Nathaniel looked at his brother with outrage in his eyes while the later was still laughing. The siren was barely trying to recover from the utter mess he was in front of Achilles, and he planned to sought comfort in his older brother. But no!

"You can talk!"

Malachai raised an eyebrow. "What does that mean?"

Nate used his most mocking tone to copy Malachai's words: "You could come with us, lady Yasmeen. I mean, to - to guard Calypso, of course!"

"Hey! I did not say it like that!"

"No, it was even more pathetic!"

Nathaniel barely avoided the random rock Malachai picked and threw at him, and decided to fight back. But a few seconds only were enough for the two brothers to burst into laughter together.

"... Did I really sound like that?" Nate asked after a time.

"Yes. Sorry about that... Did I sound like that too?" The same unsureness was audible in the two brothers' voices.

"Yes... Sorry about that."

A pause, then Malachai added: "We have absolutely no game. This is alarming."

"Don't look at me, it's all your fault. You're my big brother, I learnt it all from you." Nate joked.

"Hey! Don't make me throw another rock at you!"

"You missed."

"I won't next time. But first, can you explain why you're so into this random man that you met two days ago?"

It physically hurt Nathaniel to keep the truth from Malachai, but he did it anyway. "Sure, but after you explained why you're sneaking secret gifts to a girl you could never ever be with."

Malachai sighed. "You're annoying, you know that right?"

"Yes. It's my job. I'm your annoying little brother. Me, not Aeron. Please try to remember that!"

Malachai rolled his eyes and they both ended up chuckling again. But a certain sadness could be seen on both of them. They were not that good at talking about their feelings, but it appeared clear that both their love life was a touchy subject.

I'm pro 'everyone is capable of change and deserves a chance.' So Im of the camp of 'if he had the opportunity...maybe #The issue is that this setting has no structure to provide those opportunities. You are perceived as a threat therefor you must die #XY is a very interesting parallel to the YLLZ because they both meet the same fate: outsiders determining that they need to be killed #plus both did war crimes. I know it's easy to forget the YLLZ actually did do some of the things he was accused of (most wrong)#but wwx also has blood on his hands. He also sought revenge in pretty twisted ways. Both were given opportunities to step away and refused #The difference is that we empathize with and like XXC & SL and A-Qing. The Narrative says they were wronged and that is an injustice.'
