Scottish blackface sheep! They’re the UK’s most common sheep breed. Both ewes and rams can grow horns!
[ID: an illustration of a sheep with fluffy white wool and black fur on its face and legs. It has curled horns and is trotting to the left. The background is a pink to yellow gradient with swirly designs. End.]

Surrounded by such remarkable views on such a beautiful day Algy felt so utterly full of songs that he felt he must hop back quickly over the wee ravine to The Singing Place, so that he could let some of them out in the proper manner before he burst.
The Singing Place was a very special rocky outcrop which those of Algy's friends who remember his first children's book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird may perhaps recognise (see cover illustration below ☺️). It was here that Algy first told the tale of his dramatic and dangerous journey to the west coast of Scotland by sea to a crowd of assembled birds and animals, and, as a lonely castaway refugee, was thus able to make new friends in this land which was to become his home.
But on this much later occasion Algy had no visible audience except a distant sheep, who simply stared at him with disdain for a moment or two then continued its search for something nutritious to eat, which was undoubtedly a considerable challenge in this harsh environment and would require all the intelligence which a sheep could manage to muster…
Undeterred, Algy decided to sing his long ballad once again, just as he had done years ago. Who could tell who might be listening, hiding among the heather or the rocks?
As no human has ever heard Algy singing the saga of his voyage across the ocean it's very difficult to say what the tune might be, but the words have been recorded for posterity, and the song starts like this:
Once, upon a stormy day, Not long ago, but far away, A fluffy bird with hair of gold Perched on a branch, But lost his hold. And sad to say (Truth must be told) He fell into the water cold, He fell into the sea. He tumbled down into the sea; That clumsy fluffy bird was me. The wind began to roar and shout, The surf tossed foam and spray about, There wasn’t any time to think, He tried to float, Began to sink. Then suddenly a waterspout Swept by and saved him from the brink Of drowning in the briny drink: It sucked him from the sea. It snatched him boldly from the sea; That drowning fluffy bird was me. The day was dark, the clouds were black, The spout spun on a frantic track, Twirling fast across the sky, The bird on top Was riding high. The thunderclouds began to crack, And lightning bolts went flashing by: The poor bird thought that he would die And perish in the sea. He thought he’d perish in the sea; That wretched fluffy bird was me. The waterspout rushed straight ahead, The bird was shuddering with dread: His future seemed so very short, The fluffy bird Was quite distraught. As madly over sea he fled, The waves were in his every thought; The bird’s predicament was fraught With danger from the sea. His life was threatened by the sea; That frightened fluffy bird was me. Then, all at once, the lightning flashed, The sky burst open, thunder crashed; The waterspout released its grip, And soon the bird Began to slip. Back down into the sea he splashed; Beneath the waves he took a dip As frantically he tried to flip Back up out of the sea. He tried to jump out from the sea; That frantic fluffy bird was me. His leaping was to no avail, The ocean had him by the tail; Foul salty water filled his throat When suddenly He saw a boat With battered mast, and tattered sail Made out of some poor sailor’s coat. And there was something else afloat – A bobbing raft upon the sea. He saw a raft upon the sea; That startled fluffy bird was me. The boat was nothing but a wreck, No soul was left upon its deck: There was no sign of the crew’s fate, A story Sorry to relate. The bird struck out; he had to reach The raft: it seemed to be a crate. He wondered: would it take his weight Upon the tossing sea? A crate was rocking on the sea; That struggling fluffy bird was me. A lucky change in the sea’s swell Conveyed the drowning bird so well That he was thrown against the raft With so much force He almost laughed, And uttered an exultant yell Of joy, to find himself so close abaft A seaworthy and comfy craft: A nest upon the sea. He found a nest upon the sea; That happy fluffy bird was me. The floating crate was strong and sound, Secured with tacks and wire around. He grabbed hold of the rocking side And quickly Hauled himself inside. Overjoyed that he had found A raft upon the ocean wide, He curled up happily and sighed, Then rested on the sea. The bird was safe upon the sea; That rescued fluffy bird was me.
[Algy is singing the first nine verses of his long self-composed song The Ballad of a Fluffy Bird Lost at Sea, which appears in the penultimate chapter of his first childrens's book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird. You can discover more about Algy's children's books on his own new web site, or on any Amazon site. Here's the link to the series on the Amazon US site, for example.]

I mean the sheep that look like the Lamb are either from Britain or Germany
theres actually a lot of sheep breeds with black skin/faces and light wool outside of that, some examples being the grey troender (from norway), valais blacknose (switzerland), argali sheep (WE asia), (romanov sheep (from russia), and the dorper (from south africa) as well as the ones from the uk! many excellent sheep to choose from....
some of my absolute faves are the manx longhorn (they grow 4-6 horns), argali (biggest sheep in the world, big chunky boys) and racka sheep (look at their funky horns)

Last of all, Scottish Blackface and Bluefaced Leicester sheep for @starstablegeek . This includes traditional Bluefaced Leicesters (unmarked faces) and the more modern Leicester crosses (speckled face and often a more yellow fleece). Did you know Scottish Blackfaces often have to have their horns "trained" to encourage them to grow away from their faces? Check out the horns on some of these!

I'm currently heading down to the Royal Highland show (for non-Scots, a huge 4 day country show, live music, agriculture, crafts, food and contests- well worth a visit) so brace yourselves for a photo barrage of any and every draft horse I can find. If anyone has requests for photos of specific animals or breeds of horse, cattle, chicken or sheep, let me know and I'll try to get some.

HI FRIENDS!!!! so i got into cult of the lamb around january and in that time i have worked on a bunch of art and only JUST finished this MONSTER of a project. its taken alot of time because of how slow i am, plus life stuff and other art projects aswell- but MAN IM JUST EXCITED TO FINALLY POST THIS LOL!!! :D!!!!!
so this is my concept art for my lamb characters! i have like 6 different aus already and a few of em has their own version of the lamb and i love them sm- heres some background info on em if ur curious!
Lambert - the Sacred Lamb - genderqueer, they/them - demiro/demisexual - Valais blacknose sheep - weapon of choice: sword based off of my interpretation of the canon lamb and their story! silly, merciful, kind to their flock, but also a tad fucked up. silly lil guy!! silly lil goober! i love them! :D!!! they also have the "vessel and god to enemies to friends to lovers" pipeline with narinder, and lemme tell you when i finally get to drawing art for them its OVER for yall
Sherpa - The Zealot - agender, they/them - demiro/ace - Scottish blackface sheep - weapon of choice: dagger the idea of them was: "what if the lamb had a very unhealthy obsession with religion and their god and was so incredibly fucked up about it" and thats how sherp was born baybeyyyyyyy their story includes alot of dark religious themes and it gets really sad and messed up. their relationship with narinder is reallllll toxic. at first at least. kinda. idk their au has 2 endings and in one it gets better and in the other it gets. alooot worse lol. we love that for them <3
Laramie - The Black Sheep - pengender, they/he/she - pansexual/panromantic/polyamorous - Shetland sheep - weapon of choice: axe so basically. they were inspired by the term black sheep. theyre a lil failure who cant do anything right, has horrible self esteem, and cannot handle being the "prophetic lamb" at all. they die all the time, and many followers ended up losing faith in her early on, its a mess lmao him and narinder dont actually have anything romantic going on, their relationship in this au is moreso a mentor and student type thing. also laramie has a huge polycule by the time narinder is freed. and she also gets downbad for heket when she shows up dfjljhdsfsdfgb
im so excited to do art for the au's i have aaaaaaaaaa, but rn im finishing up some bishop art!!! so look forward to that!!
anyway closeups are under the cut :D!!!

I watched and ranked every Tom Cruise movie so you don’t have to
Simple premise: 45 movies. One actor. Ranked from worst to best, on a sliding scale of -2 to 6 (scoring will make sense as you read).
Technical score is judged on how well the plot is constructed and how well the characters grow and serve their role in the narrative throughout the movie, as well as how well the narrative is written. Enjoyment score is judged on how much I liked the movie: no stars = didn’t like, 1 star = like, 2 star = really like. Bonus star is awarded at my discretion, for reasons such as costuming, soundtrack, particularly stand out acting, etc. Sexism modifier is a negative if women are treated badly, but can add an extra point if the movie gives women their rights. Overall score at the end determines where they sit in the rankings of this post, with movies having the same score in the order I liked them most.
Tumblr media
Vanilla Sky (2001) – David Aames (Starring)
One sentence summary: A man’s reality begins to warp and he is forced to question what is real, and what isn’t.
Technical: -
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥💥
Review: This is a bad movie. Weird acting throughout. Nonsensical plot. Terrible treatment of the women. Definitely the worst movie Tom Cruise has starred in!
_
Tumblr media
Tropic Thunder (2008) – Les Grossman (Supporting)
One sentence summary: Five actors who are filming a war movie are dropped into a real war zone completely unaware, and must use their wits to escape back to their movie set.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥
Review: LOTS of choices made in this movie! Very few of them good! Why was RDJ in blackface? Was I supposed to find this entertaining? Was any of this necessary? Doubtful. Jack Black and Jay Baruchel had great comedic presences, and honestly the acting and casting was spot on for what the movie wanted, which is why I gave it one technical star.
_
Tumblr media
Endless Love (1981) – Billy (Cameo)
One sentence summary: A teenage romance goes wrong when a boyfriend burns down his girlfriend’s house in an attempt to win the approval of her parents.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥
Review: They made movies differently in the 80s, I think. The plot is insane, the main characters unrelatable – or maybe I’m just too long out of high school. In any case, this was Tom Cruise’s debut film, and he did it in booty shorts while advising his friend to pretend to set his girlfriend’s house on fire, leading to him actually setting his girlfriend’s house on fire, and it was the best part of this movie. What a way to start a career.
_
Tumblr media
The Mummy (2017) – Sgt. Nick Morton (Starring)
One sentence summary: After disrupting a tomb, Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) must defeat The Mummy.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥
Review: Yeah… there’s a reason this movie is a meme. Cruise’s acting feels weak, the plot is verging on nonsensical, and the special effects made me laugh. A rare miss in Cruise’s later years of acting!
_
Tumblr media
Mission: Impossible 2 (2002) – Ethan Hunt (Starring)
One sentence summary: Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) must stop a plague by teaming up with a thief who knows the man who intends to kick off the disaster.
Technical: -
Enjoyment: -
Movie: ⭐
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥
Review: One star is discretionarily awarded because it’s set in Sydney and I recognise a lot of the locations they filmed in. Though I have no clue how Luther was getting internet connection on a sheep farm out somewhere in western NSW. Did they have satellite internet in 2002?
_
Tumblr media
Eyes Wide Shut (1999) – Dr. William Harford (Starring)
One sentence summary: After his wife confesses to fantasising about cheating on him, Dr William Harford (Tom Cruise) toys with the idea of actually cheating on her, and has an insane night out in the process.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: 💥
Review: Well SOMETHING happened in this movie. Hot tip, do not go into this one blind on Saturday movie night with your family in attendance. I think, personally, that Dr Hartford could have just sat down with his wife and asked her if she wanted to get into roleplay instead of doing all that. Also, did we really need to see Nicole Kidman pissing? I just really think that wasn’t necessary.
_
Tumblr media
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) – Himself as Austin Powers (Cameo)
One sentence summary: Austin Powers must stop Dr. Evil from world domination by travelling back in time to 1975.
Technical: -
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: 💥
Review: This is some blend of satire and crack, and I’m not really enjoying the flavour. Tom Cruise’s cameo is pretty funny, though.
_
Tumblr media
War of the Worlds (2005) – Ray Ferrier (Starring)
One sentence summary: When aliens land and start destroying Earth, Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise) must do all he can to keep his family alive.
Technical: -
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: 💥
Review: Well… this exists, I guess. Some of these old sci fi novels should not be made into movies. They were not meant for the big screen. Not even Tom Cruise can save this one.
_
Tumblr media
All the Right Moves (1983) – Stefen Djordjevic (Starring)
One sentence summary: After a disagreement with a teacher, Stefen (Tom Cruise) thinks that he might never get to college and never leave his hometown.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: 💥
Review: This sure exists. Very unmemorable, even while I was watching it. Generic in music, plot, character, and romance. Anticlimactic ending too!
_
Tumblr media
The Color of Money (1986) – Vincent Lauria (Starring)
One sentence summary: Vincent Lauria (Tom Cruise) tries to make money by playing pool, but is too good at it for the betting scheme his mentor attempts to set up in order to get rich.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: 💥
Review: I will admit I found this movie fairly uninteresting, though I enjoyed Tom Cruise’s wild haircut. Nothing but respect for Vincent’s “Vince” shirt, however.
_
Tumblr media
Days of Thunder (1990) – Cole Trickle (Starring)
One sentence summary: A street racer is pulled onto the Nascar track, where his attitude gets him into trouble with his team, other drivers, and the woman he’s interested in.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: ⭐
Review: Two sexism bangs for Nicole Kidman’s ‘romance’ scenes (girl why did you come back to do more movies with this man). The car racing is pretty cool though. I am partial to a good car race, I must admit.
_
Tumblr media
Interview with the Vampire (1994) – Lestat de Lioncourt (Supporting)
One sentence summary: A vampire sits down with a reporter to tell the story of his life: one that starts with how he was turned into the vampire, and continues to the present day.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐
Review: Lots of stuff going on in this movie. However, mostly I agree with the well known review that spawned a thousand memes: “Not gay enough.”
_
Tumblr media
The Outsiders (1983) – Steve Randle  (Supporting)
One sentence summary: Two friends are caught up in the complicated politics between the “Socs” and “greasers” gangs; when one friend accidentally kills a rival, they go on the run from the police before returning home to face court, their family, and the opposing gang.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐
Review: Patrick Swayze is kinda carrying this movie honestly. Though Tom Cruise’s denim on denim, wild accent, cake-stuffed-in-face beat ‘em up sure is a performance too. You can tell this is an old movie by how affectionate the boys were allowed to be with each other. Absolutely none of that around nowadays.
_
Tumblr media
Mission: Impossible (1996) – Ethan Hunt (Starring)
One sentence summary: When his team of Impossible Mission Force agents are killed, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) must track down the person responsible.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: ⭐
Review: While there are many (many, many, many) liberties taken with reality in order for this movie to be made, it is iconic for a reason. That being said, the wild subplot of Ethan’s tutor trying to set Ethan up with his wife sure was something! Bonus points for starting such an iconic franchise and, of course, the spy movie scene of dropping from the ceiling and barely not hitting the floor.
_
Tumblr media
Magnolia (1999) – Frank T.J. Mackey (Supporting)
One sentence summary: I don’t know how to summarise this movie. Taking suggestions from the audience.
Technical: ⭐⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: ⭐
Review: I don’t know how to review this movie. Was NOT expecting the frogs, that came out of left field to be sure. I think Kubrick’s vision passed me over. Anyway, two sexism bangs for having Tom Cruise invent the incel motivational speaker 😭
_
Tumblr media
Born on the Fourth of July (1989) – Ron Kovic (Starring)
One sentence summary: Ron Kovic (Tom Cruise) signs up to the Army, fights in the war, and deals with the repercussions when he comes home.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: This movie suffers from the same problem that all movies which are ‘true stories’ have, which is that life rarely neatly fits into a narrative structure, but it manages fairly well anyway. Bonus points given for the BTS trivia that apparently Cruise asked to be injected with some drug that would temporarily paralyse him so he could experience what it was like to improve his acting??? Cruise’s insurance company wisely refused to let him do this.
_
Tumblr media
Minority Report (2002) – John Anderton (Starring)
One sentence summary: In a future where murderers are arrested before they commit their crime, Chief John Anderton (Tom Cruise) is predicted to kill a man he’s never met – and must escape his own police force in order to prove his innocence.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: I had to watch this about 10 times in high school so I was hesitant to come back to it now, but it’s an okay watch when I’m not discussing its contribution to dystopian literature.
_
Tumblr media
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) – Ethan Hunt (Starring)
One sentence summary: On the hunt for the two parts of a key which will allow him to control a new AI threat, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) must sacrifice in order to save the world.
Technical: -
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: ⭐
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: Media very rarely gets plots around AI right, and this one unfortunately misses the mark. It asks no new or interesting questions about how AI is being used or will be used in our modern world, and seems to take a detour from previous Mission Impossible films in terms of tone and consistency of plot. However, Haley Atwell slaps absolute ass, and there are genuinely funny and enjoyable scenes scattered at random throughout the movie, so it definitely could be worse.
_
Tumblr media
Legend (1985) – Jack (Starring)
One sentence summary: After a princess plunges her kingdom into endless winter, she must reverse the curse to save the land.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: -
Bonus: -
Sexism: ⭐
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: A win for diversity! The princess almost ends the world, and also is allowed to save it! Special effects were pretty decent for the mid-80s, even if the plot was a bit basic. Seeing Tom Cruise go all Tarzan and also have a sword was very good, however.
_
Tumblr media
Oblivion (2013) – Jack Harper (Starring)
One sentence summary: Jack Harper’s (Tom Cruise) mission in life is to protect the last of humanity – or so he thinks.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: -
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: Morgan Freeman steals the show here. I enjoyed the plot twist both at the middle and the end of the movie, and the ending scene wrapped everything up emotionally.
_
Tumblr media
American Made (2017) – Barry Seal (Starring)
One sentence summary: Barry Seal (Tom Cruise) works triple time for big money while dodging the law, taking aerial photos for the CIA, smuggling cocaine into the USA for the Medellín Cartel, and delivering guns to the Nicaraguan Contras based in Honduras.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: A movie that’s “based on a true story” and which does it right. The informational sections were balanced neatly with the character development and exploration of what this amount of money might do to a family.
_
Tumblr media
Rock of Ages (2012) – Stacee Jaxx (Supporting)
One sentence summary: Two burgeoning singers meet at a rock bar, which needs to put on a hell of a show in order to avoid closing down.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall:  ⭐⭐
Review: Extra points for the killer soundtrack. Otherwise, this movie is fairly unmemorable. Tom Cruise’s hairstyle sure was a choice though!
_
Tumblr media
Taps (1983) – Capt. David Shawn (Supporting)
One sentence summary: When the students of a military boarding school hear that their school is to be shut down, they stage a protest that rapidly spirals out of hand.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: It’s hard to have sexism in a movie where there are literally no women, so this one is getting a default 💥. Other than the fact that women don’t exist, this was a pretty good movie, with the extra star granted for the depth of character portrayed, Tom Cruise’s buzzcut, and the acting of all the younger kids on set.
_
Tumblr media
Rain Man (1988) – Charlie Babbitt (Starring)
One sentence summary: After his father dies, Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) discovers he has a brother after he inherits everything in his father’s will.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: I really liked how this movie showed that despite how money-hungry Charlie Babbitt originally appears, he goes through an entire journey where he realises how important family is – no matter what form that takes. To see a main male character reflect and regret on his poor relationship with his father and also express the ups and downs of other emotions throughout this movie is refreshing, and Tom Cruise does an excellent job at portraying the journey taken. While it’s obvious he prefers action movies, I actually think Cruise’s true strength is in the dramas he does.
_
Tumblr media
Top Gun (1986) – Lt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Starring)
One sentence summary: Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) attempts to prove that he’s the best Naval Aviator by winning the Top Gun trophy, and also by winning the heart of his teacher too.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥💥
Overall: ⭐⭐
Review: Wow. There’s a LOT going on here. It’s impossible to discuss Top Gun without mentioning the blistering sexism that pervades this movie, but since it’s about the Navy in the 80s, no one should be surprised it’s there. However, it also manages to be one of the gayest movies of the decade. Contains multitudes! Bonus points for Val Kilmer’s amazing performance and the insane homoerotic tension that is as inextricable from this movie as the sexism is.
_
Tumblr media
Valkyrie (2008) – Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Starring)
One sentence summary: Before D-Day, a plot to kill Hilter from within the German government unfolds.
Technical: ⭐⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: 💥
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐
Review: Full of tension and drama, this is a ‘based on a true story’ movie that’s done right (probably because liberties were no doubt taken). A different type of WWII movie, I definitely liked this one. Bonus star for the set and costuming, which were truly excellent.
_
Tumblr media
Lions for Lambs (2007) – Senator Jasper Irving (Supporting)
One sentence summary: Over 90 minutes in real time, 2 marines defend a position in Afghanistan, a Senator is interviewed on a new military strategy, and a college student decides if he’s going to commit to his classes or not.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: -
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐
Review: I’m not American, and it’s not 2007 anymore, but this still hit really hard. Excellent use of the real time narrative to drive the story home deliver the message to the audience.
_
Tumblr media
Cocktail (1988) – Brian Flanagan (Starring)
One sentence summary: While attending university, Brian Flanagan finds work as a bartender to pay the bills before he finds the way he’s going to get rich – and finds friendship and love along the way.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: -
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐
Review: This soundtrack slaps, it’s a cute romcom, and there are cool bartending tricks scattered throughout. It also deals with some more serious topics, but these add to the depth of character and the main relationship to bring extra flavour to the movie.
_
Tumblr media
Losin' It (1983) – Woody (Starring)
One sentence summary: Four friends travel to Mexico in order to party hard and lose their virginity.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐⭐
Bonus: -
Sexism: -
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐
Review: The second half of the movie is far better than the first, with a spiralling series of events that had me laughing at every new development. Tom Cruise playing the straight laced kid was a genius decision, and I can see why he repeated this type of role a few times in future movies.
_
Tumblr media
Far and Away (1992) – Joseph Donelly (Starring)
One sentence summary: Irishman Joseph Donelly (Tom Cruise) joins forces with Shannon Christie (Nicole Kidman) to cross the sea to America, where they aspire to travel to Oklahoma in order to start a new life, where land is being given away for free.
Technical: ⭐
Enjoyment: ⭐
Bonus: ⭐
Sexism: ⭐
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: Very much the best of the movies that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise collaborated on, I did enjoy this one from start to finish. The costumes are great, but the bonus points go to how bloody and beat up Tom Cruise consistently is in this movie. Yes, go and get back into that fighting ring again. It’s good for my health.

The terrain around the peat bogs was treacherous for humans, who could easily become trapped in the deeper areas which could suck a full grown cow down into their depths, or sprain their ankles in the many concealed hollows, or trip over endless hidden stems and stones beneath the long grasses. And the surrounding hillsides were steep and difficult to climb, for the rocky outcrops were interspersed with a tangled mass of rough vegetation impenetrable in places, combined with numerous unexpected marshy swamps to snare the unwary wanderer, even on the higher ground.
But for a fluffy bird the landscape presented few challenges or dangers, and on a fine day when he could see where he was going, and didn't have to battle against the wind and rain, Algy was able to flit from perch to perch without any difficulty at all.
Flying up the slope of the hillside a short distance, Algy alighted on one of the many rocky seats which Nature had thoughtfully provided and studied the tapestry spread out across the land. He knew that there were many kinds of plants growing there, but from a distance they all blended into one colourful blanket. He was reminded of a poem by one of Scotland's most famous authors, although he knew that while most of the plants mentioned were present before him, he would unfortunately have to fly quite a distance inland before he could find any blaeberries. What a pity, for a fluffy bird just loves to feast on those ripe blue berries!
Scotland small? Our multiform, our infinite Scotland small? Only as a patch of hillside may be a cliché corner To a fool who cries ‘Nothing but heather!’ where in September another Sitting there and resting and gazing around Sees not only the heather but blaeberries With bright green leaves and leaves already turned scarlet, Hiding ripe blue berries; and amongst the sage-green leaves Of the bog-myrtle the golden flowers of the tormentil shining; And on the small bare places, where the little Blackface sheep Found grazing, milkworts blue as summer skies; And down in neglected peat-hags, not worked Within living memory, sphagnum moss in pastel shades Of yellow, green, and pink; sundew and butterwort Waiting with wide-open sticky leaves for their tiny winged prey; And nodding harebells vying in their colour With the blue butterflies that poise themselves delicately upon them; And stunted rowans with harsh dry leaves of glorious colour. ‘Nothing but heather!’ ̶ How marvellously descriptive! And incomplete!
[Algy is quoting the poem Scotland small? by the famous 20th century Scottish poet Hugh MacDiamid (pronounced roughly MacDermidt).]

Hiii! It's me again :) Hope you're doing okay! Could I get a mini hc on how the m6 are with MC's blackfaced sheep familiar when you're ready? Please and thank you for the previous one about the ramming btw xD
The Arcana Mini-HCs: When MC has a sheep familiar
~ @notjasondeannn thank you, and it's no trouble at all! here's the last mini prompt for now until my new posting schedule is finalized ^.^ ~
Julian: makes the same joke every night about counting it to fall asleep. "1 sheep ... ah. I'll start again. 1 sheep ... oh dear"
Asra: has tried multiple spells for it to grow different colors of wool so they can knit with it later. the glowing neon was a little much ...
Nadia: gives it way more baths than she should, just because its wool is so thick and soft and it gets so silky when she does
Muriel: likes to sit next to it while it grazes. just the sound of it tearing up and chewing grass is soothing. takes it to the best patches
Portia: has to put up fencing so it doesn't eat her garden, spoils it with whatever table scraps are safe for it to eat
Lucio: mocks it for being spineless until it rams him. starts to like it when it lets him bury his hand in its wool when it's cold

Black face sheep wide format sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing. My sketches start life as hand-drawn graphite images made on cartridge paper. I often work on these with charcoal, oil pastel or Caran d'Ache to create the look I'm after. The artwork is then scanned and finessed digitally ready for fine art printing. This process often referred to as Giclée printing uses the highest standard of printing methods to give gallery quality results that maintain all the details of the original sketch. The graphite pencils I use are Faber-Castel, the oil pastels are Sennelier and the china-graph is Caran d’Ache. The inks are pigment based archive quality (100years+). The heavyweight specialist papers I use are of the best professional quality having a wonderful surface designed specifically for fine art drawings and illustrations. Very limited editions with only 50 printed. All artwork is signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. The wide format size is 8.3" x 23.4" (21 cm x 59.4cm) Frames not included in price. Free shipping on artwork to all destinations. https://www.seanbriggs.co.uk/product/black-face-sheep-wide-format/?feed_id=2527&_unique_id=65aabdbd51462

On 11th August 1892 poet Christopher Murray Grieve was born in Langholm.
C M Grieve, or Hugh MacDiarmid as he is better known, was a journalist and writer of poetry and prose. He is now recognised as the principle force of the Scottish Literary Renaissance, a movement which radically altered the landscape of Scottish writing in the first half of the 20th century.
MacDiarmid worked as a journalist prior to the outbreak of the first world war, and in 1914 he was appointed to serve in the Royal Army Medical Corps in Salonica, Greece and France. He developed cerebral malaria in 1918 and was sent back to Scotland to recover. Two of his poems, Another Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries and At the Cenotaph, angrily refute the notion of war as anything but futile.
After the war, he continued to work as a journalist and spent most of the 1920s living in Montrose, where he became chief reporter at the local paper. He was later appointed Justice of the Peace and a member of the county council.
After a time living in the remote Shetland island of Whalsay he moved to a cottage (with little in the way of comfort) near Biggar. Although never having made much of a living through his work he was much admired and his political beliefs saw him travelling to the old USSR and China.
MacDiarmid was interested in language and came to believe that the Scottish psyche could not be expressed in the English language alone, and had to be developed and written in a synthetic Scots to achieve a coherent national voice. He began to evolve a synthetic Scots gathered from many regional variants, and to reclaim archaic language which, once used by the Makars, had fallen from use.
For a man not keen on sentimentality he had a deep felt love for Scotland and wasn’t shy in showing where he belonged by wearing the kilt often.
There is a memorial to MacDiarmid just north of Langholm. It takes the form of a giant book and was designed by sculptor Jake Harvey as seen in the second pic.

Wild Animal Fortress AU
This is going to a technically 2 AU as one is going to be the mercs as mammals and the other going to be them as birds, so anyway, there is no backstory to this, this is just my opinion on what the TF2 mercs would be as wild animals.
Mammals
Scout - Hare - This one is one of the obvious ones as scout is fast, hares are fast so it makes sense that scout is a hare.
Soldier - Red Deer - This is also kinds of a obvious one due to soldier having a cosmetic which is antlers so soldier is a deer, soldier deer also had 2 types of antlers, one where the antlers are growing out of him and poking out of his helmet then the other one is antlers attached to his helmet when his antlers shed.
Pyro - Rat - I made Pyro a rat as they can be mischievous like what pyro is and rats are also really clever and pyro has been shown in the comic that he's intellagent so pyro is a rat
Demoman - Scottish Blackface Sheep Ram - Demo is a sheep ram because of his charging as well as his rivalry with soldier so the pair have horn bash fights sometimes to see who had better horns.
Heavy - Brown Bear - This one is obvious due to heavy's size, his teddy bear personality and having a cosmetic which is a brown bear.
Engineer - Beaver - Another obvious one as engineer builds things and beavers are known for building dams so engineer is a beaver.
Medic - Coyote - I made medic a coyote as coyotes are known for working with other animals to get food so in this case, medic working with heavy and the others to protect the forest they live in.
Sniper - Lynx - I chose lynx for sniper due to their great eye sight, the ability to climb to high spots, their slimness and their agility which suits sniper well.
Spy - Fox - Last obvious one as foxes are sly and sneaky like spy so spy suits a fix well.
That is the Mammals, now for the birds
Scout - North Cardinal - Scout has this as a pet cosmetic as well as a bird head so it makes sense for him to be one.
Soldier - Bold Eagle - Soldier has 2 eagle pet cosmetics and a bird head with voice lines so again, makes sense to make him a eagle.
Pyro - Wild Duck - It feels like it makes sense for pyro to be a duck due to the obsession he has with rubber duckies.
Demoman - Macaw Parrot - Has a parrot pet cosmetic and a bird head so it makes sense for him to be a parrot.
Heavy - Robin - Heavy has a robin pet cosmetic and a bird head with voice lines so it makes sense even if it's way too small and heavy needs a bigger bird like a ostrich but a robin will do.
Engineer - American Goldflinch - I think this is the closest bird that engineer's pet cosmetic and bird head is based on but i couldn't find what bird engineer's bird cosmetic is based on so he is a goldflinch.
Medic - Dove - Makes sense as he had his doves mainly archimedes and his bird head with voice lines so medic is a dove.
Sniper - Owl - Has a owl pet cosmetic and a bird head with voice lines so it makes sense that sniper is a owl
Spy - Raven - He has a pet cosmetic and a bird head of a raven so it makes sense he is a raven
That's all for now, sorry it's short as i can't really think of a backstory for wild animal TF2 character but if you have one, put it in the comments 😋
