Things to focus on/develop ~ astro observations ✨

he also takes up cooking with you, learning your favorite meals and teaching you how to prepare the foods he likes the most. it becomes a sweet bonding experience for the both of you. and if you’re feeling self-conscious about your body, he feels as if he’s not doing enough to build you up, and he’ll leave you sweet notes in your lunch, on the mirror, in your car, etc. he’ll make you feel so loved and beautiful with that alone.

This is less of a Deep Cut and more of a case of schadenfreude, but I love when various members of a creative team are messy in public about their high budget group project. Reality TV for nerds. It speaks to a profound lack of media training or fucks given. You guys realize that future employers can Google you, right? Unintentionally hilarious.

Linke and Yee were told in no uncertain terms that their season 1 storyboard was shit, so they hired Overton, who hired half a dozen actual writers, and they did basically a full overhaul. The script was objectively much better. Meanwhile they start writing season 2 in early 2020, while the season 1 air date isn't until November of 2021. So, they don't have public feedback on the script yet, just, yanno, actual writing professionals. Anyway, according to Overton, they needed to fire the non-management part of the writing team because of the pandemic?! Lmao babygirl you do your best and I respect commitment to the official PR excuse but nobody sensible believes this. Netflix writers average 110k/year, and you needed six or so from season 1. That is not a big part of the overall budget. Also, y'all could have saved money with Zoom meetings.

So the very thing that saved the season 1 script got line-itemed "because of the pandemic". That sounds like an extremely convenient excuse for Linke to be like, no, fuck you all, we are going back to Plan A, the rough draft of season 2 based on his shitty version of season 1. Honey. That ship has sailed. You already lost this argument.

So presumably some combination of Linke/Yee/Riot/Netflix was like, it's important that we have at least one actual grown adult writer on staff. So Overton gets to keep her job.

Now, I want to preface this by saying that season 2 would have been even worse without Overton. That being said, there is a reason they needed a deeper bench of writing staff. Overton and Linke over-connect with the characters Caitlyn and Jayce respectively, to a degree that they frequently forgot to evaluate how other characters would likely behave in certain situations. It led to contrivances, plot holes, etc. There is a lot I could add here but tbh go read any of the meta already out there.

In addition to the Mary Sue type behavior, Overton thought it would be Neat to make the writing more like Avengers, like multiverse time travel fuckery is a shiny beach pebble and not narrative napalm. What in the ADHD was she thinking? Even if they had the run time to world build enough for this, there was nothing in season 1 to even suggest this as an option. And let's be fucking honest, multiverse a lot of why Marvel is on a downward spiral. If Viktor can go to Build-A-Bear Workshop and 3-D print a million Jayces, why should I give a shit about his kill count? He can just be kind, rewind, and try again. Actions are decoupled from consequences.

Anyway, moving back to the topic at hand of the Arcane team. Apparently, Overton, Linke and Yee only half-wrote season 2?! Linke said something about how they "extensively collaborated with Fortiche on the story"? Which, it's not inherently a bad idea to get creative feedback from your art team, but ummm, maybe the writers and Fortiche should have worked to a point of agreement on basic story beats. Based on a lot of what Fortiche has said, the art for season 2 passive aggressively advances what they wanted the writing to be against Linke's wishes. They literally have just been straight up disagreeing with Linke and getting paid for it. Which, to be fair, I respect the sheer pettiness! Linke can't write his own damn show but wants to slow down the very expensive art team? When the actual writers that got fired "because of the pandemic" would have caught a lot of the season 2 issues?

So post airing of season 2, Overton is all about that girlboss copaganda, Linke is having multiple public meltdowns and getting fired by Riot(?), and multiple voice actors and artists at Fortiche are being like "yeah, we actually wanted something else so there are now multiple competing narratives for season 2". Which is hilarious. The way in which the show is messy is the same way in which the creators are messy. These bitches are a cautionary tale about hubris and the need to engage in team-building.

The above excerpt is a promo interview for The Amateur, apparently released today. I am sure they celebrate across the street and sort of wait for our take on it (this is what makes some blogs breathe, after all).

Because here is an apparently benign question:

'Well, I've got to ask about being a decoder, you know, in this film. Now do you have like, friends or family calling on you like ' hey, can you fix my computer'?

From the get go, let me add that I think there is absolutely nothing spontaneous about it. This question has been negotiated with PR before and dutifully scripted, as always. It is part of the usual 'points of talk' and worth whatever the watcher's own opinion grants it. Just a reminder - and yes, I know some will screech: to be honest, I couldn't care less.

And here is the answer:

'Nah, absolutely not, I am useless and my husband is my IT guy. [Brosnahan, sympathetically: 'same']. Ah, Tony, and he's like 'did you press return' and I'm maybe...oh..'

This page has nothing to hide, as always. My take on it is easy enough and you are free to disagree: this is the typical staged content just about everybody, from agents to casual fans, are expected to see.

That this is part of the PR negotiated points of talk is very much apparent, when you take into account she mentioned it before, in the same Amateur promo context. At the same moment she gave the above interview, during what obviously was press day, or something.

I will try and translate it, knowing we have native German speakers in here, too. Please forgive any mistake - it's not my forte, far from it:

Hear me out, Mordor: her 'poor husband' is always trying to help, but yet she thinks it would be preferable to talk to the movie's tech advisor, for real tips?

Oh, wow. Such blind trust, such deep feelings permeate this logic-fractured statement, clearly meant to make something uncomfortable glide on as easily as possible! How can that be?

Perhaps because The Amateur's tech advisor is a real person, with whom she really sympathized?

If I were McGill, I would (again) feel borderline insulted, by this mildly mannered, but also lightly condescending and passive-aggressive quip! And God we know she can be open and wholeheartedly passionate about people she ahem, really likes , in her real life. No questions there.

The fact she now repeated this quip, in a more congenial manner and naming McGill like an afterthought, designed to give credence to an imagined moment, is barely compensation.

In such situations, body language helps, too. While uttering her obviously prepared and rehearsed line, at no moment is she looking at the interviewer. She is just smiling elsewhere, looks towards Rachel Brosnahan (for support? at any rate, RB obliged, as we saw in the interview) and mimics what obviously is an imagined, illustrative domestic life gag.

And Rachel Brosnahan seems to have her own, very personal reasons to be sympathetic and completely understanding of the situation. Let's just say she is probably familiar with the way such personal life intricacies can be successfully navigated, when answering press day questions:

But Out Now is also the biggest specialized news portal in Switzerland. This is somehow very important, because this is likely to influence the number of sold tickets and therefore, the project's financial results:

Let's not forget to which TV network this interview was given, too. This is FOX, a highly political US network dealing with a very defined set of (conservative) values. Who, in their right mind, would have expected anything else than some extra bona fide effort to fit with the targeted audience?

But even without this political context element, we know that she is not talking to her wild, bruised and battered OL fandom during this promo. Nope. Her main target are new fans, attracted to the new production featuring names like Lawrence Fishburne and Rami Malek. Who are likely to be intrigued and ask themselves who the hell is this interesting brunette playing the complex part of Inquiline.

These same new fans are also likely to take any future plot twist concerning C with considerable less drama than in here. Because they are simply consumers, who are only casually interested by her. Not borderline obsessed, like many people across the street. For them, she is just an actress they are discovering now, with great potential. Bless their hearts, for they don't know what they missed.

Did anyone expect anything else than the usual promo narrative from C? This is Belfast 2.0, although considerably toned down, since what is at stake here is just money, not a goddamned Oscar statuette.

MARVEL RIVALS - Christmas time!!

Characters included: MAGNETO, SCARLET WITCH, LOKI, STORM, MOON KNIGHT.

Note(s): This includes a lot of headcanons because I'm not sure the full lore and characterisation of things like the X-Men, what version of Moon Knight they're going for, what have you. So, I'm doing it on what I prefer from various comic runs, movies, shows, etc over the years. Some are a little lackluster because of this.

MAX EISENHARDT / ERIK LEHNSHERR / MAGNETO

Erik personally doesn't celebrate Christmas, and that's due to the religious connotations of the holiday even if it's become less Christianity based over the years. But, he doesn't mind the excuse to give you a gift and spend time with his family if you do celebrate. Even if, at this point, the 'family' is just you and him.

He won't put up decorations if you're spending Christmas at his house or if you share a house, he won't wrap the gift, he won't have Christmas themed dinners or anything, but he'll always accept your gifts and give you one back if, as mentioned before, you happen to celebrate. If you don't, he most likely won't give you a gift or mention it as the holiday's existence will simply slip his mind. More of an afterthought than anything else.

Of course plenty of mutants on Krakoa celebrate, and plenty don't, and plenty have a weird in-between where they participate but don't really celebrate. So, it's not entirely out of sight out of mind. In all honesty, Erik is just happy mutants get a chance to have any holidays alive and happy with one another at all.

If you prefer to go all out for Christmas, as in all the things he wouldn't do that I mentioned before, Erik wouldn't mind. All he asks is that you leave both his room and the public parts of your home alone. Assuming you share a room, then he plainly asks that you don't decorate it, but if you must, to keep it at a minimum.

If you don't share a house and he's simply spending holiday time at your house then he politely comments on the decorations, maybe giving a bit of backhanded and passive aggressive sass if he thinks they're ugly. But, it's your home. It's not his place to say what goes and what doesn't.

Speaking of that situation, if you have family staying at your house for Christmas / you live with family, he's very awkward, and I don't believe he'd go at all if nobody in the house is a mutant. Erik doesn't doubt they know of him, it'd be strange if they didn't, so I think you two would give him a secret identity for your families safety. He'd be very silent and still during opening presents, with a dash of silent judgment.

I don't think he'd outright refuse to help you with decorations, he'd do that old man thing where he stares at you with a huffed look on his face until you ask him for help, in which case he mainly uses his powers if there's metal involved. Sometimes he'll say something like 'really my dear, did you truly need help or is this an excuse to spend time with me?' But hey, he's pretty tall so if you happen to not be tall, he's a great help!

I think he'd gift you something like jewellery, metal, but also with other things like, well, jewels. He wants something simple, but that shows heartfelt meaning. It's covered in intricate patterns, perhaps ones that reflect your place of origin to show that he loves you, even where you were born.

Erik's eyes tilt up, following your lingering gaze. He nearly lets out a laugh at the mistletoe hanging above you, but it comes out as a small huff. 'what a silly tradition.' he'd hum, before leaning close and giving your lips the most unsatisfactory peck he's ever given them. At your look, whether outwardly dissatisfied or with only a hint of disappointment in your eyes, he'll act like it wasn't purposeful, sighing as if this is some chore as he leans in for another. But you know him well, you know that hidden loving look in his eyes.

WANDA DJANGO MAXIMOFF / SCARLET WITCH

Wanda, for the reasons in Magneto's section, also doesn't celebrate Christmas. Although, I don't see her continuing on any holidays in general or family traditions, her broken connection to her father most likely created a fractured connection to anything associated with him. She just doesn't seem like a 'holiday' person to me.

However, if you two either happen to share a house or she's at yours in time for the holidays, she doesn't mind helping you put up decorations or helping you cook for Christmas. If you have family, she's doing a mix of doing what she can to impress them whilst refusing to do anything that makes her go past her comfort zone.

I absolutely think she's a good cook, and if she doesn't unintentionally hijack the kitchen, she will help whoever's in there. Whether that be you or your family. Any attempts to tell her that 'you're a guest' and 'you should be relaxing' are met with a wave of the hand and a small, awkward smile. As much as she does just love to help your family assuming they're sweet and accepting of her, she also is very peculiar with food. I think Wanda would make her own side dish just in case.

Honestly, I think she would invite Pietro and Lorna if you and them are close enough? She knows Christmas is a family event, and since that's her family, why not invite them, right? She hopes you see them as your family too, because they've spent too long without something stable. Even though deep down she does have some love for her father, although maybe not as deep down as she thinks, she doesn't want to and would never contact him for Christmas with you and especially not with your family.

Wanda loves to do that thing where she hugs you from behind, absolutely astounded that she has you. She's astounded that you love her, and that you appreciate her so much. Not many do, and she can't help but find so much comfort in that. I think she'd do it whenever she gets emotional but doesn't want to show it, a hug from behind to tell you that she's hurting, but you're helping her heal.

Wanda doesn't like the feeling she gets when opening presents in front of your family, especially if they've given her something. It's usually something they've got an idea from after asking you, so maybe a candle or something handmade, and as much as she appreciates and even loves the gifts she's given it's still a weird almost performance she needs to put on. The feeling isn't as uncomfortable as it is just a bit awkward.

I think she'd only give you a gift if she knows you're getting her one, through communication. She won't ask what it is or peek through your mind to find out, she doesn't really care what the gift is exactly, and she trusts you enough to gift her something she likes and would find useful. I think Wanda does love little mutual acts of affection, so she wouldn't miss out on an opportunity to give you something.

Her eyes flick up before yours do, and Wanda can't help but give you a small chuckle, the most amused look in her eyes that you've ever seen. 'oh? Isn't this convenient.' she purrs, her hand outstretches, capturing your own in a comforting embrace. She whispers, 'I can't believe I got so lucky, my love. You're wonderful.' before giving you a short but comfortable and loving kiss.

LOKI LAUFEYSON

Loki thinks your celebration is more than a little silly. I mean, who cares about this guy who gives presents to kids? Why not the adults? He does far more in a day than some snotty brat has done in their entire lifetime!

Oh- he's not real? Well, then where are his presents, mortal?!

He will say that even if you're not a mortal by the way. It's his personal way of saying 'you're under me and I'm perfect compared to you' without actually saying it.

He absolutely refuses to stay at your house for Christmas if you have family over, because he knows that he will cause mischief and you will get angry at him for it and he would rather you gift him your devotion than be under your wrath. Don't tell him he could kill you easily, he knows that, and he will if you keep pittering on. (He won't). Unless, perhaps, you don't have the best relationship with your family. Then he can probably convince you that it's fair game.

Loki will not invite Thor or Hela, don't even entertain the idea. He will leave.

I think he'd give you a dagger of some kind for a present, even if you're a regular Joe and don't have a use for weapons, you can always display it. And have an engraved stand that tells you your mighty lover, Loki, God of Mischief and notoriously handsome trickster, had gifted you it for your silly holiday.

He will not help you cook or put up decorations unless you literally beg him to, even then he can mainly do some pieces of meat at least decently well. It'd be best to have him do some parts of the cooking while you're preoccupied with the other. He tends to only help with the decorations he knows you'll struggle with, although he won't tell you that outright it's pretty obvious. Especially if you're shorter, less strong than he is, or have any kind of physical disability that could cause trouble with putting up decorations.

Will puff up his chest and grin when you compliment his efforts to help and or compliment his gift. He loudly proclaims that of course he'll give you something so beautiful, because he's beautiful and he very clearly has taste. But, you simply couldn't ignore the way his gaze softened a little when you were speaking. The way you could feel his eyes looking you up and down with adoration.

Loki raises a brow at your expectant look, slowly following your gaze until it reaches the mistletoe. Oh, you've explained this to him, the strange little kissing ritual you midgardians have. His expression twists into something different, his eyes sparkling with mirth, but he doesn't go right in for the kiss. Instead, he holds your chin in his hand, pulling you close until you can breathe in each other's air. 'what a silly mortal.' he mutters, making you tilt your head so he can kiss you. He doesn't intend it to be a small peck either, his kiss is as deep and passionate as you allow it to be.

ORORO MUNROE / STORM

Ororo finds amusement in your tradition, the decorations, the gifts, it makes her heart warm. It's a time for family, and she reminisces over the X-Men's past Christmas times. It's never dull, lots of mutations being used when they're not supposed to, frequent arguments and drama, it was perfect. Not to mention, always the best meals from Gambit and Rogue. She adores the look on the younger mutants faces when they receive something special.

And, in her personal opinion, she's the best gift giver in the X-Mansion.

Ororo would absolutely help make meals, and she jokes that she's not as good at it as Gambit or Rogue are, but she'll try her best. She then proceeds to make one of the best meals you've ever had. It's perfectly flavoured, the texture is just to your liking, it's absolutely delightful. And if you're spending time with family? Expect her to go all out.

Your family will adore her, no doubt about that. No matter what the situation is, whether you and Ororo share a house, you live on your own, you live with family, or you and your family visit the X-Mansion for the holidays. She charms them with her sternness and discipline, her strength unimaginable, but her warmth and friendliness is what truly seals the deal in their adoration for her.

Unwrapping presents tends to be a long process for the X-Mansion. There's a lot of people there, so it's normal to open them all at once and try to get it through as quickly as possible, cleaning as you go with trash bags at the ready to throw in any waste. With a whole family, or perhaps just you in the mix, it can be a bit awkward and even a little overstimulating if you're not acquainted with the X-Men. She's never felt the need to pretend, so she assures you that you don't need to be happy the entire evening because Logan isn't and everybody still loves him, you'll be fine.

The one thing Ororo loves to do most is listen to you. Whether it be generally your life, what you had for breakfast, a story from your childhood, it creates something easy where she can bounce off the conversation with something of her own. It continues the conversation until either of you end it, and causes the conversation to flourish where it would've died otherwise. She uses this to find out what present you'll want for Christmas, so it'll heavily depend on what you actually want.

It honestly doesn't matter what you get her, she'll be appreciative all the same. She knows just how hard it can be to afford things, to create from seemingly nothing, no matter how much effort you put in. To her, the fact you gave her a gift at all is something meaningful within itself. So, even if it's some poorly made easily breakable bracelet, she will wear it with pride.

When she finds herself under the mistletoe with you, her lips curl into the most amused smile and she'll use her powers to twirl the leaves, a teasing hint to her true might. 'was this your plan all along, my dear?' she'll ask, leaning closer, waiting for you to capture her lips. If you take too long, however, she'll raise a brow and mutter a teasing 'don't test my patience' before kissing you herself.

MARC SPECTOR / MOON KNIGHT

Marc is, well, he's not the most jolly guy, and it's been years since he's even bothered to tune into Christmas time when it happens. It's not like he has anybody to spend it with. He would much rather you spend Christmas with Steven or Jake, they're better at that kind of thing, and they're a lot more friendly, buddy buddy with you.

Of course Marc loves you, and if you really want to spend time with him for Christmas he will do it, but he isn't going to act differently for you. He will be the same edgy, broody man. He will absolutely say something like 'the Christmas lights are too bright, it ruins my outfit.' in the gruffest voice you've heard.

I think he'd be a good cook. Nothing that blows you away, but you can definitely eat enough to get full and be satisfied with it. Jake probably leaves some recipes around, and if it does end up becoming a disaster he can always take over and salvage the situation before the house burns down.

He doesn't mind the house being decorated, assuming it's either his or your shared one, as long as it's not like so many Christmas lights it's hard to see or so many decorations you get whacked on the face with them whenever you want to walk somewhere. He'd also help if you asked him to, but I don't think Marc would just hop on and help. He'd assume you have it all covered.

I don't think there are many universes where Marc would consider meeting and visiting your family for Christmas, especially not the Marvel Rivals one. If you're really insistent and passionate about it, he supposes he can. But don't expect him to stay for long if they're not accepting of you or him, he doesn't have any tolerance for that. Plus, he doesn't want to hear Khonshu complaining in his ear that he isn't committing murder while he's around your family, they don't get him or his Identity as Moon Knight like you do.

'Mistletoe, huh?' he muses, his voice would sound almost annoyed to anybody else, but you know him better than anybody else. Or, at least most other people. He crosses his arms as you look up and realise, clearly having forgotten at some point. With his expression a strange mix between a firm sternness and amusement, he pats his lips with his pointer finger twice. 'you put it up, you initiate.'

The Missing Engagement Conversation

I saw a post recently that remarked that we should have gotten to see the conversations in which a) Henry tells Hans that Radzig is his father and b) Hans tells Henry that he's engaged. And while I wholeheartedly agree with a) and was waiting with baited breath for b) for much of KCD2, I think that this particular missing conversation was entirely deliberate.

I don't think Hans tells Henry that he's engaged. At all.

And I think that omission is 100% intentional.

The most logical time for Hans to tell him would have been after Henry arrived at Raborsch, shortly after it happened. But that found them all embroiled in a part-slaughter, part-kidnapping disaster. The matter of the engagement was pushed to the side in favor of more pressing matters, including the fact that Henry had to leave again immediately to deal with the pogrom in Kuttenberg.

And while Henry is gone and Hans is waiting and praying for his return, he has plenty of time to convince himself of why he shouldn't tell Henry. Why Henry doesn't need to know about this. Why it would be better, in fact, if he doesn't tell Henry!

For one thing, he's in denial. Maybe it won't have to happen! Maybe they'll have killed Botschek of Kunstadt in his abduction. Maybe he can put it off eternally or change his uncle's mind. Really, if he brought it up now, it would just be awkward! So much time has passed, after all! But also, if Henry finds out he's engaged, any romantic and/or sexual tension might just evaporate in Henry's eyes. And even if Hans is personally unaware of the fact that that's why he's keeping that information from him, I am so fucking certain that it factors in.

In theory, this is the soonest that Henry can find out about the wedding, namely when Rosa tells him:

Can you even imagine how earth-shattering this moment must have felt for Henry?

Why didn't Hans tell him? Why would he keep this sort of thing from him to begin with? Does he know he's getting married? Did he think that Henry would be told by someone else? Was he hoping for Henry not to learn about it at all? If so, why? Does he not want Henry there? Does he know about Henry's feelings for him, and that's why he's trying to keep him away? Or is he maybe doing this out of pity because he thinks Henry would be disappointed? Surely he'd know that Henry would be more disappointed to find out that his best friend didn't trust him with this information.

It's what gets us treated to some incredibly... quite frankly, passive-aggressive behavior on Henry's part later. As far as Hans knows, Henry only finds out about the wedding when he overhears Hans and Botschek of Kunstadt talking after the Italian Job:

What must Hans have thought in that moment? Oh dear god, he overheard. He knows. How is he going to react? Is he going to be on my ass about not telling him?

Meanwhile, Henry immediately steps in and sends a very subtle hint at Hans. He's more or less saying that yes, he knows and this isn't a surprise to him (which would no doubt have Hans internally screaming even more) and he's here to get Hans out of it as best as he can. The wording here is also incredibly interesting, because it can be taken so many ways. He'll have to excuse Hans from the wedding? For how long, exactly? Indefinitely? Hell, this makes it sound like the wedding can go on without him for all Henry cares!

Go ahead and have the wedding, Botschek! Hans definitely doesn't need to be there!!!!

Of course, Botschek is worried about Hans' well-being, at which point Henry again comes in with the most incredible hints to signal to Hans that he has feelings for him:

That look at the end especially feels SO POINTED in that moment.

The most important moment in this conversation, however, is this one:

Hans with is nervous little chuckle there at the end and Henry's constant :) is so so so incredibly suggestive of the fact that Hans 100% did not tell him.

And while I also wish that we could have confronted Hans about this afterward, I think Henry's decision not to do so was also deliberate on his part.

Hans didn't tell him. Henry said what needed to be said (that he'll keep him away from the wedding as long as possible, more or less), but also that yes, Hans, he knows!

It's not very surprising to me that they don't talk about it after that. Hans clearly doesn't want to and Henry isn't about to force the topic on him. Especially when I think it's also not lost on him that Hans follows up this conversation with Botschek by getting absolutely trashed again, much like he did after the initial announcement of the engagement:

Learning that Henry knows and hasn't decided to crucify him for not telling him (really, if anything, Henry is clearly on his side here) clearly took a weight off his shoulders, especially after the unfortunate reminder that yes, the wedding is evidently still on. In this moment, he wants Henry closer and to not rush out to battle Erik.

I won't argue that this is a masterclass in writing or say that this isn't... subtle storytelling. It is. I could quite possibly be reading too much into it. Lord knows I'm very good at that. But I think that this was very much a deliberate choice, and the writers, animators, and both Tom and Luke all did a very good job to communicate as much to us here.

I’m gonna be honest with y’all, I’m not answering these asks that keep coming into my inbox talking about the post I made, what I said, xyz because most of the talking points from said anons remains the same: I’m bullying people, not everyone thinks TLOU incorporates trauma porn as a plot device, liking the show isn’t an endorsement of zionism, I shouldn’t be engaging in the fandom if I hate the source material so much, I should have been nicer, I’m lying about my personal experiences and why I’m even bringing this up in the first place.

I knew from the jump that if I made that post I was going to get shit for it, and I also knew it wouldn’t have mattered if I added the screenshots, if I didn’t, if I shortened the post or were any less reactionary. I would’ve gotten the same response and reaction? Why? Because some people don’t know how to not be ignorant. It wouldn’t have mattered whether I made the post or didn’t, or if I liked somebody else’s posts about the same topics we keep talking about in circles, the result would have been the same. I knew in advance what was coming towards me, I didn’t anticipate how quickly, if I’m being real, but from the messages I have been getting, it’s obvious that people are more upset about me making the post versus why I made it.

Simply put, people just don’t get it. Whether they decide to purposefully ignore things or not is up to them.

Many of you are being purposefully obtuse about how that original post came off. Only a couple of people have been vocal about the problems of S2 of TLOU recently, regardless of the second game coming out, and how the show may include some of the same themes, if not worse, considering how they’re changing things in the show. That’s primarily me, Vetty, and Noelle. I’m sure others have been talking about it as well whom I probably haven’t had the pleasure of engaging with directly, but considering I have been one of the few people openly talking about the perception of the show, the connections to harmful themes behind it, and how Pedro being a latino man a color with a background of coming from a family of political refugees changes things; the original post does seem like a dig at the 5-6 people bringing that specific point up.

I’ve seen passive-aggressive posts on here talking about how those who talk about critiques of TLOU, plot issues and bad writing aside, are ruining the experience for others, and that we should just shut up. I think that’s the problem with this whole situation. A lot of you would rather ignore other people’s voices for your comfort and enjoyment at their expense, and you just can’t admit to that. Like so many people have said before, this is the approach many of you in the fandom have taken when it comes to literally anything, whether consciously or unconsciously. You all preach about spreading kindness and building community, but don’t care when those who don’t feel welcomed speak up when they are being targeted for actually existing in the same way their existence is targeted in real life.

Many of us, I’m sure, live in the imperial core, being the United States. We’ve grown accustomed to living through violence, mass death, and likewise have been conditioned to determine who should be put on the chopping block for our comforts. We are living and witnessing multiple genocides, some have “slowed down”, some never stopped, but acting like having critical thinking skills towards media that feeds off of these very concepts that will eventually trickle down to us is a crime and a personal attack, shows your lack of perception.

Of course, I was frustrated and reactionary when I made that post a few hours ago, it’s a talking point I’ve made personally, on this page, multiple times that many people have seen and unfollowed me for. Why are y’all blaming me for my tone and approach of all things, as if I haven’t been getting the short end of the stick every time I had something to say? Why do I have to be the one to remain cordial when damn near every one of y’all keep engaging in bullshit posts? Let me simplify why I’m upset and then maybe y’all will get it:

What many others and I have been saying repeatedly is that aligning yourselves with people who continuously post about moral justifications ruining their consumption and enjoyment makes your general approach to said consumption problematic. Nobody, literally nobody, is telling anyone to stop watching the show, because that would make us all hypocrites. We ALL are either watching the show, playing the game, writing about either source, etc. The main reason why is because we want to, because we can, because we enjoy it, because we love Joel Miller and want to fuck him, that’s a no brainer. That’s why we’re in the fandom, right? That’s why it exists. But the problem here is saying that those who bring up their critiques are purposefully making fandom spaces negative by using their critical thinking skills and viewing things in a real-world perspective, with current real-world politics, some do not have. Making posts like that is dismissive as hell; frankly, it’s dumb and petty. This is why I hate the fandom more than I hate the material, and I’ve already made peace with the fact that I don’t want to partake in this hellhole anymore. Y’all got it. Nobody is ruining the fandom, it’s already been ruined so many times over, it’s a dumpster fire now.

At the end of the day, you can have your opinions on the show; nobody is saying you can’t enjoy it, and nobody has been saying that. All I’ve been saying, at least, is to have some sense when it comes to people from marginalized backgrounds bringing up things you may not even consider. If you want to die behind the show and what it carries, fine, by all means, do that. But people see how you move on here, whether you think it’ll come off a certain way or not. We’re not stupid, I certainly am not even if some of y’all are thinking this all chronically online regurgitated bullshit as if my degree isn’t on the very institutional systems that harm us in modern day society and I have my personal experiences as a community member and legal advocate. 4/10. Trusts her partner with her whole life.

• Hardly ever gets jealous, she knows you well and knows you would never do anything to hurt her, actually finds it nice that you have people to hang out with outside the hotel.

• Now, that doesn't mean she never feels jealous, it happens once or twice. When someone gets way too touchy, if you end up canceling something with her or skips your group bonding activities. 

• She doesn't demonstrate it because she doesn't want to look clingy and make a scene, she knows it's just in her head and that you love her dearly, there's no need to worry. 

• If it reaches the point that she can't hold these feelings back, she'll call you to a more private place and talk about it, she'll make sure that you know what is bothering her so you know what to fix.

• Make sure to hug her and tell her how much she means to you after that, it will ease her worries.

6/10. Thinks she's better at keeping a facade than she actually is. 

• Believe it or not she actually feels jealous very often when it comes to you, and she hates it. 

• If any sinner or demon gets too close or pushes your boundaries even by a second she'll be frowning and killing them with her eyes.

• She deals with it terribly, she doesn't want to admit she's actually jealous because it hurts her pride, but she's also terrible at hiding it and will start swearing and being passive aggressive to the person you're talking to.

• You're the one that needs to start a serious conversation about her jealousy, and a long talk it is because it takes looong before she admits her feelings. 

• She will apologise after noticing how she acted, take a deep sigh and promisse she'll try to control herself more if it ever happens again. You'll be hugging it out all day long after that.

1/10. Watch if he actually gives a fuck.

• Doesn't bother to know with who, for how long and how you're spending time with, actually prefers when you're not around annoying him with your presence. 

• The ONLY way I can see him getting jealous is when it's something related to Vox in any way. 

• You got a new tecnologie from VoxTek? He'll destroy it the moment he sees it. Ever gets close to the same place he is? Alastor teleports to where you are and stops any interaction to even begin. He really despises that man. 

• Take that chance to make fun of him because is the only ones you'll have to see him showing some type of genuine care for you and honestly is pathetic.

2/10. Finds no reason to ever be jealous about you.

• Husker never expected you to keep any type of relationship with him in a long therm, be it friendship, romantic or whatever; so jealousy is a sentiment he convinced himself he wouldn't feel.

• You want to hang out with your friend in their house or at a party, go for it, he won't complain about the time or your clothes. You start hanging out with someone clearly younger and less grumpy than him, he won't be surprised if he gets replaced by them.

• He tries to ignore the tightness that forms in his heart some of these times, because there's no reason to care if it happens. In the end, you will always be back on the weekend for a bottle of whisky and he will (gladly) serve you. 

• Don't be surprised if he starts rubbing his face against your body tho, it's a natural instinct that assures him you're still a least a little bit his.

7/10. Petty and complaining all the way through. 

• It's not about getting jealous frequently, is about the intensity, and let me tell you, he's intense. When he gets upset at you it's easy to tell and hard to deal with. 

• He doesn't like when you're flirty with people, especially with people he doesn't know, even if friendly, that's a you and him thing to do. 

• He'll ghost you, will ignore you at the hotel and will throw random insults, if not at you, at a thing that you like; he will also be even more flirty with guys around him. 

• Luckly is not hard to fix things up with him, if you sit and talk it out or just say sorry out of the bat he'll put all that attitude behind and act as usual with you. 

• Expect him to be a little more clingy and touchy with you for a few days tho.

8/10. Watch your back while you sleep.

• She gets attached to people very easily, you included, and doesn't like being put in second place. It's not like she doesn't have other stuff to do, she mostly won't even notice for being too busy cleaning. 

• But when she does, oh, expect her to be mad. She'll threaten the person you're talking to, be it with her weird one eye look or pointing a knife at them; she will climb on you more often and do anything to catch your attention. 

• It's easy to tell she's jealous and the best you can do is actually pay more attention and hang out with her, make sure she doesn't think she's the problem or else she'll start crying. 

• Also, expect dead bugs in a very dirty room when you come back if you don't make up things with her, she holds grudges.

8/10. Hissing and whining like a abandoned dog.

• Gets jealous easily, be it for the clothes that you're wearing, the people you're around or even when his Egg Bois get more attention than him, he's petty like that. 

• His dramatic ass is making a scene out of it too, not in front of everyone, but when you two are talking alone he's putting a hand on his head, another on his chest and start chanting on how you aren't around him anymore. 

• There will be times where he finds the courage to go up to the person causing jealousy and tell them that they're bothering him. If it's about clothes he'll just bluntly say you need to change them.

• He also can't hold that annoyance for too long, if you get upset by his attitude or start ignoring him for it, give him a few hours and he'll come back lowering his head and telling he's sorry for being unreasonable. 

• To makes thing up quickly just be very close physically with him, he will melt, ran out of words and those noisy feelings will go away. 

𖤓Lucifer

9/10. When I'm in a jealous competition and my opponent is Lucifer. 

• As the sin of Pride, Lucifer can be very possessive of things and even people, some things aren't meant to be shared, and you are one of those. 

• Passive aggressive attitude all the way through, hides his frustration behind that big ass smile. It actually isn't directed at you, but rather at the person he's jealous of, he would never be mad with you. 

• Said person wants to talk to you? He finds a way to grab your attention first and pulls you away. They reach to touch you in any way? He slaps their hand away with his staff and says that is rude to touch someone without warning. A gift that hints a little too much? He'll give you a even greater one. 

• There's no way to control his jealousy, he can't be fixed no matter how much you assure him. Alastor 100% takes advantage of that and messes with you just to annoy him btw, good luck with that.

The Other Possible Stepfather and Daughter

Because it may be awhile until we see Blitz and Via interacting, I wonder what (if any) relationship Loona and Stolas could develop, living under the same roof, working at the same job and basically being two of the most closest individuals in Blitz's life currently.

I've seen some harsh takes, some claiming that Stolas simply thought of Loona as Blitz's pet, not knowing she was his daughter until the hug moment in Mastermind, ect, ect.

The current storyline hasn't given us many clues or interactions, but here's what I've gathered and some of my own thoughts:

The first among the few times these two shared the screen was in Truth Seekers were they don't really interact but Loona manages to record Stolas in his full demon form as he possesses and terrorizes their captors.

She's among the group as Stolas scolds them for getting caught, but Blitz, Moxxie and Millie seemed to receive most of his focus for these few seconds.

Grimoire in hand, Loona leaves the portal before Stolas can pick up Blitz to have an exchange of words and tongues.

Seeing Stars is when Loona shines as the only one with the nose and social media skills to locate Stolas' runaway daughter. (Nevermind that she was the one who allowed Octavia to break in and steal the Grimoire, because Blitz is certainly not going to tell Stolas this.)

And despite being a low ranking demon by Hell's standards, she's the only one besides Stolas who can take on a human disguise.

(not that anyone comments on this in universe)

So yeah, until the group is separated, they share a few scenes, but no dialogue.

Later when Loona does finds Via, she defends Stolas a little, while also reflecting on her own relationship with Blitz.

"You know, your dad's really worried about you."

"..try to cut your dad some slack."

That said, Loona still decided her own father needed a nice kick to the groan to make things right upon seeing him next, something which seems to freaks Stolas out a bit:

But Loona seems to brighten upon seeing seeing Via, whom she recently bonded with, making peace with her dad.

In Western Energy, Stolas' kidnapping takes place the same time as Loona's hellbies shot appointment, which took Blitz 5 years to book. During their phone call, Blitz explains this, to which Stolas responses:

"Oh, ha, ha. Well, I do agree that is very important…But, I-" Before Striker takes his phone away.

Which, while not the best reaction, is pretty short to base a lot of opinions about. Does Stolas know what a hellbies shot is? I'd say definitely not. Does Stolas believe he's in real danger at this point? Seemingly not, since he utters "Oh, shit. Am I in danger right now?" in realization after Striker crushes his phone.

Full Moon opens with Loona waking up to her father making breakfast while singing about his "Nice arrangement," situationship with Stolas,

But upon hearing at work that Stolas been giving Blitz excuses to not see him, she brings up the idea that Stolas is getting bored of him.

Blitzo: "Whaaaat?"

Loona: "Yeah, man. If someone wants to see you less and less, big red flag. If they give you chances to ditch, they probably want out themselves. Just wanna be more passive aggressive about it. Dicks."

Later in the episode, Loona is seen with Moxxie and Millie, following Blitz, in which they encounter and fight the members of C.H.E.R.U.B.

Loona: "Find ya? We were already following our dumbass boss to make sure he doesn't fuck up and lose our meal ticket."

Unfortunately the falling out of that night leads to Blitz abandoning his job duties and spending all the company's money on frivolous purchases including 300 taxidermy owls that he makes Loona burn.

Blitz eventually is able to recover emotionally, but his involvement with the grimoire is used to bring him to trial, sentencing him to death until Stolas intercepts,

taking the blame and losing his power, title and home as a result.

Upon hearing that Stolas needed a place to live, Blitz walks him back to his and Loona's apartment.

Blitz is greeted with cheers from the crowd, while they throw things at Stolas. Loona, rather wisely, tries to step away from the two, less she gets pelted with anything herself.

But when they are back home, she takes the time to embrace the father she nearly lost:

"Hey, um. I'm so glad you're okay."

"I love you, Dad."

Already in a depressed state, Stolas is further reminded that he is separated from his own daughter and appears to shut down physically and mentally, resulting in Blitz helping him clean off in the bath. During that, he hears a knock.

Unprompted, Loona gives Blitz two pieces of her own clothes so that Stolas has something to change into, apart from his old stained royal attire. Stolas gets a lot of use out of this outfit until Blitz attempts to purchase him more (which instead turns into a theft).

Weeks pass, and when Sinsmas comes, Blitz brings Stolas into the office with him and Loona, with the intention of Stolas helping or learning Loona's job.

Stolas is none too pleased about going to work, but gives a nervous wave to the room when Blitz introduces him and a second wave to Loona when Blitz asks her to teach Stolas how to "secretate".

Loona: *sighs* "It's literally this: Ring, ring. 'Hello? I.M.P. Yeah, we can kill that asshole. Wanna schedule an appointment? Thursday cool? See you then, dipshit.' Click. It's easy as sin."

However, after being placed at the desk, Stolas manages to have a breakdown upon realizing that he no longer has any of his personal wealth. An action that doesn't go over well with his new coworkers, all whom are all among the lower or middle class money bracket:

After an aborted mission, the group return to find Stolas missing and discover he went back to his mansion in an attempt to see his daughter. However, in the process, he is captured by Andrealphus. Blitz instructs the group to separate before fighting and Loona makes the first attempt to free Stolas:

Andrealphus is ultimately defeated, by Stolas is left devastated by Octavia informing him that she no longer wants to see him.

Blitz, Loona and Stolas return home, where Loona announces plans for the rest of the holiday.

Loona: "Whew. That was intense. I'm gonna see if my friends can still come tonight. I need some drinks after what happened today."

Despite being preoccupied with Stolas once again shutting down, Blitz makes sure to give Loona the okay. Seemingly, he spends the rest of the evening with Stolas until the party starts. But someone does gradually put Sinsmas decorations throughout the apartment.

And we've reached our end.

So, Loona and Stolas. Not many interactions, but I don't see any bad blood between these two.

Loona appears to have some respect that Stolas tries to be a good father. And although Stolas' relationship with her own adopted father started out in a very messy transactional manner, their disastrous fallout following the Full Moon episode, and fomer's actions in Mastermind might have clued her in that from Blitz's perspective, Stolas had become more than the company's "meal ticket".

Loaning out her own clothes at the end of Mastermind, speaks volumes, even for someone like Loona who doesn't hesitate to speak her mind. Her father suddenly brings his complicated, homeless ex home to live with them, but Loona shows her support.

She keeps her space, living her own life, but still supports her father as he begins something new in his own.

Stolas seems nervous around Loona. I think, despite them living together, Loona may spend the majority of the time in her room, while Blitz is constantly keeping watch over Stolas. Blitz's affection for Loona as his daughter is quite obvious. Stolas was even witness to it as each ran to their daughters at the end of Seeing Stars, so I doubt he would be unaware of how important Loona is to Blitz. I think that that may be where some of the nervousness, which wasn't present in their early scenes, comes from.

Time will tell if these two will have reason to interact or work together in the coming seasons. Or if Loona's brief bonding with Stolas' daughter will come up again.

People who say Sammy or Yaz are wrong are the ones who are WRONG!

Now let me explain.

I’ve watched season 3 like three times by now (yeah ik I’m obsessed) and I’ve pay a lot of attention to details, expressions, actions, words, and let me tell ya, everything is amazingly well done, season three is the best one so far, even better than season 3 of cc. Overall I give it a 9.8/10, can’t give it the full ten because of the handlers death and the Yasammy break up, but everyone has their opinions. But that’s not the reason why I’m writing this.

Before I start, this is MY opinion I’m not saying this is a fact or whatever, so don’t attack me.

Both of Sammy’s and Yaz’s opinions are valid, like super valid, I completely understand both sides. But Sammy’s side is more understandable than Yaz’s, and just because it is it doesn’t mean that Yaz is wrong, she is a 100% NOT wrong for wanting to help her friend, her sister, Brooklynn is someone Yaz considers as FAMILY, and she is just worried, and in case nobody “noticed” she misses Brooklynn, she just wants to see her, make sure she’s okay, she wants to hug her, talk to her again. And all of this wishes make Yaz think that Sammy’s argument is not …right in a way. Also, I think all this time away from her girl has made her read Sammy less, if that makes sense.

Yaz has grown so much as a character, you can see that her ptsd has gotten better, way better, to the point where she’s willing to yell at one to save her girl, or be brave enough to find a way to escape when being chased by one. She has become better at listening to her friend’s problems and talking them through it. Now here’s the thing that I’ve noticed, Yaz seems to be helping everyone but one person, and that is Sammy, her own girl. Why? The reason why I think that Yaz might think that Sammy does not need the help she’s giving everyone else is because she is just afraid. She is probably afraid that while trying to help Sammy she will do or say something that’s gonna make Sammy think that Yaz has done no progress. Or maybe she thinks that if Sammy had some kind of problem she will immediately go to her and talk to her about it. But that’s what Yaz doesn’t know, she doesn’t know that Sammy is not communicating, not the way she should.

Communication is key, we all know that we all have heard that before. But there’s no communication in this relationship or ex relationship (I really don’t want to call it that) Yaz is listening to Sammy but at the same time she’s not. Yaz doesn’t seem to take Sammy’s argument serious, she calls Sammy ridiculous and then she calls her a coward (which is not entirely a lie) not only that, Yaz thinks that Sammy is not only being affected by Brooklynn but also her family. Yaz is not wrong by thinking that but the fact that she didn’t even thought about her leaving Sammy and going miles away from her didn’t affect Sammy is what escalates the issue.

Sammy also made a bunch of mistakes, she has been avoiding COMMUNICATION with her girlfriend, she’s been having this kind of passive aggressive behavior towards Yaz, and that just made things more complicated. Every time her and Yaz tried to have a not so argumentative conversation it always ended up becoming an argument, because neither one of them don’t want to listen to each other. Sammy is so blinded by grief, betrayal, abandonment, anger, and sadness that she just can’t seem to find herself anymore. The whole thing of her family not talking to her seemed to make her believe that Brooklynn is doing the same thing to them. She feels like Brooklynn just doesn’t care about them, about her. As we know Sammy and Brooklynn were inseparable, they were like sisters, and the whole Brooklynn prefers to go with the woman that tried to killed her and them, is the final straw for Sammy. That’s what makes her snap and not care about what anyone else says other than herself.

The thing that hurts the most about this break up is that they both still love each other so much, but they are too afraid that if they stick together they’re going to end up hurting one another. They both thought that the best way of not hurting each other was just end things, maybe go back to what they use to be, just friends. But they are both wrong, the break up only made things worse between them, to the point where Sammy can’t even look at Yaz or talk to her because it hurts her so much. And Yaz, you can see that it hurts her that Sammy doesn’t want to even look her way, the way she stared at the table seen that she has actually lost her girl. Sammy preferred to go back home than to be with her, and that broke her heart even more.

I still believe that they’re going to find a way of getting back together. Like come on, that’s the crew’s favorite couple, they won an award thanks to them. There’s no way Sammy and Yaz are not end game.

And if they are going to fix things I just hope there more than just one season left, so things don’t feel rushed. They deserve their time to talk about everything and be comfortable with each other again. And also Brooklynn needs to help with the whole getting Sammy and Yaz together situation, because Brooklynn played a big part on destroying those two girls.

Sorry ik is a lot, but I really needed to share this opinion to see if anyone agrees with me or if I’m just crazy and completely obsessed with them. (They’re my emotional support)

♡ “obviously i’m fine, can’t you tell?”

♡ it will take you a lot of pushing, and a lot of little spats to actually get the cause of his upset and anger out of him

♡ but, when you get it out of him, some yelling and crying ensues. even if your interaction with whoever it was that caused him to be jealous was entirely innocent, he’ll be in denial at first but ultimately, you apologise for making him upset unknowingly and he apologises for his reaction to the situation.

♡ i imagine you’d spend the rest of the night on his comfy little sofa in his green apartment and watch a little movie with some chinese takeout, cuddling and laughing and gossiping snd whispering sweet nothings to each other.

♡ he’s older, more mature, but also less scared of confrontation. i imagine he would walk up to you and whoever it is making him jealous and insert himself in the conversation literally just to be petty😭

♡ if you’re exclusive at this point an arm is 100% getting wrapped around your waist and he’s going to bring up some date night plans.

♡ “hey, we’re still going to dinner after this right? or do you just wanna stay in tonight, sweetheart? :))))))”

♡ you’re SO confused because he doesn’t really do that like, ever? and ESPECIALLY at work so you’re even more like?????

♡ honestly, he is significantly more secure. i think a lot of people feel that spence is perpetually insecure simply because he’s awkward, but at this point in time, he KNOWS people find him attractive.

♡ he absolutely wouldn’t be happy that someone was flirting with you, but he isn’t going to make a scene or grow angry.

♡ he trusts you to put a stop to it with yourself

♡ and when you do (because obviously you would, why would you want some rando when you currently have the good doctor?), a proud, cheeky little smile makes its way onto his face.

♡ in all honesty, i believe he’d even make a joke or two.

♡ “oh, what about your other boyfriend?” he’d say with a little snort

♡ you’re both very secure and trusting in this relationship so there’s no need to kiss and make up afterwards, because there was never a problem in the first place!

♡ this spence would only ever grow upset if whoever it was was very obviously making you feel uncomfortable!

♡ THEN he would go crazy. as in just a tad annoyed and worried for you. he’d approach, again not causing a scene, and make an excuse to allow you both to exit the situation!

♡ after everything, he’s insecure again.

♡ not about you, he still trusts you of course, but he feels insecure in the sense that he feels unsafe

♡ that he could lose everything in the blink of an eye, and no one would be there to bail him out this time.

♡ therapy is helping him but only so much.

♡ i feel that he would feel a mixture of anger and sadness.

♡ sadness because someone is trying to take you from him, and anger because he can’t believe someone would even TRY to take you away from him.

♡ thankfully, with age and his therapist, he knows to communicate this. so he doesn’t hide it, but that doesn’t make it any easier for him.

♡ he requires comfort, a distraction.

♡ just be with him :)
