Spent my night finally converting the pants portion of a Build-a-Bear sweats set into a baggy tshirt for Hiei. The collar is a little janky (nothing fabric glue can’t fix), but overall, pretty happy with how it turned out. Used one of my other baggy shirts for the boys as a pattern haha.

Been wanting to get Hiei some more loud 90s clothes, so this is certainly a good first step. 😆

The wig looks gorgeous on her, even if it might not fit perfectly haha.

If it makes you feel better, one of my boys, Vergil, has a wig that's too big for him too and I ended up cutting out a wedge of the semi-hard cap and it's being held together with duct tape and wishes.

Melody got a new wig, which I lovingly call "styled with leave in conditioner and curl gel". I do like it on her, it's super soft and shiny, but it is too big. It literally stays on with eye putty under the cap.

I got it from Natrume on Etsy and it is made of Angora Mohair and is a hardcap wig. The wig was offered in many sizes between 14cm to 24cm circumference, but Melody has a 19.5-20cm head and that was exactly a size not available. I could either go way too small at 18.5cm, which with a hardcap wig would not have fit, or I could go for the 20.5cm wig that is roomy, which I did get.

Oh well, at least her gorgeous tresses cover the gapping of the wigcap. I will commission eventually a local good friend of mine to make her her "awakened" wig, which needs to be opalescent and with black tips. Goes with her lore!

sort of but also not entirely? the current flag was one of several options i created alongside the original yellow version of the design. i actually liked it the most but put it aside out of concern it might be confused for the neutrois flag (though now i think they look pretty distinct)

i resurrected it in response to that ask in hopes of further discussion in the community but that person never responded, and the post sat at like, 5 notes for several months.

much later discussions started happening regarding accessibility issues (eye-strain bc of the yellow) so i brought it out again and THAT'S when the white stripe flag took off. we'd probably still be using the yellow flag if not for that. i still see it around sometimes

Working on archiving more old doll posts and found this! Luts KDF Yuz and Souldoll Kid Hunoi were some of my old original choices to shell Amaya and Nori.

Honestly, I didn't drift far off from the vibes for their sculpts haha. I clearly had a very specific idea of how their faces looked.

Oh geez…I think I may have FINALLY found the doll forms of Amaya Yu and her brother Nori Yu…jdbskabdj. Can’t wait to see more pictures of that new Romantic body LUTS is releasing…

My Zeri not only has a new wig, but I've also finally named her! Say hello to Marika Lusk. I started playing Love and Deepspace recently and decided to make her (as best as I could in the CC) in the game, and that forced me to finally figure out a name for her. xD Snagged her first name from Elden Ring, though I've never played it (and probably never will).

Anyway, I wanted to give her some wicks/dreadlocs for hair and this is my first attempt! I'm not 100% sure about it, but I got plenty of roving left over, so I can always try again in the future.

I made the wig with wool roving I purchased from Sarafina Fiber Art. It's very soft and the color is beautiful! Definitely recommend them. :) They got lots of colors to pick out from!

To felt the roving, I just used hot water + a Dove bar of soap I had on hand (a lot of the guides online suggest olive soap, but seems most any hand wash soap should be good). Then it's just a matter of rolling the fiber over a towel after spraying. I used a felting needle to blunt the ends so they wouldn't look so grinch finger-y (and gave the ends another spritz and roll to blend).

I made more than pictured, but you really don't need a ton for a head this size (Zeri wears a 5-6in wig).

I then simply hot glued the locs on after applying a quick flocking to the cap to help disguise it. I just cut up a chunk of the roving into little pieces to making the flocking I needed. I had to hot glue btw because the locs needed to be held in place as they dried so they'd lay how I wanted on the head (and regular glue would just soak into the wool like a sponge). Each piece is strategically glued down to the layer beneath it to get the style I wanted so the end result is like a squishy helmet. xD

Rufus's wig turned out hella poofy when I originally began work on styling, so I doused it in water and left it to dry. Here it is with the beginnings of serious styling after cutting and using some pomade to slick it back. Not too shabby so far!

He's definitely a little more plat!blond than I probably should have gone, but oh well! Definitely learned a good bit about putting together a style like this for a doll wig that I'll have to remember for any future projects.

Anyway, I'm planning to get him painted by KomorebiDolls among her next slot openings (along with Pelna), so I'll probably be without his pretty face for a few months. P; Hoping to have his wig officially finished before I eventually ship him out.

Since I had everyone off of their shelves, I decided to think over updating their displays. I'd been contemplating getting some risers for the minis so I could make more use of the vertical space in the bookcase, but then (after hours of looking at different display risers online lmao) I remembered I own a pile of manga I very rarely reread or look through! Plenty of room for the dolls to sit on top of, as well as in front. :)

I tried to primarily use series that my doll characters exist within (either as canon characters or my own creations), but since I don't own a lot of media physically, I had to use a few fillers haha (such as Paradise Kiss, Saiyuki, Dragon Knights, and Kamui).

Also made use of one of the shelves I had to take out of the bookcase to riser some of the big dolls up that are above the roombox (as well as plopped my Devil May Cry books behind Vergil and Qianna). There's this chair I've seen on Taobao that I'm thinking of getting two of for Jonathan and Rhonwen to sit on (since I think she'll likely be kicked out of the bookshelf eventually when my Black Cherry Doll girls arrive). Mixed up the Tokyo Ghoul gang a bit too just because (as well as plopped some of my Halloween decor down with them to fill up the extra shelf space).

Glad I thought to use my manga as risers, because that ended up freeing up several spots in my two cube shelves. Hooray for storage space!

Really happy with how the minis look now. They look less shoved away in a corner and like they're actually on display now. Plus, manga spines are always visually appealing.

Shuu back in this look (though the shirt is now a larger size and the color is slightly different RIP). I keep forgetting just how crazy leggy the Switch boys are haha. Very old yaoi art type of build. xD

After over a year of waiting, my Bimong N401 boy is home!

I also have absolutely nothing ready for him thanks to last minute character changes lmao.

I'm planning to make him into Rafayel from Love and Deepspace (my Black Cherry Dolls Zeri, Marika, is his girly). Got some custom eyes ordered now and I think the fiber I ordered from Zerga Studio for Chrys's wig should be the right shade of purple for him too (I SHOULD have enough fiber leftover for his wig, I hope lmao).

The favorite child returns! Qianna’s head and hands arrived in the mail today from Komorebi Dolls. :D She turned out so fucking good I cannot handle it jfdkajfsklaf. Absolutely in love with how her lips turned out as well as how her hand blushing looks. Absolute babe.

My Zeri and Meihua have made it home! I had lowkey hoped to do a box opening video for them, but I'm still sick and ain't got it in me to deal with all that shit haha.

Anyway...they're both absolutely beautiful. ; w ; So happy to finally have a Zeri of my own since I've been oogling the sculpt for a couple of years now haha. I'd only relatively recently started to really get into the Meihua sculpt, and she's even more wonderful in person.

They're both gonna need some stringing adjustments since they were sent out loose, and I'll probably hot glue suede them as well.

I'm not really sure who they're gonna end up being. Meihua I was thinking of making into one of my MHA characters (Chrysanthi Harada), but it's also tempting to maybe instead reshell Valkyrie. P:

Zeri I have absolutely no plans for haha. She's just a sculpt I've really loved a lot for a while. She'll probably have a similar fate as Leyla, Michelle and Ria, in that she'll mainly just sit around and look pretty until I'm in need of an OC for some future fictional fixation. xD
