Listen. I'm all for Tommy teaching Buck the ins and outs of being with a man - I want approximately a million fics in which Tommy is all sweet about it, letting Buck set the pace - and Buck's always been such an attentive learner; he's so quick with everything new, he's eager about every little thing. (And also just saying: I'm also here for Buck's pace to be like "Now. Right now. All of that." - which lets be honest, the truth is 100% somewhere smack in the middle here.)
But what I need more of is Buck getting comfortable. With Tommy. With the sex they're having. He might not have been with a man before, but Buck isn't inexperienced. He's had lots of sex and partners, and he's always loved to share pleasure with his partner, to give them pleasure.
And with Tommy? Oh god, Buck wants so much; he really trying not to overwhelm poor Tommy, who is so steady and gentle and wonderful.
But Buck really isn't the type to hold back. So, I need Buck to be a fucking menace - teasing Tommy to the brink of madness (with dirty texts and even dirties photos; one time with a video that really didn't show anything, but the sounds nearly made Tommy take his break early and jerk off in the showers.)
Of course, Buck would not let any of that on while they are with their friends; he'd play all innocent - while Tommy just wants to devour him whole.
I need Buck to meet Tommy right where he's at when he finally snaps and shoves him against the wall and kisses him completely senseless - and then I need Buck to push Tommy back with a shove against his chest and a grin in place and ask, all out of nowhere
"Can I fuck you?"
Tommy is flexible either way, but with his Evan, he wants it; he wants it so badly that all the air leaves his lungs in a rush as he stares at Buck and feels himself smile in delight.
"I'd love that, baby."
And that's the thing: Tommy does love it - but he never expected Buck to take charge like he does, and it does things to him - the kind of things that leave him a moaning, drooling, begging mess. And he's not usually this desperate, but with Buck, he pleads him to go harder, to fuck him again, and then again.
Tommy is so sore the next day, it's almost kind of funny again. But he doesn't regret it one bit, in fact, he curls up next to his sweet, incredible, dominating boyfriend and can't wait to do it all again.
And yes. I need so many more fics about that.

A thinky thought about the hospital scene in 8.05.
I am... torn about it. Why, you may ask? (You probably aren't.) Because the part of me that experiences somewhat extreme rejection sensitivity, even perceived rejection, watches Tommy burst out in laughter at Buck, who IS being pretty ridiculous, without ever saying anything to... I dunno... soothe him? Assuage his fears of looking stupid? And I look at Bucks face and kind of see the hurt because he expected Tommy to understand.
The other part of me, the logical, adult, "mature" part of my brain, understands that if you're there for you partner 90% of the time, then it's okay to laugh at them once in awhile. It's okay to poke fun at them. It's okay to not agree on certain things, or to believe in different parts of the spiritual or supernatural world., if one of them believes at all. And Tommy definitely does that more often than not
I think it's just hard for me to understand poking fun in that kind of way, laughing at something someone clearly believes with their whole heart. Especially coming from a friend or a loved one, and the belief doesn't harm anyone. (The same way it made me uncomfortable when Chimney called Buck stupid in an affectionate way, because my brothers and I don't operate that way.)

Heads up that I deleted my twitter account ✨
The only thing I feel bad about is also deleting my bucktommy fanart from there because i liked the bit of joy it brought to that sector of fandom there (╥﹏╥)

Just thinking how Tommy is a mirror of everyone at the 118.
He's got Hen's sarcastic deadpan humor and no bullshit attitude. He doesn't coddle.
Chimney’s love for movies and his sense of humor to lighten things up even in the most serious situations.
Eddie's skepticism and love for sports and other shared interests.
Bobby's devotion and care for his people. He's nurturing, he's fair, and he has his flaws and a past he keeps behind walls.
Buck's relentlessness and pure heart. There's loyalty and the need to do anything to protect and be there for everyone he cares for, no matter how lonely he still feels.
And they're Buck's family.
Tommy represents everything Buck loves and needs in his life and that is a perfect set-up for a future with him. They need each other.

Is it bad that I want the 118 to see buck turn into a complete mess in a way they haven't seen him before when tommy is in danger/gets hurt? Is it bad that I want them to see him sob uncontrollably, hyperventilate to the point where he almost faints, and scream so loudly his vocal cords could burst? Is it bad that I want them to have to hold him back so he's not in danger, only for them to struggle doing it because buck's so desperate to get to tommy he's using all his strength to break free? Is it bad that I want them to see tommy is it for buck in the most heartbreaking way? Is it bad of me to want that?

NO WAIT
you know how people with adhd tend to bump into corners and walls and stuff more often?
i’m imagining tommy noticing that buck does that constantly around the house. like constantly running into the corner of the kitchen island and table. so tommy takes it upon himself to block the corners if he’s in the kitchen so instead of the corner hitting buck’s side, the blow is cushioned by his hand, or better yet, his whole body. if he sees buck in his own little world as he rambles about his day, or something new he learned as he sets the table, he’ll take a few steps over, pretending to grab something as he cooks dinner, putting his body between buck and the corner. a soft smile on his face as buck apologizes quickly, before going back to his rambling.
AND
you know that video of the guy reaching over to block the corner of the table when the girl leans down to pick something up? tommy does that too. maybe they’re out for dinner with hen and karen, and buck drops his knife. tommy’s voice doesn’t even falter as he leans over to block the corner of the table, continuing to tell hen and karen a story. and it doesn’t go unnoticed by henren, who give each other a knowing look at his actions. it’s second nature to him, and he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it most of the time. anything to keep buck safe, even if it is from something as insignificant as the corner of a table<3

Something about even when Tommy is taking care of Buck there being this distance between them, Tommy is on the couch and turning off the lights while Buck is still trying to talk, Tommy is in the foreground of Buck having another “who are you without your family” moment in a graveyard, Tommy in the hospital, wearing a visitor badge, close but never touching, there but never there.
Something about Tommy being all over this episode and still barely there at all. He is in Buck- Evan’s- life but he’s not in it, he’s on the outside, always behind this invisible fence
Something about “Buck. The people who know me, call me Buck”
Something about Buck telling Tommy- his BOYFRIEND- Tommy all about this curse and this story, but it’s Eddie who has to explain the holes in the story Buck doesn’t know he’s leaving
Something about Tommy being in the room with him when he wakes up with boils but Eddie is the one who checks him out and makes sure he’s okay
Something about Buck being the one we’re shown to get Hens text about Denny, signally everyone else in that room, that family, who got that text except for Tommy, Tommy having to ask what had happened, having to be explained that everything was going to be okay
He is there but he is not, he’s in the room but he’s not apart of it
Something about only dreaming about finding a love like that, something about “you don’t find it son, you make it”
Something about Buck constantly trying to make it work with people, trying to force it to work with people because that what he thinks he meant, because love is work right? It’s something you make work
Something about him always misunderstanding the assignment
Something about the last time Buck was in a graveyard he was shoulder to shoulder with Eddie, talking about how a girl he just met sees him, all the while leaning on Eddie in the aftermath of his death he has accepted but never understood
Something about him telling Tommy that the night they met being the most fun he’s had since dying, something about how he connects Tommy and Natalia to an event neither where there for, as two people who can never understand the horror of those 3 minutes and 17 seconds
Something about Buck throwing himself into danger and adrenaline time after time and chasing relationships that feel like that because that’s love right? Something that feels like being struck by lightening and surviving and non of the side effects
Something about Buck not being able to sleep after his death until he sits on Eddie’s couch, Eddie is the person he comes too for when he’s restless, for the calm after the storm
Something about “it’s about how she makes me feel” “like you’re flying high” “like I’m standing on solid ground”
Something about Tommy being jealous of the 118 and the family they’ve built because he’s not apart of it, and a part of him knows he never will be
Because the roles have all been filled and the family has already been made and he is trying to build something with Buck- Evan- thats already been built

Sometimes Tommy has trouble falling asleep because his thoughts are too loud and he can't silence them.
The first time it happens when Evan stays the night, he tries to act like nothing's bothering him. Except that Evan is right there and can sense how tense and restless he is, so when he asks... Tommy tells him the truth. Evan, kind, sweet Evan, asks how he can help and Tommy doesn't really know because he never had anyone who would want to help but he likes Evan's voice so he asks him to just... talk. Evan does as he's been told and starts telling him random facts, his voice soothing and steady and so calm that Tommy eventually falls asleep.
It becomes a habit. Every time Tommy has trouble falling asleep, Evan holds him and talks to him. It's not always only random facts, sometimes he tells him about his past travels, and sometimes he talks about the latest documentary or tv shows he watched.
The first time Tommy finds himself restless and squirmy in his bed, at 3am, after the break up, he tries to close his eyes and imagine Evan's voice. He still remembers it perfectly, but it's not the same. He plays all the voice messages Evan has sent him, but it doesn't work. He's desperate, he had a tiring shift and he needs to sleep but he can't, they had a rough call and he's feeling scraped raw so he grabs his phone and stares at Evan's name and eventually presses the call button, holding his breath as he waits. When Evan's worried voice comes into his ear, he exhales a shuddered breath and nearly cries, telling him that he's sorry and that he knows he shouldn't be calling but he just needs to hear a random fact or two, because he can't sleep and he needs to and he misses him, his voice, his fingers in his hair.
Evan starts talking, no questions asked, voice soothing and calm as always, and Tommy starts to drift off, lulled by Evan's words.

Thinking about the bucktaylor of it all versus the bucktommy of it all.
And the way that Buck rekindling with both of them was actually all about Eddie.
But Taylor was never threatened by Eddie. And when she found out that Eddie had been shot, she immediately offered comfort and support, not just for Buck, but for Christopher, too, when she stopped Buck from going to him without cleaning up first.
There was a lot of hate projected onto Taylor, but the reality is that she was never once threatened by Buck's relationship with Eddie. In fact, she supported it. There's evidence she cared for both of them, even if only because Buck cared for Eddie. But she supported him through the shooting. And she noticed that Eddie was struggling in 5x11 the same way Buck did and encouraged Buck to talk to Eddie with that little nod.
Taylor understood that she was entering a relationship with a man whose best friend was a major priority in his life, and she embraced that.
Tommy, on the other hand, knows better than anyone—better than Taylor ever did—just how important Eddie and Christopher are to Buck. Their entire first kiss revolved around that very fact.
And then, when they rekindle—or at least start to—Tommy recognizes immediately that Buck is struggling with Eddie being gone. He knows what Eddie means to Buck. He recognizes that they are in Eddie's house and that that means something. Before they even hook up.
And then in the morning, when Tommy hints that they should pick back up where they left off, even knowing all of that? He calls Eddie competition and implies Eddie being gone means he's gone from Buck's life for good and no longer a problem for Tommy.
Instead of looking at this man he supposedly cares about and recognizing that he's hurting and offering support, Tommy thinks only of himself in that moment.
The difference there is staggering.
