A new art piece using a more limited variation of the palette used in the desert themed pixel landscapes of my last two posts. The main art is still the same size (30 x 25 pixels), but I added a little frame around it so it'd resemble a cute lil' painting

These are the two pixel landscapes that I didn't include in my previous post because they "didn't fit the theme that well" plus the original inaccurate desert landscape
I consider these to not fit the theme of "natural landscape" because every other piece is set on Earth and lack psychedelic visuals.

"But bugbeast" you say "If you're worried about them being natural and accurate, why does one feature a mermaid sitting on a rock at the beach?" Because it's a person wearing a mermaid costume. "What about the blimp above a city? That's not really natural, is it?" Well- "And the cabins? The tombstones? All man-made objects, right?" Stop asking so many hard questions! Gawd.

more pixel art | nature photos | aesthetic stuff | my ko-fi
This is a collection of super old art (I have quite the backlog, and a habit of deleting blogs and starting the whole “sharing thing” over. I imagine I’m not the only one with that experience; low self-esteem is a hell of a drug heh – uh, sorry for the tangent I guess) that I made when I just started getting into pixel art, so these guys are ancient by internet standards.
I wanted something with a theme and congruence so I could make a lot of them quickly for practice. I settled on landscapes, with a size of 30 x 25 pixels so they’d look a bit like paintings.
They’re not that great, to be honest; good enough to share, but they’re very flat and the details are not differentiated enough. Also, they’re so old that I made the desert one before I knew cacti were native to the Americas and had an Egyptian style pyramid in the background. Oops. The one included here was edited much later (as in, only a few weeks or so before this post). Maybe I’ll post the old one later along with two others that didn’t really fit the theme that well (also only having fifteen makes the post look more aesthetically pleasing imo)
Guess that’s all I have to say about these

[Image IDs: Three pixel art images that feature a pattern of stylized magenta hearts, with blood dripping from them, against a pink background; the middle image also features a pink, blue-outlined love heart with an arrow stuck through it diagonally /End IDs]
This might seem a little early for Valentine's Day, but considering it was made, let's see here --
-- almost SEVEN YEARS AGO, I'm actually suuuper late

Extremely low resolution pixel art of a coastal city during a cloudy night (this is resized x5, original pixel dimensions; 35 h. | 27 w.
I've been in a creative slump recently so I did a lil' something to hopefully un-slump myself. They always say "Limitations breed creativity!" so I picked out an unusual, three-color palette I thought looked kind of nice and tried my best at a city by the ocean, slightly lit by the moon on a cloudy night -- and at the smallest size I thought I could work in
I don't know if it's good, but it certainly was fun!
It's like cardio, but for the m i n d.
My main goal for this year is to do more; learn more, make more, post more, commit myself to bigger projects more.
I intend to make more using this palette and at this size regardless, but if anyone has any ideas they'd want to share I'd love to hear them!

MUTE is a very simple 18-card game I made so long ago it kinda feels like a different life at this point. It's basically charades, but with colors instead of categories and you're not allowed to talk at all aside from explaining the rules; any player communication beyond that is done via gestures.
It has four rules variations - similar to my other game - so I won't go into detail about the specifics of each one, but the general run-down is:
Players pick a theme; you're free to come up with your own, but several "Theme" cards are included if you don't have the imagination juice to think of one
During a turn, a player chooses a color (how a player "chooses" differs between rule variants) and acts out something related to that color that corresponds to the theme (example: Theme is sports, color is green, player acts out a golf swing)
Other players have to guess what color their actions represent (again, this differs between variants. I mean, highly differs. In one rule variant you don't even guess at all, in fact. Though that one's more of an improv exercise in game form)
Tumblr media
I considered leaving this game lost to the void (i.e. unpublished) since it's very minimalistic; there's basically no art save for some little pictures used to illustrate the communication gestures. I had other plans for the game, but those never came to fruition.
But, eeeehhh…I figured since it's done I may as well make it available. It's on the Game Crafter for 6.99 USD (not including shipping). Or if you want a game with nicer art you can pick up Jewel Thief! Eh? Eh? okay . . .
I guess that's all for now

So...
It has been a ludicrous amount of time since I've posted anything substantial, save for a few doodles and photos. It's mostly been reblogs
I won't give you any "woe-is-me"s, but recent events in my life have caused me to lose most of my gumption and I haven't really worked on anything for a long time. Especially not any games, which was the whole point of this blog in the first place
I plan to change that
Ironically, the changes I intend to make will mean less content for this blog, but what is posted here will be more significant. Game updates and major art projects, things like that. I'd also prefer this blog only feature original content from now, so no more reblogs
Photos like these will be posted to my nature blog @bbbugsnstuff from now on, a blog that's been devoid of content since November...of 2023
As for reblogs, mindless doodles, and photos like this; well, I'm working on another blog for that, but it's not quite ready yet. Expect another update soon (and not months or years from now)

this was the year of the TTRPG for me! most of the art I made this year (and 8/12 shown here) were either for my DnD group or for the fanmade Mortasheen monster pack I was working on.
