I like to think Dick would react like a crazy big brother when he found out about Jason and Roy getting together.
Like he'd feel so betrayed, how could his best friend and his baby bro start dating and not even tell him for months? And oh god now he'd have to see them kiss? He could never get that image out of his head. He'd have to get used to seeing Roy at the family dinners and sure Jason looked happy but couldn't it be with literally anyone else? Didn't Roy know better than to go after his little baby brother? I mean seriously he's just a baby he is not ready to be a dad. How could he take care of Lian if he can't even take care of himself and-
And that's when it hits him, that technically Jason's her dad now, given the seriousness of the relationship and the fact that he did overhear the girl calling Jason Jaydad, so Dick is oficially her favourite uncle.
He is suddently very ok with their relationship.

(i re-read the ‘this is how you greet daddy’ blurb again.)
buggy watching Quinn talk to cub while he’s still baking in moms belly and being so intrigued she has all these questions and when she gives it a try, cub kicks and bug is just amazed at that. so now it’s a daily occurrence that bug and quinn talk to the baby when quinn gets home.
(bug would probably turn it into a competition, like “daddy, i bet i can make baby move before you!” UGH!)
It starts with curiosity.
Bug is always watching — soaking in every little thing, her sharp little mind piecing together things before she even knows how to ask about them. And lately? She’s been watching Quinn.
The way he talks to your belly, the way his voice softens when he does it, his big hand spreading warm and steady over where her baby brother is growing. Sometimes he’s casual about it, murmuring something without even thinking, a sleepy "hey, little man," when he crawls into bed at night, or an absentminded "be nice to your mama today, okay?" when he feels a particularly strong kick. Other times, he’s intentional. Like when you’re both curled up on the couch, and he leans in close, resting his cheek lightly against your bump, whispering things Bug can’t quite hear.
At first, she just observes, her head tilted in that thoughtful way of hers, brow furrowed like she’s considering something.
Then the questions start.
What are you doing?
Does he know what you're saying?
How does he hear you?
Does he talk back?
Can I try?
And of course, she tries.
She scoots right up to you, small hands settling clumsily on your belly, her whole body warm as she presses in close, her voice dropping into a whisper.
"Hi, baby brother. It’s me. Bug. Your big sister."
And then, as if on cue, there’s a kick.
"Did he…?" she trails off, barely above a whisper, waiting for confirmation.
And when you nod, smiling, her whole face lights up. She gasps, spinning around to Quinn, completely astounded.
"Daddy! Did you see that? He knows me!"
Quinn laughs, hand smoothing over her hair as he nods. “I saw.”
"He heard me!" she exclaims, voice bubbling with excitement, but then her expression shifts, turns suddenly serious as she whips back around, pressing both hands firmly against your belly like she’s trying to catch him in the act.
"Do it again, baby," she demands, voice dropping into something softer, more coaxing. "One more time. Please?"
You bite back a laugh, glancing at Quinn, who’s watching her with that soft, affectionate look he always gets when Bug is like this — when she is so earnest, so full of belief in the world around her.
"He’s not a puppy, Bug," Quinn teases, nudging her gently. "He’s not gonna listen to commands."
"But he heard me before!" she insists, her little brows furrowing in concentration.
She shifts, trying different angles — pressing her cheek against your belly like she has seen Quinn do a hundred times before, tapping her fingers lightly, even giggling, like maybe if she’s happy, the baby will be happy too.
And then — another little shift beneath her palm. A tiny kick, softer this time, but there.
Bug gasps, giddy now, turning to look at you with so much joy it makes your chest ache.
"He likes me!" she declares, voice full of pride.
"Of course he does, baby," you murmur, brushing a hand over her hair. "You’re his big sister."
"Best big sister ever," Quinn adds, leaning in to press a kiss to the top of her head.
Bug beams, glowing, her hand still resting over your belly, like she’s never letting go.
"I can’t wait till he comes out," she sighs dreamily.
And from then on, it’s constant.
Before bedtime, when she’s curled up between you and Quinn, fingers lazily drumming against your bump as she sleepily tells her baby brother about her day.
In the morning, when she groggily leans against your side, rubbing the sleep from her eyes she mumbles, "g’morning, baby brother."
And when Quinn talks to him, she always joins in like the two of them are having their own little conversation, like it’s completely normal for all three of them to sit there, Quinn and Bug chatting away, like the baby can actually respond.
"You know, little man, your sister is gonna boss you around all the time," Quinn teases one evening, pressing a lazy kiss to your bump.
"Am not," Bug huffs, adjusting her position so she can rest her cheek against your belly as she sprawls out over the sofa. "I’m just gonna help him. I gotta teach him."
"Yeah?" Quinn grins, settling in beside you. "Teach him what?"
"How to draw," she says confidently. "And how to share. And how to eat ice cream fast before it melts."
"All the essentials," Quinn murmurs, eyes soft as he watches her.
"And I’ll tell him about all the stuff he’s missing out here, so he’s ready when he comes out," she adds, giving the bump a little pat. "Don’t worry, baby. I got you."
And Quinn?
Quinn just looks at you, his expression warm, his fingers tightening ever so slightly over your stomach — like he can feel it, the shape of his family growing beneath his touch.
It doesn’t even stop when Quinn leaves for a road trip. If anything, Bug takes her job even more seriously in his absence.
Every night, after she’s had her bath, after she’s been wrapped up in her softest pyjamas, she climbs up onto the couch beside you, pressing in close like she always does. And without fail, her little hands find their way to your belly, fingers splayed wide like she’s trying to hold onto him the way she would if he were already here.
"Hi, baby brother," she murmurs, soft and warm. "Daddy’s not here tonight. He had to go away for work but it’s okay ‘cause I’ll tell you everything so you don’t miss anything."
And she does.
She fills him in on everything.
"Today at preschool, we learned about the ocean. Did you know sharks have so many teeth? Like, more than me, even. But don’t worry, there’s no sharks in the bath, I asked."
And then, when she’s all caught up on her day, she moves on to Quinn’s.
"Daddy had a game tonight. He didn’t win, though." She sighs, dragging her palm slowly over your bump. "I think he’s sad about it, but that’s okay. He’ll win next time. Maybe if you were here, he’d win more ‘cause he’d have two of us cheering for him."
You smile, smoothing a hand over her hair, listening as she keeps talking and talking, the baby shifting beneath her palm like he’s listening, too.
"I miss him, but you’re here. And mommy, too." She pauses, her fingers tracing absentminded little patterns over your belly. And then, after a beat, so soft and so certain, "she misses daddy a lot but she gets to hug me and you, so it’s okay."
There’s a little kick beneath her hand, just a tiny one, but it’s enough.
Bug gasps, delighted.
"See?" She grins up at you. "He knows what I’m saying."
And that’s just how it goes.
Every night until Quinn comes home, Bug curls up beside you, hand resting against your belly, filling him in on everything because if daddy can’t be here to talk to him, she will.
But when Quinn finally comes home, it happens the same way every time.
The front door creaks open late at night, and before he even has a chance to set his bag down, Bug comes bounding down the hall, feet pattering against the floor, launching herself straight into his arms.
Quinn catches her with ease, lifting her effortlessly, his arms wrapping around her because he’s needed this just as much as she has. She clings to him, small fingers gripping his hoodie, her face tucked into his neck, and he breathes her in, swaying her gently like he never wants to let go.
And then his gaze lifts, searching for you.
You’re there, waiting, just a few steps away, a quiet smile playing on your lips, warmth written all over your face.He doesn’t hesitate — one arm still wrapped securely around Bug, the other reaching immediately for you, tugging you into him, pressing his lips to your temple.
"Missed you," he murmurs, voice quiet, just for you.
"Missed you too," you whisper back, your hand finding its familiar place on his chest next to Bug's, fingers curling lightly into the fabric of his hoodie.
But then, just like always, Bug leans back, pressing her hands against his cheeks, turning his face toward her, blinking up at him seriously.
"Say hi to baby brother."
Quinn huffs out a laugh, shifting Bug higher in his arm before reaching down, palm pressing warm and firm over your belly, settling against the spot where your baby already knows him.
"Hey, little man," he murmurs, thumb stroking absently over the fabric of your shirt. "You miss me?"
Bug nods enthusiastically, still latched onto him, her little hand coming to rest beside his. "We told him all about your games, daddy. Even the ones you didn’t win."
"Oh, great," Quinn groans playfully, pressing his forehead briefly to hers. "Bet he loved that."
"He did," she says confidently.
And then, right on cue, a little shift beneath his hand, a small, familiar kick, like a quiet 'welcome home.'
And just like always, Quinn smiles, warmth settling deep in his chest, his world clicking right back into place.

Happy turkey day to those that celebrate, I’m thinking about Steve who has absent, borderline neglectful parents but THAT’S ACTUALLY OKAY it’s actually perfect on holidays because Steve’s pretty extroverted and probably has a large group of friends extending from close to “we’re on the same basketball team and Steve will high five your face if you don’t get your hand up fast enough”
so really all he’s gotta do it bat those puppy eyes at some unsuspecting mom and BAM invited to holiday dinner. He probably does rounds, and thankfully he has teenage boy metabolism because he probably manages to fit 7 different moms’ dinner in in one day
And sure, after he graduates he’s not sure if it’s good manners to show up at old teammates’ doorsteps. BUT THEN Mrs. Henderson looks at him mid-November and totally claims him for the day where she’s hosting her brother’s family too. Except Dustin brags to Lucas and Lucas gets jealous so Steve then also has to show up at the Sinclair’s in the evening. Max is already there so Steve drives her home that night with leftovers. (Mike is very secretly butthurt about all of this and is really nasty to Nancy the weeks of thanksgiving and Christmas.)
(Robin’s family doesn’t DO thanksgiving but instead goes camping for the week. Robin hates this, and they wouldn’t let Steve join them even though he had his own tent so she hates it MORE. She tries to mutiny but her mom gives her these sad teary eyes and cries about Robin growing up too fast and robin’s fate is sealed. She and Steve instead have their own tradition of movies and junk food the weekend after, so Robin gets reintroduced real food again. So while Buckley’s aren’t on the thanksgiving rotation, Robin gets special Christmas privileges and Steve stays over on Christmas Eve.)
So by the time Eddie is in the picture, Steve already has standing expectations for his presence that’s not just a drive-by plate cleaning, and he’s kinda sad, he and Wayne don’t usually do much and Wayne has to work usually. But actually how dare he be sad, because Steve’s like “🤨 you’re coming too, stupid” and he Eddie and max go to each house like trick or treaters but for turkey.
Then Steve gets close with Eddie’s friends and they have to start splitting holidays like children of divorce.
One time Steve gets it in his head to hold friends giving the week before. He never does it again.

Joseph Woll saying that he wasn't nervous singing on stage because he had Mitch up there with him has the same energy as when he said, "I trust Mitch when he's on the ice", and I just think that's beautiful.

There’s some male booktuber that read The Princess Diaries this year and he was so scandalized that freshman Mia dates senior boys and like…obviously not ideal, but like definitely a thing that happens. Like he was so upset about it he called them abuse and said no one should read them and idk I just don’t think you as a British man should moralize over books for teen girls

I like to think kaeya with klee in the anecdote event under the guise of checking the local wine industry in Liyue is just Diluc and Jean's ploy to get that bitch a vacation. If he goes on his own, he'll be working but if he goes with Klee, it's p much babysitting and he's forced to have fun and chill out bc the last thing Kaeya would do is make Klee do actual work and leave her alone to destroy the country bc that man dotes on her.

For today's warm up I cleaned and colored these Yves drawings I did once I finished his route. He really is the biggest cinnamonroll of the bunch. I have said it before and I will say it again, I want to protect him. Funny enough, my first impression of him made me think that I wouldn't like him, but the moment I played Licht's route and how supportive Yves was towards Licht... This twink just stole my heart. He deserves all the love and support he gets. (And I'm more disappointed now about Gilbert's dramatic route and how it did Yves dirty. :( )

I love how over time kid xelqua has become less just baby grian and more grian's kid who he found in the woods/somehow created and now the kid represents all of grian's childhood trauma and Catholic guilt and grian is just trying to break the cycle bc there's this magic fucking baby who is the best thing in the world
JKAGJKD yes Exactly, see evo Grian has a lot of family issues, from being an orphan, to the Watchers, he has ISSUES, so raising a version of himself is..... definitely odd, but weirdly healing.. He sees how he was as a kid, he wasn't that bad, he was just a kid ! He didn't deserve to be abandoned or anything. He sees all of his ache in Xelqua, he's very much breaking the cycle.
Tumblr media
[mumbo: You alright mate, you have that look in your eyes. grian: no yeah--i'm good, i just.... its easy to raise him, y'know ? i mean, i know he's literally me, but.. it makes me wonder about my own parents--before the watchers, if i was anything like him, i don't know why they left] (-me)
