Here we got a Volks Dollfie Dream 06 head in flesh skin that I even handmade eyes for! I'll be listing her for sale soon with the eyes.

I'm also really proud of the eyes, I made the bases out of epoxy putty, and hand painted the irises with acrylics and coated the whole thing with gloss. I don't have any resin at home, so I improvised.

Since I’m a doll collector, thought I’d share a little photo story I made with some of my 1/3rd scale dolls.

A guide on whose who, black text = me, purple text = Calypso, pink text = Circe, pale green text = Penelope, blue text = Melina (yes they all have Greek mythology names, but aren’t the characters themselves).

Question for all Smart Doll owners!: how do you like them? Do they feel sturdy to you? Does the body (especially the new one that makes noises) feel stiff to pose? Was the buying experience easy and straightforward?

I've been curious about and following Smart Dolls since the prototypes and always liked Mirai, but the behavior of Danny Choo towards customers and some people's complaints about the fragility of the skeleton and lack of easily accessible replacement parts for repairs put me off buying them and led me to get DDs instead. I'm still curious about the dolls, but at this point all the reviews either seem to be from people who either really love Danny Choo and hate Volks or who really love Volks and hate Danny Choo, so I feel like they're too biased to really get any info out of.

In my excitement yesterday with Bonnie's arrival, I totally forgot about my other package that came in. XD They were some hands and a dress for Maddie. XD

I had trouble changing her hands (as with last time XD), so it's just the dress for now. <3

Now it’s Luka’s turn to wear the Hanami Coord, and I decided it’s her outfit now. It says it’s not meant to fit DD L bust, but…it does!

Genuine question: assuming money is no object, if your favorite doll company made a doll of your absolute FAVORITE character, would you want to buy it because of the character alone?

(This doesn't include original characters created by the same company like a monster high draculaura being made by mattel)

For me, I don't think I would if I didn't also find the doll pretty and accurate to their appearance, but then again none of my fav characters have gotten dolls made of them. I know this is a big point of contention for Dollfie Dream fans feeling like the dolls don't resemble their favs at all, like Frieren and Miku.

Alternatively, would you be willing to buy a doll of a character that you don't know, or even dislike, if you thought it looked good?

I'm interested in seeing what other people think, so feel free to tag or relpy!
