In all sincerity my favorite moment was, and probably always will be, the moment in the Delta arc where Cecil handcuffed himself to the desk and ended the episode with "stay tuned for me talking to Carlos forever and ever."

if I wrote welcome to night vale all the plotlines would make sense. And all the characters would be consistent and they would come back at regular intervals so you could remember who they are. There would even be arcs that continue past June 15th. Sigh.

yeah, again this isn't something that SUPER bothers me, but because of everything else (my qualms) its really noticeable

In the newest episode Cecil mentions that he needs to hire a lawyer, but what about Danny Vaquero? They were such a good lawyer that they got Dana released when Lubelle tried to press phony charges against her! Surely they can learn witch-law!

(If you don't know the story, Danny was a fan in 2022-ish who pointed out that murder was legal when Dana killed her double, and the creators included them in an episode when they realized they'd messed up the continuity.)

Everyone draws Huntokar as this fearsome, imposing woman juggling the different realities of Night Vale and bending them to her whims. But I see her more as a little girl playing dolls. Night Vale is her playground and Cecil is her favorite toy. Isn’t that the same feeling? Playing as a little kid is like :you have these little dolls in your hands and you can do anything with them, change their outfits, send them on adventures, make up friends for them. You can even make multiple lives for them, different versions. When Huntokar gets bored, she can toss down her toys and leave them to their own devices; or, like a mean older brother, The Distant Prince can come and change their outfits, or throw them around the room. And hasn’t every kid put themself into a story with their toys, just like Huntokar met Cecil on the 12:37 train?

Huntokar is God. And, I don’t know, there’s just something profound and beautiful to me, the idea that God is a little girl.

Sometimes I think about how Bungo Baggins built this wonderful expansive hobbit-hole for him and Belladonna with all these rooms and everything but then they only ever had Bilbo, and then Bilbo inherited it but he never married and only ever had Frodo, and then Frodo inherited it but he lived alone and then it passed into the hands of the Sackville-Bagginses and through Lotho to Saruman and was defiled--but THEN! Frodo takes it back and brings Sam and Rosie and their family in, and then he leaves it to them and they FILL Bag End with all their thirteen children and it becomes the Ancestral Family Home for an entirely new family!! And that's just enriched by all the inheriting that happened to pass it through these generations of people who loved each other to GET it to Sam!

It's just...just because you may not know who or what you're building something for doesn't mean the building you've done is wasted effort.
