Bowser's father: King Bernard, green and yellow color scheme like Bowser, unlike his children he doesn't have red hair they get that from their mother, he has green hair, similar Iggy's hair color Bowser and Indigo have his eyes though. Did what he felt was best for the kingdom, which was mostly letting Queen Cecilia do as she pleased for fear of her turning her wrath to his people

Name means strong as a bear

Bowser's mother: Queen Kauila, red hair and Indigo's blue colors, followed her husband's lead in letting Cecilia do whatever, mostly focused on her people and infant sons before her and her husband's deaths

Name is a reference to a Hawaiian mythological creature named Kauila

Peach's dad: King Juniper, Peach gets her blond hair and blue eyes from him, he was a cautious ruler, under his rule the mushroom Kingdom only had a few allies, those being Sarasaland, Dark Kingdom and the Boos. Under his daughter's reign the Mushroom Kingdom gained more allies, namely its neighbors the Flower Kingdom and Beanbean Kingdom. Peach also got her healing powers from Juniper

Name is a reference to Juniper berries

Peach's mom: Queen Prudence, much like her husband she was a cautious leader. Like Queen Kauila she preferred spending time with her subjects. She felt horrible about her husband allowing their closest allies (at the time) be attacked and massacred by Cecilia, her plan was to send them aid after her child was born but as she died due to complications during Peach's birth she never got the chance to help, the last thing she ever got to do was name her newborn daughter.

Name means cautious

The incident that lead to Bernard and Kauila's deaths was Cecilia wanting to annex land from the Dark Kingdom and she also wanted an artifact from the Koopa royal family, the wand Dark Kingdom rulers had from the Kingdom's beginnings.

The reason she wanted the wand is because it actually works well with the royal Boo artifact, the gem that rested in her crown and later went on to one of the Boo leaders, King (dark moon King Boo). The wand was actually the invention of the first ruler of the Dark Kingdom, it allowed for Koopas to learn and use magic, how it and all wands work is by siphoning naturally produced magic that lingers around the world of the Mushroom Kingdom. The gem does a similar thing, siphons magic from the world but instead of allowing it to be used and wielded for spells, it pumps the siphoned magic directly into the Boo ruler to power up their abilities. It's supposed to be for the rulers whose powers are too weak to be helpful to their Boos but Cecilia just wanted more power so used the gem despite not needing it. It drove her mad, made her already tyrannical rule over the Boos worse. Already overworked and growing tired of the mad queen they weren't pleased when she began giving them more work by annexing lands and causing the Boos more work to maintain the new lands. When Bernard and Kauila refused to give Cecilia the wand and a large portion of their land she decided to try and take the land and wand through force by invading the Dark Kingdom with her army. She only got the land albeit temporarily thanks to the Koopa queen's quick thoughts when the attack on their land started. Kauila gave the wand to Kammy to hide it somewhere Cecilia would not find it while Bernard attempted to get help from the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser and Indigo weren't even named at that point, newborns in a castle under attack, it was a miracle they were not harmed. They had no appointed regent at the time so the nobility of other kingdoms used that to force a ten year old Bowser to be crowned king over having a childhood. With Peach's father refusing to send aid the king and queen of the Dark Kingdom unfortunately died in the attack, with Kauila being decapitated in the hallway outside the room where her infant sons were crying due to the chaos and Bernard being thrown out a window into the lava surrounding the kingdom. Bernard did not stick around to rule the kingdom until his eldest son was ready was because he was in too much of a dazed state after his death, a few of the Boos lead him to the land of the dead so he could have time to process everything and wait for his wife to arrive.

After the siege the Boos had enough of their queen taking more and more from others, so there was a revolution. They stormed the Boo queen's home and overthrew her, with the aid of the other residents of the land of the dead Cecilia was locked away in the lower city. The revolutionaries took to governing until a new monarch arose and could rule instead. They rebuilt the relationship with the Dark Kingdom while both the Boos and Dark Kingdom's relationship with the Mushroom Kingdom crumbled. To avenge the fallen rulers the revolutionaries made Juniper disappear leaving Peach orphaned as her mother died in childbirth. The Koopas and Boos saw it as an eye for an eye, Peach's father left Bernard and his wife to die because Juniper feared Cecilia's forces would advance on his kingdom while Prudence was due to give birth at any time so they left the newborn princess the same start Indigo and Bowser had. At the time it felt right but it left Peach with the same issue as Bowser, being a ruler from a young age without a childhood, it was much to late to do anything by the time the Boos realized they shouldn't have made the one remaining monarch of the Mushroom Kingdom vanish without a trace

In the land of the dead Bernard and Juniper grew to hate each other while Kauila and Prudence got along well, Bernard told Peach's dad that if he had helped both of their kids would've had at least one parent and Juniper hated being reminded that he made a really stupid decision. At some point their hate turned to a moderate dislike of one other, would rather not be in the same room but will be civil with each other.

Bowser retired from kidnapping the princess and devoted his time to raising Bowser Jr with love and care. They moved to a quaint house in the Mushroom Kingdom where they shared a lot of quality time and learning experiences. Bowser's sister even came to visit.

I DECIDED to redesign Bowser and Betty's parents in my AU.

And heres a little story about them.

In a once divided kingdom, the Koopas lived under various clans, each led by powerful leaders. Morton Koopa, the leader of the Koopa Clan, was a formidable and feared warrior known for his brute strength. Olivia Koopa, head of the other Koopas Clan, was a powerful sorceress renowned for her strategic intelligence. The two clans found themselves at war over control of resource-rich lands, and it was amidst a fierce battle that Morton and Olivia first met.

As the war threatened to destroy both clans, the elders decided to end the conflict through an arranged marriage between Morton and Olivia, a common practice among the Koopas to seal alliances. Though reluctant, Morton and Olivia accepted the decision, understanding their responsibilities. Despite the absence of great love between the two, they developed a deep affection and mutual respect over time.

Of course, from this union was born Bowser and Betty. They were their pride and joy. Bowser, with his fiery temperament and fierce desire to prove his strength, and Betty, gentle and thoughtful, perfectly completed the royal family.

One day Olivia and Morton announced to their children that they had to leave for an important royal meeting. Bowser and Betty were young at that time.

Hours passed and night fell, but Olivia and Morton never returned. The rumors says that on their way back, they had been ambushed by a band of traitors. Despite their bravery, they could not survive the attack.

The loss of their parents was a tremendous shock for Bowser and Betty. Overwhelmed by pain and anger, Bowser swore to protect the kingdom. Betty, though devastated, found the strength to support her brother, reminding him of the values and wisdom their parents had instilled in them.

so instead of get back into art after the basic recovery of my surgery, I instead replayed Mario and Luigi Partners in Time…and why does nobody talk about this game?? Hardly ever see it in the Super Mario tag. Like. It’s actually insane how dark it gets. People die. Like actually die. Not as dark as SPM but like we see the dead spirits of Toads get siphoned through tubes. They had their life force sucked out of them via genetically modified trees. Yoshis were eaten by a larger alien Yoshi and were gonna be turned into more alien Yoshis via a factory IN THE GIANT ALIEN YOSHI. We see a town that’s literally just “Christmas is Cancelled” the city. Their mayor probably died. We never see these places restored because there are no survivors to restore them. The citizens of Hollijolli village probably all died by the time the bros shut down the Vim factory. And also there’s the entire scene with the Star Gate. Like. Hello??

maybe I’ll stream or let’s play this game and share it here because I think. More ppl should talk about Partners in Time. I’ll say it too: I like it more than Bowser’s Inside Story. By like a LOT. That’s my ramble for the night. Ttyd day tomorrow. Yippee
