i’m generally positive on johns’ GL stuff and i appreciate his contributions towards the lore and brand but my god his diehard fans are something else. those dudebro hal stans are INSUFFERABLE. they act like johns GL is god’s gift to humanity and discard everything that came before it and if you have any criticisms of it you’re automatically wrong. they think every character other than hal sucks because the only comics they read very clearly prioritize hal (eg. venditti) according to them, john is boring, guy is irritating, kyle is whiny, and simon and jess are there. they don’t know who jo and keli are. it doesn’t matter how many issues a story will have, as long as hal says some corny line and makes a giant fighter jet they’ll eat it up. i seriously can’t take it anymore.
