Fanfic where Billy becomes the wizard and Mary becomes his champion?

Premise: Teen Billy has become well enough versed in magic that he takes over as full time wizard (he's not bound to the rock and still spends time with his foster family) and he decides to appoint Mary as his champion! Scenarios ensue where Mary gets introduced to the JL as the new Captain Marvel and Billy has to juggle the magical problems of the Rock of Eternity while Mary has to face Billy's old enemies! I'm thinking that Darla would be an adorable Wizard's assistant :3

So Billy is 17, doesn’t matter if he’s homeless or adopted, but the League or his family still don’t know that he Captain Marvel.

One day, he gets caught in a summon.

The summoning turns out to be a marriage contract. Billy is now married to the eldritch ghost king. Who was also not happy.

After sending the cultist to hell, the ghost king transforms into a teenager. Danny Fenton

Huh, he could work with this. Billy transforms as well.

They start working together to find a way to break off the marriage. There isn’t one. They are stuck together. And because both of them have enemies, they can’t exactly tell people that they’re married

Eventually, they learn to like each more than friends. One day, Marvel is in a meeting and someone asks him what he’s doing after work,

Marvel: oh! I’m watching that new horror movie with my husband :))

Leaguers: ….

Marvel: he was so excited to see it I couldn’t say no!

Leaguers: you’re married???

Marvel: … it was supposed to be a secret… shit…

I need more fics where the JL witness Captain Marvel (Shazam) get angry for the first time.

Like that dude would be absolutely terrifying.

Imagine, JL are on the regular mission and suddenly it’s revealed that the villain has two kids tied up and gagged as hostages (Freddy and Mary)

And the JL don’t even get to react before lightning starts to crackle off of the Captain and his eyes are practically glowing. And this dude just starts absolutely TEARING through every defence almost as fast as the flash and with more strength than superman. And if it weren’t for his morals you know he’d kill the villain on the spot just for laying a finger on his family.

So JL are just standing still in shock as Captain Marvel’s rage turns off immediately as soon as he’s with those random kids, bonus points if he’s on the verge of tears of relief that they are okay.

So idea where Batman finds out Captain Marvel's identity and respects that he wants to keep it secret and still be independent but also is a little worried and saddened by him not having any people his age he can talk to about hero stuff so he sets up him and Damian as pen pals.

Neither one knows the other's civilian or hero identity (although Billy very strongly suspects it's Robin because c'mon) but they were each vetted by Batman so might as well?

A magical artifact has entered the borders of Gotham and due to some circumstances, tha Bat calls Captain Marvel to help him intercept the cargo being received.

However, things don't go as planned, and in a moment of distraction they get separated, and the captain ends up being hit by a spell from the cursed artifact. He manages to hold out a little before the worst happens, retrieving the object and entering a portal to the rock of eternity.

The spell ends up separating Captain Marvel from his champion, Billy Batson.

But instead of having a little billy and a big marvel, we have a little billy and an even smaller marvel

Although the powers passed down by Marvel are older than Earth, he is "reborn" every time he has a new champion to accompany him. So that he can always be connected with this new champion and so that he doesn't feel alone in the hard journey of being the champion of magic.

This means that theoretically, our Marvel was reborn less than five years ago-- (Although he still has the memory of the old champions, he is growing up again with Billy, and so he is just a very mature child for his age, but still a child)

During the separation, Billy ended up getting hurt and Marvel panics because he doesn't know how to help. Without billy to balance your magic, it's very risky to do any spells, even something as simple as healing.

He is a water tank full of magic, and the champion serves as the tap to decide how much magic is released.

As they are on the rock, time doesn't pass normally so Billy doesn't pay much attention to that injury, saying that it would take months inside the rock for them to need to worry.

They stay there for some time, researching the artifact and its curse. The wizard gave some answers, but it is still too vague to satisfy Billy and Marvel's curiosity

Eventually they need to get off the rock, as Billy is worried about Fawcett without his hero. But outside of the temporal suspension that the rock provides, Billy's injury begins to worsen rapidly and they have to change plans to get help.

That doesn't go the way they wanted either, and they end up having to resort to something Billy really wanted to avoid: The Justice League.

Marvel refuses to speak to the league, being inconsolable because Billy is in pain. He demands that they take care of him and they do, shocked by the little crying marvel.

The league comes to the conclusion that since Billy was the first person Marvel probably saw after being transformed into a child, and he is the one who has been taking care of him in the last days, he must have had some kind of imprint on him and is seeing him as a safe haven.

At the watchtower, the league now has to deal with the situation of a completely shy little Marvel who just wants to interact with Billy, a homeless boy they've never heard of before. who is this boy???

While the magicians are racking their brains trying to understand the situation and how to reverse it, the heroes are trying to understand their fellow coworker child, very worried about the emotional dependence he is developing on Billy.

While recovering, Billy starts planning their escape from the Watchtower, but it sucks when the league babysits them both and forces them to go to therapy

That time Catwoman became a Captain Marvel rogue.

Catwoman canonically steals out of Gotham, and has done multiple sabbaticals (heist world tour) on multiple occasions. So picture this:

Billy meeting Selina during a heist

Billy: is there to get a magical artifact that’s wayyy too dangerous to be left in a museum because obviously an evil magician is going to steal it for world domination. He goes as Billy because Cap can’t be seen doing crime.

Catwoman: a cat themed necklace of super importance or whatever. It doesn’t matter, it’s old, pretty and cat related so she has to take it.

They are not in Gotham.

Billy has no idea who Catwoman is, just that she has a magical aura around her (it’s because she steals a lot of magical items on accident).

Billy thinks Selina is an evil wizard hoarding cat themed powerful artictifactd and is apparently a known criminal(?). He should talk to Batman, he knows stuff about people, surely that won’t backfire (… right?)

Selina thinks Billy is an up and coming burglar (and she’s kinda right in that regard).

Selina wonders if she should get this kid as an apprentice (maybe son depending wether or not he’s an orphan)

Bonus:

Batman is conflicted. On one hand, he’s loosing his favourite rogue. On the other hand, his maybe love interest is getting along with his maybe kid.

Batman plots on how to lure them both to Gotham.

His kids behind him are concerned. Alfred is just done.

Bonus 2:

Tawky Tawny joins in on one of Billy’s heists in his tiger form (mostly because they are in a dangerous place and wants to protect him in his small form).

Selina sees this.

Selina is so going to adopt that kid, even if it’s the last thing she does. Maybe she should ask Batman for tips. That won’t backfire (… right?)

Bruce, tired father of too many children, wished for a small break.

Just a tiny one.

He pinched his nose, cowl covering his head and expression and glared.

"I can't believe you snitched on me!" Billy batson, freshly revealed teen and sitting on his usual spot during meetings, hisses.

"If I have to get parented, so do you!" Danny fenton, also freshly revealed teenager, glared right back.

"Boys." Both their attention snapped to wonder woman, still tense and warry.

"Do you two have adult supervision, at least." Batman asks, feeling slightly more drained than before, he can feel Nightwing's stare at the back of his head, coming closer.

"Do the voices count?" Danny asks, to which Billy nodded. "Yeah, do they? Zeus has strong opinions, and many kids. He probably can parent, somewhat."

They shrugged both, like they hadn't just opened another whole can of questions.

"Wait!" Danny snapped his fingers, "what about clocky? He sends us on time missions, has his own lair, and lets us hang around. That counts? Right?"

The other teen nods in agreement.

(Knowing both are black haired and blue-eyed teens, he already knows Dick will never let him live this down. Deceived by children, for YEARS.)

(So much for being the greatest detective.)

In the end, the two agreed reluctantly to stay around for a while. The Kents, the Allens, Diana, and the Waynes have opened up their homes to house them permanently.

Much their amusement, they declared, that to make no one jealous, they'd switch homes every other week or so.

That alone smelled like chaos.

Whatever, it was Diana's first week.

(And if the house of mysteries appeared in front of them sometimes, that's also between them and a very suffering John constantine.)

So the GIW situation has gotten out of hand (when has it not lol) and the gangs decides to split.

Danny Sam and Tucker (24) all go to Central city, Jazz (26) and Valerie (24) end up in Gotham.

And Dani (22) ends up in Fawcett. The magic in the air (literally) helps keep her stable and the Ghost of Fawcett Present absolutely adores her.

Billy Barton just turned 10 and for his birthday present he caught by social services and sent to a foster home.

Usually he would just run away, but his foster mom, Dani, seems… off.

So he stays, thinking he could just sneak away to become Captain Marvel.

Dani seems to have eyes on the back of head, calling his name whenever he thinks he can sneak away to transform.

Eventually, she figures it out and offers to train him. Billy is many things, but trained is not one of them.

Captain Marvel efficiency is glaringly obvious to anyone, who leads to a lots of speculation about who is training him.

Whenever the League asks, he just said his mom taught him.

One day, when Billy is 13 or so, the Justice needs help from the High Royalty of the Ghost Zone.

So why summon Dani, as princess.

Dani looks a bit older as Princess, but still powerful.

But as soon as she appears into the rook Captain Marvel immediately grins and says ‘hi mom!!’

Pandemonium. Complete and utterly pandemonium.

Bonus point if Captain Marvel and Billy slowly become more and. More liminal because they are around Dani a lot. So Billy with Fangs and green eyes. Batman almost went insane trying to find out how

Bonus bonus other path this could take is Billy’s identity gets found out and the JL tells him to call his mom so they could speak with her

I’ve been thinking about the “turned into children” trope that we batfam enjoyers love, and one that I really like is the justice league turning into children. Bruce from before his parents died (see: a little piece of shit), Diana from before she learned about the outside world (see: really confused bc men??), Oliver at 15 (see: also little shit but for entirely different reasons) and so on and so forth… BUT then we have captain marvel who’s already technically a child, so I present you the idea:

Billy doesn’t turn into a child, and stays in his adult form. He has to take care of the league, because the world can’t know that they’re children (duh), but he’s having a really hard time seeing as he’s also a child. No one questions why he’s not a child, because you know, they’re not league yet. But once they’ve transformed back (they keep their memories), they start running tests (both magical and scientific) on him to find out why he it didn’t effect him, but find NOTHING. In the end they deem that maybe captain marvel is just immune to reverse aging spells.

And this is where I present to you yet ANOTHER idea:

One day one of them (whoever you like) sees billy transform and assumes he was hit with a reverse aging spell. Cue Billy having to dodge actually explaining how he’s a real child and why the reverse aging spell didn’t work on him

Billy Batson Fic Idea:

Billy has been in the Justice League for just over a year, as an eleven-year-old parading in an adult’s body.

Unfortunately, in an especially difficult battle he’s forced to reveal his identity to his teammates, and they don’t take it well.

With a little digging from Batman, his foster history and eventually drop from the systems are exposed. Now the entire JLA view him as a pathetic child in need of saving by them.

Superman orders Martian Manhunter to remove all of Billy memories of Captain Marvel so that they can protect him from the “dangers of hero work.” Subsequently, Billy is fostered by Bruce and placed in the Wayne household.

The batfam keep their ‘bat’ secrets from him, and after six months acclimating to the manor, Billy starts keeping his secrets from them.

Clearly, he’s some sort of meta.

Lightening has been arching off his body in, powerful, sporadic bursts whenever his emotions are particularly heightened. As a citizen of Gotham, he’s well aware of the “no meta” rule and fears what Batman (a cool, cryptid vigilante that he’s never seen before no matter how much it feels like he knows him on a personal level) will do to him.

So he tells no one, especially not his foster siblings.

Furthermore, his mind has been messing with him, inserting fragments of memories that he can’t quite place.

He gets especially dizzy around news stations. He swears he can envision Captain Marvel in detail, despite his certainty that he’d never met the hero. The feeling is so powerful though, to the point that he compulsively starts collecting news articles about “the hero that went missing.” He begins unconsciously seeking connects to his former life.

When Billy works out that Bruce Wayne is Batman, and the Batfam work out Billy has magic, it’s already too late.

Cap’s god-like powers have already returned all of his memories.

Billy is overcome with unadulterated fury at the revelation.

Marvel’s powers have been suppressed within Billy for far too long and they excitably respond to these emotions.

Billy confronts Batman, screaming about how they invaded his mind and stripped him of his autonomy. All the while, thunder and lightening rains down upon Gotham, menacingly striking the manor.

He yells at Batman for coercing him into their family in order to fulfil some sort of guilt complex. They basically kidnapped him and kept him as a pet.

They stripped him of his home, his life goals, his morals, and worse of all, his identity.

Every few words, Billy pauses to yell Shazam. The lightening tears apart the manor, setting the south wing aflame.

Nobody can get close to him without being struck by a particularly vengeful beam of light.

“Shazam. You ripped me from my home. Shazam. You kept me like a pet. Shazam. You stripped me of everything I believed in. Shazam.” He booms, voice thunderous and hateful.

The Mightest mortal looks intimidating as he switches forms. His hair whips in the wind and his eyes glow white with electrical rage.

As he turns of fly back to Gotham, Billy swears that he will never stop heroing for Fawcett, and if the JLA tries to interrupt him, he will have no choice but to treat them as enemies.

Bruce is left to rot in his regret and dread as he watches his foster son that he’d come to love fly away. He puts on his cowl and heads up to the Watchtower with a new resolve; to convince the superheroes that Captain Marvel needs to come back to the league.

In the end, more stuff goes down. Dick and Steph and some other family members go to Fawcett to convince Billy to come home. He ignores them. Bruce is wallowing in the Batcave while presenting weekly PowerPoints to the JLA about Captain Marvel’s essentialness.

Eventually they are all united by a big bad. Bruce saves Billy’s life then Captain Marvel saves the day. He accepts his invitation back into the league and starts living with the Wayne’s again. Everyone is happy. Yay.

I need a fic where all the magic users know that the Champion of Magic is a child so they just start unintentionally co-parenting Billy.

Like, John Constantine will take him on outings to hell. Billy will run off and come back with a piece of Constantine’s soul that had been gambled away and Billy will refuse to explain how he got it.

Dr. Fate (against his better judgment) sets up a playdate between Billy and Klarion the Witch Boy where they are just running around causing chaos (nothing harmful thanks to Billy)

Zatanna lets Billy come to her shows where he’s putting every other audience member to shame with how loud he claps and cheers whenever Zatanna does a trick.

Give me a scenario where magic users are regularly teleporting into the watchtower just to give Captain Marvel a packed lunch, and telling him off —in front of the JL— for forgetting it.
