You guys are sweet to try and defend Mama, thank you, always. Because at the end of the day, the reason I took the Mama Bear moniker is because of the forbidden ship. There were antis coming in and harassing people, there were internal struggles and it was a mess. Mama was ready to go to mattresses for a ship I had just boarded.

I did a little digging - unfortunately - and found the blog, and found the reference to the forbidden ship. At the end of the day, what was posted (whether they were referencing my blog or not) was tame, and no one seemed to care about the reference so I will certainly not be stirring that pot. Cubs, you gotta pick your battles - gotta know when it’s time to go to the mattresses.

People are always gonna shit on fandom, even from the inside. Unfortunately, it’s the definition of free speech - the counter argument is we can block them, report them, and wait for results. Actions have consequences, and eventually they will upset the wrong people and they’ll cross a TOS line and get shut down - it happens every time. Until then, remember to curate your own safe space, block tags, block keywords, etc.

Someone said we need to stop feeding the trolls - do not interact, do not reply or send an ask, because it just adds fuel to the fire and brings new players into their game. It’s not worth it.

Every fandom is gonna have people looking in from the outside, making excuses as to why they’re “not allowed in.” You’re gonna have bullies and “mean girls,” too. You’re gonna have popular people because they know how the algorithms work and how to garner favor and followers. The rest of us are just along for the ride - personally, I’m ok with just writing my little stories, posting on ao3 and having little interactions with my cubs. okay now for the fun stuff. You said you like Logan because he contributes to the group, but I disagree. I feel like Logan has contributed least to the group. When you say “he keeps level-headed”, I feel the opposite. Logan is very shy and timid, and he gets scared very easily. Logan is very easy to persuade and intimate, which is why he got bullied in the first place. Although he stood up to Barron, he wasn’t level headed at all. He was clouded with rage (which in part has to do with the phantoms) but shows he cannot control his emotions well. In many offical arts + earlier chapters, Logan is seen crying / hesitating constantly. Yes he has a reason to be terrified, but you cannot say he is level headed. Especially compared to everyone else. I’m not sure how I feel about him being able to make decisions under pressure. I think Logan is good at analyzing situations. Thats why he was able to come up with multiple theories about the phantom world. But I feel like in order to say he makes good decisions under pressure, he’d have to actually put these decisions into action. Logan is still very hesitant though and I don’t want to base his character off of one scene, especially because I’ve talked about why I feel like that scene was a cover up and not genuine. Most of the time Logan follows the instructions and commands of others. He actually buckles under pressure imo. like when they were fighting before getting the car, Logan would’ve never mentioned he was scared if Tyler had not spoken first. He would’ve just followed everyone else due to peer pressure. Logan always acts second. I honestly believe if he had saw Aiden on the roof he would’ve never even considered using his gun because he avoids situations that have a lot of pressure and responsibility. So no, I don’t believe Logan makes good decisions under pressure. Again that’s just my opinion and I’m down to talk about it more! but if you do want to debate pls js reblog this or put another ask in bc the comment word limit is so annoying 😭

These are genuine questions btw — I’m not trying to be condescending here. I’m a biracial + multicultural cishet woman of color (who’s not traditionally feminine but still very much identifies as a woman) and I truly want to understand why so many of you (mainly white queers) are this adamantly convinced that Mizu is canon LGBTQIA+ representation.

Why do so many of you feel this deeply entitled to a story that is actually not about you?

You may think queer labels are dumb and that there is no right way or wrong way to view a fictional character’s gender in canon, but in Mizu’s case it’s actually very racist AND misogynistic for y’all to do this.

Just because this show has queer elements in it, it doesn’t mean that it’s a queer story. Just because there are things about Mizu that resonate with trans masc or nonbinary people, it doesn’t mean that Mizu is actually those things in canon. Just because Mizu walks the line between femininity and masculinity, it doesn’t mean that Mizu identifies as both a woman and a man.

For the millionth time, Mizu’s story is NOT about being queer. I don’t care what your headcanons are — you can headcanon Mizu however your heart desires, but y’all need to remember it’s still just that: a headcanon. Your personal interpretations of fictional characters do not need to be universally accepted as irrefutable facts by everyone.

Even the show’s own creators refer to Mizu by she/her pronouns, therefore Mizu is canonically a woman. Plus, Mizu herself made it very abundantly clear in episode 5 that she never wanted to be a man, she just HAD to be one in order to survive and achieve her goals. Anyone saying otherwise is projecting and is also purposefully misgendering Mizu.

Blue Eye Samurai is about a biracial Japanese woman who’s isn’t seen as “Japanese enough” because she’s partially white and who isn’t seen as “woman enough” because she’s not traditionally feminine either. That’s literally what Mizu’s whole entire narrative on the show is about, so she IS canonically a cis woman of color.

There’s genuinely nothing “ambiguous” about it — Mizu’s story was mainly created by women of color (director Jane Wu and writer Amber Noizumi, who is biracial and was inspired to write this story because her daughter is biracial too) and they have heavily shaped Mizu’s journey from their own personal experiences as people who are marginalized for both their race AND gender.

Mizu being biracial is not an allegory for being bisexual.

Mizu being non traditionally feminine doesn’t automatically mean it’s lesbian representation.

Mizu slouching and wearing bindings is not trans masc, nonbinary or gender fluid representation.

Again, feel free to headcanon Mizu however you want, but anyone insisting this character is canonically queer is simply projecting what they want to see in a story that is not actually about them.

And no, I’m not “policing” anybody’s headcanons here. I’m simply reminding y’all what this show is actually about. As a person who is both a visible ethnic minority AND a woman (who is not considered “conventionally attractive” by the society that I live in), I don’t have the power to police anyone on anything.

I’m also not being too sensitive. I’m genuinely tired of white people taking resources away from women of color by constantly decentering us from our own canon stories.

I’m tired of white people always looking at stories about non white characters through a modern western lense and projecting themselves onto stories that aren’t about them, their culture or their experiences.

I’m tired of white people (including queer ones) coming on here and being so damn loud in the tags with all your problematic takes about the so called “ambiguity” of Mizu’s gender identity or sexual orientation.

It’s ALWAYS white people who overwhelmingly project queerness onto fictional characters that are people of color, especially when it’s women of color who aren’t traditionally feminine. And why? It’s because none of you can ever be bothered to relate to us without making our stories about you.

People in the queer community fighting over what Mizu’s pronouns are is the perfect example of how label discourse is dumb.

Mizu is both a man and a woman you freaks, the whole point of being queer is being something that cannot be defined. By forcing ourselves to only look at gender through rigid labels you are using transphobic logic. If you truly believe gender is a construct then you’ll understand that identity is fluid, always.

Also so ironic considering how often bisexual and genderfluid people are told they’re confused because they need to “pick a side” yet this same rhetoric is being repeated by queer folks over this show.

Mizu is a powerful woman protagonist and powerful gay representation. You are not disparaging either representation by deciding to settle on a set of pronouns. Mizu’s identity, in my opinion, is what being queer feels like. To love differently, to hate and be hated differently, a living example of what living life outside of societal expectations looks like. We love and hate like him because we are him. There are no wrong answers to who or what she is because she lives outside of those concepts. They are created for you to be able to project yourself onto her, if you had ever felt disadvantaged as a minority, gay/ trans woman, man, nonbinary, whatever gender you identify with he is your superhero. Our superhero.

TDLR: You are not being transphobic or misogynistic by referring to Mizu by either gender. Quite literally any pronouns queer icon.

BnHA Chapter 290: It’s Touya Time

Previously on BnHA: Iida and Hadou showed up like a couple of Pennsylvanias and Georgias to bail Shouto out at the last minute. Ochako and Toga had an exceptionally strange fight which consisted of Toga being all “guess what Ochako, I used your quirk to murder someone, how do you feel about that”, and Ochako being all “I do not like that”, to which Toga was all “:(”. There was some doll-stealing and some bookcase-yeeting, and then Toga left in tears because Ochako was all adamant that murder has consequences. Anyway so I have absolutely no idea what Toga is thinking now, but I guess we’ll have some time to stew on it, because we ended the chapter by cutting back to the Iida+Hadou+Shouto VS Afomura battle, which was interrupted by Gigantomachia and the LoV showing up like a bunch of Floridas to ruin everyone’s nice day.

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi hands the mic over to Dabi and is all “take it away, kid.” Over in Room 315 of Musutafu General, Rei is all “may I please watch some TV” and the hospital staff is all “sure”, and so she tunes in just in time to catch Todoroki Touya’s Peabody Award-winning documentary “Number One Hero, Number One Fraud: The Todoroki Enji Story”, which is being broadcast nationwide courtesy of Skeptic and his magic laptop. Meanwhile in Jakku, Dabi is all “I’M TOUYA, BITCHES”, and Shouto and Enji are all, “(゜◇゜ )”, and Dabi is all, “anyway so just to sum it all up, because of how much of a jerk Endeavor was, I am now Evil.” Everyone continues to be all “(ﾟoﾟ)” except for Dabi, who is all “└(˘▾˘┌ )≡ ( ┐˘▾˘)┘≡┗( ˘▾˘)┛≡┏( ˘▾˘)┓≡┗( ˘▾˘)┛” for pretty much the rest of the chapter. Tumblr Etiquette Masterpost

Hi! Because I have (1) anxiety (2) been on tumblr for more than a decade, I have assumed the incredibly narcissistic position of making a post about how to interact with people on tumblr, since I think I’ve mastered the basic rules.

UPDATE: I started drafting this post a while ago. I'm not calling anyone out. I mostly made this because I realized I had a shocking number of followers who are new to tumblr.

In this post I’m covering Asks + Anons, Reblogging + Liking, Following, Tags, and ~Making Friends~.

TL;DR: tumblr etiquette is about social norms. These are the norms I have observed in my time here. You’re free to blog as you choose, but tumblr is a happier place when everybody is following the same guidelines.

Yes I use the words like “have to” or “rule” in this post. No, none of these are actual rules. Do what you want, but be prepared to face disgruntled users.

Let’s get started!

All About Following 

Rule #1: You do not have to follow anybody you don’t want to. You do not need to let someone follow you if you don’t want to.

Tumblr is technically a social media site. If you want to grow your social circle, follow your mutuals’ mutuals. The internet is like real life. You do a Group Hang, and then eventually you get to the one-on-one friendship. (Please refer back to Rule #1)

Some of your mutual-in-laws might feel slighted if you follow everyone except them. That’s okay. (Please refer back to Rule #1) You might feel slighted if you’re the one not being followed. That’s okay. (Please refer back to Rule #1)

Tumblr is technically a social media site, but it’s also a place to see the content you like, not just the people you like. You can be friendly with people you don’t follow, or who don’t follow you. Some users are amazing people who just post the wrong content. That’s okay.

If someone posts content you don’t like, unfollow them. If you don’t like someone’s personality, unfollow them. Don’t be an asshole, don’t hate-follow, and don’t stress yourself out.

Asks, Anons, Messages

I tried to organize my thoughts into paragraphs. I really did. But talking to people on tumblr is messy if you do it wrong, and I’m just going to bullet-point some etiquette guidelines.

Rule #1: You do not have to answer any messages you don’t want to.

Your 500 word message should not be the first time a user sees your name

.....Before you get Venting Privileges, a user should recognize you from the tags you leave on their posts, or the comments you leave on their fic, or the other shorter messages you’ve sent them, or from being mutual-in-laws, literally whatever. But it’s Not Cool to dump things on people who don’t even know you.

The anon button should be used in two scenarios only:

.....1, to send a positive message. Not neutral! Positive message, the kind of message you send with heart emojis.

.....2, if you don’t want to admit personal information about yourself. The Venting Privileges Rule still applies even if you’re on anon (ie: you can’t vent! Because they don’t recognize your username!) and “personal information” does not include unpopular opinions. I’m talking messages like “Saw your post about living in Houston, and I agree!”

.....(Okay, three scenarios: if someone specifically asks for anons for an ask game or something!)

If you don’t want it posted publicly, don’t send it over an ask. Send it as a DM. You can always kindly request that the recipient doesn’t publish it, but typical tumblr etiquette is that asks get published by default.

Personally, if I follow someone back I like to introduce myself! Many of these conversations end after the “hi” stage, and I never force friendship upon someone. But many of these conversations also work as ice breakers, and make it easier to send the second message, and the third. Don’t worry that you’re being rude if you don’t do this—it’s also totally normal to just keep blogging as usual!—but it’s helpful in making friends.

If you reblog an ask game from someone, it’s just common courtesy to send them an ask of your own.

Tags, Blacklists

Rule #1: You do not need to use any tags you don’t want to.

(Are you sensing a theme? But this one gets a...)

But, be prepared to face disgruntled followers over this.

Tags are useful in so many ways. They’re a great place to organize posts so you can find them more easily later on! They’re a great place to show off your personality! They’re a great (and quiet! More on this later) place to show appreciation for content creators.

They’re also so incredibly helpful for your followers to avoid content they don’t want to see. If you’re delving into a new fandom and are about to reblog twenty posts in a row, tag it. If you’re liveblogging a movie, tag it. If your post (especially your photo posts) contains any common phobias or unpleasant things (gore, spiders, etc) tag it. And if one of your followers asks you to tag certain content, even if you don’t really understand why? Tag it, or else expect to lose that follower.*

*This isn’t about your follower count, btw. This is about being a decent person.

On the other hand, use blacklists and filtering liberally! If a user does tag their content, you have no right to complain about their posting it. Just filter it.

Reblogs, Likes, Comments

Tumblr is a blogging site. It functions on reblogged posts. That’s just how it works. This is not one of those sites where you scroll for hours clicking the like button.

Here are what likes are for:

Showing support for someone’s personal posts

Showing appreciation for someone’s tags

Admiring content that doesn’t exactly align with your blog (different fandom, inappropriate, whatever.)

Saving a post to find later

Showing double the love!

Here is where likes are most disappointing:

The original fic, artwork, or edits of your fellow tumblr users, especially in your fandom

(If you’re someone who regularly reblogs things, I’m not talking to you. You’re allowed to simply “like” posts. I’m talking to those users in my notifications that, day after day, like 35 of my posts and reblog exactly 1 of them.

Just reblog shit.)

Also, remember how I said you can quietly show appreciation in the tags? Only comment directly on a post if you are sure you’re adding something worthy to the post. If you’re just saying “haha me too!” or “I remember this!” just leave it in the tags. (Reminder! You can do what you want! It’s your blog and I’m not the police! I’m just teaching you etiquette! And the polite thing to do is to leave personal commentary in the tags!)

Let’s recap:

Aaaaand: Making Friends

Start small. Introduce yourself after you have mutually followed each other.

Leave nice things in people’s tags. They notice.

Send ask game messages.

Show off more of your personality. This isn’t a one way street!

.....You can do this by, well, reblogging things. Also by tagging things. Also by just making original posts.

Do not go zero to one hundred. You wouldn’t sit next to someone in class and start talking about your trauma (even if you heard that they share your own!). So don’t do it online.

Like people’s vent posts, and their asks, and their tag games. Reply to them, too.

Honestly? Do more tag games! If someone says “anyone can do this and say I tagged you” take them up on the offer! Tag other people you want to get to know more.

Last but not least, you do not owe anyone anything on tumblr, and no one owes you anything. Ignore the rude message. Block the annoying tag. Follow the users you like even if they don’t follow you back. Do not tell people to post more of X. Do not tell them to post less of Y. Do not ask them why they don’t follow you.

It’s so much easier to press the unfollow button than to be a dick.

First of all, y’all don’t get offended if I’ll destroy some of your fave tropes in fics...I don’t judge ppl writing what they want in their fics, it’s their own fic so ofc they write what they want and how they want it and if they have fun with gay-uncle-Izuna, CEOItachi and sluttySasuke good for them...but when ppl impose their OOC Sasuke (or Nar or Itachi&co) as the real thing, and boy if they do....well. Nope.

Anyway I replied to similar asks here, here and here, so I’ll copy-paste some parts. My Sasuke tag. More Sasuke meta. More headcanons. More essays tag.

Sasuke is not dominant. He’s not bossy. He’s not assertive. He’s very passive in relationships and he values individual freedom, his own and other people’s. Ppl mistake his determination in pursuing his goals with assertiveness but it’s a totally different thing. He never makes the first move with ppl, unless he has a goal and he needs them, and even when he needs them, like Taka, he never imposes his will on them. He first freed them then he asked their help for his own goal, saying that he would accept if they refused. He never imposed himself on his brother (a child wanting his big brother’s attention is not being dominant, it’s natural) and he never did it on Nar or anyone else.

Sasuke is not selfish, he is the most selfless character in the whole series. He respected people, he didn’t see himself above them. He didn’t see himself as a genius or anything. He worked hard because he had a low self esteem, he was always compared to Itachi and he always lost. He was humble enough to ask others’ help, like asking N*ruto how S*kura was able to climb the tree with chakra in the beginning, or asking Team Taka’s help to find Itachi, asking Kakashi to make him stronger and following Orochimaru for more strength. And during all these, he was thrown in his face parts of the tragic truth about Itachi and his clan and he always had to get back on his feet and fight more. His world crumbled so many times on him and yet not only he reacted but he always was able to help those around him. Not with big words like N*ruto but really, freeing Orochimaru’s prisoners, Taka, and earlier protecting his team from Gaara, protecting N*ruto from Haku, and later proitecting N*ruto from Kaguya and then protecting the whole world from her, protecting Itachi’s ideal, his sacrifice from those who threatened to make it useless. He was ready to become the world’s only enemy to keep them together, following what he thought Itachi had taught him indirectly.

Sasuke is neither possessive nor jealous. He never showed any sign of possessiveness or jealousy towards anyone. He protected Taka and N*ruto. He defended Itachi’s name, unlike too many like to think: when he threatens Danzo to stop talking about Itachi it’s not because he’s jealous but because he doesn’t want that bastard to talk shit about his perfect brother, especially cause that bastard was the reason of his ruin. He was defending his name from an enemy and it was pure and selfless, not possessive at all! Proof of this is when Hashirama praises him instead, Sasuke is happy. He likes people to speak about his brother in a good way! When they were children Itachi always dismissed Sasuke who pouted but never got really angry or jealous at Shisui for example. And at the end of the fight vs Kabuto he aknowledged Itachi’s resolve to leave even tho it broke his heart to lose him again, and he let Itachi go with the saddest face but the utmost respect.

Sasuke is not arrogant. He has a low self-esteem. He was raised in the shadow of his genius brother, he suffered for his father not noticing him, he later developed an inferiority complex towards N*ruto as well because of his quick progress, compared to his own that he perceived as slower and not enough (that’s why he joined Orochimaru). When he brags it’s not because he’s the bragging type (aka N*ruto, Kiba &co) but it’s because he’s either making fun of N*ruto, since they were rivals/friends (not to mention it’s a shounen trope) and, even more so, because he is proud of his achievements. He worked so hard always and when he created a jutsu or smth he says it. Because he has low self esteem but he’s not socially awkward or shy or whatever (see later paragraph). So he is proud of his own results. (which is also a very TE thing, for those who care about mbti stuff).

Sasuke doesn’t value his life much. This is a result of his low self-esteem, which leads to poor sense of self-preservation (to prove that he’s strong, like when he was a genin and he trained so hard,and later to pursue his goals, for which he’d give his body to Orochimaru and his life over and over). Also he is so determined to achieve his goals that he’d do anything for them. He was ready to die on many occasions in canon for this and even later, after the ending, he’s seeing himself as a tool. Also, he never really got over the sense of worthlessness first caused by his father and then by Itachi’s words the night of the massacre. Not in a real life trauma-like thing, but as a way to see himself. this means that all those stereotypical rocking back and forth, cutting, whatever behaviors are not like him, who always got back to his feet and lived, although not for himself but for his goals.

Sasuke is not bitchy or spoiled. If he was he would have a great self esteem, and he clearly showed to have a very low self esteem instead. He never made anything about him actually, as all his goals were about others, his family, his brother, and so on. He was the one who did better teamwork in team7 actually, and he protected his friends and comrades, not to mention he freed Orochimaru’s prisoners and fought for the village and its people. How is this spoiled or bitchy, and btw, bitchy ppl do get offended and he never paid attention to offenses towards him, only towards his brother.

Sasuke is neither the haughty élite type nor the shy/socially anxious/‘emo’ type. He is neither Neji nor H*nata. He is aloof, he is always lost in his own thoughts and he doesn’t care about socializing because he wants to become strong, because he cared more about his family and goals, because he cared more about their opinion than the opinion of classmates. He valued strength since the beginning, being raised the way he was raised, so he valued the praise of strong people and not of the others, unlike those who seek praise from everyone. On the other hand his being aloof doesn’t mean he can’t have normal interactions, and the fact that he doesn’t use honorifics doesn’t mean he has socialization problems. Only that he doesn’t pay attention to these things anymore. He was always pragmatic, and after the massacre he became pragmatic to an extreme level, cutting off all unnecessary things, manners included. It doesn’t mean, though, that he doesn’t respect some people (=those he deems strong. Including Team Taka). He just shows it through actions.

Sasuke is not se/xually aggressive/dominant/whatever. He is too busy with his own goals to have se/xual or romantic thoughts (unlike other characters both male and female, not just Karin but also S*kura, Ino, and ofc N*ruto). I wouldn’t define this being asexual tho, because their universe is not ours and I’m sick&tired of all the real world/Nar universe parallels. He’s passive in relationship and on many occasions he showed indifference to se/xual anything, not disgust. Just, it wasn’t his thought. Because he is on a different wavelength. So even when he told characters to not be so close to him or smth, he didn’t move away, he just told them, which kinda proves my point once more of how passive he is towards ppl and relationships, he just lets them be. On the other hand, aceSas is better than hornydominantSas that is so OOC it hurts, be it with Itachi, Nar, S*kura or whatever other girls/boys.

Most MAIN characters didn’t understand/didn’t try to understand him. The ones who understood him more are unexpectedly not his friends. Not counting Taka ofc.

Sasuke is passive. He is the yin and N*ruto is the yang. In case this isn’t clear. It’s canon. Kishi used a yin/yang parallel for him and N*ruto, so while N*ruto is yang/sun/warm/ positive/active/male principle in nature/masculine, Sasuke is yin/moon/cold/negative/passive/passive/female principle in nature/feminine. Passive doesn’t mean weak. It means receptive, adaptable, flexible, which Sasuke is, since he’s the one who adapted his life and goals to new events, truths and changes, unlike most others who just kept going their own way no matter what (see N*ruto or Itachi). Many see him as assertive because he faces every situation in a very determined manner, taking actions and deciding everything independently. But being an independent thinker has nothing to do with being assertive or passive. I say he’s passive because he actually always reacts to what life (or Itachi) throws at him, every time. His reactions are quick and strategic, so it’s easy to miss this, but still, again, Itachi or N*ruto actively engage the environment and life, and influence other people, not Sasuke. He’s also passive with people, in relatioships. He never seeks anyone unless it’s for practical reasons, he only reacts to them approaching him. And he reacts in a very calm way, quite mild compared to how determined and detached he is, considering that a lot of characters invade his personal space or more, in the whole series. When he chases after Itachi it’s because he’s his younger brother and it’s natural for them, and mostly because Itachi set up his life so that he would focus on him, still it’s Itachi who is assertive, and he reacts in return. He makes a deal with Orochimaru, to obtain strength and give him his body in return. When he forms Team Taka, before asking their help, he first gives them freedom and only then he asks them to join him, making it clear that he won’t force them if they’ll refuse. He gives them something before asking something in return. This is not just a passive thing but something more because he is not selfish, like I said before.

Sasuke is an independent thinker. Unlike other smart thinkers like Itachi or Madara, to whom the story associated him, Sasuke was kept in the dark about many things, so he developed his own view of the world later, but when he did it was original and unique, just like his fighting style and strategy.

Sasuke is private about his thoughts and feelings but he’s also honest about them. Itachi is mysterious and not honest about his feelings, not him. He is aloof, it’s different. Just because he doesn’t trust many people and he’s lost in his own thoughts it doesn’t mean he is a shoujo mysterious character lol.

Sasuke is goal oriented. He does whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He would have given his body as a vessel for Orochimaru, not caring about what would happen to him, as long as he could have his revenge. Sasuke wanted to die after he killed Itachi, but then when he woke up and was told the truth he had another purpose, and so he lived on.

Sasuke admires and respects strength but he’s not power thirsty. He wanted to become strong because he wanted to be worthy of Itachi and his father, than because he had to avenge his clan, then he had to avenge Itachi. It’s because he had low self-esteem and was selfless that he sought power. He wanted to be beside his father and brother, not to surpass them, actually. It’s Itachi who talked about surpassing.

Sasuke is very smart and logical, but he is easily manipulated with the right arguments. Like using Itachi, or appealing to his low self esteem, his feeling of worthlessness, his emotions. Because people who are logical are actually not emotionless. In fact they have a hard time controlling their emotions when they feel strongly, and this can be seen clearly every time Sasuke loses control. He becomes more impulsive than N*ruto who instead gets calmer, because he’s more in touch with his emotions (lol ofc he is, everything is always about his own emotions and feelings). Sasuke puts his feelings and emotions aside to reach his goals, he acts logically and pragmatically, he observes, makes plans, finds the better ways to do things, no matter how hard or dangerous for him they are. He has logical arguments even though they appear ‘crazy’ to other characters, and it’s sad to see how in the end he was belittled by N*ruto, as if his arguments were meaningless, they were not addressed at all, just deemed wrong, not with counterarguments but with illogical emotion based words that just made him feel unstable, as it happens when you have logical arguments and they tell you ‘you’re just depressed, you don’t get things right’.

In the end, he was tamed into submission. He was defeated, put in jail, isolated, guilt tripped and berated because of his ideals and goals, denied the justice he rightfully demanded.

All these can be observed directly. Others, more subtle things about him I wrote here, towards the end of this long post.

Don’t Keep Me Waiting Peter's 90% sure Wade likes him. Or at least he was sure. When you almost jerk off in front of the friend you're definitely not pathetically pining for and they never mention it again, it makes you doubt yourself. Peter knows he should probably just ask what the fuck is going on, but where's the angsty fun in that?

Sometimes When We Touch Peter answers a Craigslist ad for someone who is willing to pay for some unspecified physical contact/sex because he's just that broke. He's surprised to find out Wade Wilson is the one who posted the ad, but thinks he can still manage just fine even when the man explains he'd like him to wear a special costume for the occasion. Dorne was a beautiful place, much more beautiful than the bleak gray landscape you had been raised in the north. While you no doubt missed the familiarity of your northern home and your family, you found yourself falling more and more in love with Dorne each day you were there. You had been betrothed to Prince Oberyn, a match that had been upsetting to both of you in the beginning, but quickly fell into place anyways. You and Oberyn had fallen in love with each other over the months you had been in Dorne, and you both soon found yourselves truly happy with the match, it was no longer just an act - you truly loved one another. Something that had surprised you since you had been told your whole life that you would most likely end up in a loveless union with some older lord.

These are the thoughts that run through your head as you layout on the cooling sands of the beach, eyes gazing up at the stars painting the night sky. You had always loved stargazing, even in your old home, but here the skies were almost always clear - making it even easier to do the thing you loved most.

“How did I know I would find you out here?” a familiar accented voice filled your ears.

You turned your head slightly towards the sound, smiling when you saw that it was none other than Oberyn, giving you his own award-winning smile as he walked over to you and sat down in the sand.

You sat up, moving closer so you were right up next to him, letting out a small sigh when he wrapped his arm around you and brought his lips to your own.

You pulled away from him after a moment and smiled up at him, “It’s because you know me too well my Prince,” you say, a teasing tone to your words.

The man chuckles, and nods, before turning his gaze to the stars, pulling you tighter to him, “I think I know you better than I know myself, my love.”

You blush at his words, and give him a questioning look as he moves to lie on his back tugging you down with him, “What are you doing?” you ask, but move to lie down with him, your head resting on his arm as you both look to the sky.

“I’m am joining you to gaze at the stars,” he says, stating the obvious, “constellations were one of the many things I studied at the citadel.”

You look over at him, “Really?”

He turns his head to look at you, a small smile adorning his features as he leans over to press a gentle kiss against your forehead, “Yes. I have always found the stars very interesting. They move together to form constellations, which tell stories of great magnitude,” he explains, his free hand sweeping across the sky in a grand motion as he continues to explain his love for the stars.

Once he is done there is a small moment of silence before you look up at him sheepishly, “could you...could you teach me?” you ask quietly, “The constellations? I never learned any of them before.”

“Of course my love, I would do anything for you,” he whispers, “If I could, I would reach up and pluck every star from the night sky to give to you. I would even give you the moon if it meant I could make you happy,” he continues, making a grabbing motion with his hand as if to emphasize the point.

You move from your current position onto your side, cupping his face with the hand not supporting you and capture his eyes with your own, “You make me happy Oberyn, I don’t need the stars in the sky, or the moon, or all the riches in the world,” you begin, “As long as I have you, I will be happy until the day death steals us from one another.”

The minute the words leave your lips, Oberyn is sitting up and bringing his lips to yours, cradling your face in his hands gently. You can’t help the smile that crosses your face when he pulls away and lies back down, pulling you to lay next to him, your head on his chest as he starts to point out the constellations to you. And as you listen to his voice along with the waves crashing on the shore...you feel at home.

So I’ve never done one of these fic recommendations lists before but I really want to share some of the amazing work that I’ve read this past month! I’ve definitely read a whole ton more but I was dumb and didn’t think to like draft this list and then just keep adding to it... so I’m just attempting to go through my tags LOL please be patient with my dumbass. 

NOTE: Since I only started doing this recently, a lot of my recommendations are gonna come from a lot of my mutuals but I’m always open to hearing more about other fics!!! If you’ve got an incredible fic that you are super proud of or if you think that I should read something you’ve read, PLEASE SEND IT TO ME! If you love medieval/fairy tale type things, you will love this fic. And if you don’t, you’re gonna love it anyways because @anika-ann​ writes SO. FUCKING. WELL. 100% fluff and love.

2. Abs Aren’t Always the Answer by @its-not-captain-america​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader “Steve asks Y/N what girls are interested in, trying to impress her. Several shirtless pics later it’s not working.” Y’all want hilarious shit??? What about Steve Rogers always trying to take his fucking shirt off because he has the DNA (and the body) of a stripper? JK that’s not the actual reason but this fic is so funny, I died reading the first 700 times (and the 701st time too... and every time after that). 100% hilarious.

3. Challenge Accepted...? by @anika-ann​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader ”Steve’s never been good at quick decision-making when it came to his own safety. After one particularly horrible experience, you find a way to remind him every day to think twice the next time he’s faced with a tough choice. He is not amused.” Steven Grant Rogers you stupid dumb hoe lol. That’s all I’mma say about this fic because it speaks for itself when you read it haha. Banter is iconic in this fic. 100% hilarious.

4. A Matter of Trust by @anika-ann​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader “You and Steve get to go to a mission together after a while; free drinks, partying, dressing-up nicely, stealing blueprints, the usual. You might even enjoy this as a couple.“ This time it’s Y/N that’s kindof a stupid dumb hoe but like that’s okay because when Y/N is a stupid dumb hoe, it’s not as stupid or dumb as when Steve does it. There’s a bit of a carry on between Challenge Accepted...? and this fic! So I would suggest reading that one first and then this :) 100% hilarious.

5. For a Smile by @anika-ann​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader “You see him run past every morning. So you smile, because he looks like a nice person. How could he not be when he smiles back and the world stops for a while to pay respect to such beauty?” So you know how Disney movies totally screwed over some of our perspectives of how guys were gonna come and sweep us off our feet? Yeah. This fic did it too. I’m still waiting for my fairytale fucking moment like this fic but if it never happens, I’ll settle for just reading this over and over again LOL. 100% F L U F F and LOVE.

6. Grease and Pearls by @anika-ann​​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader “All you know is uptown; fancy clothes, expensive cars, jewellery outshining one’s personality and exhausting dinners with family acquaintances and business partners. Your life is all planned out; one day, you’ll marry Howard Stark’s son and you’ll be the golden couple adored by press.” This 3-part series slayed me. Like honestly, I’ve never been so torn apart before. Y’all lucky that if you read it, you get to read all 3 parts right away whereas I had to sit and wait for my heart to be torn apart and then stomped on. (Jk anika i love you you know that). Super amazing thing I love about this fic: it’s got links to the dresses that Y/N wears (super cute btw) AND it’s got two different endings so you can decide!!! 100% ANGST and 100% FLUFF? At the same time??? Because of the two endings?!?!?!? NOTE: part 2 got some steamy smut in there so 18+ readers only. I had to take a cold shower after reading it like goddamn.

7. Be Alright by @kayteewritessteve​ ​| Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader “Steve goes through a bad breakup, but a sweet voice and a friendly smile helps him realize he can begin again, and that he definitely should.” God this fic. I can’t with this fic. It’s based on the Dean Lewis song Be Alright, which is already one of my favourites, but this fic, ugh, Kaytee knows how to hurt you that’s for sure. It’s so pure and so wonderful. 100% SAD but like it gets better promise.

8. Cold Feet by @anika-ann​ | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader

“After two months of dating, you’ve come to a conclusion as exciting as well as a bit irritating: Steve Rogers is a perfect man. He simply has no flaw.Or does he?” Mother. Fucking. Adorable. Anyways, this is part 1 so please don’t be like me and read the first part LOL. ANYWAYS, this was so fucking wholesome. This is definitely one that I need to read again and fully read in order (she’s got part 3 on her AO3, I believe) but ugh. I love the idea of Steve dating in this century, comparing things to how things were done in the old days ufglasodfhsd. I love it. I believe they’re poems written throughout the whole Steve and Bucky timeline. She’s used the Winter Soldier’s words and turned them into a gorgeous set of poems. 100% My favourite thing in the whole fucking world.

Alright so I know a lot of you guys know @kayteewritessteve​ but if you don’t, she’s this super amazing writer with INCREDIBLE series. (CLICK HERE TO SEE HER FULL MASTERLIST). But one of my most favourite series by her, and one of my favourite series of all time, is: If Only You Knew “You arrive home one day to find a wedding invite for two of your best friends from high school. You knew this day was going to come eventually, but even with that said, you weren’t prepared to return home. At least not after 7 years of avoiding Buckhannon, West Virginia. Or rather, avoiding him; your ex-best friend and the secret love of your life. But maybe it was finally time to face your past, to face him and everything else that happened on that horrible night.”  This 18 (plus an Epilogue) part series will literally have you screaming at your screen being like WHY YALL CANT JUST TELL EACH OTHER HOW YALL FEEL?!?!?!?! 75% angst (because Kaytee likes to hurt us) and 25% fluff BUT the fluff is SOOOOO worth it so it’s like 100% angst and 200% fluff (i was never a mathlete). NOW since, we’re on the topic of Kaytee’s writing, I’d also like to mention: Love and War  “In a harsh medieval world, you set out on a perilous quest that will lead you onto a forbidden land. A land ruled and controlled by a ruthless Warlord King, one who does not look favourably upon trespassers of any kind, and punishes all with an iron fist. A/N: This anon probably hates me💔 I’m really sorry, I have some requests that wanted to post much sooner but I was afraid of doing them when I still had the writer’s block, because I would do something really bad, and you don’t deserve that... I did it now, though! Nothing special but I really hope y’all like it😘

Btw, I'm so sorry for being so annoying with the norse mythology... I’m reading a lot about it lately and I'm just in love with that culture💞

"The dead will rise, and Fenrir, the wolf, will release himself from the chains, and will run until he stands before the sun and the moon, and will eat both of them mercilessly... Yggdrasil will tremble, and the nine worlds will convulse" his voice was soft, low and intense in your ear, his breathing hit your neck, and it made your tremble and bit your lip "Jormungandr will come from the bottom of the sea, and will fight Thor, who will kill the serpent but also die right after, Odin will perish between Fenrir's jaws, and Tyr will also be eaten, but by Garmr, the dog of Hel, and will be able to stab the beast's heart from the inside" 

You jumped when suddenly he bit your neck, chuckling at your reaction. Then he kissed your cheek and leaned his head on yours again. 

"Your father told you these stories when you were a child?" You asked softly, a smile dancing on your lips. 

Ivar hummed, nodding. 

"Yes; my father, my mother, Floki... I always asked them to tell me how Ragnarok will be"

You turned around to look at his pendant, the one that hang from a lace around his neck with the shape of Mjölnir, Thor's hammer.

"Well, that explains a lot" you smirked, and Ivar rolled his eyes, though his lips curved upwards "But if we ever have children, I'd prefer you wait until they're old enough before telling them someday the dead will rise and all of that, I don't want them being psychos like their father"

Ivar raised an eyebrow and looked at you, amused, as you kissed his lips softly and turned around again, resting between his arms. 

It was nice, to relax on Ivar's arms, sitting on a fallen tree trunk with a small fire burning next to you, wrapped on a comfy blanket Ivar had packed for you -unlike him, you weren't viking and you actually felt the cold-, with no other sound than the soft breeze, some crickets and the crackle of the bonfire.

And Hvitserk snoring, inside one of the tents. 

The Lothbrok Anual Camping Weekend, as Ubbe called it, was one of the few non-religious traditions the Lothbroks actually followed. It had started when Ivar was little, when Ragnar had some free days and decided to take his sons for a weekend away, to spend some time with them. Ivar had confessed to you it used to be his favorite time of the year, as he loved to spend time with his father, and sometimes Floki joined them. They always drove away from the city, and stopped somewhere near the sea, far enough from the closest town. Ivar told you they would eat, drink and talk for hours, telling stories about the Gods, or sometimes remembering embarrassing things from when they were children. 

Ivar stopped liking the camping trip when Björn, Ubbe and Sigurd started bringing their respective girlfriends. Hvitserk brought a different girl each year, and it wasn't fun anymore when they were all making out. 

But this year he invited you. 

After some months dating, and after being completely sure his family wouldn't embarrass him too much in your presence -though you knew Hvitserk, with whom he lived, and that was probably the worst part-, he decided to introduce you to them. And then he invited you. 

He expected you to say no, maybe frown and press your lips together, thinking he was too much of a weirdo for inviting you to a camping trip with his father and brothers to tell stories about nordic mythology. 

But once again, you surprised him with an excited smile and a tight hug. 

"Should we go to sleep now?" He asked you softly, noticing your eyelids were heavier and you had relaxed even more against his body.  His fingertips had been caressing your arm, making you sleepy. 

You were the last ones sitting next to the fire. Ubbe, Margrethe and Hvitserk had gone to their tent just after Björn and Torvi left for theirs. Sigurd had stayed, playing guitar and dedicating some songs to his girlfriend, Blaeja, as Ragnar sat with Ivar and you, telling you stories about the trickster God, Loki.

Eventually, all of them went to sleep, but Ivar and you stayed a bit. You enjoyed looking at the stars as he told you his favorite; Ragnarok. He was excited while talking, eager to share his culture with you, and that warmed your heart. 

"I don't want to move" you muttered "It will be cold if we move"

Ivar chuckled. 

"It's not even cold, Y/N"

"Yes it is, it's freezing, I'm not a viking like you"

"You're more viking than you think" he smiled, kissing your temple "But we'll freeze if we stay here the whole night"

You whined in protest as his arms abandoned you. The cold breeze made you shiver. 

"Come on, let's go to the tent" Ivar chuckled as you stood up, taking his crutches so he could stand up. 

After pouring some water on the bonfire to extinguish it, you both crawled into the tent. Ivar left the crutches aside and grunted softly as he took off his braces. You shivered and hissed in cold as you changed into your comfy pajamas. You envied Torvi and Margrethe, who wore cute little pajamas that were too sexy to be warm, but they didn't seem to feel the cold either.

When Ivar finished taking off the braces and changing into his sleeping clothes (some sweatpants and a basic t-shirt) and turned around, you were already under the blankets, with your hair in a messy bun and shivering. 

He chuckled as he crawled to you, rolling his eyes when you whimpered in protest as he got under the blankets. Immediately, your arms went around his waist and your head leaned on his shoulder, sighing when you felt his warmth. 

"It's nice" you spoke after a few moments, making Ivar open his eyes to look at you "All of this. I was worried your family wouldn't like me, or something like that... Or that I would ruin the mood being the stranger"

Ivar scoffed. He was nearly sure his family liked you more than they liked him. 

"I'm glad you're enjoying it" he whispered "But please, stop saying nonsense, Hvitserk already adored you, and even Sigurd likes you" he rolled his eyes "And my dad"

You smiled. You already got along very well with Aslaug, and to know that Ragnar hadn't disliked you, knowing how much Ivar loved them, made you happy. 

"Thank you for inviting me" you moved your head to kiss his cheek "Though I'd recommend a warmer place to go camping next time" 

Ivar couldn't help but laugh softly.

"Come on, get some sleep" he whispered, sighing in pleasure when you pressed your body against his and closing his eyes.

You woke up when the sun was still raising. The sudden bright and the warmth woke you up, wrapped on Ivar's arms and with your face hidden on his neck. You tried not to move too much to avoid waking him up, but instead you relaxed with your eyes opened, looking at Ivar's face, with your hands absentmindedly playing with the Mjölnir necklace that rested on his chest. You didn't know how you got so lucky to call that man your boyfriend, but it seemed unreal. When the sunlight started bothering him, he grunted and moved in his sleep, his hands now cupping your ass and pressing your body against his. 

Smirking softly, you brought your lips to his jaw, kissing his skin and traveling down to kiss his neck, easily finding his sweet spot. 

Ivar moaned, and woke up immediately. His gorgeous blue eyes opened slightly. 

"Good morning" you whispered, your lips against his skin.

"Yeah, good morning indeed" he moaned again.

Chuckling, you raised your head to kiss his lips. His hands gripped your ass even more and you smiled into the kiss, as Ivar pulled you on top of him. You cupped his face with your hands and deepened the kiss, while his surprisingly warm hands traveled under your shirt, caressing your waist and reaching your breasts. Moaning against his lips, you moved your hips against his. 

"You'll be the death of me, woman" Ivar was breathless as you broke the kiss and your lips travelled down his neck again. He was already hard, and just when your hands roamed down his body to reach the hem of his sweatpants, the entrance to the tent opened, and Ragnar's voice startled you.

"Dad!" Ivar scoffed, sitting up with you still on his lap. 

His head peeked out from the entrance; he had a playful smile on his lips.

"Sorry" he cleared his throat, though his smirk didn't show any regret. You blushed, hiding your face into Ivar's shoulder, embarrassed "Just wanted to tell you that breakfast is ready... And Hvitserk is awake, so I would hurry up... Now, I'm leaving" he chuckled "Enjoy"

"I can't believe him" Ivar sighed, rolling his eyes as his father closed the tent again "Gods, I'm sorry" 

"Don't worry" you chuckled, still blushing and thinking about how you were going to look at Ragnar in the eye from now on "Are you hungry?"

"Yes" Ivar shrugged, tilting his head with an innocent smile "But not for food, so... Take off your clothes, love"

This is one of my favorites from self titled (although I will always prefer the acoustic version) I still remember when they changed the lyrics to “white snake on the radio” during my ROWYSO show. My favorite lyric is “so we’re taking the long way home cause I don’t wanna be wasting my time alone”

2. Bloody Mary - Lady Gaga: I remember the first time I heard this being 11 years old and shocked LMAO if I’m being real honest I love the beat (AND THE BASS) of this song. ALSO the chorus “I WONT CRY FOR YOU” is so GOOD

3. Not Warriors - Waterparks: y’all are in for a TREAT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE WATERPARKS SONGS. I cannot just listen to this song just once. 4. Best Song Ever - One Direction: I still refuse to believe this song is about sex LMAO this is such a fun song to dance to though I love it. My favorite part is Niall’s solo “I said can I take you home with me, she said never in your wildest dreams”

5. Strong - One Direction: OH! FUCK! MY FAVORITE ONE DIRECTION SONG DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH THE CHORUS “IM SORRY IF I SAY I NEED YOU” I CANT I CANT. THIS SONG RIGHT HERE!!!! fun fact: the first time I actually heard this song was when I watched a video of someone on YouTube burning her littlest pet shops because a trade went wrong and she got scammed so she took her anger out on that. I literally forgot about this song until one day I heard it in my junior year literature class and had major deja vu. COMMENTARY: Pretty clear-cut here; I couldn’t resist the wolf theme for Solas, and I really like how the song can go back and forth between loving him savagely and “hunting” him, which, as we know with how Trespasser pans out, can be taken pretty literally. And really, what two lines in a song could be more perfect than the “a man who’s pure of heart...” section??

“The Trouble with Wanting” by Joy Williams

COMMENTARY: The second song pertaining to the SolasxInquisitor relationship; the end is the kicker here. Pretty self-explanatory, with bits that can be taken both figuratively and literally (”miles and miles away,” “and if you never come back...”). This song is just plain gorgeous, btw, and Joy Willilams has a voice made of angel tears.

COMMENTARY: So this is the first of the two songs relating to Lydia as more of an Inquisitor and/or teammate/party member. Like many other Inquisitors, I’m sure, there’s a bit of second-guessing herself, but I really like how it starts that way and then grows into “nah get that shit out of here, I can fucking do this because I’m a fucking independent lady that can survive and harness the incredible power of this revolutionary magic and I’m not even a fucking MAGE. “I am the one I’ve been waiting for” is a really powerful line. A runner-up for this list was another Halestorm song called “Here’s To Us,” where they basically just talk about what a doozy of a day they’ve had which also seemed very relevant. For bonus lyrics, here’s a few from that song I was going to use: “Here’s to us / Here’s to love / All the times that we fucked up / Here’s to you / Raise the glass / ‘Cause the last few days have kicked my ass.” What’s more true than that for the fucking Inquisitor 😂 it’s basically an already scripted cutscene with Varric! 😂

“Brother in Arms” by Young Guns

COMMENTARY: Okay I LOVE THIS SONG, it applies to so many fandoms and things (if you’re a Supernatural fan, the album this song comes from, called Bones, is basically like...the show in an album. You’re welcome). And I had to “bold to emphasize” the entire excerpt because like...come on. This is the perfect song for the entire party dynamic. “What’s a little bit of blood loss between friends” is Dragon Age as a series in a nutshell isn’t it? 😂 But seriously, I love the camaraderie that still acknowledges that sometimes they can mess up and screw each other over, but at the end of the day, they’ve still got each other’s backs.

a messy explanation of things and unnecessary information about life lately

soooo... right. i’m sorry i haven’t really been around aside from popping in here and there, and that i’ve been taking longer than usual to reply to things / not replying to things at all. it’s NOT that i’m upset with anyone or trying to ignore / avoid anyone, and it’s not that i don’t care / don’t love talking to you (whomstever you may be) i love chatting with y’all and wish i could get myself to reply to things quicker but i do not control the me lmfao honestly my sleep has never had a schedule but in recent weeks it’s kinda been operating like there’s a lil gremlin in my head who spins a wheel and picks my sleeping times at random - and it’s either like.. two hours or most of a day. there hasn’t been a lot of in between so that’s a thing!!

also in a fun added mix of maybe sleep?, missing meds, being stuck in the house more often than not, and the FUCKING EVERYTHING happening in the world right now my mental health is... probably run by the same goblin that runs my sleep schedule lmao consistency whomst?? since the lockdown started the depression has of course been around more but actually, worse than that, is how my anxiety - and by extension: my ocd - have really amped up and i need y’all to know that the struggle is painfully real (and another thing that affects shit like my replies and writing. reading as well. fics have been kinda stressful and that should be illegal. who authorized this?) i don’t hate talking about it but i don’t really like it either?? especially like.. in depth. but i will say there has been crying, screaming, pain!, and i’ve acquired a few physical injuries.

ON A PERSONAL LEVEL - THE FULL LEVEL - THINGS.... are pretty great actually! i mean aside from the state of my fucking house e__e but Josh has been working from home for two (2) months now and it’s been really nice - people complaining about their partners being home?? can’t relate. yknow what?? i just might love that tall bastard even more from all this.fuck all y’all miserable fucks

we’ve been going out for drives and we’ve gone fishing and the only place i’ve gone too that’s re-opened is goodwill. because i require.. the shop. they do have a masks required rule! (at least at the one here) and, alongside that, the places we’ve gone that never closed (like grocery stores and the gas station and the hardware store) have social distancing rules and stuff in place which i love. can we keep social distancing after this is all over?? more things here in wisconsin are opening up and we might go to some. idk though. we also might not. either way its still a weird kind of exciting to see things opening back up?? even though i do think we’re not totally in the clear because most of our gov. sucks (our mayor tried to extend our stay-at-home order - keyword there is TRIED. we are the land of cheese, cows, and no fucking braincells for anyone) 

having pets is obviously not a new thing for me but it’s still a thing. so it takes time and effort and energy and patience and love and a certain disregard for your own safety (claws. they really be as sharp as you think) so... it can be stressful, especially cuz we’ve had to keep them inside more as it gets hot out and something keeps breaking our porch screens (our cats are allowed onto our screened in porch or they can go out in a harness but we will never let them run free outside. fuck that noise)  my bbies are all so cute and their personalities and idiosyncrasies are just... *chefs kiss* i love em and they’re definitely a part of what has made quarantine better

i’ve seen my mom a few times, like for my birthday and when she needed help moving Isaiah from one dorm to another and such, but that’s primarily been an option because she has become anti-mask and anti-stay-at-home-order. initially she wasn’t - she gave Isaiah and i fun lil masks since at that time trying to buy them would be impossible and she thought nothing of staying home - but i guess either as its dragged on or as she’s consumed her middle-right wing news that changed s o. she does take social distancing in public very seriously though, so at least there’s that. our favorite coffee shop, where we - pre-lockdown - always went one (1) or two (2) times a week to do art for hours re-opens on monday and that’s one of the few things i’ve truly missed.

josh’s camping trip for this weekend with his friends had to be cancelled because the parks weren’t going to open in time. so today they’re going somewhere to do at least some of the things they would have done if they had gone camping. bikes, bonfires, and cigars. i’m kinda jealous negl but he was really excited about it so mostly i’m happy

trying to figure out how human services was running things during lockdown was rough but thankfully it didn’t take much to get it sorted. mostly because my mom made the phone call i was supposed to lol (the phone anxiety is on its own level) so wednesday afternoon my mom sat with me while i had the appointment with my psychiatrist over speakerphone (which was.. an experience)

OH YEAH! Probably absolutely my favorite thing that’s happened is: WE’RE STARTING THE SEARCH FOR A NEW HOUSE!!!! it doesn’t mean we’re gonna be moving soon or anything, we don’t want to make the same mistake twice (buying the first house you tour that you love) because while it is a great house ultimately it is way too small for us. i mean there’s me and josh, all six cats, and ALL OUR SHIT. listen: i have an entire room dedicated to my various hobbies. and a walk in closet that isn’t big enough. and we both have collections we love and want to display (right now upstairs its hello kitty and downstairs its astronomy and the titanic. and then there’s pop figures, mtg, collectibles, our bottle collection and various knickknacks, etc.) plus all our books! then furniture and cat furniture (i.e towers) and all their shit because they are spoiled babies. and god forbid we ever have a human kid?? yeah. it’s just not big enough. 

so we’re gonna take more time with this choice but what we do know is:: we wanna live out in the country (i’m paranoid and don’t like to be looked at and he loves the outdoors, lived on a farm for awhile. i also enjoy the outdoors but mostly since we moved into this house i’ve struggled with doing anything outside... while we only have one neighbor on our road. but there’s one across the road and one at the other side of our backyard and that’s just too much lol) 

lets see.. um.... my birthday was may 2nd and that was pretty nice, for a pandemic birthday. there’s been a lot of stuff happening involving josh’s family but that’s not something i really wanna get into on here, tho i will say things have been better in recent weeks and it’s been... really nice. josh and i went to his mom’s house the other night and got drunk with her for fun and i actually had a really good time?? and didn’t complain about going?? that’s kinda unheard of.

i don’t have a job anymore - haven’t since early march-ish - and it kinda sucks but also the universe really did me a solid because my choices were either allow myself to work until i have a mental break again or quit. and i was leaning towards quitting (things had been going down hill with the owner and other employees and just the business as a whole for awhile and there’s a limit to the amount of bullshit i can take thanks) but now it doesn’t seem i have to. why do i think i’m jobless? i was barely working anyway, bc of the snow business was slow, and in march i got really sick and stayed home for a week. the day i was supposed to go back i was still sick, and covid19 was starting to become more of a serious situation everywhere, so josh called in for me and explained that between still being sick and my anxiety over covid (asthma + a not so great immune system) i wasn’t going in that day. i never heard from them again. so. 

but it’s all good - there are some options but i’m not looking into them seriously until it’s safe to.
