Hello, hello! Welcome to my main blog, where the DCA fascination consumes! My alt blog is @sharetheartman, go check it out if you wanna see the amazing art this community has to offer!
My Ko-fi (if you're able to help a struggling writer, very much appreciated. Can request written commissions if you want): BlueMoon1331
Below is a list of all my current fics on A03 and planned AUs! Give them a read if you love fantasy and the DCA! (Updated to divide between the SFW and NSFW stories)
<<<<<First up, the SFW section!>>>>>>
Finished Works:
One Lost Star- You are a bit of a hermit, living solo off the land since the death of your grandfather. Until you draw certain godly attention, that is.
Scarlet Masquerade- The sole heir to your kingdom, you find yourself caught in the tangled web of the automaton emperor's plans. However, things are about to go from bad to worse when you catch the interest of the deadly automaton assassin sent to end you.
WIPs:
Cosmic Journeys- Trapped in the depths of depression, you seek an unfortunate out. The nearby land owner won't let that happen, though. Thus begins a journey of self-worth and finding hope in a world of madness and compassion, monsters, saints, and everything in between.
Come and Go- A Megamind-inspired AU with Sun as Metroman, Moon as Megamind, and Eclipse as Titan, while you are a delivery driver caught in the middle.
Unusual- An oceanographer, there is no place you'd rather be than scouring the depths of the seven seas, studying its plant life and creatures, in particular the infamous mers, beings most of your co-workers are quite wary of. They don't seem to mind you too much, though, a fact you try not to put stock in until an encounter on the beach near your house flips your entire world upside down. Strings of fate and a battle to rule the oceans with you as the key? Ridiculous. Right?
Of Metal Parts and Roadside Shenanigans- You are a trucker traveling home before unwittingly tripping headfirst into a giant mystery. (More of @deceptiveshadow's Blood Moon cause I love him and cannot help myself.)
One-shots:
Party Crashing 101- A piece inspired by the mafia episode from Helluva Boss. Badass, protective reader ftw XD
Blooming In Adversity- You and the princesses were great friends in your youth, until you had to move away. Years later, you return, your friendship blooming anew. However, dark plots turn in the background, and it may be up to just you to save them.
Phantom Tide- You are a siren, crushed under betrayal. Sun and Moon are brothers recovering from the throes of grief. Perhaps you may be just what each other need.
Connotations- Your duties as a druid are fairly life-consuming, but you have happily devoted yourself to them. Keeping the peace is not the easiest, but you do it all the same. Unfortunately, the arrival of contesting priests threaten your efforts, setting you on a collision course to meet three of the forest's most powerful caretakers.
Diamonds and Iron- Being a rather big-time mafia boss, of course Eclipse needs places to stash away his income. As an outdoor enthusiast, you love visiting the local motorsports arena when you can afford it. Oh, who's that standing in the middle of the track, where you can't see?
Birds of a Feather- You are stuck as the basically powerless manager to the newly opened pizzaplex. With problems everywhere you look, you're not sure which one to focus on or handle first. Perhaps you could find a kindred soul in a certain mechanic, however. (Based in the EAPS universe)
<<<<<<<<<NSFW area ahoy!>>>>>>>>>>
Finished Works:
Never Play Cat and Mouse With Vampires- Living alone is a necessity, your skills in hunting, magic, and evasion giving you all you need for contentment, or so you tell yourself. In your newest home you, unfortunately, find that your capabilities only draw the infatuation of three local creatures that are intent to finally capture you and make you theirs. Annoyingly, they may just get that chance.
Dancing In Orbit- The lunar vampire is the last of his kind, a deadly plague on the Earth that refuses to yield despite the uncountable years that have passed since the last of his kin and kind died off. You, running from your intertwined past, seek to finally put an end to that, with some help from friends old and new.
Familiar Constellations- The vampires get a bit quirky about you, especially when you egg them on. Mature. Very, very mature. Good gods they are rough, but you love it. After all, you can get a bit rough with them, too.
Gravity- Featuring another of @deceptiveshadow's lovely OCs, Nova. Normally quite the quiet and cat-like companion, you join him for a round of games in which his behavior becomes increasingly odd. That's nothing compared to when you strangely wake in the tower the next day, having no recollection of how you got there, and what comes after.
WIPs:
Embers and Ash- Ghost hunting is your profession, and you are damn good at it. Which is why you don't think twice when you're hired to cleanse an abandoned mansion of its otherworldly resident. Too bad this job is not the cake walk you thought it would be.
Burning Stars- You run your farm alone on a world teeming with aliens and humans, content with your animal family and helpful community, even if you keep the latter at arm's lengths. Until your peace is interrupted by a certain intergalactic bounty hunter, anyway.
Rosewood's Serenade- The eldest child of your kingdom, you have trained since birth to be all your home needs and more, intent to take the throne when the time comes, marriage or no. However, your parents harbor a secret, a deal struck when disaster threatened to destroy all they hold dear, and you soon find yourself meeting a most intriguing being...
Demonic- The saying of Hell is empty for all the demons are here has never been more apt. Caught smack dab in the middle of the infamous Hell-Day event, you come out with an unexpected passenger woven into your soul. Now, you secretly fight to preserve the fragile balance between mortals and the demons trapped on Earth, all while contending with the fact your new neighbors are the very ones responsible for sealing the gates, the infamous Celestial Graces. They also happen to be the mortal enemies of the one currently living in you. Fun times all around, especially with devil himself on your heels, seeking to reclaim what he lost.
Along the Akesh- Blessed with visions since your youth, you were taken and raised by the temple, becoming one of the highest-ranked priests, second to only the grand heijut himself. With an awe-inspiring festival and ritual that happens only once every five centuries under way, you are eager to meet the moon god, one of the many you have had the pleasure of conversing with throughout your prayers and oracles, in person. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the temple must pay recompense for an accidental screw up with a gift left by an old friend. You are about to learn just how intrigued you and the moon god truly are with each other.
One-shots:
Bleeding Feathers- You weren't supposed to go into the exclusionary zone, but that's never been a problem for you before. This time, however, you might just get more than you bargained for. Fan piece for @deceptiveshadow's harpy au! (Not TSAMS)
Color Theory- Moving back to your late grandma's cabin, you pray for things to finally settle down. Unfortunately, her myriad of secrets seek to come back and haunt you, but hey, it might not be all bad this time. You could use the comfort of an old friend. Another fic inspired by @deceptiveshadow! Their god Blood Moon this time. (Not TSAMS)
<<<<<<<Lastly, miscellaneous potential AUs!>>>>>>>
Lich King AU- With the three realms in shambles, cut off from each other, it is up to the most powerful warriors of Earth to fend off the lich king and his Elite army, including his own brothers. You, whom offers them a secret safe haven and relaxation when they need it, cannot deny your love for Sun and Moon, nor they you, but with Eclipse hounding for any weakness he can use against his kin, is the danger really worth it? You find the answer may be coming sooner than you would like when the two go missing after a fight.
Spirited Away AU- You have moved to a more remote region in hopes of forgetting a troubled family life. Content to spend your time among the lush jungles of the land, you inadvertently stumble upon an obviously long-forgotten temple. Curiosity eats at you, and you cannot help get closer, initially unaware of the myriad of eyes watching you, until you spot...an icy blue leopard? It's a good thing you helped those snakes and that spider on your way here.
Harem AU- You saved them from certain death, and now the clan of vampire brothers serve you. For years uncountable, you have pulled the strings, quite happy to cause chaos around the world when it becomes too dull for your liking, going from hero to hero. On blood soaked ground, you are content with your helpful vampires, though can things really stay the same forever?
Skyrim AU- Every place has its demons, no matter how reclusive or small. You consider yourself one of them. Seeking an escape, you move to Solstheim hoping for a fresh start. How unfortunate for you that you would arrive during the island's darkest hour. Cults, strange creatures, a frost giant king, and the arrival of two Dragonborns drag you right back into the spotlight, dredging up your past as you all race against time and the greedy daedra of knowledge to stop each other's destruction.
Then There Was One- You wake up to an empty world. You don't comprehend how or why it happened, just that everyone seems to have vanished in the blink of an eye. Cars sit vacant in traffic, meals left uneaten, internet full of messages that abruptly stopped hours ago. You try to live on your lonesome, keeping yourself distracted, and ignoring the gnawing loneliness. Except, well, you might not be as alone as you think, a fact you find out far too late when your page gets flooded with AI messages and bots are suddenly knocking at your day. Just what the hell kind of universal joke was this robot apocalypse you were stuck in? Or...do you have this all wrong? Your new companions may yet help you figure it out.

Before you stands a magical girl. his name is Robert Dunning. When it is time for him to cook, he does a magical girl transformation into Gordon Freeman. When the apprentices fail to appease, he yells "where is the gun sauce?". a strange quirk, don't you think? see in this part of town gun violence has gone down by 6.2% so during the day Robert Dunning collects guns from homeowners, and at night he cooks them into sauce. What does this sauce taste like? metallic. like blood. He puts them on pancakes. It reminds him of the blood pancakes he had when he was a little girl growing up in finland. That's right, he's transgender. Unfortunately the publishing company thinks it'd be weird to call it a magical boy transformation so the name has to stick around for now. One day when he does a magical girl transformation into Gordon Freeman, he intends to plant a bomb tree outside the publishing company as revenge. Strange, don't you think? Gordon Freeman is a famous chef from Limbo's Kitchen, why would he know gardening? Well it's a side biz he picked up when he was a teened ager in finland. See, in finland, they plant trees that eventually grow into bombs. This is done because by the time the bombs go off, years will have passed and it is impossible to trace the tree back to the planter. The Fins are in for the long game Revenge is a dish best served with some gun sauce.
those certainly are words. also i love half life but know fuck all about it so trans gordon freeman ftw

How would the reader handle a DKA in the UTMV?
Well how bad are we talking? Cuz you're talking to someone that's been hospitalized three times for DKA and gets ketones way too easily.
Because if its just moderate ketones? Lots of sugar free gatorade and curled up in a ball.
But if we're talking severe ketones? When youre throwing up constantly and your muscles feel like you're being eaten alive? (Because you kinda are?)
TW: body fluids, needles
You were honesty so glad Sci had asked so many questions about how diabetes is actually handled. His appalled reaction to how many myths there were about being a diabetic was honestly soothing. Some things you'd had to figure out how to ask your endo so you could explain things to him.
And right now? It was definitely needed. You'd been helping the Stars as of late, and while you were human and couldn't really use magic, you were getting pretty good at facing off against murder skeletons. (The Stars had protested, but you were stubborn. Perseverance trait ftw)
Except, you kind of forgot how easily it was to get infected sometimes. And Killer definitely didn't keep those knives sanitary. Sure you'd gone to Sci immediately after the fight and he'd disinfected and treated your arm, but you still somehow got infected. And it got bad, fast. Pus probably wasn't supposed to look so cloudy and thick like that.
And with the infection came the high blood sugars. You felt like absolute garbage, and Sci had noticed. You tried to wave him off, but after about three days of it, you couldn't even hold down water.
Well shit.
Sci had forced you to take a ketone test and did some other bloodwork. When the results came back you were thoroughly scolded about not hiding your injuries and not letting things get so bad. "I'd expect something like this from Dream, but you should know better!"
He set up a room in his lab with everything he'd need to look after you, sending people to get necessary supplies. Given healing magic's tendency to stabilize your blood sugars he'd be using that in addition to the usual IVs of electrolytes and insulin.
Of course, all the vomiting had you severely dehydrated, so actually getting the IV in was quite another story. He was such gentler than the nurses in human hospitals you'd been to, and honestly pretty good at finding a vein for someone who didn't have any of their own. But eventually it was in, and Dream was able to use healing magic to close up all the pokes that didn't end up with an IV.
He checked on you often, as well. Giving you ice chips to keep you from getting even more dehydrated (hell yeah! Way better than sucking on a sponge!), checking your blood work and sugars constantly. Sci and Dream were both watching you like a hawk when Sci finally felt you were safe to start eating again, both worried about your ability to keep food down
Someone from the Council had made the food. Much better than crappy hospital food
You honestly got a lot of visitors. The Stars were a constant, with Blue threatening to scold Killer for putting you in this condition. Various members of the Council also came and went.
But finally, after intensive care from Sci, you were better. You made sure to get him his favorite drink from Ccino's in thanks.

So, the Black Jewels Trilogy
Saw these books recommended in a thread about adult sexy fantasy books, and my brain went ??? Wait. They weren’t that adult???? They had dark themes, but they were fluff.
I’d almost forgotten about them. I read them about 15 years age (wat!) in high school. My friends at the time peer pressured me into it. They would tell me about all their favourite scenes and squee about them as we whiled away lunches in the stairwell, which both spoiled a lot of the fun of reading them the first time and I still remember which scenes were spoiled as I did my reread.
I enjoyed them well enough at the time, because they were dark and a bit gory and a bit sexy and I was ravenous as a teen for anything with sex, violence, and especially BDSM. I grew out of them by uni.
So the thread was specifically recommending them as an adult alternative to the trendy ACoTaR books by Sarah J Maas that I have never read and don’t intend to. I have since learned that some hold the opinion that SJM plagiarized or otherwise cribbed heavily from Black Jewels. (The other alternative offered in that thread were the Kushiel books, which I would agree are more adult, both in subject matter and style.)
On a reread, I think my initial impression that these books are more for teens—or people who specifically want and need an id-based power fantasy—holds up. Content warnings for literally all the standard bogeyman: rape, pedophilia, implied cannibalism, torture, etc etc. It dives shallowly into all the dark stuff in order to get to the revenge fantasy at the heart of the series.
Extensive spoilers under the cut. There’s a few things I liked, but there’s a lot more I didn’t enjoy about it too. (And it’s not because of any of the content warning stuff above.)
I wrote my review of the first three books before reading any of the sequels. Sequel reviews will be forthcoming.
The Setting
The worldbuilding is a mess. I have no idea how the economy works or why there are even nonBlood ‘landens’ (basically magicless folk) at all when they Literally. Never. Show. Up.
Yet! For all that! It is so rare to see a matriarchy in a fantasy setting that I will forgive the cardboard worldbuilding and pretend like economics doesn’t matter it’s just fantasy. I love that the greatest power is downwards, the Darkness rather than the heavens. Dark stuff more powerful. It’s neat! Like even today the books feel different, even when they’re extremely 2000s aesthetically. Goth vibes ftw. Less good is the gender essentialism and the caste system, which feels like a forerunner to A/B/O in some ways.
Basically, like in A/B/O, everyone has like a secondary biological gender that determines their rank in the hierarchy. So women who are born Queens are biologically meant to rule, and men are drawn to serve them. (It’s stupid, but I respect the inherent service kink aspect.) Some males are Warlords, who are more aggressive, and some men are even higher caste as Warlord Princes, who are ‘predators’ who want to murder ppl all the time, but they’re supposed to be controlled by the women I guess. They're emotionally immature alpha males. Yuck.
I still have no real idea how the fuck Terreille and Kaeleer are different tbh, one just has sentient animals? Are they different dimensions?? The physicality of the environment in this book is like wisps of smoke. Stuff just appears, usually when it needs to, and then goes away again, much like how the magical protagonists are always calling and vanishing objects.
Daughter of the Blood
For a trilogy with a deeply repetitive, emphatic style that over-relies on (dorky) catchphrases (‘and the Blood will sing to Blood,’ ‘everything has a price,’ ‘Mother Night’) each book does have a unique flavour and its own problems.
Weirdly, the thing I hated the most about the first book was the random fatphobia. I never even noticed it as a kid, but almost every time a fat character is introduced they’re a gross dude and likely a pedophile. Don’t like it, tired of seeing it, stop. I’m not even going to forgive the series for being from the early 2000s. I don’t care. Cut it out. At least it only happens in the first book.
The Mary-Sue (she really is! I mean that with affection!) Jaenelle is a child in this book, and her main problems in life are getting sent to a mental institution called Briarwood that is run by pedophiles. We also—at no point ever in the books—get her POV, so a lot of the horror is mitigated by how much the details are glossed over. I think that was meant to be more horrifying but the author isn’t good enough at building atmosphere to make that work. The book chooses a couple specifically horrible situations and then hammers into them in a way that feels both schlocky but also makes the world and the situation feel smaller. I don’t like the way repetition is used in these books. It’s certainly a choice but it’s one that drives the nuance out of book. Almost every villain in this book is a rapist, which makes the rape feel cheap by the end—and I don’t think cheapening it was the intention.
Yet, to be honest, I think this is the strongest book of the three. I actually really like the beginning, with Tersa being crazy and giving prophecies. I don’t know, the writing just draws me in somehow. It’s not great writing, I want to be clear. It’s got nothing on, idk, Tanith Lee. But it is extremely readable and compelling. I was having a good time.
Also, Lucivar and Daemon, like, kiss? And that is just about the only gay thing that you will see in the books until Daemon fakes raping his father in the third book. It is unrelentingly heterosexual otherwise. But I think I was hooked early on as a teen hoping for some gay action. I was disappointed at the time and I’m disappointed now.
This is also the book with probably the most sex and violence. Men are castrated on screen a couple times, there’s explicit cannibalism of one of the other children at Briarwood, one of our viewpoint characters is an assassin, etc etc. Much bad sex happening. Daemon and Lucivar, the hot dudes who are brothers, have been sex slaves for like 1700 years which is objectively hilarious that is SUCH an absurd amount of time to just... be more powerful (aka have darker Jewels) than any of your slavers and just not gotten free? Even with magical cock rings that control them, it's still so stupid.
Also, our main character is actually their dad, Saetan (I WILL NEVER BE OVER THESE NAMES) who is like 50k years old? That makes me giggle so much. That’s so old. Why. Honestly props to Anne Bishop, she really just went for it. I have so much respect for how batshit absurd everything is.
Honestly I just kinda like the first book? It’s paced a lot better than the other ones, it’s dark and ridiculous and full of bad things happening. Jaenelle reminds me of a friend of mine, oddly enough. She’s probably tolerable because we never get her POV.
I also liked Daemon and Jaenelle’s relationship in this one. Under the worldbuilding power fantasy terms of this setting, Jaenelle is literally made up of the dreams of people in the world, and Daemon’s dream was to be the lover of the Most Powerful Matriarch Ever, who in the book is called ‘Witch.’ So meeting her as a kid he’s constantly bombarded by his attraction to her spirit/power/Witch-self, whatever. But she’s a kid and he’s Very Not Into That. He and Saetan are constantly respecting her consent at every opportunity, so it doesn’t squick me out in the slightest.
Because you know, at that age (12-14), I would have killed for an ancient powerful lover who is The Hottest Guy In All The Realms to be all but overcome with lust for me and yet completely absolutely in service to my every need and desire.
It’s a power fantasy, yo.
Anyway the next two books will completely kill any interest I have in their relationship so really, Daughter of the Blood could have ended here and I would have been satisfied.
Heir to the Shadows
Wow, does this one have middle book syndrome. It’s a slog. Someone out there probably likes it. One of the scenes my high school friends liked is the introduction of the Arcerian cat Kaelas where he squashes the Sceltie puppy Ladvarian. I remember them telling me about it with glee. It’s cute, but not enough to save this book.
Everytime a conflict happens it’s almost instantly resolved. Jaenelle grows up, Saetan spoils her, she has friends. All the characters feel really one note. There is almost no sex in this book, but there is some gore. The extremely boring villains, Dorothea and Hekatah, who are basically the same person except one of them is undead (‘demon-dead’), do some violence. Our protagonists do more violence. There’s a unicorn genocide. I can’t keep any of the characters that are in Jaenelle’s court straight (except for Karla and the aforementioned cat and puppy).
Oh, Daemon’s just insane for the whole book, and I ended up skimming all his sections because nothing happened in them.
That sure was a book. Took me longer to read than the other two combined.
Queen of the Darkness
Back to a compelling read, somehow. I blasted through it.
A major issue I have with this series is about how power is framed. Might makes right. The good guys happen to be more powerful, so they can unleash their often bloody revenge, which is always framed as a good thing, a triumph. And also, no one just talks to each other, because bad guys are bad and good guys are good. There is no real compromise, and no nuance.
Like, Bishop is writing a matriarchy, but instead of, idk, expanding on that idea, she just kinda writes the same power imbalances that exist in our world except more villains are women, which instead of feeling empowering or whatever reeks of internalized misogyny. Yeah, I get it, women are bitches and oppressing the mens, so then the sad menz all rape vulnerable women. So it’s a patriarchy, actually, with the Queen-caste women as figureheads. WHY YOU DO THIS.
Honestly I find the ‘might makes right’ part much more problematic than any inclusion of sex slavery, unicorn genocide, or pedophilia. All the latter are perpetrated by villains; what's the excuse for the good guys?
Like this book is more about being righteous and also horny than it is trying to say stuff about politics or whatever, but it’s saying stuff about politics anyway, and what it’s saying is that the most powerful people make the rules. And being an emotionally unregulated nuclear bomb person is perfectly fine so long as you’re the good guy. And frankly, I hate that, and I disagree with it.
And ok, sure, so the Queens are supposed to emotionally regulate their Warlord Princes except that’s mostly just by hoping they hold onto their tempers until they can unleash them in a better direction which doesn’t strike me as real emotional regulation. And who’s supposed to regulate Jaenelle? Just... Jaenelle? Like theoretically the males who serve her, but the way they treat her seems more likely to cause nuclear explosions. She is herself a walking bomb.
Honestly the way males treat females in this book is gross. Men just like overprotect and patronize to the point of infantilizing a woman. And Big Yikes if she so much as gets a period—which is apparently The Worst and makes them unable to use power which THANKS I HATE IT—and it’s just awful, the men treat them like INVALIDS. Not romantic. Didn’t like it as a teen, don’t like it now.
Additionally, I don’t like how emotions and trauma are handled in this. I love a good broken traumatic character, and it's even better if they're powerful and need to navigate not causing harm whilst healing. I lap that shit up. Black Jewels fails me here. All the characters are so fucking one note and so the trauma/healing stuff feels shallow and uninspired.
Additionally, Jaenelle and Daemon are so boring and they’re ‘courting’ each other like high schoolers with zero personality and I hate it. They had better sexual chemistry when she was 12, which is probably just because Daughter of the Blood was the better written book.
Also, they got like a romancey fade to black sex scene? Yeesh.
I DO appreciate that Daemon has no magic healing dick: Jaenelle is still pretty traumatized about stuff after they bone. She’s better about sex, sure, but she’s still upset about being a Queen, etc etc. You know, this series has ooooodles of problems, but I really don’t think Jaenelle is one of them. She works for me. (Although Daemon being a virgin after 1700 years as a pleasure slave? I HATE THAT, that’s stupid. Miss me with that bullshit. At least Jaenelle is never punished by the text for not being a virgin.)
I don’t have much to say about the end. Because we go in knowing Daemon's got back up plans it takes all the tension out of the climax. The story ends with an expected triumph. The book doesn’t set up the idea that Jaenelle will die well enough either, like it’s telegraphed from the first that the Kindred will save her, and then they do. Ok then. Wow, so tense. Much thrill.
So like, I raced through reading this, sure, but it still wasn’t a satisfying read. But it wasn’t a slog. And there were some fun interactions—I enjoyed Surreal and her wolf Graysfang. There were moments.
Honestly this series is so unhinged that despite all the ridiculosity of it, I think I’m coming away feeling weirdly affectionate towards it? It’s bad, the alpha male tropes are nauseating, the matriarchy failed hard, and it’s repetitive as fuck. I’ve been thinking about this series for weeks now, and I have no idea why I find it compelling! It’s infuriating! Maybe it’s compelling because it’s infuriating.
In conclusion: I guess I’m going to read all of this garbage and yell about it. Stay tuned for the sequels.
#Amber reads the Black Jewels series#black jewels trilogy#book review#sort of more like unhinged book screaming#there's like so much other shit I could probably add to this screaming but like it's long enough#and the sequels really dig into many weaknesses#so ... yeah#why did I do this to myself

The (Re)Adventures of Marzel Amell
Sooooooo ok I ended up binge playing DA:O for the last two weeks. And it might as well have been a blind playthrough because I forgot almost everything ^_^;; Below are Carrinth's Random Observations or Things That Have Happened to Marzel (Redux):
DA armor is still ugly as sin. I'm sorry. Robes 4 lyfe.
Man I tell you, a single Heal spell makes ALL the difference. Especially early on when you don't have money or potions or skillz. Dying less apparently makes game moar fun! SHOCKING.
I have recruited Sten.
I have also recruited Shale for the first time. I love Shale. Shale is best rock. Squish me. (Not really pls don't Shale) DLC ftw!
Sten really, really, REALLY likes my warden this time wtf. His affection is the HIGHEST of everyone, second only to dog. I have no idea how that happened. O_O I just RP-ed Marzel as being very indifferent to Sten. "I'm not here to impress you, bruh." Sten is a tsundere confirmed.
I did the FADE quest. Again. I told myself it wasn't as bad this round and that I'm fine but obviously I'm not fine but you just have to hold it in and my bags are full of junk and I need to sell them bcos I needs the money but I can't leave pls pls let me out LET ME OUT!2111
Wynne talking about what makes an abomination made me have Anders/Justice feels. "If one retains one's humanity, one is not an abomination." 😥
Still bff with Jowan. We bros for life. Alistair didn't like that.
"Teagan! Who iZ dis mAN?" Idk but the second round I really enjoyed her voice-acting. She's a distraught mother close to hysterics. It's amazingly hilarious and compelling! <3
Wait. Wait. I totally forgot about Connor. So wait. We CAN CURE demonic possession??? I thought it was permanent?! No way of saving but death via a pokey sword yadda yadda?? Omg is this one of those 'we could cure you but it's too expensive and you can't afford it' scenarios? IT IS. Poor farmer's kid can't afford a pile of lyrium but if you're the son of an arl? No problem! Whole Circle bending over just to help you. Wow. Goddamn. Chantry/Circle seriously just kill mages because it's the cheaper alternative! >:O
MMmmmm. People say I should save Orzammar for last because it is harder. But. Oghren. But. Difficult. But OGHREN. But BROODMOTHER. DO YOU NOT REMEMBER THE SUFFERING OF DEEP ROADS?! .......... OGHREN. Marzel and friends died a lot. Mostly because I stubbornly wanted my party to consist of Oghren and Shale. That's like, two warriors ugh. We got by. Shale extra conversations were worth it ;)
Got Flemeth's grimoire for Morrigan. Formed a team made only of dude-bros to help Marzel get laid. Which meant they had to make do without any healing or bard song. I named them... the Snu Snu Squad (affectionate). Zevran died almost immediately. (Note: Dragon bum be dangerous position) Marzel stupidly killed his own self with blood magic while throwing his single Heal spell >_> MVP goes to Alistair for keeping alive long enough to whittle away Flemeth's health and died just exact moment Sten landed a killing blow. Grimoire was given and snu snu was had!
Marzel is in weird love triangle where all romancable persons love him. This cannot end well.
Why are there so many Desire demons? Holy crap, with the DLCs I have encountered no less than 4. Were there always this many?? Are Fereldans so horny?
People who challenge MAGES to duels deserve to die... from stupidity. I don't make the rules. You sir, have a pointy stick. Marzel can conjure blizzards and crushing barriers with his fingertips. We are not the same.
MANA CLASH IS OP.
Ok I just read codex that those Wild Sylvan trees are possessed by Rage demons?? Omg. They are Angry Trees. Low-key wanna see Justice fight Angry Trees while yelling about demons.
Haha I missed this game. Now onward to Sacred Ashes and moar stuff I can't remember!

People are out here going "oh wen qing would kill jgy out of revenge for her family" when 1. not the point 2. wen qing killed jin ling, jiang cheng, and lan wangji to reach the finals she is A DEAD WOMAN if wwx gets his hands on her. Airlifting them out wouldnt work because he'd kill her on their way out. No solidarity when she's covered in the blood of his loved ones
right??????? like why do the actions they have taken over the course of the games magically not count
airlift bloodbath ftw

I’m back lol 🐝
I thought of like an AU, so like ace has red eyes that are suppose to be cat like, his fave color is red and based on how he is (and I’m p sure it’s implied in canon) he stays up late so I’m talking vampire ace. And depending on the media vampires are either supernatural or more in the magic side so I would lean more towards magic. Maybe they’re just like fae or beastmen in that they are not undead, they’re just different from humans. Fae are implied to be batter at magic than humans I think so maybe vampire magic is a little different, ace also says his dad has no magic so maybe he’s like half vampire I think that would be cool, honestly this whole thing came about after thinking about how cute ace would be in bat form. Some stories also have vampires turn into rats or woods but I also read a version where they turned into cats, that would be cute too lol
Anyway sorry for making this so long lol, half vampire ace with cool vampire magic ftw, I think it would be cool for their to be more not so human characters
Oooh, honestly I would love to see that
I actually had a small idea to myself a couple of days ago where Ace was half fae lmao
Anyways, (I'm gonna use Marceline to base this off of). Ace eating red food and cherry pie because he's able to eat red foods as well as blood, however he finds raw meat gross and he much rather prefers sugar highs anyways
A little TreyAce where Trey has Ace tasting all the cherry and strawberry deserts because Ace can't get sick from it and it evolves into them just talking and yeah ♡ just try feeding Ace food and kicking anything that spread on his cheek ♡

Ftws mentioned Blood witches instead of simply calling them witches or something else. Does that imply there are other types of witches, or is the blood part just to emphasize their element?
I like the idea of witches being people who obtained magic powers, and they can get different powers through different means, with blood witches being just one example.

Atem as a Survivor
Teachable Perks: Shadow Games, Heart of the Cards, Last Rites
Shadow Games "You've been forced into dark trials against impossible odds before. One could say your familiarity with the Shadow Realm has prepared you for this." Whenever the Killer would be able to read your Aura, your Aura is hidden for half of the time it would be revealed, and you are able to see the Killer's Aura for the duration they would've revealed yours. (The reference here is pretty obvious. Atem/Yami is from the birthplace of the Shadow Games, plus he's been involved in them as well as sending people to the Shadow Realm.)
Heart of the Cards "Through the power of the Millennium Puzzle and the belief you're destined to succeed, you'll change your fate." Every time a Survivor, including yourself is hooked, gain 1 token, up to a maximum of 8 tokens. Gain the following effects based on the number of tokens:
2 tokens: The volume of noises you make while healthy and injured is reduced by 30%.
4 tokens: Your scratch marks and pools of blood fade 15% faster.
6 tokens: Your repair speed, healing speed, unhooking speed, cleansing speed, and blessing and cleansing speed is increased by 10%.
8 tokens: You open exit gates 20% faster. You're also able to see the Aura of Hatch within a 32-meter radius.
(This is a reference to the power of the Millennium Puzzle affecting Atem's odds during duels of drawing just what he needs to win when his back is against the wall. He benefits from he and his fellows getting their asses kicked and being in danger of losing. Also heart of the cards ftw.)
Last Rites "Death isn't so terrifying when you've already been dead for millennia. So what if this is a cycle of living and dying?" This perk activates when you are one hook away from instant death and you have completed the equivalent of one generator. When there is one less generator left to complete than there are Survivors left in the match, you can press the Active Ability button to lose one Health State and gain the Broken Status Effect for the remainder of the Trial. The exit gates become powered. Your Aura is permanently revealed to the Killer. You open the exit gates 20% slower. (Atem is supposed to be in the afterlife. He's gonna take great risks to save his friends/the other Survivors from being as dead as he's meant to be, I guess.)
The Nameless Pharaoh as a Killer
Power: Shadow Draw The Nameless Pharaoh can summon three of his loyal Duel Monsters one at a time to make the Survivors suffer in different ways. Special Ability: Summon Monster Press and hold the Power button to choose and summon a monster. Only one monster can be in play at a time.
Dark Magician: Ranged attacker. Will target Survivors within 32 meters of its summoning position with a Dark Magic Attack that inflicts Blindness for 20 seconds when it hits as well as causing the Survivor to lose a Health State. It doesn't move from its summoned location and disappears 30 seconds after being summoned. --There is a 5% chance Dark Magician Girl will be summoned alongside Dark Magician, in which case the range and duration of the attack and summon will be doubled, and the Magicians will target each Survivor that enters the 32-meter radius twice, potentially putting a healthy Survivor into the dying state.
Kuriboh: Multiplies quickly and seeks out any Survivor within its line of sight. Kuriboh and its copies grab onto the Survivors, Hindering them by 3% for each one that latches on. A max of 4 Kuriboh can be on any given Survivor at a time. Kuriboh and its copies disappear after 30 seconds or when the Survivor they're attached to enters the dying state.
Celtic Guardian: Destroys any dropped pallets within 64 meters of its summoned location in one swing of its blade. If a Survivor is near a dropped pallet when it is destroyed, there is a 50% chance the debris strikes them and causes them to lose a Health State. It disappears immediately after this and cannot be summoned if there are no dropped pallets nearby.
Weapon: Duel Disk "Who knew just a little sharpening of its edge by the shadows could make a fancy toy into a deadly weapon?"
Teachable Perks: Trap Card, Mind Crush, Swords of Revealing Light
Trap Card "You revel in these times when your foes play right into your hands, even if you don't remember why." After causing a generator to regress, this perk activates. The Aura of any Survivor who touches the generator within 60 seconds is revealed to you and they are afflicted with the Oblivious Status Effect. Both effects linger for 5 seconds after a Survivor stops repairing, and the first time any Survivor stops repairing an affected generator, it will trigger a Loud Noise Notification and the perk's effects on the generator deactivate. This perk has a cooldown of 80 seconds. (You've activated my Trap Card!)
Mind Crush "The shadowy powers granted to your through the pendant around your neck enable you to break the minds of the weak-willed. They probably deserve it." Whenever you cause a Survivor to lose a Health State, all Survivors within your Terror Radius are afflicted with the Blindness and Oblivious Status Effect for 20 seconds. Any Survivor performing an action will also have a difficult Skill Check triggered that, if failed, will cause 8% regression on their action progression. (A very blatant reference to Yami's infamous power that is most known to have been used on Kaiba in the first episode.)
Swords of Revealing Light "Sometimes locking down the opponents' objective is the best way to by yourself enough time to pull off the victory." Whenever a generator is completed, all remaining generators are blocked by the Entity for 10 seconds. The Auras of any Survivor within 16 meters of any generator are revealed for the same amount of time. When the final generator is completed, every Survivor's Aura is revealed to you for 10 seconds. (Reference to a specific card mainly used by Yami and Yugi.)
(The Nameless Pharaoh's add-ons would be stuff that boosts his monsters' abilities, such as ensuring Dark Magician Girl spawns every time Dark Magician does, but I'm not going into further detail.)
(I just thought it'd be fun to make Atem into both a Survivor and a Killer, depending on when the Entity grabbed him. Nameless Pharaoh would be before or as Yugi is solving the Puzzle, thus rendering him more like his Season 0 counterpart than anything, while Atem would be grabbed as he was going to the afterlife following his duel against Yugi.)
Have this random thingamabob combining two of my obsessions: Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dead By Daylight.
Ryou Bakura as a Survivor
Teachable Perks: Occult Recall, Shadow Insight, Roleplayer
Occult Recall "You have an uncanny ability--or is it a curse?--to never lose anything for long, even when you'd rather never find it again." Start the trial with 1 token. Whenever a generator is complete, gain another token, up to a maximum of 3 tokens at a time. While not holding an item, press the Active Ability button. The last item you interacted with will appear in your inventory with half of its total charges. If you use all the charges of the item after using Occult Recall, it is consumed, and cannot be recalled again. (This is a reference to the Millennium Ring always finding its way back to Bakura, no matter how many times it's taken or lost.)
Shadow Insight "Being possessed by a dark spirit has left you with an understanding of how such people think." The Killer's aura is visible to you whenever you are in the Killer's Terror Radius. This effect lasts for 3 seconds after leaving the Killer's Terror Radius. (This, of course, references the spirit of the Millennium Ring, also known as Yami Bakura or Thief King Bakura.)
Roleplayer "Games have always been a part of your life. Might as well be a part of keeping you alive, too." Every time a totem is cleansed, gain 1 token, up to a maximum of 3 tokens. When you have the maximum tokens, use the Active Ability button to change Roleplayer into one random Perk you have available for this survivor. You keep that Perk equipped for the rest of the trial. (Bakura's introduction in the manga involves a tabletop rpg, so naturally I had to work that into his abilities.)
That's all I got for now. Just Ryou. But I got inspired and decided to put it out there, anyway.

Fate: The Winx Saga - Season 2
Spoilers for FTWS Season 2
I only recently discovered Fate: The Winx Saga and, to be honest, I had not expected to enjoy it as much as I did.
There were many things I liked about season 1, but what really drew me to the show were the adult characters, specifically Farah and Saul. I was intrigued by their shared history and how obviously they cared for each other. Sure, the show focusses on the students, but I had hoped to learn a bit more about the teachers as the story continued.
Despite how season 1 ended, I still went into season 2 somewhat optimistic. After all, it’s a show about fairies and magic, so there could have been a way to bring Farah back to life. I had fully intended to stay away from spoilers, but I think I managed to get to episode 2x04 before I caved and went online to see whether Farah would come back or not. And I’m glad I did, even if it was just to avoid being hit by the full force of the emotional rollercoaster that was her brief return.
Clearly, I would have liked her to stay on the show, but if it wasn’t to be at least we got closure and a proper goodbye. I can live with that and I do appreciate the effort that went into making those final scenes possible.
What I do have issues with though, is Saul’s behaviour in season 2. Season 1 established that Farah, Saul and Ben went through a lot together. They are friends. Farah and Saul had a lot of shared scenes in season 1 that showed just how close they are. And suddenly in season 2 Saul doesn’t seem to care anymore. WTF?!
I have a feeling season 2 may not have been what the creators had originally intended. They had to recast some roles because the actors couldn’t return due to scheduling conflicts with other work they were doing and Eve Best got cast in HotD, which probably (understandably) sealed Farah’s fate. I’ve also seen other posts on here saying that they originally announced 8 episodes, rather than the 7 the second season now consists of. So it seems like they had to make some changes that weren’t necessarily planned and that may have impacted the story they were able to tell.
If they had to cut down the number of episodes, they would have had to condense the story. It’s understandable that they would do so where the supporting characters (e.g. the teachers) are concerned. After all, the show isn’t about them. But did they really have to do it to an extent where Saul seems OOC compared to season 1? It wouldn’t have taken much, just one or two lines to show that he actually cares about what happened to Farah. A noticeable reaction to the news of her death… But there was nothing and that really bothers me.
The same goes for why he ended up working for Rosalind btw. I mean, yes, I can come up with all kinds of reasons for all of the above. For example, at first, he was too busy to escape to go look for Farah. After he got captured, he worked with Rosalind to protect Sky. When they finally found out about Farah, Rosalind was dead, he had the Blood Witches to deal with and maybe he tried to keep it together in front of the students. Those are all good reasons that may have worked, but the show didn’t give us a single one of those. Instead, they made him seem very different from the Saul we saw in season 1. And while I’m all for headcanons and fanfics, I don’t like having to come up with them just to make sense of what happens on the show and I don’t think I should have to. That’s the show’s job.
