Genuine question: do people do “moots” here on tumblr?

I haven’t been on the app for too long (see: not American + originally in fandoms that aren’t very active on here), so I don’t particularly know the etiquette and stuff.

Anyway, should I go through my follower list and follow people back or is that only a twt (+ tt ig) thing?

Hamilton (irl people) facts bc I saw the show live yesterday and I need to put my hyper fixation into the world

1. Aaron Burr committed treason(or, well, he was on trial for treason, but was never convicted) from 1805-1807, he (allegedly) wanted to make an independent country inside of America before he was arrested, exiled, and forced to flee to Europe

2. John Adams and Hercules mulligan’s sons(Charles Adams and John W. Mulligan respectively) were gay for each other(allegedly). They lived together up until late 1792, when John Adams told them to part ways because their relationship was “too intense”. They did not listen and moved in with F. W. Von Stauben instead

2.5 Fredrick Wilhelm Von Stauben was a german(Prussian) general who participated in the American revolution, and according to historians, he was a raging homosexual. He had a “close” relationship to his secretary, Peter Stephen Du Ponceau, and apparently, he also had something with Prince Henry of Prussia, and Fredrick the great. He never married, and instead opted to adopting two soldiers, Walker and William North. Later in his life, John W. Mulligan became his secretary and they lived together until Stauben died. Mulligan inherited his library and his map collections

3. Lafayette named his son George Washington. Straight up stole the presidents name.

4. Speaking of bad naming, soon after Philip Hamilton’s death, Philip Hamilton Jr. was welcomed into the world… not the choice I would’ve gone with

4 John Laurens married a British woman, Martha Manning, after he impregnated her, but left her to participate in the war. She died the year before him, leaving their daughter orphaned at five, having never met her father.

5. Many of you probably already know this, but both Hamilton and Laurens are speculated to have been queer. Laurens because of his relationship to Hamilton, and his apparent lack of interest in women, and surprising interest in men(according to his father). And Hamilton because of his relationships to Laurens specifically.

5.5 Apparently Lafayette knew about Hamilton and Laurens’ “thing”, and some historians even speculate that he was apart of the relationship. The French were generally more okay with Sodomy and homosexuality back then, especially within aristocratic societies(which Lafayette was apart of), so it’s not entirely implausible, but Lafayette was also known to have loved his wife immensely.

6. According to letters sent by Hamilton to Laurens, Hamilton wasn’t really in love with Eliza when they married, he refers to his (upcoming) wedding day as his “doom”. He says in the letter that, although “miss Schuyler” isn’t a beauty, she is quite handsome, and that she has the qualities to make a lover happy. He then encourages Lauren’s to visit them

7. Hamilton told Lauren’s to try and find him a wife in Carolina, and even sneaked in a dick joke in the letter. “In drawing my picture, you will no doubt be civil to your friend; mind you do justice to the length of my nose and don't forget, that I-“ and the rest of the letter has been cut out, probably because of explicit wording, and maybe some too gay innuendos

I need your help tumblr

I have been searching high and low for two specific fics and I just CANNOT find them, please, someone, help !!

1st fic: Tim accidentally becomes red hood’s secretary because one of the his goons(or maybe one of his rivals) calls Tim and asks when Red Hood has time for him or smth and Tim just rolls with it

2nd fic: batfam are for some reason cursed so the number of kills they have is written on their hand/wrist and Tim has an insane number and lies about it, but Jay sniffs him out and confronts him about it

While I can definitely see what you mean OP, Bruce is still not a very good father. Obviously he’s not intentionally being abusive (emotionally and physically), but he is a very flawed person who’s not perfect.

He’s emotionally repressed and cannot for the life of him teach his children healthy coping mechanisms, because he doesn’t have any himself.

He has hit/hurt his children physically and emotionally, and while he definitely has his moments of being a great dad, it doesn’t show that often.

His relationships with his children are very unhealthy (especially with Dick, but that’s not only Bruce’s fault), and I’m not taking away from the fact that he has some very traumatised children who are hard to bond with, but if you cannot take proper care of a child (not only physically but also emotionally), you are not fit to be a parent

There are worse parents out there, but IMO all the bat kids deserved a better dad than the one they got (heavy on Dick, Tim, and post-death Jason(also Steph but Bruce was never really her dad))

You guys ever see a post, fanfic, fan art, or video about Bruce Wayne being a bad father/parent. And then the rest of your day is just ruined. No just me ok well I’m bored so I’m gonna rant.

Why does everyone take certain comic book panels out of context to specifically make Bruce look bad. And then They show a panel of like Nightwing or Catwoman and is like “LoOk HoW BeTtEr Of a PaReNt ThEy ArE” And I’m like oki I can take out of context things and make Nightwing have a flat ass, oh sorry I meant make him a bad person. Leave bruce alone.

Also I accidentally read a bad parent Bruce Wayne tag on Ao3 once and I was like that was the most out of character thing I have ever seen Bruce do. Like one made Bruce make fun of Damian’s cape. And I’m like I truly think Bruce could care less about Damian’s fashion choices. Also dick ain’t Damian’s parent they were partners for like less than a year in most comics.

And they push this. Like why can’t dick be the older brother who is cheerful with trauma. But noooo they have to make him this person who’s untouchable and perfect. And now I can’t read any comics or fanfics because the Nightwing colt (yes we all know that a lot of the fans are a colt and not a fan base because it’s so big and all the fans are scary, they scare me truly) and no hate towards Nightwing I like him as a character it feels though that a lot of people are shoving down my throat on how he’s so great with no mistakes and is such a great parent.

Not to mention how much hate this guy gets when someone dies! Like he did try to kill the joker mf where are you getting your info from! Bruce told Jason don’t do that it’s a bad idea stay here you might get hurt and die. And then Jason does it and he dies! Same with Damian. They specifically disobeyed Bruce and died. And he mourned both so deeply and I hate how that gets over looked.

They also leave out Bruce’s other kids so much (Cass Steph and duke) I miss the characters.

go read this account. They give such good points on the character and how he’s meant to be portrayed and how he’s incorrectly characterised at times. I truly love the character and he helped me get out of a really bad place. And the fact that you butcher his character to make yours seem better is really annoying.
