Volume 9 of RWBY is to the previous 8 volumes what Steven Universe: Futures was for the main Steven Universe series
#rwby#rwby volume 9#rwby spoilers#rwby v9 spoilers#both were child soldiers tasked with being leaders and shouldering responsibilities that never should have been theirs to carry#both were failed by the adults in their lives and relied upon by them as literal children#both never dealt with their trauma until they finally had a moment to breathe#and both didnt know their purpose beyond helping and being a hero#and now ruby is lashing out because she sees others doing better and she saw her team comfort jaune but not her#but she also never reached out#she didnt let anyone help her#just like steven#there's only so much they could have done if the hero isnt willing to admit they're struggling#i just think its interesting#and i dont think we should be blaming either side#the fault lies with the adults who created their dynamics and groomed the hero into thinking they needed to suffer alone#some intentionally and others not#but yeah#its the fault of circumstance and also personal decisions and choices#but no one can read minds in either series#so we cant just expect them to know when the hero is struggling or how to help them#and we cant expect the hero to just get over their trauma and realize they're isolating themselves#its complicated and messy and i love it#steven universe#steven universe futures
