I’m new to the sugar world. I have one POT that I’ll be seeing for the 3rd time and we’ll be coming to an arrangement agreement then. However, POT reached out to me and what’s to meet this week but he’s going about it completely different than the other one did. He asked what I would want a month, I said $3K, and he said $1,400 but potentially the 3K would be no problem in the future if we click. Do you think he’s genuine or a salt daddy?
Some SDs will try and undercut you, so that’s why I always suggest asking for double. Because what he did there was cut your asking amount in half. If you had asked for $6k and he said $3k you’d be getting what you want, see?
It doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a salt as long as he brings the agreed upon amount to the public date. You can try and negotiate up and meet in the middle maybe at $2k to start. Whatever you do, just make sure the agreed upon amount is something that works for you. If you really do need $3k at this point and you can’t come down from that number, it’s okay to tell him that it won’t for you. But be prepared to potentially walk away from this if he won’t come up to an amount that works for you. If he shows up without the allowance or some story, he’s a salt and you should block him. This is the 3rd date so there’s no reason for anything but the money if he’s serious. Don’t ever try and bargain with a salt or hope that he’ll come around to giving money because he will not and he will waste your time/energy.
Rich men don’t like to spend money on transactional things and they will always try and bargain or get a discount. If he sees you as an investment and there’s an emotional attachment to you, he won’t even blink when discussing your allowance. Maybe you can try working a psychological angle with him if he has proven that he’s an actual spender by bringing your agreed upon allowance. Have you heard of using dark energy for seduction? cooking and eating dinner together honestly sounds like just the Ideal Date and since im constantly craving soup and hot bread, here’s some recipes that come to mind for a few types of soup and homemade bread:
 Homemade Bread
2 cups warm water (110 degrees F, 45 degrees C)
¼ - ⅓ cup suagr
1½ tablespoons dry active yeast
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup vegetable or olive oil (plus some extra)
6 cups of bread or all purpose flour (plus some extra for when youre kneading)
Add the water to a large bowl, dissolve one tablespoon of the sugar. Add the yeast, let it proof for about five minutes
add the rest of the suagr, the salt, and the oil. mix well
stir in the flour in one cup at a time, knead for about seven minutes
add a little oil to a bowl and place the dough in it, turn it over a couple times so the dough is evenly coated in oil
cover the bowl and let it rise for one hour until the dough has doubled in size
punch it down (this is the fun time) and then knead for a minute
divide the dough in half, shape into two loaves and let it rise for another 30 minutes
bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F/175 degrees C
Tomato Soup
2 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
¼ large white onion, finely chopped
¼ medium zucchini, finely chopped
2 cups vegetable broth
24-oz. can whole peeled plum tomatoes (include the juice)
½ cup of heavy cream
Thyme
Oregano
Parsley
Basil
Celery seed
salt and pepper
In a large saucepan on medium high heat, cook the onion in the oil
Soften them but dont brown them
Add zucchini and broth 
Add the tomatoes once the zucchini is soft
Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally
Reduce heat to low and let it simmer 
Add the spices, let it keep simmering
Blend with a hand blender
Add the cream
Baked Potato Soup
12 slices bacon 
⅔ cup butter
⅔ cup all-purpose flour
7 cups milk
4 large baked potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 green onions, chopped
1 ¼ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper
Cook the bacon in a pan and crumble it up
Melt the butter in a crockpot over medium heat
Whisk in flour until smooth
Gradually store in milk, whisking constantly until thickened
Stir in onions and potatoes, bring to a boil, and stir frequently
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes
Mix in bacon, cheese, salt, and pepper
Continue cooking and stirring frequently until cheese melts
Sausage Soup 
19 ounces Italian Sausage
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 medium carrots, sliced
1 large onion, chopped
3 celery ribs, chopped
2 cartons (32 ounces each) chicken broth
2 medium zucchini, sliced
1 medium summer squash, sliced
1-pint cherry tomatoes halved
salt and pepper
Grill sausage, cool slightly, slice, and set aside
In a soup pot, heat olive oil
Saute carrots, onions, and celery
Stir in broth, sausage, zucchini, squash, and tomatoes
Add salt and pepper to taste
Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes
Cheese Soup
¼ cup butter
1 onion, chopped
¼ cup all-purpose flour
3 cups chicken broth
3 cups milk
<1 pound shredded Cheddar cheese
In a saucepan, melt the butter and add onion. Cook for 5 minutes
Add flour and cook until it’s all blended
Add chicken broth, stir constantly until mixture has thickened
Add milk and heat to boil, keep stirring
Blend with a hand blender
Stir in cheese with whisk until melted
Corn Chowder
8 ears fresh sweet yellow corn, husked and silks removed and kernels cut from cob 3 Tbsp butter 5 slices bacon, cut into 1/4 to 1/2-inch pieces 1 medium yellow onion chopped (1 1/2 cups) 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 clove garlic, minced 5 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth 1 lb Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch pieces dried thyme bay leaf Salt and pepper 1 cup half and half 2 - 3 Tbsp chopped fresh chives Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving (optional)
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the onion and bacon and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion has softened and just started to brown around the edges, about 8 - 10 minutes.
Add in the flour and garlic and cook for 1 1/2 minutes.
While whisking, slowly pour in 5 cups of water or broth.
Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, then stir in corn kernels and potatoes.
Add in thyme and bay leaf and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to a light boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and allow to simmer, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
Remove bay leave then blend blend blend. Sprinkle each serving with chives and cheddar.

German Chocolate Cookies

Imagine the most perfect slice of german chocolate cake, transformed into a cookie. Pure heaven. A slightly fudgy, super soft cookie topped with amazing coconut pecan frosting.
Ingredients:
for the cookie - 1 1/4 cups AP flour
1/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cornstarch
pinch of salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
3/4 cups brown suagr
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
for the frosting - 1/2 cup evaporated or regular milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 stick (4 tbsp) butter
1 tsp vanila extract
pinch of salt
3/4 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 - 3/4 cups chopped pecans (depends how much you want)
1. For the cookies - Preheat your oven to 350*. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a medium sized bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt. Mix everything well. Set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle, combine the butter and both sugars. Beat together on medium high speed for 1 minute, until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides as needed and beat again for 30 seconds. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and beat on medium until combined. Scrape down the sides and bottom.
3. Turn the mixer onto low and add the dry ingredients into the batches. After each addition of dry ingredients, let everything mix for 15 seconds. Once all the dry has been added turn the speed up to medium and beat for 30 seconds. Scrape down the sides and beat for another 30 seconds.
4. Use a large cookie scoop to scoop the dough and place on the prepared cookie sheet. I got exactly 15 cookies when I made them. The dough will be a little sticky so try not to touch it too much. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, the rotate the pan 180* and cook for 1 more minute. Remove the pan from the oven and place on a wire cooling rack. Let the cookies cool completely on the pan.
5. For the frosting - While the cookies are cooling, prepare the frosting. Add the milk, sugar, egg yolk, and butter to a small sauce pan over medium heat. Stir frequently with a rubber spatula until the butter has fully melted. Once the butter has melted cook the mixture for 10 minutes, whisking every 45 seconds - a minute to make sure everything combines well. After 10 minutes the mixture should be thickened up quite a bit. Add the vanilla and salt and whisk everything together well. Allow to cook for another 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and add the coconut and pecans. Mix well. Allow the frosting to cool completely.
6. Once the cookies and frosting are cool, use an offset spatula to spread about 1 tbsp (or as much as you want) of the frosting on top of each cookie. Enjoy with a tall glass of milk.

Happy Recipe Wednesday!
These are real period recipes, taken from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, a local newspaper that would have been accessible to Steve, his mother, and Bucky during their time in Brooklyn.
This week’s recipes are a whole bunch of pies and desserts, omnomnomnomnom. They come from Thursday 2 May 1940 edition of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. For context, Steve would have been 20 (comics) / 22 (MCU) (…well, two days short of those ages…)
Tender Flaky Pie Crust 1 cup bread flour ½ teaspoon sugar 2 or 3 tablespoons ice water ½ teaspoon salt 1-3 cup vegetable shortening Sift flour once before measuring. Then sift flour, sugar and salt together. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives. Add ice water. Sprinkle it lightly over mixture, blending it in until dough leaves sides of bowl. Roll out on lightly floured canvas covered board. Then fold the four sides of pastry toward center, each fold overlapping last one till you have a square. Then roll out again to size of pie pan. This folding of pastry makes for flakiness. Fit pastry into the back of pie pan, leaving ½ inch extended beyond edge of pan. Turn this edge back to make a double thickness on crust and flute with prongs of fork. Prick the whole crust all over with fork to prevent puffing. Nake 10 to 12 minutes in very hot oven 500 degrees.
Deep Dish Apple Pie ¼ to ½ cup sugar 1 tablespoon flour 5 medium apples Grate apples, skin and all with coarse grater or vegetable slicer. Mix with sugar and flour. Put into deep pie dish or shallow casserole, cover with top crust. Prick or slash to allow steam to escape. Bake in a hot oven 425 deg. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to moderate temperature, 350 degreed and continue baking for about 30 minutes.
Cheese-Olive Sauce Cheese-olive sauce is something new for boiled rice. Make up two cups of reguar white vegetable sauce, mix in one-half cup grated or finely cut cheese and one-quarter cup chopped ripe olives. Cook slowly five minutes and pour over three cups of boiled rice. Try the sauce served on macaroni or peas. It’s mighty good.
Rhubarb and Date Pie 2 cups of rhubarb cut in pieces 1 cup dates cut in small pieces 2/3 to 1 cup sugar, to suit taste 2 teaspoons flour 1 egg Water to fill ½ and egg shell Mix flour and suagr, beat egg well, then add water to egg. Add to the first mixture. Combine with rhubarb and dates. Place in tin that has been lined with pie crust, brushed with fat to keep juices from soaking through. Make lattice crust for the top and bake in hot, 425 oven for about 30 minutes.
Lemon Pie 1 lemon, juice and grated rind 1 orange, juice and grated pulp 2 egg yolks, beaten light 3 tablespoons cornstarch 1 cup granulated sugar 2 tablespoons butter 1 ½ cup water Beat egg yolks light and stir in mixed, dry ingredients. Add liquids, lemon and orange rind, and butter. Cook in double boiler until thick. Cool, pour into baked pie shell. Cover with meringue made by beating the egg white stiff and adding 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar and two tablespoons water. Beat again. Brown in moderate oven for 15 minutes.
Strawberry Cream Pie 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons flour 2 eggs, beaten 1 cup sour cream 1 small box strawberries 1 unbaked pie shell Combine sugar and flour, add beaten eggs. Then carefully add sour cream. Hull and wash the berries. Bake in pastry shell in a very hot oven, 450 degreed, until set. Place berries in shell, then pour cream mixture over them. Finish baking in a slow oven—25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cover with: Strawberry Meringue 2 egg whites 1 cup hulled strawberries 1 cup powdered sugar Beat ingredients together for 10 minutes in an electric mixer or by hand for 15 to 20 minutes. Pile on top of pie and set in cold place.
Pink-and-White Birthday Cake 1 ½ cups sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla ½ cup Crisco 2 cups cake flour 2 teaspoons baking powder ¾ cup water 4 egg whites Blend sugar, salt, vanilla, and Crisco. Sift flour and baking powder twice. Add flour mixture alternately with water; beat till smooth. Beat egg whites stiff but not dry. Fold into batter. bake in two 9″ layer pans (”Criscoed”-and-floured) in moderate oven (360 F.) 35 minutes. Put together with— Maraschino Cherry Filling: To part of icing, add ½ cup well-drained chopped maraschino cherries and ½ cup chopped pecans. Maraschino Icing: Use juice from 8-oz. bottle of maraschino cherries; add enough water to make ½ cup. Boil juice and 2 cups sugar until syrup spins a thread (238 F.). Pour slowly over 2 beaten egg whites, beating constantly till icing holds shape. Use part for filling (above) and the rest for icing.
Strawberry Chiffon Pie 1 tablespoon plain gelatin ¼ cup cold water 3 eggs ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar 1 pint fresh strawberries ¼ cup sugar ½ teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons lemon juice ½ cup sugar Soak gelatin in ¼ cup cold water about 5 minutes. Then beat egg yolks slightly in top of double boiler. Blend in the ¼ cup sugar, and the salt and lemon juice. Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick (5 to 10 minutes). Now blend in the soaked gelatin and crushed berries and beat with rotary beater 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool. Chill in refrigerator until thick enough to barely hold its shape. Then beat again with rotary beater till smooth. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar till it will stand in peaks, then gradually beat in the ½ cup of sugar till stiff and glossy. Fold this into strawberry mixture and pile lightly into cooled baked 9 inch pie shell. Chill in refrigerator till “set” about ½ hour. Keep cool till ready to serve. Spread stiffly whipped cream over the top of the pile and decorate with whole or sliced strawberries.
