Hey idk if you write for Grusha, but I really like the way you write! Could I ask for some relationship headcanons for Grusha with a Galarian s/o (who confessed to Grusha in true Galarian fashion, giving him an Applin.)? Its okay if not though :>

Are you kidding me! I love this so much! I have been WAITING for someone to request Grusha, so i thank you for this adorable request! To add an extra little bit of cuteness i am giving you a shiny Applin because he deserves it! I also sprinkled in some general head cannons in there.

Grusha Relationship Headcannons | Galarian Reader

Let’s get the Applin thing out the way first: When you presented the Applin to him, he was EXTREMELY confused, why are you giving him a grass/dragon Pokemon? But when he sees your flushed face looking away from him with your arms extended out to him with the little green Applin - The gears start turning.

Then it clicks, you are confessing to him! Finally remembering you are from Galar and not Paldea dude turns bright red. He’d read up on some of the Galarian customs to make you feel more at home in this new region and he did find out about the Applin confession. Though usually the Applin was red. Did you find a shiny one just for him?

This man is speechless, he literally cannot utter a word over his own shaking breath, But he will take the Applin once he’s back down on earth again. And he is not letting the lil guy go.

He is cold all of the time. Even when away from his gym, he is cold. It could be the middle of summer on a beach and he’s there in a winter coat, fuzzy hat and gloves. And yes, he has bought you both matching scarfs, even if you don’t wear it, if you just have it that's enough for him.

Speaking of matching scarfs, you also have matching gloves, hats, warmers, anything. For some reason he just loves matching with you. That reason? Because I said so. That being said he’s also an opposite kinda guy too. If he’s wearing white, you’re in black and vice versa. Essentially its: Colours = Matching, Shades = Opposites.

Will not take you snowboarding unless you practically beg him to take you, or you already did snowboarding or any other winter sports before meeting him. You getting hurt is the last thing he ever wants to happen, so expect him to dot on you alot.

Grusha worries about you ALL OF THE TIME. If you are not in the same room as him, he worries. He is by no means possessive of you, he just cares so much about you that he tends to come off as clingy.

PDA is a no to him. He does not like being touched in public, he can’t explain it, he will rub your arms if you get too cold or give you his scarf though so don’t worry about any cute form of affection like that. 

In private though, kisses, hugs, cuddles, dancing, laughing you name it. Privacy is his thing.

Speaking on privacy, your relationship didn’t get announced until you were closing in on your 1 year anniversary. Thanks to his fame as a gym leader and a snowboarder, his personal life is something he doesn’t get to have.

You are the only thing he has left to keep him grounded so please let him keep you to himself whilst he still can. Before the Media gets they’re grubby paws on you.

The first time he visits your home region is when your relationship goes public. Raihan ain’t about to let this go unposted!

Jealousy is a difficult thing for him. Not because it makes him difficult but because he doesn’t exactly… experience it. When Grusha sees you uncomfortable or someone invading your personal space, he doesn’t go into jealous boyfriend mode, he goes to protective boyfriend mode. Asking if you are okay, if you need anything, if you want to go somewhere, if you want him to leave ect ect. He may not even register that the other party is even there at all.

When he met Leon it was an… interesting experience to say the least. Leon legit spent the first hour of your meeting walking into everything because he was so busy asking Grusha questions about Paldea. Surprisingly enough, Leon is one of the few people from Galar he keeps in contact with. The others being Piers, Melony and Milo.

The only time he ever showed visible irritation was to Raihan. Leon’s questioning didn’t bother him at all, Raihan’s constant social presents however? That got under his skin.

If it wasn’t for the fact you were with him; when Raihan announced your relationship on live he almost punched him. Dude just revealed the most important detail of his personal life to most of the Galar region and new spreads FAST! Things are gonna boil up in him but, instead Grusha just gives him the cold shoulder for the rest of the trip's duration. They have made up since but he still won’t talk to Raihan unless he absolutely has to.

Sleep. He sleeps all the time. If he isn’t training, talking to the media, battling, or spending time with you. This man can be found sprawled out on his stomach, one arm under his head, the other dangling of the bed, legs in some kind of cross pose on the bed, hair a mess

He is an indoor person when it comes to personal time. Grusha spends so much of it outside; being able to lay back on the sofa with you encased in his arms, warming up by the fire is his ideal pass time. 

Cannot cook for anything. He will set the oven on fire and most likely burn his hands trying to put it out. Baking on the other hand now THAT is something he can do. Rika still hasn’t forgiven him for beating her at a gingerbread contest.

He didn’t confess first but he did say I love you first. This man didn;t even realise he had even said it, he was so in the zone just admiring what was happening and boom he said it and now he matches a cherish ball. 

Sleep schedule, what's that? Grusha sleep is completely random. He could be up at 4am and asleep at 12am: Or he's asleep by 10am and awake at 3am the next morning. Sometimes he sleeps for 3 hours, sometimes 15 hours. It's honestly a game trying to guess how long he’ll be out for.

With that said however, he is NEVER late to anything important. Whether that be a day out with you, a gym challenge, a meeting. Sometimes though, if he’s in a bad mood that day he will be late on purpose. 

Sour food is his enemy, his sour tolerance is in the negatives, he might actually die if you gave him toxic wastes so for your sake and his stomach please don’t. 

Hand kisser, that is how he greets you, says goodbye, randomly shows affection. Grusha will lift your hand up, lower his scarf if he’s wearing it and gently kiss the back of your hand then won’t say anything after.

Not a note leaver. If you are asleep and he needs to go, he is waking you up to tell you he is going and that he loves you. “No piece of paper is worthy of his love for you.” At least that's how Tulip put it.

Athletic as hell, he snowboards for Arceus sake! He’s gotta have some athletic ability. Grusha’s climbing ability is honestly scary. This man could give Sneasler a run for its money

Grusha <3

Grusha is honestly pretty normal when it comes to his mornings

He likes to stick to a set routine, but he doesn't freak out if he sleeps in or needs to shuffle things around

Wakes up at 7am every morning and tumbles out of bed in a giant hoodie with a rattatas nest for hair

Boils the jug for his coffee and feeds his Cetitan, trying stay quiet enough that he doesn't wake you

Once you do wakes up, Grusha is drinking his coffee on the couch and has already prepared a hot drink for you too

He might already be on his second coffee but you don't need to know that

You're more than welcome to snuggle up with him on the couch, enjoying your drink as whatever sport he's watching plays in the background

When it's time to start getting ready for the day he'll be very appreciative of help taming his bed hair

Sit him down on the ground in front of you while you're on the couch so you're comfy while brushing it

"You can put a braid in if you really want... But only a small one."

You'll be there a while, but he's already worked that into the morning schedule

Other than that, he really doesn't take long to get ready and after a few good bye kisses Grusha will be out the door

Raihan <3

Raihan basically sleeps on top of you

There's no need for a weighted blanket when your boyfriend is basically a living one

You'd best be prepared to be stuck in bed for a while too, because if it's not gym challenge season there's no way he's waking up before 11am

And once he does wake up he needs at least an hour minimum to doomscroll on his rotom phone in bed

He does it while still lying on top of you, naturally

If you desperately need help to get him out of bed, flygon can be convinced to help

The dragon pokemon is happy to get all up in Raihans business and help roll him off you

Once Raihan finally makes it out of bed, he wanders into the kitchen wearing only what he sleeps in

Aka his briefs

He'll ask if you like the view while he cooks you guys brunch

"Feel free to take a photo, babe, it'll last longer."

Raihan's happy to take the mornings with you nice and slow while he can

And that includes plenty of pictures of you two and more than one 'outfit of the day' post

We have a total insomniac over here

N falls asleep very late at night and wakes up very early in the morning, but he'll stay in bed the whole time you're sleeping

On the morning he wakes before the sun comes up and knows he won't be able to fall asleep again he'll grab a book

With a soft bedside lamp on, zoroark half on his lap, and you by his side he's more than happy to read the morning away

He's the type of softy to brush hair away from your face as you sleep

Should you wake up early with him, then he'll open up the curtains in your room so you can both watch the sunrise from bed

Pulls you into his chest and wraps both of your shoulders in another blanket too

As usual, N's zoroark joins in with any cuddling going on and is a very welcome heat source in winter

He's in no rush to get out of bed, but once you're up for the day so is he

N always starts off his morning with breakfast, but I feel like he's a cold breakfast person

He'll cook for you though if he knows you like a hot breakfast

If you're not a breakfast person he'll also low-key guilt you into eating something for your own good

"Eating is a non negotiable, love. Now, do you want me to make you some toast?"

— ♥ the incident of his career hadn’t just affected him physically, a mental toll was in state along with it including his bit of possessiveness for you.

— ♥ he can’t help it. after all, you’re on his list of most cherished. and as cheesy as it sounds, he’d hate losing someone so precious to him as he’d lost his occupation.

— ♥ so when he sees this person shamelessly hitting on you, of course he’s going to step in and say something.

— ♥ glaseado mountain has a few forms. sometimes calm, sometimes sharp and unforgiving as if mad at the people climbing its skin. grusha’s cold persona towards the person embodied that.

— ♥ would probably threaten to pokémon battle. just because he’s an ice type gym leader doesn’t mean that he’ll just have ice type pokémon on hand every time, so he’d most likely use varieties including those you’ve traded with him.

— ♥ he’ll be levelheaded as much as he can until the other person initiates a snap or an aggressive show, but either way in the end he’ll definitely come up to you and ask if you’re okay.

— ♥ expect a brief hug after, and maybe a few kisses or two. he’s not too big on pda, especially if some people come by to watch him battle and he’s waiting for the area to clear up.

— ♥ but the best part is him being in denial about being clingy afterwards. that’s when teasing him is essential.

— ❀ he’s the type to be suspicious and accusatory first, ask later.

— ❀ will cross his arms and be sassy. maybe something like, “is this person bothering you, (y/n)? i can deal with ‘em.”

— ❀ when he’s jealous he’s obvious. he’ll pull you in more, scowl and throw sarcastic comments at the other person, and he’ll suggest to go somewhere else.

— ❀ WILL throw in a regular pokemon challenge to the other if it gets to that point. like might as well make it a tradition or smth to go up to someone and challenge them whenever lmao ,, wait that already happens

— ❀ arven would also grasp onto your arm or sleeve subconsciously, afterwards backing away and apologizing after the person’s gone for just grabbing your arm.

— ❀ “i hate it when people just keep persisting on someone even when they’re obviously taken…” arven would sigh, “…but hey, it means you’re hot stuff if people keep coming to take you away from me!”

— ❀ then he’d offer to go on a picnic or something, whatever you’d like. he’s just glad that you’re there with him, no matter what.

— ☾ the other person isn’t gonna take jacq seriously. i mean, he does look like he just woke up, with his laid back attitude and ruffled clothing. but the charm in it was something you could admire, and clearly the other person didn’t see that.

— ☾ he’s a lil irritated. not just because this person’s competing against him, but also because they have a solid chance.

— ☾ they looked better and dressed better, they were smooth with talking, and in no way did jacq feel as if he could compete properly against them.

— ☾ you seemed to sense his thoughts, holding his hand comfortingly. his heart, as if a weight was pushed off of it, immediately lightened.

— ☾ THEN he had the confidence to say some things. and after you both left the scene, a semi-heartbroken person left behind, he’d kiss you on the forehead thanking you for everything.

— ☾ sure, it was just a small scenario that doesn’t hold much significance in one’s eye. but it strengthened your relationship in the end, and as dorky as it seems, it mattered.

— ☾ jacq’s a good person. he just needs you there to remind him of it. give him one compliment and he’ll pay back tenfold.

Grusha Headcanons

I am working on some fics for various fandoms but I wanted to share some headcanons for my favorite gen 9 gym leader. Please don't take these too seriously--I just wanna be creative.

Grusha's love language is quality time. After becoming his friend, he likes when you use your free days to sit outside the gym and watch his battles. The mountain gets lonely, so when Grusha gets closer to you, he asks you to snowboard/ski with him.

Grusha still makes time to snowboard but is self-critical about himself since he cannot ride with the same skill/intensity as before the accident.

He uses his scarf to hide his emotions. He hides his frustration for his snowboarding or a lost battle, just as he hides his flushed cheeks when he is around you.

Grusha keeps his hair long because long hair is popular with the other snowboarders. Plus, he thinks it makes him look cool. (He is so pretty.) His natural hair color is brown but he finds it to be plain, so he dyes it a light blue with his yellow and dark blue accents.

Conveniently, Grusha always seems to pick the day before your visits to make sure to touch up his roots. He often catches a flying cab to Alfornada to have Tulip help with the dye.

Grusha’s Cetitan will force its way free from its pokéball to prevent Grusha from wiping out on the slopes.

Grusha has a charming smile, but he doesn’t show it often, usually only letting out a small smirk. He sometimes lets his full smile shine when making a good play in battle or receiving an unexpected compliment.

He lives in an apartment above the sushi place in Montenevera. While he admires his elder gym leader, Ryme’s concerts occasionally keep him awake.

Warm light bathed the room as the soft crackles of the fireplace broke the silence. You sat curled up in the corner of the couch with a book, waiting for Grusha to come home.

Snow was coming down in thick flakes outside the window as you heard the front door give a soft click.

You smiled and turned to see your boyfriend coming home from a long day at the gym, a multitude of snowflakes littering his sky-blue hair.

Grusha shuffled about the foyer shedding his heavy winter gear, and the sagging slouch of his shoulders told you that it had been a long day indeed.

He simply plopped down on the couch next to you with a huff.

You closed your book and set it on the coffee table then reached over and squeezed his hand, rubbing your thumb soothingly over his knuckles. He squeezed back lightly, his icy fingers clinging to the warmth of your palm.

“Long day?” you opened your arms and leaned back on the arm of the couch.

“Something like that.” he mumbled and immediately accepted the silent invitation, melting into your arms and laying his head on your chest.

You wrapped your arms around him, lightly tracing soothing lines on his back.

“Wanna talk about it?”

He closed his eyes and sighed deeply, listening to the steady thudding of your heartbeat.

“There was a rude interviewer at the gym today… it was like she was purposefully trying to get under my skin with her questions.”

You simply hummed in acknowledgement, running your hands through his silky blue locks, massaging his scalp. His chest rumbled against yours as he made a noise of approval, melting further under your fingers.

“Mmm that’s annoying…”

“I held my tongue so she never got the reaction she was obviously trying to get, but it was still aggravating.”

You continued to chat casually about menial things, the words seemed to flow as naturally as breathing.

Grusha could feel his sour mood melt away with every passing word, your sweet voice always put him at ease.

The usually cool and collected gym leader was like soft putty in your hands as soon as he felt your loving touch. You were his cozy hearth he longed to return to after every draining day at work.

In your arms, he was home.

He would never admit that to anyone but you. It’s you who is his greatest weakness, the loving warmth that melted his icy exterior.

“...oh and a little girl asked me if I was a prince today.”

You giggled, “What did you say?”

“I told her I was, but she had to keep my identity a secret.” he smiled gently as he recounted the scene.

His big dark blue eyes and long fluttering eyelashes gazed up at you, quietly admiring the smile on your face.

“Well she’s right y’know, ‘cuz you’re my super-duper handsome prince charming.” you spoke with an sickeningly sweet tone and made a sappy kissy face dramatically as you spoke.

He simply scoffed and rolled his eyes but the lovestruck smile on his face never left.

Eventually as the conversation dwindled he stopped responding, his breaths growing slow and steady as he dozed off, the exhaustion finally catching up to him.

You simply smiled and pressed a kiss to the top of his head, stroking his hair softly as the fireplace crackled gently in the background.

“Rest well, my lovely prince.”

Hey how would nemona,penny and 1of the gym people react to reader pulling the stunt ash did with Mewtwo but with another pokemon? sure they save said pokemon but that doesn't mean they didn't go injury free I'm talking broken legs to needing stitches and a body cast.

You Get Seriously Injured

Nemona

Just because she can be reckless, doesn't mean you can

When Nemona hears about what happened to you, she can't process the information at first

Once she does, she immediately rushes to where you're being treated, her heart racing

Nemona is told that your injuries are really serious, a broken leg and the fact that you need a lot of stitches

Her loud personality disappears in an instant when she hears this, and she feels like she can't breath

It feels like time slows down as she sits in the waiting room

Finally, when she's allowed to see you, Nemona isn't sure she's ready to find out what state you're in

Seeing you laying unconscious in a hospital bed makes her want to cry

There's a cast on your arm and a bandage wrapped around a large portion of your leg

She remains silent as she sits by your hospital bed, holding your hand with a frown on her face

She stays with you until you wake up

When you do, she starts lecturing you on how you should be more careful, and how worried she was about your safety

You can see the tears in her eyes as she speaks

Finally, she allows herself to cry as she gently pulls you into a hug, careful not to cause you any pain

Penny

Penny is terrified when she hears the news of what happened to you

She doesn't say anything, but there are tears welling up in her eyes as she rushes to see you

It makes her even more worried when the nurse tells her you're in surgery

She can barely think as she takes a seat in one of the waiting room chairs

She can barely breathe as she waits to be told any news about your condition

Finally, after what feels like forever she's allowed to see you

Seeing your leg wrapped in a cast makes her worry even more, despite her relief that you're still alive

She sits next to your hospital bed, hoping you'll wake up soon

Once you do, she almost starts crying tears of joy

She silently hugs you, just glad to see you open your eyes

When someone runs up to him in his gym, he wasn't expecting to hear the news that you had been so injured

He immediately makes his way to the hospital, his thoughts jumbled and his head filled with worry

He finally makes it to the hospital where you were being treated, trying not to have a breakdown

When he's finally allowed to see you, he almost can't hold in the things he's feeling

He sits by your bed for who knows how long until you finally wake up

He can't help but stare at the cast on your arm, wishing he had been there to keep you safe

When you finally wake up, he doesn't cry, but he wants to

He simply talks to you, making sure he wasn't dreaming, that you were still alive

You can take protective Grusha for my cold dead hands.

My absolute favorite head Cannon to write is that You were there for Grusha after his accident, depressed at the lowest point in his life, healing over injuries and going to physical therapy, and that's why he's so protective over you. He doesn't like how needy he is for you, but he can't help but feel the poison in his heart and overall uneasiness when he doesn't know where you are.

What if something were to happen to you?

Especially when you're with other people. Especially if it's people he doesn't know or you just met. It's not that he doesn't trust you. He trusts you with his life. It's other people that he doesn't trust.

Add a reader who is a little bit of a pushover doormat in the mix and you got a storm.

Grusha, either your boyfriend or someone who's crushing on you, being your scary dog privilege, noticing a guy practically undressing you with his eyes. And when that same guy looks up, he sees death's gaze staring into his soul. If looks could kill, that man would have an icy grave.

Grusha never asks for affection out loud even though he secretly craves it. He may seem grumpy and asking you what are you doing but he never stops you ever in fact he's so quick to ask why you stopped.

Constantly watching you. When you two are on dates or just doing something like grocery shopping together, his eyes are watching your every movement. You're his muse and he doesn't want to miss seeing something that can spark his inspiration.

Likes to go to museums with you. Museum dates are something he always likes. And when he travels due to Gym Leader business, he's sure to take you with (if you want to, it's fine if you don't), but he's going to show you other museums in other locations.

Grusha

Wants to go snowboarding with you a lot. He's unable to do it professionally due to his injury, but he's happy to go on a date where he snowboards with you. There're some bittersweet moments with him while snowboarding, but he assures you that he is very happy to have these moments with you.

Grusha tries to seem like he has things together when he's with you. He's actually rather stressed out, but he doesn't like you seeing that side of him. Pull aside and hug him and he'll give the deepest sigh of relief because he really needed the hug.

Not the most emotional person. His scarf hides his face, so you really only have his eyes to tell you how he's feeling. But even with his emotions not really on his sleeves, he always gives you the softest looks.

Hassel

Lots of soft music playing throughout his house. Or even when you visit his classroom at the school, there's some soft music in the background. Even though he didn't go into music, he still very much loves it still.

Remembers lots of things about you too. Knows exactly what drinks you like and how you like to eat certain foods. Anytime he notices you're a bit stress or anxious, he's there with a comfort item he remembers you mentioning.

You get to witness his grumbling when he's doing schoolwork and he ends up smearing ink or pencil on his hand because he's left-handed. Just little pouts on his face because he thought he was careful this time. It's very adorable.

Larry

He is so tired and overworked all the time. And he's not going to hide his tired appearance from you. He won't complain (too much) in front of you, but he's not going to try and seem like he has his crap together in front of you all the time.

Real big on staying home and hanging out. He doesn't mind if you want to go out and do something, but he prefers staying home and relaxing. Doesn't mind doing typical house husband stuff either. Yeah, he worked all day, but he doesn't mind male wife-ing it up for you.

Either falls asleep too easily or cannot sleep no matter what. If you two are watching TV or something, then he'll end up falling asleep halfway through. But when it comes to actually laying down in bed, he is awake. His body is tired, but his mind is awake as he just holds you close and let's his eyes rest at least.

Author's Note: So here is one of the Pokémon things. I'll have one for Steven hopefully soon.

When sleeping with Grusha one must always be prepared for the cold.

Cold nose, cold toes, cold fingers, and cold ears.

And yes, this is before you get into bed as more likely than not your heater isn’t the best and a fireplace can only get so far. 

(Please pray for your pipes, also it’d be good to have like half a dozen fire pokemon laying around. I recommend Coalossal just cause.)  

Grusha is a man who has had his dreams stripped from him, a very telling part of that comes from his line, “Get ready to feel the icy bite of reality.” 

So coming home to you after a long day means the world to him. An empty home is almost never fun for a heart in pain.

When Grusha gets home he stomps off the ice and snow off his boots at the door with his Cetoddle right beside him. 

Cetoddle watches him and decides to mimic his trainer with a silly gesture of “wiping his feet” 

So when they both get into the house Cetoddle is off to find the snacks while Grusha uses his built in sensor to find you and give you a big (cold) hug.  

Pulling you close he rocks the two of you side to side before sticking his freezing fingers under your shirt

After your near death experience thanks to Grusha you make him a hot steaming cup of hot chocolate to warm up his hands. 

Anyway while he unwinds and mentally logs out at the kitchen table, you go ahead and put on a hot shower for him. 

It is mostly for your benefit though because if you don’t warm this baby up he’ll turn you into an icicle. 

So, while he washes up you get his pajamas ready, grabbing the long silk pants and long sleeve for him. 

And because you're there you strip and change as well, adding a fuzzy pair of socks.

Yes, I know. It’s controversial but bear with me.

By the time you’ve finished changing and prepping for bed Grush wanders out of the bathroom with steaming trailing after his feet and his hair up in a towel.  

You let him change and head back to the kitchen to fix up some food for the both of you. 

By the time dinner is done you’ve fed Grusha and he helped you feed your pokémon as well. 

And now finally it is time for a good sleep. 

But it isn’t, because Grusha is secretly an ice type and his toes are ice (this is what the socks were for) 

Unfortunately that doesn’t stop from feeling the cold though your pajamas

Grusha does love to cuddle and is always willing to be either spoon big or small. Or even having you lay on top of him. 

Overall, Grusha is a 8/10 sleep buddy simply because while he may be cold most of the time he doesn’t move an inch.

Pokemon | Birthday Headcannons (P2)

March 19th has rolled around once again being i am now once again here. Witting more birthday headcannons to fill the bottomless pit of my soul. Originally i was going to write Danganrompa ones but then remembered the fandom is basically dead just like all of my loved characters... Then i thought JoJo's, then MHA, Then KNY, Then Horror and many many other fandom i'm in and eventually decided to finish what i started. POKEMON! Scarlet and Violet edition! I'm gonna have to write a hundred of these ain't i...

When it comes to your birthday, Arven has absolutely zero plan. Not because he doesn’t have any ideas! Man has many ideas… too many to keep track of.

Arven has so many things he thinks you’ll enjoy, or places he wants to show you that his brain is about a thousand steps ahead of him, and the day before he just crashes out and wings everything on the day.

To him, this is your day, has nothing to do with him, it is your time to feel as happy as possible! Even without a plan our sandwich professional is going to work his ass off to make sure your smile never fades.

He may actually cry if it does.

In the morning, expect breakfast in bed. Equipped with all of your Pokemon already fed exactly how they like it. He takes notes. Any chores need to be done, Arven’s already done them. If you even attempt to get up before you have finished your breakfast, he will physically stand in the doorway with the most stern puppy dog eyes you will ever see on a human being. 

Arven even put extra effort in to make it look pretty, please enjoy it ;-; 

As for the actual day starting, he is essentially going to follow you around the entire time. If you want to stay in and watch movies, every blanket is there, PILLOW FORT! Shiny hunting may not be in his skill set but he will damn well try! Arven is more than happy to join you in some Pokemon battles, trainer or wild he is your player 2. 

No you cannot convince him to play video games with you. Arven could watch you all day though so if you want to ramble about your favourite game, his imaginary tail is eagerly wagging behind him while you talk.

Best part of the day, Lunch and Dinner. He goes ALL OUT! Anything you want to eat, it's yours, nothing is off the table, no matter how weird or exquisite it is. Hell you could ask him for just a bowl of cheesy nachos and he will make the greatest bowl of cheesy nachos the world will ever see.

He is so smitten with you already, so seeing your smile enjoying his food this time just feels so special to him. Arven put so much effort into this and to know you're happy with it makes his heart swell with love.

When it comes to gifts, he gives you 2. One he bought, most likely an item of clothing you had your eye on but couldn’t quite get yet. And the second is a handmade gift. He didn’t have help at all, don’t ask Nemona she didn’t help, Nemona and Arven didn’t work together in peace, that didn’t happen! YOU SAW NOTHING! Also ignore the Mabostiff hair.

Our excitable queen will make this day so special for you. Carmine will ask a few days prior about previous birthdays you’ve had and no matter what you tell her, she is now DEAD SET on making this the best one! 

You will be waking up at the crack of dawn. She did not wake you up, on purpose. But her Aggressive shuffling of things in the next room can cause some noise.

Remember those Kimonos Carmine gave you during the festival? Well turns out she has more, the shuffling was her digging them out from her hiding spot. Handmade by her and her Grandma. Custom made just for you, and hers matches, just with small differences to fit your personalities! 

Unlike Arven, Carmine has planned a day ahead although she will ask about everything before actually doing them. As excitable as she can be, your comfort is a top priority for her so if you say no to something she planned, consider it crossed off her list of fun things.

Carmine will however take you to the Shrine at some point towards the end of the day. Most likely around Sunset where she will tell you some of the Village's oldest tales and secrets. This is also where she gives you a gift. A Wood carving of your Pokemon. She had it made by an old friend of hers, hiding the carving here so no matter what you wouldn’t find it ahead of the day.

She will give you sneaky gifts as well though, just not in the traditional sense. You will suddenly find your item bag restocked with a bunch of different poke balls. Your bag now has a fluffy pom pom on it, when did that get there. Your worn down shoes suddenly look brand new. When did your hat get fixed?

This is also the only time you can convince Carmine to come to Paldea with you that doesn’t involve Area Zero or School. So take the chance whilst you can.

💜💤Drayton💤💜

Oh boy, Drayton our beloved. This day is going to be… Unique 

One of two situations will happen, though neither start until he wakes up around 1pm. 

Situation 1) Colgate has a day full of battles and adventures just waiting for you! Starting the day off with a nice pokemon battle between you. Followed by a full catching lap of each area within the Terrarium. He even enhanced his shiny hunting skills just for you! Drayton will still scare them away though, but he saw it this time!

Randomly throughout the day he will just pull you into spontaneous hugs, which is something he does anyway but these are different. Toothpaste wants you to know how much he loves you so will pamper you the entire day. Every hug you face is covered in kisses from him. Drayton will open every door for you, take off his jacket for you to sit on when you stop for a picnic. In regards to physical affection, Drayton towers over the others.

Drayton even packed extra pokeballs for you, well Luxury balls, he wanted these ones specifically to use on this day. Makes it feel more special to him since he never changed the ball he uses. 

Is your cheerleader. Like Arven he will follow you around when exploring the terrarium, so when you find a Pokemon you want and start up that battle. He is yelling his lungs out. Many a Rowlet was woken up. One even sat on his head at one point ruining his hair. Probably in retaliation to the squawking he was doing.

He may be a chill, go with the flow person. But today he is letting it loose, just having fun with it. All that built up energy is coming out today.

Situation 2) Lazy day. Drayton will grab you and pull you into him, laying you on his chest so he can just wrap you up in his embrace for as long as you let him. He has a blanket set up for you and the remote within your reach, movies and tv shows set up ready for you. If the pair of you aren't near a bed or sofa to just lay down and chill, he will carry you to one of them, whichever you feel more comfortable in. 

No you are not getting up to get something. If you want something either Colgate is getting it, or one of his Pokemon are more than eager to help. Drayton won’t stop you getting up of course, you’ll just have to wiggle your way out of his steel grip first. Unless it's the bathroom, he will let go. He isn’t weird so don’t even think about it.

🖤🎶Giacomo🎶🖤

Giacomo is the same lovable DJ regardless of redemption or not. So when it comes to your birthday, he is ready! Has he written and produced multiple songs just for your birthday, yes. Will he play them randomly throughout the day to catch you off guard just to see your genuine reaction, absolutely!

He cannot cook, in fact among the star crew he is the WORST cook. Giacomo and ovens are sworn enemies, even a microwave will fight back. Best he can do is a cheese sandwich. So no special birthday food, he would have asked for help, he really would. If he remembered he actually has to ask and can’t will it into existence randomly.

You may have to call Arven in for assistance.

Giacomo may not be able to cook, but damn can he have a good time. One of the best people to spend a birthday with, he is a DJ after all, if you wanted it, he would turn the entire star base into a celebration just for you, he has the power to so after all, why not use it. If this is post redemption however, he will dial it back ten fold it will still be to your liking but less… Grand?

If parties aren't your thing, no worries! He has an entire day long music playlist set up to play on speakers throughout the rooms. When a really good song comes on, he’ll stop whatever he was doing to pull you into a dance with him, goofy or romantic he will have fun with it.

When it comes to gifts he is an ask and you shall receive kind of guy. He doesn’t spend money throughout the year on himself, he wears the same outfits basically every week, it's a system. The only time he spends money is on other people. So he has the money to spare. 

Giacomo will straight up just give you his card directly when you can’t decide on something. The biggest toothy grin on his face as he ushers you to enjoy your special day.

Orders in for dinner. Doesn’t matter when or what it is. So long as he doesn't have to call Arven again. 

Surprisingly enough this is one of the few times he actually lets go of things, no team star, no school, no DJ work, nothing. Just you and your birthday are his priorities today.

The other leaders will show up throughout the day to give you a gift tho. You’re part of the family now.

SNOW CABIN

With Grusha, your birthday is a multiple day event. 

For the next 3 days, he has a cozy cabin booked for just the two of you to spend time together. You know those really cozy winter cabins you see in those cheesy Christmas movies? One of those.

Grusha will make sure this time is fun for you, it's one of the few times you will see a childish side of him surface. Snowball fights are a must, your birthday is the only time you can get away with chucking a snowball at him and not start an all out turf war with his Pokemon and yours.

Any and all Gym challenges are cast aside, The gym can do without him for a few days, this is your birthday after all. The gym can take a few days off.

The morning is the only time he will be outside the cabin, so this is when he will take you ice skating, build a snowman with you and just genuinely enjoy the snow with you. Since he's around Snow almost all the time, he tends to forget just how much fun it can be.

Once inside though, that's when the Grusha you know will show. The soft romantic side of him showing in full force. Sat by the fire, curled up in eachothers embrace, just living in the moment, enjoying the natural conversations that come. No movie or TV show, no rotom phones, just a genuine conversation. 

Even if what you are talking about is a topic you both have talked about before, doesn’t matter. As long as you are smiling and enjoying your birthday trip, he is satisfied.

You mean the world to Kieran, he owes you life times of debt. To him you are his anchor, his reason to keep going. So when it comes to your birthday, this is a day he is going to make special.

Kieran over thinks everything the day before, practically pulling his hair out when he reads through is incoherent scribbling of ideas. Carmine makes an attempt to help and it results in Kieran slumping into the corner in a defeated ball. 

Once his nerves have settled and his thoughts are consistent does he finally get an idea he likes.

For the entire day, he is going shiny hunting with you, taking you to each area helping you get as many cute colourful pokemon as you can within the hours the day gave you. And don;t worry about the Herba, he has that covered. He wasn’t the champion for nothing.

Kieran is already touchy, constantly wanting to hold your hand, today is no different. The entire time he is holding your hand and following behind you, watching you with heart eyes every time you point at a Pokemon or drag him back to the academy.

No battles today. Kieran won’t allow them on your special day. To him they mean negative things, competition. This is your day, not his, not Drayton, no that random beach lady. Yours. So battles are off limits. If you want to watch a battle he is fine with that though. 

You can go one day without battling you maniacs! 

He only has his Hydrapples ball on him today, his bag is empty at the start but full by the end of the day with the amount of rocks, and things you find. He emptied it just for today. No pebble left behind! It's also totally not because he wants an excuse to go shell hunting.

Future thing: He would definitely propose on your birthday. Just saying.

Grusha Romance Headcanons Pt. 2: During and Post-Accident

Warning: Not sfw, angst. 

A/N: Final part!

During the Accident:

You probably weren’t around when the accident happened, it was during his routine training with his teammates and he suffered a serious fall. His coached called you to come to the hospital and you came as fast as you could. He was likely already in surgery by the time you arrived so it was just sitting and waiting for him to get out with his coach and other concerned teammates. 

He got out of surgery 6 hours later and he already seemed so different. They shaved his head to perform a craniotomy to alleviate swelling in his brain and he had to stay on oxygen. He stayed in coma for weeks and you stayed with him the whole time. He was very confused upon waking. Of course he remembered you and his family but he had no recollection of anything after the incident. 

It was hard for him to accept that he needed so much help. He didn’t want you or any one to help him. He was too prideful. 

After the Accident:

If you both can survive this your relationship can survive anything. 

Getting Grusha to go to therapy was like trying to force a cat into a ice cold bath. He was way to prideful to believe he needed something like that. But seeing you cry and break down saying you didn't know how to help him made him give in.

Prone to self pity so you might need to remind him that you have needs as well because he’s kind of in his head. Therapy helps a lot. And he has you to confide in which makes recovering emotionally a lot easier. 

He was so cold and reserved. And it took a long time for him to come around. He loved you but part of him was ashamed that you’d seen him in such a vulnerable place. Grusha thought you wouldn’t be attracted to him after everything you saw during his recovery.

It was difficult watching his personality change. Grusha was a lot more energetic and playful before, if not kind of immature and arrogant. He gained a lot of maturity during his recovery and became generally more empathetic but also very aloof. 

He still loves you, he just needs help getting back to how things were. Ultimately he comes to realize things will never be how they were, but you’re still here and you still love him which he is eternally grateful for. Losing you and snowboarding would’ve been entirely too much. 

Because of this Grusha feels very loyal toward you  and protective of you. He was jealous before but now its intensified. How dare anyone try to take you from him. And you better not entertain anyone else either. It makes him particularly insecure. 

You help him find new hobbies. You both take up yoga together, still go on hikes and camping trips. 

After the accident he’s more concerned about keeping things private. People come up to him and say weird shit all the time so intimate dates become his preference. 

Now he realizes what he was missing when he was snowboarding all the time. Of course he still loves snowboarding but he could’ve been spending so much more time with you.

You both travel a lot. He’s sitting on a ton of money from his paid out endorsements and he can’t think of a better way to spend it than travelling with you. 

Don’t worry through Grusha save most of it for your future together. He wants to build a beautiful house in the mountains that you can raise your family in. Gym leader money isn’t half bad either. And if you work you both afford a very comfortable existence.  

Becoming a gym leader  was a particularly happy milestone for you both even if Grusha played it cool. It was nice to have a new pursuit that fulfilled him, even if it wasn’t to the same extent as snowboarding. 

The most important thing that Grusha learned through this whole process is that fulfillment needs to be drawn from multiple places so one setback isn’t so devastating. So now he has his job as a gym leader plus you and all of the shared pursuits you’ve cultivated together and the ones his achieved independently. 

Not Sfw:

A much more attentive lover. 

Doesn’t mind taking things slow. Although you can tell that he’s reacclimated to your sex life when things start to get a bit rough again. Not that you mind in the slightest. 

Starts asking how he can make things even better for you. He wasn’t unconcerned with your pleasure before but now he’s worried that if he doesn’ perform you’ll grow dissatisfied and leave him. Please assure him this is not the case. 

Oral game improves dramatically. He now has the patience that he didn’t have before. 

Things are so much more intimate now, warms closer, more affectionate. Less playful then they were before, but more satisfying because of the sheer depth of intimacy. You've both definitely cried at some point during sex after his recovery.

Now he cares about aftercare because he can't push himself the way he used to. But he doesn't mind snuggling and bathing together. He's amazed by how much he loves you, so let him hold you for as long as he wants.

☄️ Honestly bad at handling it. He already struggles with emotions as is, and is not sure how to deal with your obvious discomfort in a lot of social situations. Cyrus would probably accidentally make your shyness worse. He can talk about things with his odd charisma that somehow got him an entire bowl-cut cult, but he isn't sure how to handle your more reserved behaviour. The leader unexpectedly gets scolded by Mars and Jupiter about needing to be more aware.

☄️ He doesn't like to go out to places with many people, excluding the Galactic HQ. Places like Sinnoh's ancient ruin sights aren't exactly attracting a large crowds. So, in a way, he tries with that. Of course, in situations where you get taken to places with many people, he may forget your discomfort and meekness. You will have to ask for your own ketchup in restaurants. He will apologise if it obviously upset you, but this is aiding in his belief that emotions are useless by seeing you like this.

☄️ If your shyness leads to initiating of affections in your relationship with him, he will never initiate. Well, there are a few exceptions when he does (a long tiring day at “work”, when he feels vulnerable, when an odd loneliness eats at him), but he does not see the point in it unless you start it. His usual scowl certainly does not help with bravely getting a hug from him. Don't be afraid, however, at worst he will just stand there with strong indifference. (He does enjoy it.)

☄️ Overall, probably not the best with a shy partner, but he does try. Somewhat. Numerous discussions are probably required, but he does understand the urge to be more reserved around people. He just isn't a very emotional, comforting type who is aware of how to handle people. He does care; he is just bad at showing it.

♠️Grimsley❤️

♤ He actually might laugh at your more reserved nature. The elite four member is known to be a bit of a tease and somewhat cruel. He does, however, try to help you with it. People are hard at times, he gets it. While has the amazing ability to really understand body language due to his love of gambling, not everyone does. He can read your tense shoulders and obvious curling into yourself with ease. This is when the teasing comes alongside his aide.

♡ His favourite places to go are bustling and social heavy, so he wonders how to take you out to places you can both enjoy. He does not want to keep forcing you into uncomfortable situations in which you may not enjoy yourself, after all. Grimsley settles on things like cat cafés and city walks as a good in-between. There are other people around for him to observe and degrees of separation involved to keep you from having to force yourself out in the open too much. Unlike Cyrus, he may or may not order for you, too, if you are struggling too much. It's a coin-flip. Literally.

◇ If you are more reserved in your relationship, he views you like a shy Purrloin. He quite literally says as much. Even if you struggle to initiate affection, he can easily slither his arms around you for a hug and tease you about how obvious it was that you wanted to cuddle. Much like a cat, he gets you to a point where you can easily come to him for affection. He's smug about how he helped get you over it, though. Be warned.

♧ Grimsley is a bit mean, but he does mean to help you. He wants you to come out of your shell more but respects how difficult that can be for you. If ever does anything that is genuinely too much and upsets you, he instantly shifts from his smug persona into a softer, more apologetic one. He cares a lot, actually. You may find your shyness eased quite a bit by the gambler.

💼Larry🏢

🍙 He is uncertain. His overworked brain ponders how to handle your more reserved nature. His job(s) requires him to deal with countless people. Even extremely difficult people. He shudders at the thought of his boss. The ordinary everyman understands why one would want to be more reserved completely. Larry decides to mostly help you in whichever way seems best for the situation you are in.

🍙 While his favourite date locations are the restaurants are Medali, he can forfeit it easily for evenings in. He has seen your obvious reservation in social situations and doesn't want you to be forced out into a lot and run out your social battery. Though, should you both end out at a restaurant together, he does help a lot. Larry can talk for you if needed, or just be silent support. He gets it. If you want to come out of your shell more, he encourages you in a subtle way.

🍙 If you are reserved in your relationship, he finds himself at an impasse. He struggles to be overly affectionate himself. It will be an extremely awkward thing if you both want to cuddle, but neither wants to initiate it. Larry will force himself to get over it and start it, eventually. Tired man does really hope you can get to a point where you initiate it on your own, though. If you do, you get a rare Larry smile and contented sigh from the man.

❄️ He might take it the wrong way, honestly. Grusha is always in a bit of a mood. When he realises you are actually struggling, he has a moment of feeling like a dick and being annoyed. Your meeker nature is something he can't wrap his head around. Well, he gets it. Grusha likes you, though, so he bravely swallows back his feelings and tries to figure out how to best work with you on this. He recalls how people treated him after his accident. Yeah, he gets it a bit. (He is going back and forth on his feelings, like many things.)

❄️ Lucky for you, he doesn't really like overly busy places for dates. He mostly prefers walks alone with you on the mountains. Grusha likes it just being you two, since it gives him time to get away from his position as gym leader. If you both do end up at a place with people, he does turn full “they asked for no pickles” for you. Grusha will handle conversations if you don't want to. His icy demeanour does hold a certain softer side under it. He doesn't like seeing you uncomfortable, especially at the hands of another. He does try to encourage you to better stand up for yourself, though.

❄️ If you are shy about affections in your relationship, he debates how to go about this. See, he thinks initiating cuddling is a bit uncool. He finds roundabout ways to get you to initiate, but if that fails, he does eventually give in and starts off affection. In a way, he does help you get over your shyness about cuddling and kissing, since he manages to get over his obvious struggles about starting it himself. Not to mention, he's a great cuddler.
