• Chart Ruler: The Chart Ruler is a highly personal and influential planet in our charts. Because the Chart Ruler is so personal, its influence can reveal both strengths and shadow aspects of our personality. As the most personal planet in the chart, the Chart Ruler can point to areas where we might not see ourselves objectively or may overlook our underlying motivations. It’s a part of the self we naturally express but may also struggle to fully understand or control.

• Moon: Since the Moon governs our instinctual and automatic responses, it can expose aspects of our shadow side by revealing our deeply ingrained patterns, particularly in stressful or emotionally charged situations. When Does The Shadow Side Come Out to Play?

Individuality is not only important to you and your life, but questions surrounding individuality, developing it - these are a big part of your life lessons, struggles, wins, and fulfillments. There is nothing inherently wrong with this but it may cause a lack of fulfillment for the individuals. The chart ruler in the 6th House may work themselves to death or be distracted from people or things that truly feed their soul and help their mental health because they can get distracted with "the right way" to do things, with daily tasks they need to check off, or a sense of heavy duty. In this way modesty may be needed not to humble but to cut through the b.s. of more shallow pursuits and relationships. Responsibility and reputation are hot topics for those with their chart ruler here. These may be two things that haunt or bring joy to them throughout life. A fear of failure, embarrassment, or a lack of control can be a huge challenge for this placement. Seeking approval from or rebelling from an authority figure may be a huge drive for some. Their self-expression is focused and monitored, criticized and restrained so it fits within their society or family. Matters of support and providing are important for those with this placement. Both receiving it and giving it may be challenging or rewarding. Those with this placement may be passionate about campaigning for or providing for those who lack help much like they may have lacked when younger. This tends to be a hopeful and extroverted house in terms of its general influence. Having your chart ruler here means you may find meaning and direction by being part of organizations or groups. There may also be a struggle to find people you belong with. Motivation tends to come from social expectations/pressures, societal norms, rebellion, isolation, idealism, or fear of missing out. Friends and peers may be very important to those who's ruler sits in this house. From an early age this individual learned the importance and need for acceptance by one's peers or may have found refuge, learning, and understanding in them. Expanding their mind and knowledge through others may be a drive for them. Having a charismatic and confident self-expression may be important for some, or finding those who celebrate or are attracted to their unique sense of self-expression. There can be a desire to be found, to discover from the self and from others something meaningful, a desire to be connected spiritually, for intense intimacy, or possibly a feeling of wholeness. They themselves may struggle to pinpoint their desires, needs, and motivations, but once discovered they can be highly empowered. This is also the house of isolation, loss of power, loss of ego or identity, and loss in general. This person may confront many uncomfortable questions, truths, or experiences surrounding loss. This house shares similar themes with the 4th and 8th Houses - family karma and secrets, depth, psychology or psyche, spirituality, magic, intuition. A yearning to understand the self can be present for those with this placement. There may also be a drive to understand themselves and others through spiritual lenses. A drive to heal and help may exist here as well. This house covers many intense and bleaker subjects, but it is associated with surrender, forgiveness, reconnection, rebirth, reparation, hidden strengths or potential, and the good and bad of spirituality, oneness, and karma. How to read birth charts (my method)

1st house:

I usually start with the rising sign, which already gives me an idea on how the individual's perception of the world, how they approach new challenges/situations in life, and how others might perceive them based on first impressions or from afar. Then I look at other planets in the 1st house which would influence the above; depending on the planet it would either intensify or reduce the effect of the rising sign on the personality of the individual, and then I look at aspects to the rising and the ascendant degree as well (I have provided an example of this interpretation here)

Most important birth chart placement

Ideally next I would take a look at the chart ruler (rising sign ruler)'s placement as it tells me a lot about the essence of the person; for example a someone who has pluto as a chart ruler is going to be pretty intense, Mercury would be eloquent with their words, Saturn might be strict in various ways etc

Day chart/night chart factor

Day chart:

Sun placement would be more important

Benefic placement is Jupiter

Malefic is Mars

Mercury placement is neutral

Night chart:

Moon placement is more relevant

Benefic placement is Venus

Malefic placement is Saturn

Mercury is neutral

Chart Ruler in the 12 Houses Pt. 1

Hi loves! Debrief on having your 1st house ruler (or chart ruler) in all 12th houses. As a side note: in Modern Astrology, Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces have a secondary ruler (Pluto, Uranus and Neptune, correspondingly), so if you have any of these signs as your Ascendant, the houses in which your two ruling planets (lords) sit should be taken into account equally. 💎

1st house: Super booster here. When you have the ruler of your chart in your 1st house or conjunct your Ascendant, your character and health tend to be very strong and enduring. You embody your rising sign’s traits to the bone, to the point you may identify more with its characteristics instead of your Sun sign’s, physically and personality wise. You are independent and don’t need to rely on others opinion or approval to build the life you want. You find success easier because of your great resourcefulness. The planets in your ASC can color your psyche big time, and this is reinforced when your chart ruler sits in your 1st house. The sign and topics it represent will be of special importance throughout your whole life. Part of your life purpose consists of discovering and taming yourself through self-knowledge and being able to tap into the purest form of power within your being. • chart ruler in gemini or at gemini degrees (3,15,27) are usually good at copying body movements - they could be really good dancers & catch on to choreography really quick. they're also good at copying reference photos if they're into art.

• i think people don't talk about how capricorn placements are escapists. something that truly pains them can be shrugged off not realizing that it can cause more problems. sort of the way pisces escapes reality with external influences, capricorns can escape their problems by ignoring them completely or creating more & fixing them as a distraction to gain back control.

• one stereotype that i've seen that is true about my life is that i have Uranus in the 9H & i'm going for university to study Computer Science which is quite satisfying to see icl. we'll see if the dropping out one is true down the line. 😃

• i really admire libra placements because of their ability to tolerate all sorts of bs in order to gain the benefit. they're very goal driven & usually don't focus on the now, even if they're going through hell but are more focused on the end product. they're far from selfish though & are willing to compromise any situation.

Hi Gaia, I like your posts about Juno, Groom, Bride observation. Hope you don't mind if I ask you about synastry of Bride and Groom.

I had synastry his Bride conjunct my Moon in 6 degree and my Groom conjunct his Saturn in 3 degree. What do you think? Why if I said that moon is my chart ruler and saturn is his, other will give different perspective rather if I only said the planets? It's really can give different meaning?

Chart rulers give you a whole lot more to look at actually. Since it means that planet's significance plays a large role in your life and your personality. It's like putting the essence of a person into something.

With moon as your chart ruler it sort of becomes the base for everything else to be laid on

For example: Being stubborn, & how stubbornness manifests in you. If you have moon as your chart ruler you tend to be irrational and driven by your feelings you are likely to cry even if you have mars in say Capricorn. While if you had Saturn as your chart ruler, you would be colder and excessively rational.

With this in mind,

His Briede conjunct your moon makes a bigger impact: You are literally the manifestation of his 'wife' as well as with his saturn conjuncting your groom asteroid, he is the greatest manifestation of your 'husband'.

Since it's literally the mother (moon) & father (Saturn) together, it's likely both of you will be very special to each other. You may feel that you're each other's person. The one that you'll stick with for the end of time if possible.

Of course, it's still important to look at other aspects to make a final judgment. However, it's still a very promising aspect to see!

Some 1st House Musings? 12th House Musings? Chart Rulers?

honestly. I hate having my 1st house highlighted(especially because it's always so heavily criticised). Especially with my chart ruler in the 12th, it's so fucking strange, I feel like people can see me clearer than I can see myself. I'm constantly reminded of how mars-like I am(aries rising, esp with Jupiter in Aries sitting there) through social interactions and other people's opinions of me but I barely see myself as being mars-like at all. Like I just tend to think that it's natural?? What's the big deal? Isn't everyone like that? I have a running theory that having your chart ruler in the 12th really fucks with your self-perception. It feels like I barely know myself at all but at the same time, I do? Like I just do what feels right to me and I never question those gut feelings. And that counts as being myself right? I just usually have no words for what that is, it usually takes me a really long time to put it into words if I ever even get to the point of putting them into words. My moon being in the 12th conjunct my chart ruler probably adds to that, and my mercury in the 12th too but my mercury is a lone soldier only squaring Pluto and sextiling Jupiter.

I also have a theory that your chart ruler lands up in the 12th when you have to spend most of your life really trying and failing to separate yourself from your 1st house. I had a very bad temper as a child, was extremely hyperactive and still am very blunt and demanding(just imagine all of the bad aries traits and then mix that with an aquarius sun conjunct uranus and moon conjunct mars and boom, a disaster) and I basically spent all of my teenage and adult years trying to keep that shit under control and now have some horrid self-esteem issues.

Anyway. Rant over. Shits been swirling around my head for a while.
