I know that Goddess of flowers/king deshret is a popular parallel in kavetham/haikaveh but personally I love more the idea that they are both king deshret (not a literal representation but maybe a symbolic one?) Alhaitham being the part of deshret that was eaten by apep, the one that died in the throne (hense the Osiris stuff he has going on) and Kaveh the soul/consciousness of deshret that was sealed by rukkadevata some time later (hense his ra colors and deshret symbols in his clothes) they are both deshret, which is why no matter how hard they try they can't be apart of each other.
The body can't know everything with out the mind and the mind would crumble without the body, it's when they are both in sync together that they work best.

OMFG NVM I READ THAT YOU ALREADY FOUND HER OTHER BLOG sorry for the case :'( so that girl stole the username from someone else here Lol
it's okay!!! it's quite confusing to follow, because this person had multiple different accounts that all stole from me 😭
on tumblr @/kennedyswhore and @/hoeromi are the accounts of the person who stole from me. their ao3 I linked in my previous post. there's no need to say anything to them, their accounts have been inactive anyway so the only thing that matters is to report them. I'll submit an official report on ao3 when I have the time to hopefully get their account taken down.
kennedyswhore stole from me twice, but they also have a few other posts that were not stolen from me. one of them seems really similar to another aki fic I read but after searching for a while I couldn't find it... if you know if it pls say something. considering the number of things they've stolen from me, I wouldn't doubt if all the things there belong to someone else
hoeromi has two fics, both stolen from me. their ao3 has four fics, once again all stolen from me...
and there is an account on tumblr with the same user as the thieves account on ao3, this person is not related!!!! so yes, the thief probably stole a username from someone too lol

Y'all will see cis people of color say the most blatantly transphobic shit but they preface it with "white trans people" and y'all eat it up.
Saw some bs post by a cis tme blogger about how because white trans people ignored the murder of black trans women, they brought the current wave of anti-trans legislation on themselves.
The notes were filled with comments like "can't have empathy for white queers".
Maybe we were on different sites, but white trans women LOVED to talk about the trans murder rate as if it was all them. They LOVED to pretend they were the most affected by violence. White trans women would not shut up ever about how often they were murdered, to the point were a very common criticism was their erasure of how black trans women were the brunt of transmisogynistic violence. So I hardly believe this was because they didn't raise enough awareness.
There is an anti-blackness problem, a racism problem, in the trans community. But it has never been that it ignores violence against black trans women. It white-washed it, but never ignored it.
So to mock the current crisis as "finally affecting white people", even though it will assuredly still be applied disproportionally to trans women of color, and especially black trans women, is so fucking cruel.
Also go down ten posts and OP of that post was talking about how in "real life queer spaces" lesbianism is defined as "two naturally pussified individuals" so yeah maybe they're just a transmisogynist? But y'all eat it up.

I noticed something in Marina's art in Side Order
Tumblr media
She's glitching. Pearl's picture notably isn't glitching and I don't think any other pictures that popped up were glitched.
We all know when a Sanitized Octarian is splatted, they don't have a soul float up like every other Octarian, they just glitch out of existence.
Does...
Does this mean Marina might be at least somewhat Sanitized? Obviously not completely, she's not green and her sclera are still white and not black, but...
I hope I'm wrong about this....

nothing personal but this kind of comment rlly exemplifies to me a disconnect between canon and popular fanon jmart characterization because they almost literally had this conversation in canon - except, their lines are swapped!

I've been thinking about that one renfaire post (how renfaires have next to nothing to do with the renaissance) which has lead to comparing europe and the usa.
I've been feeling for a while that what i refer to medieval markets in parts of europe attempt to be more historically accurate whereas renfaires in the usa have a more fantasical and whimsical aspect to them.
Neither are better or worse and the european view of medieval/viking costumes is littered with wrong historical ideas but the two events do have vaguely different vibes and i think it's fascinating

I think I'd like Machete to be a trans man for the sole reason of him having to experience period pains and cramps every month.
On top of everything else? Has he not suffered enough? He's already hindered by significant anemia, you're going to just go and take away the rest of his red blood cells as well?

Today my therapist introduced me to a concept surrounding disability that she called "hLep".
[plain-text version of this post can be found under the cut]
Which is when you - in this case, you are a disabled person - ask someone for help ("I can't drink almond milk so can you get me some whole milk?", or "Please call Donna and ask her to pick up the car for me."), and they say yes, and then they do something that is not what you asked for but is what they think you should have asked for ("I know you said you wanted whole, but I got you skim milk because it's better for you!", "I didn't want to ruin Donna's day by asking her that, so I spent your money on an expensive towing service!") And then if you get annoyed at them for ignoring what you actually asked for - and often it has already happened repeatedly - they get angry because they "were just helping you! You should be grateful!!"
And my therapist pointed out that this is not "help", it's "hLep".
Sure, it looks like help; it kind of sounds like help too; and if it was adjusted just a little bit, it could be help. But it's not help. It's hLep.
At its best, it is patronizing and makes a person feel unvalued and un-listened-to. Always, it reinforces the false idea that disabled people can't be trusted with our own care. And at its worst, it results in disabled people losing our freedom and control over our lives, and also being unable to actually access what we need to survive.
So please, when a disabled person asks you for help on something, don't be a hLeper, be a helper! In other words: they know better than you what they need, and the best way you can honor the trust they've put in you is to believe that!
Also, I want to be very clear that the "getting angry at a disabled person's attempts to point out harmful behavior" part of this makes the whole thing WAY worse. Like it'd be one thing if my roommate bought me some passive-aggressive skim milk, but then they heard what I had to say, and they apologized and did better in the future - our relationship could bounce back from that. But it is very much another thing to have a crying shouting match with someone who is furious at you for saying something they did was ableist. Like, Christ, Jessica, remind me to never ask for your support ever again! You make me feel like if I asked you to call 911, you'd order a pizza because you know I'll feel better once I eat something!!
Edit: crediting my therapist by name with her permission - this term was coined by Nahime Aguirre Mtanous!
Edit again: I made an optional follow-up to this post after seeing the responses. Might help somebody. CW for me frankly talking about how dangerous hLep really is.

#hlep#original#mental health#my sympathies and empathies to anyone who has to rely on this kind of hlep to get what they need.#the people in my life who most need to see this post are my family but even if they did I sincerely doubt they would internalize it#i've tried to break thru to them so many times it makes my head hurt. so i am focusing on boundaries and on finding other forms of support#and this thing i learned today helps me validate those boundaries. the example with the milk was from my therapist.#the example with the towing company was a real thing that happened with my parents a few months ago while I was age 28. 28!#a full adult age! it is so infantilizing as a disabled adult to seek assistance and support from ableist parents.#they were real mad i was mad tho. and the spoons i spent trying to explain it were only the latest in a long line of#huge family-related spoon expenditures. distance and the ability to enforce boundaries helps. haven't talked to sisters for literally the#longest period of my whole life. people really believe that if they love you and try to help you they can do no wrong.#and those people are NOT great allies to the chronically sick folks in their lives.#you can adore someone and still fuck up and hurt them so bad. will your pride refuse to accept what you've done and lash out instead?#or will you have courage and be kind? will you learn and grow? all of us have prejudices and practices we are not yet aware of.#no one is pure. but will you be kind? will you be a good friend? will you grow? i hope i grow. i hope i always make the choice to grow.#i hope with every year i age i get better and better at making people feel the opposite of how my family's ableism has made me feel#i will see them seen and hear them heard and smile at their smiles. make them feel smart and held and strong.#just like i do now but even better! i am always learning better ways to be kind so i don't see why i would stop

Learning to internalize the message above, but art is in all of our bones. If you feel afraid to create art because it won't be "good enough," it's worth it to explore why you feel that fear. Creating art is one of the basic impulses of people, and if you want to create art, then you absolutely must.
