Beautiful orange fungus growing on a fallen log
Reminds me of sunshine
This might be the beloved chicken-of-the-woods (Laetiporus sulphureus), but I'm no mycologist; I just like to take pretty nature pictures. I'm reasonably sure it's at least part of that genus, though, but even still there are a lot of fungi that resemble this.
As always, I welcome corrections and/or further knowledge. 'Cause learning is fun!

This is a side blog for @bugbeast; I post all of my major art and game projects there, while my nature photography goes on @bbbugsnstuff
This blog is for everything else, including reblogs of things that really activate my almonds.
Original content will mostly be whatever ideas are currently clogging my mind-pipes
Please enjoy the aroma

Tiger swallowtail caterpillar. Papilio glaucus, if I'm not mistaken.
I took 9 other pictures of this guy and this is about the only half-decent one. And "half-decent" might be generous.
Screw it, I'll just say it's "lo-fi;" people like that, right?

This poor bug's model glitched out and now it's stuck in a T-pose 😞

Actually, it's a plume moth. They roll up their feathery hindwings under the visible forewings while at rest. Why? Because bugs
No idea what species; what little research I did leans me toward the morning-glory plume moth (Emmelina monodactyla), but there seems to be a lot of variation within that species and other species look quite similar (or it's misidentification, idk). Still a somewhat unusual, but very elegant bug nonetheless.

Petunias in a planter outside the storage shed of a former workplace
There was a whole row of them in different color varieties, but I only took one pic like this one for some reason <(:0|)
