I printed the Takara Pony BJD by @otterloreart since I now have access to a printer! I am enamored by her even if I only have like, maybe two pieces of clothing that fit atm and had some printing troubles due to a print fail I didn't catch ...

I'm not particularly well versed in stringing dolls so in some images her legs twisted around - I ended up restringing her and wiring her legs and the first image is the result of that. I don't really mind the issues I have had with her as most are my fault and she's too cute anyway lol

10/10 would print again if I had better materials for stringing on hand. Definitely recommend checking out Otter's work if you've not seen it before!

if you followed me back in the day, it was probably for cosplay. i haven't done much of that in a few years, but i thought i'd repurpose the old blog. maybe i can thrive on tumblr, since it doesn't make as many loud noises as other social media apps, and doesn't try to show me influencers on a beach if i scroll too far. (if you are an influencer on a beach though, have fun.)

so. dolls! i started a couple of years ago with monster high customs, and then a couple of months ago with 3d modeling my original bjds. the eventual hope is to sell dolls & also do fully custom sculpt commissions. but i'll start by posting pictures.

stay tuned for more dolls & maybe some behind the scenes wip material if i happen to get into this thing.

Had the urge to swap Nori and Amaya’s heads on each other’s bodies because they’re the same resin color and I can hahaha.

Haru’s posted girl versions of Modeun before, and honestly, the sculpt makes for a great girl and it’s a shame he didn’t release the sculpt like XO as a boy and girl. Boy!Maji isn’t something you ever see though, and honestly, she totally works as a babyfaced guy.

Makes me wonder if anyone has made hybrids or genderswaps of their Haru Casting dolls yet. One of my friends has a boy!Wind, but other than that, I haven’t seen much in mix and matching with his sculpts.

This handsome fella here is an Island Doll Shukaku(new) in on the first 46cm strong boy body in normal yellow skin. He is modeled after Bill Kaulitz from 2008. I couldn’t figure out how many or what kind of earrings he had back by then, so I opted out of them. I did replace his eyebrow ring with studs as they are less likely to fall off the faceup that way.

The arm tattoo was a difficult to do, but I won in the end! I penciled it first and then painted over it with acrylic and a brush.

For figures, it's usually the paint job that makes or breaks stuff for me. Because most of the time the sculpting isn't terrible, but then it's like Homer's Make-Up Shotgun of a paintjob.

today i'm welcoming home my first BJD, "lieselotte!" i would like to occasionally post more doll content (especially lolita related) on my blog from now on.. so you may be seeing her often!! ♡

lolita collaborations sparked my interest in ball jointed dolls quite a while ago, but i've only recently started researching them and have come to love all of the similarities these hobbies share. i was very lucky to be able to find my discontinued dream doll completely unopened from a secondhand sale despite this specific model being made and distributed almost 15 years ago. it gives the same feeling as a very well preserved time capsule of sorts.

to give more information on her--she is a 2010 limited release model volks super dollfie x baby, the stars shine bright collaboration from the storyline "harajuku memories"

she is absolutely everything i wanted in a doll and a perfect fit for me as a lolita and avid fan of btssb. i prefer the older faceups of her rather than the more modern ones. i intend on matching coords with her-- so far, i own the same gingham rose OP, her default dress, and the honey cross shoes and socks.. though i want to hunt down the same christina hat she wears. i plan to take her outside with me once the weather gets a bit nicer, as her storyline mentions that being her wish!

i'm quite new to the hobby and still have a lot to learn, so feel free to share any resources or tips ^_^

Maudado’s Debut 💛✨

Bjd custom I made for my friend Sev_thecat for our meetup at Eurofurence! She is also on display at the artshow ^~^.

She was based off of Sev’s furry design of the youtuber Maudado, who has been their special blorbo for a while. While having a conversation about wishing for youtuber figures I got the idea for a kickass present.

Originally I was planning on altering a Mova Planet doll, but Bonbon Galaxy’s Furry body type went on sale soon after I had the idea and it was perfect!

I had to sculpt the hair as I’m rubbish at fiber craft, and her eyes where custom as they needed to be so big.

I was learning as I go while sewing the hoodie but as Sev’s a sewing fan I’m sure she’ll have a new wardrobe soon!
