Not really a joellie thing because it's more one sided but still cute: imagine if she had this little crush on him and after he gave her this tape she would listen all the time like the silly girl she is. She would probably listen everytime she's chilling in her bed, kicking her feet and giggling because "hihi he made this for me". And he notices she has this little thing for him where she blushes all the time he gets too close when teaching her guitar and makes her get all silly when he compliments her. He notices, and he thinks is just too adorable of her, and funny to the point his head goes back as he laughs sometimes at this. He also knows that she messes with him just as a cover up, because in the end of the day, he knows she's like those middle school little girls that are mean to the boys they like, so of course his lil sidekick won't give up on her bravado. Not even for him.

Ellie messing with Joel is definitely a deflection - because if she shows affection in any manner, it would give her away 😏

Ao3 is actually massively culturally important and very very good at being what it is. I’m so serious when I say that ao3 needs to be protected as the anti censorship, by fans for fans, nonprofit, volunteer run, expertly designed archival site that it is. You don’t have to read or like fanfiction to understand that on principle, ao3 is a site that should be defended.

Happy Tuesday cubs 🫶🏻

Things are a little slow here; kiddo and I had a three-day weekend, which included her having a cold. That translated to lots of snuggles and Christmas movies while Daddy Bear and I slowly moved the Christmas boxes down from the attic.

This now means my house is a mess of boxes and decorations strewed about - giving me anxiety about putting it away in January!

All this is to say: writing has been slow. Lots of ideas - putting them to paper is the dream. But, I’m here, I’m hanging in there and hoping to sit down and write soon.

I’m often very critical of my work, it’s never good enough, never polished enough, the dialogue is off - something is always wrong.

But there are a few scenes that I’ve written that I love and revisit just to make myself giggle. This scene, this bratty scene still makes me laugh, and I wrote it!

Will brat tamer Joel return? Where we left off in LtW, Ellie is pretty traumatized. She has a lot of pain to sort through, and that will take some time. But that being said, our sassy Ellie will be back, giving her mountain man guard dog a run for his money!
