I've finally finished this animation I've been working on for ages. Would really appreciate it if you spread it around, it's probably the only way it'll get any traction. Also look for the companion video showing how this all came together!

c.Brio: I know he gets upset about everything, but there are times when I can't help but ask him if he loves me or simply if he loves me. Although sometimes he denies it, when we are alone it is something else.
Don't tell him that he is my reason for existence.

ok so there's an evil scientist named Doctor Neo Periwinkle Cortex, and together with his lab partner Doctor Nitrus Brio he hatches a plan to take over the world by mutating animals into super soldiers.
He purchases a set of islands off the coast of Australia and begins experimenting on the wildlife. He has some success, creating various sentient anthropomorphic animal mutants with superhuman abilities. Among the experiments is Crash Bandicoot, who is set to be Cortex's general. There's also Crash's girlfriend Tawna, and his sister Coco, who through the experiments becomes a super genius.
Cortex uses a mind control device called the Cortex Vortex to brainwash his minions, but something goes wrong when he tries to use it on Crash. Crash and Coco escape, and in a bid to save his girlfriend, Crash ends up demolishing Cortex's base and foiling his plan, nearly killing Cortex. All the other animals also escape in the chaos. From then on, Crash and Coco mostly just try to enjoy their lives, while going back into action whenever Cortex has a new scheme.
The whole franchise has a very 90s cartoon vibe, which I find very charming. The rogues gallery is quite extensive, and has a lot of fan favourite recurring characters, including other mutants like Dingodile and Tiny Tiger, other evil scientists like N. Gin and N. Tropy, the alien Nitrous Oxide, and Nina, Cortex's niece. The games are largely a metaphor for pollution, with Cortex's influence symbolizing the waste and corruption brought by industry as it erodes nature. As you progress through the games, the levels often transition from lush jungles to harsh industrial environments as you venture deeper into Cortex's territory.
The series has changed hands many times over its existence, originally developed by Naughty Dog and published by Universal Interactive, who held the rights. Universal Interactive merged with Vivendi, which was then purchased by Activision, which then merged with Blizzard, and was then purchased by Microsoft. Other developers who left a lasting impression on the Crash franchise include Traveler's Tales, Toys for Bob, Vicarious Visions, and Beenox.

'Call it How Neil Patrick Harris Met Your Favorite British Time Travel Show.
Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies tells EW that the American actor was completely unfamiliar with the beloved science fiction series when the executive producer approached Harris about playing a villain called The Toymaker on this Saturday's final 60th anniversary special episode, "The Giggle."
"He’d never heard of it in his life, bless him," Davies says with a laugh. "I was lucky enough to work with the great man on a show called It’s a Sin, about the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, and working with him was such a joy. The Toymaker, he's kind of the god of games, so he shuffles cards, he does magic tricks, and all of that fits Neil Patrick Harris. If you go through agents, they often tell you to go away. I was able to send just a text saying, 'Do you fancy reading this?' He read it and literally phoned me up going, 'Let me get this right, so the Doctor’s an alien, right?' I was like, 'Oh my god, you really have never heard of Doctor Who!' But he couldn’t resist it, and he came to Cardiff, and we had the most spectacular time."
The Toymaker first appeared on the show back in the '60s, when the character was portrayed by Michael Gough and the Doctor was played by William Hartnell. This time around, Harris' villain will face off against David Tennant and Catherine Tate, who are reprising their respective roles of the Doctor and Donna Noble for the three anniversary episodes after many years away from the show. Davies explains that, "it's very hard to find the villain who can match David Tennant and Catherine Tate. To have a character who can be in danger of defeating those two is very hard to find. Sometimes on Doctor Who, you need armies of a thousand robots who could do that. This is just one person, so casting them was absolutely crucial and this becomes a pivotal event in the Doctor’s life. We needed that man, and, god, we had a glorious time. It’s so lovely working with Neil. When I text him now, [we ask], what’s our third project together? We’ve got to keep going!"
Tennant agrees that Davies made the right choice in casting Harris as the episode's villain.
"Oh, he’s good," the actor says. "I don’t quite know if he knew what to expect, but he dived in with such gusto and brio. This part requires a lot of skill sets and Neil turns up with them all. I don’t want to give away too much about what might be required of the Toymaker, but you need a sort of an all-round entertainer to play that part and a very good actor, so there aren’t a lot of people who could have ticked all the boxes required. We were really excited when Neil said 'yes,' and actually it’s impossible to imagine who else it might have been. He’s a sort of theater animal, so he’s got that bit of graft about him that my Scottish Presbyterian soul rather enjoys being around. And he’s got a twinkle in his eye, which is sort of the combination of elements that you need for Doctor Who, I think."'

new crash OC her name is 'rachnidoodle and she's a poodle/ogre-faced spider mutant. while off the shits on inhalants n brio gets the idea in his head that these two animals combined would make the perfect agent for capturing and retrieving new lab specimens from the wild. she is always thrilled to go "get 'em, get 'em, get 'em" but unfortunately her poodle instincts make her only interested in capturing ducks and other waterfowl. these are just shitty ipad sketches but ill draw her cleaner and in color soon

Oh my god.
TLDR: I've just encountered a meme in the wild for the first time and now my toddler is looking at me like I've lost my mind
Long version: so my son has become obsessed with Donald and Daisy Duck. He has loved ducks since he was old enough to identify a duck, duck was basically his first word, he loves a duck. So it's not a big surprise that Donald and Daisy went down a storm when we met them in Fantasia 2000, where they have an epic and moving comedy of errors on Noah's Ark to the tune of Land of Hope And Glory. (They both think the other has drowned. They are utterly inconsolable until they find each other again, at which point I weep my own tears. This deeply dramatic attachment to each other may come into play later in this story.)
This was only his second exposure to the classic Disney animals because the Sorcerer's Apprentice is in the original Fantasia and we watched it first. Then, two beloved friends gave him a Brio train with Donald and Daisy figures, associating them with a SECOND form of very beloved transport, and cementing them as a) very important friends who we love and b) inseparable from each other.
Yesterday, he asked for Donald and Daisy on the telly, so we had that section of Fantasia 2000 again. And then he asked for MORE Donald and Daisy. And for a moment, life was made of WOE. Because I was certain, given we have the Disney channel, this could be achieved. But I was not raised on the Disney Friends (princesses and other movies yes, mickey no) so the best I could do was type in 'donald' and 'daisy' into the search. TRAGICALLY, we could not find a single program that had Donald AND Daisy in the thumbnail, though there were plenty of Donald only and a smattering of Daisy-only and a few misc Ducks, and if you remember the first chapter of this epic you will know that it is VITALLY IMPORTANT that Donald and Daisy not be separated! My son WEPT INCONSOLABLY at the idea of watching a Donald cartoon without Daisy in it.
And then, AND THEN, I spotted that in the background of the thumbnails for something called Mickey's Clubhouse, there was a group of characters including both Donald and Daisy! SUCCESS. So now we watch Mickey's Clubhouse even though it's slightly annoying and they use thinks like 'hot diggity dog' and 'mouseketools', it's at least high budget nonsense and better than fucking Blippi, who thinks Pluto is a planet and seems to make new Youtube accounts faster than I can block them.
It's a success! Donald and Daisy are both here! They are clearly secondary characters, but it's good enough! And there's a fun but deeply odd mechanic with these 'mouseketools' where we take along three weird objects and have a slot left for a mystery object that will assist during the latter stages of the plot.
At which point I, a very online but not very Disney-literate 40 year old, laugh for like three minutes and my son thinks I have finally relinquished my tenuous grip on reality.
Or to put it another way:
