At this time, as winter sets in, the weather here is extremely cold, and the fierce winds have torn apart thousands of tents. We lack even the most basic means of warmth — no winter clothing, no blankets to shield us from the bitter cold. The adults shiver from the freezing temperatures; imagine what the children endure.

While families gather during these moments around dining tables filled with delicious food, sharing conversations and laughter, we are suffering here. And while others sit by heaters telling stories to their children, we are simply struggling to survive, desperately trying to keep our children and ourselves warm.

In Norway we celebrate christmas eve more than christmas day, so today is christmas for me. I’m writing this before our christmas dinner. I want to say it has been a good but tough year, and today I’m thinking of my friends in Gaza. It has been an honor and a gift to be allowed to help and be in contact with them, but terrifying to hear their stories and know how much danger they face every day. For the new year, I wish them safety and peace, and I hope that whatever holiday you celebrate, you can be willing to help them this year. That is my wish

Now, after the war, unfortunately, we lost everything. I lost my house in the blink of an eye, our company was burned and my husband lost his source of income. 💔💔😭😭😭😭😭Now we are homeless, moneyless, comfortable, happy and safe. The hardest thing is that I spent my pregnancy with my first child in the war. 😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺I cannot describe to you how much I suffered at that time, as there was no healthy food. I wished to find some food that would support me in my pregnancy and make my child’s health better, 💔😭🥺😭😭😭but unfortunately I did not find anything. I became anemic and clean water was not available. I had to drink contaminated water and eat contaminated food and suffered from kidney problems and I still suffer to this day, 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭and there was no medical care to follow up on my pregnancy. Then, I gave birth in the middle of the night under the bombing, 💔💔💔💔💔with shrapnel flying over our heads and tanks everywhere. My baby came and I couldn’t provide clothes or milk for him.
