Sooooo i've been meaning to ask you this for the longest time, but... Whatever happened to Eve (or even her/Adam's children) in your AUs?
I think i saw *one* comic of yours in wish she interacts briefly with *both* Adam and Lucifer, so... What's your personal "take" or even headcanons of their whereabouts?
Oooh anon, allow me to go very off-topic for a bit. I'll get to your question.
The adamsapple community, and more specifically the Adam simps, they all seem to impose this kind of... expectancy? for artists and writers to have some defined set of lore regarding Lilith, Eve, Cain, Abel and even Michael too. Don't get me wrong!! I love these characters and I do like seeing what different people make of them! It's just that the way you're asking this question reminds me of that, taking for granted that if you're into Adam/adamsapple, that means you probably have a bunch of intricate backstories for his ex-wives and children.
And I know this is might be a bit disappointing, but I don't actually have that LOL. I don't actually consider myself to be very good at coming up with characters. I have like 5 OCs (total) and that might honestly be a bit generous. In the case of Eve and co., where their characters already have some ground work done (either by the Bible or by the fandom), I have a couple ideas about them, but I'm not actually married to any of them and you'll see me switch back and forth between them for various purposes.
The comic you're talking about was made specifically for the Jealousy prompt of the adamsapple week lolol, therefore, the Eve depicted on that comic was only meant to cause jealousy for that one gag comic. Eve doesn't really exist in my """AU's""" (I don't actually have any AUs besides Prison AU) in any relevant manner. She's probably better described as a plot device or even a character motivation. I like when Eve is depicted as a sweet woman, I like when Eve is depicted as batshit crazy. I'm not set on any one option and I will take and leave them if it serves a purpose for a story or if it's for a funny gag lolol
That being said!! That specific Eve design that I did was made specially for @goshdanghowdy, who requested a sinner!Eve. All I know about this particular Eve is that she died a winner, but then decided to leave Heaven and become a sinner to watch over her children in Hell. I based my design around nature and snakes and the sole characteristic that she's a good mother. But overall, that version of Eve is more goshdanghowdy's than it is mine :)
And just to clarify, I'm not upset or anything that you asked this question, like I said, I just think that this community has developed this expectation that everyone has their own versions of these characters, and I'm just not really one of those. I'm not opposed to ever developing them, though! It's more like, I'll make them when I need them lol
TL; DR: I don't have any set headcanons or takes on Eve, my depiction of her is not set in stone and will vary
#not all my comics are set in the same continuity either tbh#but I don't have like a set list of which comics go together and which ones don't or something like that#if I ever need Eve for a story or narrative purpose that's when I'll define something!#I'm also not much of an AU person myself#prison AU was a special case haha#hazbin hotel#ask

Do you have any johnlock fic recs :3
( or parentlock, it consumes me )
Ooh so you want to go down this rabbit hole with me, then!
These are in no particular order, just fics I've read recently or just a handful of the many authors this fandom has to offer whom I respect deeply.
Parentlock has been all I've been reading for the last several weeks, honestly, been on a real kick & need it like oxygen!
I can't reccomend anything by JenTheSweetie on ao3 highly enough - her Parentlock is just deliciously in-character, witty and tangible. instruction manual not included and Immune to Your Consultations (feat. teenage Rosie, which we don't have nearly enough of in my opinion) have been my most recently read and are just *chefs kiss*
@lurikko also has written Ten Years (feat. scheming matchmaker Rosie) and A Weird Place (which is tagged 'Just raising their kid and being confused' and...yeah, succinct, brilliant summary, have re-read this one several times)
@arwamachine has written Indefinite Lines, a gloriously long post-S4 casefic featuring lots of lovely family dynamics between Sherlock, John and Rosie in between (one of the parentlock fics of all time, in my opinion) and I also got done reading Winning the Goat, which is so amazingly witty and comical and just generally wonderfully written.
Swan Dive by @hitlikehammers is 5+1 featuring an emphasis on the relationship between Sherlock and Rosie and is once again, brilliantly characterized and wonderful to read
Keep on Changing by philalethia is a good, spooky post-S4 parentlock fic (read it for Halloween, did not disappoint!)
I know @missdaviswrites has also written heaps wonderful parentlock stories and there are plenty of stories that feature Rosie as a character and lovely domestic/parenthood fluff out there on ao3 that I haven't listed (these are mostly ones I've read recently or that come to mind)
As for general Johnlock fics...! (Most of these, again, are what I've been reading recently or first come to mind)
until we fall asleep by @itsonlytext is set post-TLD and is angsty, tense, realistic, soft, quiet, and in-character all at once and is such a little hidden gem that not nearly enough people are talking about right now!
A Thrill Failed to Deliver by @jbaillier who I know by her dozens of stunning medical realism and angst fics, in my opinion never disappoints. Have never been happier to see an author come back from a hiatus, lol!)
An Ounce of Cure by @bakertumblings is another great medical realism fic, this time with John as the one getting hit with all the angst and whump
What it Can Be by @naefelldaurk is a spin on the end of TLD and offers a much more satisfying end, brilliantly in character and wonderfully paced.
@calaisreno just finished When Harry Met Mary which follows the events of S3/4 through Harry Watson's POV (brilliant fic for those who are sick of Harry getting reduced to nothing more than John's alcoholic sister; her role in this is brilliant, developed and enjoyable). Also read Déjà Vu which is part of her genius Off-Axis series (frankly in love with all of her AUs)
The Fallen series by @engazed is one I've started just recently but has already hooked me!
Thirst by @holmesianpose is another one I've just started, so not too far in, yet, but still wonderfully written thus far!
@gaylilsherlock wrote Cutting Out the Middle Man recently (along with the several other Johnlock fics they've been putting out at admirable speeds), featuring getting-together between John and Sherlock and Greg Lestrade as a wingman and the delicious Watson & Lestrade pub scene!
Double or Nothing by @crowson75 is a study in John's bisexuality, gripping casefic, wonderfully smutty and realistically characterized, post-S4 and finally sees these two idiots figuring themselves out.
Not a Johnlock fic (there is background Johnlock, though!) but instead it’s a Mystrade one, is The Habits of a Lifetime by @out-there-tmblr and is definitely a Greg x Mycroft story but also a beautiful and realistic 54k words of a Mycroft character study and is just too much of a favorite of mine for me not to put on a rec list.
I also highly reccomend anything written by @totallysilvergirl, @the-reading-lemon, @weeesi, and @7-percent.
Realizing so many of these are post S4 or S4 compliant but I just love some good fix-its, I suppose. Hope some of these are to your liking, as they are all certainly to mine :)
#fic recs#i always feel weird doing rec lists because there's just TOO many fics for me to list in one go#but these are all fairly recently written or currently being updated or just authors i really do adore and have done since before being on#hope you enjoy! (and hopefully one day i'll be able to self-rec as i've got my own parentlock fic on the way!)#ask#my rambles#bbc sherlock#sherlock holmes#john watson#johnlock#parentlock#rosie watson

TIM DRAKE NEEDS OUR HELP
I need people NEED THEM, oh baby, oh goodness do I NEED people who don't know much about Tim Drake to stop talking about the Boy Himself: Tim Drake.
Presented: An accurate depiction of an 18-year-old Tim. The over-sized T-Shirt that helps his already lean body make him look skinnier (therefore people would underestimate him, which is part of his personal fighting technique) worn for comfort over anything else adds to it greatly. He does not normally dress fancy, as is sometimes assumed of him. Wearing some of the Robin colors also help.
If you do not know what he looks like, that is fine, that is actually UNDERSTANDABLE. Like what am I to do, pretend I don't know why people don't know what he looks like? After over a decade of him mostly looking like a generic white guy super hero?
Y'all gotta realize, people did not care about Tim for a very long time, because he was basically the D-List Robin since he stopped being the main one. So they never did their research. He wouldn't even be written right. And his relationships and details of his character could change drastically between writing changes. It was awful.
So those that don't know, please try to learn why people sometimes say what they do about Tim. It's not all true, but in this case, it is true. And when we get to see what he's supposed to look like in a real comic, it's very exciting for us, because we don't normally get that excitement anymore.
I know, it's sad just to be happy to see our fav look like themselves, but it's the spot we're in.
Presented: Canon Proof of Tim's appearance, set when Tim was only months away from being EIGHTEEN-YEARS-OLD, he was still being confused for being TWELVE-YEARS-OLD. Showing how he does look for his age.
Like he's SUPPOSED to be VERY SHORT, he's supposed to look lean to the point of seeming skinny in his street clothes, people are supposed to underestimate him (which is why his appearance works so damn well), he's supposed to have a soft 'cute' look to him, especially young looking even for his age as you can see above, that is part of him, one of of his gags is that he's confused to be twelve even when he was nearing eighteen. HE PURPOSELY LOOKS LIKE THAT. It is an ACTIVE choice. It is not a weird thing people just randomly do, it is a purposeful character design choice, made for the character, for him to stand out, and be different from the other characters with.
It is NOT a fanon thing people made to infantilize him. That is just what he looks like. And it is exactly what some real people look like. It is ACTUALLY part of him. It is a CANON part of him. That is brought up so much, because people keep thinking it isn't CANON, when it is CANON.
Presented: A horrible drawing of Tim Drake, during an era that made a lot of people have misconceptions of the character we're only lately getting away from. But some people still believe to be the more accurate Tim, based on when they started reading. DO NOT DO THIS.
All because a lot of artists don't care to draw him right, doesn't mean his appearance miraculously changed within the canon. Or at least it shouldn't have, considering that'd be weird, and take an aspect of the character that made him unique go away. Which is not fun for any character to have them done to them.
So when ever an artist does DRAW him like that, can we gang together and say "HEY, GOOD JOB ARTIST, FOR ACTUALLY LOOKING UP WHAT TIM LOOKS LIKE"
Presented: ANOTHER VERY GOOD TIM. See how he's shorter than his friends (Bart's leaning), has a soft 'cute' face, leaner physique (looking skinny, but not scrawny like he isn't athletic), thick middle parted hair. These are the components of a well drawn Tim that people desire to see more. It will look different based on the art style of course. But these are what makes Tim's appearance suit what we know of Tim, and has been clearly established no matter his age. Here, he is presumably around 17-years-old. Possibly not even a year younger than he currently is.
Because seeing people who see him look different, when it's the right difference, and complain, because they are not aware Tim isn't supposed to look buff and tall and masculine, just because a lot of artists didn't care about who is ultimately at this point a D-List Super Hero...isn't really fair to the people who DO CARE ABOUT IT.
Presented: Something I'm definitely gonna delete from my device soon enough, but added for the sake of the post.
If you wouldn't take away from Dick's ass, don't take away Tim's appearance, please.
We know Tim is different, and that's why we love him the way we do so much.

we're all just the same, what a shame
matty healy + daughter!reader (ft. mainly ross but a bit of the band)
warnings: fluff, short, should I start rewriting atpoiim with h!r???
a/n: I hated this but now I don't think it's that bad. just short and sweet. (like the concert I didn't get tickets to 😭)
The band was in NYC preparing for the release of a new album, an abundance of press, a Madison Square Garden performance, and new changes to a show that was yet to be finished. Despite your father’s protest that you should stay home and live your normal life, you tagged along. Because it was a very stressful, working time for them, you were 100% prepared to take a step back and let them do their thing.
The knock on your door took your gaze out of your phone and onto the door of your hotel bedroom that connected to the rest of the suite you and your dad shared. “Come in.”
You knew from his posture and they way he slightly hid behind the door that he was up to something. Your head tilted in confusion, prompting him to speak.
“Do you have…fairy lights?”
Your eyebrows scrunched in confusion. “Why the fuck would I have fairy lights?”
He gove you a brief look that meant ‘language’ and then paused.. “‘Cause you’re a teenage girl.” He said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“No. Whatever do you need fairy lights for?”
“A fort.” His face comically didn't change.
You sighed. “You’ve gone mental.”
—-------
“When I thought I was gonna take a step back and let you work I didn’t think building a fort was on your to-do list.” He didn’t respond, just shrugged while sparing you a glance, then continued draping the fabric.
“Why are the lights off?” You said, walking through the hallway.
“Aesthetic.” He said simply.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever trusted your aesthetic.” You flicked on the tall lamp shade as you finished your sentence.
He looked up at you, bright eyed, and smiled. “Ah, good ideas babe!”
You quicked your head. “What?”
Without another word, he dragged the lamp inch by inch into it’s spot by the fort, then draped the remaining pieces of fabric onto it. “It needed height.” He said smiling at you.
“So why are you doing this exactly.”
He started to speak as he slightly struggled to enter the white sheet at the front.
“I’m gonna make a small one for the exterior, and in the video we’re gonna do a transition and it's gonna be like ‘look, it's bigger on the inside’ and it’s gonna be a metaphor.”
“A metaphor for what?” You asked.
Your father paused. “Something stupid?” He said, looking at you.
“Oh, right, right, of course.”
—-------
At the arena, hiding in the nearly empty dressing room, you were prompted to your feet when you father texted you telling you to come to the green room. You practically groaned upon entry. Adam held the camera and your father stood in front of it awaiting your arrival. He clapped his hands together excitedly and you groaned, preparing to turn away. “Not again.”
“Come onnnnn. I need you in it for the video. For your reaction.”
You rolled your eyes, to which he only allowed it this time because you were helping him with something. The small interior was already filled wall to wall with the band, who all smiled upon your entrance. Ross smiled the biggest, excited to see you, and opened up his arms wide, prompting you to sit with him.
Matty and Adam set the camera up and you switched to Ross’s lap while they did so.
“Hey! You found fairy lights!” You said, pointing up to the ceiling of the fort.
“Yeah, Uncle Ross had some.” Matty said, not taking his eyes off of the project in front of him and Adam.
You looked at Ross. he just shrugged. You knew your father probably just ran to the store to get them.
—-------
Your mind wandered back to the conversation in the room when your father commented on John’s go at jujutsu.
“You'd be mint.” He said.
“He’s too big.” Ross chimed in from behind you.
“No- What do you mean he’s ’too big?’ You have to be big in order to fight. Be able to sit in someone till they can’t breathe.”
“I’d be great at it.” All eyes turned to you as you spoke.
“You’d die in a second tops, baby.”
You shrugged. “Have a little faith.”
—-------
Some of the band left. Now it was just you, your dad, Ross, Adam, and Polly. You left to get a bottle of water and when you came back you found your dad sitting criss-crossed and decided to sit in his lap. It was a routine you’ve had since you were little, and a moment that always made everyone around giggle or smile, especially when you were little. Seeing a four year old toddle in with a snack in one hand and a blankie in another sit on her father’s lap when he least expected it. Matty kept his gaze on his phone as he readjusted his arms to capture you into a none-crushing hug paired with a gentle kidd to the side of your forehead. “Why did you wait till I was 14 to build a fort? I feel like that's a primary school thing, no?”
“How dare you deprive your daughter of a childhood.” Ross said.
Matty finally looked up from his phone when he rolled his eyes. “I give up.”
You and Ross laughed as you both pissed your father off for what felt like the hundredth time that evening.

surprise ma @baconburger2006, I did in fact see this! 👀
So there are a three main aspects to language learning: vocabulary, grammar, and practice!
Vocabulary
There are, of course, a variety of Na'vi dictionaries you can choose from. Reykunyu is my main go-to, though I also like the categorized wordlists on Dict-Na'vi. I don't have as much personal experience with Fwew but I hear it's good too. There's also the Annotated Dictionary, which is very useful when you need examples of how to use a particular word.
Reykunyu Dict-Na'vi Fwew Annotated Dictionary
Of course, just throwing a dictionary at you is not really gonna be all that effective for learning vocab—after all, that's a lot of words and it's gonna get overwhelming fast! Plus, you don't really need to know every word to converse in the language. The dictionary is mostly there as a handy reference to look up new words.
That said: don't underestimate the power of using the language! You'd be surprised how many of the common useful words you'll learn just by repeatedly trying to use them. That's how I learned my first chunk of vocab: by trying to communicate with the language. At first I had to look up every single word in a dictionary every single time I wanted to use it, but over time I had to do that less and less until eventually I'd memorized several words without even studying a vocab list! In fact, when I did try using a beginner's vocab list for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised by how many words I already knew just by repeatedly using them like this!
Vocab lists can still be helpful of course! You can make your own by looking up a bunch of words about a particular topic, or you can use Reykunyu's Study tool, which has a set of beginner vocab lists.
The study list that I personally used was the 500 Most Commonly Used Na'vi Words course on Memrise, but it is sadly no longer available, since Memrise removed their community-created courses 😔 Reykunyu's beginner lists should give you a decent start though!
Of course, if you're going to be learning new words, you'll also want to know how to say them correctly! Therefore alphabet and pronunciation are a vital part of this section (in fact, I'd recommend learning this before you start learning anything else). This video is a great introduction! 🙂
youtube
Grammar
Individual words are useless if you don't know how to put them together! A common mistake people make when learning a new language for the first time is assuming that you can translate a sentence by translating each individual word one by one...this does not work, because not all languages are structured the same way!
There are a few resources you can use to get an intro to Na'vi grammar. If you enjoy live lessons, there are usually a variety of lessons/activities/practice sessions taught weekly on the Kelutral Discord server, at a variety of different levels from beginner to advanced. Even if none of the sessions available at a given time look appealing to you, you can always ask for help with whatever you need in their questions-and-practice channel and you'll find plenty of teachers happy to help!
If you prefer independent study, these two video series could be helpful (though I'd still recommend asking questions if/when you have any!). Karyu Tekre's is more thorough, but Karyu Pawl's will give a fun overview of various topics.
Karyu Tekre's Na'vi Grammar Course Paul Frommer's (Karyu Pawl's) AvatarMeet 2012 Presentation
There are some other resources that'll help with grammar (and vocab) as well, but I'm saving those for the next section:
Practice!
One way to practice is, of course, to simply use the language in any way you can! You can chat in the Na'vi channels over on Kelutral, or doodle little Na'vi comics, or even keep a Na'vi journal!
That said, I realize that just saying "go practice" when you're brand new to the language can be overwhelming—after all, where do you even start? Luckily, there's plenty of resources that can help! Here's a few:
Kelutral's Na'vi Survival Guide Karyu Neytiri's Na'vi Workbook Karyu Pamìrìk's Na'vember Challenge
The Survival Guide currently only covers a few topics, but it's interactive and goes over some fundamentals of sentence building!
Karyu Neytiri's workbook is great because it gives you grammar and vocab and practice exercises all in one!
The Na'vember challenge would actually be a fantastic place to start if you're brand-new! It's a month-long challenge that gives you simple daily practice tasks, starting with pronunciation and gradually moving through fundamental grammar. Completing the whole thing will give you a fairly thorough overview of how to build sentences in Na'vi!
—
Hope this is helpful! I know it's a lot, but, well, learning a new language is a big task! It takes a lot of time, patience, and dedication. The good news is, it doesn't have to take a ton of time all at once! Consistency is key—you'll learn a lot more efficiently by studying daily for just 5-10 minutes than you will trying to cram a bunch of stuff for two hours every other Thursday and then not thinking about it until the next cram. Feel free to ask if you have other questions and best of luck on your learning journey should you choose to embark! 😸

I guess the only problem with being asked to take a “marie kondo approach” is that in order to find any fanfic that appears to be based in actual canon timeline and plot points and characterization (which does exist, and I’m not sure why fanon fans seem insistent that it doesn’t), I literally have to search for hours. I’m not joking, I consistently make fic rec lists, and I have to search for hours and hours for actual canonical basis. same thing with character tags on tumblr.
I’m not saying fanon fans have to stop enjoying fanon or making up their own content. I’m just saying that when the tags used for both fanon tim drake and canon tim drake are the same tag it just becomes incredibly annoying sometimes, and I understand why people who like to engage with canon (me, often) become frustrated
-
I have definitely had periods where I got incredibly frustrated with fanon! Around 2019, I was wondering if I needed to leave the Batfandom, because it had been so long since I read a new fic where the characters felt 'right'.
-
But, if you're willing to, I'd like you to consider what you mean when you divide 'fanon' from 'canon'. Because I struggle to find a hard line between the two, for several reasons:
1. Fandom is transformative. Every fanfic is going to have some interpretation of the source material. The line between what is too much interpretation and what is acceptable is different for every person. For me, I find it can even vary based on writing style or other odd things - lighthearted fic can have more noncanonical stuff in it than heavier fic, and still seem true to canon.
2. 'Canon' is subjective. I do not consider the movies or video games to be 'canon', and it annoys me when things from those creep into the fic I'm reading. (I'm okay with SOME Battinson.) Some aspects of the cartoons are okay. I consider precrisis Jason Todd to be an alternate reality version, but Donna's precrisis origins are more canonical than the dumb retcons. Wayne Family Adventures isn't my main version of the characters, but I'm not bothered if some elements show up in my stories. I'm ignoring most of the nu52, but I like Duke and I'm still watching this new Lian to see what happens. I doubt your divisions are identical to mine.
(Also, some things that I think of as 'fanon' have shown up in nu52 canon! I do not accept them as any more canon because of this.)
3. Most 'fanon' is based on canon. Canon Tim has weird sleep habits. 90s Dick is really lighthearted and joking around some characters in ways similar to fanon. Dick can canonically not be trusted to take care of himself if his mental health gets low enough. Jason likes classical literature. Etc.
These are exaggerated and/or twisted in a lot of fic, but where is the line where they stop being canon? I wouldn't bat an eye at a lot of this stuff, if it didn't show up SO OFTEN.
4. Most 'fanon fans' do know some canon. What line are you going to set where it will be 'enough'. And are they allowed to mention parts of the canon they haven't read yet? Is anyone allowed to talk about Dick's early Robin days, or only the tiny amount of people who have read the golden age stuff? A lot of the 'mistakes' I see are obviously made by people who have read ABOUT canon, but don't know quite how it fits together.
5. 'Canon' is FULL of contradictions. Yes, there are canon events. Yes, there is characterization that is consistent across 3/4s of comics. But. I'm still working on my sidekick timeline. I've devoted days to figuring out ages and passage of time. I've spent over a decade trying to figure out Jason Todd's motivations, and why Tim treats him the way he does. I've read all the 90s and early 2000s CANONICAL character assassination of Jason.
I spent years thinking that Donna's death was almost as foundational as Jason's, only to later discover that I had just happened to read the specific comics that focused on the fallout, and she only stayed dead for a short time. That happens to fans ALL THE TIME! We read a character summarizing an event we haven't directly read, and just accept it as what happened. But characters have biases, and not all writers care about accuracy.
-
I've read some Tim Drakes that I consider to be almost entirely 'fanon'. And quite a few that were so scarily 'canon' that I got chills. (Not all of which were similar to each other.) But the vast, vast majority have fallen somewhere in the middle.
I definitely do not want the responsibility of deciding which ones count as 'canon'! And I think I would strongly dislike anyone who tried to decide for me.
Being frustrated is logical, and I empathize. But the original post was about the impossible expectations some fans feel. The expectation to read thousands of comics, synthesize all the contradictions, and come to conclusions that match the 'true fans'. That's a perfectly reasonable thing to be complaining about.
If that's what some fans are experiencing, of course they're not going to want to engage with canon! There's no way for them to succeed, so why should they even try?
When you join THAT conversation to discuss your frustration about fanon, it strengthens that perception. When you call them 'fanon fans' it emphasizes their belief that you don't think they belong. And rather than trying to change, it's more likely that they'll double down. Canon is full of gatekeepers, so they'll avoid it.
#gatekeeping#fandom policing#fanon#canon vs fanon#usually don't do stuff like this anymore#I'm old and tired#but sometimes the words want to come out

hello i would like to ask you about your spreadsheet
i got so excited when i saw this u do not understand. i love talking about my spreadsheet
so basically early last year i got into dc for real and i was like i'm going to read red robin (2009). but then i was like, or i could not do that, and instead of just reading whatever like i do with marvel, i could take advantage of the relatively short block of canon that is post-crisis dc and just... read all of it. and i wanted to log all of the dc issues that i read and record when i read them. why? i don't know. i like lists. so i put both of those things together and set about making this giant, obsessively-chronological reading list.
i started with batman: year one and death in the family, and then i spread out into more stuff -- mainly robin, batman and co, but also titans and jla and such and so on, and then decided i wanted to go back to the 80s catalogue and also read green arrow and green lantern. i read everything up to infinite crisis (2006) and then used that as a starting point to make a second, more functional spreadsheet. so this spreadsheet is actually my second, and eventually the first spreadsheet will get sorted into this one.
i feel like the vertical axis is pretty self-explanatory 👍 sorted by series and issue number and then colour-coded by arc; sometimes multiple issues go together or an arc is only 2 issues and those get collated in grey but not named. there's also a hidden column on the far left for character lists, which is basically if an issue is important for a particular character, it gets highlighted in a corresponding colour (bart allen is green, rose wilson is orange, etc). i don't really use that column much so it's usually hidden. i like to leave myself notes on issues 1) because i am forgetful and 2) so i know which issues i liked most (for later rereading and also so that if i'm looking through back issues at the comic book store, i can go "hey i loved that one a lot"). continuity notes are part of the obsessively-chronological thing i mentioned. mostly it doesn't look this nicely colour-coded and mostly the dates are more sporadic.
i also have a spreadsheet for post-flashpoint canon 😁 i do not have a spreadsheet for marvel because i will never be able to remember all of the marvel comics i've read over the last decade and i'm not even going to try
#i'm always on that spreadsheet... everyone wants to wring my neck when i talk about my spreadsheet#ask#anon

Production stages of the Fan Comic of "The Wish Kingdom" !!!
(written by @annymation)
And as promised, here is the "schedule" I said I was putting together for the Comic fic production process.
In the end, this isn't really a "timeline", it's more like a list of what I'll do to build the comic. I want to make all the processes very clear and described to give you an idea of how it will be done and a small idea of how long it will take.
Remembering that I am a human being, not an AI to do things quickly, I have another life beyond networks and this project.
Besides the fact that none of us are being paid to do this comic (although I really wanted to, I'm not going to lie), all of this is being done on the basis of love, affection, positivity and adoration for the initial concepts dispensed by Disney, their classic films that really made that company grow and the main messages conveyed by Walt Disney while he was still alive: "If you can dream something, you can make it happen!" and "It's fun to do the impossible!"
So please be patient and kind to me and the entire team! I already love, adore and thank everyone willing to follow our project.
<3
Well… Let's get started!
1- Rereading and Separating the text:
Starting today (02/26/2024) I will be re-reading Anny's fanfic, separating all of her text into scenes, highlighting the following points:
Atmosphere
Characters (designs made by @uva124)
Speeches and facial expressions - the message
Thus defining "who says what, how and in which place?"
Since I will be doing the setting art myself, as the story progresses, I would really appreciate a little help. I'm guessing if you're reading this you've probably already read The Kingdom of Wishes and consequently imagined the scenarios! If you find any images online that remind you of the locations of the scenes in your mind, you can send them to me as a reference! I'm always open to references for drawings!
2- Make the "Thumbnails"
I don't know what term foreigners use to define the thumbnails that make up the first drafts of comics, but here in Brazil, we call them "Doll", in reference to the fact that the sketches are a "test doll" for the comic strip .
Anyway, I digress! It is at this stage that I define the composition of the scenes through sketches. This is where I define what appears or not in the scene, what the scene will be focused on, how I will guide the reader's eye by the meaning of reading the scene, where the lines, the characters, their movements and others will be located… It's a planning phase on how to portray the scenes; the most complex I would say.
3- Review
Here I take a break for two days or three days at most, to relax and forget about the project for a bit. I come back with new energy and review everything that was done, ask for opinions and suggestions from the team, in short, I give a great evaluation and improvement in everything!
4 - Finalization and Publication
In this last step, I transform the sketches into final artwork using graphite pencils, colored pencils and pens that I have available.
When they are all finished, I will publish the comics here and on all my social networks!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally....
I would like to say that yes, I will be posting spoilers for all these stages, watch them at your own risk!
Remembering that English is not my native language, so I really hope everything was understandable! But if you have any questions, you can send questions to me or any member of the team!
And if you want to know a little more about my arts, you can check out my Instagram!
Kisses full of light and stars!
Let's work!!

Organizing a Stan Twins-centric Multi-Artist Lyric Comic!
There's a song I've always wanted to see as an AMV or a lyric comic for the Stan Twins, and years pass, and I've never been able to tackle a project that big. So, I wanted to try to organize it as a multi-artist lyric comic!
The song is "Trouble", by Avicii. (See below.)
What is a multi-artist lyric comic? One where people sign up, and each artist is assigned a line from the song. Artists will then do 1 page for their line, and at the end, it's all put together. Here is an example from GF fandom in 2018. (Here is a video version that someone put together with the music.)
This song has 28 lines of lyrics, but it also has some instrumental breaks, and I've thought of a way to fill those that would allow more people to participate (particularly if someone was unsure if they could take on a full page).
Here's the song:
youtube
There's a lot of details to go into, so to keep this post from taking up too much dash real estate, I'm going to put more detail below a read-more.
Here is a link to a Google form you can fill out to indicate interest. (But we do urge you to read over the details below!)
The goal would be to complete this in time to make it public on August 31st or Sept. 1st, 2023 -- in line with the actual last days in-story of the show. Therefore, the due date for final art will likely be around August 15th or 20th.
I hope folks will find this intriguing! I think it could be a lot of fun!
@mercury-falls and I are the point-people for this, at the moment!
All right -- the way I've always seen it, the first verse of the song is very Stan-related, and the second verse is very Ford related.
Here is a Google Doc with the lyrics.
My idea for the instrumental breaks was to have people contribute smaller pieces of art that look a bit like Polaroid snapshots. If we can get the lyric comic combined with the music, think of the collection of Polaroids accumulating the way they do at the end of the show's opening credits.
There are two main ways artists can contribute to the project:
For lyrics, full landscape illustrations (which include color, lettering, and a background)
For instrumental breaks, polaroid-style illustrations (smaller, simpler pieces in square format). We will use these in a video edit of the comic and have them accumulate like the show’s intro during the breaks. (We will also figure out a good way to display them in the lyric-comic post itself.)
Your art should be canon-compliant, and can depict any time period of the Stans’ lives (past, present, and near-future)! Do with your art as you best see fit with your lyrics, but keep the focus on the Stans and their relationships with each other and other GF characters. Both original content and screenshot adaptations are welcome!
We also welcome collaborations between artists on full pages! We encourage every artist in the project to help and support each other if they are comfortable. On the interest form, you can tell us if you are interested in volunteering to help others with inking, coloring, or creating backgrounds! Or, you can tell us if you think you will need help.
On the form, you can indicate your preference towards the Stan or Ford verses. But once we have the team of artists doing lyrics chosen, we will randomize the list and then contact people in order, to ask about preferences for lyrics. If you aren't chosen for one of the full pages, we would still like to have you involved for the Polaroids! (And you can indicate willingness to be called on to do a page if others drop out.)
We will have check-in dates through the summer, with goals for people to report on the subject of their piece; to have a sketch or layout ready to show; and to show progress closer to the end.
We will be setting up a Discord server to help share information, and to allow people to post WIPs or just generally discuss things, and keep motivation going. If you really don't use Discord, though, and don't want to sign up for it, that's okay. We will put whatever instructions and details we have in a Google Doc, and will share that link for reference. And we can always communicate via email.
I (Eregyrn speaking!) have been involved in a LOT of fan projects over the years. One of the key things to ask of people who sign up for a project is: communication. That is, if you're having difficulties, just let us know! If you need to drop out, just let us know! Don't feel guilty that you signed up and then had to drop out. The thing that is hardest on organizers of projects like this is when people sign up, but disappear and don't answer DMs or emails. Believe me, I've been in that position where you feel guilty and don't want to admit that you have to drop out -- but it's always much easier on the organizers if you just let them know, instead of keeping them guessing! This is just something to keep in mind when you're signing up -- life happens! It's okay! But please try to let us know if something comes up and you have to bow out.
Here is the link to the Google Form, that you can fill out to indicate interest.

Can you please recommend some Cable and Deadpool comics? I have a few of them, a collection of one actually, but it's still not enough to scratch that itch of mine. I am completely in love with Cable's character and Deadpool is truly my spirit.
the cable and deadpool series (2004) is the definitive! you probably have a collection from there, but it ran for a grand total of 50 issues – though, nate was awol for like the 8 last issues. kind of hilarious that they just kept the cable and deadpool series running without cable. but that's kind of just how their relationship goes.
following that – deadpool and cable (wade gets top billing now) split second (2015), which is like, one of my favourite books of all time.
you know, someone asked me before if there were a storyline i'd like to adapt for a deadpool movie and you know - if i knew they weren't going to make a mess of it, this is the one book i'd love to see adapted. but it would be a mess. and it would need SO much set-up. but i love this book.
additional issues – you've gotta read new mutants #98 – it's just required reading - deadpool's first ever appearance, and hey, wade and nate's first ever meeting, too.
it ends so embarrassingly for wade
bound and gagged?? on the first date?????????
i don't actually really have an expansive list of all cablepool interactions – and i can't really find anyone who's put one together – that's why i'm sure there's plenty that's slipped under my nose because i'm oh-so-slowly making my way through cable's history of comics... but other such memorable moments...
deadpool (1997) #22
deadpool vs x-force (sexiest art in the world ever)
cable/deadpool annual #1 (2018) (i kind of hate it. wade has the most annoying characterisation you've ever seen, and i just get the feeling that whoever's writing it kind of just doesn't get it. but it has some fun panels to take out of context.)
uncanny avengers (2016) - nate's a bit too serious whenever duggan writes him, but... uh. i guess they stand next to each other sometimes and that's always nice to see.
also uncanny avengers #8 was so hilarious for this
always thinking about how nate just knew where to find wade. i know this means that even despite the mind-control rewriting all their memories and identities, nate and wade still found each other and were definitely having a hunky love affair (this lives in my head an unreasonable amount and i might write about one day.)
um. despicable deadpool? honestly i love when wade gets nasty. i love a nasty, nasty boy. he's so ugly and it was so bloody, and i kind of love to see it. (heart wants what it wants.)
please don't kinkshame me. but i find this very sexually gratifying. in ways i'm not prepared to explain.
this isn't by any means an expansive list - calling on cablepool nation, please add your recs in the replies!

I am VERY interested in your rftd au and I wanted to give you some suggestions on possible universes for the rest of the boys to end up in, but then I realized that I don't actually know which ones are best for the story setting so I'm just gonna list out all the dimensions I can think of with the pros & cons for each one.
I decided to go with 2003-specific ones because... well I just ran out of fuel after typing all of this.
Now on with the ideas:
og: taken by Leon (my boy!!!!)
Usagi Yojimbo: rural setting with limited technology, so Donnie would hate it (whether that's a pro or a con is up to you) has the advantage of easy access for the 2003 gang, but that might make it difficult to draw out story beats. Well established, but with a decent amount of wiggle room if you want to do your own twist on the world building for it.
Super Turtles: only really showed up in one episode but I personally think the universe has a lot of potential. Not much is known about them other than the fact that they're established heroes with specific powers, they weren't as close as the 03 gang, and they have an evil Splinter. That leaves a lot of space for interpretation! How WOULD they react to a turtle tot appearing out of no where? Would this be before or after their final showdown with Sliver, and how would that affect their interactions with a new turtle? You decide! (if you pick this universe anyways) They would PROBABLY be able to figure out how to dimension jump with the turtle tot pretty easy, if not as easily as Usagi would with access to the nexus.
SAINW: Technically established as an AU for all that it plays out as a possible future, so a Turtle Tot COULD end up there. It's got a lot of well-treaded ground, but there's always more areas to explore in an apocalypse! they would 100% be completely unable to do anything about the tot's dimensional displacement though. The Child would be very much stuck there until someone else comes and gets them.
That said, there ARE many advantages (and disadvantages) to each itteration of tmnt. 2003, 2012, and 1987 are the most popular to cross over with, but that just leaves more unexplored territory to play with in Mirage, the 90s movies, 2007, and the IDW comics (honestly, I think Mikey ending up in the IDW comics would be pretty interesting, since it has a strong focus on mystic abilities).
These are all just ideas though, so use your own judgement.
Hope this helps a bit!
...I'm starting to think I should just give this AU to you FSHGSJDJGD
THANK YOU FOR THESE UNIVERSES- it actually helps alot. I think I might use these >:)
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS💕💕💕💕💕!
Now I shall rub my hands deviously together 🙏
Time to make some sheets and weep cause of the amount of comics I've started- its times like these that make me miss the computer /j

The Lost Titans in Canon: Jason and Rose
I already talked about Jason and Eddie's canon friendship, so next up, I want to talk about Jason and Rose. They're an interesting duo, actually, because even though they have appeared in far more comics together than Jason and Eddie, a lot of them take place in Elseworlds, or timelines that are in questionable continuity these days. It's only in the past couple of years that this relationship has really picked up the pace - and to a certain extent, only in the past couple of days.
Jason and Rose first interacted in Red Hood and the Outlaws, the New 52 volume. Rose turns up hunting the Outlaws, and it's revealed that she and Jason have a sexual past. Because it's RHATO, she's of course written appallingly out of character:
Awful.
The very next issue, the book is canceled. Jason and Rose walk off together, but when we next see Jason in Red Hood/Arsenal like four seconds later, Rose is nowhere in sight.
Anyway, this history and interaction are...let's say in dubious continuity. Rose's appearance here barely jives with anything else she did in the DCU (most of which was also written incoherently by Lobdell), and everything about New 52 Rose was instantly retconned out of existence by Rebirth. Then again, you could say the same thing about Jason and Roy.
Ever since, DC has treated Jason and Rose like they have romantic history of some kind, or at least there are references to sexual tension between them, but no one is ever specific about exactly what their history is.
Next up is DCeased: The Unkillables, a miniseries set in the DCeased universe. Jason and Rose actually wind up getting married in this universe, but obviously it's not actually in continuity because it's an AU. Still, they're pretty cute:
(This ends tragically, of course, because DCeased.)
Speaking of AUs, we also saw these two together in Future State, a possible dystopian future. They are definitely sleeping together, but while Rose spends most of her time making double entendres, Jason is distant and brooding, until she gets pissed off:
Still, she shows up later to rescue him, and they actually manage to end that AU together and alive (for now):
Okay, so much for AUs and potentially retconned-away interactions. What about the in continuity stuff?
Well, this single panel happened during Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last Stories of the DC Universe, which was sort of the transitional event between the end of Rebirth and completely rolling back the remnants of the New 52:
Is it still in continuity? Do any of the characters remember it? I HAVE NO IDEA.
Next is Robin, when Rose tells Jason that Damian has entered the assassin tournament on Lazarus Island, and the former Robins show up to try to stop him. Rose and Jason don't interact directly, but we do get this:
Great question, Damian! NO ONE KNOWS.
Rose and Jason FINALLY interact ONE HUNDRED PERCENT IN CURRENT CONTINUITY FOR SURE in The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing, when she rescues him from a police van and they both look ridiculously hot about it:
I'm assuming she's calling him "lover boy" because they've hooked up, but if you've read any of my work you know I'm a Jason Todd Secret Virgin truther, so I'm choosing to read it ambiguously. I'm also choosing to read her last line as her having the hots for Steph. (Rose, like me, prefers Naughty Robins only.) Anyway, she's been roped into the plot of this book, but it's still ongoing so who knows how it'll resolve. (Spoiler: not with Jason successfully killing the Joker!)
That was going to be my whole list when I started this post, but then Batman/Catwoman: Gotham War: Red Hood #2 came out, and who should show up but Rose!
We've seen this dynamic from them before: Rose cracks sex jokes, Jason is stoic and terse and Focused On The Mission. I'm of two minds about this - it's fun to read, and Rose does tend to make bawdy jokes (she did grow up in a brothel, after all), whereas Jason ranges from stoic to equally sassy depending on who's writing him, so I wouldn't necessarily say it's out of character for either of them. It's more that Rose is always depicted as the one pursuing Jason, whereas he has Important Manly Things to think about instead. (See also: Bruce and Selina, Bruce and Talia, Bruce and any woman, any man in comics and any woman.) Just because it's not technically OOC doesn't mean it doesn't overlap into a sexist trope.
(I kind of love the idea that she is literally only doing it because she knows it embarrasses him and he is Focusing On The Mission to hide his blush and they both know they aren't going to fuck, but that's a personal headcanon and not really the Occam's Razor interpretation of these scenes, which are definitely meant to imply that they are banging.)
What I did find interesting about this issue is that it's the first one in continuity to show genuine concern and affection between the characters:
Do I think Rose would ever stand with her toes together like that past the age of 12? No. But this is still very touching.
Anyway, JayRose is one of those pairings that I don't ship but am perfectly fine seeing unfold in canon. I totally get why DC would pair them, I totally get what they would see in each other, I think it will all end in disaster but that can be fun to watch. It'll be interesting to see if DC commits to actually telling an in-continuity story with these two, or if they will forever be restricted to her showing up and making a dick joke that Jason will ignore because of how he's sad inside. Time will tell!

So you really liked My Adventures with Superman... and you want more Supes!
I know quite a lot of people had their proper Superman introduction through MAWS, and are now curious to experience some more of him and his family. I can help you there! This post will go through some movies and TV shows you can check out for some more Superman greatness.
As a note, I'm not much of a comics person, so if you're interested in that I will plug @luthwhore's Superman Recommended Reading list.
Movies
Superman: Man of Tomorrow
This movie is an origin story for Superman, and it's pretty good! It borrows from several of his comics origins without directly adapting any of them. It understands the core appeal of his character, this time placing a heavy focus on Superman as an immigrant to Earth to explore the dichotomy of being both human and alien. This is the beginning of a shared universe of DC films known as the Tomorrowverse, which you can check out if you like. Personally I felt the other films were very hit and miss, but your mileage may vary.
Superman (1978)
This is one of those movies that's so iconic everyone should see it at least once. Christopher Reeve is the definitive live-action Superman for a lot of people, and it's very easy to see why -- he's one of the few actors who can really sell Clark and Superman feeling like separate people. It's also had an extremely heavy influence on lots of Superman stories going forward, even bleeding back into the comics. If you enjoy this movie, you can continue with its sequels. Superman II is solid, but Superman III, Superman IV, and Supergirl are all a bit of a mess. There's also the 2006 movie Superman Returns, which picks up right after Superman II with a new cast.
The Death of Superman / Reign of the Supermen
The Death of Superman is perhaps the most iconic arc in Superman comics, but it's not really accessible to newcomers. This pair of films changes that, and is, in my humble opinion, better than the comic story it's based on. Both Clark and Lois have some great characterization, and it features the origins of Superboy and Steel. These movies are part of the DCAMU, a shared universe of films, but you don't need to see any of the others to follow along. That being said, some of them are also pretty good, so you can expand out to those if you're interested.
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies & Apocalypse
This is a pair of animated films focusing on a team-up between Superman and Batman, and they're both a ton of fun. The two characters have a great dynamic that tends to not get captured well outside of the comics. These films are technically connected, but you could watch either one independently of the other.
Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons
This film focuses on Superman and Batman's sons, Jon Kent and Damian Wayne, as they are forced to work together to save the world when their parents are out of action. It's absolutely delightful and a wonderful introduction to the Super Sons.
TV
Superman: The Animated Series
If you want a solid overview of golden age Superman, his recurring characters, his rogues gallery, etc., this is absolutely the place to go. It's charming, it's well-made, and it's just fun. This series is also set in the DCAU, a shared universe that includes Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Batman Beyond, and more. You can continue to these other shows if you'd like to see Superman with other Justice League members.
Superman & Lois
This show follows an older Clark and Lois as they manage raising teenage sons in their superhero world. It's a very different vibe than other Superman stories, being a more character-driven family drama. It also plays fast and loose with comics canon, often adapting things with a fresh twist to keep them interesting -- but it remains very true to the core idea of the characters. All the characters are excellent, especially Tyler Hoechlin's Superman. Also, if you enjoyed the brief appearances of John Irons/Steel in MAWS, you'll be pleased to know that he is a main character in this show, and he's cool as hell. His daughter Natalie (based on his niece Natasha from the comics) is also badass. S&L was originally created as part of the CW's Arrowverse, but was later changed to be a standalone. You don't need to be familiar with any of the other CW series to appreciate this one.
Smallville
This is a fairly different take on Superman, primarily exploring him as a teenager growing up in Smallville and developing his powers. Later seasons see him move to Metropolis and show how he developed into becoming Superman. It also features what's widely considered to be the best live-action adaptation of Lex Luthor. That being said, this is a mid-2000s supernatural teen drama that's very much a product of its time -- it's got endearing but inconsistently written characters, irritating love triangles, campy plot lines, the works. It's one of those shows that alternates between being peak television and being the dumbest thing you've ever seen. How much that appeals is definitely up to you.
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
I will be very upfront -- this is a series that will appeal very highly to a particular group of people, and not at all to anyone else. The show is more or less your standard Superman setup, but with a heavy focus on the growing and complicated relationship between Clark, Superman, and Lois. The plots tend to be pure 90s cheese, and some elements have aged pretty poorly, but the characters and their dynamics are excellent. If you're really interested in Clark and Lois' relationship, this is a must watch -- Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher have incredible chemistry. Otherwise, you can probably give this one a pass.
Supergirl
This series is all about Kara as she becomes Supergirl. It does take a lot of liberties with her character, and her characterization is quite different from both the comics and MAWS. But she's still a great character in her own right, and the supporting cast is also excellent. The show features Kara, her adoptive sister Alex, Jimmy, and more. Superman does make a few appearances, but not very often -- this is very much Kara's show. The show does fall into some typical CW shortcomings -- forced romances, love triangles, overall cheese -- but if you're willing to look past that, you'll find a great series with a lot of heart and charm. This is part of the CW's Arrowverse, which can be overwhelming to try and get into. But apart from the few big crossovers, you can follow most of this show just fine.

*In Regards To Wong Creating The New Avengers...*
Yeah, I'm done with Marvel. I'm tapping out. Any lasting hope I had, especially when it came to Doctor Strange. One of the last pre endgame characters left that is still popular and relevant is now completely gone.
Benedict Cumberbatch man...he was so fucking robbed of something more. It also doesn't help that he had acknowledged in a podcast that M.O.M. did not feel like HIS movie...which it wasn't...which is why it sucked major donkey balls. Trust me, you do not want to suck donkey balls, but I wouldn't doubt that the people at marvel are getting high writing this shit just by doing that.
I don't even know where to start because I was processing the "Wong will create the Avengers" information for a couple of days...So I think I will begin things with this.
STRANGE should have replaced STARK as the leader (or one of the leaders) of the avengers. Infinity War and Endgame almost hinted at the fact that this was going to be the case...AND THAT WOULD HAVE MADE SENSE FOR HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! Strange has problems working as a team, something that Tony himself had to overcome for almost ten years! The fact that they had this fantastic set up for Strange, especially when he is the exact opposite of Tony when it comes to his powers, and they didn't jump for it, like...ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? As a writer, this hurts me SO BADLY because it was the OBVIOUS thing to do! Even a high schooler who knew enough about the marvel cinematic universe would probably want Doctor Strange to go in that direction too! This isn't even a college level writing class thing, or a college class that trains you to pick apart every word from a book and analyze it. This is, simply, the most EASIST SHIT TO CONNECT. Even if you don't write for a living, you can just see and feel where they should have taken Doctor Strange and or the rest of the movies that followed Endgame. If it was me, I would have put Doctor Strange and Black Panther together as the next Iron Man and Cap dynamic, which again, with them being opposites (magic vs technology) would have worked so damn well! Sadly, because Chadwick Bosemen passed away, that will never come to be and with how bad the writing has become overtime. I don't think marvel would have the mental capacity to try to catch lightning in a bottle twice.
THIS, one top of my seething list of issues of how they disposed and misused Doctor Strange is why I am done with marvel, PERIOD. M.O.M wasn't even a Doctor Strange movie, it was a Wong and Wanda road trip movie that FORGOT they had set up something with Mordo and NEVER followed though on it. Plus, it didn't even feel like a Doctor Strange movie VISUALLY! That's what I loved about the OG movie. It was a trippy, surreal film with AMAZING effects that were also present in Infinity War, which to me, made that fight with Thanos my favorite scene in the movie.
In M.O.M, all that is GONE! Or is limited to a 10-20 second scene when Strange and Chevz travel to another dimension. I read a while back that Scott Derrickson wanted the second Doctor Strange film to be a horror movie, which sounds fucking awesome! But Disney was so against the idea that Derrickson left due to creative differences...and we got what we got instead...damn.
What makes everything a thousand times worse is the Wong pandering in every fricken film/tv show that comes out, and I used to like Wong! Mostly because in Infinity War and Endgame, he was robbed of any substantial screen time in those movies and I kind of felt bad for him because of that. Now, he has WAAAAY too much screen time, to the point where ALLEGEDLY, Wong might be the one creating the new avengers too...sigh...push an agenda.
Doctor Strange has only been demoted from Sorcerer Supreme once in the comics (I believe) in order to save the whole damn universe, but outside of that. Sorcerer Supreme IS his title. This is what makes him DOCTOR STRANGE, and to give that title to, essentially, your sidekick who does nothing other than berate your actions because your a straight white man is just like...FUCK. HOW DID WE GET HERE??? HOW???
I have no hope for Doctor Strange 3 if Marvel decides they are going to pursue it, why? Because there is no way a writer on that film can develop Strange and Clea's relationship within a single movie right before Cumberbatches contract is about to end. I literally guarantee you when Secret Wars is finally released. He will be one of the first ones to die. Without going too much into the comic itself, he was done justice there. With Secret Wars, his death will be agenda based, I would bet money on it.
So yeah, that's it. I'm done. I'll just sit behind my computer screen and continue to watch Disney burn. They already ruined all the other franchises they own, I guess pain is nothing but a flavor for them at this point...
Rant over.
Edit: Spider-Man: No Way Home is the last movie I felt Doctor Strange was phenomenal in. I wished they pushed the father/son dynamic with Strange and Peter so much more since Tony is no longer part of Peter's life...but don't worry. Marvel will revive everyone and none of this will matter in the end...barf...

Details I noticed in The Last Wish pt 4
This is going to go from the cave of lost souls to the end
When jump scared by his past lives in the cave of lost souls, Puss has his claws out as he jumps back
When the bear family is setting up their trap with Perrito, Baby bear says, "I just want to pet him with my teeth." Perrito leans forward, smiles, and wags his tail while looking at Baby's teeth
Goldi's blue corset-eque piece is held up by a brown strap on her right shoulder. It's hard to see tho bc it's under all her jewelry
Papa has a huge scar on his left arm that looks like it could be from the claws marks, maybe from another bear
Goldi death glares at Baby when they're all stuck in the trap while he screams about the bees. She is angry lol
When Puss flashes back to Santa Coloma during the panic attack scene, the colors are warm and it looks like it could be an afternoon on a nice sunny day. When he remembers it in the cave of lost souls, all the colors are cold. Everything's has more blue in it and it looks like a big storm is rolling in. It's an interesting contrast between how it actually was vs how he remembers it
One of the things a past life yells at him as he tries to leave the cave is, "Where's your litter box, Pickles?"
As soon as Puss starts reading the incantation on the map at the wishing star, it starts rising. You can see it in the background when Kitty confronts him, the standoff between all the characters, and even the first part of the battle, until it's all the way in the air
I just love the way Perrito says, "Yeah, I don't know what to do with this" as he gives the map to Puss after the battle lol He genuinely doesn't know why everybody wants it so bad
Every time Death hits his sickles together, his eyes flash white. This happens in Puss' final battle with Death but I believe it also happens in their first fight too
When Puss says he's done running, the shot is actually on Kitty, not Puss
This happens throughout the whole movie but whenever two objects hit each other, there's a spikey comic-esque collision shape like in Spiderverse. Puss kicking the cups of milk into the crowd in the opening song, Death kicking him in the final fight, everywhere in between, it adds to the digital drawing style and fast pace
When Death cuts Puss' boots, red flames come out of the slash
When Puss uses the gatito blade to block the scythes, it plays Kitty's theme in the music
In the wide shot when Death is stalking up to Puss after he tells him to pick up the scythe, the foreground is shimmering in the heat of the flames
When Perrito says, "Oh, I was just buying some time for Team Friendship." Jack immediately goes, "Team what?" which I think is a perfectly reasonable response to hearing that name lol
As the star collapses in on itself, Puss picks Perrito up while they all run to the edge. I guess his legs were too short to make it in time by himself lol
When Jack says, "What did I do to deserve this??" as he dies, Puss shakes his head and Kitty rolls her eyes. They're the only two who aren't 'scared but can't look away.' It makes sense tho bc they have the most experience with Jack and know exactly what he did to deserve this lol
The lady listing to the Commodore all the stuff she packed for him as they walk out to the boat looks tired and annoyed. When she sees that Puss stole his boat, however, she looks ecstatic. She does not like her boss and wants him to suffer as much as possible
Part one, Part two, Part three, Part five
#ok and that concludes this! I might do another one but I think I'm done with these#not bc i don't enjoy them but bc idk if i can find any new stuff lol#puss in boots#puss in boots the last wish#kitty softpaws#perrito#goldilocks and the three bears#goldilocks#goldilocks and the three bears crime family#jack horner#puss in boots meta#death puss in boots#puss in boots lobo#lobo puss in boots

Speed/Lazuli/Silvia: a Romantic Relationship that's not great...(1)
Alright, I said I might do this so here we go.
Speed the Jolteon and Lazuli the Glaceon, as probably everyone who has read the comic would know, are the main romantic pairing in Eeeveelution Squad. It’s a pretty big part of the reason why Eeveelution Squad got popular; due to this, people began wanting the relationship to happen eventually, and then came the shipping wars and all that with people arguing on who Speed in particular should be with as well as other characters but the focus is particularly on him. Then came Silvia which made things worse.
I’m not going to fully explain who these characters are because most likely, if you’re reading this then that means you're probably already aware of the characters so let’s just continue to this romantic relationship which I tend to describe as, “way too liked to the point it’s kind of concerning" as well as, "Speed's Bad Ending"
Now as the...two people who saw my drawings and opinions of the characters of Eeveelution Squad might guess, I’m not exactly in favor of Lazuli and Speed's relationship happening at all or the fact that it did happen in its weird way. To be blunt, I don’t like it whatsoever and I have several reasons why and a decent ton of examples proving them(this not only goes for Lazuli and Speed but also Silvia and Speed at the same time but the ladder might come a little later).
So before anyone that does ship these two or three assassinates me for whatever reason you feel like taking it this far because I say your ship is not good, do me at least the small favor and read through this before the assassination attempt…or just, scroll past this.
Also, I'm not holding it against EV for the writing and having to be forced to set them up together but I don't think enough people realize just how bad the relationship is written to be which I'll be showing a lot of examples for this.
This is will be the first post/part of my rant and it'll mainly focus on Lazuli's treatment of Speed from the start and onward. There are more I want to get to which I can't in this post because there are a few limitations like the amount of images but I'll get to them later.
Now, without further to do, let’s begin.
Starting with Speed/Lazuli:
Let’s start with the basic reason why I don’t like it which is shown in the comics pretty frequently and it’s the constant physical violence that Lazuli commits against Speed. For me, it’s problematic when the first thing that pops up in my mind when thinking about this relationship is just Lazuli hitting Speed and beating him up throughout the whole comic. I understand she has this tsundere trope but here’s the issue, or rather the issue I have with it, it doesn’t make sense nor do I support hurting others, especially those that you supposedly love which is where the trope is often found. But it goes a little further for Lazuli’s case where it’s confirmed that for the first few months(or at least a decently long time), Lazuli did hate Speed which also means that those punches were genuine either from embarrassment, pettiness, or just an argument that Lazuli 99% of the time turns physical.
Speaking of examples, here's a list of them:
I'm willing to give her an "out" for this one as it could be chalked up as accidental as Lazuli quickly apologizes for running over Speed, thinking he's just some random Pokémon in the way.
Lazuli insults him the first time they truly meet, keep this in mind.
Personally, Speed is in the right here, given what we see, Lazuli bumps into Speed, quickly says "sorry" and runs off. Then once Speed comments on it being "a bit late" and that he almost fainted, Lazuli insults him by calling him weak(she has no idea how wrong she is).
Afterward, her way of an apology to this new individual(Speed) is just demanding forgiveness and when Speed shoots back, Lazuli escalates it to a punch already starting their streak of Speed beatdowns which is going to be consistently happening throughout the comic to some degree.
Previous to this exact moment(Chapter 1), Speed calls her nasty but this time is more of muttering to himself as he doesn't yell it out, Leaf doesn't notice this leading me to assume that Speed didn't intend for it to be heard. Again, Lazuli escalated this to physical violence.
Despite it, this is the moment where the ship began in most heads I believe. However, if you look at it from the context and see what's being displayed here, Lazuli is embarrassed and Speed looks disgusted, and even if you count Lazuli's blush as flustered or a hint that she may have liked it, Speed's reaction does not at all show that at all.
Speaking of that moment previously, we see the aftermath and there are bandages wrapped around his ears, head, and sides of his head, and on other panels, we see his chest and possibly stomach. Keep these moments in mind.
Surprisingly, Lazuli makes an effort to apologize but then she demands an apology from Speed which he rightfully questions as it isn't his fault for anything that happened and he was also the one getting beaten up for it. Then Lazuli straight up threatens to take that apology back which hints that she might not be truly sorry or she's pretty good at giving a reason for Speed to not like her.
Not only that, a small thing to notice is that in the previous page, Lazuli gets up and close to Speed, Speed is on the ground and the ball hits Lazuli on the back of the head causing the damage Speed took. Although I would agree it's accidental, Lazuli is more or less the one that set them up like that.
Now imagine yourself in his position, someone that had beaten the crap out of you for them getting knocked into you, which led to you both kissing on accident(somehow), finally apologizing later that night. But then imagine they demand an apology from you even if you did nothing wrong and if you refuse, they raise an arm to beat you up again. Sounds like they're not truly sorry and just want forgiveness because, in reality, they don't truly care as much. Of course, some may make the argument that they don't know each other but that's the issue, this is how they started off and it'll continue on for longer which makes the ship problematic but let's continue.
I'll be also doing these examples to try to put it in the perspective of Speed because this is what he would be thinking and experiencing if this was real life.
Special Chapter 8, before Lazuli had any feelings(doesn't change much regardless).
Kris straight up jumps on Speed to wake him up, however, the difference between instances with Lazuli and instances with Kris is that while Lazuli gives Speed injuries bad enough to give limbs wrapped with bandages, Kris at her worst seems to just give Speed a mean awakening but otherwise, he's completely fine.
Meanwhile Lazuli:
Another punch to the face hard enough to give Speed a nosebleed, all in front of Sunshine by the way.
She also quickly assumed that Speed was being a creep even though all he did(and he explained) was he was just waking her up. Also, Lazuli clearly did not notice Sunshine standing there as it would quickly disprove the likelihood of Speed planning something since his adopted daughter is standing right there.
That would be correct.
Alright then, some may argue that Lazuli didn't have a crush on Speed back then and that's why she was most aggressive with him/those moments don't count. Now, it's established she does now like him romantically or at least interested. You would think she would begin to change her ways as so far, she's been doing nothing but hurting him physically, right?
Let's see how she's doing after this reveal:
You are right about that alright.
If you look closely, Speed is tearing up, that is how hard he got hit in the head for just simply forgetting that he promised Lazuli to take her to the bookstore (which he does later that day with Silvia).
Because Speed is not aware that Lazuli has a crush on him(which is fair, why would he assume that when so far she continued to hurt him), in his perspective, Lazuli is going from hurting him throughout the months to now attacking others. This is also one of the only times Lazuli aims at someone else besides Speed...which I'll get to later.
Speed then apologizes for rightfully snapping at her and Lazuli turns down the flowers, which in his perspective, is just a decline of a apology gift which is way more effort than Lazuli had ever shown so far.
With more Speed abuse, he is getting cornered and integrated by Lazuli who is assuming too quickly, Silvia is messing with Speed with the "big brother thing", and now others are judging him for it because of these two.
Speed truly is just getting screwed over half the time and a lot of the times is from Lazuli or others which eventually lead to another beatdown.
Flashback to their earlier times, keep in mind, this is what Speed sees and remembers. One of them is a reference to chapter one and it's just showing Lazuli beating the crap out of him by...banging his head or more punches, either way, it's something that Speed will certainly remember.
Lazuli...complains that Speed didn't take the punch.
Also, it has apparently become so common for Speed to get hurt by Lazuli that everyone else including Speed's siblings is not even slightly bothered by it.
Besides one time with Silvia, so far in the comic, Lazuli had not attacked anyone else besides Speed. She feels bad because everyone else is being nice to her which could mean that nobody(but Leaf sort of) has directly called her out on it in these past months which also means Speed had been getting punched, beamed, etc. without anyone stepping in truly besides a few rare times.
Anyway, this is another thing that happened in Special Chapter 8, this is how they started off and continued to be after the first day. Also, once again, Lazuli escalates an argument to physical violence.
This is so far one of the more truly friendly interactions between the two and this is also around the moment where Lazuli develops feelings for him. A bit too bad that she didn't change her treatment afterward as much.
But I will give this moment some props as it shows that they don't have to be hate each other and that they can in fact get along if both sides want to. This also shows Speed's character as being this older brother/parent figure to most which I'll get to later.
One last punch...should've been done a while ago.
Now of course, others could argue that all of these times where Speed gets hit is because it's just a "funny gag", or since Speed is level 98, he'll be fine so it doesn't matter, or the fact that's it's not just straight up physical abuse(which it is).
But I disagree on all three of these reasonings, this "funny gag" that is presented happens so often where it doesn't become funny if it ever was and it just becomes uncomfortable to watch or read. Also, the fact that Lazuli later in the comic feels guilt and Speed in this exact panel yells about the abuse seems to already show that all of those punches were not forgotten about and it shouldn't be forgotten about. Not only that, for other shows or pieces of fiction that presents abusing the main character or...any character, a decent ton of them doesn't include injuries bad enough where bandages are needed and don't happen as often as it does in Eeveelution Squad. Seriously, until like the last four chapters, the only chapter that Lazuli does not hurt Speed in was like Chapter 3(Speed did expect a punch to come showing how that's his first response).
Secondly, the fact that he's level 98 or "should be fine" doesn't excuse on what Lazuli did throughout the whole comic. She still clearly was hurting him and he reacted to all of it negatively.
Even EV themself agreed and talked about how this sort of relationship would not ever work in real life and should not have worked even in the comic, that the only reason why Lazuli got her wish come true is that because the fans wanted it so badly.
Speaking about the fans, all I hope is that throughout the years that Eeveelution Squad was cut short and cancelled the reboot, there was time to think and mature(or maybe you just don't care anymore which is fair). Even if you support it the relationship or not, all I hope is that this gave you some other perspective to consider.
Although I have more to say like Speed's feelings later on, I'll say it in a different post but I will end this portion off like this(I still have Silvia and other examples in Eeveelution Squad to cook up as well as other thoughts), in the comic from Speed's perspective. They first meet on a bad start and they quickly despise each other, throughout the months in Speed's perspective, Lazuli mainly targets and physically hurts him for a variety of small reasons and assumptions. Nearly every interaction involves a punch to the face. This goes on for months straight and Speed of course would not think that Lazuli might have romantic feelings for him later on, because why would he? If she did, why does she keep trying to hurt him? If this was real life, if someone keeps hitting you for small reasons, the last thing you would think is that they have a crush on you.
I think it's fair to say that we should start normalizing being respectful and caring to those we might have romantic feelings for instead of being rude or be physically violent with and that is something EV had expressed when they discussed the issues with Lazuli and Speed.
All of this is not really about hating the writing and wished a different ending and all of that as I'm sure others already expressed that well enough but rather, I think not enough people understand and I also felt like expressing my opinions.
It could have worked sort of if Lazuli was aggressive toward everyone instead of primarily Speed in the comic and she began developing feelings for Speed as she realizes that despite all of her treatment toward him, he still tried to be respectful and caring because that's who he is unlike others who still don't like her. But also in the same time, her treatment of others and especially of Speed shows a lot more in the consequences. Like Speed might be able to forgive Lazuli but decides to not share her feelings because her actions still happened and he isn't going to forget months of that treatment quickly.
If I had to give a quick writing suggestion for anyone(and also myself), try to treat characters like humans, it's okay for it to be fictional but have some relatable real-life aspects that makes the audience be able to understand how or why a character is struggling or what challenges they face. It's okay to mess up in your first attempt in a story, or your second or third, as long as you use what you learned from the last one to improve the current one, then write till your content.
Now anyway, back to working on Silvia later as I said, there is a LOT more I can talk about.
