I stumbled upon your ffrecs - thank you. I've read some MadaSasu and TobiSasu and it was refreshing to read something where writers put emphasis on character-accurate depictions. Mainly Sasuke is often written very off-character in fics. I want to ask you two questions: 1. If you were to change one thing in Naruto what would it be? 2. If you would like to rewrite Naruto one day - from what chapter would you proceed onwards?
Hello and thank you. I 'm repeating myself these days cause I don't have anything new in mind I guess, but I became very picky with fanfics, I now don't read anything new cause I'm not motivated and this happened because of all the healthy, unproblematic and woke crap from authors who instead of trying to write in character, they take all the "danger" from them, turning them in some off character idiots from some netflix teen drama. Anyway, I mostly try to understand why narration and plot go towards a certain direction, so mostly I follow the canon plot and fill in the holes. Like, without the Kaguya plot twist, that I found extremely boring, Obito and Madara wouldn't have been redeemed, and I admit that the concept of Madara who had manipulated to much, being manipulated in turn, was interesting. Without Uchiha massacre the Itachi and Sasuke relationship, Sasuke's motivations would be less strong and he might not join Orochimaru, thus he would not meet Team Taka. Without Itachi dying at the end of their fight he wouldn't know the truth from Tobi that way so he wouldn't act like he did later. Fix-it fics are cool and all, but without injustice and suffering characters wouldn't be so interesting.
This said, what I would change is the canon end pairings and the existence of the offspring, cause NH and SS are off character and interesting only for superficial ppl who self insert as those female characters. Imo a sequel would have been better with totally unrelated characters from the academy or smth, but ofc the authors should have invented new characters and powers while creating children of already loved characters with the same power as their parents was easier. This ruined everything for me anyway.
(pls don't send asks related to the ending and canon pairings as I wrote everything abt them already!)
Tbh before the ending happened I wrote In Power We Entrust...because I knew Sasuke wouldn't be given justice, and by justice I mean public recognition of the massacre as a decision from Danzo and the elders, clearing Itachi of all accusations and pardoning of Sasuke's consequent actions, so I wrote my post ending, where Sasuke lives in Konoha and Tsunade gave him justice but outside the village he's not trusted. Then I wrote What He Wanted, In The Dark and Of Feathers And Fangs to give myself explanation of the ending for Sasuke as the result of brainwashing, and I explored possibilities from that start, in a dark way because I can't not see it dark. So I understand my vision is extremely subjective, especially when darkfics are even less tolerated by preachy fans lol.
But I wrote more about my "ideal" ending here, here, here and here. Also kinda here, here and here.
My headcanons tag.

I can imagine Sasuke trying to stay uninvolved because how stupid. Even when someone throws something at tries to punch him and he effortlessly dodges it. Or when someone else charges at him and he just moves to the side. BUT when someone tries to punch him he just grabs their first and throws them against the biggest group of fighting idiots. Where Suigetsu is, ofc
Taka getting into a pointless bar fight Should have happened during shippuden

Hypothetically what if karin would become the jinchuuriki (or the one of the 10 tailes, if we just act like the ending was a genjutsu) would that change the dynamics of the story? Her relationship to her team etc?
It's such an impossible outcome since kishi gave less and less importance to Team Taka members that it was challenging to imagine it.
If Karin became a jinchuuriki before or while Sasuke joined the battlefield she would have been one more asset against Madara, Obito, the Zetsus, Kabuto and all the Edo Tensei revived shinobi, and since she's loyal to Sasuke she would have protected him while he was fighting, kind of like Juugo did, so once reunited with Sasuke he would have kept her close, to fight together.
She could have been also useful while Sasuke fought Naruto in the final fight, kind of like she had been observing his fight with Danzo, and even more, having jinchuuriki powers.
So her power could have changed the balance of everything Sasuke did, adding to his own powers hers, making him much more powerful and dangerous, in Konoha's pespective.
Her relationship with her team would be more or less the same cause she has a bossy (in a good sense) personality anyway and because in Team Taka everyone had equal rights to speak out and do things, and everyone respected each other regardless of their strengths and weaknesses anyway.

Hii I'm anon from my before task. How about this version. The dream begins in Chapter 677. Sasuke protects himself (Naruto and the other two) with his Susanoo because he doesn't let the moonlight in. Everyone else is already trapped in the Genjutsu. Then Madara is sacrificed by Zetsu and supposedly he is behind everything.
What if all this was Madara's plan from the beginning. His supposed sacrifice by Zetsu causes the Main Cast to turn their attention away from Madara. They fight on in their consciousness but in reality they too are already trapped in the illusion. Everything continues as in the manga because the 4 think they are not trapped in an illusion. They don't dissolve the illusion either, they just think they did. So the Boruto arc begins, which makes even less sense.
In Chapter 681 Naruto says "Of all things… you people of all things… are not the history of ninjas!!!". I'll take Naruto's word for it. The whole world of ninjas was created by Kaguya? That makes no sense at all.
What I'm thinking/suspecting now (just my thoughts): The illusion lasts until Gaiden, then some character dissolves it (I want to keep this very vague, otherwise I'd have to write down my entire idea). Madara is very weakened by this, will soon disintegrate but wants to come back and complete his mission. But he has to prepare himself and store his Juubi somewhere safe. Who better than a human who becomes a vessel for it. Naruto still has Kurama, so that won't work. Madara realizes that someone else still has large reserves of chakra and wants to seal it in Karin.
Since Sasuke is (in my eyes) the best, smartest and strongest of them all, he wakes up first. He now also realizes that it was all a genjutsu and thinks about everything and realizes that the Juubi must be sealed into someone with large chakra reserves. He thinks of Naruto but then he realizes Naruto already has one. And after much thought, Karin comes into his mind. He gets up and goes to find her, seeing Madara in the process. A sphere has formed, he wants to go to her and somehow he finds himself in Karin's past (which he realizes in the process).
So, how would change the story if Karin becomes in this particular time a bijou, how would it change her relationship to taka/sasuke, especially sasuke knowing now about her brutal past and the story in general
Hello! I understand. So while everyone is living a genjutsu that the war is over and years go on until Gaiden times so until they are adults, Madara seals Juubi in Karin, Sasuke wakes up because he's smarter than the others and sees Madara doing that to Karin but can't stop him, in fact he sees her past even.
I think he'd act like he did with Juugo, knowing he is dangerous and unpredictable but wanting him close not only for his power to use for his advantage but to help him. He'd want to be Karin's 'cage', like he said to Juugo, and it's not a cage meaning to imprison her (or Juugo) in fact it's more a shield between dangerous uncontrollable power and others, as Sasuke would, trying to calm/stop her, shield others from her eventual danger, taking the brunt of it if it gets bad.
She'd accept his care like Juugo did because she doesn't want to be alone, she wants to be in a group and she loves him and Team Taka. And ofc she'd learn to control her power, or she'd try to.

Hello thank you so much for your answer. I wonder how it would be like if the ending is a genjutsu and they lay down in the war field. Then there is Madara who has no time left and wants to seal the juubi (10 tails) aways and senses uzumaki chakra, which is karins, and then seals it into her. While doing that sasuke sees that, then somehow gets into karins memories and sees her past, (how much similar they were) etc, so she becomes now the juubi. how would that change the story from now on? Since now Karin would be much more important to the story.
Uhm it's interesting but I'm sure you have this clearer than me so you might tell me how you see it?
I can only imagine Sasuke would keep her as the closest ally for her power, that combined with his own, would make them invincible, and would keep her close as a person, a team mate, a precious friend, as he does care about his closest people very much. I don't think he'd want to sacrifice her or smth so he'd use their superiority in battle to obtain his goal, and I'd like it to not be living isolated forever to keep the shinobi world in peace, but, once made sure they achieved peace and justice, to move on with his life, together with Team Taka.
Without psychological and emotional manipulation from Nar*to and/or Kakashi and Konoha in general, because after all it was because of this that Sasuke was defeated.

I know this might sound like a super random ass thought, but do you think Orochimaru told Sasuke to smile more for various reasons? (Saw an art of it and it got me wondering)
Like, maybe he didn't like Sasuke's "moodiness" and since it annoyed *him* (Orochimaru) a bit, he wanted Sasuke to be less "moody"
Or maybe he wanted Sasuke to be more like him and, let's be real, Orochimaru smiles a *lot*. Maybe both reasons?
It's a fluffy headcanon...not exactly my thing.
In the years Sasuke spent with him he had different moods and they didn't just talk in a hostile way, but he went to Orochimaru to become stronger, so he trained all the time, he learned forbidden jutsu which must have been exhausting and needing a lot more chakra and energy, he took whatever drugs exist in their world for it (it's said canonically)...maybe Orochimaru made a joke/sarcastic remark about that some times, but even though he smiles a lot it's not the smile of a positive person. He's a manipulator who uses charm, and his smile as well, but his smile is mostly sarcastic.

Not as much of bottoming to punish himself
I guess I was trying to ask if Sasuke hates that he is a bottom or has that in him/hates his own personality and thinks it makes him weak. So him being a bottom is a source of self loathing, disgust, that sorta thing.
And because of this, he would have a lot of self critical thoughts and maybe regrets it later any time he bottoms. Like, if he could cut that part of his personality out of him, he would, even if it was a horrible and ugly process
Not him?
(Thank you very much for answering, btw!!)
Uh no I don't think he'd have such thoughts regarding bottoming, and s*x in general.
He can have self hatred for not having been strong enough to defend his clan and brother, but it's different. When it's about himself he doesn't even have strong self preservation...He does respect and admire strength in others and he wants to be strong himself but if he has s*x with someone it's supposed to be someone he respects and admire, at least, which means someone strong, to whom he'd be ok "submitting". That's why i like to imagine him with someone older and strong, mostly.
I hope it makes sense. You're welcome btw and thanks for asking!

What is Sasuke like when he's drunk? Got any hcs on that?
Some thoughts to consider:
- How often would he get drunk?
- What is he drinking?
- Why is he drinking?
- What is he like drunk and alone? What about other people?
- Is he trying to, or not to, get drunk? Wasted?
- Does he have problems later, the next morning?
- Has he ever thrown up?
Uhm I'm not able (or interested lol) go in such specific details. I guess. Maybe. ??
Disclaimer: alcohol and even more so, light drugs, are a controversial topic because some fans from some countries are totally ok with them, because culturally it's not a big deal and it's something the majority of young generations try in high school or later, while for others they are taboo because they are against religion and/or the law, so imagining their fave characters doing such thing is offensive and wrong and, for them, ooc. I'm from a country where it's ok to drink alcohol and young ppl try light drugs without much fuss, so for me unless ppl become a problem (for themselves and others) because of their alcohol/drug abuse, using them is no big deal.
Thinking about Sasuke in the canon Naruto universe, when he joined Orochimaru it's said he took 'drugs' and forbidden stuff to becomes stronger...as he showed more times, when he wants to achieve a goal he doesn't let morality or rules get in the way. Alcohol is the same, in a way, I mean it doesn't help his strength ofc, but if he had to drink with someone in order to gain some power, some information, something useful, he'd totally drink even though he'd want to not overdrink, because he has a goal.
If it's a leisure moment, like, Team Taka indulging in some drinks because, he'd let Suigetsu (and Karin) pour drinks for him, totally, and even if he wouldn't want as much as they drink he would drink a lot too, after all when Suigetsu challenges him he just tries to be more mature but eventually takes it (it's a funny dynamic I took from the anime episode when Sasuke frees Suigetsu and they end up fighting a rich criminal's big group), so it would be Juugo who'd make sure they'd all stop. Same for other characters ofc. He needs to be involved in something, to drink.
He's not an aggressive or a sad or a flirty drunk person though, he's just more relaxed. And kinda defiant.
When he's alone I don't think he would, even if he's sad, desperate, anything. He'd better wallow in desperate thoughts and memories, he'd never do anything to chase them away because it's his family, his brother, whom he failed to understand (in his own mind) so he can't even think about drinking to forget anything.
In a canon divergent AU, or a non massacre or a post ending, given the right context he'd totally drink, or rather, he'd totally accept someone else's drink offering. He'd drink with Naruto (and I wrote something related in Of Feathers and Fangs) who I imagine is an aggressive drunk, and since Sas can be defiant stuff might happen. He'd drink with Kakashi, I can totally imagine them doing so, in silence, but also randomly talking about deep stuff. Or with Itachi, if it was some AU where he's alive, and even though Itachi would control how much his brother would drink. But even with, idk, Shikamaru or, like in my non massacre AU I described in Victims of Peace or in my post ending canon divergent Broken Things, with Shisui.
In a modern AU he might experiment more because without a massacre, without the need for revenge, his self esteem issues and conflict with his father who compares him with his genius brother would be 'lighter' and even though he'd still would want to make his father proud of him and follow his brother's footsteps he might have more freedom, even though his family would still be kinda strict. He might need an outlet for his teenage angst and his low self esteem and inferiority complex. So experimenting more would mean accepting drinks and getting drunk after some challenge or smth, getting home trying to not be caught and so on. Which would be very hard with Itachi being a controlling older brother catching him before his family does and 'scolding' him himself.

i love that you also find rare ships so interesting!! do you have any fic recs for shisasu or kakasasu? also you have some of the best interpretations, headcanons and characterizations -- i specially adore your fic "victims of peace" it's such a eloquent canon divergence (the kakasasu references on this work is something that i would love to see being explored).
Rare ships are the coolest~
Hi and thank you very much for liking my fics especially VOP :)
I’m sorry, being picky with themes and characterizations I haven’t found anything of my taste in a long time which led to an unwilling stop in reading them at all.
So I can only link you the fics I recommended already, which means old posts.
For Kakasasu:
this old ask has Kakashi+geninSas fic recommendations, they’re all very old and ‘problematic’ for today’s fans’ standards, but who am I kidding, even older Sas’ fics are problematic for them.
This has Kakashi+Sasuke but not geninSas ones. There are many and they’re quite old and not all of them are as IC as I’d like them. Back then I wasn’t picky.
This is a short post ending drabble-ish thing I wrote. Tbh I had started writing something (unrelated to this) for a KS week but I didn’t have time then I didn’t have patience with fandom negative ppl then I didn’t have motivation to finish.
More KS fics recommended to me (haven’t read them or finished them tho) here and here.
For Shisasu here in this general post, there’s like 1 fic I guess.
Also this drabble by havanas-child, it’s in my blog but maybe they deactivated.
This is a short drabble dark-ish VOP-divergent thing I wrote.
This is my fics rec tag. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Not a request, just curious. Would you ever write more about Sasuke and Madara’s relationship? I love the idea of him being a mentor to Sasuke and love the dark take you had on it in your fic. I know you said you aren’t particularly interested in Itachi’s character anymore, is there a specific character you’d like to explore more?
I would, sure. And I’m glad you like my fic. I said it already so I’m repeating myself here, but the main reason I put it Somber Creation Pale Destruction (ff.net/ ao3) on hiatus was that I liked so much Madara and Sasuke being in their own world, literally, and the morbid-dark yet cosy atmosphere they were in, and since Itachi was supposed to appear as well, I kinda didn’t want lol.
Ofc I planned the whole plot, but still.
Tbh when I first had the idea of that fic I wanted to write the Madara/Sasuke relationship as secondary to Itachi/Sasuke, because I always liked the idea of Sasuke having Itachi as “one and only” in his heart (which imo is realistic for Sasuke, not necessarily in a shippy way), so that even if he got close to others, deep down there would always be Itachi, and I mean not necessarily in a romantic way.
Now I’d continue writing it, and I’d keep this Itachi thing, but I am very interested in exploring Sasuke’s interaction and relationships to other characters, because they’re less explored.
Yup I’m no longer interested in Itachi as a character, like I said already mostly because of the fandom and their stupid interpretation of his personality, either turning him into a meek martyr or accusing him of genocide and dismissing him, both aren’t interesting and don’t portray how controversial and interesting he used to be. But I did explore him and his relationship with Sasuke, in all its aspects. I still imagine Itasasu related things but yeah I would prefer to write something else instead. I’d never write Itachi and someone else anyway.
Other characters I’d like to explore?
Always interacting with Sasuke ofc, I am not interested otherwise. I kinda wrote it already in my writing page, and even more here.
Among all the characters I mentioned in the aforementioned ask I’d like to write more about:
Kakashi. I said it so many times but I love Kakashi and Sasuke interacting in any possible way. Kakasasu was my first ship and I have a lot of thoughts about them., despite the ending. I like Kakashi because he’s controversial, btw. If only I had motivation...my KS tag.
Suigetsu. imo they have a better dynamic than N*rusasu. More interesting. Sasuke respects Suigetsu and is totally comfortable with his quirks. Suigetsu provokes Sasuke to have his attention and respects him so much, he expressed it more times. And also, Suigetsu has a strong sadistic side, it’s canon. While Sasuke has a masochist side. For me it’s perfect. (suisasu tag)
Juugo. I wrote about how interesting I think their relationship is more times like here and here but the high esteem Sasuke holds for Juugo, and the loyalty, protectiveness and respect Juugo has for Sasuke imo are amazing. And the ‘I’ll be your cage’ Sasuke told him is darkfic material. And it’s canon. (juusasu tag)
Obito. His interaction and relationship with Sasuke were so interesting in canon, so ambiguous, so promising. Because they did spend time together, and they were both Uchiha. And Obito knew things but Sasuke didn’t. And Obito called Sasuke ‘fellow traitor’ before being taken over by Madara...I did start something I never finished about them tbh. (obisasu tag and meta)
Deidara. Not many realize that despite his loud/bragging attitude Deidara has a low self esteem and he looks up to Itachi whom he tried to impress. Like Sasuke, in a way. And both are reckless when it comes to not caring what happens to themselves. They are opposite but they also have these in common...And, aeshtetically, Deidara is blond, like N*ruto but hotter lol. I kinda like to imagine an Akatsuki AU where Sasuke is in a team with Itachi but also he has interactions with the other members and Deidara is basically his same age but he’s more experienced and they have some rivalry going on.
Shikamaru. I kinda think it would be interesting to put a clever and aloof lukewarm lazy guy whose loyalty towards Konoha is strong, close to an equally clever and aloof guy but very passionate inside, whose loyalty comes from his own feelings and thoughts and personal values instead. It has potential for good interactions, meaningful discussions and ambiguous moments since Shikamaru can control shadow and tie people up, and is very ruthless when he wants. Darkfic potential.
In that post I also mentioned Gaara, Sai and others so I won’t repeat myself more.
The only character not related to Sasuke is Tobirama. I disagree with his values and ideas but he’s interesting in his controversial way imo. Such a strict character yet so open minded when it came to develop forbidden jutsu, even defying death with Edo Tensei. So apparently domineering but so loyal to his older brother. I am kinda interested in some angsty dark scenario with Hashirama and I kinda had an idea I never developed.
Like I said here even tho I have less new ideas it’s not like I don’t have any, but I don’t have much motivation to write so I play my scenarios in my head.
Also, mostly, because I like darkfics but ppl like ‘wholesome’ and tbh I’ve had enough of fandom police shitting on my work just like I’ve had enough of judgemental condescendence like ‘you write well but your fics are too dark for me’.
(or being tagged in some gorey fics bc creeps like Hawk must be into all kinds of creepy things even tho I’ve always said I’m not into that specific stuff lol)

What do you think of S@suke's the Last design? (tattered poncho, clothes) I remember seeing a certain *fandom* having a massive meltdown over it claiming that it is OOC for Sas to "dress like a homeless" due to his prideful personality + because he should have some money since he is the last uchiha heir. Would love to hear your thoughts on whether it's OOC or IC? Do you like the design/indifferent/dislike?
Luckily I don’t follow fandom trends and discussions...I think that kishi, like most authors of stories set in a universe different from ours, didn’t think about details like how much money characters own. It’s fans who examine everything including this. It can be entertaining, or it can be boring af depending on how the subject is written. I can already imagine some long ass essay style thing written by fake woke fans who will also analyse Konoha’s economic system as if they’re writing their final thesis at university, only to start sh*t at those who enjoy the story without demanding a system reform at every chapter they read, since it’s a fictional world with flaws that are never going to be fixed because it’s how that world goes.
I did write some money related thoughts here but they’re about Team Taka Sasuke.
Since Sasuke left the village becoming a rogue with a death sentence upon his head, it’s safe to assume he didn’t have access to Uchiha money, and since Pain destroyed the village idk if the Uchiha compound was rebuilt, but anyway a destroyed compound means destroyed things, even valuables, and we don’t see banks or whateveve place money can be stored. And lol I am not exactly interested in imagining this. I imagine there is some Uchiha money/valuable stuff in Konoha’s custody, and if he goes back to the village he’ll be able to retrieve them.
But I don’t even care about imagining him putting those things in a shitty marriage written to have a new generation.
Back to The Last, first of all movies have to give new content, including a new look to characters, something new and easily recognizable. I don’t remember but it came out before the ending, sure before Shinden (where Sas is so stylish) so it has this tattered pants poncho and necklaces wearing Sasuke who is kind of cute and interesting imo, except for tattered pants.
My out of universe explanation is that authors wanted to give Sas an extreme traveller “Into The Wild” vibe.
My in universe explanation is that during his long atonement trip, at some moment he arrived in some place without ppl, or without ppl selling clothes or sewing tools. So he just went on with what he had.
Or maybe he ran out of money, after all he didn’t look like he had much money when he left Konoha after being imprisoned, sealed, blindfolded and tamed into submission for who knows how long.
(canon fans don’t interact. you’ll be blocked anyway)

So I just read your fic about sasuke in prison and it was brilliant. I’m curious if you have thoughts about how that experience would go in a canon divergent world? Like how a lot of people want Taka to either break him out at some point or once he’s out he returns to Taka. How the experience would affect him and all that? If you don’t feel like answering, no pressure. Just really loved your take on the situation.
Thank you very much.
I already wrote a little something (and I made an anime edit) about a canon divergent AU where Taka breaks Sasuke out of prison.
I think Team Taka would want to free Sasuke from inprisonment very much cause they love and support him more than Konoha does, and they have the abilities to do it.
In such case I think for Sasuke it would take some time to recover, since being blindfolded and sealed is a hard experience, with Ibiki as guard and probably being conditioned/guilt tripped into submission. But being freed would not let that brainwashing process be complete, which is good. Sasuke would be able to see and understand things and people and their selfish motifs more clearly, thus not feeling tied and submitted to the village. He’d still feel the need to ‘be like Itachi’ and protect the village imo, but he’d be more like protecting it from afar, like Itachi did, not from inside the village.
So he would be able to travel with Team Taka, to stay with them in some place, and to help the village when there’s a threat, not forgetting Konoha’s dark sides.

Would Itachi or Sasuke wish they were not shinobi or Uchiha? Do they think their lives would have been easier if they were nameless civilians? I love your metas!
Thank you.
Sasuke's wish was to be like his father and brother, and Itachi was too deep into the shinobi reality to think about something else. They might have had fleeting dreams of being someone else, somewhere else, ofc, but I think it would have been just a passing thought, not a real desire.
I think that the story wouldn't exist if they were nameless civilians so I don't even consider this kind of scenario cause for me it's boring and it takes away all the depth of their story.
We can imagine all kinds of scenarios for them but without a strong drive, without a genius older brother and a hard working younger brother who despite his efforts can't get to the genius level thus his self esteem is low, also because of their father fueling the competition indirectly...it feels more boring and ordinary. Not my kind of thing. This kind of scenario can happen in different families, even in modern AUs, so in a non shinobi AU it can happen too, but it would be less intense than in a shinobi family planning a coup.
So ofc their lives would be easier as nameless civilians but it would be boring as hell, and may I remind everyone that the reason ppl got into Nar and the Uchiha is that their story is dark and intense and full of angst and suffering. If it were 'wholesome' and positive no one would have cared, despite the recent fan trends.
More non massacre scenario AUs here.

Ok I’m drunk so go easy if this is anon (I don’t know if I’m logged in on my phone or not) if you don’t support a Sas that stays out of Konica canonically, who do you he he ends up with? And how?
Not sure what you asked tho.
I mean why you said I don’t support Sasuke out of Konoha? Cause that’s what I’d like for him. I'd just like Sasuke to travel with Team Taka because imo Juugo, Suigetsu and Karin are the best friends and comrades he can have. Team Taka is the best team. They were always there for him, they spoke their mind freely when they disagreed with him but they never judged him or try to change him, they always supported him no matter what. So I’d have wanted him to stay with them and travel, helping those in need because he always does it even though he doesn’t brag about it. Having Orochimaru as a mentor from a distance, kinda helping them if they get in bigger trouble, cause when they fought in the war it’s what he had done.
Who he ends up with is not the most important thing, I mean shipping is cool and I'm not like some pretentious fans who don't ship and kinda act morally superior, but for the ending it's not like you need an endgame pairing. In fact it's better to leave an open ending where anyone can imagine their favourite. With limits ofc. No canon pairings bullshit, no forced heterosexual pairings that only are there to make babies for new shitty generation. Nope.
But like I said here and here and here Team Taka pairings are cool and I’d like them, especially Suisasu and Juusasu. Heterosexual pairings are weak in Nar but Sasukarin would have been better than any other Sasuke het pairing (but Suikarin is cooler imo).
Was yours an ask about Sasuke staying in Konoha and choosing a pairing for him in that context?
I’d choose Kakashi, like I wrote here and here. Kakasasu is my first Nar ship and I love it very much despite every negative and controversial detail. A post ending KS would be cool.
Nar*sasu is kinda classic but if done in a way I like, which is not denying its dark sides and Nar’s possessive and imposing personality would be ok. My NS tag.
I mentioned rare pairings, including Konoha, here. I find interesting Shikamaru/Sasuke especially, and, kinda, Sai/Sasuke. Het pairings are not interesting bc Konoha girls’ personalities are not as interesting as guys’.
If it’s something else entirely I replied to ending related asks here and here and here. Also here, here and here. Aand here, here and here. I wrote something heartwarming about it here and I wrote something dark here.
This is my post ending AU edit tag, where Sasuke and revived Itachi travel. This is my tag for headcanons, AUs and alternative endings. This is my tags page, its link is also in my profile description. This is my post ending AU edit tag, where Sasuke and revived Itachi travel. This is my writing page, since I also wrote a post ending fic about Sasuke reviving Itachi, What He Wanted (ff.net/ archive of our own)

If you wrote Sasuke's ending, what would it look like?
I replied to similar asks, here and here. Also here. And kinda also here, here and here.
I think that Sasuke lost too much to be completely happy and healed. He will never have his family back, he will never have his brother back, no matter what this pain will always remain in him. He can get better, he can be more at peace but still. I’d never write him completely healed and happy.
I’d write him leaving Konoha with Team Taka, the team he personally formed and whose people he trusts, they are the most loyal comrades he had, not judging him guilty or anything, just supporting him no matter what. They’d travel, they’d see the world and help where they can, he’d not be a traitor and he’d not be a slave to Konoha. In the meantime the hokage, be it tsunade, Kakashi or N*ruto, would clear Itachi’s name and make the truth about the massacre public, condemning the surviving elders who wanted it.
Sasuke would return to the village occasionally, he’d see how many changes were made to give his clan and his brother justice, this would give him some peace. The last thing Konoha should do is a statue of Itachi, not representing the one considered a criminal and a terrorist, and not representing a poor victim, but representing the silent, forgotten soldiers who were forced to do bad things in the name of the village or worse, since Itachi was blackmailed by Danzo. It also goes for Sai and Root.
Sasuke and Team Taka would also do missions for Konoha occasionally, Orochimaru would not do creepy experiments and he’d be pardoned because he became a scientist doing useful things for once. He’d be Sasuke’s mentor, basically, since he was good at it.
This is the most realistic ending I can think of.
Ofc I might imagine Sasuke having the change to revive Itachi, travel with him, have justice together, but imo the Team Taka based one is ‘healthier’ lol. Not that I care but it’s more realistic. Because Itachi revived as Edo Tensei, when he didn’t want to be revived, when Sasuke always respected Itachi’s will, is meh in a canon-ish universe. But on the other hand I wrote a fic about Sasuke reviving Itachi, What He Wanted, set in the post ending universe as a darkish fix-it, this might give you an idea. Tbh most of my fics are set in an ending-ish universe and try to explain it, or fix it. Or explore its dark potential.

I just rewatched the part where sasuke still runs away to oro even though his clan is alive and it triggered me again. Do you have an opinion on how he would interact specifically with his father in that sort of AU? I just wish we got better content on his interactions with his family at some point. I don’t think he would leave them just because he felt inferior and jealous.
I replied to a similar ask here and here, this is pretty much everything I wrote about non massacre AU stuff and this is my headcanons tag.
That filler is a wasted opportunity, they could have created a good non massacre AU but they wanted the same tensions and problems from canon so instead of working harder with creativity and creating a situation where conflict exists but it's different because the context is different, they just made everything ok except for Sasuke who's extremely high strung and seeking power, which is ooc especially in an AU where his family is alive, since in canon his dream was to work with his father and brother, no power dream at all.
Tbh the only good things about that AU were the interactions between Minato and Itachi, and Shisui and Sasuke.
I think that with his father he would have been pretty much like he was as a child, respecful and admiring him very much. And being a little afraid of him even, because in a traditional household sons are always a little afraid of their father, who represents 'the' authority, and ofc the person they admire and love and whom they want to be aknowledged, just like child Sasuke was with his father in canon.
Ofc he would never leave his family, especially not because he felt inferior and jealous. On the contrary he would work harder to get stronger and better and earn his father's approval. In case he wouldn't obtain it he would be sad, but he would blame himself for not being as good as Itachi, he wouldn't disrespect his brother or his father. Never.
