Just watched The Librarians S2E8 And the Point of Salvation and...

I loved it, for the most part. Cleverly written and a fantastic Ezekiel-centric episode! He had beautiful moments with each of the others and learnt so much from them. He had substantial character growth and was given the space to bear the weight of serious circumstances and respond appropriately. This episode had the potential to be incredibly pivotal for Ezekiel's character!

And yet....

That ending. What the hell?? What do you mean his memory is lost and he forgets all of those poignant moments???? All those conversations, all that learning to rely on others - are freaking serious??

I'm never a fan of time loop episodes, but I thought they were handling this one pretty well. Right up until they erased all of Ezekiel's character growth at the drop of a hat. This was literally the equivalent of "and then she woke up" being used in a novel. It's weak and strips all purpose of what the characters have just been through.

Ugh! Tell me I'm not the only one. How dare they give me such a good episode of growth and discovering potential for Ezekiel Jones, then take it all back with a just kidding!

Day 2 of Inktober Freeplay

They’re not sure what to make of each other quite yet; still sizing each other up. I’m sure they’ll warm up to each other and become fast allies though.

Most of the students are surprised when they find out Shadow is a nursing student. Especially a pediatric nurse. They see this dark, brooding tough guy, with his growl of a voice, eternal frown, and glare sharp enough to kill you, and think, "Should this guy really be taking care of kids?"

They don't see him holding a five-year-old's hand and telling her how brave she is while she gets a shot. They don't see him stocking up on Bluey band-aids because all the clinic has are the normal ones and the ones with cartoons make the kids smile. They don't see him asking a seven-year-old what Pokemon is his favorite and listening to him infodump for the entire appointment. They don't see him humming soothingly as he performs a checkup on a toddler. They don't see him getting ready for work in the morning and putting on his Hello Kitty scrubs because he knows the quickest way to get kids to laugh and set them at ease is to see this edgy-looking adult male wearing a bright pink Hello Kitty shirt.

Most people look at him and don't think he's a good fit for the nursing program. But all the kids he works with happen to think otherwise.

Time for my yearly (ish, kinda, sorta, maybe) time to ANNOUNCE THAT I FUCKING LOVE SCARLET SCARAB!! I MISS HIM SO MUCH.

Look at my son. His iconic palette swapped fit. His funky little scarab buddy. His cool ass name. He's my little fella, my good time boy, the best mf that has ever existed on the planet and that time-span was like one episode. IF SCARLET SCARAB HAS NO FANS THEN I AM FUCKING DEAD.

I dunno about you guys but I think this chapter, which has two girls who have been viciously opposed to each other since the day they met go at each other to the point of horrible injury because one of them is convinced she's a monster who can only love people through violence only for the other one to reach out a hand of compassion and understanding and say "no, you are a human being, you have a wonderful smile and your heart was wounded and I am so, so sorry I wasn't there to stop the bleeding sooner" all while bleeding heavily from a wound the first girl gave her but still being able to call her cute (that is to say, just another girl who deserves to love people and be loved in return) with a genuine and loving smile on her blood caked face which is the reason why the fight has any kind of happy ending at all, was pretty dang Yuri.
