelda sent a message or just the fairy?” Elena asked as she watched them walk away.
“Mostly just the fairy,” Marcus answered. “They all insisted that the fairy come with. Zelda just wants us to let her know when he’s feeling better though.”
“I see. Thanks for making the trip, Marcus.”
Marcus simply nodded, then walked away. That meant that Elena and Walter were turning his attention to him now.
“Your nickname is Hyrule, yes?” Elena asked. “Do you know the fairy? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fairy willingly come hang out with vampires before.”
“That’s Proxi. I don’t know their exactly relationship but she’s pretty close to Warriors. I think they’ve been together before he was cursed. It’s a good idea to have her around.”
“Of course, the only time a fairy wants to be around a vampire is because they’re already friends,” Walter said with a frown that honestly made Hyrule feel kind of bad for him. He knew why fairies avoided vampires – their magic took some getting used to – but they weren’t bad people or anything. A fairy who actually who stuck around even with the weird way to their magic felt would figure that out.
“Well, if you want to see to hang out with more fairies, talk to Warriors when he’s feeling better. He’s got some sort of snack that they like,” Hyrule said. He wasn’t truly a fairy himself, he was just somebody who take the shape of one, but even he thought that those snacks smelled pretty good. He was sure a fairy would stick around long enough to actually listen to a vampire if Warriors was around with his bag of fairy snacks. “Vampire magic is intense to be around but food always helps smooth things over.”
“They really do like those snacks,” Time mumbled as he walked backed into their common room. “Proxi will likely stay with Warriors until he’s back on his feet. If something is wrong, she knows to find one of you. I’m sure she’ll talk to you if you visit her in his room.”
Walter looked between the two of them and suddenly dashed towards Warriors’ room. Elena smiled and shook her head as she watched him leave.
“This is probably the most exciting decade he’s had since we moved here.”
“Why did you move to Hyrule?” Time asked. “You have to hide who you are. Wouldn’t it be more comfortable to stay abroad?”
“I missed home. That’s all. The Hyrule I came back to isn’t the one I left but it feels more like home than Labrynna ever did. At least in Hyrule, I don’t stick out as much, even though I’m a vampire.”
“I get feeling like you’re the odd one out,” Time mumbled.
Hyrule could too. Even in a group of heroes, he wasn’t exactly like the others, both in background and ability. He could use a lot more magic and spells that the others couldn’t and his era was also very different. No one ever made him feel bad about the stark differences. In fact, they did the opposite. However, sometimes Hyrule had a time not focusing on those differences.
He couldn’t blame Elena for wanting to go home.
Hyrule made a point to come down as early as he could and heal Warriors as much as he could before he made himself dizzy. He can handle being exhausted so long as they didn’t have to travel or leave the estate. All he needed was to able to make it to one of the couches and nap it off until lunch. He also made sure that he brought some sugar water for Proxi, knowing that Time often got her more to eat later on in the day.
According to Proxi, who had yet to leave the room since she arrived, he was slowly improving. Slowly. Hyrule didn’t see much of a difference, other than some of the very minor burns fading away but since she was with him so often, he didn’t doubt her words.
On the fourth day, Hyrule ventured down to his room and did what he what he always did – brought Proxi her sugary drink, then focused his magic around his ears. Between watching for any changes and focusing his magic, he didn’t notice Warriors waking up. He only heard Proxi fluttering by his face, mumbling comforting words. He broke his concentration for a moment and found Warriors holding up one of his hands.
“Warriors, relax. You’re seriously injured. Don’t move too much.”
And he actually listened, slowly lowering his hand. Then his lips moved, trying to mumble something but no words came out his mouth. He seemed to realize and stopped.
“Link.. you can hear us, right?” Proxi asked. “Wiggle your toes if you can.”
Hyrule turned his head quickly to watch his toes. Warriors didn’t really wiggle them but he did move them. He could hear them.
Proxi continued, “you’re safe, Link. You’re in your room at the vampire estate. We’re all going to make sure you get better but you have to relax and get as much rest as you can, alright?”
Link tried to mumble something again.
“I’m not surprised that everything hurts. You have third degree burns everywhere except for your feet! I don’t think third degree burns even describe all the burns you have! They’re worse than that! That’s why the only thing you have to worry about is resting, okay? Even trying to talk is going to hurt, so stop doing that for a bit.”
“You can hear him?” Hyrule asked, raising an eyebrow. Warriors shifted again but this time, it looked like he was just trying to get more comfortable. Either he exhausted himself or he decided to follow their advice and go back to sleep.
“There’s more to it but one of the ways I translated for him when he lacked the confidence to speak for himself is through his lips. I know the gist of what he says, even if he can’t move his lips much,” she answered with a tone indicating that she wasn’t going to say anything more on the matter. “Maybe you should go to sleep too. You’ve been exhausting yourself trying to heal him. Now that he can hear again, you should take a little break! You did really well!”
“I guess I should.” He did finish what he set out to do – he helped Warriors hear again. “I’ll head out while I have the energy to get back to bed. You share the good news, okay?”
“You got it!”
Hyrule kept his promise and didn’t use any of his magic on Warriors the next couple of days. In fact, he didn’t go into Warriors’ room at all, knowing that it would be hard to resist healing him if Hyrule was in the same room. However, he didn’t really know what to do with himself.
Part of the problem was that he just wasn’t comfortable in the estate, even though Elena and the Hylians who worked in the estate tried their best to be welcoming. Hyrule was used to smaller and simpler places. His favourite cave was basically his home, even though he could stay with the Zeldas if he really wanted to but like this estate, he was never truly comfortable at their castle.
The other part was just that it was never quite easy to relax when one of them was injured, in pain, or ill and there wasn’t a lot he could do about it. He wanted to help so he felt like he should be doing something but at the end of the day, all Warriors needed to regenerate was just blood and sleep. The vampires had the blood part covered just fine and Warriors couldn’t really do anything but sleep. While the magic helped, Warriors didn’t actually need it and the others would get mad if they thought he was using too much of it.
Hyrule was brought out of his thoughts when he spotted Four, Wild, and Legend at the giant window. Sky sitting on the other bed, trying to keep his eyes open as the rain beat against the windows rhythmically. Wild didn’t sleep in this room, so Hyrule wasn’t sure why he was there, or even when he got there but with the way he was watching the rain, he didn’t think he was leaving any time soon.
“Do you think the full vampires could go out in weather like this?” Four asked out loud. “Technically, there isn’t any sunlight.”
“I wouldn’t risk it if I was one. Weather can change suddenly. I think they would be fine in this weather though.”
“We would be but you’re right, most would not risk it. My apologies for barging in.”
Sky nearly fell out of the bed getting up so fast. “Elena, Beth, nice to see you two,” he said quickly as he recovered.
“You’re either here for good news or bad news,” Legend mumbled. Beth walked into the room first, though she stayed close to the bed post with the curtains.
“I wouldn’t call it good news or bad news. Just news,” Elena said as she closed the door behind her. “I’ve spoken to the others downstairs already so I’m glad the rest of you are here. In short, Link is regenerating more than we thought. We figured this out when he threw up what we think is the damaged lining of his throat and stomach. He has more of appetite now so getting rid of that must have helped.”
Wild nodded along. “That’s kind of gross but it doesn’t sound bad,” he mumbled, before he suddenly winced. “Oh... the rest of his burns might be similar.”
“Yes, we think those burns need to be debrided now. We left his burns alone because we didn’t know how his body was going to regenerate but it’s clear to us now that his body is not going to use or repair the burnt flesh. If we help him get rid of it, he may regenerate faster.”
Hyrule could see the logic but he also didn’t enjoy the idea of taking bits of Warriors off, even if it helped him. It shouldn’t hurt him as much as getting staked did but the thought of it still made him shiver.
“He shouldn’t feel much of it, right?” Four asked slowly. “Like, if his skin is black, it’s dead, isn’t it?”
“It shouldn’t hurt too much if we take it off but even if it did hurt, I believe it’s still necessary to do. Unless any of you want to help, there is a Hylian doctor in the estate who is aware of the situation and has the expertise to help him. I just wanted to make sure you were aware.”
Hyrule swallowed hard but didn’t say anything. “When are you planning on doing this?”
“Soon. We might as well get it out of the way. If there are no concerns, I will go get that doctor.”
They all mumbled no, so Elena left with a promise of letting them know how Warriors fared. When the door closed, Wild let out a deep breath.
“I wish I went on that walk with him or told him to stay. He always wanders off for a bit and comes back so I wasn’t worried when he left,” Wild said with a sigh. “How was I supposed to know it would be different?”
“You didn’t. It’s easy to feel bad and hard to accept that you can’t change it,” Beth mumbled from behind the bed post. Hyrule looked to the window but it was still raining. “I see the older vampires in Holodrum beat themselves up all the time. They look at vampires like Audrey and I and they feel intense guilt about the fact that they didn’t stop the vampire who turned us against our will. They always question what they could have done differently because they feel responsible... but we don’t blame them at all. They can think about what they could have done all they want but it’s now that matters.”
For a moment, nobody spoke. Hyrule had a feeling that her words sunk deeper to the others than it did for him. He didn’t have a lot of regrets that he brought from his home – his era was a work in progress and he was kind of proud of the progress it was making. It was slow but it was continuous. He supposed most his regret came from what he could or couldn’t do for the group but even that seemed to come and go.
“About being turned against their will... why is that significant?” Hyrule asked when nobody else seemed willing to break their awkward silence.
“No matter which country we’re in, vampires take consent very seriously. We don’t drink from people unless we get their permission to do so. We don’t turn people unless they ask for it. It’s part of the peace agreement we have with non-vampires... You guys don’t know a lot about vampire culture,” she mumbled, like she was just realizing that she was talking to Hylians.
“We don’t have vampires where or when we come from. At least not any that we’re aware of,” Wild muttered, putting a hand on his chin. He seemed a bit better but Hyrule decided he was going to watch him.
“Except for Legend, who saw vampires and didn’t know it,” Sky said with a smirk.
“Hey! None of you were supposed to know about that! Ravio’s getting a talk the next time we see him.”
Beth laughed. “Well, I should get going since I don’t want to be around when the weather decides to change. You guys are free to ask us questions though! Well, Marcus is a little grumpy so maybe it’s best to avoid him but ask the rest of us! We’re happy to talk!”
She didn’t wait for them answer and dashed out. Hyrule looked out to the window again. The rain stopped, though it was still cloudy. Huh, maybe they just had a sense for that sort of thing.

sophia seeing cailan's body hanging there when they go back to ostagar, and suddenly all she can see even through the rot and the ruin is just how much he looked like alistair...... :'(
a mental image that totally will not haunt her through alistair's many years on the throne as rebellions and assassination attemps come and go. doesn't send her unhinged and unwise even a little
#I've never played back to ostagar before actually! getting some more delicious trauma for everyone#and also zev was there (affectionate)#oc: sophia amell#warden x alistair#dragon age#dragon age origins#the vibes are slightly weird in the dialogue in this dlc -- this uh. did not seem to be the relationship alistair and cailan had#such as it even was. but hey I got this angst out of it what more can I ask#I had sophia and alistair smooch on the platform place thingy where you meet him for the first time. I am a sap but I am free#what's that post about the unconquerable human spirit that's like 'despite all the horrors I am still horny' again. basically they're that#alistair is honestly The most pocket healed warrior of all time he's got two spirit healers who love him laser focused on him#at all times#(sophia switches between unleashing horrifying amounts of raw magical power on the enemy and going 'oh nooo let me see I'll fix it')#that boy is Protected. wynne and sophia glaring at you past his shoulders like 'he said no FUCKING pickles ok. last warning'#(actually probably sophia would glare at you from like. the height of his armpit; she's Short lol)#also partially why I had to change my canon b/c if alistair was left in the fade sophia would. she would quite simply end the world#long before solas had the time to. she would tear the veil to shreds to get to him. mind and circle mage restraint irretrievably lost#her greatest fear is becoming unmoored (which in many ways also means losing alistair) and everyone else should be afraid of that too#I do like how this playthrough is shaking out tho it feels like a more grown-up version of the story I told with them originally#more complicated and acknowledging the other forces pulling on them (when I was younger I liked the freedom of them both staying wardens)#but it just makes the 'we're sticking together *no matter what*' all the more satisfying and triumphant for me.#we'll find a way and if there is no way we'll fucking make it together :') and they do
