modern zukka go to a haunted house

Sokka really wants to go. Zuko has no interest but humors him.

When they first go inside, Sokka immediately starts questioning this decision. Zuko is like 'we're already here, we're doing this'

Zuko is impressed at the set and the detail

They have to leave their belongings outside. Zuko puts his phone and wallet in Sokka's bag before turning it in. He ignores Sokka's amused look when he also pulls out his knife to put away

They are instructed to hold onto a rope connecting each other at all times. Sokka makes a comment about how kinky that sounds

Sokka spends this whole time talking a big game

They watch a video before entering to set the mood for the haunted house and Sokka makes sarcastic comments the whole time

But when the door opens to let them into the haunted house, Sokka jumps and screams

Sokka tells Zuko to go through first. Zuko's NOT SCARED but he's like "Sokka this whole thing was your idea, YOU go through first"

They end up going side by side because Sokka needs to cling to Zuko's arm the whole way

Sokka screams at every jump scare, Zuko just laughs maniacally

One minute in, Sokka is screaming to go home

Zuko isn't really scared, but he is incredibly annoyed that the whole place is too dark for him to even see where he's going

Sokka notices at one point and is so distraught he shouts "I don't even know where the fuck we're supposed to be going!!" and an actor has to break character and tell him to just keep moving forward

There's sort of a pause halfway through and it breaks by a guy running FULL SPEED toward the two of them

THAT freaks zuko out and he takes sokka's hand, squeezing HARD, running the rest of the way out

Zuko doesn't even notice they're holding hands until they're already out

He was still totally not scared

Sokka is SO relieved it's done, insisting to Zuko that if that thing had gone on any longer, he would have totally passed out

This doesn't really mean anything in terms of concrete effects/specific legal protections for trans and enby people in Dane County (where I live). It's more like a rainbow capitalism thing, except instead of acquiring dollars they're scoring political points.

But When I Was (some of) Your Ages, this could never have happened, I'm pretty sure not even in the liberal hotbed of Madison. The benefit of publicly supporting enby/trans people can now outweigh the cost of offending transphobes. And I just think that's neat.

a) as for byler endgame i am. hm. i have been severely let down in the past so i am by nature a little cynical but. more than them not getting together my worst fear is that it’ll be some weird open ended left unsaid thing/they confess in the last couple scenes of s5 with no kiss no established byler moments ☹️ not too get too Analytical or anything but i think that having mike reject will would be such a disservice to his character and his growth throughout the series because it would end with will heartbroken and in pain AGAIN. this entire show has just been about will being put through the fucking wringer and i truly do think the only way to satisfyingly sum up his arc would be to let him have the boy !! let him have his happy ending !! they 100% didn’t have to make it mike that he was in love with bc having him struggle with his sexuality alone would have been very fitting in the story and they could’ve written a second love interest in like vickie, but they made it mike for a reason !! especially w no new characters being introduced in s5!! idk i am, like most people, a little apprehensive at times but i genuinely can’t think of a halfway decent ending where they don’t end up together especially with so many parallels to other couples in the show 🥳🥳🥳 (🤞)
