Something really cool arrived today...

I got a new friend, a blindbox bjd doll. She's just like me fr, her lore is that she hates loud busy places and puts on her headphones to escape to music, music is her safety 🩶🎧

Her name is Mi Ye. She is a wolfgirl (>_<)

oooohohohoho.... MAN these dolls did not disappoint 😭 The sheer amount of STUFF they come with is nuts, every doll has extra shoes, extra hands, extra faces and eye chips, and since I ordered the full set I got even MORE hands plus unpainted hair pieces and even the trans flag snail head (which was funny because.... I had already ordered one from aliexpress 😬) They seem very much geared toward the assumption that you'll be customizing them, which is fun.

The cat is still packed up because she's going to someone else, and in the long run I will probably be using the seal and cheetah as parts for customs or just steal some of their clothes for other outfits, BUT the dog is everything I hoped for and the snail and bunny immediately won me over for being so weird.

we were in a crochet class yesterday and were tought how to crochet a shawl like this. I obviously had to try to make it in milkshake size and on second attempt I got it around the right proportions. It's a bit shorter then it should be but the embroidery thread was only so long.

Milkshake really likes how it looks tied around her neck and on her head. she does look absolutelly adorable I have to agree <3<3<3

I love the Antu "cute beast" bodies but really wasn't thrilled by any of the blind box designs (except the hidden one. lmao) so I had to grab these when they were announced but I was NOT ready for just how gorgeous and detailed they are 😨 Easily an incredibly close runner up to the mianmian dogs for my favorites out of my collection so far

Ok so I feel like the best way to combat the deluge of recasts is to promote more affordable doll brands, so I'm gonna give it a shot!

Here's a list of some more affordable legit bjd brands, their general price ranges, and where to buy them! All of these are complete dolls (body+head). The lowest prices listed are from their smallest sizes no faceup, and the highest prices will be largest with faceup if they offer it. Prices can vary between dealers. (Please add more if you know some, especially for outside the US!)

Also some of these upper prices seem insanely high because they include any 70cm beasts they have as well, but I mainly judged these based on the 1/4 dolls being under or around 300 with faceup, since that's typically the most popular size.
