so Unrelated but is Circe's future partner a shiny Latias?? :0 if so, can i have a tid bit of lore if that doesnt involve any spoilers? :D

Been working on this like a mad man to condense it, the first draft was way too long XD

Okay for for context, Citrine is a shiny Latias that will eventually become Circe’s partner down the road. This was based off the fact when I was shiny hunting Mewtwo, I couldn’t find it in the wormholes in USUM, but I did find Latias! So I took a break to shiny hunt her instead. I found her 7000 encounters in and then found Circe 2-3k encounters later after finally tracking her down X3

The two girlies are a sapphic couple, they won’t adopt or have any kidlets, but will be the type of aunts that show up to family events, spoil the niece’s and nephew’s, then dip after hyping them up on sugar.

Some old art I made of them a while back for visual enjoyment, but onto to explaining for how Lati’s work in this world and where Citrine and Circe come into play amongst it!

Lati’s are a companion based species, requiring a partner to survive whether platonic or romantic. Otherwise they are known to decline both physically and mentally, eventually perishing from loneliness. They also require a partner to reproduce, however both genders can lay egg making the sex of the Lati companions irrelevant. Due to being hunted by humans and predators alike, as well as Latias’s bright red colouring making it easier to spot has greatly reduced the number of their population. Causing even more to die from being unable to locate a partner, resulting in their very culturally strict mating/breeding habits.

Lati’s often pair up into larger pods in order to ensure survival of their chicks, of which are always guaranteed to be twins! However, if a Lati couple fails to produce two living, healthy kits they will be ejected from the pod. This is because:

1) They fear the miscarry was a genetic flaw and will be carried down by the chicks.

2) It causes an uneven of Lati’s, guaranteeing it or another will struggle to find a companion.

Ejecting the family removes the threat of tainting the gene pool and prevents a guaranteed uneven spread of Lati’s! As while more chicks can still die from illness, hunting, or accidents, it’s not a guarantee. The pods do everything in their power to prevent it, given to reproduce its required to have 2 Lati’s of which can only produce 2 chicks in their entire lifetime. Making uneven numbers very dangerous! Since every pair can only reproduce once.

Ejecting a family is treated as a death sentence, as often without the assistance of the pod it becomes difficult to raise and care for the chicks. The parents splitting up as one cares for the babies and the other provides. However if one parent is ever picked off by predators, it forces the remaining parent to risk leaving the chicks alone. All accumulating to a higher chance of the family perishing all together.

So how does this all affect the gals? Well, Citrine is shiny, that’s a problem for Lati’s.

Shiny’s in my story, by admittedly accident, usually spell a bad omen or follow up a tradegy, a death, or a life altering event. Citrine continues this trend.

She was born alongside her twin brother we’ll just call Latios for now. Latios was a normal, non shiny Lati, while Citrine was bright gold/yellow. Upon their pod seeing this, her family was ejected from the pod and forced to live on their own. Her parents did not abandon her and happily, albeit struggling, raised her and her twin brother despite the HEAVY judgement from other pods. Given Shinys were ejected not because of any inherent defects, but rather because they were infertile.

Shiny Lati’s cannot produce offspring, and given it takes two Lati’s to make a kiddo, if one can’t contribute their side of the equation, their partner can’t have the chicks either. They are not asexual reducers and require the both partners to be fertile!

So upon seeing Citrine was a shiny Latias, her family was ejected due to the guaranteed inability for her to pair up. And whilst her family did successfully raise both her and her brother to adulthood. Even in lone Lati’s search for companions, no one will take a shiny. Which is a shame, give shinies are often larger, bulkier, more powerful, and their colors help them blend in BETTER then normal Latias’s especially. Latios’s stay generally the same with colour camp shiny or otherwise. So despite this, Citrine has a very good chance at surviving on her own!

If dying slowly from loneliness and depression was a thing.

Cue Circe.

Circe finds Citrine very much on her last legs, the will to move or find food is all, but gone. So she’s wasting away on a cliff face near an ocean. Circe, a shiny herself and having 0 concept of Lati’s or most Pokémon for that matter, helps her and slowly nurses her back to health. Her disregard for shinies, their status in the general population, and genuinely caring for Citrine as she is and not what she is ends up being the first time she ever has someone really look beyond her colours. Breaking out of a toxic mindset her species imprinted on her due to fear and desperation to keep their species alive in the first place.

From there it’s a very classic lesbian love story. No one confesses for 8 years and eventually they realize their “friendship” is very, very, very, very much not a friendship anymore and hasn’t been for a while ;]

Pokemon "national dexes" are just the pokemon that naturally live in the region (even if they've been introduced from other regions/are invasive). Pokemon not in the dex can still be brought to other regions as partner Pokemon or as part of a team, they don't take your Pokemon away. You just can't catch them in the wild and Pokemon that aren't in the national dex are disqualified from official gym challenges and other events. Though a lot of gym leaders are cool with having a battle with non-regional pokemon for fun, you can't earn a badge with them.

Given the situation with Arven's parents - one leaving, and the other being too wrapped up in their work to take care of him - the poor kid had a pretty negative mentality for his age

So when Gusteau said "Anyone can cook," he was all like, "Wrong!! No way, no how!! Not just anyone can cook!"

Not even seeing Remy's dangerous search for spices for his electrocuted food sold him on the idea.

But then, the moment Remy began adding herbs, creams, and whatever else to the pot at Gusteau's restaurant during that one sequence, he was all for it.

He decided that day that he wanted to try to learn how to cook too

Clavell thought it was a great idea, especially since Arven was not yet attending classes at the academy

Saguaro, a young man who had just barely graduated from the academy himself at the time, took Arven under his wing

Arven learned everything he knows about cooking from that man, as well as some tutorials on PokéTube (Is that a thing? Welp, it is now lol) later on

What started as a fun hobby - introduced to him by a movie about a cooking Rattata - evolved into the passion we now know

He doesn't just want to make yummy meals, despite that being his initial reason back in the day

He also wants to nourish people with nutrients

To make their days brighter

To heal them of ailments, when applicable (Looking at you, Mabosstiff)

The fact that he's really good at making delicious food is just an added benefit to the situation

Alllll-righty then, here are my Hassel Fam hcs/lore/some story shizzle. It’s a bit of long read so here we freaking go,,,

(Also contains a lil sneak preview of one of my ocs I’m writing about)

- Hass family tree traces back to the 18th century

- They live southwest of Hammerlocke, on dozens of acres of land. Almost like a small village.

- It’s quite hidden deep in the forest. The only way you’d know you’re on their property is if you’re greeted by two statues of dragons leading to an archway.

- The clan has quite the menagerie of dragon Pokémon, breeding them for family and also for up and coming dragon tamers outside of their family.

- Raihan’s family are on somewhat good terms with Hass’s family, but Raihan always felt….. something kinda off about them??? But he never really spoke about that in public.

- They are very traditional. The head of the family is always male and arranged marriages are absolute.

- The current leader is Hassel’s father, Adonis. He is widowed and has three children: two sons, Hassel and Virgil (the latter who is the youngest child), and a daughter named Freya (who is the middle child)

- Adonis is INCREDIBLY two-faced. He knows how to put on an act to strangers: the sweet old man act. But to those who know him, Adonis is very tough, stoic, calculating, ruling over the clan with an iron fist. Always knows that he’ll get what he wants. On top of that, he is an absolute gaslighter.

- Virgil is extremely resentful towards Hassel, wishing he was the next head instead of his older brother. He is also sharp tongued and blunt. Virgil is currently married and has 2 sons (who are just as rude and sharp tongued as him)

- Freya on the other hand, is more reasonable. Regardless, she thinks quite highly of herself and thinks Hassel was selfish of abandoning the family. She was also one of the main people who would regularly sent to retrieve her brother, besides the elders. She is married and has no children.

- Adonis’s wife was named Helene. She was beautiful and strong willed. Although she was resilient like her husband, Helene was more softer towards her children.

- By the time the children turned 10, they began intense training. When they were young, it would start with basics like learning about each type of dragon and bonding time. And when they get older, then the true intense dragon taming sessions would begin.

- It wasn’t uncommon for the children to be verbally abused over just the little mistakes. The clan always DEMANDS perfection, no mistakes whatsoever.

- Adonis and the elders would always say “if they didn’t have any scars, they weren’t training hard enough.”

- It was pretty common in the clan to have training scars.

- They were especially rough with Hassel, considering he was the next head of the family. Hassel was expected to lead the family to greatness and sire a male heir.

- The clan was in a panic when they found out that 16 year old Hassel ran away, basically disappearing.

- “The boy is bluffing. He’ll come back here. I’ll give it a few days before he decides to come back blubbering” Adonis scoffed. Nope, that’s not what happened.

- It would be 7 years until they located Hassel in Paldea. But he stood firm on his decision to stay there and refuse to come home.

- Suddenly, Helene had unexpectedly passed away. It left Adonis and his children crushed. That was the only time Hassel came back home.

- Initially he was going to stay for a while but after a huge blowout with his father, a day after the funeral, Hassel went back to Paldea. He would never return home.

- And so began relatives trying to convince him to come home. Virgil only did it once and,,,,,, let’s just say it didn’t turn out so good

- Adonis never went. Not only because of tending to the clan at home, but being a stubborn ass.

- The next time he would hear from Hass is when he got married to his first wife. The clan was overjoyed (albeit it wasn’t a woman of his father’s choosing, his son was married regardless)

- Adonis didn’t visit but he did send a telegram congratulating Hassel on his marriage.

- Regardless, they still continued to pester him to come home.

- Once again, it would be another 6 years when he would hear from his son again. Only this time, it came to light that Hassel had become a father.

- Now Adonis was fucking GIDDY about this piece of news. Like this mf was excited that his son was bringing a new heir.

- Once again he was unable to visit but a year later, he decided to go see his son. It had been years since they last saw each other and they left on sour terms.

- Freya decided to come along. Adonis was excited to see their new heir.

- Hassel thought his father was bluffing when he said he was coming over but nope it was true :’)

- “Where is my grandson? I would like to see him” Adonis asked. Hassel was super hesitant about the whole ordeal but he had to come clean.

- Two revelations had came out. A: Hassel and his wife had divorced and had been divorced for over a year. B and the biggest reveal of all: instead of a son, Hassel had a daughter. He was raising the girl by himself.

- Hassel brought the baby to see her aunt and grandfather. But he was clutching her a little tightly, having a feeling of they would try to do something .

- “Oh.” That was the only thing Adonis could say. He was….. well, no one could really tell how he felt or what he was thinking because his face was just in a blank stare.

- He decided to talk to Hassel alone. Adonis began asking him if he had been back in the dating scene

- Hassel knew he would ask this. Currently, dating is the last thing on his mind as he has a bigger task at hand at the moment.

- “But what if, one of these days, your daughter would want a sibling? Perhaps a baby brother” Adonis asked.

- There it is. He knew it. He knew his father wouldn’t accept her. Adonis tried to be all innocent about it: “Hassel, she is an adorable baby, there is no doubt about that. But you know she can’t be the next heir. That would break our clan’s law and-“

- “Get. Out.” Hassel growled. They began to leave, not before Adonis promising that he will find another wife for Hassel and that he WILL give him a grandson. That was the last time he saw his son.

- Years passed and other clan members continued to pester Hassel on coming back. Adonis refused to go back to Paldea.

- The ONLY time the clan was proud of Hassel was when he was inducted into the Elite Four. But found it nonsensical that he became a teacher and on top of that, dating a grass type gym leader.

- Adonis began to realize deep down that he’s fighting a losing battle. And he was feeling…. regret and shame???? All throughout Hassel’s youth, he was tough on him. Forcing him to do something he didn’t want to do, belittling him. He thought he was toughening Hassel up but that wasn’t it.

- His stubbornness and actions had pushed his son away and denying a relationship with his granddaughter.

- However, he would never admit this and was still under the belief that Hassel will come home one of these days.

- Currently, the clan is still going strong. However, now they are all starting to realize that Hassel will never come back no matter how hard they push (he’s been saying that for 38 years and NOW they’re starting to realize they’re losing smh)

i have a hc about tandemaus/maushold thats kinda similar to my one about latias/latios where i think the mice need to be in pairs to thrive and can get mentally and physically unwell really fast in isolation (a singular one is probably called a maus)

2 maus together tho are not necessarily like, a m/f couple they can also be gay couples, parent child, and sibling pairs and maushold arent always 2 parents with children it can be like a group of siblings with younger siblings or grandparents with grandchildren etc, all that tandemaus and maushold are is 2 or more maus that have grouped together for one reason or another, the 2 baby mice found in mausholds can also be adopted, anyway there’s no 1 way the groups can form

ideal living situations for mausholds is a really giant family unit which ensures that no individual ends up totally alone, though for the few maus who do end up alone their first instinct is to seek out another maus to form a tandemaus with

remember when I said that im gonna make a post with a bunch of headcanons about like, ONE specific pokemon at some point?? yeah im doing this now and this pokemon is nihilego and im full of headcanons everything is under the cut because I have SO MANY headcanons to talk about also i keep switching between using it/its and they/them to nihilego so i guess they’re an they/it now

While nihilego’s whole body is full of neurotoxin, some parts of its body have a more concentrated amount of it. The darker parts on this sketch indicate a more concentrated amount of neurotoxin, while lighter parts indicate a less concentrated amount of it. Even the completely white parts still have the neurotoxin

Despite having the most concentrated amount of neurotoxin in its bell, they don’t usually sit on a new host’s head immediately, unless in an immediate danger to nihilego itself. Most of the times, they inject the neurotoxin with the front tentacles first, and only after some time latch onto the host’s head

When nihilego does latch onto a host’s head, the effect of neurotoxin becomes MUCH stronger than before, but is still not immediate

While in most cases any contact with nihilego means you are going to be injected with neurotoxin and (most likely) become its new host, there are cases in which the body can get completely rid of neurotoxin by itself. This happens if the person feels a very strong emotion of fear after being injected, which happened to Guzma. Those cases are extremely rare, since most people won’t feel as if anything’s wrong while being injected

If you’ve been injected with nihilego’s neurotoxin, it’s nearly impossible to get rid of it by your own choice. If you’ve JUST been injected with it, the changes to your mind and emotions are very subtle and you wouldn’t think much of it, but the longer you’ve been under it’s effect, the effects are getting stronger and it gets very hard to resist the neurotoxin, feeling the extreme excitement and lack of inhibition. It feels like you don’t want this feeling to end. And it’s very convenient for nihilego itself! Easier to just have one host than to search for another one

Even if the person doesn’t notice that they are being affected by nihilego, other people, especially the ones who have known that person for a long time, can easily notice the changes in the person’s behavior. If asked about this, nihilego’s host may react with a violent response. In order for this to happen, nihilego suddenly injects a host with a big amount of neurotoxin. It does not want the host to listen to the other person as it doesn’t want to lose a host in result

Nihilego affect’s the person’s ego, basically “feeding” on it. Losing their ego, the person becomes obsessed with nihilego, even to the point of forgetting their own needs, such as eating or sleeping. ESPECIALLY sleeping, not just because of that, but also because of the constant feeling of excitement. Their emotions aren’t very stable either. Most of the times they will sleep either if their organism just can’t take it anymore, or they have a pokemon in their team that knows a move that sets a sleep status condition

Due to the effects of the neurotoxin, the host loses the feeling of self-preservation, not even understanding that some of the things are dangerous now

The longer the host is under the effect of nihilego’s neurotoxin, the more their facial expression changes as well. Their speech gets more incomprehensible and chaotic. The eyes turn more yellow, even if they are not fused with nihilego. The body is constantly shaking and twitching

The host doesn’t really feel any pain from the injection of neurotoxin, but that is mostly because their mind just can’t comprehend it anymore, being in this state

Ultra Deep Sea’s air is ALSO full of nihilego’s neurotoxin, but not as much as nihilego’s body - being there for a short amount of time isn’t really dangerous, but you can feel that it’s harder to breathe here. However, if the person is ALREADY a host of nihilego, this place will even feel... Comfortable to them, and the air would feel fine to them (since they are already full of neurotoxin)

Nihilego usually only fuses with a host in a situation of immediate danger to nihilego (even if the danger is “losing a host because other people have came here to get this person back”, like in sun/moon), injecting EVEN MORE neurotoxin into the host’s body, making the person’s mind a complete mess while being fused with them

During a fusion, the host will most likely NOT attack by themselves, not wanting to harm nihilego in any way (which is how I explain the “why don’t we fight Lusamine herself in the ultra space”)

The attack from a specific pokemon such as solgaleo or lunala CAN briefly cleanse the person’s body of some of the neurotoxin, but you need full medical attention to fully get rid of it, and even afterwards you will still experience some possible side effects. I am not entirely sure if it’s possible if the person has been affected by it for TOO long, though
