i keep thinking about how in 1610 miles was p much haunted and followed by the number 42 (thanks to that one tumblr post, yknow the one) after his spider bite.

the bus seating capacity, the numbers that fell off into the streets after miles crashed into them, all those tiny lil details that followed him throughout his journey to becoming Spiderman

and i also wonder if miles42 was also haunted by numbers like 1610. maybe his neighbor down the block's address is 1610. maybe the dorm room capacity at visions is 161. maybe he always gets up at 6:10 am to get ready for the day....

X-MEN OC YAPPING!!!

Here's a small doodle of my X-Men OC! His name is Ryder, he's a mutant, his mutant power is similar to telepathy, but rather for emotions and feelings instead of all aspects of the mind. It's called "Absolute Empathy" I believe! He can sense, manipulate, and project emotions! He cannot read minds, control minds, communicate telepathically, but he can "read your heart" in a way, and influence your emotions using his mind. He can also project his emotions telepathically if he finds them hard to express. continued yapping under the cut !!

This ability can be useful for communicating feelings, but it also causes him great stress. He believes he cannot trust anyone's feelings toward him to be genuine, when people show interest in him, want to be his friend, or have romantic feelings for him, he assumes that it must be his control over his power slipping, and that he is the one influencing these feelings. this leaves him feeling very alone and paranoid about people's "real" intentions or feelings. He doesn't know that he can't actually make people fall in love with him, since love is such a complex array of emotions, but he is always scared that his close friends and loved ones really don't care about him at all. On a more positive note, he can fight with this power if needed. He can stun an enemy by invoking a sense of terror in them, but he can only do this if they don't know how to fight his ability. If you are aware that he is manipulating you, you can remind yourself it's not real and fight back against he emotions he's casting onto you. he's a very sensitive person, and often his empathic ability can make him susceptible to breakdowns.

also I ship him with Logan lalalala Logan's mind and heart are very strong, and not easily broken into, and Ryder is intrigued by this at first, then as Ryder spends more time with logan as a new member of the X-Men, he develops feelings. And Logan does too but at a much slower pace and in a more complex way. since he still loves Jean. I made up a little scene where Logan was having nightmares, and all the feelings Logan was experiencing woke Ryder up from across the mansion, so Ryder went to check in on Logan. He woke Logan up and asked him if he was alright, and of course Logan pushed him away, but Ryder asked if he could help at all. Logan said that he would never be able to understand, or feel what he feels, (he kinda forgot in the moment that Ryder was a superhuman empath) and so Ryder said something like "Then let me in, let me in so I can understand." and then he cups Logan's face in his hands and presses his forehead to his, and then Ryder dives into Logan's mind/heart and feels all he feels and then they share a moment of vulnerability together. After a few minutes Ryder leaves and goes back to bed and so does Logan, BUT AUGGHGHHAGHGHH they make me SICK GRGRGGRGRGRRRGRGR Also obligatory Logan and grumpy Ryder (Old art, my style has changed a lot since then)

ok so Sayuri is one of the students that doesn't rlly go home bc there isn't much to go back to. Basically her parents were Rebellion pilots (or one was a pilot the other a mechanic. kinda unsure) but were both killed in action against the Empire abt 3-4ABY ish. obvs the Rebellion couldn't look after a 7-8yo while fighting the Empire

so the remainder of the squad manage to get her back to her parents' home village/ where she was born. so having like Everything change all at once leaves her pretty ?? and gives her some serious trusting-her-environment issues. her coolgirl "i dont care" persona is very much a result of this bc she's worried abt getting too comfy in smthn. (which is at odds w the OTHER issue she got from this event which is "deathly afraid of flying" an issue not helped if Master "traffic laws are just guidelines" Skywalker is piloting. but she tries 2 act like shes fine)

anyway fast forwarding to when Sayuri's abt 13 (roughly 9aby) she's visiting her parent's old squadron on a New Republic bc they'd all come visit whenever she could and after the Empire's fall they did a lot more pick her up and fly her to a base to ALL see her. and they're like omg Sayuri you came at the PERFECT time bc this rlly amazing pilot war hero who's also some like. mystical whatever is here!! he's on his way to some magic place we heard. maybe u can meet him!! which sayuri meets w her usual whatever bc she's not that gassed abt war heroes.

very worth noting that the squad's probably all seen her move shit with her mind, but theyre like oh you know how it is with teenage girls. the "nobody knows what a jedi is" + "the empire existed for a decent bit of her childhood" thing has kept anyone from being like yeahh sayuri should like. talk to someone abt this.

anyway she goes along when the squad are like c'mon let's see if we can see him. ok the only way i can describe this is you know the spiderverse like... spidey-sense recognition thing? that's basically what happens LOL Luke and Sayuri both have a FORCE USER RECOGNISED?? moment and Luke then makes a beeline for her then realises oh shit tiny teenager not jedi. would you LIKE to be a jedi?? and sayuri who hates her village and is feeling the strongest emotional connection she's felt in forever w this stranger she met 2 seconds ago is like okay fuckin sure yeah. and woo jedi!!

So Sayuri falls into the "one of the Jedi found them thru the force or by chance" category of students who get found. However Nymie very much falls into the second category, which is "CAN SOMEONE DEAL WITH THIS WEIRD SUPERPOWERED CHILD FOR US????"

So 2 things about Nymie: 1. like i've said before, she's from a very rich high class pantoran family. super stuck up, mostly raised by nannies & tutors, but somehow Nymie just didn't get the stuck-up genes like all her (4!!) siblings who are just obsessed w their social standing etc and is instead just :D all the time. 2. her proficiency ig is the living force esp in the 'good at connecting to animals' way (which I think means I legally need to draw her w Ezra).

so the former often led her to escaping her family's stuffy parties and galas or whatever (usually to whoever's house it is' garden or somewhere she wasnt meant to be) to find something interesting. usually a pet <3 one particular time when she was 9 she was following her Pet Sense but couldnt find anything in the house. so she kinda just reached out more and long story short thats how Nymie managed to call this hugemassive beast (i'd tell u what it was if i knew pantoran animals LOL) out of the nearby countryside to her. massively distressing for everyone, all these rich ppl were like "OH MY GOD I NEARLY DIED" (it didnt attack anyone). very funny exciting time for Nymie who was enjoying this new beastie friend til animal control showed up. saddening. everyone is confused bc HOW did that happen

a dude old (and cool) enough to have seen more than one jedi in their heyday (+ idk uni researcher knows his shit) noticed what happened w it going straight to Nymie and overheard her account and realised what happened and was like hi nymie's parents. i think u need to get into contact w the new republic bc thats a jedi right there (which they take and go oo social climbing. we have a jedi child people will think we're cooler. bc theyre assholes)

It's completely normal! In fact, your brain literally cannot tell the difference between fictional characters and real people, and seeing them paired with someone else evokes the same feelings of jealousy and heartbreak as someone actually cheating on you.

there's absolutely no wrong way to feel about your f/o (fictional other) and there's absolutely no wrong way to express that.

Here's a way I've learned to cope with other self ships, and things; it's like spiderverse, each person's head cannons/ship/insert/au/whatever creates a new reality for that universe, spawning new versions of the characters. Your f/o and this other person's ship aren't the same person, because in this universe (your au/self insert) they love YOU, nobody else.

There might be things that you genuinely don't like about your f/o, but changing that makes them a different person. For me it's Donnie and lying, it makes me angry that he can't lie well, but if I were to change that then I would change him

When I see Donnie misrepresented or acting a way I know he wouldn't, it puts me off, and I typically avoid Donnie content on tumblr for that reason.

Of course I'm happy to support any and all self shippers (NOT THE WEIRD ONES 💢💢💢), but there is a lingering tad of uncomfortabness and jealousy.

random theory....

this is the most random thing i thought of but... do you think miguel is the reason why everything is going bad? we know from multiple times that the spider chooses who they want to bite, not by the closest person around because with that knowledge, the spider could've bitten uncle aaron.. but earth-42 spider hadn't... also how did the spider even GET to earth-1610? its almost as if he (miguel) was trying to find someone to blame...

while talking about miguel... IS HE EVEN A SPIDERMAN?!? i was watching the movie again and i was keeping track of all the scenes where they kind of show spoilers for the end of the movie.. for example with the opening moment when Peter Parker (Original earth-1610 spiderman) starts off, he says "you're looking at the one and only spiderman" and the screen shows us RIGHT to Miles... also with the same knowledge, he also says "the only person standing inbetween this city and oblivion, is me." which also goes with what miles believes, he will be the only one to save his city in the end. so using the beginning as a POV, i kept in track on what gwen says about miguel.

she calls him the blue panther... this makes the most sense in this case because miguel would have another reason why he disrupted the canon.. he is not even a spiderman. he has claws, fangs and is way stronger than the rest of the spidermen... this gives him motivation to also be stronger than miles. Im not saying miguel hadn't been bitten but it could be a factor for the reason why he hates miles. Miles is not an amateur... in the matter of a couple of days (two to be exact), he picked up on being a spiderman and saved his city from being destroyed, and basically even more stronger than any other spiderman.. this would make miguel angry, a kid, basically just getting his powers, was able to save the world in a matter of a couple of days?

even if spiderman-1610 hadn't saved miles, it still wouldnt have done anything, so if he has a couple of minutes, it doesnt change the fact that kingpin wouldnt have killed him anyway, because even if so, the machine would've exploded and spiderman would've been injured the same way, and would he have had enough time anyway?

it also doesn't mean that earth-42 miles and doctor octavius couldnt have just made another spider?

if miguel isnt a spiderman.. it would make the most sense if miguel had disrupted the canon, he is not like the rest, he does not fit the spiderverse.

EDIT: I just realized that the earth-2099 is actually a vampire in the comics soooo… he actually isn’t a spider-man so yay on my part!

It really is the way that media can make you hold onto life though man. Uncoupled from the creators, I choose to have a good time and enjoy the media my brain latched onto that brings me joy. Once I have the natural attraction to a media, IM choosing how I like it after that.

I’ve talked to you about how I’m trying to work on Peter and his looks, I’m still figuring out how to draw him on my own style…

But in this case while I was looking for references I found a picture of the model on whom Peter Parker of insomniac videogame is based on and I just thought he looked so freaking cute there I melted 😭😭😭, im actually now obsessing over him , and I decided to try copy the picture (although the drawing it’s not that close to the style I’m focusing on my Peter drawings, it’s a lil bit different cause also I don’t know how to stick into a style yet I’m still figuring it out).

Anyway my thoughts just kept leading me on the fact that this would be a perfect picture that my Spider would have on her wall, one of the many she has of her Peter, it would probably have been taken by her on a date night where she took an improv picture of him looking at her softly 🥺🥺🥺🥺 or smth like that, idk I keep picturing lot of soft scenarios for Peter that I think I’m going insane.

So I drew a picture frame over it and her hands caressing the picture (?) Poe maybe giving it a kiss before putting it back on the wall, like it happened on one of the chapters of NVC, cause I’m a sucker about all those sweet tender moments where she remembers Peter, means so much to me, cause even before all these Spiderverse things and hyper fixations over Miguel, Peter(Spider-Man) is my favourite super hero so he has a special place in my heart.

So yeah here it is, a lil rendition to my Peter, that can change when I figure more out his style rather than basing him that much on the model hehe

And the little backstory on how this would be taken during a date night and reader capturing this moment randomly and the way it would be just one of the many, many, many times of Peter just staring at reader like this, with such pure love and adoration for her - I'm not doing well at all, I have REAL TEARS in my eyes right now just thinking about it!!!

🥺😭 It's so so crazy and I mentioned it so many times before to @sunsetdoodler but I never imagined reader's Peter to become so important to me - like, I'm fully attached to this character even though he's not an active character in the story but every time I write about him, my heart melts. PETER AND READER LOVED EACH OTHER SO MUCH!!!! Their love was so beautiful and special - and I'm rambling now but I love talking about our Peter so much and seriously, this is so freaking sweet, tender, and beautiful to think about. I mentioned it in my message but sometimes I get the urge to write something about Peter and reader - like a regular day in their lives and how they interacted before he passed away in a one-shot but I swear - I don't think my heart could take it. I would be crying the entire time, I think 😭😭

Also, I feel you so much!!! Peter (Spider-Man) has always had a special place in my heart even since I was a kid. Spider-Man was the first superhero I watched on theaters (Tobey Maguire's Peter) and ever since then, Spider-Man has been one of my top favorite superheroes!! No matter what new superhero pops up, Spider-Man is always there for me!!!

ALSO! its been a hot minute since i read the miles morales ultimate spiderman comics so if i get something wrong feel free to correct me :3 i doubt anyone will because. people dont read comics much anymore but :33

miles morales is my favorite spiderman because god no one is going through it like him. if you have only seen him in itsv/atsv you would probably think oh yeah his uncle dying and then 2099 trying to make sure his dad dies is pretty fucked up. which it is!!! itsv!miles is consistently going through it. but when you compare him to the comics its like oh okay. they cut him some slack actually

in the comics, peter parker dies and miles morales becomes spiderman, similar to itsv. but miles is 13 when this happens. at the ripe age of 13 he is going through the average spiderman trauma. the worst in my opinion would be his relationship with his uncle aaron, which is NOT as happy and loving as they make it in itsv. in the comics, aaron finds out that he is spiderman, and then uses this against him. he forces him to do his dirty work, and take care of enemies hes made as the prowler. if miles refuses, aaron says he will tell his dad that hes spiderman.

side note: jeff morales is NOTHING like he is in the spiderverse films. he hates mutants, and assumes that spiderman must be some kind of mutant, therefore hates spiderman

anyways, miles and aarons relationship gets so strained that they end up getting into this huge fight. aarons weapons that he gets from the tinkerer end up short circuiting when miles shocks him, and aaron DIES. the thing is, miles doesnt know that his gear was faulty. so he is fully under the impression that he just KILLED his uncle.

more shit happens after this but im going to now talk about his NEXT most fucked thing ever. in the comics, venom is portrayed as an almost animalistic creature. he seems to be completely in control of eddie. and venom is completely obsessed with spiderman. i dont know exactly what their relationship is but venom has this strange primal urge to Find Him. so when peter parker dies, he finds miles. i cant remember exactly why, but he ends up in the hospital that rio morales works at. police are called into the hospital and since theyre fucking cops, start OPEN FIRING into this room full of patients and medical professionals. AND SHE IS SHOT AND DIES.

so at this point, 2/3 of miles’ close family members are dead. all he has is his dad, who hates spiderman.

then miles’ universe is attacked by galactus, who if you dont know is a giant planet eating alien. basically they are in an apocalyptic hell. and miles can only think about saving his dad. its all he cares about. his dad is the only person that matters in this moment. so he comes in through the window of their apartment, dressed as spiderman, and he says that they HAVE to get out of there. he HAS to keep him safe. it doesnt matter that hes spiderman anymore, his dad shouldnt care! the planet is being fucking eaten!!!! but jefferson morales immediately turns and runs the other way. and once galactus is defeated, miles cannot find him. the apartment is bare. his father is gone. he doesnt know if hes alive or dead.

miles has 0 family to take care of him. his only support system is ganke (his ‘guy in the chair’, his universe version of ned leeds basically) his girlfriend kate bishop, and his borderline parental polycule mj watson, gwen stacy, and spiderwoman. WHICH BTW. spiderwoman sees peter parker die, and immediately is so attached to miles. like that is her baby and she will NOT let anythint happen to him

his relationship with jessica drew is so damn important to me. because theyre both avengers and initially, she does Not want him there. she doesnt want to have to work with some kid, and she does not think the world needs another spiderman, i mean they have her right? later on though its revealed that she just really cared about peter parker and him dying absolutely destroyed her. she doesnt want the same thing to happen to miles. and after the galactus event, miles quits being spiderman. and she tries everything in her power to get him to come back. that is her son. sobbing

i would also like to mention that ganke is Very into miles. and everyone can tell. kate tells him. his dad tells him. its very obvious.

ANYWAYS. this is as far as ive read in the comics but holy SHIT man. that is a fucking ton to go through as a 13 year old!!! thats fucked up!!!!!! holy shit!!!!!!!!

and then in the insomniac game hes grown up. his father is dead. and his childhood best friend is a supervillain. i would HIGHLY recommend playing the game honestly it is amazing and i LOVE their version of the tinkerer.

another thing i love about miles morales is ganke. he hasnt really been fleshed out in the spiderverse films but he is so cool. in the insomniac game he creates an app that has people tell spiderman their problems and then he can go help them out. which is AWESOME because i love side quests. in the comics, miles goes to live with him after his dad leaves. and hes just so fucking kind. hes the only person miles tells hes spiderman and theyre just so close and it makes me smile hard.

the main reason i love miles morales so much is that my nephew loves him, he dressed up as him for halloween a couple years ago. so every time i see him i think about my nephew. hes my best friend man

yippeeeee okay id better explain what exactly im trying to write here lmao so like. this whole au was originally just an experiment in mapping the spider-person story onto a morbius variant as a joke bc i liked the idea of him being like "i was straight up bitten by a radioactive animal and started doing vigilante crime fighting can you please let me into the multiverse" and miguel going "NO youre literally a villain How did you get this number" but then it kinda spiralled and now theres like themes n shit

so long story short morgan michaels gets bitten by a radioactive vampire bat on a uni trip and wakes up with some weird mutations but doesnt really take much notice, he just goes about his day as normally as he can until he Fucking exsanguinates someone to Death. and takes it Badly. so then while hes trying to cope with that and adjust to the whole "vampire(?) thing" like. finding a non-homicidal way to get blood. he encounters spider-man and goes Hey! You know what would make me feel less shit about that whole murder thing? Doing that!

so he pisses off to try become a superhero and accidentally gets stuck with the name morbius, fucks around w/ doc ock and almost finds out until spidey saves his ass and morbius goes Hey. Im bad at this. Youre good at this. Can i be your sidekick until i figure out what the fuck im doing? and peter goes Hhhhhmmmmm bc He knows morbius is a villain. hes wearing one of them watches hes all caught up on how his canon works. but maybe this one is different..maybe he can fix him.....as in hes literally floating there in front of him asking to be fixed. so he says Yeah okay ill make sure you dont get yourself killed probably

so theyre doing the whole superhero mentor thing for a while, morgan learns and grows amd theres some cool contrasting moments where he handles shit completely differently than spider-man would and changes the trajectory of some established arcs, until eventually hes off doing basic superhero stuff all on his own and goes Hey that guy doesnt have a pulse. Thats kinda weird. so he tracks the guy to this weird secret rave in a factory basement with all these other dead people and at one point they turn on the sprinkler and its full of human blood? which hes so normal about ofc (<- the lying liar) and then this COOL GUY with a COOL JACKET and a COOL SWORD shows up and starts annihilating everyone and morbius goes Whoa cool! and then this guy tries to kill Him and he goes HEY WAIT IM LITERALLY ALIVE and blade goes Thats fucking weird cause youre definitely a vampire so whats your deal. Come with me so i can figure out what your deal is. so then morbius meets blades cool hematologist friend and cool butch biker mom and finds out abt Actual vampires which, it turns out, he definitely isnt hes something else which just seems similar bc [INSERT COMIC-TYPICAL MUTATION BULLSHIT]

they both get tied up in plot stuff and even though it takes a loooong moment for blade to trust him theyre actually a pretty good team, morbius is used to spider-man treating him like a student and, implicitly, a child so its neat that blade treats him like an Equal (albeit an annoying inexperienced equal w/ bad jokes and a worse costume but still) and turns out they actually have a lot in common? and kinda bond really easily? and maybe this whole "edgy-hero-who-kills-things" deal is working wayyyy better for him than the spandexed paragon thing spider-man has going on and that guy is super out of his depth in these circumstances and needs to stop pushing in assuming he knows best just bc hes a """hero""" and actually hes maybe being a total uptight prick about the no murder thing and who died and made him king of new york anyway?? fuck off spider-man i have a cool new friend who Gets Me and will absolutely definitely never judge me for killing someone or succumbing to bloodlust which is definitely totally 100% true and Not a fundamental misinterpretation that will come back to bite me in the ass.

Well i feel u with the inspiration sometimes im like Bluuehhhggrhhhh i dont want 2 fucking draw/whats the point/idk WHAT 2 draw and usually those r thje times where i kinda like. step back like Woah, why am i putting all of this pressure on myself 2 perform when it only makes me even more stressed about it!!! does the entire opposite of what u want. its like messing around with ooblek the more pressure you put on it the more it doesnt wanna go anywhere And if you keep tryin it'll just. crumble up. So ease up a bit ^_^... let yourself rest. watch things that inspire you or just make you feel good! i know spiderverse is HUGE for me, as well as gorillaz and little nightmares, so that's usually my go-to.

Sometimes trying out new mediums helps a lot too!!!! the other day i was Feelin it real bad i was just sitting at my desk binging a show mindless like.. damn i havent drawn in forever, i kinda wanna but i just Can't like why bother... but i was also just. Bored out of my bualls (boredom is very good for creativity) so i grabbed my sketchbook anyways n decided to try something new with colored pencils. it was kinda Icky at first like wtf... this feels lame. I still hate drawing. but i just kept doing it like little scribbles, gently poking at the ooblek And That Metaphor Sucks Now and i'm not going to use it anymore. but anyways i just did some small nothings, no-effort doodlin which helped me relax, and slowly, eventually, i was like, hey i actually remember why i liked doin art in the first place! And now i've gone mad with power and use colored pencil all the time and it fucking rocks. so yeah just trying something new can help a bunch, esp if you're feeling stuck! watercolor is fun but unforgiving, so bewaaaaaare ehehe.

also did a whole other ask about how important it is to keep a sketchbook that's convenient to use while you're on the move, if you can get your hands on one! small and easy to whip out is the way 2 go, because it's a huge moodkiller when you have to haul around a giant ass brick that takes forever to get out and put away yknow! at the present moment i tear through sketchbooks like i am someone who really loves to eat paper as compared to when i had a really big notebook and barely did anything in it because it was 1. hard to move, and 2. intimidating as hell b/c of how big the pages were!!
