BuckTommy AU where they get set up for a blind date.

Tommy's newly out and Buck has just been ghosted by Abby (in this AU he's well aware he's not just an ally early on). Neither of them is really in the mood for a date, let alone a blind one, but Chim (because he's a pain in the ass but also a great matchmaker) insisted and they don't want to disappoint him so they decide to go. They meet for coffee (because if things go wrong they can quickly drink their coffee and say goodbye) in a cafe downtown and immediately get along, talking about literally everything until it's almost brunch time and they decide to have one.

They end up spending the whole day together, slowly growing closer and closer until finally giving in to the physical touch. They hold hands as they stroll around the park at sunset, and neither of them expected for this date to go that well but it did, and even if Tommy wanted to wait because he's never kissed anyone on a first date he can't, he can't not kiss Evan Buckley.

The sky is an abstract canvas as their lips meet for the first time, sparks erupting between them.

It's the best first date they both had, and the first of many until they realise that love really is all around.

Ok but have we discussed how tommy has big hands and the first time he puts one on Buck's thigh buck absolutely looses his mind and tries to keep his breathing even but tommy knows his boy and picks up on it anyway and he squeezes a little and maybe slides his hand up slightly and Buck has to bite back a moan. (On the flip side of this is tommy being absolutely insane about bucks thighs and how despite how big his hands are he can't reach all the way across his thigh.) Anyway I'm having lots of thoughts about them.

Buck’s thinking about hands. Buck can count on the fingers of one hand how many times he and Tommy have had sex. The next time they do—tonight, please, he really hopes tonight—he’ll need both hands to count the number of times. So that’s the first reason.

The second reason would be hard to ignore. They’re sat across from Eddie, out at a bar for some after-work beers, and Tommy’s hand is curled around Buck’s thigh under the table. It’s novel, is the thing. He hasn’t touched Buck like this before—not outside. It’s heavy, the weight of his hand and his wrist and his watch. It’s sorta possessive. It’s a big hand. It’s a really big, manly hand with thick veins and thick tendons and fuzzy brown hair. Tommy’s got the biggest hand that’s ever touched him. Fuck—he’s probably got the biggest hand Buck’s ever seen.

That brings Buck back around to his third thought, which was actually the first thought of his day after waking up from an exceptionally inspired dream. He looks away while Eddie and Tommy shoot the shit, he stares into his beer, looks at the wall, glances around the bar. Buck wonders what it’ll feel like inside of him. He already knows Tommy knows what he’s doing with those hands. As a pilot, they’re sure and steady. As a lover—so far, at least—they’re intuitive, anticipatory, they’re- okay, his handjob game is unreal.

He doesn’t know what it’ll feel like, that’s very true, but Buck looks at his ice-cold beer and all he can feel is antithetical heat in his gut at the idea of the huge fingers on his thigh feeling him from the inside. The warmth of his cheeks is practically thawing the frost on his glass. Tommy clearly likes holding him like this, kneading and caressing at him through his slacks, but Buck’ll give him something to really touch. Tonight, no way in hell they don’t hit the two-hand mark.

Tommy’s hands trembled as he gripped Buck’s arm, his voice barely above a whisper. “You’re gonna be fine,” Buck lied, his own hands shaking despite his words.

Tommy managed a faint smile, his grip tightening. “Don’t let me go,” he murmured.

Buck leaned closer, his voice cracking. “Never.”

Tommy asks, seeming surprised, and Buck's eyes widen. "Are you kidding me?" he replies incredulously, staring at Tommy as if he's gone mad. "Babe, I don't think you've ever looked this hot." "They don't…" Tommy hesitates a moment, and Buck hates seeing him so unsure of himself; he rarely sees Tommy as anything other than confident as hell and it throws him for a loop. "They don't make me look old?" "Tommy, you're 40," Buck replies with a gentle laugh, "you're not old. And they make you look distinguished. Knowledgeable. Hot as fuck." He kisses Tommy again as if to prove his point, slipping his tongue past Tommy’s lips as his dick starts showing an interest in proceedings.

Then Tommy enlisted and moved out of state and they've never seen each other again, not until ten years later, when Tommy's a firefighter at the 118 and Buck has just finished traveling the country and they have a meet-cute.......
