Here we have a real blast from the past, a Hujoo Girl in apricot skin! I remember these dolls from when I got into the hobby back in 2011, they were a real staple as a budget friendly BJD company. She's not made of resin, but ABS plastic instead. It's a pity they are no longer around, the dolls were really cute!

The client did warn me that she was a little scratched up around the lips from a past faceup removal, which did become apparent when I was blushing her. But overall I think she turned out lovely.

My Soom Chrom in bronze got repainted as I figured he could do with a fresh faceup as well. Soon I will paint his torso so the color difference isn't as bad...

He is unevenly faded along the face, I was quite shocked upon wiping his previous faceup! Luckily I was able to even his color back out with pastel blushing.

This is one of my personal faceups on a Kana Doll Lucien Nr. 08 head originally in white skin, but matched to Soom'S cream white. I modded his human ears to curled elvish ones as he's a unicorn (his horn is magnetic and stays along the wig.

He's the thief that stole my Soom Heliot's hoofed body, but that's okay, he looks very sweet on it!

I added a ton of gold shimmer to his ears, eyes, and lips. The earrings are only glued on as I don't like piercing my own dolls' ears (despite having modded them already).

I got to paint a lovely matching pair of Fairyland MNF Hwayu elf-vampire heads, one open eyed and the other sleeping.

The client asked me to keep the teeth inside the mouth as hidden as possible, but still make sense with the fangs. So I only painted a small sliver inside as a hint of teeth. We're both happy with that!

I got to paint another Smart Doll Chaos head in cocoa, to match the previous V01. head I painted a while back. I had to cut off the pour spout and cut open the eyes, so that was an interesting task. I didn't do badly though with that!

Now this commission on a pink YBee Doll Nora was quite the challenge! First the faceup needed a bit of adjusting because I hadn't interpreted the request right, but it worked out in the end!

The tattoo itself was the most challenging part though. The client wanted gold sakura flowers along the upper chest going down the left arm as a whole sleeve tattoo.

I didn't sketch the blooms before hand because my hands were shaking so much, so I just freehanded them on the body with a long bristled brush as it naturally corrects the tremor in my hands.

Either way, I am pleased with the end result, as was the client!

Here we got one of those cute Blind Box BJDs, a Penny's Box Centaur Antu Ponder specifically. She belongs to my wife and she didn't like her default look, so she tasked me with redoing her.

This is what I came up with, now my wife loves her!

After a good 12 years, my wife finally asked me to repaint her classic Dollzone April in normal pink. The old faceup had definitely faded over the past decade, and she was the only resin doll in the household that didn't have a faceup by me, yet. So it was exciting to finally get to paint her.

This doll was a first anniversary gift from me, and had come with a default faceup which I'd modified to have freckles.

I finally decided to repaint my Doll Chateau Snow Nymph in normal pink, as she’d gotten horribly faded over the years, and she got new eyes for my birthday this year. I really how her expression turned out this time, eyebrow placement really makes a huge difference!

Let me show you just how faded her old faceup got over 9 years

The before picture was literally taken a day before I wiped her old faceup to redo it. The reds had really faded over the years, now she’s lush and vibrant again!

This handsome fella here is an Island Doll Shukaku(new) in on the first 46cm strong boy body in normal yellow skin. He is modeled after Bill Kaulitz from 2008. I couldn’t figure out how many or what kind of earrings he had back by then, so I opted out of them. I did replace his eyebrow ring with studs as they are less likely to fall off the faceup that way.

The arm tattoo was a difficult to do, but I won in the end! I penciled it first and then painted over it with acrylic and a brush.

This little dude is only 15cm tall, and he got the full spa treatment. He received a faceup, body blushing, and even some modded hair.

He is a Granado 15Ascent Ninth without inset eyes. I also sculpted his hair directly onto the head as it is a solid piece (the head attaches to the body through a peg) with apoxie sculpt.

Do I only work on resin? Nope! I also work on vinyl dolls (and ABS).

This is a Smart Doll Chaos V01. in cocoa skin. I had to cut off the pour spout at the top, so that was an interesting challenge to work with. And then of course paint it naturally and with an illusion of a super short buzz-cut hair.

She's based on a video game character, but I am not sure which game or character, still fun to work on.

Sold an original release Soom Serien/Rico head in normal skin recently to answer a wtb, and the buyer accepted my offer as well as a Faceup!

The old Faceup was character specific for one of my wife’s dolls, but she never used the open eyed head and agreed to let me sell it (she kept the romantic head).
