There’s a lot B-127 doesn’t know

He’s been down in sub-level 50 for Primus knows how long, so it’s certainly plausible that B doesn’t know certain words. By the Pits- B probably doesn’t even know what certain Cybertronian traditions are! Or even what there’re called (and probably even more-). He’s been down there that long.

Some words that he might have no clue of are:

Conjunx

Engex

Berth (there were nothing to sleep in down there)

Any vulgar words

Shanix (there’s no need for it down at sub-level 50)

Examine

Medical terms

Most likely emotional terms aswell

Sometimes B has to stop and remember what a certain items name is. But so far hes had no reason to, so he hasn’t had to ask anyone of what something is.

I imagine that he only knows certain word thanks to the data-pads that were thrown down to waste disposal. Although that doesn’t change the fact that many of those data-pads didn’t explain things such as a “Trine” or anything else. (Those are common terms to the regular Cybertronian, there’s no need for anyone to explain what they are)

But the word that I’ll focus on today is: Leader.

B-127 has heard of it, but not what it means. He ment to ask- he really did! But everyone got swept up with work and he found he couldn’t really find the time to ask.

So he guessed what it meant. And what did he think it meant?

A friend who many people knew and took advice from.

Did he confirm this? No. But did it sure look like one? Yes.

So he supposes Ori- Optimus and D-16 (or Megatron-?) will have to find themselves a new leader to help work through their troubles! And he’d be more than happy to help them, after all their all best friends aren’t they?

And best friends always have each others backs.

B just needs to find a way for them to talk to each other without fighting… Then they can finally all work together to rebuild Iacon together!

cult jokes are a symptom of and contribute to the simultaneous sensationalizing of cults (cults are all dark cloaks and animal sacrifices and devil worship and group suicide and despicable/unhinged beliefs) and diminishing of cults ("uwu come join my CULT XD we're gonna make cookies and WORSHIP SATAN teehee"), but i'm realizing how they go so hand-in-hand with the mindset of "only ~stupid/evil/crazy/etc.~ people could possibly join a cult. if it were me i would simply not fall for cult propaganda."

the diminishing part means that people don't take you seriously if you say you're an ex cult member or talk about your experiences in a cult or believe you are a current victim of a cult, because cults are just silly little groups that have weird beliefs but are otherwise innocuous. the sensationalizing part means people will also not take you seriously because if it was Actually a cult cult, that does harm and has evil beliefs, you should've known better because any reasonable person would have seen through it. the other side of "only an [xyz] person joins a cult" is "i am not an [xyz] person so i will never join a cult or be victim to propaganda and other cult tactics." the other side of "if it were me i would simply not fall for propaganda" is "someone falling for propaganda is fully a choice and a personal failing on their part." and combined they make: if you were [xyz] enough to join a cult and fall for propaganda, that means you deserved it.

people who would never make jokes about any other kind of abuse but feel perfectly fine making cult jokes used to kind of baffle me, because why is joking about personal abuse a problem but large-scale/group abuse is fine? why is it suddenly funny when you're the one that wants to perpetuate the abuse? but if your belief around cults is: "your experience wasn't that bad [diminishing], and if it was that bad [sensationalizing] it was your own fault and personal failing [i would simply not fall for propaganda], which means you deserved what you went through [only stupid/evil/crazy/etc people join cults]" and you don't understand how cults or cult tactics work, cult survivors/victims probably feel like a fair target for jokes (they are not, to be clear).

I had a nice talk with @teriiblog about my aokabu being married fic, and although we got kabu's hand placement wrong in our excitement, it still got me thinking: what if, after aokabu got married, kabu changed his battle pose by laying his left hand (with his wedding ring on!) over his heart, instead of his right one (which showed the galar league symbol on his glove)? It could become a way for kabu to show his devotion for larry, even if they could still live in their respective regions after tying the knot? 😭💖

Kabu could keep this very same battle pose, just that he'll exchange his right hand over his left one! 🥺🥺🥺 the galar league might not mind it too, especially if this change in kabu's pose takes place in leon's leadership! 💗

in love with both the roleswap ficlet you have as well as Utopia. im curious, what are your thoughts/hopes with rin? i feel like she always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to fics and id love to hear anything about her from you

I do have a soft spot for characters who haunt the narrative - who create an empty space so tangible that the void is its own character. When Obito and Kakashi stood in the same room in Utopia, I always considered the imprint she left on them as a third character. Not Rin herself - just how she damaged them. I think it's heartwarmingly toxic yaoi how Kakashi stole Obito's personality, so I decided that Kakashi actually stole the erotic novels from Rin. She was a superfan of bodice ripper steamy romance novels, as it turns out.

You have to make up your own personality for Rin. So I made decisions as an author about writing her for the roleswap. I wanted her to be the Naruto figure - the leader, the glue who held everybody together, the one who was very smart about people. She was just as stubborn and fiercely smart as the boys, but because her genius was in noncombat arts it was overlooked. The idealist and optimist, who hoped so genuinely for a better world. One where she could protect the people she loved. I think Rin loved far, far too much. She and the boys were thrown into insanely traumatic situations far too young, and as a result I think they developed a codependent trauma bond that resulted in over-emotional reliance and falling in desperate teenage love with each other.

As we all know, in Naruto these traits are the recipe for either the greatest hero or the most insane supervillain in the series. The most dangerous person in Naruto is the person who loves too much, who believes in a better world where peace and love and happiness can reign, and who has the power to make it a reality. The person who's lost everything, and as such has nothing to lose.

I don't think one little sword and seal can kill a jinchuuriki.

Yeah, Rin plays a major role in the AU lmfao. Personally, I support women's wrongs. As does Kakashi. #feminisminnaruto

That part where grusha held the baby had me wondering; what if HE WAS A PARENT?? How would it go? How’s his parenting? I’ve got soooo many questions abt this 😭😭

OOOOOO I LOOOVED THIS ASK. I went a little crazy with it heh. The whole time I was imagining Grusha as a PTA parent. I know he takes that shit SO serious.

Grusha As A Dad

- As awkward as he is with other people’s kids, Grusha is much more natural with his own child. Before they come into his life, whether it's through adoption, surrogacy, or you, he takes time to prepare himself for fatherhood as much as humanly possible. There is no way to be completely prepared to raise a child. Things like that rarely go by the book, but that doesn’t mean he won’t try everything to be the best he can be. You frequently catch him asleep on the couch, a half-read parenting book in his lap.

- When the day finally comes for him to meet his little one, he can’t help how his hands tremble. Gently, as if they’re made of glass, he cradles them against his chest and breathes a small sigh of relief as they gurgle and curl further into his hold. While it may seem silly, Grusha has an irrational fear that they would be disappointed that he was their father. As if an infant would look him in the eyes and voice complaints that a failure of a snowboarder and Gym Leader has become their father.

- Grusha would prefer to be a stay-at-home father. He can be a bit of a helicopter parent, though it is nice that he’s taken such an active role in parenting. You never worried that Grusha would leave you as the sole, sleep-deprived provider. He’s not that kind of man. However, you’re sure you would be the envy of every disgruntled wife on daytime television. A part of you is a little jealous. You have a daddy’s girl/boy in the making. A bigger part of you feels your heart swell knowing your baby will grow up with enough love to power all of Paldea.

- When they finally say their first word, it’s your title instead of papa like Grusha was silently hoping for. He gets a little butthurt about it. His pouting is as cute as his disgruntled whine while you tease him about it.

- He’s a tad competitive with other parents regarding his kid’s milestones. Oh, your baby just started talking? His child was doing that weeks ago! He becomes a bit of a menace on social media. 75% of his posts are humble brags about how awesome his kid is, 20% are pictures of you, and the final 5% revolve around his Gym.

- When your kid is old enough to go to school, he spends most of the first day moping around the house. Without his little buddy around, he isn’t sure what to do with himself. He’s spent the past few years watching cartoons, playing with blocks, and engaging a very imaginative toddler in pretend games. What’s he supposed to do now? It doesn’t take him long to get back into the groove of things, especially with your support. For however much you worry about your kid at school, Grusha is somehow worrying ten times worse. As they grow older, Grusha bonds with them by teaching them how to style and take care of their hair before school. It doesn’t matter what gender your kid is, either way, they love their dad’s long hair. In their younger years, they are happy to emulate him. Their first haircut in their teens is going to shatter Grusha just a bit, though he’s tearfully supportive.

- If his kid expresses interest in snowboarding, he’s conflicted. Logically, he wants to support them however he can, and he can’t help but feel a small surge of joy at the thought. He remembers the thrill well. Emotionally, he wants to keep them far, far away from the sport. In the end, his fear wins out, and he forbids them from it. This results in their first big fight, leaving you to pick up the pieces. You tell your kid that he’s not angry at them, he’s scared. You’ll talk to him. Then, you find Grusha and tell him that he’s being an idiot. He can’t stop them. You both were that age, you know good and well if it’s something they want to do, they’re going to do it. Wouldn’t it be better to be sure they're safe about it? Grusha will argue that all the training in the world won’t save them from being unlucky. You say maybe so, but what would he do if, in an act of rebellion, they sneak up the mountain with his old board, completely untrained? He caves after that.

- Grusha can’t be their snowboarding coach. He knows himself well enough that he would end up worrying himself into an early grave. He can, however, coach them in battling if that’s something they want to do. If there ever comes a day when they take on the Gym Challenge, and they find themself at his Gym, he won’t hold back. No favoritism here. If anything, he’s going harder than he would his other opponents. When they defeat him, he couldn’t be prouder.

i think when it comes to fiction there's an important distinction to be made between approaching with in-world logic and out-world logic. and out-world logic is all well and good, because you can examine the text from a different angle and explore some of the issues that it doesn't address, and sometimes the nitpicky stuff is genuinely fun and silly!! except most of the time you can't use out-world logic on every aspect of the story because then it stops making any sense. and sometimes i think fandom needs a better grasp of this concept

Seeing Celia freeze in shock, a cruel part of him was glad, to be assured that with just a few words he could still metaphorically lay Celia bare, strip away all of the stone walls and bravado, and leave behind a scared child, even after all these years.

Golden eyes were wide, the white fully surrounding. Bright pupils were growing larger, threatening to drown out the narrowing ring of gold.

Its a secret so few know that those pinpricks growing to even half the size of a normal pupil is an indicator of true fear, whereas the usual pinpricks is normal. To those who knew her younger, they think it just changed over time to be smaller, but the truth is she's in many ways conquered her old fears, and those that have taken their place are a slow constant fear, about larger factors. Celia doesn't worry that she will get physically attacked from any side. these days, its the era of mind games instead.

It was always interesting, Celias eyes. More normal than black in place of white, but those metallic eyes and bright pinprick pupils were unsettling to him even more. At first glance, human, second, anything but. Celia- of heaven, according to some old Latin books, derived from a surname meaning the same.

It was easy to see her as something other, even holy, but no benevolent god could create a soldier like her. Those who called her brother an angel were just as misguided, but the veneer of kindness and comfort that made it easy to ignore Cecios' terrifying power over people and see him as holy was lacking in his sister, who they viewed with fear, no seemingly benevolent and gracious angel but an awesome- in the most classical sense of the word- leader of man, set apart from the rest with an unsettling aura of difference. A far cry from the little girl Amelia so reminds him of. Elena was the seemingly godlike one, inspiring awe and fear, then. Celia was just another scrapper desperate to prove her worth in the eyes of her peer, and oh, how desperate she was.

It's the most likely reason why, why he can disable her like this, bypass years of walls. Because he was there before those walls became impenetrable, before she stepped up and shut everyone else out. Some lingering memories of him as her superior, in their childish hierarchy, instincts to listen to him, still dormant inside her.

For every time she learned to put up a higher and stronger wall, he had learned how to bring it crashing down.

It's the same cruel part of him that whispers it, but she truly is his greatest success, rising from the bottom to new heights - all with him by her side advising her.
