Because it's not clear to anyone with an iota of media literacy that Ozzie had no idea this would be a life or death trial, let alone one focusing on his lover's best friend, until it was happening. The lunch thing was well before the damn trial happened. Probably hours before. Also, as I have said over and over and over to this tired ass 'argument', the fact that Blitz's actions are legal now do not change the fact that he started off illegally.
Buying and owning a car does not unsteal the one you stole last year, nor does it make that suddenly not a crime because oh, well, you're driving a legally owned vehicle now. Not only that but for fuck's sake will you people get it through your heads that no one was going to listen to Ozzie??? No one listened to Bee. No one listened to Vassago. They were not there for a fair trial. Nothing anyone said was going to change the outcome of this 'trial' save someone else taking the blade for Blitz, the way Stolas does. It doesn't matter if Ozzie was giving him a legal way to earth now. That wasn't what Blitz was on trial for. Blitz stood accused of many, many heinous things. And don't you think that if just standing up as a character witness would have changed anything, Bee would have impacted something? Don't you think Stolas would have done something besides jumping straight to trading his life for Blitz's? Did none of you hear what Blitz said at the end? Because he was right and it was true. Satan was never going to listen to anyone. Maybe, maybe if they’d managed to vote in a proper trial, he would have been forced to, but the rational people in the room lost the vote. The only reason Stolas got heard was because he made such a big scene, made himself impossible to ignore- and was the point of the trial in the first place.
Vassago vs Asmodeus
The most egregious thing about Asmodeus in Mastermind isn't his lack of action. It's how he participates in and upholds corrupt systems of power. When Satan asserts the he is the law, all of the Sins rise from their seats to sing backup for Satan. "He is the law".
Tumblr media
You know who doesn't participate? Vassago.
Tumblr media
On top of being the only Goetia to question the trial, he was also the only one who didn't harmonize along with Satan when he was asserting his absolute power and authority. Vassago, having no context or prior knowledge, only having the information that was fed to him, could sense that something was wrong and refused to participate in it. Asmodeus, knowing more about the situation than anyone else in the room, knowing the true nature of Stolas' and Blitz' relationship, remained quiet. He only spoke up once, and only after Bee spoke first. He raised his hand in wanting a more complete trial, but he stood behind Satan all the same. He upheld the corruption and abuse of power, knowing fully well that Satan was in the wrong. Refusing to participate in corrupt power structures is already something we've seen in the Hellaverse with Vaggie and Emily. And yes, Vaggie and Emily also faced consequences for refusing to participate. And no, their individual actions weren't enough to change anything either. So what? Vaggie, Emily, and Vassago stood by their morals. They did what was right. They saw corruption and abuse, and spoke out and refused to participate. Even if your actions and words have no sway or power, you're supposed to do what's right, and refuse to participate in what's wrong. It's probably true that even if Asmodeus had spoken out, the outcome wouldn't have changed. And while not speaking out, and hiding the truth he was sitting on is a big issue, that's not the point I'm trying to make here. Asmodeus saw corruption and abuse, and willingly participated in it and upheld it. Asmodeus has proven that he will protect the hierarchy of Hell above what is right, that he will protect and uphold it even when he knows that what it's doing is wrong. And that he will even uphold it over Fizz and to Fizz's detriment. Vassago didn't participate. Emily and Vaggie didn't participate. Asmodeus did.

Stolas has always been "Single"...
Tumblr media
One thing I've noticed people say that genuinely disturb me is when they think Stolas should learn how to be single...
Guys, Stolas has been "single" his entire fucking life.
On paper, he may have been "married".
But Stolas was married to a partner that treated him like shit, and forced him to live a life constrained from being his gay ass self.
Tumblr media
People are treating the relationship he had with Blitz as them being in an actual romantic relationship, but as Blitz stated...
Tumblr media
To Blitz, he and Stolas were never in an actual romantic relationship because let's face it, it's true.
Blitz simply operated under the terms that Stolas had set for them in their full moon romps.
Remember guys....
Tumblr media
This man is an emotionally-inept dumbass, who automatically assumes the worse. Of course, he's not going to see any of Stolas’s invites as anything other than Stolas just wanting him for his body.
Is it right? No, of course not.
But this is Blitz, and I'm not expecting a man who has been suppressing every single major emotion and traumatic event in his life for 15 years (prior to GF) to pick up any of the hints Stolas was dropping. He's a dumbass.
Tumblr media
So yes, Stolas has never been in an actual relationship, and I don't think he needs to learn how to be "single" when he's been single his entire fucking life.
The man doesn't need to learn to be happy alone when he's always been alone!
Tumblr media
"You wanna know what I want? I want to know what it's like, to not be alone. I want to be someone's someone. I want to feel wanted. But like, in a romantic way, like I'm standing out in the rain at a train station and someone is shouting: “Harriet! Don’t get on that train, it’s going to London and I cannot be without you!”"
"I just... want someone to care if I stay or go. I want someone to want... me! To want to see me. To hold me. To look at me and think "You're the only one I want!" [sheds tears] "I desire to hold you and talk to you, and never let you feel so...""
So yeah, I really don't think Stolas needs to learn to be happy alone. He knows what it's like to be alone, he's always been alone.
~~~~~~~~~~
And you know what I want?
Tumblr media
Maybe I just want, this sad gay 🦉 to give this equally as sad and lonely pan 🦎 another chance...
Tumblr media
Because, you know, even though he's an emotionally-inept dumbass and a motherfucker...
Tumblr media
He's charismatic and charming...
Tumblr media
He's good at fighting...
Tumblr media
He's protective...
Tumblr media
He knows how to have fun...
Tumblr media
He's got the most beautiful smile...
Tumblr media
He's hot as fuck...
And I also heard...
Tumblr media
He's got a pretty cool family.
Yeen's Blitzwing Headcanons!
Been going nuts about analyzing this big silly bot so here's some HC's
So, to start, I don’t think Blitzwing was one bot split in three, but two smashed together.
Blitz’s Icy face was a seeker, the off-color spaces on his cheeks even being the perfect place for where his theoretical vents would have been.
Tumblr media
Hothead was a tanker, and while we get only one example of a “pure” tank cybertronian in TFA in the form of Warpath…
Tumblr media
…you can see my vision here, right?
If you go with the ”split” method, no matter which face was the “original”, the other elemental power and alt mode had to come from somewhere.
But if Icy was the jet, and Hothead was the tank, where does Random come in? To answer that, I wanna get into the process of becoming a triple-changer.
The procedure could have been a way to try to make a super soldier, master of the land as well as the sky. Adding on Icy and Hothead’s elemental powers, the resulting individual would, in theory, be an unstoppable force.
If this sounds somewhat familiar, it should. A possibility for how Safeguard exists could be because the Autobots caught intel about the Triple Changer experiments. However, they would have had to make some serious adjustments since canonically, every single attempt to create a Triple Changer has either failed or ended up wildly unstable mentally. Blitzwing might even be in Megatron's inner circle purely because he’s the only “functional” Triple Changer to exist.
My thoughts for how the process goes is that not only are the frames and abilities combined into one, but their minds are combined as well.
Two consciousnesses being forced together, with all their memories and experiences preferably intact (that way your perfect soldier doesn’t have to re-learn to walk and talk), it causes an existential dissonance. Imagine being bombarded with the memories of someone else, and expected by everyone around you that they are yours now.
The resulting existential crisis burns out the processors, offlining the lucky, and maddens whoever manages to survive.
You have to be the cybertronian equivalent of drift compatible in order for it to go even decently well. Blitzy’s components were close, but not there yet.
What spared them the fate of other failed Triple Changers is a few precautions from Blackarachnia. She had the foresight to stick a third, empty processor in Blitzwing’s head to act as a buffer for the huge influx of data, as well as EMP-ing him as soon as the Existential Dissonance was occurring. This wiped the majority of his memories of his life before the procedure, but even all that wasn’t enough.
The trauma of the procedure, being torn apart and put back together again, as well as the Dissonance (whether they remember it or not), it was too much...leading Random to manifest within that empty processor.
Tumblr media
Now, what brought me to this conclusion? Time for my amateur psychoanalysis under the cut!
To start, the expected disclaimers.
I am not a psychologist, and I do not claim to be. This whole thing is just for fun, and over-analysis of media I like is a big pastime for me. I also do not have DID, and anyone who does that has objections and/or critiques of my analysis, I fully encourage you to voice your thoughts.
Also, keep in mind that cybertronian brains likely don’t work one-to-one with how humans do, and that there’s no true equivalent to what Blitzwing is in terms of human psychology.
With that out of the way, with these headcanons in mind, Icy and Hothead are not alternate personalities in the psychological sense, seeing as they were once completely separate bots.
But Random is.
Random acts as something of a mediator or moderator for Icy and Hothead, in order to keep them somewhat balanced and working as a team. See the Jet-Tank argument, with him popping up to propose a compromise.
While all three faces can and do hold their own, to me Random especially acts as a protector. Examples being him headbutting Lugnut in ‘Lost and Found’ and his sudden change of trajectory in ‘Velocity’ (Never give up, never surrender, nevermind!). Bringing up the Jet-Tank argument again, he notably pops up while the sirens of the “autobot reinforcements” are getting closer and louder.
As for why Random pops in just to make jokes, humor is often used as a coping mechanism [he just like me fr], and not only did Blitzwing’s components go through the Triple Changer procedure, but millions of years of war. It’s no wonder, really.
And while a lot of Random’s jokes are very much “haha I’m so craaazy”, that feels like it’s more of a cry for help. Blitzwing is hyper-aware of his condition, and self depreciates as a way to cope [he just like me for realllllll :,)].
In conclusion, someone get this mech in Rung’s office, he desperately needs a psychotherapist (cyber-therapist?).
As a side note, something I really like is that, despite the nicknames for his faces in the Almanacs (that I used here mostly for clarity), Blitzwing is just referred to as Blitzwing, no matter what face is up front.
You know, I think I finally understand what bothered me about Blitz's behavior in Sinsmas
It's not that he was being was being grateful to Stolas, it makes sense, Stolas saved his life and lost his powers and position because of it, so it makes sense.
But since when has Blitz been so openly loving?
In previous episodes, we saw that Blitz pushes away the people he loves, and in Apology tour he showed that he wanted to improve, and I thought that after Mastermind, when he realized that he really loves Stolas,we would start to see this develop, him slowly starting to learn to love
But no, he's just being a lover boy, as if all his traumas involving relationships had been resolved in a single episode.
Again, the problem isn't that he's grateful to Stolas, it's that he acts as if all the previous problems in their relationship didn't exist in the first place.
The last time they spoke to each other they were not on good terms, and when they saw each other again Stolas sacrificed his powers and position to save Blitz, it should have been at least embarrassing for them to talk to each other after everything that happened
I think a good way to do this would be if Blitz was trying really hard to be grateful to him, too much so, because whether you like it or not, it's an awkward situation.
Let's take an example, the last time you spoke to your friend you had a huge fight, and when you see him again, he ends up losing his job to help you, even though you are obviously grateful to him,It would still be an awkward situation to talk to him after everything that happened
Like,The montage COUDLVE had them build up them beginning to get comfortable with each other again, rather than just blitz trying to cheer up Stolas
But no, instead, they are already acting like a cute couple who have been dating for a long time, like none of the previous arguments and fights they had ever happened.
And again, I'll repeat from last time, the problem isn't him being grateful to him, but rather them acting like a super cute couple as if none of the previous problems they had with each other had ever happened.
I was hoping that this would be the beginning of their real relationship,after all, apology tour and Ghostf#ckers shows that Blitz wants to become a better person so he starts opening up to others and not push away the people he loves, and I thought we would see his development for that,that we would see him becoming a better person.
that Blitz would really start to have a development for him to start opening up lovingly to Stolas.
But no, they just act like a cute couple and don't address the previous problems in their relationship.
(NSFW Question) How would the RO’s act in a situation involving an aphrodisiac? Say Mc accidentally ate something that makes them extremely uncomfortable until they have sex, though the effects aren’t permanent or life-threatening. Would any of the RO’s be willing to help them out? Deep crushing but pre-relationship :3
(NSFW content warning. Not explicit, but very suggestive.)
S: As soon as they realise what your symptoms are demonstrating, S is very conflicted. They've read how unbearably uncomfortable the effects are, so they want to help. Not to mention the self-control it has already taken them to take it slow and court you properly, as you deserve. When S imagined falling into bed with you, it was after a romantic evening or bold love confession. It didn't involve the risk of rolling over after the deed with a deep regret.
In the end, they can't bring themselves to do it. They will stand guard, wait on you hand and foot, give you everything you desire... everything except them.
"I know you are strong enough to withstand this; should you feel the same after... perhaps we can talk."
Rain: They hesitate. In any other instance of you begging, they wouldn't. Absolutely not. They've been craving to see you like this for a long time. They've imagined countless ways to steal your breath; their imagination has kept them good company on many a lonely night. But it frightens them to believe you only ask out of necessity and not desire.
Still, they can't resist. They have ached for you much too long, and your heated gaze is enough to set their heart ablaze.
"Tell me how I can take it away. Breathe the word, and I am yours."
Taj: Taj realised their feelings were genuine only recently. In the middle of another verbal spar with you, they imagined your absence, and it hit them like a punch to the gut. They see you now, desperate and wanton, and fuck, do they ever want to give in. Had this happened before... when they thought you were nothing more than a chirping bird, they would have. No hesitation. It wouldn't be the first time they've rolled into bed with someone for the sake of fucking.
But now it matters. God, why does it have to matter?
"Ask me again when you're not blitzed out of your mind, Koel. I want to know when I'm making you beg, it's me your begging for."
N: All it takes is one heated gaze and whispered "please" for them to fall to their knees in front of you. They are no stranger to the effects of such a potent aphrodisiac, having fallen victim to such a ploy from their enemies. Except, they were locked into a dark room after, bound, left to rot. Why use pain to inflict torture when pleasure can be just as excruciating and lacks the mess?
They will satisfy you for as long as you desire. Then, they will don their mask that keeps them protected, smile, and leave. Feelings do not need to play a part. They cannot afford to expose themselves to you.
"Whisper your every desire, my dear; I want to hear everything."
Umbra: They can't stand it. They watch as you writhe and squirm before your eyes lock onto theirs, and you beg, "I need you". The words are their Achilles heel, and they fall to their knees like a devotee might pray at an altar.
"Tell me how."
Nothing can be worse than watching you struggle. If they can take it away, they will. There is not a single thing in this world they would not do for you.
Something that helluva boss is incredibly brave in doing is refusing to bow down to any kind of black and white morality system.
First and foremost I should bring up is how some so called "critics" of this show have attempted to claim that vivi is an "elitist apologist" because striker is a villain and it doesn't make the simple "eat the rich" ideology the most moral one.
I know that especially in times like these that resentment and anger towards those who are behind the massive mess we find ourselves in is at an all time high and 99% of it is totally and completely justified but one thing we have to remember is that the moment we stop considering another group as some evil and/or lesser we cross a very dangerous line.
What many of these people fail to understand is that the fact of the matter is that not every one of the "bourgeois" is a single minded monster determined to ruin the lives of the common folk for their own amusement. For sure the elites of the world are often the cause of most of our problems but acting as if they are simply evil by nature of what class they were born into is bigotry plan and simple.
People have a problem with conflating revenge with justice. Some people will insist that villains like magnetio and kill monger where justified in their actions because they only wished to bring an end to systemic oppression but the reality is that the mere act of opposesing systemic abuse and oppression is not some grand moral statement that places one above all criticism it just means you have enough compassion and Decency to understand that building systems that force people into horrible and unfair places is wrong which shouldn't be treated as if it's some massive moral revaluation!!
Strikers character is all about this folly. He's supposed to be a deconstruction of the idea that all it takes to fix a society is to give it the right leader because sometimes the problems with system are just too deeply rooted and much like a rotten foundation of a house the whole thing has to knocked down to start from scratch. He also embodies the folly that simply removing the people that created and corrupt system will magically make the system go away.
In some ways it makes sense that people would think this way. Many times when a tyrant is exposed as fallible in any way even against something as unbickqoutus as death their cults of personality die with them. But other times their influence will never seem to die and their will always be stupid, ignorant and/or evil people who will continue to rally to their vile cause even after it's creators death.
The point I'm trying to make is that what some people don't seem to understand is that their is more to social justice than just yelling "eat the rich!" And "fuck the one percent!" You have to actually look a the real problems of society, their causes and how to fix them and not be naive enough to belive that killing rich people indiscriminately will cause the world's evils and oppressive systems to vanish into thin air.
I've said it before and I will say it again. Striker is nothing but a bag of hot air and if you couldn't figure that out even after he had his own song about his own "greatness" then I'm not sure I can help you. Striker represents a type of villain some people on the left side of the political spectrum Don't want to acknowledge (for fair reasons as this often used to deny any form of societal reform) a performative Activest and a fake revolutionary. He is a reminder that there is a right and a wrong way to go about toppling corrupt systems. Their is blitzs way of actually doing something that would help your fellow victims of the system and help them rise up and then their is strikers way of yelling "eat the rich" expecting people to bow down to your Riddick and respect you for the most basic of social commentary and doing anything and everything to hurt those above you regardless if they are actually responsible for the injustices of the system all while comprising your "ideals" in the support of your own personal need for power and revenge.
I want to talk a bit about the deal that Stolas and Blitz make in Helluva Boss.
Blitz should not have stolen the grimoire from Stolas because stealing is wrong. Stolas does need the grimoire to do his job, but we're never actually shown what that job is.
Stolas threatening to take the grimoire away from Blitz holds a lot more weight because we know what Blitz has to lose from that. If Blitz can't keep his business going then Millie, Moxxie, Loona, and himself are all out of a job, their homes, and living on the streets. We know that imps and hellhounds are on the bottom of the totem pole for Hell so it's easy to assume that living on the streets for them would be incredibly dangerous. Being homeless isn't a joke and it's likely going to be very hard for them to get other jobs seeing as they all came from Wrath and other demons are bigoted against them (like in Western Energy).
What does Stolas lose from not having the grimoire? He's been allowing Blitz to have it for many months/up to a year. We don't see anything that he's supposed to be doing other than the Harvest Moon Festival which is a single day out of the year. He takes the book back on the full moon but we never see what he does with it, so does he even really need it in the first place? What does he do that would get him in trouble or not doing it and what would happen to him if he was caught not fulfilling his duties? There's no weight to Stolas not having the grimoire because we don't know what's at stake. It makes it seem like he doesn't actually need it as an immortal demon that can simply wait until Blitz is ugly-old or dies before he picks up whatever it is that he's supposed to be doing.
We also know from the Pilot and Murder Family that Stolas waited quite a while before he decided to call Blitz up and strike the deal. We're shown that they've already had time to fill a commercial with a jingle, air it on TV, and have a graph with prophets. It doesn't make sense for Stolas to do this if he desperately needed the grimoire for his job. This implies that he waited for Blitz to feel secure in his job with his company and lose all the other options he might have had before he struck up the deal.
Then there comes the actual deal itself. He calls Blitz and refuses to listen to him when Blitz tells him that it's not a good time, ignoring the fact that he can see Blitz through the bubbles in the bath and hear the gunshots and screaming from the woman. He picks this specific moment to make Blitz agree to the deal because he knows that Blitz will have his guard down and not think about it fully.
The deal itself also removes Blitz's consent. He has to do whatever Stolas wants on the full moon and doesn't have the ability to say no. If Stolas wants to do bondage, then they do bondage even if Blitz doesn't want to. If Stolas wants to dirty talk about how sexy imps are (despite this being massively classist and racist) then he gets to. If Stolas wants to put out his cigarettes on Blitz's horns then he gets to, despite how obviously uncomfortable it makes him.
The deal also empowers Stolas to make unwanted and uncomfortable remarks. Blitz explicitly tells him to stop making sexual remarks and hitting on him in Loo Loo Land, and his response is to tell Blitz that he's cute when he's serious and touch him despite revoked consent. He does this several times throughout the show, which further proves the point that Blitz doesn't get to have consent.
People will also argue that Blitz started this by sleeping with Stolas on that first night. However, we can see in that scene in the Circus that Stolas is the one that said Blitz was there to ravage him and Blitz was only trying to play off of it so that he could escape and get to safety. He decided to have sex with Stolas because he doesn't have good impulse control, that's evident when Verosika tells us what he did when they broke up and him breaking into the palace in the first place.
The implication that because Blitz said yes to sex when he broke in means that he wants to be forced to have sex every month with someone he doesn't like is gross. It means that if you say yes to something, one time, then you are saying yes to that thing over and over again. It also implies that if you say yes to sex with a partner then you have to agree to everything that they want you to do.
I've also seen the argument that Blitz asked to have the month off a couple of times, but this isn't true. During the brief moment where Stolas felt guilty for keeping Blitz in this deal, he offered to skip the month and Blitz immediately took it. This is a big fucking sign that Blitz didn't want to be doing this in the first place and more evidence that Stolas doesn't actually need the book every month.
Stolas set up the deal for his own gain and that was it. This is why he throws such a huge fit when Blitz doesn't swoon over him and immediately confess his own love once he hands over the crystal. He thinks that he can be benevolent by allowing this imp to live the life that Blitz fought tooth and nail for and get whatever he wants. The crystal wasn't a way for Blitz to be free, it was another exchange for Stolas to get his way.
Stolas, Yuno Gasai, and Delusional Attachments
Tumblr media
Introduction
*awkwardly taps mic*
Heeeyyyy everyone. Apologies for not being online in a while. I know I have been rather slow with this next essay, but in my defense I have been very embarrassed with the direction I want to take it. So I beg everyone to listen before judging me for making a connection between Yuno Gasai and Stolas. PLEASE HEAR ME OUT I PROMISE I AM SMART!
*ahem*
Trigger Warnings: Mentions of abuse, Yanderes, Mentions of Svicide
Major Warning: Mirai Nikki/Future Diary is an intense anime. I watched it WAY to young and therefore feel a need to tell you all the anime has graphic violence, nvdity, and major character death. Only people 18+ should be viewing it and even then please check the tags on My Anime List.
Moving on I will be discussing the delusional attatchments Stolas has through the lens of my top kin, Yuno Gasai. (I'm not being edgy, I just have abandonment issues, please hear me out, I am smart)
Tumblr media
For anyone new to who Yuno Gasai is, she is a yandere (AGAIN HEAR MY ASS OUT BEFORE YA'LL GO, SIT YOUR ASS DOWN AND STOP SCROLLING). Yuno's story revolves around her being unable to cope with the abuse she struggles with.
As a child Yuno had parents who were both incredibly abusive to her. Anytime Yuno misbehaved or wasn't perfect she was locked in a dog kennel and starved. In an alternate timeline we learn the starvation is so bad that she starts eating the tatami mats on the floor.
Yuno due to her abuse randomly attaches herself to Yuki, hanging onto a promise that he'll marry her. Yuki was clearly joking with her, but Yuno clings to that promise in the future, to the point she is willing to take out anyone and everyone or destroy whole timelines to be with him.
Yuno's attachment to Yuki is sort of random, but means so much to her that she is willing to go through hellfire and brimstone to get him even if it means retraumatizing herself over and over again.
Question 1: How does Yuno relate to Stolas?
Tumblr media
As a child, we know Stolas struggles in a world that doesn't care about his free will. He has no parental support. His life has been decided for him and there is no escape from his fate. His life and story has been written for him with no consent or change of his own.
Stolas doesn't have a choice.
He sees Blitz once, in a sense of perceived freedom and ability to choose his life.
Think of the princesses from Mulan 2. They think the lives of other girls in their country is free and exciting, when actually their fates are sadly so familiar.
Tumblr media
They have this idea of what these girls perceived freedom is like, when most girls in China at that time dealt with similar marital arrangements as the princesses as we see in Mulan 1.
Yuno herself is stuck in a situation where she cannot escape her abusers and imprints her happy ending on Yuki as a mental escape from her situation.
Tumblr media
Yuno becomes desperate to protect her relationship with Yuki, a connection she made by herself. Yuno in the series refers to Yuki as: "It's like I'm trapped in a pit and he's my rope ladder." He's her only hope and way out of her situation. The only solace she has in the terrible world she is in.
For Stolas, Blitz functions in the exact same way. For twenty five years, he dreamt about Blitz. Wanted to be with him. Wanted to be loved by him. Even if all of it was built on a single day of friendship and delusion alone.
However, there is a quote that Yuno says that I believe relates to Stolas and Blitz's dynamic that means a lot to me as a Stolas and Yuno kinnie:
Tumblr media
"I was practically dead, but you gave me a future."
When we meet Stolas, he is incredibly depressed. Socially he is an outcast thanks to Stella's behaviors to ostracize him from everyone else. From what we know the man has no friends outside of his daughter, Vassago, and Blitz.
Tumblr media
His life is constant torment and pain. Everyday is just another day closer to Octavia turning 18 and him finally being able to enact the thoughts he has probably had for years now. Everything in his world was bleak and then...
Tumblr media
BOOM!
Suddenly the world had color again.
And since this exact moment... Stolas had a future. He was practically dead before Blitz came into his life and took him on this world wind tour of the ups and downs of life to be where he is now.
Finding this love in his life again meant finding hope again, learning to love again... learning that the future can truly be bright if he took his fate by the reigns and made his own destiny. That his life did not have to end at being a decent father and husband, but being more.
"Maybe the future is bad. But there is a future beyond that, right?" - Yuno
That sure the future could be awful and he may never fully escape Stella's abuse or his position in society, but there was a future beyond the one that was destined for him.
That no matter how bad things got, the future, the hope for something more managed to sustain and keep Stolas alive. For his future and for Octavia.
Question 2: What does Yuno's Mental State tell us About Stolas?
Tumblr media
If you have stuck around till Question 2 I am truly grateful. I know this essay is a tad convoluted, but I truly thank you.
Moving on, Yuno's and Yuki's relationship starts as a sort of transaction due to them being in a Hunger Games style battle to become a god. Yuno is good at killing, and Yuki gives her affection. Pretty cut and dry deal.
"I may only be good for killing people, and maybe I am completely unappealing to you, but I thought you will love me when this was all over."
Even if Yuki didn't love Yuno in the moment, she believed that fulfilling any task and duty, being his weapon, that maybe, just maybe he'd love her when everything was over. That when it was all said and done they'd finally become one.
Very similarly, Stolas believed that despite everything being a transaction and work based that maybe, just maybe if he flirted enough or gave into whatever Blitz wanted that maybe, just maybe Blitz would love Stolas.
Both characters believe whole heartedly their worth is in what they can provide instead of who they are. Sadly both characters abusive dynamics instilled this idea in them.
If Yuno was well behaved her parents didn't starve her and they'd love her.
If Stolas was a good husband, Stella might not treat him like shit.
Everything has been transaction based for so long that they don't know how else a relationship is supposed to start. This all seems to be so normal.
Allowing themselves to be used so they can satisfy others.
Question 3: What lengths is Stolas willing to go?
Tumblr media
In Future Diary, Yuno is willing to go through hell and back for Yuki. Her body, life, and choices all working to serve him. May sound a bit fucked, but that's how she feels she can get him to love her. That if she is just good enough then maybe, he'll love her.
Later on, through a couple plot twists, Yuno finally realizes how selfish she is being and ends her life, giving Yuki her place as god and finally resting as a result of years of agony and misery. Not for herself, but for Yuki and Yuki alone.
Stolas while his life may have been bleak, him and Blitz butt heads, and they somewhat broke up after The Full Moon episode, he would willingly, any day of the week put his life on the line for Blitz.
Tumblr media
Over and over he will stoop to his knees to fix the gap between them. No matter how many times he has to kneel for Blitz he'd do it anyway, for him. Because it is Blitz.
It doesn't matter how much pain, hurt, or agony he goes through.
Tumblr media
Even when Prince Charming didn't come to save him at his lowest point.
He never stops being the one solace and hope he has in life.
Tumblr media
That regardless of the past and hurt, Blitz is his rope ladder.
So how can he not take the blame,
put everything on the line,
for the one person he loves most.
Tumblr media
Paint himself as the villain for the sake of the one he loves.
Take the blame where he doesn't have to,
Take a punishment that is beneath him...
Tumblr media
and kneel.
"I will die for Yukki, and even in death I will chase after Yuki."
It doesn't matter what context, what timeline, what world... all that matters is it was Blitz and he needed to be saved.
So he did everything he could to protect him, even if it meant putting his life on the line.
Countless times during Future Diary, even when Yuki fails to protect Yuno, she always sticks beside him no matter what. No matter the problems, no matter how shitty he treats her, that is her man.
Tumblr media
For Stolas, it is the same. Despite the problems, issues, arguments, and poor communication... that's his man. He will stick beside him through hellfire and brimstone.
If anyone has a problem with it?
Tumblr media
Well they have to go through him. And he'll put everything on the line without a second thought.
Tumblr media
Even when he knows he doesn't deserve it...
Tumblr media
When in every context he knows it does not benefit him nor save himself...
Tumblr media
That's the man he loves, and he'll do whatever it takes to protect him every time.
Tumblr media
"Always."
Conclusion
Tumblr media
While it may seem unconventional of me to bring a yandere into this entire mess, I wanted to share with you all why I love Stolas so much and what makes him so special to me.
It isn't just about how he loves Blitz, but the lengths and depths he is willing to go for him even when it doesn't serve himself.
When I was young and dealing with the world crashing around me, like Yuno I clung to the idea of a happy ending. This idea that Prince/Princess/Prin Charming would save me from my desperate situation and rescue me.
Anytime I had thought I found that love, I'd protect it to the point it was delusional and I stayed in toxic relationships because it felt like this was the one thing I had that was mines and I'd be damned if I lost it.
Stolas of all characters I've seen was willing to fight for his happiness till the end and didn't care how it would change or uproot his life.
He willingly puts everything on the line regardless of everything and I genuinely feel like it isn't talked about enough.
While this all could be my desperate attempt to make people finally sympathize by putting people into my perspective as a Stolas kin- I just- can't help but feel like this is something consistently left out.
The amount of effort this man puts into this relationship is consistently left out the conversation.
As someone who is Stolas, who fought through hellfire and brimstone, the abusive and chaotic worlds we inhabit force us to cling to any type of hope we can have. It gives us strength where there is none left. It gives us faith in something.
Stolas while a victim of abuse- is so incredibly strong in his own merit. He's resilient, a fighter, and most importantly full of never-ending love and forgiveness that in his situation and background should not be likely.
He came out of his situation stronger because of it.
Like, can we take a second to understand that every single moment from the time Stolas left that courtroom until the end of Sinsmas was a SENSORY NIGHTMARE? He is immediately attacked and has disgusting things thrown on him after truly believing he was going to DIE, he’s taken to a place he does not live and is not familiar with, is put in clothes that are not his own and then awakens covered in horse plushies to a bright and chipper Blitz making food he is unfamiliar with. He is then taken out into a world he does not know, surrounded by people who are openly hostile to him, that he does not know the social conventions or etiquette for, and its all activities that require a TREMENDOUS amount of executive function even if you are at your peak: laundry, shopping, trying on clothes, running from shopkeepers and getting into fights at diners all this while UNMEDICATED and worrying about his daughter who he has not seen, who will not communicate with him, and who is currently being looked after by a woman who tried to kill him twice and brother in law who just took everything he has.
Then after all that he is asked to participate in a holiday he does not celebrate, which is already overwhelming on its own, but this time in a in a chaotic workplace while being asked to learn a new job with people he doesn’t know very well, people are actively fighting and blowing each other up, and being very loud the entire time. He’s encouraged to answer a phone while in the middle of a sobbing break down to talk to the worst sinner in Hell who then reminds him of how badly he fucked up and how people view what he did, has a moment of suicidal ideation and is then left ALONE with the homophobe who triggered it.
He rightfully loses his shit and goes after his daughter and is swallowed alive by an ice hydra, gets decimated emotionally by his daughter and is then forced to participate in a Sinsmas party, again with people he doesn’t know, who are all being extremely loud and overwhelming. He goes outside to have some time alone and he’s followed and reassured with a story about an estranged loved one, who to this day, has not forgiven Blitz. It doesn’t exactly inspire hope to be told “My sister won’t see me either because of something I did, we were really close, it super sucks”.
Like we, the audience, can recognize that Blitz is being extremely supportive and open for once and trying to be helpful and he’s approaching it exactly like he does Loona (like to the letter), but lets take a moment to see how this looks from Stolas’s POV. He doesn’t even know Blitz realized he was in love with him at this point, they haven’t talked about it. Their last conversation before all this kicked off that we can reasonably expect him to remember was when he found out Blitz didn’t tell him about Striker’s first assassination attempt? He was drunk at the party and we have no way of knowing how much of that he retained. He even says that Blitz doesn’t have to feel guilty. Because what else is he supposed to think are the motivations behind Blitz’s 180? Guilt and pity and quid pro quo life saving.
So yeah, it’s a lot for him to process and the show was very clear about how much it was and how unhinged he’s feeling right now and like, if you think what he should be doing in those moments is performing gratitude for gratitudes sake I dunno what to tell you buddy.
The Parallels Between Sinsmas & the Full Moon Breakup
Note: Please do NOT turn this post into a discussion on who's in the right and who's in the wrong. I think what happened between Stolas and Octavia is a complicated issue, and I think it's unfair to take sides. (We do not need another Blitz vs Stolas debate, especially between Father and Daughter.)
~~~~~~~~
Both breakups involve Stolas breaking it off with the two people that mean the world to him: Blitz and Octavia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only difference is whereas Stolas had every intention of breaking up, or setting free Blitz in the Full Moon and did.
Stolas had NO intention, and NO inclination of his daughter breaking up, or should I say disowning him in Sinsmas.
~~~~~~~
Let me start off by saying that Octavia, throughout the entirety of her argument with her father, exhibits traits from both Blitz and Stolas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Octavia lashes out in anger the same way Blitz did in the Full Moon. However, unlike Blitz, who had no real way to gain control of the conversation and pull it in his favor. Octavia, from the very beginning controls the conversation, even while she's lashing out.
Octavia’s entire tirade is filled with harsh truths, half-truths, her truths (even if they're false, they are true to her), and harsh call-outs. Similar to Blitzø’s tirade in the Full Moon.
“It was your choice, you chose HIM!"
“Can I get a fucking minute to think after everything you put me through, you pompous, rich ASSHOLE?!”
“You never loved mother, you don't love me, YOU LOVE HIM!”
“TREAT ME LIKE ONE OF YOUR BUTLER IMPS? You can't just dismiss me like that!”
"So does that mean you just stayed miserable because of me? Was I some fucking obligation? Is that why you didn't even hesitate when you got the chance to leave?"
"I mean you royal fucks think you can do this every time. Like you can just play with our feelings because we're smaller and not as important!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the one trait Octavia really takes from her father is the fact that, right now, she is stuck in her own head, not considering her father's own thoughts and feelings, and dismissing them.
Octavia doesn't bother hearing out her father, and fails to take into account his feelings. She doesn't see the pain and anguish she's causing him.
Stolas does the same in the Full Moon (before Blitz's tirade), completely blind to anything else, aside from what he needs to do (give Blitz the crystal), he doesn't notice the fact that he drove Blitzø to tears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~~~~~~~
But that's not all…
Pretty much every single negative event that Blitz experienced in Full Moon, Stolas is then forced to experience, by the hands of his own daughter.
It's almost cruel, as it is ironic.
(I just want to preface this by saying that Stolas was justified in the way he acted in Full Moon when Blitz triggered him, and I can not fault him for that. However, Blitz also had a right to get angry at Stolas for disregarding him. Complicated situation all around. I really don't want to turn this into a who was right and who was wrong debate.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stolas ruminated on the events of the Full Moon, and had a plan in his mind for how it was going to go down. His mistake, he didn’t even bother giving Blitz a heads up on what was happening.
Octavia's life came crashing down all around her the moment she saw her dad was willing to die for a man she assumed was just a homewrecker. By the time she confronts her dad, her mind was already made up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stolas controlled the entire flow of the conversation with Blitz in the Full Moon, and sent Blitz into a tizzy, making him grow ever increasingly distressed.
Octavia controlled the entire flow of the conversation with her father in Sinsmas. Stolas becomes frazzled and desperate, trying to explain himself to his daughter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stolas forcefully gives the crystal to Blitz, without his consent. But was something Blitz ultimately needed.
Octavia forcefully gives the bottle of antidepressants to her dad, without his consent. But was something Stolas ultimately needed.
…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cruel parting words are said to the other as a last Goodbye.
Stolas to Blitz in Full Moon:
“Blitz, I think so very highly of you. I didn't realize you think so low of me… Goodbye Blitz”
Octavia to Stolas in Full Moon:
“You lied to me once, you will again. Have a great fucking life with him, Dad.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stolas shuts down the conversation. He later teleports Blitz out of the palace.
Octavia shuts down the conversation. She forbids her father from chasing after her any further.
~~~~~~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same way Blitz was forced to realize that his words and actions hurt Stolas so deeply to the point that he essentially lost him (Stolas) by the end of Apology Tour, and could genuinely do nothing about it, without fucking things up any further.
Stolas is forced to watch the person he cares deeply for, lose trust in him completely, and being unable to do anything about it. Unlike the other times Stolas could just hug his daughter and apologize. and make everything better; things are different now, his apologies don't mean shit to her.  It's too late. He's hurt her too much, and now she's blinded with her growing resentment of him.
Stolas is forced to feel what it's like to be truly abandoned by someone that mattered the world to you; the same way Blitz has gone through that feeling over (his mom)  and over (Fizz)  and over (Barbie) and over (Cash) and over (Stolas) again. Stolas is forced to feel that pain, to know that feeling Blitzø is so terrified of, the feeling of being truly abandoned.
Would you call Rose a cheater for what she did with Jack on the Titanic while being engaged the whole time? No, right? Good, now you should understand why I don't consider Stolas a cheater just because of what happened with Blitz.
Trying to find love and happiness with a different person while you're literally stuck in a loveless arranged marriage/engagement with an abuser is not the same thing as cheating. I hate cheating as much as the next person, but imagine hating it so much you'd rather side with the abuser.
The only real difference HB has is that the "cheater" is a man and the abuser is a woman. So, just admit you have the twisted believe women can't be abusive (to men) and go. You're doing more harm than good to feminism if you genuinely believe women can't be bad people even when they commit the same crimes you'd hunt down men for (sincerely a woman).
I wanna bet my entire ass that if Stolas and Stella's situation was entirely the same with the literal only change being swapped genders, every single Stella defender and Stolas hater would be a Stolas defender and Stella hater instead.
Y'all people aren't even trying to be subtle.
While we all rightfully shit on Stolas for how he handles class differences (and I’ll continue to do so), I think we should also acknowledge something very sweet.
Stolas is putting a lot at risk to be true to himself. He’s losing the respect of his peers. Whatever relationship he still had with his father will most likely be gone. He’ll be a laughing stock among the higher demons. While he’s not at risk of losing his power, he is at risk of losing any allies he may have had previously. While homophobia seems to be a more interpersonal issue and less of a systematic issue in this world, it’s still entirely possible he could be demoted or pushed out of the Goetia family for embarrassing them with being public about his divorce and being infatuated with an imp.
And he’s doing it, anyway. Not a single second is spent fretting over what he could lose (unless you include Ozzie’s, which I don’t because that was a worry thrust upon him). He decided in a split second that his happiness and Blitz’s happiness is worth chasing.
If that’s not queer, I don’t know what is.
Portal Children AU Pt 2 - Supercorp
At the age of 12, Lena earns an expulsion from her fifth boarding school. By that point, her parents are at the end of their wits with her, and when they learn of the Home for Wayward Children, they're relieved to dump Lena there and leave as swiftly as their car can manage.
Who can blame them, when their darling little girl returns from an afternoon walk in the grove bitter and bereft and uninterested in the world around her? How can they hope to salvage a relationship with a daughter who glares at them with far too much resentment than an eight, then ten, then twelve year old should contain?
They leave her, and Lena doesn't give their trail of dust a backwards glance. She has work to do, and the Home for Wayward Children-- in truth a refuge for children just like her-- may just be the place to get it done.
Any time she's not in class Lena is outdoors and in motion. She runs across the acres of land the school is situated upon, from fence to fence in every direction. She climbs trees, hopping between them across bending branches, on nimble feet. She boxes with shadows, throwing jabs and elbows with sharp, precise blows.
She harvests a thick fallen branch, and carves it down to a smooth staff, swinging it around her body and over her head in a violent single person dance. The headmistress of the school tries to scold Lena when the paring knife reported missing by the school cook ends up on Lena's belt. But no matter how many times it's confiscated, it always ends up back on Lena's person, until one day the headmistress (once a wayward child herself) gifts her a proper dagger with a chide to stop stealing from the cook.
When Lena's not moving, she's strategizing, studying, plotting. She's spent 20 years as a general, leading her fellow freedom fighters in sabotage runs, blitz attacks and full frontal assaults all. She has negotiated with royals and peasants and everyone in between, with the fate of an entire world solidly on her shoulders.
Even five years after her return to her childhood body, that responsibility has yet to release her. Her thoughts tumble with catastrophizing what ifs, wavering between wondering what happened to her friends after Lex banished her and knowing that he's already executed them all.
Her entire existence now focuses on finding a way back to her world, and being ready to resume the fight as soon as she does.
The students at the school are used to oddness amongst their peers. But even among children all individually shaped by their specific circumstances and worlds, Lena is considered odder than most. She shows no interest in making friends, and even if she did the other children find her intensity unsettling.
Except for her roommate, Kara.
Kara fares better than most. Coming back with the knowledge that the journey back would be a long one helps, even if it can't totally dull the pain of missing her chosen home. Her return had been voluntary, and she knows that however long it may take, she *will* make it back, and that her friends will still be there waiting for her when she does.
So she doesn't understand what drives Lena's unhappiness, at first. Lena doesn't share in group therapy, so no one really knows what her world or her role in that world truly was. But where they see a girl removed from the world, Kara sees only a friend she hasn't met yet.
Kara also likes to be active. Or rather, she likes to be strong. Where Lena moves and moves and moves, Kara is perfectly content lifting weights in her little fitness corner. She exercises for strength where Lena exercises for survival. Even so, Kara sees the value in Lena's movment, the lightning quick economy of motion. And Kara adores it.
One day, Kara leaves a gift on Lena's bed, then crawls into the tree outside their window to wait for her roommate to return. When she does, Kara sees Lena freeze in place, her eyes jumping swiftly from the oddly wrapped package on the coverlet to scan her surroundings, searching for any sign of a threat.
Realizing her error, Kara makes a point of rustling the leaves around her before poking her head through the foliage.
"It's okay!" she chirps brightly. "I left it for you."
Lena's gaze narrows on Kara, mouth twisting to something just shy of a frown.
"Will you open it?" Kara continues, then adding, "please?"
Slowly, Lena eases her book bag from her shoulder, and finally sits on the edge of her bed, lifting the awkward bulk of the gift into her lap. When the wrapping paper falls away, Kara hears Lena gasp.
An unstrung bow glimmers in the afternoon light, it's surface smooth with untouched polish. Kara knows from wrapping it that the wood is dense, strong but flexible in a recurve shape, perhaps a little large for Lena's frame. But the way Lena stares at it, Kara has no idea if she'd made a huge mistake or not.
"I saw you trying to find a suitable branch in the woods the other week," she says quickly. "I think I got the size right, based on what you seemed to prefer, but if it's not I can let my parents know. They helped me get this, and--"
Lena stands sharply, gripping the bow shaft in one hand while the other scoops up the loosely coiled string. In a single fluid motion she strings the bow and draws it back to the corner of her jaw.
Kara stops and stares, amazed and dazzled by the efficiency of her roommate's movements, and the laser focus of a hunter, a warrior, on Lena's features. Then, as quickly as she drew it, Lena relaxes the bowstring, spinning to face Kara where she's perched outside the window.
"It's perfect," Lena breathes.
Then she smiles, a bright dazzling beam of delight that no one in this world has ever seen. In that moment, Kara knows she'll spend the rest of her life collecting as many of those smiles as she can.
Helluva Dads, and why Blitzø is better than Stolas
This post is not a Stolas hate post in any way, I think this is just an interesting perspective on the main characters of Helluva boss as parents, mainly Blitzø and Stolas. If you want to avoid spoilers please skip.
The latest episode has brought up some speculations on how the trailer snippet from this seasons (meant for the next episode) will be about Octavia growing resentful of Stolas and thinking that he has abandoned her.
Tumblr media
I have seen some posts claiming that Via is a spoiled rich kid and that she is demanding so much from her father, some posts even going as far as saying she is exactly like Stella. I disagree with these takes heavily because Stella is a one dimensional villain, portrayed to have no other function than to be Stolas' abuser. Octavia is actually extremely valid in her feelings and she has more than enough reason to resent Stolas.
If you noticed, every single Octavia centric episode portrays the same conflict between father and daughter: Octavia feeling like an afterthought and worrying that Stolas will leave her for Blitzø.
Tumblr media
This has been featured in "Loo Loo Land" where Octavia is exasperated by the fact that even when Stolas plans a whole day for the two of them to spend time together (even by disregarding Via's feelings about the theme park), he still spends most of his time flirting with Blitz, whom he invited along just for the sake of it as there has been zero need for them. At the end of the episode, Stolas apologies for not hearing Via out, promises that he won't ever abandon her and the two head home with their conflict resolved.
Or not....
Tumblr media
In "Seeing Stars" Octavia runs away to the human world because Stolas forgot about their promise to watch a meteor shower that they have been looking forward to seeing since she was a toddler. Stolas spends his day arguing with Stella over their divorce and ignoring his daughter. I just want to say it's not Stolas' fault that he is stressed because of his divorce and his ex wife is making the whole process harder for him but ultimately his daughter should take priority over anything else in his life. A parent should put their child first, always.
Enter Blitzø:
Tumblr media
He has his fair share of faults, and he infantalises Loona often but at the end of the day, she know he will be there for her and she will be there for him. She knows Blitz cares for her a lot, and she never doubts that or expresses feeling neglected (i mean also because of her background).
Blitzø also puts his daughter even before Stolas, as seen in Western Energy. He has to take Loona to her doctors appointment and even though Loona is a grown adult at this point, he knows she gets super anxious around shots so he insists on accompanying her, even when Stolas tells him that he has been kidnapped. Blitz sends M&M in his stead, because Loona takes priority.
Tumblr media
The main difference between Loona and Octavia is how much their parents wanted them.
Both Stolas and Blitzø love their daughters and want the best for them. However I can't help but think that the main reason in how they are treated is the fact that one of them was unwanted.
Tumblr media
Stolas loves his daughter, that is undeniable and before Blitz re-entered his life Octavia was probably the only person in his life who made him happy. But he didn't want her. Everything in Stolas' life until the main plot has been decided for him, and he has done everything he did out of obligation: his job, his marriage and his heir. Paimon has decided that he will marry Stella when Stolas was a small child, and they were expected to produce an heir as soon as possible. Stolas most likely became a father against his will at an age where he was barely an adult and unprepared to raise a child. And that is not even mentioning the fact that he is gay.
This is not his fault, again. But it is the main reason why he always tries to escape his life and obsesses over Blitzø, ultimately including Octavia in the multitude of things he is running away from. Via is extremely entangled in the "list of chores" Stolas has to do, while Blitzø represents the freedom of choice for him.
Even so, it feels like Stolas is running the same circles around his daughter throughout the story, which is: Stolas neglects Via, Via feels sad and abandoned, they have a wholesome discussion that Stolas won't ever abandon Via and he loves her a lot, 2 seconds later Stolas is off chasing cock.
At the end of Mastermind, Via is seen visibly upset, probably thinking that his father left her behind for Blitzø again. She feels betrayed by him over and over again, and she is right because Stolas, despite making promises still disregards Via's thoughts and feelings at the end of the day.
Tumblr media
Stolas is absolutely devastated when he realises that he might not see his daughter again, that he has lost custody over her. But it's too little too late, and while in this particular case it was completely justified that he went to save Blitzø from literally being executed, maybe Via would be taking it better if she wasn't left behind by Stolas over and over again.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Blitzø finally manages to connect with Loona on a deeper level by proving to her that he will always prioritise her safety and will die for her if it comes to that. It was the last push for Loona to completely lower her guard and actually allow herself to express outward affection towards her father.
Tumblr media
And I think this progress could only happen because Blitzø has never given Loona a reason to feel left behind. This can also be a reason of introspection on Blitz' part as he adoped Loona after seeing himself in her. They had similar childhoods, full of abuse and neglect, and he was determined to make sure Loona won't have to feel that way with him around.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately Stolas has suffered so badly from his depression and loneliness that even by trying his best he has subjected Octavia to the same loneliness he is desperately trying to escape. I hope that instead of resentment, he can learn from Blitzø on how to be a better parent, and also to take care of himself as well. I hope he and Octavia can reunite at some point, but Stolas will need to work more consciously on being there for his daughter.
I'm writing a post about Oops and why the episode is a complete disaster on every single level and while I was doing that I realized something;
Anyone who gets upset at Stolas's actions in the show is demonized by the narrative
Stella being upset that Stolas cheated on her? Nah, she was just mad that he slept with an imp. Also, she was an abusive bitch to begin with.
Octavia being upset over Stolas spending more time arguing with Stella and for paying more attention to an imp than her? She should cut him slack, after all, he's trying his best! (even though he isn't but ok).
Blitz hating Stolas for SAing him and how their relationship is only about Stolas wanting to sleep with him? He just hates Stolas for being a prince, oh and Stolas DID do some nice things for Blitz... off-screen...that doesn't automatically make his treatment of Blitz ok but pfft let's just ignore that right?
Every time someone in the show gets upset at Stolas's actions, they are portrayed as in the wrong for feeling that way or in Stella's case just turned into a one-dimensional Saturday morning cartoon villain. Cuz god forbid we hold this stupid owl accountable for ANYTHING right? We need to make him an UwU soft boy who did nothing wrong and everyone who gets upset at him is bad!
.....No. I'm sorry but, no. That's NOT how you make a sympathetic character, you don't demonize every other character to make the other one look more sympathetic and don't coddle that character and absolve them of all of their flaws. Stolas is not sympathetic, no matter how much Viv tries to demonize other characters around Stolas while coddling him, I won't EVER sympathize with this stupid owl. There's nothing about him you can sympathize with, he's just a horny, selfish asshole, and anyone who calls him out for it in some way is demonized by the narrative.
Fucking incredible, what a great and well-written character.
Order from worst to best and finna add my own ships to replace it
1. Stoliz
This one should be a no brainer like sorry to all the people who love fucked up relationships but I don’t in fact I find all the moments that they’re being “loving dovey” with each other forced (ex Seeing Stars) also hate how they dunk on Blitzø for his shit but doesn’t give Stolas shit for not only starting this bs with that fuck ass deal but literally looking down on him (seriously when he said he never looked down on him, I face palmed cause what the fuck.
Replace it with Blitz x Fizz I feel like they would act like a normal, charming couple (unlike Fizz x Ozzie who just do too much it’s fine but like I honestly prefer this) plus even tho it was rush the backstory they have is cool.
2. Radioapple
Enemies to lovers is a hella of a drug that junkies will shove into anything and everything
Imma be real I don’t ship them with anyone it’s far more interesting to keep both of them single, have Lucifer actually move on from Lilith and have the divorce be due to his pride (cause he’s the sin of pride). And Alastor really doesn’t need a relationship tbh him being aroace is perfect tbh.
3. Charlie and her ex
I don’t know who that guy is so I’m 50/50 he can either be a Chaz clone or a diet Verosika.
Replace with Chaggie ig it’s fine for the most part only problem is Vaggie has no character outside of Charlie girlfriend and her half ass backstory.
4. Bee x Loona
Imma be real I lowkey ship this, I know Loona was rude to Bee but not to the point that I would hate to see them together, their dynamic is cool they have decent chemistry and both are interesting characters that I would love to see grow.
