So gay. the way he admires mater’s absolute tomfoolery (no offence mater) and is like “he is SUCH a good spy..” meanwhile holley is like ???. its as if mater is doing the most stupid thing while his bf finn is just all heart eyes and dreamy while holley is questioning her senior. the scene where mater is disguised as that blue red tow truck (ivan I think was his name) and he’s not doing great (/lh) in pretending to be ivan and holley is like MATER GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF while the situation does a 180 turn and works in mater’s favour and finn is like “he’s so good..” that man is Gay.

also in regards to finn I can see him and uhh I forgot his name but that french three wheeler they meet in paris being exes (on good terms, obviously). like they tried it out but in the end they thought they’d be better as friends. thoughts?

ALSO also I feel like although the way the writers solved mater and mcqueen’s conflict wasn’t bad per say but I do think mcqueen wasn’t entirely wrong in his anger at mcqueen. not saying he should have said what he had said in tokyo, but I sort of agree with him that mater needed to get a hold of himself. he could’ve been more understanding in his confrontation and all, but thats just my thoughts. I think either you or kei had talked abt something similar once? abt how mater was dumbed down in the movie. not sure but I thought of that point when I was thinking abt it.

Also, I’ve never considered the idea of him and the French cars being exes. It makes sense, honestly, with how they talk with each other. It seems very much like a love-hate relationship. While they’re dating, it was probably for the thrills more than actual love.

And yes, the conflict between Mater and Lightning was not the best. I feel like the writers had such a complicated conspiracy about the oil fuel, that they had to rewrite a lot. And due to that, they had to rewrite the conflict. ORIGINALLY- Mater was supposed to stay with Lightning to keep an eye on him while he helped Finn.

Which— that conflict would’ve worked because we have a boy who cried wolf situation and then both parties would be justified to feel in the right. Not only is he hiding things for Lightning but is sounding ridiculous, meanwhile Mater has to keep quiet about helping with a spy for LIGHTNINGS safety.

But that’s just my two cents on it.

Though, I do think how lightning reacted to Mater leaving was pretty realistic. Mater is Lightning’s first true friend. And he’s feel like he just lost him completely, so what does he to do? He probably blames himself for pushing Mater away (even if justified). So, him chasing him down the race track makes total sense.

But that’s just my belief. I would like to hear your opinion on that.

YOU GET IT!!! TO THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BLENDER WITH THAT LITTLE BLUE BASTARD!!

Kay, this does have an outline and dialogue for it so far in my docs and it’s gotten me to pick up comic art again. Under a cut because this got long af. And as always feel free to ask about anything else or even add your thoughts or what you think would be fun for this AU, I’d love to hear them. Also if you see anything in here that strikes you and want to do something with please take it and run with it. Whatever you come up with is bound end up different than mine on some level and I’d love to see what you do with it, universal blessing for plot beat borrowing.

The basic premise is Firth manages to dig himself from under the boot bar, into a New Carcinia that has been launched into a Great Depression because Firth has managed to make the vast majority of trash completely worthless within a matter of hours. You can find pretty much any type of trash you want by just digging around for it in the city now, the value for just about anything that isn’t a building material to them has tanked HARD. And on top of that people going nuts from getting Gunked has went from basically unheard of in the reef to a near daily thing. Crab Raccoon City my guy, Crab Ragoon City if you will.

Pretty much all the trash Firth had saved up as a just in case scenario is completely worthless now, and seeing as he seemed to be a trash reseller of some sort before all this, he no longer really has that as prospect seeing as that’s likely not in very high demand. He’s walking around with injuries both from his fight with Kril and being crushed by a building. His apartment building has been completely destroyed because of the trash island he decided needed to be dumped on top of the city. He has screwed himself and literally everyone else over so fucking bad with his idea and his only saving grace is that he, Kril and (unbeknownst to him) Nemma and Chitan, are the only ones who know he did it so he doesn’t have a whole angry mob after him for this.

Firth is now in the same place of everyone he’s ever thought he was above, and he has no clue what the hell to do about that. But he’s still in denial about any of this being a terrible idea, he thinks this was still a great idea on some level! If only everyone did what he thought they should have done things would have been perfect. He refuses to take responsibility for any of this, and blames everyone else for not acting how he wanted them to for his ideas to work. (It’s not Firth if he isn’t still kind of the worst, and he still has capitalist brain rot really bad. Don’t worry though, this is a redemption AU.)

He eventually runs into an old business partner named Strait. Strait is OC I made specifically for this and he’s very much meant to be a reflection of Firth if Firth was more self aware of just how selfish he was and knew how awful everything was for anyone who wasn’t actively in charge of stuff on some level and just…didn’t care and actively leaned into it.

And Strait, seeing how dire Firth’s situation is decides to take advantage of this. He offers Firth a job that he knows he doesn’t really have any choice but to take, and knows he won’t be able to leave as well with how injured he is and seeing as Firth never really mentions any family or close friends, and to be honest is probably someone who has a hard time asking for help and likely had a pull yourself up by you bootstraps mentality won’t have any help to get out of it. He knows Firth is desperate and a desperate worker is a hard worker and Firth already sees him as a friend so he can also spin this as Firth doing a favor for his friend. Strait sees the power vacuum that Roland left after he disappeared and is gunning to take it over and he’s going to need a lot of people to help him take that place, which in his eyes means to screw a lot of people over, and his old “friend” Firth unfortunately just so happens to be in a very convenient place for him to do so.

Firth begins working for Strait, very much under the impression his friend is actively trying to help him, completely unaware that he’s in no better of a position than everyone who ever worked for Roland was. Every time he sees someone get injured or gunked and he himself gets injured he goes to complain to Strait. Strait who always says he’s going to fix it, but that never happens. Firth waits and waits, watches as more and more people get Gunked and injured, including him when Strait starts sending him to kill the gunked crabs. Crabs that he had gotten to know usually and was sometimes friends with.

Firth’s mental health spirals further and further down until he’s eventually forced to acknowledge that this is just what happens to the people who aren’t on top, this is how you run a financially successful business that doesn’t stop growing. You oil its machinery with blood and cruelty and you can never stop. He doesn’t want do that to other people, doesn’t want others to die and get injured just so he can make money. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but that had been pretty much all he’d done before he’d wound up here. From trying to kill Kril to dumping trash on New Carcinia and getting just about everyone in the city sick. His world view is finally beginning to completely destabilize.

Enter Kril and Chitan, who post canon have become an adventuring bestie duo and are surviving and thriving despite the horrors. Protecting people from the gunked crabs. Kicking the asses of people who are screwing everyone over like Magista and Roland, which is how they hear about Strait.

The decide “Yeah, this guy probably needs his ass kicked, let’s make him regret every single decision that lead him here!” And off they go to storm Strait’s company!

Which is how they finally run into Firth again!

Strait sent Firth to go confront Kril, having already been using him as a sort of living shield up to this point. And Firth is rightfully fucking terrified when he realizes who Strait sent him to try and scare off considering the fact Kril kicked his ass even when had god powers and Kril seems to have gotten only stronger since then. The second Kril lays eyes on him and realizes that Firth survived, he knows he’s screwed beyond belief.

And Kril is pissed to see Firth. That’s not just Firth’s new found fear of him talking. He sees Firth looking to start another fight and jumps in without thinking twice about it.

And Firth is still fucking terrified but he also realizes he’s angry at Kril too. Kril who ruined his whole plan, Kril who broke the Whorl so neither of them could even fix what happened, Kril who who didn’t even have the shucking guts to finish the job and kill him and now he had now choice but to work for Strait with no way out that he could possible see.

What had begun as physical fight that Firth was terrified off descends into a yelling match with Firth blaming Kril for all this because he still refuses to take responsibility for his actions and there consequences and Kril calling him out on every single thing he knows Firth has done. From all the shit he pulled and said on the treasure hunt. To how he stole a magic glowing shell he knew nothing about and dumped trash on everything he’s even known and now the fact he’s blaming Kril for his own stupid and selfish actions. Tells Firth how he’s glad he failed to kill him because it’s only fair that he gets to live through the consequences of said actions along with everyone else.

And this is what finally completely shatters Firths world view. He knows Kril is right, has been thinking how Kril was right about him being selfish since not long after he got to Straits. How he very well could have been the one hurting other people like Strait’s been hurting him and all the other workers here in slightly different circumstances.

Firth finally just crumbles. Like full on sobbing crumbles as all the guilt, stress, grief, fear and anger and accepts the fact Kril is probably finally going to kill him here, thinks he deserves it even, he knew Kril would make it quick. That Kril was still merciful.

And that’s when Kril finally stops looking through his lenses of anger and finally takes a good look at Firth. Realizes just how beaten down and broken he looks. He’s injured, looks like he’s barely been getting anything to eat and Kril swears he sees the early signs of a gunk infection on him.

As much as he’s still upset with Firth he just feels like sort of a bully now. Firth is in no better of a position than all the other crabs here. Kril is stronger and in better shape than him by a long shot and Kril still decided to beat him up. Whether or not he still thought Firth was a complete jerk he didn’t think he deserved this.

So Kril tells Firth to wait right there and that he would be right back.

He goes off to find Chitan who had went ahead to go see if she could get a hold of Strait only to be told that Strait had escaped.

He tells Chitan he wants to help Firth. Chitan is far from enthusiastic seeing as Firth almost let her die because he stole the Whorl and then poisoned the entire city. She kind of wants to just kill Firth and be done with it but she sees Kril is trying to help someone and is willing to help him with that with the caveat that if Firth fucks up too bad and becomes a threat they do away with him.

They begin deciding where they want to take Firth because they don’t know of any family he has and they saw how his last friend went.

And then Kril lands on Moonsnail! Kril knows Moonsnail won’t hurt Firth, y’know probably.

They bring Firth to Moonsnail, not realizing they are about to put Firth with someone who is he is going to hate between Moonsnail narrating his own and everyone else’s actions and the fact Firth is now pretty scared of Umami Magic thanks to the Whorl.

Kril very briefly thinks this might be a bad idea before deciding they don’t have any better ones and there’s a Moonsnail shell right there so he can just come check on them every now and then. Chitan thinks the thought of both Firth and Moonsnail tormenting eachother is entertaining so she isn’t about to start thinking about anything other options either.

Cue the one of the stupidest situations Firth has ever been in. Moonsnail narrates whatever Firth does half the time because he finds it amusing. Firth is still scared of magic but his irritation with Moonsnail far outweighs any fear of him. And he can’t even bring himself to be mad at Kril for this. Kril didn’t have to help him with any of this, especially after all the shit he’s pulled, but he still did and even came by to check on him on a regular basis. Every time he mentally curses Kril for bringing him here he feels bad about it 5 seconds later. Kril still cared about him despite the fact he’d been a complete jerk so he wants to at least try and make him happy rather than do nothing besides complain about his new roommate.

Kril comes by to visit every couple of days, both to talk and check in on them, and honestly he does sort of just find Moonsnail’s and Firth’s interactions funny at this point.

Moonsnail eventually says that he senses some Umami abilities in Firth, gives him the magic awakening zap and tells Firth to try out some combat magic, Firth immediately hates it because it just reminds him of when he had the Whorl. So now he has new abilities he doesn’t even want.

And then one day Kril comes to visit them with a injury that’s a bit to concerning for Firth to just shrug off, because he does care about Kril quite a bit at this point if he’s being honest.

So rather than combat magic Moonsnail tells him to try healing magic instead. And what do you know he has a knack for it.

This is what I have outlined out for the most part. There’s a good chance this is going to get shippy with Kril and Firth and because they make a great enemies to lovers ship and I love something that’s one sided pining before it gets to be two sided and theybalso work really well for that, but they might also just become close friends we’ll see what I’m vibing with more.

☆ SMG4's Afterlife After Show

I have my own version of the whole "all the dead smg4 characters exist in a space together and hang out" thing but they're not like. In heaven.

They're just kinda in this never ending white void liminal space type area ?? They've got a peaches castle in there so they have a place to actually live. As for why it's there?? I dunno and neither to they. It wasn't there to begin with and only just recently showed up. Smth abt that castle never being used in an smg4 vid again or at least fir a while idk I forgot my thought process behind it.

Other than that there's a gateway window type thing the group can use to check up on the living cast. Honestly since I've decided they have a castle the gateway is probably a painting. Tho an individual can also just project themselves back down to the showgrounds or wherever but that's just tiring and can't ever really last long so it's not done as often.

The gateway is how they watch the weekly (uploads) adventures and the projection is more so how they check in on one specific person. Axol does this the most, he sits with Melony while she draws or naps.

This au started initially by me having the thought of "What if in Western Spaghetti when the simulation starts tweaking out around Axol and Desti they glitch into like fucked up mangled versions of themselves cuz of how they died?" With Desti obviously having a stab wound and a halo (based off that one merch piece where she also had a halo) and Axol being ALL FUCKED UP. In fact here's a doodle of the idea for said appearance (<— This is in the context of this au so that's why he's so calm. I'll be drawing the aforementioned scene some other time tho).

But yeah that's how the idea came to be so initially everyone was gonna have somewhat fucked up forms

Zero was similar to Axol with the exposed ribs and had a broken half of Eldritch Zer0's horns.

Niles had that missing texture pattern Axol had on the covered side of his face and the other half of Eldritch Zer0's horns n some other shit

Wren was bruised asf from being crushed and also permanently sopping wet cuz he was in that tank when he died (fucking pathetic soggy cat)

Oh and Spudnick would have been covered in cracks and Fred would have been covered in missing texture patches if i had ever got to sketching them

pookie the pinkie saga has now become the bbsf saga w/ so many twists and turns that it will take me a year to tell u what’s gone down in like a month

me and pinkie had a massive fight that lasted 3 hours, i regret nothing that i said

me and bbsf get sat next to each other in AVID, claims he doesn’t fully know abt the fight and that pinkie only sent him a small screen shot + teacher and students r convinced we’re dating

first 2 days of school go by, i’m hanging out w/ only older kids

cow girl was gone for the first 2 days and orientation, we have 2 classes together and she’s the only one currently unaware of the fight so me, pinkie and the one w/o a name show her around

cowgirl wants me to hangout w/ them at lunch, i do, we’re all friends again, pinkie admits she was wrong

bbsf asks if i wanna hang out w/ him at lunch, w/o everyone else, i agree

a little school mixer happens, only bbsf goes, meets this girl that imma call flor

flor switches into mine and bbsf’s avid, makes seating switch, separating me from bbsf and all of my other friends

bbsf tells me that flor has a crush on him, but he doesn’t like her

bbsf tells pinkie that he DOES like her

next morning, walking into class bbsf says that i just completely ignored the “really bad fight she had w/ us and she’s now following me around at lunch. i even have ss to prove it” to flor, everyone in the group confirms that he was lying, he also lies abt how close we r to flor

i find out that an older boy (cross) likes me, tells group

football game happens, i was w/ mine and cross’ friends, bbsf and no name r in band so when me and pinkie finally meet up, we can’t talk to them

because of this d16 tries very hard to reach the top ranks in the mines, not only to impress her boss but also becuase in ds mind that would bring them closer, in a sense. at least in ranks.

basically it's no secret that in japanese media, incest and age gaps are widely normalized even today so just imagine in 2013 when kagepro was at its peak.

back then, kido and kano specifically were a WIDELY popular ship. here's the thing with the weird kano and kido (and seto too but mainly kano and kido) shipping, aside from what i said abt normalized incest and shit. kano and kido (and seto) being siblings is actually... sort of a spoiler? it's not revealed early on.

kano and kido are presented as 2 kids the same age living together and having different names. and they purposefully stop acting like siblings. SO it doesnt register until you get into their backstories. they're both adopted into the same family when theyre like... 7 or 8, and were friends before becoming siblings so people were able to use this excuse: "OHHH THEYRE MORE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS"

but like..... they live together as siblings for YEARS and to be honest im sure 99% of people watch the song mvs FIRST which u can binge in 1 afternoon and if ur watching with any sort of actual interest and attention, you WILL see kano and kido as part of the tateyama family in ayano's theory of happiness. not to mention the anime came out in 2014 which im also sure 99% of kagepro fans have seen. so to me that was always an excuse if it came from a very dedicated fan though i do understand it if it's from a casual enjoyer, like they truly didn't catch that they're siblings

The first thing I wanna mention is what Sonic said in the last page. I basically lost all the spare SA2 context that I had stored in my brain when reading this comic, so I just immediately assumed Sonic was right in saying that Shadow doesn't know how he feels. That wasn't entirely the truth. I mean, duh, Shadow doesn't know how Sonic feels. Sonic is internally suffering. He's confused, scared, worried something bad could happen to his loved ones if he just let loose a teeny bit. Hell, his concerns aren't even coming from nowhere! We saw what he's capable of when losing control! But thinking that Shadow doesn't know how that feels in the slightest??

Shadow was also afraid. When he lived on the ARK, and when he made friends with the STH cast. He had so much incredible power at his fingertips, and not only that, but he was also the eye of the storm to an alien invasion! He's been terrified for decades, worried he might hurt those close to him because of his blood ties and his origins and... SO MUCH. For so long, Shadow's been confused about who he is as a person, having a lack of autonomy, similar to Sonic. And yet, Sonic still thinks that they don't feel the same. He thinks they are not the same. That they don't know how the other feels. And, in a way, no matter how small this way is, Sonic is kind of right.

Because Shadow's not a hero. He's an anti-hero, someone who does what he thinks is right and doesn't care about the public eye anymore. Sonic is a hero, someone who cares too much for his tiny hedgehog heart. He swells with emotion, and this sudden change to his appearance and abilities... It's suffocating. It's crushing Sonic. It's a whole new sensation that he is completely unaware of and doesn't know what to do with himself. Shadow, meanwhile, has been dealing with this feeling his whole life. So yeah. In a way, Shadow doesn't know how Sonic feels.

Still, Shadow doesn't see it this way. He sees it as Sonic basically being a hypocrite. So, in a fit of rage and disappointment, he lets Dark Gaia take control.

I do wanna ask something abt this real quick: How does Sonic not sense Dark Gaia's influence on Shadow? As someone who has the energy of that being fused with his very bloodstream right now, you'd think he would figure out that Shadow's behavior has just. Suddenly changed. You'd think he would piece together why his friend is acting this way and he would figure out that it's Dark Gaia, and not Shadow.

It's just a small nit-pick of mine tbh. Don't worry.

I do think there is an answer to this, though. As someone stated before, these two are basically walking into the lion's den, or I guess in other terms, leaving the frying pan and falling into the fire. This icy cavern they've entered is overflowing with Gaia energy, which could be the reason why Sonic can't tell it's now all over Shadow. It's overwhelming Sonic to the point that he's basically grown numb to it, so even if he could feel the energy all over Shadow specifically, he doesn't recognize the danger. He doesn't see that Shadow's being "Controlled."

Hi, responding to the anon who thought my Abigail take was condescending, and I want to say sorry that I came across that way. The little last bit where I mentioned I've read books? Sorry for mentioning that. That was moreso my way of saying "i am being serious as It's a genuine hyperfixation of mine." For context: I’m autistic also just really deep into my research & activism work, so then when I also started hyperfixating on stardew this summer the two kinda meshed together and now I’m really defensive of the bachelorettes cuz I think they’re all nagged on for weird reasons.

Just to be clear, when I mentioned ‘right wing vs left wing’ I was looking at it more from the lens of practice rather than identity. And I say that because when you get into leftist spaces, uplifting other women & decentering the patriarchy becomes a major talking point. I’ve never had girl friends who treated me like that cause they hold similar views. But even still, when you’re in love that becomes a whole other difficult thing to maintain in practice. It happens that people bring others down for affection when they’re crushing on someone. So I shouldn’t have been so black and white.

I have seen multiple definitions of pick me actually and mine does come from online not books. And I will say, the label seems to fluctuate depending on when it conveniently works as criticism of a woman which is a bit of a red flag to me, but just in my experience, I have noticed the label of “pick me” often be unfairly assigned to women with masculine interests without nearly enough evidence that they are doing it for male validation. And having been in fandom spaces & seen this over and over again, I got pretty annoyed.To add to your point, I’ve also seen people claim it’s because Abigail is friends with two boys. And I found this argument kinda weird because…. 1. We know stardew valley doesn’t shy away from changing the dialogue of the bachelors depending on the player’s gender. If Abby judged other women so much. I feel she would uniquely be harsh to the female player.

2. A lot of why I was upset in the first place was because I noticed some Abigail hatred in the fandom being centered around her proximity to her guy friends in the first place. And people calling her a pick me, mean girl that’s going to ‘take Seb or Sam away’ while wanting their farmer OCs to be with them instead. It was a top comment about her with thousands of likes on a Sebastian tik tok that led me to make the confession cuz I was annoyed. Obviously this isn’t the case for everyone who holds this view abt Abigail, just something I did notice with many and I find it kinda ironic. Tbh if I lived in pelican town I’d want to be friends with Sebastian and Sam too they’re fucking great!
