This is a very Soft(TM) Good Omens sideblog! I also post asexual fat-positive mostly-Soft(TM) Aziraphale/Crowley fanfic on AO3 under the same name. 42, visibly fat, ace demiromantic transmasc enby (he/him). You can call me Jack. Hello! • Feedist or other k/i//nk blogs: please don't reblog my art or writing on a blog with that kind of content. I frequently use myself as a model for both those things, and I'd rather not be coterminous with the personal times material of a complete stranger. Thank you. • I follow from ineffablemainblog. I have an About page and a page that lists my tags, but they're kind of still circa 2021. Asks will be answered anonymously or privately if you request it in your message!

My package arrived Saturday! It's another jacket, which is maybe a bit silly, but I mean, I kind of expected to get outbid on the other one. At least they'll serve very different purposes. The LL Bean one is very warm and cozy and will make a good fall/winter coat, whereas this new friend -- a vintage horsehide Sears & Roebuck Hercules -- is a much lighter piece for spring and early fall and, possibly, even some of those cooler evenings in the early part of summer.
Here it is drying out after I cleaned the leather with a horsehair brush, some pH-neutral soap, and as little water as I could manage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It needs repair or replacement of several components, and also a thorough conditioning. Next I will be cleaning the knits and probably removing the worn-out fuzzy collar! The undercollar is leather, in still excellent condition, so I can probably put whatever back on top of it -- maybe blonde-ish shearling? Depends on what the final leather color ends up being, but what little color I pulled away while cleaning was purple, so yellow may be a good bet.
Doesn't it look like it's been worn and loved so much?

Does anyone in Good Omens circles know where one could buy tartan fabric which vibes like Aziraphale's (not just a copy of Sarah Arnett's heaven's dress, but also the other Aziraphale tartans in this post), is light to midweight and sturdy enough to use as a jacket liner, is made of mostly or all natural fibers, and is yarn-dyed (actual different colored threads woven together, not a design printed on solid-color cloth a la Spoonflower)?

I forgot to mention, but the shirts I got seem pretty nice! I thought the one was yarn-dyed and it's actually printed, but oh well it's still a high-natural-fiber blend and also cute.
It looks like there's still a decent amount of stuff left on the site, so if you want to pick up some $5 shirts or $15 chinos or whatever then I say go for it.
Here is the printed shirt, which I got a size too big but, again, still think it's cute.
Tumblr media
(for a minute there I thought my hairline had a big update from the testosterone, but I found some pictures from 2020 where it was this short and the main difference is that the sides are much lighter due to encroaching gray)
For my fellow fat fans of masc clothing:
I randomly stumbled on a US-based men's big and tall store that's going out of business so everything is super cheap but there's like. LOTS of stuff still (as of when I just looked, June 24 2025). I inhabit a common and boring area of the size range that always sells out first when sites have big sales, but all of the things I wanted to buy were still available in at least one of the two sizes I fell between.
The company is called Johnny Bigg! I have never heard of them before today, so I cannot vouch for their quality; I also don't know how fashionable their stuff is, since I live under five rocks and get excited about the LL Bean catalog. But I figured I could afford a "$40 total for three shirts and shipping" kinda gamble. Others might feel similarly.

The Serpent's House // Chapter Twenty
Aziraphale knocked on the door to Crowley’s ensuite, holding a jar of herbs and salts. The children were down in the sitting room with Anathema and Newt, eating sandwiches and crisps and chocolate and watching a film about dragons, and Anathema had sent Aziraphale upstairs with a directive that Crowley use the contents of the jar for his bath.
“Better not to argue with a witch,” Newt had said to him earlier, winking, as Anathema had rubbed an odd-smelling herbal poultice onto the bruises on his neck, and so Aziraphale had done as he’d been told.
When there was no answer to his first knock, Aziraphale tried again with a bit more force, and this time, Crowley said, “Is everything okay?”
There was a fine thread of panic in his voice, and Aziraphale longed to soothe it.
“Yes,” Aziraphale said hurriedly. “Sorry, darling-”
“Angel,” Crowley interrupted. Soft, barely audible through the door. “Come in.”

This was supposed to be the last chapter, and it kind of is? There is an already-written epilogue which will be posted tomorrow to wrap the whole thing up.
This is far and away the longest fic I've ever written, and it's taken me ages to write, and I appreciate all of you who love this story and its silly little characters.
Also, thank you as always to @infinitevariety, who routinely saves me and my writing from myself.
See you tomorrow!

The South Downs cottage cosplay (with a garden)
Tumblr media
On a random October evening, I decided it could be a fun idea to cosplay the South Downs cottage at The Ineffable Con. So I built one. Out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, acrylic paint, and an embarrassing amount of glue.
Tumblr media
This project took me more than half a year and became a journey through visual storytelling, mixed media crafting, fun art techniques, and various engineering challenges. Such as - how do you actually wear a cottage? Or transport it by plane to England?
Tumblr media
I needed the cottage not only to be wearable but also collapsible and transportable. Which is why every part – including the cottage itself – uses a system of Velcro strips, neodymium magnets, and metal tape to hold everything together (more on that in a separate post with a ridiculously long video of me assembling the cottage while my friend laughs at me).
Tumblr media
Designing this system was challenging but extremely rewarding because now the cottage can travel. Which means I was able to take it to the South Downs, where it belongs. And bring the ineffable husbands home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The walls are painted with acrylics (because of my trial-and-error painting technique, they now have more layers than a Shakespeare character, but at least the cottage is insulated for winter). The roof, windows, and door are all made from popsicle sticks.
Tumblr media
The pictures in the windows are real British cottage interiors that I edited to create scenes from Aziraphale and Crowley’s domestic life. If you look closely, you’ll find quite a few easter eggs hidden within them. (I’ll be sharing the photos in a separate post so you can explore them in detail.)
Tumblr media
The miniatures (also coming in a separate post soon) are mostly handmade using various materials. From the St James's Park bench to Aziraphale's spectacles to Crowley's smartphone, they aim to tell the story of two ineffable beings finally coming home to each other.
Tumblr media
From the very beginning, the idea was to create a forever home for Aziraphale and Crowley. But beyond that, I also wanted to incorporate fandom references into its very walls - to make the cottage a blend of the fictional world and the real one. Because Good Omens has always been more than an isolated work of fiction. It is also the people who surround it - their ideas, creations, and the love they carry for the ineffable story.
And so, the South Downs cottage is my tribute not only to Aziraphale and Crowley’s happy ending, but also to the creators of Good Omens, and to the fandom that has made this world feel like home.

Nobody wants to cosplay as Captain Edwards?
(POST DATE: July 11 2025, please check notes before inquiring)
Speaking of buying leather jackets, anyone want a used Gibson and Barnes black leather bomber, men's size 46S? It's incredibly rare to find larger short sizes for sale, and I literally bought this just to test my understanding of my jacket size before getting something more expensive that I actually wanted, so I would like to release it back into the wild. 40 USD plus shipping, OBO. Nothing is wrong with it except I want brown.
(picture from the person who sold it to me, brightened slightly because I thought it was too dark to see anything)
Tumblr media
This is a civilian A-2 made for American Airlines by Gibson and Barnes, which I understand to be a fairly respected brand amongst vintage jacket nerds. Age unknown, but there's a url on the tag, so probably no older than late oughts.
It's made from some kinda leather idk. There is a Velcro patch for a nametag or whatever. The lining inside has the name "Edwards" in black marker. Captain Edwards seems to have taken good care of his stuff.
It's got a sturdy bulk to it and smells like dryer sheets.
There's more info and pictures in the listing I got it from, although when the seller says it has no lining, they mean it's missing the zip-in insulated liner. The jacket is in fact fully lined with probably nylon or something.
I will send it in the box I got it in.
(this picture, I took, although I cba to get off the bed to get closer)
Tumblr media
Here again is the eBay listing I bought it from with more deets! Message or comment with questions. I am in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, if that makes a difference.

Opinion: every eBay seller who lists a clothing item as size, say, 46, when once you click in and start scrolling through the product images you learn that the tag clearly says 46T, should be forced to live the next six months of their lives wearing only clothing that is minimum two inches too long for them.
They can have their regular wardrobes back after the six months, I'm not unreasonable or anything. I'm just short and would like to occasionally be able to have visible hands when I'm wearing a jacket, or in lieu of that, I'd like some of these sellers to understand my pain.
